Disorganized thoughts on Wyll's childhood, Ulder's parenting, and the Ravengard family in general; warning for somewhat graphic description of death in childbirth.
1) That line about Ulder "feeling a strange gravity drawing him away from his son"?
That's trauma, buddy.
I know a parent having their child placed in their arms for the first time is supposed to feel an overwhelming sense of love and happiness, a giddy whirl as their world realigns itself to center forevermore on this vulnerable little creature placed in their care, etc. etc. I know a lot of people like to conclude that since Ulder didn't, he can never really have loved his son.
Can we stop for a moment and consider that Ulder just watched the woman he loved die? And dying in childbirth doesn't look like Padmé Amidala, folks. Francesca Ravengard didn't sigh out her last breath in a clean, sterile room because she'd just Lost The Will To Live (TM). Her death was bloody, and agonizing, and it took hours, and there was nothing anyone could do because trying to heal the damage to the birth canal before the baby was out would've made the situation worse.
(Ulder Ravengard is a soldier. He's seen hundreds of people die, killed many with his own hands. Most of them died quicker and cleaner than Francesca did.)
So here Ulder is. His wife is dying. He has a son - Wyll, they were going to name him Wyll after Ulder's favorite great-uncle - and he was going to be a good father, better than his own, but Wyll was supposed to have a mother, too, and he won't. Ulder was supposed to have Francesca there, who was so much better at being gentle, and he won't.
Can we maybe stop blaming Ulder for not having the Requisite Rush Of Joy at a moment like that? Can we maybe, as a fandom, try to recognize that trauma happens even to characters who aren't everyone's favorites? Can we possibly even consider that, since the next thing we know about Wyll's upbringing is that Ulder used to take him for outings and read him fairy-tales and kept a diary all about how much he loved Wyll, it just may be the case that his reaction to first meeting Wyll didn't set the tone for their entire relationship?
2) Ulder was a single parent but he would not have been Wyll's sole caregiver. He just wouldn't. I know that's the image Larian created for us, whether out of their usual lack of care about the writing surrounding Wyll or because they thought the later breach would be more Dramatic if Ulder had been the only person Wyll had or cared about as a boy, but the setting doesn't allow for it.
Faerûn doesn't have microwaves, washing machines, disposable diapers, baby bottles, or daycares. Taking care of a child and a home is a full-time job. Wyll would've had a nurse, most likely; Ulder is an officer, he can afford it. Later on, it seems Wyll tagged along with his father to work sometimes, as he mentions running messages for Ulder as a boy and having a fishing spot near Wyrm's Rock, but at least up until he was in school that simply wouldn't have been practical.
(It's also possible that extended family would've helped. Or, you know, maybe Francesca was an orphan with no kin left alive. Maybe Ulder's family life was so shitty he has no contact with his parents, or with the three older brothers mentioned in prior canon. We do not know! It is lazy on Larian's part a mystery!)

this fandom….man, oh, man….they believe anything and everything. it’s actually insufferable. we have less than 2 weeks until season 4 starts filming, i need them to put out the sophie announcement NOW. this is just ridiculous, like this is not marvel. it’s bridgerton. i still believe masali is 100% sophie. these people don’t get she cannot be a gender bent michael, that’s literally incompatible with how they wrote the world of bridgerton. it doesn’t work lol.
Honestly it’s no coincidence that those peddling this crap all have variations of the same MO.
I was not born yesterday. Anybody can come into someone’s inbox (anonymously) and say whatever they please. Anybody can claim they have a source/friend who works in the industry/at Netflix/is a journalist(seriously I’ve never seen this many people who have such friends). Anybody can claim they are a journalist or work at Netflix.
These people have claimed it all yet no one has provided a shred of actual evidence(ex. stills or audio) to back up their claims. Most of their claims don’t make any sense(Benedict is next yet they haven’t casted Sophie and he’s going to have a threesome with a man?) and they constantly contradict each other(sister vs. cousin thing when John is a confirmed only child; Eloise is next, no Benedict is next, no Francesca is next🤦🏽‍♀️).
If you’ve read the books or paid any attention to the show at all those claims straight up make 0 sense. Benedict is supposed to be just floating around fiddling life away right before Sophie comes in. He’s right on target in the show.
Michael’s gender is just as integral to the plot as Sophie’s. Michael becomes the Earl of Kilmartin because he is John’s closet male kin(they are first cousins via their fathers who were twins). He has severe guilt because of that. He is a rake and had quite the reputation because he is a man and men are afforded to do as they please. Fran struggles with her fertility and decides to remarry because she wants children. You change Michael’s gender and you change everything about WHWW.
Not to mention that as the Bridgerton verse stands gay marriage is illegal. Gay people have to live in hiding. Fran and this fanmade character they have come up with cannot have a happy ending.
I see y’all trying to compare your delusions to Benophie, but while they aren’t exactly taking part in society, Sophie was Benedict’s legal wife. They have children and they have a life together where they don’t have to hide their love and their union.
If that isn’t enough think of the money Netflix/the pun locs hers would be losing out on making such a fucking idiotic decision. Selling a gender-bent WLW tragic romance to a mostly straight women audience will not go over well.
Or how about how it would look casting Masali, a dark skinned Black woman, in a role meant for a man.
I’m just going to come out and say it, a large part of this fandoms gullibility is due to the fans inherit anti-Blackness.
Even though this show is a Shondaland production, Shonda herself is a Black woman, and she prides herself on creating content for Black people, they don’t want a Masali to play Sophie Beckett.
That’s where these rumors begin and end. With people not wanting Masali or any other Black woman(cause even if Masali isn’t Sophie not for one moment do I think that Sophie won’t be Black) to be Sophie Beckett.
So with that said, until I see the last two episodes with my own eyes (or by some miracle they let Masali appear with Luke on The View or GMA next week)I refuse to believe the lies of the deluded.

The Garden is a song about being queer in a religious community and idk I feel like Togachako's whole "weird" thing they had going on was also for being queer and anyway, Ochako repressed her feelings a lot and I like to see this verse as Himiko telling her to stop repressing herself

In the wake of Thanned, Fringilla and Francesca both struggle with sleep.
Returned to Xin'trea, Fringilla slept poorly.
There had been a time when she found the beds in the capital to be the most luxurious she had ever slept in, the rooms indulgent and inviting. The halls had gleamed with brilliant marble. The gardens had flourished, awash in color.
Nilfgaardian army camps knew few comforts, even for high-ranking mages, and she had spent months on a threadbare bedroll among stinking latrines and crass infantrymen. In the wake of defeat at Sodden, she had endured grueling marches as she pushed the stragglers and their prisoners south.
After the pillow of tree roots and seeping night rain, even the most plain Xin'trean bedchamber had been an exquisite comfort. 
It should have been the same after freeing herself from a reeking dungeon. No more mildewed straw and muck of the overflowing chamberpot. Returned victorious from Thanned, the favor of the Emperor once more hard-won, Fringilla should have slept like a milk-drunk babe.
Instead, despite her bone-deep exhaustion, she lay awake.
She needed a drink.
With freedom from the wine-stained dungeons, it should have followed that she could not stomach the stuff, but instead it was the lucidity of the sober quiet that she could not bear.
The corridors that led to the palace wine storage were familiar enough now for her to navigate in the faint light from the moon, so familiar that there was no need to even leave her bed. She closed her eyes, followed the path with her thoughts, and tugged a bottle from a shelf into her hands.
A frivolous waste of magical energy. 
Fringilla could not bring herself to feel any shame over it. Not any longer.
A hot curl of shame did strike her when a knock came in the small hours of the morning and she opened the door of her chambers to a tear-stricken Francesca. The elf was resplendent in a gauzy nightdress, exceedingly beautiful even in her grief, and Fringilla’s heart dropped to her stomach at the sight of her.
If either of them had good reason to drink themselves to sleep each night, it was Francesca. 
In scarcely a year, she had lost her long-awaited newborn babe, her brother, her partner, and countless kin. Even the elves’ recent victory at Thanned and glorious return to Xin’trea had come at the price of denying the Scoia’tael from its refuge. It was a city of elders and the sick. Francesca herself a puppeted queen of a scorned realem
What sorrow had Fringilla ever known that compared to that? 
She had stared down at her uncle’s body and felt nothing at all. No kinship. No regret. 
Nothing to compare to the burden of Francesca’s loss.
Beckoning her in, Fringilla burgeoned the fire high with a word and summoned a glass to pour wine for the both of them, as though she hadn’t been sitting up in bed taking long pulls straight from the bottle.
She felt almost sober, though these days, it was hard to tell. 
Rather than settle in a chair by the fire, Francesca accepted her glass of wine and settled in Fringilla’s bed. The covers had been mussed by her endless tossing and turning, and something about the sight of the elf sitting there, light by the fire and staring pensive into the blood-red wine, made Fringilla feel like weeping herself.
Neither spoke. What could truly be said? 
Fringilla settled cross-legged on the bed, feeling like a girl. Though as a girl in Aretuza, she had never sat beside another in the dwindling hours of night the way other girls had. No one had liked her enough. Too uptight, too bookish. Francesca would not have liked her then. Perhaps was only here now because Fringilla had inserted herself into the fray at Thanned at the last moment and by chance, she was still her now. 
As Francesca leaned to press their wine-stained mouths together, Fringilla’s first thought was imagining the likelihood of such a thing occurring in a world where Filavandrel had lived. Elves were not chaste and monogamous partners by any means, but what could Fringilla give that another lover couldn’t? 
All that drew them together was the loss they had shared. 
In the pool of the sheets, Fringilla touched her mouth to soft skin that she had ached to touch for ages and wished to be more wine-drunk than she was.

As fictionkin (or spiritual kin in general), your past lives don't need a timeline that makes sense. For me, my soul is made into many parts. Ula is my main fictotype and in my life as her, I had a wife.
I had another past life, as Francesca. Francesca lived around the same time Ula did, and were from the same universe. Their lives were concurrent. They lived at the same time. However died different times.
Essentially; I am fictionkin of both of them and they were married in their past lives. Does that make sense now? /nbr, not passive aggressive

Chest 1: Francesca abhorred her father’s reluctance to meet the dh’oine on the field of battle. She saw his isolation from external affairs as a cowardly act, and one that spat in the face of all elves wishing to live free from persecution. But despite her incessant beseeching, Simlas refused to send his subjects to their slaughter and forbid his daughter from getting involved. Alas, his words fell on deaf ears. Inspired by the infectious rhetoric of the warrior elf Aelirenn, Francesca defied her father’s orders, mustered her kin, and joined the rebellion.
Chest 2: Simlas' forlorn prophecy came to be. The rebellion was short-lived, and in the wake of human conquest lay a generation of elves thoroughly suppressed and mercilessly slaughtered. Francesca was lucky enough to survive the doomed venture, yet her brash nature had cost her much. Most of her companions were dead, and the future potential of her race all but obliterated. In addition, her father, enraged by her betrayal, disowned her, vowing that words would never break between them again⁠—a promise he would keep until the end of his days.
Chest 3: There was a time when Francesca’s decisions were guided by fiery impulse, governed by a desire to act swiftly in place of calculated tact. A lifetime of mistakes, however, can work wonders in cooling one’s hot-headedness, and slowly but surely, she became the dispassionate tactician her father had once wished her to be. But even he would recoil in horror to witness the pact she later made with the Nilfgaardian Emperor.
Scroll 1: There was a time in Francesca Findabair’s life when she did not even remotely consider the advantages of diplomatic tact. She believed direct action was the best way to ensure survival, especially when regarding humans⁠—a race renowned for their lustful expanse and underhanded methods.
Scroll 2: When speaking of these oppressive foreigners, she frequently quoted her father, the elven Sage Simlas Finn aep Dabairr, regurgitating the words she had often heard during childhood. ‘Only those lacking sense,’ her father would spit with pure contempt, ‘would trust the word of a dh’oine.’
Scroll 3: Yet, her father had long since changed his tune regarding the humans. Or, at least, altered his pitch. For he had used a magical orb of insight to witness shimmers of the future, and saw that war with the ape-men would only lead to the annihilation of elves.
Scroll 4: Not wanting to lead his kind to their deaths, Simlas swallowed his pride and entered a peace treaty with the humans, hoping the act would save the elves from massacre. Unfortunately, he could not halt the incoming destruction, as forces both within and without conspired against him. And one such force bore the face of his unruly daughter.

Thats all very interesting to hear /gen, I get the last part, oftentimes the monster high characters get sexualized and it often grosses me out to no end, even if my kins were adults, the canonical characters are still minors.
And thank you! Honestly letting you in on a little thing, Frankie was just my nickname, my name was actually Francesca. As much as others dont know much about monster high I swear everyone can recognise draculaura from a distance. I get a little envious about that but hey, I don't mind. I mean why would I get upset my wife gets recognition? (Yeah, the wife mention in my previous ask was about Draculaura dhdg) There's def more layers, I actually have a headshot drawing of how I looked as Frankie that I submitted to a kinhelp blog.
Not knowing the other monsters was.. Something I didnt really care about I guess? Because I didn't really care that I didn't know anyone besides like, Drac. Fun fact, her name wasn't Draculaura either.

3. What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?
Mercy: Mercy had a good relationship with her family. Her father was very proud of her when she decided to be a lawyer. He instilled her hatred for bullies and to right wrongs. He was a little concerned when she got with Nate - because he was in the military. She wonders if he'd be proud of her now...and misses him.
Frankie: This is a Very Touchy Subject. Frankie's father is the Head Prophet for a Texas based Fundamentalist Children of Atom cult. He raised Francesca (Frankie) to believe in God and Atom, to be humble, and to be a dutiful wife. He pretty much failed in all of these. Frankie isn't sure she loves him, but she does fear him dragging her back into the cult and forcing her into marriage.
Sparrow: Sparrow lost her father when she was 11 to a slaver raid. Before he died, Sparrow loved him completely. He was her daddy, her world, her safety. He died trying to protect his family. Her new Papa, Birdie, is gentle and sweet and a good cook, loves her and she loves him. She knows he'll always be there to protect her, and she'll be there to protect him.
9. Is your character’s current socioeconomic status different than it was when they were growing up?
Mercy: It's hard to quantify if her current socioeconomic status is different because everything is different. Like, over 200 years and a nuclear war different. So yes?
Frankie: Yes - it's much improved. She makes enough money to cover any new clothing she wants and never worries about food or shelter or cult members stopping by to talk to her cult-running father...plus, Beau is paid to guard travelers and whatnot by General Mercy. And Mercy has kinda...claimed them as kin...so...yeah...major improvements all around.
Sparrow: Sparrow is still "growing up" in a big way. She's only 18/19 when we first meet her and she's practically starved to death. So yes, her status has greatly improved. She spent the last 8 plus years alone with minimal food and shelter. Now, she has everything she could ever possibly need...including family.

facts (tw: domestic violence)
clementine was the product of a five year affair between logan roy and his secretary, francesca. logan agreed to support them financially under the condition that his other kids never found out about clementine. he spent a limited amount of time with her for the first few years until francesca began pressuring him to leave his wife for her. he refused and dropped out of clementine's life completely.
years after quitting, francesca developed a drug problem and died of an overdose when clementine was fourteen. she had no other family, so the police contacted logan as her next of kin. he told his wife the truth about his daughter and she convinced him to take clementine in.
she and logan were never close because of his work schedule, but the teenager went to the best all girls private school in the city and excelled in academics and sports. she graduated top of her class and was accepted into an ivy league school. shiv and connor were the only half siblings that she was semi close with.
while going to college upstate, clementine fell in love with warner, a classmate and the son of a wealthy businessman. they dated for less than a year and when he asked her to marry him their junior year, she accepted. no one in the family approved except for shiv, who wanted to support her. soon after the wedding, warner showed his jealous side, always convinced that clementine was cheating, and the physical abuse started.
one night he almost killed her during one of their fights and she ended up in the hospital with a broken collarbone and other injuries. the roy family rallied around her and it was the first time she ever felt like they truly cared about her wellbeing. logan made a deal with warner's parents that if he didn't contest a divorce, he wouldn't press charges. the family agreed and clementine finished out the school year.
since then she's created a name for herself as an interior designer in manhattan and is closer with all of her half siblings (mostly shiv). although, there's still an emotional rift between her and logan.
enjoys taking dance classes, decorating homes, shopping trips, & throwing dinner parties. she is strong willed, stubborn, warm, friendly when she gets to know people, defensive about her families wealth. dislikes talking about her mother and her relationship with logan. a fan of pastel colors & any kind of desert.

Alright so here goes:
If you’ve played the games you’ll know him.
Iorveth is an Aen Seidhe Elf.
Iorveth was the commander of the last Scoia’teal commando.
He is incredibly skilled with a bow and with a sword as well as enjoying playing the recorder.
Originally fighting for Nilfgaard until a peace agreement was made where Francesca sold out her fellow elves. All of the leaders and commanders of the Scoia’teal were rounded up to be executed. Iorveth was able to escape. Pain of the betrayal of someone he once admired just led him to want to continue to fight against those oppressing elves.
He is proud of who he is and does not feel the need to hide it. He doesn’t care if people hate him, he does what he thinks is right.
After fleeing with a small squad of elves, they started taking out northern forces except for the Blue Stripes. Vernon Roche becoming Iorveth’s biggest enemy next to Francesca Findebair.
Vernon gave Iorveth the scar on his face, in a fight where only Iorveth and one other elf survived a massacre. Roche took his eye, leaving the scar behind which Iorveth covered with a crimson headscarf. Now he just covers it with a simple eyepatch.
After the massacre he could only mourn his fellow kin as their bodies had been thrown into a ravine. He swore to get vengeance. To right the wrongs done to his people.
He allied himself with someone who said they were allies to the non human folk and they shared a goal: rid the continent of the treacherous kings.(this is where Iorveth and Geralt’s stories intertwine).
During the game there are chances to ally with Iorveth and he helps Geralt along the way. Still hating Vernon but seeing the Geralt is different, that he does not necessarily share the ideals of others and was willing to give the Witcher a chance.
Iorveth was a villain based on circumstance. His story told by anyone else might have been one of pain, and pity. He was not violent just to be violent. He desperately wanted to right the wrongs that had been done to him.
He was pushed by circumstances to the very edge of society, painfully aware that the Scoia'tael have been used in the war with Nilfgaard and have been ruthlessly sacrificed during peace negotiations. He was also determined not to let that happen again. He enjoyed a fierce loyalty from his men. None of them would ever betray Iorweth and this speaks volumes in his favor. Indeed, he was a skilled commander and as cunning as a fox.
He had been called a villain and a murderer by almost everyone. Even people he respected like Saskia. But did come to realize that the Scoia’teal ways were doomed to fail which is why he stayed to fight at Geralt and Saskia’s side in Vergen.
Then continued to support Geralt and help him save Saskia. (there are some choices that the player makes with geralt that influence what happens to iorveth.)
Iorveth does deep down have a good heart. He has been so broken and betrayed that he lost that, he needed to survive. It didn’t become about love but survival. He is a tough nut to crack, it takes time to get to know him and he will be blunt.

Someone who is very patient and ready for a bit of a hermit as a roommate. He will be very unsocial most of the time but will warm up and show care.

he is very loyal. that is one thing that can be said for him is his loyalty to those who fight beside him.

He is very aware of the scare. Elves are beautiful and he is not exception except for the scar down his face and missing eye. But he would need someone patient and ready to put in some work - this will need to be discussed as with him it will be all about chemistry.

SWAN FATE is a queer feminist appropriation of the classical ballet and block buster Swan Lake. Ursina Tossi and the ensemble EXCESSIVE SHOWING break with traditional concepts of love and fate and formulate their very own, diverse and contemporary declaration of love for dance. In SWAN FATE, the dancers play with longings, virtuosity, physicality and vulnerability, searching in the choreography and in their bodies for the traces left by Swan Lake. They also engage with the dance heritage, as well as the violent and colonial narratives and practices of ballet. To the music of the band CocoRosie, newly composed especially for the piece, not only different urban dance styles are mixed with contemporary dance. The dancers glide from one role to another. Shapeshifting between swans and humans, switching between marginalized and mainstream perspectives opens up new fantasies and imagines loving encounters between animals, humans and other beings.
