Platform 8 - Blast Review
Developer: Kotake Create Steam Deck Compatibility?: Verified Rrp: £3.39 (Steam)
This is my second time visiting the genre that is anomaly hunting and funnily enough this is also the second game I’ve covered by Kotake Create. Now, I’m going to assume that you who are reading this review knows what the genre of anomaly hunting is, if you don't, I suggest finding my review for ‘The Exit 8’(hopefully I remember to make that a link to make it easier, if I don’t… sorry about that).
Anyway, back to the review. In Platform 8 you’re stuck on a seemingly endlessly repeating train carriage. While traversing through the carriage you will see anomalies (one per carriage), in the last game you had to go back the way you came if you saw an anomaly but in this you always have to move forward. Once you’ve left that carriage the number on the electronic display above the door will increase. You need to pass eight anomalies without getting caught otherwise the counter resets to zero.
Tumblr media
You read that correctly, some of these anomalies are hostile. Each has its own set of rules, maybe it’s not moving when the lights are on or never looking back, the only way to find out is by experimenting. Just like with The Exit 8 the anomalies vary quite a bit from being somewhat mundane (if a little freaky) to some actually give a little jump scare.
This is a short and sweet game, easily completed within an hour but very worth the time. I can’t wait to play more games in this genre.
---- If you’d like to support me I have a Ko-fi, the reviews will continue to be posted donation or not.

Proving the Placement of Hyrule's Founding Period, Using In-game & Supplemental Evidence
An original Legend of Zelda hypothesis, by Lorulean Historian Created December 20, 2024 | Edited February 21, 2025
Tumblr media
Above: Comparing the first pages of the history sections from both Breath of the Wild Master Works (left) and Tears of the Kingdom Master Works (right).
Hypothesis
I strongly believe that Rauru and Sonia's founding of Hyrule Kingdom is the self-same establishment we have long heard about, yet never witnessed. That is: I believe it to be the original founding of the Hyrule Kingdom we know and love. And I have evidence to prove this!
Evidence
Breath of the Wild Master Works, P.354:
はるか昔 Long Ago 神話の時代  “The Era of Myth” ハイリア人の王族によるハイラル王国が栄える。 The Kingdom of Hyrule prospers under the Hylian royal family. The Gerudo King Ganondorf transforms into the dark beast Ganon and becomes a threat to Hyrule. Ganon is sealed by the combined power of the hero and the royal family. Ganon is resurrected and sealed many times over. 1万年以上前  Over 10,000 years ago お伽話の時代  “The Days of the Fairy Tale” シーカー族の技術により高度な文明を持つ。 Civilization is advanced because of the Sheikah’s technology.
Tears of the Kingdom Master Works, P.370:
1万年以上前  Over 10,000 years ago ハイリア人によるハイラル王国が栄える The Kingdom of Hyrule prospers under the Hylians. Calamity Ganon appears. Ganon is sealed by the combined power of the hero and the royal family. Ganon is resurrected and sealed many times over. Civilization is advanced because of the Sheikah’s technology.
This segment above from Tears of the Kingdom Master Works occurs after the Imprisoning War, and thus, after Hyrule's founding.
For further context, this segment from Breath of the Wild Master Works is expanded further on the next page, detailing points of historical significance from the other races. And under the Zora line, at this time period in Hyrule’s history, is the inclusion of the story of Zora princess Ruto and her fight against an ambitious villain who threatened Hyrule—a.k.a., Ganondorf.
See as follows:
Ruto is born to the Zora Royal Family. She awakens as a sage and fights alongside a hero and a princess of the Hyrulean Royal Family.
The above quote is also substantiated by in-game text; in particular, the Zora History Tablet no.7. I will post that quote in the “additional quotes” addendum below.
In this way, the events of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time appear to occur only after Rauru and Sonia founded their kingdom of Hyrule. And both of the master works seem to agree on that point. It does, however, leave the “how” vague and open to interpretation. How then did Ganondorf reappear later, and threaten Hyrule as if for the first time? Was the Gerudo King from the Era of the Hero of Time a natural born Gerudo male made king, or was something else going on? While it leaves such things unsaid, this silence allows the space for us to work it out. Perhaps, as my friend Instrutilus suggests, the Ganon we met in Ocarina and thereafter was simply a vessel borne of the original's hatred and malice—an “Incarnation of Darkness” put together by Koume and Kotake, who then brainwashed the remainder of the Gerudo into believing he was their trueborn king?
Deduction
With what has been presented, it seems most likely to me that the developers intended this to be a clearer depiction (a sort of “eye witness account”) of the founding of Hyrule Kingdom as we know it.
Addendum I
The Time Period of the Zonai
This carving… It seems to concur with what information I have pertaining to the Zonai. The Zonai were a civilization that existed long ago, in the Era of Myth. It’s said that they once flourished in the sky, and possessed god-like powers… Many history books tell of them, but their full story is not understood. They remain a very mysterious civilization…
— Princess Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
This means that the time period in which the Zonai existed, as well as Hyrule's founding, were considered both to be "long ago" and in "the Era of Myth". Both of these terms were used as the title and subtitle for the segment in Breath of the Wild Master Works pertaining to the history quotes in the prior section. I believe this to be further evidence that, despite using different descriptive titles in Tears of the Kingdom Master Works, these passages are almost certainly meant to cover information from the same time period.
Addendum II
The Calamity named Ganon
Since ancient times the kingdom of Hyrule has prospered… But its history is also one marked by battles against a certain threat. They brought calamity, and have resurrected despite being defeated time after time… This Calamity has been called Ganon. But here in Hyrule there were those that were born with the fate of protecting the kingdom… A swordsman who possessed the spirit of a hero, and a sacred princess descended from the Goddess…  These were the ones who appeared over the ages to oppose Ganon.
— Impa, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
It would appear that Ganon—in all of his appearances throughout Hyrulean history—has been considered so destructive that he brought only disaster; thus he is a calamity made flesh. For this reason, the people of Hyrule by the time of Breath of the Wild refer to him simply as the “Calamity Ganon”.
Addendum III
Additional Quotes (includes Images)
My ancestor—the forebear of the Hyrulean royal family… It's said that they were born from a marriage with the gods that descended from the sky. If this mural is to be believed, then those beings who descended from the sky were the Zonai… They must have fostered relations with the Hylians of the surface, and before long they established this country… The Kingdom of Hyrule…
— Princess Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
How unexpected. We founded this land of Hyrule, and it shouldn't have any other king apart from me?
— King Rauru, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
It is said that there was once a beautiful and lively princess who was beloved by the clan's people, who attended to Zora's guardian deity. But at the same time, there was someone who harboured ambitions to rule the world, and Zora's Domain too was struck by the calamity that person had unleashed. At that time Ruto became a sage, and — together with a princess of Hyrule’s royal family and a hero — faced the one who harboured those ambitions. Those magnificent achievements are not only deeply etched in Hyrule’s history, but also Zora's. Ages later, in order to oppose Calamity Ganon, the Divine Beast Vah Ruta was built. It was christened in Ruto's name. Perhaps it was fate, then, that my daughter Mipha, princess of the Zora, was chosen to master Ruta.
— King Dorephan (Zora History Tablet, Part Five), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Nabooru…celebrated in myth as sage of the Gerudo.
— Gerudo Champion Urbosa, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Two of the name origins used in their christening can be established from legend. Divine Beast Vah Ruta was named for Princess Ruto, born to the Zora royal family. And the origin for naming Divine Beast Vah Naboris comes from the Nabooru of the Gerudo. It’s been handed down that both persons battled against the Evil One together with the hero and the princess of the Hyrulean royal family as sages.
— Breath of the Wild Master Works, P.
Our mighty first king sealed the Demon King deep below this land. To strengthen the king's seal, we erected this castle and affixed it as the sanctuary’s cornerstone. When this is lost, then the sanctuary will also be lost, and the Demon King will resurrect over time. That hatred and malice will be unleashed upon this land. In other words, the kingdom’s prosperity is linked to the castle’s permanence. We pray for its eternal peace.
— Royal Hidden Passageway (plaque), The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The days of Hyrule’s creation. Only its existence has been passed down… That is what the Zonai civilization is.
— Princess Zelda, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Someone descended from Zelda, who was the reincarnation of the goddess Hylia, founded the kingdom of Hyrule. A castle was built near the Temple of Time, in the center of Hyrule, to secretly guard the Triforce in the Sacred Realm. Many individuals born into the royal family possessed extraordinary powers which ran thick in their bloodline, and princesses were repeatedly named ‘Zelda’ from historical legend.
— Hyrule Historia, P.77
“It was very difficult to depict her character as a woman who has both the receptiveness and depth of a mother, with the boldness to marry Rauru—a Zonai. The most difficult aspect of her character was her face. I struggled to find the right balance for her eyes, which should neither be too strong nor too weak, as I felt they would be too different from the image I had hoped for her. Another point I was particular about was the fact that she is barefoot despite her noble status as queen. I aimed to include a variety of things with her design, such as the naivete of her personality combined with a depiction of ancient primitive peoples, as well as the holiness of a priestess. We had the idea that she should have the image of something like the originator of all Zeldas, so we sprinkled motifs from Princess Zeldas from past ‘The Legend of Zelda’ games up until now all over her body. Have you noticed them all?”
— Designer's Note; The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Master Works, P.105
▶ Sonia, Ancestor of Hyrule's Royal Family — Among the Hylians, there were a few who possessed special powers. Chief among them was Sonia (as well as her family lineage), who was thought to have possessed particularly great power. Sonia played a role similar to that of a priestess among the Hylians of that time. She most certainly would have appeared like an incarnation of the Goddess in the way that she imparted her wisdom to everyone.
— The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Master Works, P.381
The “sealing power” has been passed down to the princesses of the Hyrulean royal family into the present-day, and Princess Zelda's mother also shared in this power. These powers are thought to be the same as Rauru's “power of light”. Princess Zelda also manifested the “power to manipulate time”. Both of these powers were likely to have been passed down from Rauru and Sonia—her distant ancestors. No mention of a child born to the first king and queen of Hyrule has been discovered amongst the founding documents that remain today, nor is there any mention of a child in surviving folklore. But since the powers possessed by the kingdom’s first king and queen, Rauru and Sonia, have continued into the present-day as the sacred power inherited through the bloodline of the Hyrulean royal family, it is reasonable to assume that they must have already had a child—and that their descendants have carried on as the royal bloodline.
— The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Master Works, P.385
The Zonai: The Ancestors of the Hylians? There is a tradition that the Hylians have such large ears to be able to hear the voice of the gods. Though if this tradition has its origins with the Zonai, it becomes much more convincing. This is because the Zonai also have the trait of “large ears,” and their tribe is regarded as the messengers of the gods. The Zonai have a larger physique and they also possess larger ears than the Hylians, so it could be supposed that they’re closer to a more primitive form. Thus, the race referred to as “having such large ears to hear the voices of the gods” may have originally been the Zonai. There may be a reason why the Zonai and the Hylians share the same characteristics and such similar origins. In fact, the idea that the Zonai may be the original Hylians is the hottest theory amongst Hyrulean historians. That’s just how much they have in common! As to when this branching off took place, the most likely explanation is that it occurred when the Zonai left for the skies. There may have been some who remained on the surface of their own volition, or they may have chosen to leave a part of their race on the surface in order to avert some crisis should one ever occur. These Zonai would have developed into a distinct tribe, which may be the origins of the Hylians. One reason for this is that, while there has been some evidence found of the Zonai interacting with the other tribes in their historical records, concerning the existence of the Hylians, things remain unclear. When the Zonai returned once more to the surface, they chose Hylians as their partners for the continued survival of their species. Perhaps their mutual attraction and mingling was born from them sharing the same origins?
— The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Master Works, P.453
It’s thought that the Zonai made their living among the sky islands for a long time. Meanwhile, on the surface, the Hylians were just starting out, and all of the other tribes were forming their own ways of life. While the Zonai did prosper in the sky, before long this prosperity was cast into doubt. Some terrible incident occurred, dramatically decreasing their population. Their race faced the danger of imminent collapse. To ensure their survival, and continue their duty to safeguard the secret stones, the Zonai chose to return to the surface once more—with the secret stones in-hand. The exact nature of the crisis which dramatically decreased the Zonai population is not well understood. Its cause was never discovered in any known literature. That said, we can speculate that it could have been a natural disaster due to depletion of resources, or genetic stagnation. Or perhaps there was a war fought over command of the secret stones themselves. Regardless, if this situation continued, the survival of the tribe would be in jeopardy, and the Zonai would no longer be able to protect and carry on the traditions of their ancestors. In order to prevent this, the Zonai chose to return to the surface. They may have thought that they could escape the danger of extinction and fulfill the protection of the secret stones by mingling with another tribe that lived upon the surface. At this time, in addition to the Hylians, various tribes formed settlements on the surface, and the Gerudo nation had emerged in the desert. Each of these tribes had their own civilization and language, but their way of life was more primitive than that of the previous Zonai civilization. Although they had some contact with each other in the early years of their ascension, no one really knew the Zonai. Therefore, the magnificent light of the Zonai descending from the heavens was seen as the descent of the gods. While there is much theory and speculation about the descent of the Zonai to the surface, one idea in particular is very interesting. It goes something like, “The Zonai descended ‘together with their city’.” Conventionally, the Zonai were thought to have descended to the surface using Zonai devices as vehicles, based on the depiction in the mural. However, as the research of the sky islands has progressed, the theory that the Zonai descended to the earth with their city upon the Great Sky Island has gained credibility… If one looks closely, the mountains depicted in the mural may represent the descent of the Great Sky Island itself.
— The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Master Works, P.380
(P.008 P.064)。 Long before the kingdom of Hyrule was ever established, there was Skyloft, an island in the sky lifted up by the Goddess. The people rode large birds called Loftwings to travel through the air. Their belief in the Goddess was deeply rooted, and those who returned to the surface can be said to be the forebears of the Hylians (p.008, p.064). In ancient times, the Sky People are said to have mingled with Hyrule Kingdom. Their sky city is said to have flourished by means of advanced technology. There is a theory that they are the ancestors of the Hylians, as well as the race closest to the gods. And then there are the Wind Folk, who guarded the Palace of Winds. They protected one of the elements necessary for the sacred blade, the Four Sword (p.079). Thus, in the skies above Hyrule, various cities have flourished in secret since time immemorial.

Famitsu Interview excerpt (2023)
——I know this is a regular question, but where does Tears of the Kingdom fit into the Zelda timeline? Skyward Sword is depicted as the originator, and Breath of the Wild is depicted at the very end. While Tears of the Kingdom is a sequel to Breath of the Wild, it also exists as a story of Hyrule’s founding, so is it the originator…? Fujibayashi: Without a doubt, this story is set after Breath of the Wild. And, fundamentally, we intend for the Zelda series' story and world to not break apart. So I can only say two things at this point. While keeping to the conditions of it “not breaking apart”, I do believe there is room for fans to think, “Wait, so that means… there’s a chance?” I would speak to the possibility that, even though this is the story of the founding of Hyrule, there is a chance that there could have been history that's been lost before this, too. We didn't produce this randomly, either, like “would it be interesting to do this here?” and that includes those things left unsaid. So I hope you will enjoy imagining it!
Lorulean’s Analysis
Reading Fujibayashi’s statement, with the context of the question posed by the interviewer, I can only draw the following conclusion: the history that’s been previously lost is none other than the events before the founding of Hyrule Kingdom. Chiefly, the events of Skyward Sword. The interviewer asked whether the founding story established in Tears of the Kingdom replaced the “origin story” of Skyward Sword for the series, and Fujibayashi’s response gives us the answer: no, it does not. And this all falls in line with previously established information (see excerpt, Hyrule Historia P.77 in Addendum III).

▲ Back with more of my LoZ au/original content. My first post on this can be found here !
In between suffering with my MA, I've been working on a lineup of the 'cast' for my LoZ original. This not exhaustive, as obviously we're still missing a Rito and a Goron. They'll be listed below from right to left :3
My Zelda story serves as a catalyst for the Hyrulean Civil War that precedes Ocarina of Time. It is a period referred to as the Era of Division and the great war at the end is the Tricenary War or the Queen's War.
Pashato & Dahri | Captain and Royal Scribe
Ganondorf's elder half-sisters, born of a different Hylian man. Their shared mother was Chieftain Rutimala. Dahri is the eldest, making her second in line to the Gerudo throne.
Pashato is the captain of the Gerudo guard and a valiant, recognized fighter. She oversees Ganondorf's armies directly and the training of Gerudo forces. She passes away in the final assault on Hyrule.
Dahri is the royal scribe and muralist, serving somewhat as a lady in waiting for Riar'svah. She would eventually become chieftain after Ganondorf's death and Riar'svah's short-lived role as chieftain. She would go on to become the Heroine of Gentleness/Compassion.
Kotake & Koume, Twinrova | Elder Witches
The elder witches to the Gerudo empire. They hold the seat of magic in the Gerudo governmental structure, intended to advise and aid the king but they specifically teach him magic in his youth. When they fuse, they form the Gerudo Twinrova.
Both are worshippers of the primordial evil, known simply to the Gerudo as Malice. (Mal'hice)
They endorsed the war with Hyrule, hoping it would bring the Triforce pieces together for Ganondorf's victory. When Ganondorf dies on the battlefield, the witches encourage the Gerudo to keep fighting and for Riar'svah to use her last resort.
Tatu | Steward of the Sword
Tatu tends to the Great Deku Tree and is privately understood as the keeper of the Master Sword. Though she is not a sage, she often sits on the council of sages as an advisory position.
She accompanies Link in his trials through the Lost Woods, searching for the Master Sword at Queen Zelda's behest.
As a Kokiri, her childish appearance can be deceptive but she is very wise and compassionate.
During the Tricenary War, she remains in the Lost Woods, protecting the Great Deku Tree and other Kokiri.
Parrane | Sage of Shadow
Parrane is a sibling of the royal advisor and defender, Impa. His work with the Hyrule royal family is mostly through his sister and his maintenance of the Shadow Temple.
As the sage of shadow, Parrane is gifted with the manipulation of shadows but this skill is highly tepid as he prefers to lean into the illusionary element of his sagely abilities. He can obscure both the physical and the mental upon touch and can create shadow apparitions to demonstrate events that have happened or visualize what he speaks of.
During the war, Parrane is the one who leads the Sheikah into battle alongside Queen Zelda.
After the war, he remains in the Hyrule royal court, outliving his queen and her hero into the next generation. There, he would be a main advocate for a unified Hyrule and would be the first to see the Shadow Temple be utilized as a torture institution.
Malan | Sage of Water
Hailing from the sea Zora, Malan holds the special place in Zora court life of Musician, playing for Jabu-Jabu to keep the patron god peaceful. However, his job is not just playing soothing harp music but to also defend the temple that protects the gardens and waters of Jabu-Jabu.
His king and queen, Inogo and Lala, believe their daughter, Ruti, to be the sage when Queen Zelda calls for the sages. Malan is recognized as the sage by Zelda on a diplomatic mission, visiting Jabu-Jabu's temple and upon hearing him play a certain tune.
Malan is awoken as sage manually by Zelda, who touches his hand.
His sagely abilities are hydrokinesis, manipulated through his trident or his hands. Often through song, he can cast powerful spells that can call on downpours, storms, and purge evil from someone.
While he survives the war, Malan returns to the Zora beaten. He is eventually exiled Jabu-Jabu's temple by the royals who align themselves completely with Hyrule.
Though he appears in some ancient reliefs, Malan's identify is lost to much of Zora history.
Ganondorf | Demon King & King of the Gerudo
Ganondorf is the relentless king of the Gerudo, his coming foretold by the 100 year cycle, preceded by the great King Naboris. He is raised by Kotake and Koume after his mother, Chieftain Rutimala is slain in battle by the Hylians. In his youth, he was taught dark magics and spells long passed down from one Gerudo leader to another. He is recognized as the Vessel of Malice.
Being the Vessel, he is regarded as the Demon King, able to transform into a large lion-like boar and wield immense magic. He suffers from bursts of unconsolable rage, destruction, and mania.
This Ganondorf is bestowed the Triforce of Power after the Triforce is shattered upon Zirda's death.
He wages war against Hyrule and her allies, a war passed down to him by his foremothers. He yearns for the land and resources of Hyrule, refusing all early diplomatic efforts by the young Queen Zelda.
Despite being highly prideful and arrogant, Ganondorf has a tender spot for that of his people, leaning on the advice of his mothers, Riar'svah, and his sisters Pashato and Dahri.
His final battle against Hyrule in the Tricenary War is an attempted and succeeded besiegement of Hyrule Castle. Unable to stop it, he transforms into a beast stronger, larger, and more animalistic than that of the form he could control. Malice's monster, he is slain by the Hero's sword and his spirit eradicated by the Queen's light.
After his death, he is immortalized in Gerudo facades and carvings. Some Gerudo historians and royals question who he is, his face lost to time like many other Gerudo kings until Ocarina of Time, when the name graces the history pages once more. He is the second to last king before Ganondorf proper, each 100 years apart from time of death.
Naboris -> Ganondorf -> ??? -> Ganondorf OOT
Riar'svah | Sage of Spirit
Born six months before the prince, Riar'svah was raised secluded in the Spirit Temple by her mother, the previous spiritual leader of the Gerudo, Palu. After taking on her mother's role, she enters the Gerudo Fortress proper. Her role is similar to that of an Ottoman Şeyhülislam.
Riar'svah and Kotake/Koume disagree and fight constantly, mostly due to Riar'svah finding Malice a dangerous force to be dealing with or encouraging.
Her role as a sage warranted some concern amongst her people, with many believing she would betray the Gerudo and Ganondorf to serve Hylia's agents. However, she remains steadfast in supporting the Gerudo above all else.
Her sagely gifts are specifically that of prophesying and channeling divine spirits into her body to grant her immense astral powers. She mostly prophesies and meditates on Ganondorf's behalf, communicating with deities for and declaring prophetic words to him.
After Ganondorf's death at the hands of the Hero and Queen, Riar'svah becomes Gerudo chieftain, waging brutal war against Hyrule. At the encouragement of Kotake and Koume, swarmed in grief, she makes a deal with Malice.
She dies atop the Gerudo Highlands, legend says she turned to stone, becoming one with the geography.
Zelda | Queen of Hyrule & Hylia's Descendant
Zelda becomes queen after the death of her father, Rhoam, who reigned as regent after Zirda's passing. From a young age, Zelda knew she was the savior of Hyrule, a burden she's carried with her.
Her Hyrule-first mentality grows only stronger after the murder of her mother and the death of her father, fueling her to rule Hyrule with an iron fist and determined hope.
She attempts many diplomatic missions and alliance reconstructions with the Gerudo and her failures pile atop one another.
She is close friends with the Hero and she views her sages as divine-inspired guardians. Impa is like a second mother to her.
Gifted by the Goddess, Zelda is proficient in light and time magic. She can prophesy at sacred locations, seal/subdue darkness, and can craft light weapons such as the light arrow.
The Triforce of Wisdom sits on her hand, appearing when her mother died.
With Ganondorf slain and Link injured, Zelda is torn. She returns to the battlefield to face a vengeful Riar'svah. Armed with the Master Sword and the power of the Goddesses, Zelda charges.
Her battle with the Gerudo sage was a pure demonstration of Hylia and Demise at odds. While she is in turmoil about creating such rage-filled sorrow, Zelda beats Riar'svah back to the Highlands.
Her only son would be four generations before the Hyrulean Civil War.
Link | Hero of Courage
From the depths of Faron, Link is a Lurelin Hylian. His parents were retired sea farers. When the Triforce of Courage appeared on his hand at a young age, he was surrendered to Hyrule Castle, destined to become the Hero.
Abandoned, Link trained ruthlessly under the royal guard, often isolated from much of everyone to preserve the courage and heroic purity of the Hero.
While he does not necessarily struggle with accepting he is the Hero of Courage, it is isolating and his village becomes that of strangers for they treat him with such reverence when their used to be friendship.
He becomes very close to Zelda during their youth and their friendship transcends mortal relationships.
When his training is deemed complete by the sages and Impa, Link is sent to the Lost Woods to unleash the Master Sword. When he does, he will carry this sword into the final battle with the Demon King. Upon his return, he is paraded throughout Hyrule Castle Town and Castle.
Link defeats Ganondorf in battle but is mortally wounded in the process. Rushed back to Hyrule Castle, he is tended to in fervent vain by the Queen and her surviving Sages. However, when Riar'svah violently storms Hyrule, he is left to suffer alone.
Though he survives, Link is mute from the damages suffered.
Zirda | Former Queen of Hyrule & Sage of Light
Deceased queen of Hyrule, Zirda reigned with a soft but iron fist, working towards unification of Hyrule under the Loftwing banner. Seated at the head of the council of sages, she urged unity but found it fell on deaf ears.
Zirda had tense relations with the previous Gerudo chieftain, Rutimala.
She is fatally wounded in battle, dying days after. This leaves the throne to her husband, Rhoam, with her early teenage daughter, Zelda, rushing to prepare for the throne. Her death was a shock to the Hylian geopolitical scene, encouraging the sages to rally their respective people to join, save for the Gerudo and Rito sages.
As sage, Zirda could manipulate and control sources of light and light itself, known to illuminate the dark and shine light on lies. Gifted by the Goddesses, she could also conjure powerful beams, shields, swords, and arrows of light.
She was the sole holder of the Triforce. Upon her death, the Triforce saw no befitting wielder and split, landing upon the Goddesses' divine players: Zelda, Link, and Ganondorf.

Changing Fate, Creating Destiny - LOZ TOTK Isekai
Part 1 2 3 (This is Part 3)
Tumblr media
What was happening? Zelda couldn’t shake the feeling that something had shifted beneath her nose. Kotake and Koume, once elusive and distant, were now... casually hanging out with Adria? It was as if they had appointed themselves her personal guards. The strangest part was how relaxed Adria now seemed around them, treating them more like friends than protectors.
When Zelda had first inquired about their constant presence, Adria only shrugged, looking as confused as Zelda was. "I don't know," she had said, "they just... started hanging around."
Zelda, in her growing concern, had asked the Gerudo twins directly why they were spending so much time with Adria. Their response? Silence. They offered no explanation, their expressions as unreadable as ever. It was unsettling.
And yet... Adria, somehow, could get them talking. Zelda had watched, equal parts amazed and uneasy, as her friend asked the two stoic women about their weapons, their jewelry, even their clothing. Adria’s curiosity was boundless and unafraid, an openness Zelda herself would never show around the witches. But Adria didn’t seem to share the same wariness.
Koume, for example, had proudly shown Adria her golden spear, embedded with a ruby that gave it the power of fire. Kotake had demonstrated her twin scimitars, each adorned with sapphires that gave them an icy sharpness. Their faces, usually so cold and severe, softened—just slightly—as they humored Adria’s interest.
There was something gentle about the way they interacted with her, even though their sharp natures were still very much intact. It was odd to see these two powerful women acting like this, their amusement apparent whenever Adria spoke with them.
Zelda couldn’t help but worry. Why were they so attached to Adria? What did they want from her? More importantly, why did Adria seem so content around them? She couldn’t deny that her friend was still very much herself—walking alongside Zelda and treating her like a sister, sharing laughter and stories just as before—but now, Adria had these two warriors practically hovering in the background, always there, always watching.
And then there was the matter of training. Zelda had overheard Kotake and Koume gently—for them—trying to convince Adria to take up some form of combat training. They hadn’t pushed, but their persistence was clear. What were they hoping to achieve?
The lack of answers gnawed at Zelda, but she had nothing concrete to go on. No evidence. No accusations. Just a vague sense that something was off. And yet, how could she say anything when Adria seemed perfectly fine with it? No, more than fine—comfortable.
It was unsettling, but for now, Zelda resolved to watch carefully. She wouldn’t make the mistake of letting her guard down, not when Kotake and Koume were involved. But she also wouldn’t push too hard. If Adria was happy and unharmed, Zelda would allow this strange arrangement to continue.
Still... she'd remain vigilant. Watching and waiting. There was more to this than met the eye, she was sure of it. But for now, she would treat the situation with care. Kindness wouldn’t hurt—but neither would caution.

hey y'all- *trips and falls*
Tumblr media
uurghrugrh Kabu she makes me so unwell
Raised ration to ration and constant poverty, Kabu was taught to be bitter towards everything around her in Gerudo Town along with her sisters, Koume and Kotake. Since the plague a few years prior killed so many, Kabu and her sisters were raised by their aunt, Alhindiba, a journalist.
One night in a bar, after a particularly bad fight with her aunt and sisters, she meets a strange Hylian named Aka. The two of them instantly hit it off and start to date.
But Aka starts to act strange. Kabu thinks it's just a shared mutual hatred of the Gerudo Royalty, but when Aka confesses that she's actually a Yiga General, Kabu realizes that she's much deeper into this than she thought she was.
Kabu decides to help Aka, mainly because she was also tired of Gerudo Town's. The new Chief and grieving daughter, Solani, instantly points fingers to Kabu's aunt, Alhindiba. Alhindiba is soon executed, and when her innocence comes to light, Solani looks towards the triplet's death next.
Enno, one of Kabu's lifelong friends, helps her, Koume, Kotake, and Aka escape, unaware of Kabu and Aka's part in it all.
When they escape successfully, the triplets officially become a part of the Yiga Clan, becoming sorceresses.
But war against the Gerudo starts to become torture for Kabu and Aka. They just can't fight against their friends, and make the decision to desert the Yiga.
Aka's wife, (yes, she's got a wife, uh oh) Katame, finds out about their plans to leave the clan. Furious, she decides to attack Aka and Kabu, killing Aka immediately and scarring Kabu severely.
tw, suicide mention in the next bit!
Kabu, distraught with being all alone, almost ends her life, until she realizes she's pregnant. She decides to raise her son, Varee, on her own and in the Gerudo Canyons, isolated from the rest of the world.
She becomes very protective of her son, being all that she even has left and the fact that he's a male; technically in line to be the next Chief. She rarely ever brings him on her occasional trip to the stables for trading, creating tension with her teenager.

so im a little new to your blog, and i just found your reincarnated blights au and i think its really neat. anyways do you know how the “plot” with them would work if they were actually in botw? idk i wanna see how their storyline goes lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you glad you like it! :D tbh I don’t really have too much about this it was just a silly idea I thought about awhile ago lol but I’ll still share :)
My original thought was that it would take place after beating all the blights and before defeating ganon like how the dlc goes. Instead of word from zelda or maz kosha, koume and kotake sets their plan in motion by contacting link through telepathy. From there somehow it branches off to each of the blights “reincarnations”. They’re not actually reincarnations but more of a host to their abilities using the remnants of the malice from each blight. The two carefully picked out each one throughout the years of link’s slumber and onward. The malice orb they’ve created feeds off strong negative energy making it easier to take control of someone. Eventually they all will fight link while a “mysterious lady” watches from close by (they’ll fight two like a finally boss type thing or something)
Hope this helps!

Finally I'm doing it. It's been over 3 months since I nearly 100% ToTK and studied every landscape on my stupid hoverbike. But here it finally is.
My big ass ToTK post.
After I completed the game, my mind was going wild with theories and possibilities about what happened to Ganondorf.
I could not and still do not believe he was 'born evil'. I think something happened to him, and it happened right around the same time Zelda showed up so we never got to see who he really was. Not entirely, anyway. I believe the evil Rauru sensed was the ancient evil spoken of in the shrines (because why else would he be so familiar with the feeling of it?) and what do we know about the ancient evil? It existed before Ganondorf. Possibly long before, because there were old looking shrines connected to lightroots in cutscenes from the ancient past before Ganondorf became the evil's source.
I believe the ancient evil is something that came from the depths. It was unleashed by the ancient Zonai due to their excessive mining. I believe they created the lightroots and shrines above to try to control it, but when they couldn't, they simply left.
Because they knew the world was doomed.
As for why the evil would have ended up with Ganondorf and not some other powerful leader? Well, before the Zonai disappeared, they must have closed up all the holes they'd used to get to the depths in an attempt to bury the problem before leaving.
All except one.
The one in the Gerudo desert which is in an area that had once clearly been inhabited, before we knew there would even be depths in the world (botw). The damn thing even is a massive plot point in both games due to the Yiga clan. It's not subtle. It's there.
So here's where the evidence ends (mostly) and the story formed in my mind. I'll be posting snippets from something me and my partner co-wrote based on my idea.
While my original plan had Ganondorf fighting the demon alone and losing (becoming possessed) only to come back home alive and be hailed a hero for his apparent 'victory', our story has Link going into the past to make sure that failure doesn't happen, and he has the souped up master sword to do it with.
---
The lightroots began to go out with no one to care for them. The ancient evil, no longer contained, started to seep forth. This thing I call a demon, was too weak to break forth immediately due to being indisposed for so long, so it began to attack the closest civilization to it.
This started with a plague.
The demon was angry. It's entire being is hatred and greed personified. It wanted to lash out just as much as it wanted a host in a position of power so that it may more easily inflict eternal suffering on the world above. Ganondorf and the Gerudo were prime targets in all regards, as back then, they were very well off and well established.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So here's where Link arrives at the kingdom. Still Ganon's pov.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see, I didn't go with the popular idea that Ganondorf's Second and Third are Koume and Kotake. I made a couple OCs instead out of those two in the cutscene. Sorry. Neither are Nabooru either because uh this isn't OoT as much as it wishes it was. lol
Anyway, Link's POV, written by my partner.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ganon's POV
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That's all for now.
This is a slow burn ganlink story alongside... everything else it is. I took massive liberties with Gerudo culture based on what I know from other games later on in the story, and also played much more on the fact Ganondorf is a sorcerer than the game did. I took away what I could, however, making him adept at creating illusions mostly.
Also I'd like to say the way Link gets to the past is much different than what happened to Zelda. It's a doozy, but since my cowriter came up with it I'll let them decide when I can reveal that.
But anyways this post has gone on long enough. Let me know what you guys think, if you want!

Out of curiosity, do y’all think TotK Koume and Kotake might have manipulated Ganondorf at all???
Because we know in OoT, that specific Ganondorf was raised by Koume and Kotake. Given their age being five hundred and something, it’s highly likely that they’re the same Koume and Kotake from TotK. They’ve been waiting for Ganondorf to be reborn, and once he was they raised him specifically to be the Evil King.
The reason they survived so long is because of the dark magic they’ve used to increase their lifespan, and it’s heavily implied that outside of brainwashing Nobooru, they’ve also been manipulating the town itself into being hostile. (After OoT Link defeats the twin witches, it’s stated the Gerudo have become “friendlier”.)
Now, to be fair, we don’t have a name drop in TotK, but we do see two Gerudo women that are identical to one another kneeling beside Ganondorf.
Tumblr media
Koume and Kotake are canonically twins. They’re probably this Ganondorf’s sisters or something, seeing how young they are here.
Ganondorf is an incarnation of Demise’s hatred, but there also has to be a catalyst (?) of sorts to feed it.
The Ganondorf here is dressed in a way the majority of his previous selves (With really the only exception being Wind Waker, who was half armor half robes) was not. He is not decked out head to toe in battle armor. He is not dressed like a war lord. This Ganondorf is dressed like a hero, a samurai, and like a Gerudo. This Ganondorf is more connected to his roots than any other iteration of him.
So let’s go with the assumption his motivation started similarly to what OoT/WW Ganondorf’s was. His people had plenty of food, but most likely not enough water. (Note while in BotW they have fountains flowing through town, OoT does not. Their town is much drier in comparison. Hydromelons also probably haven't evolved into existence yet.) This makes days in the desert extremely dangerous. He wants to free his people, but the only way to do that is with power.
Only the strongest can survive in the desert, and only the strongest can have the power to rule.
Someone would have had to feed into this mindset, to convince him he was on the right path. Someone would have had to encourage him that, yes, attacking Hyrule and inciting war was definitely the way to go about it. Someone would have fed into the hatred that was already inside of him, and raised from an ember to a blaze. They would have created a war lord, because they never believed peace was an option.
Koume and Kotake would have been right by his side from the very beginning, manipulating him and his hate, most likely because of the hate they themselves had for those outside the desert. They would have groomed Ganondorf into becoming the Demon King, just as they would five hundred years later to OoT Ganondorf to raise him as the Evil King.
