Some time before the events of the Digimon fleeing in droves to the real world, Hiro goes missing along with the rest of the team. Gammamon is the only one left, and in the midst of his confusion, he can only call on Hiro’s best friend to help him. Although not chosen by destiny, three ordinary children take it upon themselves to bring back those who were.

Tsukiyono Ruli

An outgoing and a little tomboyish girl who is interested in the strange and supernatural. She is a student of Hazakura Academy and stays in the dorms. One day, her school gets involved in an incident surrounding a hologram ghost and she met her partner and self-proclaimed little brother Gammamon who also gave her digivice along with a hologram message from one Amanokawa Hokuto. From that day onwards, Ruli and Gammamon would continue to investigate hologram ghost incidents and why digimon keep coming to the human world.

Amanokawa Hiro

A mild-mannered boy who used to live alone with his father after his mother went to work overseas. After his father suddenly went missing, he continues to live alone in his house. Shortly after that, strange paranormal-esque occurrences started happening in the house. While he was freaked out at first, over time he became used to the maybe-ghost as he realizes that it isn't doing much harm. The ghost's identity is a digimon called Jellymon who stays at his house. They coexist peacefully like that for a few months until Ruli comes along and they finally officially become partners.

Higashimitarai Kiyoshiro

A genius teen prodigy who came from America to Japan because he wanted to experience the Japanese school life like in his favorite animes. He is prone to anxiety and is quite the coward but is very responsible and caring towards the people close to him. While he is the dorm leader of Hazakura Academy, he doesn't actually need to attend class and usually stays in his dorm room all day if he doesn't have any conferences. A curious angora rabbit-like digimon named Angoramon took interest in him because of his intellect and follows him to his various meetings and conferences. When Ruli notices Angoramon following him around the dorm, she gave him a digivice and he and Angoramon became partners.

Udagawa Aoi

A tomboyish and outdoors-y girl who goes to Hazakura Academy and stays in the dorms. She is one of Ruli's best friends and learned about digimon because of her. Later on, she received one of the digivices Hiro found in his dad's room. It wasn't until Hokuto mailed some extra DIM cards however that she was able to get a partner of her own, Ryudamon, who she synced with in order to help restore him after he turned into a Gyukimon.

Nomura Kotaro

An extroverted and confident teen with a bit of a lazy streak. He is Hiro's classmate turned best friend. He has a not-so-secret crush on the dormitory manager Nijima, and a slightly smaller one on Ruli who he came to know through her blog Lirurun. Like Ruli's friends, he would went on to learn about digimon and receive his own digivice. It wasn't until his and Hiro's visit to their sister school in Kamakura though that he met and synced with his partner Espimon using one of the DIM cards Hokuto mailed in.

Kashiwagi Mika

A reserved and soft-spoken girl who cares very deeply and is really passionate in her friendships. She is best friends with Ruli and Aoi, but unlike her friends who live in the school dorms, she lives with her parents in her house, which turns out is quite near to Hiro's house. Like Aoi and Kotaro, she also receives her own digivice later down the line. She was quite scared at first when just starting to get involved with digimon, but she eventually grew accustomed to it and became particularly close to Bakumon. It wasn't until the return of a demonic old enemy however that she would use the DIM card given to her to sync with Bakumon in order to allow him to evolve and save their friends.

Yamamoto Kuroe

A detective who is investigating the hologram ghosts incidents. In the middle of investigating, discovered a connection between the hologram ghosts sightings and the missing person case of one Amanokawa Hokuto. This eventually leads to him learning about digimon and he would later act as adult support for Ruli and the others.

AU Notes

If Ghost Game had its own Survive arc (bunch of kids all sent to another world), or it started out like Survive did, what characters would be good candidates to be apart of the group, and their digimon partners to-theoretically-be? Of course the trio protagonists are there by default.

Funny enough, I think the main three could constitute a good enough group on their own. Between the levelheaded survival expert, the fearless adventurer, and the cowardly genius, they cover all the bases. However, if we were to have an expanded team...

Maybe I'm just biased because I like him so much but I think Yuto would be a good group member, and maybe a possible partner could be Lalamon? 1) because something small and cute suits him and 2) bc they can eventually evolve to Ajatarmon and I have a sick sense of humor. I think the group could benefit from how calm and gentle he is.

Going off the idea of starting with a "stuck in the digitial world" arc rather than all of gg canon having taken place already, I propose Kayono. I really like her design and wanna see more of her, and I also think she's just a great character to exemplify how humans can negatively affect digimon. I think DemiDevimon could make a fun partner.

I almost...I almost wanna say Kotaro. Not because he would add anything to the group or because I think he could survive but because you gotta have that comedic relief character who causes problems on accident. I could balance him out with a straight laced partner or I could do the funny thing and give him Neemon.

Part of me feels like Ruli's friends don't really do enough or have enough personality to be relevant group members...but that didn't stop Tamers from dragging Kazu and Kenta along so...

Maybe they can be the "don't have partners for most of the arc but still help in their own way" characters.

The only other character who really stood out to me as memorable enough to be a recurring character is probably Emma? She could be a fun addition to the team because she's smart and has an interesting dynamic with Kiyo. I...almost want to give her specifically the Dracmon from gg ep 3 (and 25 but we don't talk about that one) as a partner? I mean her episode involved her being a lowkey stalker and his episode involved cursing people via surveillance and social media so like idk their vibes kinda mesh in my mind. They'd be meeting in a circumstance where he's never seen the real world and she already knows what Kiyo is up to so maybe they'd both be better people?

Or maybe depending on whether they influence each other for better or for worse could be the thing that either makes them reliable allies or terrifying antagonists.

OR it could be a fun yet sad twist that he only partnered with her bc of her smarts and just wanted to use her to cause more problems on purpose and we'd end up having a main character's partner be an endgame boss battle but this time bc of a betrayal instead of a virus which...could be interesting. I accidentally put more thought into this than I meant to. Anyways this one is Emma if anyone forgot:

You know how there’s speculation over the possibilities of at least 1 6th ranger in Ghost Game (with the popular candidates being Kotaro, Yuto, Aoi, and Mika)  What if one of the sixth rangers gets a reincarnated Bokomon for their partner. Imagine the original members reactions, particularly Gammamon, to meeting this Bokomon who doesn’t doesn’t remember them? I think that could be interesting, especially if a reincarnated Ajatarmon is also among the Digimon partners of the Sixth rangers in the event of Yuto 1 of the sixth rangers (if only because the contrasts between their past interactions with the founding members of the team).

Noroi

Alternate retelling of episode three of Digimon Ghost game featuring lost footage. The tittle is a reference to the 2005 Japanese found footage horror "Noroi", thought it shares nothing else in common with it (lol)

Digimon canonically have no gender, so mummymon is referred by they pronouns and gammamon with they/he ones.

You aren't big on keeping tabs on content creators, but your friend, Kotaro, has been bugging you since last evening with updates about his favorite one, Lirurun. I'm really worried about her!!! ༼ ༎ຶ ᆺ ༎ຶ༽, he texts you for the nth time. You sigh. If your memory doesn't fail you, you got involved in that dreadful clock incident because Kotaro wanted to respond to her call for information. It looks like she's into this occult business, trying to gather all the hottest gossip about the popular urban legends in town and whatnot. You wouldn't be surprised if she got caught in the midst of a digimon incident. The realization hits you like a bolt of lightning. If there's anything the last scare taught you is that things have the potential to get very grim. Sure, the doctor had noble intentions, but the way they ignored their patients' wishes and cries for help had led to a rather morose and urgent predicament. Kotaro might actually be right about Lirurun being in danger. .

You open her profile and realize she's the girl you saw the other night, the one who was being followed around by a huge bunnymon. It's all the more reason to look into it seriously. You scroll down as fast as your thumb allows, looking for any telling signs. You pass some text posts about her recommended drinks and pastries from a new cafe, selfies and piano cover videos, quote retweets of her followers' replies and posts addressed to her... You can even spot Kotaro's badly-lit-bathroom-selfie icon amidst the blur. A sneaky suspicion creeps in the back of your neck. You click on the first random post of hers you come across, and, sure enough, Kotaro is in there. As well as in the next one you click. Your thumb dashes down her timeline further, index haphazardly landing on another entry. There is Kotaro again. Fully fledged now, the shudder runs down your spine. If Kotaro has this much time and energy to simp around, he should do his homework every once in a while—although this sort of remark always results in Kotaro calling you dad. Yikes.

Kotaro's infatuations aside, it's clear her timeline doesn't hint at any digimon incident. You decide to actually check the links Kotaro sent you. All of them send you to not-found pages.

What happened? I can't see anything.

His reply comes instantly:

dude i knoooooow. most of her posts from last evening have been deleted!! (／。＼) isn't that creepy?? i hope she's ok {{ (>_<) } we were talking about it in this fan server I'm in(...)

Err. You're good on the speculations of his fellow sycophants.

hiro, my man!! you actually got hooked on, huh?ヽ(￣ω￣(。。 )ゝ dw, i gotchu the server compiled all the evidence, pretty handy, isn't it?

It's a little weird but… helpful this time around.

The first proof Kotaro sends is a screenshot of one of her now-deleted posts. It reads:

someone edited 1 of my pics with funny scribbles in my fingers(⌒_⌒;) it looks like a silly prank, but it seems it's a recent phenomenon where something will happen to the part of the pic that has been edited in the next 48hrs??!! 〣( ºΔº )〣 Let's get to the bottom of this, guys!

The post had attached the photograph in question; naturally, Kotaro sends it right away. It piques Gammamon's attention, despite the fact he hasn't really been following the conversation between you two, busying themself with the cat toy—a tower of tracks— you bought for him.

"Hiro!! Something from your little rectangle has bad vibes!" They cry while readying himself to headbutt your phone. Oh no!

PE has never been your forte, so Gammamon gets a direct hit on you, causing you to drop your phone. You have never cracked any of your cell phones' screens in your life, but you suppose there is always a first time for everything, indeed.

"Ow! Gammamon, it's fine!! Listen here, your big bro is researching something important, so wait until I'm done, ok?"

Gammamon jerks their head around restlessly but nods and hums adorably all the same. He's undeniably a handful but a good sport. And with a little luck and some sleuthing, Gammamon will be key to unveiling the truth behind your father's disappearance. Their reaction sure confirms Lirurun is somehow involved in a new digimon occurrence. You await Kotaro's next messages eagerly.

The following screenshot says:

lately when I'm practicing, I sense a strange presence around (￣ω￣;) could it be one of the hologram ghosts haunting me?!

You sigh. Most likely, Lirurun, most likely.

Next, Kotaro sends a clip. She has a youtube channel, apparently. For some reason, the quality of the video is low. It's more like Lirurun herself looks blurry while the background looks well defined. The footage showcases her with a ghastly pallor and frazzled hair, in the same outfit she donned in the vandalized picture. It was posted in the death of the night too, betraying she —possibly— hadn’t gotten an ounce of sleep at all. It’s pitiful. Yet, the video opens with, you assume, her usual signature greeting. Hello, everyone, it’s your girl, Lirurun! she wearily announces with a flourish. Her hands are clad in a fancy pair of lilac gloves adorned with a pink ribbon and frilly ends. Odd. Many of you already know about this, she continues somberly, but yesterday around two pm, some rando edited one of my pictures. The screen shows the photo once again. It turns out, she giggles nervously, that the rumors are true! Something strange will really happen to the edited parts. She removes the glove from her left hand shakily, revealing a spectral mirage of her thumb, little and ring fingers. It’s evident she can’t help but to sniffle. I deleted the picture alongside the original photo data, but it just keeps coming back! I’m worried about what might happen in the future, so please understand if I don’t upload any new content… The video ends abruptly there.

6. Teiichi: Battle of Supreme High (2017)

If I had to choose king and queen for my live action empire, this film would definitely get a crown.

You can count on Teiichi if you want to travel into another realm, that of crazy school politics of all-boys school. I thought I wouldn’t like it, because politics is definitely not my thing, but it wasn’t just all about that, and honestly? Everything made sense and it was very logical as well. Explanations that appeared somewhere along the film were very helpful and it was very pleasant to watch.

This film is straight-up crazy, mad funny, and gripping as well. Cast of this film is soooooo damn rich too. Just look at them flower boys… #squad.

Thank you for the request and I apologize for the long wait. It’s a long post, so I’ve put it underneath the cut.

TAKEDA

He doesn’t really want to admit it himself, especially not first. A few weeks prior to the confession, he asks the men of his unit for advice on how to get a woman to confess first. He jots down all of the advice he believes to be somewhat useful on a scrap of paper and drills himself.

Some of the other captains have pointed out how spacey he’s been the past couple of days, Takeda vehemently denying the allegations. In actuality, he’s been daydreaming about how the conversation would go but would never dare to admit it.

Finally, he manages to catch you one evening and strikes up a, err- interrogation conversation with you. Takeda attempts to word his questions and statements in a manner that would to get you confess first (if literally at all possible).

He’s trying very hard and frankly, it’s a little painful to watch. On the other hand, the hurt glare he shoots the scrap of paper hidden in his sleeve from time to time is kind of cute, so you decide to keep quiet and let him flounder some more.

Eventually, when he realizes that his point isn’t getting across and that he spent the better part of an hour talking in circle, his frustration gets the better of him. The attention of everyone nearby locks on to him the moment he snaps, Takeda practically shouting his confession of love to your face.

When he realizes that: the two of you weren’t the only ones in the area, the fact that he literally shouted “YOU THICK FOOL, I LOVE YOU!” to your face, and that the other captains were watching, his face turns dark red with embarrassment. He freezes up for a solid few seconds before silently leaving the scene to save face.

He then locks himself in his room for a week, turning away all visitors and sulking. However, during this time, he follows up by (hesitantly) writing you an apology letter and a calmer confession.

You found the note in front of your room one morning and read its contents then and there. To your surprise, the letter was more genuine and gentler than you thought possible, considering its author, even causing your cheeks to redden.

MOTOYAMA

He’s thought about this scernario over and over again, finally mustering up enough courage to finally ask you out. All he needs now is to find a good opportunity.

Motoyama decides to ask Iba for advice on how to make this go smoothly because he really doesn’t want to mess up his chances with you.

As a result, Iba sends him out with a small shopping list (flowers, sweets, and some sort of gift that Motoyama feels would suit you), that were to be given to you whenever Motoyama did confess.

Much to his suprise, you run into him when he first begins to shop. After a brief conversation, you ask to tag along on his shopping trip. He tries to turn you away at first but was quickly overwhelmed by the strength of your puppy eyes.

The two of you have a great time while you’re out: chatting, telling jokes, and haggling with merchants for this and that. You and Motoyama even share the occasional sweet treat (following Iba’s recommendations).

He leaves momentarily to purchase the flowers and notices you longingly staring at a nice accessory when he returns. He cheerfully walks over to the merchant (now standing beside you), asking them if you’d be able to try the accessory on first.

He helps you put it on the best that he can. When it’s in place, he takes a step back.

Motoyama is genuinely speechless. He never expected that such a small adornment could suit you so well. He can’t seem to look away.

“You’re beautiful.” He says, without even realizing it. When he’s able to process what he just said, his cheeks turn a visible, gentle pink.

At this point, he figures that he can’t take back what he said, so he decides to confess to you then and there.

With a practiced and suddenly nervous hand, he hands you the bundle of fresh flower he’d just bought and asks you to spend the rest of the day with him.

He walks you walk home late that night, holding hands. When you arrive at your home, he sees you off with a kiss to your cheek. He keeps waving at you until he sees you disappear inside.

MIKI

The first move Miki makes is when he tries to book a whole day in your schedule, just for you and him. He claims that he wants your full attention because he’s planning on making an important announcement that concerns you later that evening.

While finding fabric to fix a tear in his own outfit, Miki then decides to buy the necessary fabrics to make himself a brand new formal outfit (just for this date) and even makes a matching one for you too (I headcanon that he stress sews).

Although his public conduct hasn’t changed very much since he’s begun planning this, he is an anxious wreck in private.

In fact, he’s consulted Itou day and night, everyday for three weeks, worrying about how to phrase his feelings. Itou, as usual, said nothing helpful.

Finally, the day comes and Miki is practically sweating bullets. With your permission, he drops by your house to pick you up and walks you to the restaurant that he booked a table at.

He’s a little taken aback to see that you actually decided to wear the outfit he made you, internally very pleased with how it looks on you.

He’s very dashing in his new outfit, the folds and cuts of the fabric matching his figure. The style of it all also suited him to a T. You can’t bring youself to tell him though.

It’s a place well known in the area, specializing in your favorite food item. He tells to to order as much and whatever you desire, just wanting to treat you to a lovely dinner with Itou’s wallet.

During the dinner, he’s trying to play it cool but he steals glances at you (in the outfit he made) and blushes really darkly.

He hasn’t brought up the topic of your outfit just yet, which disappoints you a little bit, but you’re able to tell what he think through the intensity of his blush (that he tries really hard to hide).

After your lovely time at dinner, he then escorts you to a local and famous date spot for couples.

Miki attempts to set the mood for his so called “Big Announcement” by telling a story about the date spot.

However, he fumbles about two sentences into his story and accidentally slips right into his confession.

He vividly remembers that day and would rather die than talk about it. You, however, will never let him live it down.

NOMURA

Everyone except for you can tell that Nomura has a big crush on you.

You like him too, but can’t quite tell if he likes you back. Everyone can see that also and it drives those around you both insane (because neither of you will confess when it’s easy to see that you both like each other).

Seriously. It’s obvious given how he blushes whenever he’s around you. Not only that, but he always tries extra hard to make you laugh and smile, because he genuinely loves it when you your smile. Your laugh is the most beautiful sound in the world to him.

He even sticks around to help you with chores and tasks you could easily do on your own, helping whenever you give him permission to. He just really wants to help you out.

After copious amounts of “gentle coersion” from the other guys, Nomura finally gets the courage to ask you on a date. Rather, to quote him, “Do you think we could go on a- a… da- day out tomorrow?”

Regardless, you accept, feeling kind of nervous and excited about what this could mean because you suspect he actually meant to say date (which he did).

He does his absolute best in utilizing his master tier page skills to organize a day of fun for you both, asking Kondo and Hijikata for permission to take the day off.

He overworks himself in both work and his efforts in asking the locals about what activities could you two could do on your date.

When the day finally arrives and he sees you all dressed up for the date, he blushes so bad. He hides his face with his hands and all of his fatigue seems to just melt away.

Seeing this, you assume he’s sick, reaching out and feel his forehead. It’s burning up! He takes a step back and denies that he is sick, attempting to go forth with the original date he had planned.

Still concerned for his health, you press the issue and he pushes back.

Nomura eventually caves in, confessing with a shy stammer that the reason why his whole face was warm was because of the fact that he likes you and thinks that you look like a dream.

Your face flushes embarrassed immediately and you hide your face in your hands. When you slowly peek out from behind him, you notice how deflated he looks, hurt and dejected at your apparent refusal to he him out.

You quickly lower your hands from your face, your profuse blushing providing some comfort to him. Your hands are quivering and you can’t seem to help it.

Nomura gives his confession another, more coherent try. He was planning on confessing later on in the day, but its too late for that now. He gently closes his hands around both of yours, hoping to ease their shakiness.
