Porcelain King: Azurifel, Yehennis, Laurel, assorted rift lords. Focused on Azurifel, an immortal with many issues. You know him, you love him, he's awful. Very character-driven, so if you pick this option, you can expect more fancy character art, character ramblings,, and short silly comics

Ragtaggers: Kip & Mare, Owl, Michelline, assorted venture teams. Child adventurers in a world where day and night are frozen. My best feat of worldbuilding, so this option will get you bios and art of other teams, lots of rambling about different worldbuilding elements, and I'll even push myself to draw settings

Dusk and Norvori: Dusk....and Norvori. LOL it's just them. Two inseparable hooligans make a wild bid for freedom. You will get me drawing a lot of them, maybe some redraws of old pieces, might try and draw some urban settings, probably some funny short comic stuff

A lot of his work is special to me, including Tenet (which completely pulled the wool over our eyes and gave us a River Song lovestory with NO warning, tears were welling) and Interstellar (which as an astrophysicist it was NOVEL to see so much sci-fi accuracy on screen, and of course my physics grandfather Dr. Kip Thorne was a big consultant so I'm proud by proxy.)

Alien Day 2023 👽

Anlässlich des AlienDay 2023 stelle ich mir hier die Frage: Ist ein "Xenomorph" eigentlich sehr gefährlich? Wieso haben die "Predators" diese Kreaturen gezüchtet, um auf der guten alten Erde in Kämpfen gegen sie zu "trainieren"? Und macht das überhaupt Sinn, wenn in "Prometeus" die Xenomorphs in der Zukunft erst "erschaffen" werden? Aber wen juckt schon Logik: Aliens sind und bleiben cool, interessant, mysteriös und auf jeden Fall spannend. 

Bei allen Fans der Science-Fiction-Filmreihe Alien ist der 26. April rot im Kalender markiert, denn an diesem Tag ist Alien Day. Obwohl er erst seit 2016 offiziell stattfindet, hat es sich quasi schon etabliert, dass die Fans mit einer ganzen Reihe an Veröffentlichungen von Comics, Videospielen, Merchandise und sonstigen auf die Filme bezogenen Artikeln beglückt werden. Warum gerade am 26.04.? Dafür muss man sich den zweiten Teil der Alien-Reihe mit Namen Aliens – Die Rückkehr genauer anschauen: Der spielt nämlich auf dem Mond LV-426 (später Acheron), woraus sich nach US-amerikanischer Schreibweise das Datum ableitet: 4/26. Er ist also der perfekte Tag, um zumindest ein paar der Filme anzuwerfen (alle acht wird schwierig, aber nicht unmöglich) und Sigourney Weaver alias Ellen Ripley & Co dabei zuzuschauen, wie sie sich mit Flammenwerfern und Laderobotern ihren Weg aus dem Weltraum-Horror bahnen. Aber denkt dran: Im Weltraum hört dich niemand schreien…

2022 Reading

My reading habits for 2022 suggest that this was the year life began to creep back toward normal. For that, I am profoundly grateful.

I read a total of 110 books (I’m not likely to finish 111 before midnight December 31). The vast majority were fiction, and of the novels, most were YA, because that’s my sweet spot. Most were published in 2020 or 2021, with some earlier, and a few current. That’s because most of my reading comes from libraries.

Several years ago, I started tagging books I loved as possible Top Ten books. This year, I refined that further, with Top Twenty and Top Five. Today, I compiled the lists, only to discover I had 12 books in the “Top Ten” list. Try as I might, I could not move them elsewhere. All but one “Top Ten” are YA novels; that one is a picture book. The other lists are much, much shorter. 

As I compiled the lists, I noticed was how often the top listings came in groups. One particular library haul in August yielded three Top Tens and one Top Twenty.

this is my first time as kip so hopefully you guys enjoy him and it doesn’t flop. for now i’m going to jolt down quick headcanons and dabble the most in the secret but i will include more later.

simon happily plays video games, occasionally has some beers with his mates, and staying cool. he absolutely loves wearing crop tops and at one point expressed his love for them with a sign that read: bring it back! #croptops2020. male crop tops bang! he’s also really big on skincare and will talk to just about anyone about this particular shop he goes to.

spiderman would hands down have to be simon’s favorite superhero of all time. he loves going into stores to pick out all the spidey toys and those oddball collector items. he loves spending lots of hours reading through old spiderman comic books. watching the television shows and movies is fun as well. this boy is literally obsessed. 

however, interestingly enough, he is petrified of spiders. if he sees one then you better believe that he’ll be rushing over to ask you to get it for him.

when it comes to his secret there is actually quite a lot to bring up about it. the short version is that he is being blackmailed by someone on twitter that goes by the username aewafterhours. they have a sex tape starring simon and a coworker, a married male coworker. part of the video that doesn’t show their faces was tagged to simon with the message; if he doesn’t do what they say, the full version will be released.

who was the married man in this video with him? schylur andrews, better known as scorpio sky. you see, one day simon approached schylur while he was hanging out with christopher daniels, asking if they could practice some moves together. they got inside the ring practicing a few while some tension of sort kind of appears since simon begins teasing him, which shylur is quick to deny when daniels questions it. the teasing didn’t stop there either. it’d gotten to the point that schylur ended up confronting him about it and admitted to liking them but he wants to try working things out with his wife since they were having marital issues. simon backs off some but ultimately, schylur comes knocking on his door after yet another argument. this turned into multiple nights that he would come over to be with simon. one night in particular they decided to make a homemade sex video.

what’s the cause for the blackmail? a friend of simon’s whose partying got out of hand because he doesn’t always know how to stop felt betrayed that one night simon threw in the towel, admitting that he cannot look after him anymore. their unpredictable anger lead them to breaking into simon’s house and stealing from him with the mindset of how fucking dare simon do this to him. simon doesn’t know or atleast doesn’t want to believe that it is them.

it also doesn’t help that this former friend knows how to work simon’s secruity camera so he was able to come up with a master plan on how he could get away with it. think of a modern day pam & tommy type of drama.
