Why do you cry? | {SabiGiyuu}

Sabito had always been the more confident one. He was sure of himself, he was stronger, both physically and mentally. So it seemed nothing could deter him and Giyuu found himself even insecure beside his best friend, wishing he could be like that. Giyuu cried often, he wasn’t as nearly as strong or fast as Sabito, sometimes he just wanted to curl up in a ball and hide away from the world. He figured Sabito had never wanted to do this before, had never felt so alone. He was seemingly always there to comfort, not to feel anything negative. Somehow, he always was raising Giyuu’s spirits, smiling for him even in the middle of the night when he woke up to Giyuu’s crying.
So it came as a shock, of course, to find Sabito hiding in the back, his knees drawn up to his chest and face buried in his arms. For a moment, Giyuu thought he was sleeping. What else could it be? But then, upon hearing his arrival, Sabito looked up. His face was streaked with tears and his hair was messy, sticking to his forehead from sweat; the weather was increasingly warm and they had been training earlier. Immediately, a hand darted up to rub at the lavender eyes, but it was already too late. Giyuu went over and crouched in front of him, eyebrows creased with worry.
“Sabito?” He didn’t know what to say. After all, he was accustomed to being the comforted, not the comforter. “Are you… okay?” Well that was easily answered. What was he supposed to say, though?
Sabito nodded slowly, turning his head. His cheeks were flushed slightly, but from crying or embarrassment, or the heat, it was hard to tell. “Yeah. Fine,” he mumbled. His voice was hoarse and it made Giyuu wonder just how long he had been here.
“Are you sure? You don’t look that great,” Giyuu said uncertainly.
Sabito let out a breath, then composed himself, raising an eyebrow at Giyuu’s direction. “Are you saying I look horrendous? Wow, Giyuu. Rude.”
Giyuu huffed, rolling his eyes. “No! You know what I mean!”
“Yeah, okay. Is it lunch? Why’re you here?” Sabito asked, covertly trying to change the subject. It backfired on him, unfortunately, because it only served as a reminder to Giyuu as to Sabito’s state.
“I don’t think Urokodaki-sensei is done with lunch,” he said. Then paused. “Why are you here, though? Why were you crying?”
“You know, Giyuu. You don’t just ask people that when they’re upset,” Sabito said pointedly.
“But you are upset, right? What’s wrong?” Giyuu asked, settling down next to him, crossing his legs and leaning his head back against the wall.
Sabito shifted to turn his back towards Giyuu, drawing his legs down and placing his hands flat on his lap. “No reason. Should we train before the food is ready?”
Giyuu frowned and scooted over to sit in front of him again. “Sabitooo, tell me what happened! You don’t usually cry!”
“Nothing happened! I’m fine!” Sabito said. Abruptly, he stood, making Giyuu tip back. He lent him a hand and Giyuu took it, standing as well. “Let’s train, okay?”
“No! Tell me why you were crying or I’ll tell Urokodaki-sensei!” Giyuu retorted, placing his hands on his hips and trying to look stern.
Sabito bit back a smile at the sight and shook his head. “It’s nothing, Giyuu.”
“Uhm, nothing isn’t you crying for the first time in your life!” Giyuu said defiantly.
“First time…?” Sabito asked incredulously. “Damn, that’s quite an assumption.”
Giyuu’s frown deepened. “I’m going to Urokodaki-sen-”
“Okay–” Sabito interrupted. He didn’t want their mentor to know he was going off hiding and crying, although he had a hunch Urokodaki would only be worried. “Okay, fine. But seriously, it wasn’t anything. I was just sad or whatever.”
Giyuu tilted his head to the side, his arms falling. “Sad about what?”
Sabito let out a breath. “Okay, not sad? Tired? I don’t know.”
“Oh. You should sleep,” Giyuu said matter-of-factly.
A bitter smile rose on Sabito’s face and Giyuu stepped back slightly. It was strange to see him like this, and the abnormality of it sent a small panic in the ravenette’s mind.
“It’s not that easy,” Sabito said. His voice was calm, but if Giyuu focused, he could hear a hint of contained exhaustion laced between the words.
“Why? Have you been training too much? Are you sore, or something?” Giyuu asked, confused.
“No! Just, like, tired of… living? I don’t know,” Sabito repeated, running a hand through his hair. The peachy waves slumped against his forehead, as if they were tired too.
“Wha–but, but Sabito, you told me that– You said I should– But– Why would?-” Words came tumbling from Giyuu’s mouth as he cut himself off several times, not knowing what to say. Sabito? Not wanting to live? What world was he in?
Sabito shook his head. “Okay, it’s not exactly that. I’m just tired of dealing with being alive, but it’s not like I actually want to die, that’s… no. I still want to save people and everything, but the road to that is getting exhausting and I guess it just all caught up to me.”
Giyuu nodded slowly, trying to take that in. “Okay… Good. Because you have to live! I couldn’t do a thing without you.”
“Well you can’t rely on me for everything,” Sabito said, pushing him playfully.
Giyuu stumbled back, shaking his head. “No, well, I won’t! I’m not! …wait, am I? But that’s not what I mean! You still help me just by being alive and like I know you’re safe,” he explained, trying to find the words to describe it.
“Oh. Awhh, so sentimental, Giyuu,” Sabito teased, a smile grazing his lips. He reached forward, pulling Giyuu into an awkward embrace. “Love you too.”
“Eh? Sabito!” Giyuu whined. “Anyway, you don’t have to cry ‘cuz… ‘cause I’ll, uhm, always be here,” he concluded stupidly.
Sabito laughed. “Well, aren’t I the lucky one. But in all seriousness, Giyuu, I do care about you. In case you haven’t noticed.”
Giyuu smiled. “I do too.”
“Okay, good, because I would be mad if you didn’t.”
“Huh? Really?”
“No. That was a joke.”
Giyuu glared at him, trying to get out of the hug. Urokodaki appeared, his head popping up from around the corner of the house.
“Lunch is ready! And what are you two doing here?” he asked, doing a double take.
They untangled themselves from each other.
“Nothing…” Sabito said quickly. “C’mon, Giyuu. I’ll race you there.”
He darted off and Giyuu, only just registering his words, shouted after him. “SABITO! THAT’S NOT FAIR!!”
Urokodaki sighed, though he bore a smile under his mask. “Don’t run inside the house!”
His order was met with a half-hearted, muffled, “SORRY!” from inside as he made his way back to the front.

Get to know: Mari(lyn) Kaizumi! ☁️
A well known OC in this blog!!!
Tumblr media
Mari Kaizumi is a young fellow 14 year old whose a ranked hashira demon slayer! She's a brunette with yellow tips at the ends of her hair strands along with her hair strands. Her hair is neatly tied with a black bow. She has green eyes and tan-ish skin.
VOICE CLAIM FOR MARI
About her personality + Other things
Mari usually is closed off and quiet, perhaps harsh at times but she mostly just doesn't speak unless needed to/wants to. She can be cruel at times, but it's mostly only with her missions. Although she has another side, a more childish and carefree with the ones she's close with, especially her dear older sister, Riko, Muichiro and her relatives. She is indeed biased in short. Sometimes, she's also mischievous and scares a specific cousin of hers when she feels like it.
She's quite airheaded and tends to get distracted by anything around her sight... Hence why her crow, Yakumo has to accompany her at all times to ensure she doesn't get into any trouble... But she can become very focused with something that interests her (for example: training and fighting demons). Though, when I say very focused; I mean it. When becoming hyperfixated on something, she'll neglect her own well-being. She would need to be reminded by her crow or anybody close to her to take care of herself.
Mari isn't afraid to use violence when necessary, even going as far as breaking one's arm just for a mission. She believes violence is a necessity if one isn't complying.
Mari's motivation to be a demon slayer
After a fateful encounter with a demon and saved by a demon slayer, finding out that her sister is a slayer motivated her to become one as well. She has a few motives as to why she wants to be one, but she wanted a good excuse to be with her sister and spend a lot of time with her. But at one point, Mari fell into the mindset that she was born to be a slayer and that that her only purpose is to save and kill demons. That mindset is also worsened by the fact she felt like she was worthless as she was never good at anything.
She uses cloud breathing, learning it after having a dream of it (or more so an inherited memory. She's however unaware that Cloud breathing was a breathing style taught by her ancestors)
In battle, she is surprisingly well focused. She focuses on two things: Protect people and kill the demon(s). She focuses so much on those two, that sometimes, she might ignore her own injuries. And herself maybe…
Fun facts about her:
Her favorite food is croquettes! Especially ones filled with cheese and meat... And if her sister made it. Though, she always was a huge fan of her sister's cooking so it's no surprise...
Her birthday is at April 30!
She's 4'8. And often, she's confused to be younger than she actually is due to her height...
When she becomes sick, she succumbs to a more childish and even more airheaded personality. She needs to be supervised when she's sick cause she'll try to go somewhere, despite her sickness...
Speaking of Mari being sick: She would have her hair down during those times. She doesn’t like the idea of accidentally breaking or damaging her bow, especially since she isn’t gonna be able to think straight.
When Mari was younger, she was much ruder to anybody aside from her sister and the Tokito twins. That of course changed over time, now she's slightly less rude.
For some odd reason... She doesn't like getting near any large bodies of water. She would try to avoid them as much as possible.
She's a sweet tooth. She loves sweets.
Her favorite season would be fall due to the cloudy weathers and the orange trees! She often would have fun piling up leave and diving into them!
Her hobbies mainly consists of either training or spending time with her older sister and/or Muichiro! If not, she would try to cook, or maybe cloudgaze.
Mari is not afraid of bugs. Infact, she would let spiders around her body, especially as a way to scare her clingy cousins off... One time, she let a big spider rest on her hair and it petrified Riko...
Marilyn means "Star of the ocean"!
She has a huge attachment to her bow. She always preferred wearing it all the time.
She used to bite people when she was young.... Yeah. She still bites people if necessary.
Mari knows a bit about chopping up wood from her visits to the Tokito family.
Aside from cooking and swordsmanship, Mari isn't really great at anything......-
In kimetsu academy: She's a 2nd year in middle school. She's in the gingko class! She gets along with Koyuki!
Speaking of kimetsu academy: She’s best at P.E!
Mari (And Riko) is somehow naturally strong. She was able to pick up Muichiro one time. It's somewhat odd though... Since she's somehow a natural at being a demon slayer too.
Mari experiences allergy seasons.
She surprisingly doesn't get scared often. Mari could be jumpy when getting jumpscared (and even sometimes, she wouldn't jump). Although she WILL get scared when her sister is mad (especially at her)
More information, now regarding her role as a hashira here!
Relationships:
Riko Kaizumi - Her older sister. She and Mari are very close! Riko was basically her parental figure growing up as their parents suddenly neglected Mari when she was 4. Mari is clingy to her sister and would (mostly) listen to anything her sister says. She learns a lot of stuff better if she taught her. The thought of upsetting her makes her guilty... Mari is usually seen accompanying her!
Tomoki Kaizumi - Her late older brother. Mari unfortunately doesn't remember much about her brother. But she did knew from her sister that they had a decent relationship prior to his passing.
Muichiro Tokito - Her first friend and lover! They've known each other since they were 8-9 and have such a close relationship! Even after he lost his memories, Mari still was a little close to him, but it wasn't the same as before. But after he regained his memories, the two became closer than ever once again. They're biased for each other...
Yuichiro Tokito - Another first (or maybe second) friend she made! Although she wasn't as close with him as with Muichiro, they still were close! Mari would often try to offer him her help after his parents passed, but he always refuses it. She was devastated when she heard of his passing.
Her parents - She... Honestly doesn't like them too much. She hates her mom especially, and she gives no shits about her dad. They didn't really care much about her aside from basic necessities. They didn't even notice her disappearance until a month later.
Her aunt and uncle/ Mrs. and Mr. Minami - She sees them as her parent figures rather than her actual parents! After meeting them while in a mission, she has been writing letters and visiting them ever since. She's even treated as their own child... In fact she could be considered a favorite in the family.
Her cousins (The Minami siblings) - They also adore her! Especially Misaki who often tries to do anything to spend time with her. They often cling onto her for attention, aside from Kei, the eldest cousin. Mari sees them as her siblings too!
Milo Suzuki - A great friend of hers! She bonds well with Milo and often write letters to her and hang out with! Often, she invites Milo to try out her sister’s cooking.
Yumera Hirobe - A close friend of hers! She often comes up to her for advices and writes letters to her as well! She does get worried sometimes over her overworking problems, but thinks it's a normal thing to experience.
Oumi Etsuko - ..Once again, another close friend of hers! Despite her menacing aura, Mari and her are surprisingly great friends. She has a moon accessory given by her !!
Here’s a reference to what she uh… looks like!

An open book | {KokuZan}
Tumblr media
Theme: Rollercoaster of self discovery and floof<3
×××
You would assume that after living for centuries (almost a thousand years, actually), Muzan would have a good grasp at the properties of emotions. Especially with all those hearts. But that was, in fact, apparently not a perk of a long life. Despite staying physically young, around the age where love becomes an appealing road in life, Muzan's emotional knowledge wasn't quite as evergreen. Because humans were seemingly constantly about 'love' and 'friendship' and all that shit he never understood, it was reasonable for him to be panicked about falling for his, per se, employee. Or, to put it bluntly, a man whom he had turned into an inhuman, basically cannibalist, six-eyed demon 3 centuries ago: Kokushibo.
Obviously, he didn't grasp what he felt was attraction for Kokushibo for about a decade before noticing it. It was all a stranger to him, atypical to his lifestyle. He preferred to ignore it. But as the years flew by, he found himself unable to disregard his feelings. Not when his breath hitched almost sensually when Kokushibo's eyes flicked towards him even for a second, not when the tranquil voice murmured his name briefly as a response to an order. It overwhelmed him, all this emotion. He didn't understand himself and he found himself searching for an answer, an explanation to this phenomenon.
He didn't tell anyone, but if you asked the caretakers of the houses he pretended to be a child in? He was drawn to books about botany and, curiously, romance. He sought a confirmation to his feelings, he wished to find a reason for why Kokushibo made him feel so strange in such beautiful ways. The mystery of it excited him, in a way. He was drunk on his love for the man, chasing after it but falling back just enough so he would never notice him, lurking a couple meters away.
This was unlike anything he would've imagined, really. Life had always just been to keep living without too much inconvenience, to find the Blue Spider Lily and simply not die. And this? The unpredictability of it all?
Sometimes, he was unable to decide if he was drawn in by this or pushed away. It was all so alluring yet terrifying because he didn't understand it, he couldn't control it. And it somehow made it all the more captivating. From time to time, he was tempted to stray away. Try to keep Kokushibo far from him for as long as possible, to keep him out of his mind. To see him solely as another stepping stone for his plans. And yet—
And yet he found himself running back to Kokushibo like a lost puppy. In his mind, it was a weakness. Making him pathetic and stupid and—and it didn't even matter anymore. Not when Kokushibo was so close—a breath away—hand in hand—and—and it was all a wish, and it was all a wonder.
Love, was it? According to the thousands of books he had pored over, this was what it was called. He had been referring to it with this word but he had never truly understood it. In a way, every book described it differently. Butterflies, heart eyes, obsessiveness. The beauty of it, the enchantment. Or was it feeling a sort of connection, love at first sight? Soulmates? But what was it? It fit; it didn't. It was far too complicated for him, a poly of brains or not.
He tried to run away from it. It became far too much and over two centuries of pondering it only made him wish he had never realized it. Of course, it was more than that. The longing of it hurt him almost physically. He figured Kokushibo couldn't see him the same. Not the man with the cold exterior, with the stern voice and... and beautiful eyes.
Sometimes, when he went out, Muzan would wander through forests in the dim light of the moon. He would sit by a stream, running his hand through it, letting the water slip through his fingers. When he saw Kokushibo, he wanted to do the same with his hair, let the strands tangle with his hand, let it pull him into the man as if he wasn't already doing that from a single glance.
The intensity of this love was dubiously contradictory, making Muzan want to both run away and run to him, wanting to punch him for making him feel like this, wanting to fall into his arms. He hated it but it pulled him forward and he found himself ordering Kokushibo to his room in the Infinity Castle without thinking.
It was night. The window was open and the illusion of the midnight overhead—the castle was nowhere and everywhere—twinkled as if knowing something Muzan didn't. There was the faint echoing twang of Nakime's biwa before Kokushibo appeared, kneeling to a bow instantly upon his arrival. Muzan had him stand, had him walk over. Neither knew what he was doing. What was he doing? Was he insane? He must be.
His voice was calm, despite the nervous wreck of chaos in his mind. When he spoke, he kept his gaze on the desk, on the floor. He did not dare look at Kokushibo as words slowly slipped from his lips, pouring out in a rush like a tap of water flowing more and more as the handle turned. He told him about how he felt, going into explicit detail because he was unsure if Kokushibo was as clueless about this as he had been; as he was. When he let the final words leave his throat, he felt so exposed. An open book in Kokushibo's hands.
The silence became unbearable but he couldn't bring himself to look up. He had closed his mind, making an effort to not read Kokushibo's mind, to give him a sense of privacy. He was sorry he hadn't looked up, however, when he finally steeled himself for a small glance. Kokushibo's eyes were all wide, the golden pupils setting their gaze on Muzan. His hands were held awkwardly by his side, his cheeks flushing color into his pale skin.
There was a pause in which neither spoke. Then, wondering if he should clarify, Muzan cleared his throat.
"What I meant to say..." he mumbled, "I love you, Kokushibo."
More silence. He didn't understand. Was Kokushibo disgusted? Often, in the books he had read, the main lead and/or character seemed to tend to become a beet red. But it came from embarrassment and attraction, so what was it? Was Kokushibo embarrassed that Muzan was saying this to him and not knowing what to say?
For a moment, Muzan considered reading Kokushibo's mind. He needed an answer and he was growing impatient and feeling humiliated as fuck. He could always force Kokushibo into a relationship with him, but it felt wrong. It wouldn't be genuine and for some reason, that felt like it wouldn't soothe any of Muzan's longing.
In the end, he opted to give the Uppermoon the silently promised privacy. Instead, he spoke again, trying to urge a response from Kokushibo. "Could you respond?" he asked softly. "I will not punish any answer. You're free to say as you wish."
Kokushibo seemed to regain his composure ever so slightly at this and nodded slowly, letting out a breath. "Ah... apologies, master."
Muzan waited. He was forcing himself to be patient. He wanted an answer—needed one. But it wouldn't come with pressure. Besides, if the roles had been swapped, he was sure he would be as dumbfounded as Kokushibo was, so he couldn't blame him. Eventually, after another minute or two of endless anticipating quiet, Kokushibo drew in another breath to ready himself. Muzan glanced back up—he had been staring down at his hands, busying himself to ignore the rising humiliation that reddened his face.
"If I am understanding and interpreting correctly, you're telling me that you love...? me? And wish... to have a romantic relationship with me?" Kokushibo said slowly, more to himself as he tried sorting through Muzan's rant.
"Yes. You understood perfectly," Muzan agreed. In fact, it was quite a fine summary that could've saved Muzan a lot of time in the explanation.
Kokushibo nodded again, seeming to be pacing his own thoughts as if Muzan's weren't racing, too. "Am I to accept or decline?"
"...yes. You are at free will to reject the... question," Muzan said, unsure how to refer to it. Proposal? No, that sounded like a marriage proposal.
"Okay." Kokushibo considered this again, concentrating on his response. He seemed to always choose his words carefully, although that was reasonable given that a single wrong inflection in his tone could probably get him killed (by Muzan). "I would... like to accept."
This stunned Muzan, perhaps more than it should've. But then again, nobody had ever wished to be with him before. Not if you didn't count the masochistic bunch of demons he had, and even a great number of them feared him more than revered him. So Kokushibo accepting him—romantically, might he add—and agreeing to be in a relationship with him, which quite as much hinted that he reciprocated the feelings? Honestly, anybody would be surprised.
"Really?"
"Yes."
There was a moment of processing as Muzan contemplated his next actions. What the hell did couples even do? It wasn't like the books were all that helpful; many contained places far in Europe or America, in the sun, or just relatively unavailable things. But then, it was night. The stars were out and Nakime could simply teleport them to a place without light pollution. Silence was nice when it was comfortable, right?
He nodded to himself. "Kokushibo?"
"Yes, sir...?"
"Don't call me that," he said, more as an order.
"Yes, master."
"...or that," Muzan said with a sigh.
"Apologies..."
"You may call me Muzan, in other presence or not."
If Kokushibo was surprised, he did well in hiding it. "Of course, Muzan-sama."
Growing slightly irritated, Muzan ignored the suffix and let out a breath. "Would you like to accompany me outside?"
"Of course. I would... enjoy that," Kokushibo murmured. There was a hint of content in his voice and it gave Muzan more confidence.
"Very well." Signaling to Nakime, the two demons found themselves in an old building far from any large cities. There was the occasional glint of a lantern from the towns below the hill the building stood on but neither's attention strayed to the lights as they settled down by each other, sitting side by side.
Muzan gazed up at the sky, the stars flickering like the mirage in the window back at the Infinity Castle. This time, they seemed different. Proud, even. Of Muzan? Certainly, he was proud of himself. It wasn't even the fact that he had overcome yet another challenge before him, but the fact that Kokushibo sat only a foot away, his warmth radiating gently in the cool air of the night.
Muzan's hand was resting by his hip, propping him up. Slowly, it slipped towards Kokushibo as he lent his weight to the hand. It wasn't until Kokushibo's hand entwined in his own that he realized their proximity. They were mere inches apart and Muzan felt suddenly hyper aware of his hearts beating quickly. He was sure Kokushibo could feel his quickening pulse, wondering if the heat rising in his face was making the night air warmer. He leaned slowly to the side and his head grazed Kokushibo's shoulder. For a moment, he wondered if Kokushibo would recoil. When nothing happened, he let himself lean against the Uppermoon, feeling the tranquility of the night sooth him again. He let out a gentle breath, feeling the anxiety over everything leave with the exhale. He relaxed, then, for possibly the first time in his life, against Kokushibo. His boyfriend, now.
His eyes fluttered closed and as he sat there by Kokushibo's side, he felt a smile graze his lips. He understood, suddenly, even for just this moment, why humans seemed to go to impossible lengths to chase after love. It really did make it all worth it. Yes. It was worth the wait.
