my roommate has a running theory that Tsukishima isn't even close to above average intelligence and it's merely circumstantial to the fact that all his friends are jocks that make it look otherwise. Like he's the ADHD pattern-recognition kid that memorizes a ton of facts and therefore can always look smart, but he himself is still a sport-kid, like he's spending all his spare time practicing hitting a ball around, academically he's probably middle-of-the-pack at best in his class, but none of the volleyball club notices bc they're comparatively below average.

but Tsukki's classmates watch Hinata and Kageyama beg him to help them study, and all the math club, debate club, otherwise academically rigorous kids are baffled like??? Tsukishima Kei??? the B- student????

cc!leo and the way love and distrust go hand in hand for him. how he guards his own heart in an attempt to protect the person he cares about the most and that's his own undoing-- how that's both of their undoing. how he sees trust on donnie's end as too much, something he doesn't deserve and something he took for granted. how out of everything that's the one thing he will never ask for, and he's so quick to withhold information to protect donnie's heart in turn (hell, he does it to raph too, and by taking leadership he's quicker to hold up the weight on his own instead of sharing it).

and how this contrasts with how leo before this point spent his whole life begging for the trust of others, for his family to just believe in him for once. and now he fails to see the independence he's developed as a sign that his trust in other people, and in donnie, has been broken, and because of that he doesn't realize that it hurts them until he has to confront it violently head-on. (he doesn't even realize that in a lot of ways its the other side of the coin from how he was under the curse)

Still kind of sad/upset that IDW Optimus gets ignored as the dumb jock OP he is. I mean I know people just want the himbo good guy mainly but like. Do you want an Optimus who barely knows what the fuck he's doing. Do you want an Optimus who makes a preliminary plan but then goes "fuck it we ball" and freestyles the rest. Do you want an Optimus who canonically decided the best way to fight the government would be to literally fight his way into a Senate meeting and scream one of Megatron's speeches at them even as he's getting dragged away and it's only through the intervention of a Senator that he's even still alive?

Locke and Key-a pair of 'Trapper' Slashers.

Locke was the heavy lifter of the two. From building the elaborate traps and puzzles they'd put people in to kidnapping people and moving their bodies. Locke, though characterized frequently as a giant mute brute, is a rather gentle person. He genuinely believed what Key and he was doing was a good thing. That the people who survived their traps would leave with a new perspective and change their lives. Which was not the case as Key was simply a man who loved control, had an ego and god complex and lorded over Locke with abuse emotional and physical despite the fact Locke was much much stronger.

Eventually, Locke had enough and killed Key publicly and submitted to being arrested. He is ironically a very model prisoner and is often contacted by the FBI to profile other killers. Locke is an alarmingly intelligent man with a strangely deep level of emotional intelligence when it comes to people. The few people who have tried to psychoanalyze Locke believes it's the same level of gaslighting and manipulation found in cults and high control abusive relationships that resulted in his submissive behavior towards Key.

Locke being a calm, pleasant man often puts people at unease because they expect him to be naturally violent. The prison he was sentenced to has become much more peaceful since he is essentially the biggest scariest son of a bitch there and he calls nearly all the shots.
