\\ As a monkie kid enjoyer, how much did you struggle to learn drawing feet hands? Is there a technique, or is it just what it sounds like; Feet Hands. I'll type it again. Feet Hands. Or Hand Feet? ...Fingery toes?
I have no idea man. I’m not really good at drawing human feet yet, so monkey feet are a whole separate ball park. They’re basically just monkey hands but longer.
The first time I drew the monkey characters I just drew them with human feet since I couldn’t be bothered to learn monkey feet anatomy, until I realized that was very lazy of me. So, I learned it. Again, it’s difficult for me to explain since I have the kind of brain where I just look at something and draw it, no thoughts.
A practice I did of Mac for his body type (I’m struggling really hard with how to build him) where I gave him my own style of blocky monkey feet

I don't know how you draw ponytails for macaque. There, my worst nightmare to draw, teach me your ways, oh wise one 🙇♀️
When I draw it, I always start with the hairtie/ribbon, then from the very top to the bottom
the sketch in the bottom left is for when I draw ponytails in generals. of course the hair will look different depending of the type of hair (if it's curly, wavy or straight)
Explaining how I draw isn't really my thing, but I hope you understand better how I draw his ponytails✨

How do you draw Red Son’s bull ears?? I literally cannot do it and it makes me sad😡
Sorry, I’m not that great at explaining things but I tried my best!
(Forgot to mention but those tufts of fur inside the ear I also make both round sometimes instead of round/sharp)
#my art#digital art#lego monkie kid#lmk red son#asks#anon#tutorial#??? i guess#I literally only started doing the 2 extra tufts recently so I don’t got many examples for it

It's still Wednesday over here and I really wanted to get a post in today. I spent my day corralling elementary schoolers on a field trip to the Natural History Museum and it took a lot out of me. Thank you @thewholelemon, @drowninginships, @monbons, @lovelyladzzzz and @fiend-for-culture for the tags!
I started posting Beautiful Roaring Scream last week and a new chapter will be going up on Friday. In the meantime, here's some Simon POV:
Once we’ve made it inside Baz’s room, I briefly take it in from the corner of my eye and suddenly it has my full attention.
“Why is your room so much bigger than mine?!” I squawk. Where my room can barely fit a couch and bed in the living space, Baz has an actual living room with a sofa and chairs and a separate bedroom.
“Hush, let's not argue over size.” He's back to kissing me as he manoeuvres us towards the shower. It’s a good distraction.
I’ve managed to also get a few rough sketches done as well!
I learned how to spin yarn last weekend and it's taken a lot of my attention this week. It's so satisfying to see my consistency improve every time I pick it up. I'm not sure if I'll knit something with this yarn, I might just keep it for posterity. A long term goal would be to one day spin a sweater quantity of yarn, but I'm a ways off from that.

I also made progress on my scrappy sweater and my nephew's cardigan. And Littlest Purple seems to have remembered that I started and never finished a cardigan for her, so I'll have to get to it when my queue clears up a bit.

can...c-can show
how you draw swk and macaque's boo- muscles????
Oh sweet sweet anon, just say you wanna see the tiddies,,,, JKJK I’m here to provide hehe
Don’t be shy to use references! That is typically what I do if I’m having trouble seeing how the muscles lie.
Generalizing the top of the torso to two distinct sections: the top n the bottom - this will help you later when laying out how the muscles of the chest lay as well at the abdomen muscles as well. The lines in the second photo show this. When you get all the basics down, feel free to start adding the finer details! (Or even some alternations to your liking) ((like making the covered in fur and also mystic monkeys))

Usually this is how I do it though B] …..

guhhh…. could you maybe give some pointers on how you render I adore it
thank you so much 🥹! it’s important to note I use procreate and mainly use the mercury brush for my rendering. buuuttttt we’re doing this on ibis paint on my phone because I don’t have my ipad with me, but the process remains mostly the same!
this is a bit lengthy so read more under the cut :3
1. rough sketch
this is just a base sketch and can look rough as possible or even just be a few lines, what matters is that we get something down on the canvas to make better later!

2. line art!…sorta
I don’t typically do the traditional lining as I’m awful and shaky with lines, so I often just clean up the sketch or make messy lines and render them up later! any way works though, the point here is you just want a cleaner sketch or lined form!

3. flats and shading or other doohickeys you may add
I do my flats with a big brush and lasso tool it all, I may also do minimal shading here.
4. merge those bad boys (layers) together
this is where the magic happens. I grab my lasso tool and begin to make shapes and highlight along with bigger blocks of shading. I like rendering this way because my brain doesn’t have to do too much work and can easily make new forms with just shapes.
5. color changes (can be done at any point in the coloring process)
one thing about me is I am indecisive as FUCK. I may like how one set of colors looks but then prefer another color, color balance is your friend! feel free to play or mess around with different hues or warm or cold colors to get the colors you want, I’m more partial to saturated colors.
6. final rendering touches along with cleanup, as well as going over lines and adding more flair
this is where I add a lot of triangles or hatching, decided to just do hatching here. this is where most cleaning happens.
and with that we’re done! I hope this was easy to understand I apologize if not I am terrible at explaining things 😭 but I hope this helps anyone who’s getting more into rendering or learning how to! this is just my process and isn’t the end all be all, feel free to switch around steps or just do things your own way, that’s the beauty of art we all do it differently!!

Q: how do you draw torsos and legs? Some people say the hands are more difficult but for me it's those things, what tips would you give for those?
I also struggle with legs, way more than I ever struggled with hands. But, every problem has a solution. In this case: skeletons and naked people.
You can trace directly off of real life bodies, but a better practice is to draw your best copy of what you see, making your measuring and line confidence stronger💪
Yeah muscle anatomy is cool, but that’s a factor AFTER learning basic skeleton structuring. Having a 3D model of a skeleton that you can manipulate helps with figuring out how the skeleton moves with muscles, but you can typically see someone’s skeleton straight through their body depending on their weight and position. Below, you can see my simplified version of what I think his skeleton is doing. You need to understand how to build a strong base to create a proper body over it.
With enough studying of how the skeleton manipulates through the muscles, you can add your own skeleton to your drawing. Knowing each layer of biological anatomy, not just simple limb by limb drawing anatomy, brings much more weight and mass to your characters.
Lots of simple studies to figure out how the bone fits into the muscle so that you don’t have any limbs anatomically clipping over eachother and breaking form
For muscles, first off, just draw lots of naked people, second, use this lemon slice shape to show the weight of flesh, along with the tension of movement along the straight line of the shape. Watch all of this dudes video but specifically this one to understand more

Alright it seems I'mma post this now
Meet my lego persona (//_^)
Well about the hair clip that she wear
It's not always fully shown like this, it's usually shown depended on the situation, the one that often show is the butterfly one while the other gem usually remains hidden. Each gem have different purpose to the user, there will be time where only the black gem that showing, or only the blue gem, nor only the purple gem.
(//v^)
Well that's enough for now!
If you have any questions about her you can ask on the comments or my ask box, but no promises that I'll answer them :3

Questions For More Experienced Kandi Makers
Been trying to make an x base for a while now but I'm having some trouble with the string ending up being too loose to hold itself up. I've tried using fishing line in the hopes that it would be able to hold it up but I haven't been able to get it to work so far.
Oh, and another thing, any advice for someone learning how to do a peyote stitch and read patterns? I've tried watching some tutorials on YouTube but I can't seem to get the hang of it. I'm a bit of a slow learner lol.

So how do you draw hair? It’s literally so freaking pretty and smooth how you draw it and personally I wanna draw hair like that because I draw boring hair🫶
Before we start- Friendly Reminder: Pretty much all of my art/style, including hair, is inspired by Buxbo!

Other kinds of hair I’ve done
Things I forgot to mention:
Use references!! I use both real life and cartoons
I personally draw hair having a lot of volume and being very thick so it appears more fluffy, I just use really big shapes and draw the hair a little detached from the circle base sketch
I use a mix of stiff and loose lines (as seen w/ macaque) but usually I lean more towards loose
Coloring hair is a whole separate conversation that I’m still trying to figure out myself
My style is constantly changing, especially lately, and I just recently got the hang of doing hair like this! (It took me a year) I’m literally just doing whatever lol
#sorry this got so long winded and all over the place idk what I’m doing 😅#also that first pic isn’t meant in a bad way!!#I just struggled with explaining this (and it’s a reference to that thing rottmnt leo does)#my art#digital art#lego monkie kid#hazbin hotel#asks#tutorial#art tutorial#I guess

Mmmh... Here's a post :>
Wow, I spent all day on my graphics tablet today.
On a bright note, I'm rendering in a way I like now and my screen is all fixed. I decided to make a quick tutorial on using Krita filters to help enhance your images with blurs and color corrections. I know some people dislike Krita, but I like how clean it is and it's similar to Photoshop.
Some key notes: Keep any blur in THE BACK. Anything that's in the front should not be blurred such as the face, clothes(in the center), and bangs.
Decided to sketch some more OCS(Not mine) on one big page with past ones and use one OC to practice coloring on as well.
Obviously some are not finished, I'm just doing things at my own pace.
