Imagine all the Hale kids plus their cousins all at the park and kid stiles is there playing with kid Cora and her cousins then they make Derek play with them. Derek is classic middle child. He’s older than the little kids but younger than Laura and the other cousins. Stiles absolutely loves playing with Derek. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with the werewolf kids and even the human ones too but Derek stays behind with stiles until he catches up. Then when it’s time to leave Talia calls over the kids with a loud whistle (lol my mom actually does this) and all the kids all start herding back to the car, including stiles who is just following along. It takes Talia when they’re half way home to realize that she took an extra kid with her, she didn’t even smell him cause they’ve all been rolling around him all day. Good thing she knows Claudia so she won’t be too freaked out.
She gets half way home and realises there’s 11 heartbeats in the back seat when there should only be 10 (I know, what car fits 11 kids, we’ll, they’re small and children - especially werewolf pups - have no regards for safety). She pulls over and turns around to see stiles sitting between Cora and Derek with a big smile on his face.
I like to think that Talia, Noah and Claudia grew up around the same time and know each other well, or maybe Peter caused a lot of trouble growing up and Noah was a new deputy that often had to deal with him (like Parrish with Stiles), so she knows Stiles and just drives him home. Chances are, Stiles snuck out of the house to go play at the park in the first place.

Now I have to do the reverse of the sterek version of this story.
Claudia died on the first day of school. The next week, Stiles had to go to school. The teachers all knew and they'd told the students. People would whisper behind his back or pity him. He didn't want pity. He didn't want people talking about him. He wanted the world to disappear. Then he met Derek, a kinda-cocky member of the basketball team who would sit with him in the library--never showing him pity, just enjoying his presence.
They started dating and ended up getting married after graduation. But with every milestone that passed, Stiles would think about his mum. He wished she was there to see him graduate, he wishes his mum could have met Derek.
At their wedding, they light a candle for Claudia.
On their honeymoon, Stiles gets a call from Scott. He sounds super excited. While helping his mum clear out some old stuff, he found a photo of them from when they were little. They used to play on a soccer team. And Scott says one of the kids inthe photo looks just like Derek when he was younger. Scott sends him the photo and Holy shit! It's Derek!
Stiles shows Derek the photo and Derek smiles and says, "Yeah, I was the goalie."
Later, when Stiles is on the phone to his dad, he asks him if he remembers the soccer team he and Scott were part of when they were younger.
"I remember the goalie," Sheriff Stilinski says. "The kid would sit down in the net and play in the dirt. Your mum thought he was hilarious."

Sterek Week 2022
Derek's daughter has always been shy. He's doing his best to be patient, but it does hurt his heart to see her not connecting with the other kids around her. Then they go trick or treating and there's a huge smile on her face. Add that to the gorgeous man and his adorable daughter under the watchful eye of the Sheriff and you have a Halloween stock full of treats.

boys of summer sterek, southpaw, established relationship, kid fic day 7: "i wish every day could be like this"
Stiles isn’t great at giving gifts. It’s not his strong suit; he loves his family and friends to the ends of the earth and back, but he’s just not great at spending a bunch of time trying to come up with something meaningful and heartfelt twice a year. His go-to gift is technology—Derek’s going to be getting the newest iPhone for every birthday he ever has—and now that they’ve got kids, he pairs it with something having to do with them. Derek’s a sucker for anything with handprints or photos, so Stiles is pretty sure the professionally framed pictures that Norah had drawn in her shaky four year old hand was going to be the highlight of the night for his husband.
Until fucking Jackson had dug around in his gift bag and tossed a Yankees jersey across the table.
“He’s already got one of those, don’t encourage him,” Stiles says, rolling his eyes and picking another slice of mushroom off his pizza and holding it to Harper’s mouth.
“Not one of these,” Jackson says, and Stiles glances over at him suspiciously before looking back at Derek, who’s just holding the jersey up; Stiles catches the blocky text with WHITTEMORE on the back and groans.
He’s never getting away from the damn Yankees now.
“But that’s not your actual gift,” Jackson says to Derek, and the smug smile he gives him lets Stiles know he’s about to really hate his life. “This is.”
Stiles catches the second jersey with a sigh, and lets out an exaggerated whimper when he sees Jackson holding up two more—tiny pinstriped cleaning rags if he has anything to say about it, there’s no way he’s letting his girls wear those things.
Norah’s wearing hers three minutes later. Harper, thankfully, falls asleep on his lap before Jackson can convince her to put it on.
Stiles will get him back for this.
--
Three months later
“Don’t be mad,” is how his morning starts, and Stiles looks up at Derek with bleary, sleep-crusted eyes. He doesn’t even have the energy to be mad, because Harper has decided that every week should be sleep regression week.
“I’m too tired to feel anything,” he says, and feels a twist in his stomach when Derek’s expression turns vaguely guilty. He waves a hand, accidentally sending oatmeal flying. “Don’t worry about it. What’d you do?”
He expects something family related—another class added to Norah’s busy schedule, their babysitter canceling their standing Friday night slot, accepting a last minute invitation to his parent’s house for dinner. Instead, Derek shifts his weight from one foot to the other (a sure sign Stiles won’t like what’s coming) and says, “Remember how Jackson said there was another part to my birthday present and I’d get it later?”
Stiles narrows his eyes.
“I got it this morning.”
“You’re stalling,” Stiles says, and then it hits him. He’d dismissed it at the time, figuring it was some other God awful piece of Yankees gear, and had forgotten all about it when it hadn’t materialized.
And now it’s the end of March and Jackson’s bringing it up again.
“I’m not going,” he says immediately, then pinches the bridge of his nose because wow, way to be a present, loving husband. “Jesus. Fuck him, I swear to God, I’m going to kill him. Did he get you good seats, at least? I need him to be able to hear me when I spend every at-bat yelling about what a colossal assface he is.”
“That was a lot of adult words,” Norah says brightly, and Stiles drops the spoon he was holding when it startles him.
He has got to start getting more sleep.
“Yeah and clearly you know them, so I shouldn’t be hearing them repeated,” he says, looking over at her and pushing her neglected oatmeal closer before looking back over at Derek. “When is it?”
Derek looks at him, glances at the floor, and then up at the ceiling; it’s a sight that fills Stiles with dread. Derek is nothing short of forthcoming, unless he’s about to beg for something that Stiles really will not like. “It’s—the whole season?”
He pushes his bowl to the side, moves his coffee to a safe distance, and drops his head onto the table, banging it lightly. “He’s dead to me, I swear to God.”
--
Stiles wears the jersey, but only in the hopes that Harper pukes on it. Or Norah. He’s half-tempted to actually give her every kind of food she’s asking for, but he would be a terrible parent if he did and sometimes the only thing he’s got to hang on to is his ability to keep two small children alive and well every day.
His only saving grace is that Harper’s lulled to sleep by the several loops around the stadium they make before first pitch, and that she hadn’t woken up when Derek had gently placed a pair of noise-canceling headphones on her. He’d handed responsibility of Norah over to him  and had taken Harper for himself, strapping her into the baby carrier on his chest, which also gave him an excuse to stay firmly seated and not cheer.
It works until Jackson comes up to bat in the second inning and swings for the fences, launching the ball over the right field wall and taking his time to round the bases. The crowd surges to it’s feet the moment the bat cracks and the noise level goes from tolerable to ear-splitting, and when Jackson turns to look dead at him, he can’t help but give a half-hearted cheer while flipping him off.
The smile on Derek’s face makes it worth it.
--
“I don’t want to leave, we can’t leave, I want to see another game,” Norah whines. Stiles can’t hear what Derek says to her, a low murmur in her ear as he rubs her back, but she lays her cheek on his shoulder and sighs, “Okay, if you promise,” in response.
He glances at his phone, looks at the crowd flowing towards the exits, and makes a decision. “You want to see Uncle Jack before we go home?” She nods, and when she sticks her thumb in her mouth, he reaches out and gently pulls it back out as Derek moves off to the side and stops. “Did you have fun?”
“Yeah,” she says, yawning. “I wish every day could be like this.”
His heart swells and breaks simultaneously, sliding his phone back into his pocket after tapping out a message to Jackson. He may not have played in Yankee Stadium for a few years, but he remembers how to get down to the clubhouse just fine, and he brushes his hand against Derek’s arm before leading the way. “Well,” he says, already regretting his words, “we have eighty more chances.”

Why do I suddenly have the urge to write famous singer stiles au

Day 3: Back to School — Innocence is Bliss
Thanks for the amazing prompts @hale-o-ween!
Derek Hale has been teaching fourth graders for about seven years now—six of which he's spent pining for one of the other fourth grade teachers. Not Ms. Blake, no, she had creepily tried getting Derek into her bed instead of a movie theater like he imagined when he heard the word "date."
No, Derek liked Mr. Stilinski—Mr. S as the kids called him. And no, not the town's Sheriff Mr. Noah Stilinski, but Stiles Stilinski, local menace and teasing master.
On a daily basis, Stiles managed to mold the minds of tomorrow using unorthodox methods, stain some part of his outfit at least once before the end of the school day, and hypnotize Derek even further with quick quips and liquid-amber eyes.
It took a special group of eight- and nine-year-old children for buried infatuations to come to light.
It started off with a seemingly-innocent question from one of Derek's wards during recess.
Isaac Lahey tended to not get along with the other kids—especially that Whittmore boy, he was a particularly nasty one—so the curly-haired cherub usually spent allotted recess time talking to Derek. Sometimes, when Stiles wasn't busy, he would join the two in riveting conversation by the picnic tables.
It was one day like so in early October when Isaac looked up with bright blue eyes and asked innocently, "Are you and Mr. S dating?"
Derek felt his neck grow hot as he gaped at the young boy. He didn't know how to answer, but Stiles apparently did. Without missing a beat the flirt shook his head and replied, "Nope. Mr. Hale hasn't asked me out yet."
Isaac turned accusingly towards him, affronted, and demanded, "Why not?"
"Yeah," Stiles chuckled, amber eyes twinkling with mischief, "why not?"
The teacher floundered for a response. The best he could manage was, "Rejection feels terrible."
Tiny sapphire irises flickered between the two, Isaac's math homework laying abandoned on gray plastic. "He wouldn't reject you," the boy claimed.
Stiles nodded seriously, confirming, "I wouldn't reject you."
Derek glared at the other adult. Stiles certainly wasn't helping the conversation by repeating everything Isaac thought of as easy as breathing.
Fiddling with a stray eraser, Derek stared at splintered wood, mumbled, "How was I supposed to know that."
Stiles snorted. "Dude," he huffed, "you have a major advantage in the 'knowing things' department."
As if to prove his point, Stiles flicked his hands up to his crown and made his fingers dip once in a synchronized wave, face scrunched in a mock-growl.
Derek's confusion shifted to bewilderment as he understood that Stiles understood. Mystified, the werewolf started, "How did you..."
"You aren't exactly subtle," Stiles smirked, crossing his arms as he raised a brow to the child beside them.
Isaac nodded knowingly, "Ms. Argent's bunny hates you."
With Derek's brain still fried from the knowledge that his unrequited crush A) wouldn't physically crush him and B) wasn't so unrequited—Stiles had to take matters into his own hands.
Quite literally.
"So," he smiled, cupping Derek's hand on the table gently, fiddling with his pinky, "how about that date?"
The werewolf nodded, wordless excitement bubbling to the surface. Derek properly intertwined their fingers and brushed their ankles together. "That sounds amazing," he smiled back.
Isaac smiled wider until his grin matched his teachers' in vibrancy. "Now are you and Mr. S dating?"

I'm not kidding...
I also didn't think the song Happy Birthday would give me emotional damage or that the jerk I wanted to punch in ep1 became my favorite boi...
But here we are...

Sure.

Those Hidden Places by Mimiminaj
(1/1 I 18,799 I Explicit I Sterek)
He doesn’t belong here.
It’s the first thought that crosses Derek’s mind as he watches the new inmates spill into the cafeteria. The kid stays close to the wall, eyes scanning all the exits and skimming over the tables. If he’s trying to get a barring for his surroundings he’s doing a shit job of it, something made completely evident as Lewis shoulders him from behind and the kid almost jumps to flatten himself against the wall.
Or
Stiles is the new inmate at Derek's prison. He really didn't expect to fall in love with the mouthy little brat.
Sixteen Years In Hell by gaydestiny
(7/7 I 23,914 I Explicit I Sterek)
So this was finally it. He was being escorted by an armed guard through a pair of double doors and into actual prison. Where he would be sharing living quarters with convicted killers, probably. Stiles may have been a bit of a badass in his own right, but he was still just a 16 year old kid, he used to be an honor student for fuck's sake, how was he supposed to deal with this?
Never Cage A Rabid Wolf by tty9
(26/26 I 49,734 I Explicit I Sterek)
Stiles is sent to prison, and gets assigned to a cell with-
“Hale?!” Scott gasped as his gaze followed Stiles’s. “You got Derek Hale?! Oh boy, man, good luck with that buddy, that guy is a psycho!” His voice had become worryingly high pitched. Stiles’s heart started thumping in his chest, and he swore it actually skipped a beat when Hale looked up at them, his eyes searing into Stiles’s who quickly dropped his head. His beef (or was it pork?) slop suddenly looked very interesting.
Could Frame Thy Mortal by orphan_account
(15/15 I 42,271 I Explicit I Steter)
"It’s normal. Spending every waking second watching Hale is normal. In many ways, Hale is his whole universe: tracking his movements, waiting for what he does next, wondering what he’s thinking. The only outside stimulation he gets otherwise is the shower visits, and even then it’s only when Chris is the one taking him that he gets any engagement.
Stiles knows Hale like he knows the water pipe. The sixty two bars that line the side of their cage. Like the minute of cold water that hits Stiles’ skin before the heat finally comes in the shower block. "
Held in an Argent facility, never knowing who he can trust, Stiles pays for his survival with the only currency he has.

Sterek HS AU’s
Tumblr media
Practice Makes Perfect Series by @blacktofade
One of the best Sterek HS AUs.  Derek is Captain of the Lacrosse team.  Scott and Stiles make the team somehow.
Option C) Some Bad Guys are Werewolves, but not all Werewolves are Bad Guys by Calrissian18 @wellhalesbells
All the high school days nostalgia Sterek style. QuietBroodingJock!Derek / Nerd!Stiles
Binomial Coefficients by @devildoll
So many beautifully awkward moments. Captured flawlessly the nerd / jock romance.
I laughed out loud at so many lines, but this is my favorite line: “Derek always looks slightly annoyed with everyone around him, and he still has more friends than Stiles.”
Here’s To You, Kiddo by MellytheHun @loserchildhotpants
Jock!Werewolf!Protective!Pining!Derek, Artist!Stiles, Bully!Jackson. Sweet and easy HS AU read.
What Good Are Rules If You Can’t Break Them by wishingonalightningbolt
Stiles and Derek use their antagonistic relationship to keep their no-strings-attached-sex relationship a secret. “It goes about as well as you’d expect.”
The Socioeconomic Repercussions of Mutually Assured Destruction by alocalband
Derek is the cool, but quiet kid.  Stiles is a flaily nerd. Checks all the Sterek HS AU boxes.
Tutor!Verse by betp @lavenderek
Snack size vignettes following Jock!Derek and “Geek”!Stiles. The first Not Another Sterek Romance ... is completely fulfilling on it’s own if you are not looking for a series read.
The Nerd Party by bibliosexual @biliosexxual
Lacrosse Captain (and closet nerd) Derek Hale and Unabashed nerd Stiles Stilinski discover they have a common interest and something to talk about. Hales!Live.
The Athlete & the Criminal by @damnfancyscotch
Well done spin on The Breakfast Club with Stiles as The Jock" and Derek as "The Criminal". Nothing too deep, but a quick feel good read.
Covelant Bonds Series by @halffizzbin
Nerd!Derek and Jock!Stiles get paired as chemistry partners.
You Were Only 17 Series by MellytheHun @loserchildhotpants
Antagonistic!Derek “bullies” Stiles until the tension gets so thick a kiss is stolen and everything becomes clear. (The “bullying” in this fic is akin to some vexing pigtail pulling - attention seeking, not malicious.)
You’ve Got Notes by the_gramophone
Jock!Derek, Nerd!Stiles. Derek and Laura are twins and in the same grade as Stiles. Stiles keeps receiving notes in his locker that are anonymous love letters. It’s sweet, then heart breaking, then brilliantly, dramatically butterfly inducing.
You Can Hear It In the Silence by Emela
I’m sorry to see this one was deleted. It’s a bit more of a serious take on the HS AU with a “John Goode YA feel” about it. A secret relationship between a formerly popular Derek - who has been “outed” by a vindictive Kate and ostracized by a homophobic student body and a firmly closeted, newly popular Stiles.  Beyond the Sterek relationship it took on some coming of age themes in a societal context.

Imagine kid Derek running around with his werewolf teeth cause he can control his shift and he has a lisp and his canine teeth are sharp. But his teeth are still small cause he’s still a child so no one really questions it cause it still looks sort of normal.

This post appeared again on my dash and it makes me smile every time, but this time I can't get the idea of a sterek version out of my head.
Imagine the Hale fire happened a week before school started and Derek didn't deal with it well. People would whisper behind his back or pity him and he hated it. Then he met Stiles, a chaotic ball of energy that barrelled into his life, treated him like anyone else, went on long rambling tangents, and made Derek smile.
They started dating and ended up getting married after graduation. But with every milestone that passed, Derek would think about his family. He wished his mum was in the crowd the day he graduated, he wishes his family could have met Stiles, wishes they could have gotten to know him, that they could have seen how he makes Derek smile.
At their wedding, they lay a flower on each of the seats that Derek's family would have filled.
On their honeymoon, Derek gets a call from Cora. She and Laura had been clearing out old boxes of stuff and she found a photo of the soccer team she and Derek played on when they were younger, and one of the kids in the photo looks just like Stiles.
Derek shows Stiles the photo and Stiles says, "Yeah, I was the goalie."
Later, when Derek is on the phone to Laura, he tells her about the photo and how he and Cora were on the same team as Stiles.
"I remember those games," Laura reminisces. "Mum and I used to watch the goalie - sweet kid. He would sit down in the goal and play in the dirt. Mum thought he was hilarious. She loved that kid."
Derek smiles as he looks at his husband and thinks, Yeah, I love him too.

oh boy im really in the mood for a highschool au, de-aged derek sterek fics, could you rec me your fave so far?? thank you sm for all you do for this fandom you're a lifesaver!!!!
Sure! Try these ones.
Fly a Little Faster by  mirrorkill | 32K
Everyone knows when you go back in time, you shouldn’t step on an ant, just in case you accidentally kill your own grandparent or something. But what happens when you go back in time and, uh, accidentally interrupt the one event that apparently made the Grumpiest Alpha in Town into a ball of mindless manpain?
Well, if Marty McFly can do it, so can Stiles Stilinski. All he has to do is get Derek and Paige to fall in love before he gets pulled back to his own time. And before he makes anything worse. That’s easy as pie, right? Right?
Where Clouds Roll By by  ohanotherday | 22K
Derek gets de-aged, physically *and* mentally, and immediately gravitates towards Stiles instead of his pack. Why? Because he can sense that everyone else (Scott, Erica, Boyd, Isaac, etc.) is a werewolf (or were-something, in Jackson’s case), and his family taught him not to trust unfamiliar weres when he was on his own. He can also sense that Allison’s a Hunter or connected to them somehow, (maybe she smells like wolfsbane? w/e). So Stiles ends up having to take care of him until he’s back to normal. In the meantime, bb!Derek gets very protective of Stiles, and adorable shenanigans ensue.
This Time With Feeling by  Crimson1 | 36.1K
“Derek Hale, if you refuse to learn from your past…then you will be doomed to repeat it.” In which Derek is turned into a 16-year-old and has to stay with Stiles until they figure out how to turn him back.
Play It Again by  metisket | 63.2K
In which Stiles goes along with one of Derek’s plans and ends up in an alternate universe as a result. He should’ve known better. He did know better, actually, and that means he has no one to blame but himself.
“Laura wants to lure the kid in with food and kindness and make a pet of him, like a feral cat. Derek wants to have him arrested for stalking. They’re at an impasse. (And the rest of the family is staying emphatically out of it in a way that suggests bets have been placed.)”
Where The Inevitable Isn’t by  Survivah | 41.2K
Stiles has a magical thingamajig that’s supposed to get him out of danger. Trouble is, it took him really, really far out of danger. Like, to the point where he isn’t in the same universe anymore.
“A part of Stiles had been thinking that he’d come home, and just go, ‘hey, Derek, are we mates and you just haven’t said anything about it?’ and Derek would reply, 'now you mention it, we are indeed! Now come to my bedchamber, where we will have super hot sex and then cuddle after!’”
Now as Ever (All That Is and Has Been) by  venis_envy | 52.2K
Stiles can’t remember what happened to rearrange the time-space continuum, or how he ended up being pulled into the past. All he knows is that he’s there now, in 2003 Beacon Hills, with a teenage werewolf and a possibly-crazy veterinarian as his only allies.
Hormonally Yours by Nokomis | 1.1K
Stiles is on a stakeout with adorably teenaged Derek. Makeouts happen.
A Wrinkle in Time by PencilTrash | 2.8K
“But Deaton, how do we change him back?” “I don’t know, Scott.” “Does this potion contain wolfs bane?” “A little.” “What?! But he's… he is… ” Stiles watched as Scott struggled for the correct word, totally freaking out, and gestured at the twitching blanket in Cora’s hold. “… so small,” Scott murmured after a beat.
I’ll be right back (in 24 years) by AnaIsFangirling (Ana_K_Lee) | 48.1K
When Derek thought about time travel – and he did, a lot – this was not what he’d had in mind. He’d thought he would see his younger self, tell him to leave Paige alone and NEVER trust Kate Argent. He’d thought he’d get to come back once that was done and everything would be perfect. He never imagined having to relive his entire life.
The Time Traveler’s Prerogative by  weathervaanes | 9.2K
After the events of “117”, Derek doesn’t magically transform back into his twenty-five-year-old body. Instead, he’s stuck as a sixteen-year-old for an unknown amount of time. So the pack has to learn to deal with it.
Hold On, Hold Tight (make it through another night) by  callunavulgari | 2.9K
“You feel important,” Derek finally blurts out, the tips of his ears going red the second the words are out of his mouth.
Stiles blinks at him. “What?”
Baby-faced Derek bites his lip again, which is… distracting. “Something is wrong,” he finally says, slowly. “I don’t know what, because none of you are telling me anything—” and ah, there’s a hint of the old Derek. Stiles would recognize that scowl anywhere. “—but I know that everything smells wrong. And that I can’t feel mom anymore. I can’t feel anyone, except for you.”

Chapter #9
Summary:
Stiles turns off the tv and coaxes her to look at him. “I will always braid your hair. I think it’s really cool that you’re showing him how but that doesn’t mean he’s going to do it better than me. I don’t think it’s bad if he gets really good at it.” “You don’t?” “Nope. Do you know why?” She shakes her head. “Why?” Stiles brushes her hair out of her eyes. “Because one day Boyd might have a little girl of his own and when she asks him to braid her hair, he’ll be able to do it because you taught him how.” Olivia’s eyes widen and she smiles. “Oh. Well, then that’s okay."
AO3 Link
Lunchtime rolls around the next day, when Erica brings Olivia home, Derek having headed home after breakfast.
“Daddy?”
“In the kitchen Liv!”
She runs inside and throws her arms around his waist. “Did you have fun Daddy? How was your date? Is Mr. Derek here? Are you gonna go on another date?”
“Woah, slow down kiddo.”
Erica closes the front door and makes her way to the kitchen. She eyes the wine glasses in the dish drainer and sends a smirk at Stiles who silences her with a look. She raises her hands in a placating gesture and smiles. “I’m sure your daddy had fun. You need to put your laundry in the hamper Livvy.”
Olivia huffs. “Okay but then I want to know how daddy’s date went.”
Stiles waits until Olivia is in the laundry room before giving Erica a go ahead gesture. “So how was it, Batman? Is he sculpted all over?”
Stiles makes a face even as he blushes. “That’s none of your business. He’s gorgeous and I had an amazing evening.”
“Well good. So where is he?” She glances at the stairs. “Bedroom closet?”
“No,” Stiles says with a snort. “He left after breakfast.”
Erica looks like the cat that got the cream. “So, he stayed the night then. Get it, Batman. Do I need to call Boyd to do any repairs to the bed?”
“Erica!” he hisses. He checks to make sure Olivia hasn’t returned and then fixes Erica with a glare. “We didn’t have sex.” His admission is followed by a one shoulder shrug.
“Why not?”
“Because I have Olivia to think about and he has Zeke. Being a parent means we have to take our kids into consideration when it comes to relationships.” He waits until she looks ready to argue before continuing. “That being said, we're going to a movie this weekend. He also asked about stopping by after he gets off work. I told him he was welcome anytime. I think he mentioned getting dinner on Wednesday night and then depending on how the movie goes we’re going to go out to dinner at the diner with the kids.”
Erica is stunned and then lets out a shrill squeal before hugging him and spinning him around. “Holy shit, Batman!” She smiles and pinches his cheeks. “My little Batman is all grown up.”
Stiles rolls his eyes but he’s wearing a soft smile. “About time huh?”
“I’m happy for you, Stiles. You deserve to be happy. Boyd and I are happy to have Olivia stay with us anytime.”
Olivia chooses that moment to run back out slipping on her socks and barely stops herself from falling. “Olivia Claudia Rose!”
“Sorry, Daddy.”
“What have I said about running in the house?”
Olivia wrings her hands. “No running in the house and never in socks because that’s how you get concussions, and you would know because you got one.”
Stiles nods. “Exactly.” He sighs and opens his arms pulling her into a hug. She melts into the embrace and accepts the kiss to her forehead. “So, how did Boyd do with braiding your hair?”
“He did okay for his first try.”
Erica beams. “He may even get to be as good as you one day.”
Olivia looks at Erica and shakes her head. She frowns and looks up at Stiles who quirks a brow. “Nobody will ever be better than daddy at braiding my hair.” She buries her head against Stiles’s stomach, and he puts his hand up to stop Erica from trying to backtrack. He’s pretty sure he knows what’s wrong.
“Livvy, angel?” he says softly. “I planned for us to watch Star Wars: The Last Jedi this afternoon. Do you want to go get the couch movie ready?”
“Okay,” she mumbles.
Once she’s out of earshot Erica looks at Stiles with guilty eyes. “I’m sorry.”
Stiles shakes his head and hugs her. “Don’t be. It’s okay. I think I know what’s wrong.”
“Really? Was it something I said?”
“No. Not really. I haven’t dated anyone since…” he trails off.
Erica cups the back of his head and rubs his back. “Oh, Stiles. I’ll leave so you can talk to her but if you need me don’t hesitate to call. Okay?”
Stiles relaxes in her arms. “Okay.”
They hug for a few minutes longer before Erica heads out and Stiles joins Olivia on the couch. She crawls into his lap and rests her head on his shoulder, her eyes on the movie that’s playing. Stiles wraps his arms around her, one hand playing with her hair. He doesn’t say anything, just letting her calm down.
It’s not until the credits roll that Olivia starts talking. “Will you always braid my hair daddy? I don’t want Boyd to do it better than you.”
Stiles turns off the tv and coaxes her to look at him. “I will always braid your hair. I think it’s really cool that you’re showing him how but that doesn’t mean he’s going to do it better than me. I don’t think it’s bad if he gets really good at it.”
“You don’t?”
“Nope. Do you know why?”
She shakes her head. “Why?”
Stiles brushes her hair out of her eyes. “Because one day Boyd might have a little girl of his own and when she asks him to braid her hair, he’ll be able to do it because you taught him how.”
Olivia’s eyes widen and she smiles. “Oh. Well then that’s okay. You’re the only one I want to braid my hair though. Okay, Daddy?” she says with a yawn.
With a smile and a kiss to her forehead Stiles nods. “Of course.”
“Can we take a nap now, Daddy? I’m sleepy.”
Stiles pulls a blanket over them and adjusts to lay down with her head on his chest. “Go to sleep, Livvy. I’ll be right here when you wake up.”
Her eyes close and her breathing evens out as she falls asleep. Just like the time Stiles has with her when he braids her hair, moments when they cuddle like this are just as precious. He kisses Olivia's forehead and tucks a loose golden blonde curl behind her ear, smiling at her sleeping face. She looks so much like her mother.
Sometimes he has to stop to catch his breath. He and Gracie, Grace, were kindred spirits, platonic soulmates and he'd do anything for Grace, including raising her daughter as his own no matter how much it hurts sometimes to see her in her.
Stiles feels his own eyelids grow heavy and doesn’t try to fight it when he too drifts off. He’s glad they have today and tomorrow to themselves.

Up next for my author spotlights of active writers in the sterek fandom:
rororowyourboat / @rosieposiepuddingnpie!
One shots:
Autumn-Mated: A Love Story Foliages | T | 5k tags: getting together, fall shenanigans, kid fic Summary: Stiles gets back from a year away just in time to join the pack for the annual fall weekend away. However unlucky things keep happening to him… until Derek finally steps in and changes Stiles' luck.
Don't Call me Dude | G | 525 tags: fluff and crack, getting together Summary: Derek gets tired of Stiles calling him "dude" so Stiles tries out new things to call him.
Meet Ugly | T | 4k tags: getting together, memory loss, mates Summary: Stiles and Derek wake up in bed together with no memory of how they got there. Derek doesn't react well, but luckily Stiles knows how to deal with werewolves. .
“What did you do to me?” The man snarled, his eyes still glowing blue and fangs on full display. He glanced down at himself, seemingly realizing that he was standing there stark naked. He reached over and grabbed a pillow, holding it with one clawed hand in front of his junk.
“Nothing! Nothing I swear! What… what did you do to me?”
“Me? You obviously used your magic on me! How else would my memory be gone?”
“My… my magic? Dude, all that’s good for is creating wards and healing! I wouldn’t even have an idea how to wipe a werewolf’s memory!”
The man scoffed, his eyebrows doing an impressive maneuver before settling in a scowl again, “But you know I’m a werewolf?”
Stiles crossed his arms. “Alright, so my magic is good for wards and healing, and also my experience helps me to identify some supernatural folk. The fact that your eyes have been glowing since you woke up is a clue, by the way.”
MultiChapter Fics:
Defying Convention | T | 24k tags: Spark!Stiles, miscommunication, idiots in love Summary: Stiles is a newly certified fully-trained Spark, and he's on the market to chose a werewolf pack to act as Emissary for. The biggest problem? Almost every pack in North America wants him, and he's supposed to choose a pack at the 3-day conference. But how's he supposed to get to know any of the likely candidates when they're just being so damn polite and respectful?
Derek and his sisters are at the conference with bleak hopes: their pack was decimated by hunters years ago and their caustic attitudes have turned away most potential applicants.
New York State of Mind | T | 5k tags: AU-everybody lives/nobody dies, college student Stiles, getting together Summary: On Stiles' first day on his own in NYC, he bumps into a pair of very attractive strangers. Literally. He walks into Laura and knocks half the groceries out of her arms. Luckily, things get better from that point, once Stiles realizes that he and Derek are both students at NYU, and that Derek isn't actually opposed to his presence.
Series:
The Hale Spark | E | 9 works some tags: endgame Sterek, fork in the road au, kidfic, fluff, BAMF!Stiles
Stilinski Cousins | T | 3 works some tags: pre-relationship, fluff, getting together, magic Stiles

Hey! Your writing is amazing!! Do you have any Sterek fic recs?
Thank you so much 💖! I have absolutely loads of recs - way more than I could possibly fit in one post - but here's a little selection of things that I've read or re-read recently for you. It's a mixture of genres, some are classics, others are newer, but I loved them all. In no particular order, here you go:
No Superman by WhoNatural - E, ~48k words
Scrubs AU. I've never seen Scrubs, but if this fic is anything to go by I probably should. This is one of those fics that I'll re-read every time I see it linked somewhere. If you're into medical dramas, this is a great one. A+
A Functioning Adult’s Field Guide to Enemies With Benefits by BisexualGoblin - E, ~31k words
A delicious case of enemies to lovers, with a boatload of misunderstandings and a hefty case of pining idiots. Love it.
The Importance of Turning Around Three Times Before Lying Down by Otter - M, ~31k words
I'm a sucker for fics where Stiles unwittingly ends up looking after a dog that is very much not a dog, but a Derek. This one is excellent.
Lock All The Doors Behind You by Entanglednow - M, ~25k words
There's just something about a fic where Derek is feral and Stiles is the only one he trusts to get near him. I think this is one of the very first Sterek fics I ever read, and it still hits just right.
A (Sort of) Fairytale by Briecheesie - M, ~25k words
Fox Stiles. It's a classic, and it's so good.
Introduction to Zero-Sum Anthropology by Apocryphal - T, ~19k words
Derek Hale deserves nice things. But he cannot simply accept them, so a war of gift-giving must be in order. So so cute.
this dance of days by Imprintofadream - M, ~28k words
We've got Firefighter Derek, we've got Deputy Stiles, we've got wildfires and a delicious bit of slow burn. These are all good things, and they add up to something pretty excellent. 10/10.
I'm Not Asking Questions, I'm Taking My Chances by Keldjinfae - E, ~80k words
Let's get a bit of fantasy going here! Stiles is the prince of a kingdom where supernatural entities are banished, Derek is a werewolf with a mission to complete. It's not a Merlin AU, but if you're into Merlin I'm pretty sure you'll love this (and I am very much into Merlin, so obviously I loved it too). The plot had me hooked, and once I started reading I could not stop. 100% recommend.
DILF by Twentysomething - E, ~30k words
I'm not always the biggest one for kid fic, but this one is excellent. Stiles is a kindergarten teacher, Derek is a single parent to his two nephews. There's slow burn and a wolf sanctuary, and some impromptu howling. And Derek is, indeed, a DILF.
The Lawn Ranger by Snowjob - M, ~47k words
High school AU. It's summer, Stiles is a jock with a broken arm and a crush, Derek is the werewolf who gets roped into mowing his lawn. All. Good. Things.
Where the Real Beasts Are by Kaistrex - E, ~109k words
Do I love Stiles as a prince? Yes. Yes I do. Long and plotty and excellent. There are evil Argents, there are direwolves, there's some wonderful slow burn. All things that we love.
Bogarted by HalfFizzbin - M, ~3k words
Hilarious. Just A+. Derek is hit by a film noir curse, and it's just as perfect as you would imagine.
Stand Fast in Your Enchantments by DevilDoll - E, ~77k words
It's a classic, and I can't not rec it. Derek is feral, Stiles is magical, and they're held captive together. Read it. If you've already read it, heck, why not read it again?! I certainly will.
Wild Horses by ThePsychicClam - E, ~79k words
Ranch AU. Derek is a drifter that ends up at the Stilinski's failing ranch. I love this one. It has all the wonderful slow-burn UST goodness that I love, plus horses! 10/10 would recommend.
Can I rec my own fic? It feels kind of self-aggrandising, but I'm proud of it and I'm not above giving myself a little promo. I'll call it a bonus item and just leave it at the bottom here:
Way Down We Go by Wolfspurr - E, ~50k words
I wrote it! If you like stuff set around S3B, post-Nogitsune healing, and slow burn roadtrip fic, I hope you'll give this one a chance 💖
