Imagine all the Hale kids plus their cousins all at the park and kid stiles is there playing with kid Cora and her cousins then they make Derek play with them. Derek is classic middle child. He’s older than the little kids but younger than Laura and the other cousins. Stiles absolutely loves playing with Derek. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the werewolf kids and even the human ones too but Derek stays behind with stiles until he catches up. Then when it’s time to leave Talia calls over the kids with a loud whistle (lol my mom actually does this) and all the kids all start herding back to the car, including stiles who is just following along. It takes Talia when they’re half way home to realize that she took an extra kid with her, she didn’t even smell him cause they’ve all been rolling around him all day. Good thing she knows Claudia so she won’t be too freaked out.

She gets half way home and realises there’s 11 heartbeats in the back seat when there should only be 10 (I know, what car fits 11 kids, we’ll, they’re small and children - especially werewolf pups - have no regards for safety). She pulls over and turns around to see stiles sitting between Cora and Derek with a big smile on his face.

I like to think that Talia, Noah and Claudia grew up around the same time and know each other well, or maybe Peter caused a lot of trouble growing up and Noah was a new deputy that often had to deal with him (like Parrish with Stiles), so she knows Stiles and just drives him home. Chances are, Stiles snuck out of the house to go play at the park in the first place.

Derek rolled his eyes. “You’re so annoying.”

“You know what, I actually hear that a lot.”

“Me, too,” Derek admitted. “But I think it’s probably true about you.”

“Okay, rude,” Stiles sneered. “Why don’t you just use your claws to climb the tree? Like a cat.”

“I’m not a cat—I’m a wolf.”

“No shit, Sherlock” —Stiles grabbed Derek’s hand and pressed his fingertips into Derek’s palm, which immediately made his claws pop out— “but you’ve still got claws.”

Derek stared down at his hand, dumbfounded. “How’d you do that?”

“Party trick.” Stiles shrugged, then nodded towards the tree. “Now climb, spider monkey.”

With his claws to aid him, Derek managed to scale the tree much easier this time—and didn’t even have to leap up onto the branch, since he could just climb. Once he was situated on it, he looked down at Stiles.

“I don’t know how to put the claws back,” Derek said, waving his fingers. “I don’t know how to control it yet.”

“It’s probably safer if they stay out right now, anyway.”

“I’m working with Peter,” Derek continued. “He’s teaching me with this special token thing that helps.”

“You’ll get it eventually,” Stiles assured him. “I’ve seen it.”

“What do you mean?”

“You have your abilities and I have mine.”

Derek’s eyebrows shot up. “You can see the future?”

“Something like that,” Stiles said. “Yours, at least—for a while.”

1. Stiles left Beacon Hills to never return and left his jeep.

2. Derek saved his jeep and fixed everything. Stiles's dad flat out says Derek saved it after Stiles left and tried to fix it up. Stiles had it held together with duck tape but Derek put everything into fixing it, but it wasn't able to run perfectly.

3. In the 15 years since Stiles left to never return, it ended up in the junkyard because Derek couldn't fix it like he wanted to, but he wouldn't abandon it.

4. Eli, Derek's kid, would routinely steal it to piss Derek off.

5. After Derek died. Stiles's dad gave Eli the keys to the jeep and told him Derek had "complicated feelings about the Jeep" but it should definitely be Eli's.

So like Derek was in love with Stiles huh? Like he saved Stiles's jeep, when Stiles himself abandoned it. He tried to make it run smoothly and when he couldn't he kept it under a tarp at the junkyard to not be driven but not to be scrapped either. And then his son would regularly steal it solely to piss Derek off. Derek himself said it was just to make him mad. And then when Derek died, Sheriff Stilinski gave the keys to Eli and said he should have it and that Derek had "complicated feelings about the jeep" but it was Eli's. Derek was definitely in love with Stiles and I just.
