#kovu in training
Text
Kovu decided to run on top of the tunnel instead of through it at agility today. I think he was hoping he would get extra credit.

TLK: Breaking Traditions
"But, Queen Kiara..."
"I said no!" The golden lioness tried to contain her rage, but a growl managed to escape her throat. "My cubs have barely started going outside the cave, you are not deciding what they should be training on!"
"But it is time!" Replied the mandrill. "You and yer brother also start' yer training at dis age-"
"And our cubhood was robbed! I didn't have a say in the matter, not Kion. He was forced to be a soldier, I'm not repeating the same mistakes with my cubs".
Rafiki snorted. "It was not mistake. You were ready. Such is tradition. Such is da word of Da Lions of Da Past..."
Glaring at the old mjuzi, Kiara rolled her eyes. "I don't care what they say. I'm the Queen. This is my last word".
Something snapped on the mandrill. "How dare ya disrespect da ancestors! It was yer grandfather Mufasa who decided you and Kovu were together in da first place!"
It was too late for Rafiki to realize what he has revealed. He only regretted it when he had the sharp teeth of the Queen next to his face.
"... What did you just say?" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since The Roar is not a superpower in my lore, i needed to explain those "clouds" in the painting where Kovu explains what happened to Kion about the second movie. So those clouds are Mufasa blessing Kiara, although Rafiki hid something the deceased King only shared with him...

love me some kiara and kovu from lion king 2 being so human straight they end up breaking lion gender norms without even trying
"It's the LIONESS'S job to do the hunting" Scar says in lion king 1 "Where is your hunting party!?" he demands of Serabi the former lion queen, "Pinned ya again" says Nala the lioness who grows up to continue pinning Simba the future lion king bc he sucks at pouncing
and then here comes Kiara, lioness, future queen- also absolute rubbish at hunting and pouncing
it's her boyfriend who can do the pouncing, not her
three out of the five only other lady lionesses have been far more into ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK thing than talking (nala almost murdering simba during their reunion, zira and vitani in general)
contrast mufasa in lion king 1 ready to accept a challenge FROM scar but wouldn't make one himself even tho he's got the lion's share of brute strength between them, then simba, while reclaiming pride rock, gave his murdering uncle an offer of MERCY him regaining his place as king started with him trying to TALK to Scar it only turns into a battle bc of Scar, Simba, the rightful king, tried to do things peacefully
and here comes Kiara, the peace bringing girl character, which for humans, yep a troupe, but for the lions in these two movies? Not so much
EXTRA CUTE BONUS FOR
lion king 1 is like "every lion dude wants to be king" nuka from lion king 2 is like "hey i am ALSO a lion dude! I should be king!!" Zira from lion king 2 is like "Kovu you are a lion dude that this dead guy chose, so YOU will be king!"
human society like
"guys are the leaders" "heroic guy characters should want to be in charge" "here's a million stories of the scrappy guy character becoming king/chief/captain" "here is a lady who trained her whole life to do Thing but this guy who only just started Thing will be better than her at it and then they will Kiss"
meanwhile in lion king 2...
Kovu meets Kiara and goes "maybe i don't wanna be king maybe I just wanna run around and be silly with her :( stand by her :( follow her lead even when running away would be easier :( maybe try teaching her how to hunt :( go star gazing :( :( c-cuddle :( :( :( Simba let me back in the pride you can be king its fine please i miss my girlfriend :("
it's so funny, because for straight human characters, Kiara and Kovu are surface level typical- except also not, thanks to Kovu 100% just goes I Don't Care I'm Literally Only Here To Stand By Kiara and Look Pretty-
but the ways they're Human Normal just makes them so very very Lion Odd by accident
anyway. future movie where lion queen kovu ends up hunting with the lionesses while lion king kiara deals with morning reports / prideland politics and maned lioness vitani patrols with her 5 girlfriends ok that's my canon now bye

LOVESICK (part 4) - Close to You < prev | next >
Vitani has been acting strange.
Well, she always acts strange; that's kind of her thing sometimes. But stranger than usual.
Kiara has noticed that her friend can't quite keep eye contact anymore, often darting away quickly. When Kiara comes close to nuzzle her, groom her, even just to chat, she's been insistent on keeping more distance than usual, scooching away with an awkward and very unsubtle clearing her throat. On top of that, she's being leaving the den at night more and more to pace and grumble. Vitani might think she's being discrete but Kiara knows her enough to be able to tell when something's wrong. She's started to worry that her dear friend has started to lose sleep.
She's more than familiar with the old Vitani -- the quiet broody lioness who most times couldn't stand to stick around the pride, more out of habit than preference. She's reminded now of that Vitani.
There's no one she's enjoyed seeing come out of her shell more than Vitani. Except Kovu, of course. But she loves getting Vitani to crack that crooked smile of hers, getting her to loosen up and see that there's no immediate threat to look out for anymore. Kiara never bore witness to the atrocities Scar inflicted upon the Pridelands but she thinks witnessing how her new friends have been affected by Zira's tyrannical reign is the closest thing to it. The lack of food, the lack of support, the lack of love. She can't imagine what that's like.
Kiara does realize her privileged position; she's the Princess of the Pridelands for gods' sake. She knows she could never come close to knowing what it's like to suffer this greatly or to feel the after-effects of cruelty. But it's all she can do to check in on those who have.
So when her training lets out at the first sign of sunset, she spares Kovu a halfhearted nuzzle before going off in search of Vitani as she always does.
She's not at the watering hole, nor the fields, nor in the shady spot where they play-fought just a few days ago.
Hm. The Guard must have finished late today.
Kiara heads back to the Rock to visit the lair and approaches just in time to see Vitani exit with Imara at her side. The two are speaking with hushed tones and standing rather close. Vitani ducks her head in laughter and Imara nuzzles her side.
A pit forms in Kiara's gut. Huh. She must be hungrier than she thought. Yeah. That must be it.
Before she knows it, she's trotting towards them, calling, "Hey, Vitani!"
Her friend perks up instantly, those big ears of hers at attention. She looks hesitant but smiles at her nonetheless. Kiara grins as she makes her way over.
Imara nudges Vitani with her shoulder almost smugly, before bidding her goodbye and offering a respectful nod in Kiara's direction just as she comes face-to-face.
"Hi," Kiara breathes, only a little winded from her hurried journey over.
"Hi," Vitani breathes back, though she doesn't look tired at all.
Kiara tilts her head at her tall friend. "How was patrolling today?"
"Eh, it was fine. Imara just left to report to your old man. Had to chase off some mangy rogue who thought he could flirt with me and the Guard. Unfortunately, he was stubborn enough to let things get violent."
"Ugh, he sounds awful."
"Oh, he was," Vitani barks out an amused laugh, "But I knocked him flat and he ran away scared."
"Ha! You sure showed him," Kiara chuckles, finding herself circling around Vitani. She does things like this sometimes, stalking around Vitani as if hunting -- and at one point, Kovu as well -- and she doesn't quite know why. At this point, she's reasoned it's simply a natural habit. "How lucky we are to have you to protect us." She leans in to brush their sides together, nuzzling her cheek to Vitani's. "I missed you, y'know."
Vitani tenses but that's never been atypical. Touch has always been something her friend found hard to get used. "Oh, I, uh --" She clears her throat, thrown off her game. "I-I missed you too." She shakes her head. "But you just saw me yesterday, Princess!"
"I can still miss you!"
A snort. "Yeah, right."
Kiara is about to shoot a retort back when her nose starts to itch and a loud sneeze interrupts her, startling them both.
"Yeegh," Kiara exclaims, shaking her head and licking her nose, "Vitani!"
"What?"
"There's so much dust in your fur! No doubt from that fight. You seriously need a bath."
Vitani bristles. "Ugh, no way." She shakes herself out, ears flapping almost aggressively. "Look, I'm totally fi--" When she takes a step forward, her foreleg buckles and she stumbles, catching herself with the other foreleg.
"Vitani!" Immediately, Kiara is moving in to assist her.
"I'm fine, Kiara." Vitani grits. "It's just a sprain, nothin' I can't handle."
Kiara looks back towards the fields. Her mother won't be back with food a little while. "Come follow me."
"But --"
"Don't argue with me. Come on." Kiara headbutts Vitani's shoulder and though Vitani grumbles the whole way, they walk up Pride Rock together. There, several lionesses are resting out at the entrance of the den, grooming themselves and each other and sunbathing while they still have a sun to bathe in.
There's a round of greetings when the pair ascend, including Tiifu, Zuri and, surprisingly, Kasi, who are dozing in a pile together. Vitani stares as they pass; Kasi looks away in slight embarrassment.
They find a spot somewhere nearby, still warm from the sun, and Kiara gives a look that makes Vitani sigh loudly and plop down. Kiara settles in beside her.
"Hmph, good. Now..." Kiara leans in and starts grooming the fur on Vitani's neck; immediately Vitani jerks away. "Oh, come on, Vitani."
"I-I-I really think I can do this myself!" Vitani stutters.
"Don't be ridiculous," Kiara huffs. "You couldn't reach that neck of yours if you tried!" She leans in again and when Vitani dodges once more, she reaches with both paws to ensnare her head and hold it securely to her. Vitani struggles but doesn't go so far as to kick at her with her hind legs -- a great sign. "Ha. Good girl."
Vitani goes ramrod straight. Kiara pays her no mind and starts to groom the tuft on her head. Slowly, her friend starts to relax, though she maintains the tension in her shoulders, claws digging into the dirt. Eventually, that too leaves her, pressure rolling off her shoulders till even her claws, trained to be out at all times in attack position, start to sheathe themselves. She breathes a sigh and closes her eyes.
Delight fills Kiara's chest. There's something precious about this. Being able to just lie here in peace with someone once considered her enemy and relax together. To see her realize there's nothing to fear, at long last. Vitani has been scared for so long. She might not like to admit, but Kiara knows. Kovu has told her the hardships they all had to face at Zira's paws, Vitani in particular. He'd been blind to it, at first, giving in to Zira's hate-filled rhetoric and training. But the months after the war had allowed the siblings to open up to one another, where they'd previously been emotionally standoffish.
Vitani was the one keeping their family together. Her closeness to their older brother as both of Zira's neglected children and her admittedly enforced love for Kovu was bridged by her need to do right by her mother. She amplified the admiration for her younger brother among the Outsiders, she kept her older brother in line, and, greatest of all, she was the perfect soldier. Savage and wild and bloodthirsty, eager to fight and, lucky for Zira, eager to please. Because, however small, that was the closest she would get to actual love from Zira.
A transactional, militaristic relationship.
And when at last she defied her mother, she was quickly cast aside.
Where Vitani had loved Kovu superficially, as taught by Zira, there was also the real love of being the only sibling who truly cared for him. They're twins, after all, as easy it is to forget, uniquely linked. That love was smaller, unfostered, buried away, but it was there. Her betraying Zira was what made Kovu realize there was more that needed to be talked about. How could they leave things the way they were? After they'd lost their only mother and Nuka, after not even knowing their supposedly shared father, how could they go on not truly knowing one another?
The months of healing did them well. While Vitani had been reclusive at first, there were times where she was seen with Kovu and she looked truly happy. Now, they're closer than they'd ever been, and Kovu happily recounts their visits together to Kiara.
It makes Kiara wonder: does Vitani fear being cast out again? Is that why she's been so aloof? Is she afraid that the peace is delicate, that it'll all fall apart one day and her value will be reduced to nothing once again?
Kiara will do anything to keep her from feeling that way.
An easy rumble in Vitani's throat draws her from her thoughts. She's nearly clean now, her usually unruly tuft smoothed into a funny-looking cowlick, but Kiara is reluctant to let her go.
"Something's been bugging you lately, hasn't it?"
Vitani's eyes open and, regrettably, a small amount of tension comes back to her. She's quiet for a long time, as if calculating her response.
"It's nothing you gotta worry about, Princess. I'll be fine."
Perfectly calculated, in fact. Something that says she shouldn't press or pry, even jokingly. Something Vitani wants to sort out herself. And as much as Kiara wants to help with this, to get her sleep and ease again, she has to respect it.
"Okay," Kiara settles on, "But if you want to talk, or need help in any way, you know I'm here for you, right? I always will be."
Vitani tilts her head and looks earnestly at her. Her violet eyes are soft, softer than she's ever seen them. A thumping erupts in Kiara's chest.
"Yeah. I know, Ki."
"I-I really care about you," Kiara finds herself blurting, "You're my best friend."
"What? But I thought Tiifu and Zuri were your best friends," Vitani says, surprised, "Or, Kovu? I can never keep track."
"No -- I mean, well, yes, they are -- but I can have multiple!" Kiara sputters, suddenly nervous and not knowing why. "The point is, I...I feel so close to you. I couldn't stand it if you were hurting a-and there was something I could do to help you."
The whole exchange gives Vitani pause and she's quiet for a long moment.
Then, miraculously, terrifically, magnificently, Vitani allows herself to nuzzle the side of her face into Kiara's chest.
"You're my best friend too, Kiara." Vitani smiles that lovely, crooked smile. "I...really care about you too."
It feels as though a storm cracks through her.
She's shaken, almost vibrating in her pelt. Her fur is warm, her mouth is dry -- what is this? She prays -- oh gods, she prays -- that Vitani can't hear her thunderous heartbeat. It would be awful of her to ruin this moment.
But what is it that's afflicted her?
And where did the air in her lungs go?

Heir Night
Tumblr media
I love him so much even if he's just a fusion of Kovu and Zuko LOL
Character Bio:
Kinship: The Hawthorns
Grayromantic & Graysexual; Agender/ tom; he/him
Age: 11 moons (15 Hyrs)
Voice Headcanon: Zuko -Avatar: The Last Airbender
Role: Heir + Trainee
Adult name/Future name: Night'shade -> Night'light
Title meaning: -shade = a dark and mysterious cat; a cat who is good at slipping through the shadows; a cat with a somber/serious personality.
-light = in honor of Night's father; a cat with a bright personality; a hopeful cat; for Night = looking towards a good future.
Mother: Monarch Spider'web
Father: Monarch Light'fall
Other notable kin: Spindle'stare (aunt), Moth'heart (uncle), Pine'fang (Grandmother), Osprey'cry (Grandfather)
Extra Notes: I added some white speckles to his new design to resemble stars in the night sky! I also gave him his father's big ol ears!
Character Summary:
Night's father, Monarch Light'fall, died "mysteriously" shortly after Night first became a Trainee and the official Heir. Night is one of the few cats who know the truth, his mother Spider'web killed Light'fall to take his place as Monarch. Night understands that his father was weak, he was too kind and naïve, that's why he had to die, at least that's what his mother says....
Night, to his mother, is her perfect little clone. He is obedient, serious, and strong, he is the perfect Heir to continue Spider's legacy. However Night is far from being Spider's clone, he is very different from his mother, he is not manipulative and has not a lying bone in his body. His mother taught him to be an obedient and avid rule follower, which is funny because Spider is none of those things, but its useful for him to be this way, it makes it so he will follow his mother's every command and do as he is told.
Night deep down under his shell has a personality closer to his father Monarch Light'fall's, he's quiet, awkward and caring though the "caring" part has been forced deep down. Due to his close training with his mother, Night has been very sheltered, he doesn't know how to interact with others and mostly keeps to himself. All Night knows how to do is lead and give commands, he has no clue how to make friends or hold a normal conversation.

Completely unrelated to what I’m posting on here but I have to ask: does anyone else besides myself think that Vitani from Simba’s Pride is the offspring of Scar and Nala?
Reasons I feel like she is:
Vitani has blue eyes. I know, I know. But considering Disney doesn’t throw out details just for the hell of it, that can’t be coincidence. Also the other lionesses all have brown or reddish brown eyes besides Nala.
youtube
See this video someone animated with the dialogue of the Broadway Musical of Lion King.
There’s a theory that this incident is what prompted Nala to flee the Pride Lands. My theory is that Scar was successful in his attempt to…for lack of a better word…mount Nala.
Why Vitani isn’t in the Pride Lands? I theorize that she was banned at birth considering she’s not Simba’s cub and in fact Scar’s heir and was banished along with his followers.
In the fight scene between the Pride Landers and Outlanders Vitani asks, “Where’s your pretty daughter, Nala?” Very spiteful and the last thing you’d expect her to say when confronting Nala, wouldn’t you think? What’s Kiara have to do with this? Or maybe she’s referring to herself?
I’m not sure what to say regarding her size in comparison to Kovu and Kiara considering she should be older. The only thing I can think of is her diet and the lack of food resources would hinder any creature’s growth. Kovu is obviously well fed, or he’s prioritized above the other lions, considering he’s training to be the next king of the Pride Lands even before the plan of getting closer to Kiara. And Kiara has an abundance of food so that’s not even a question.
That’s all the theories I can think of right now regarding this topic. Hope you enjoyed and feel free to share your thoughts 💭

It's been a while since I posted here, but here's a new Lion King fan art drawing! Nuka, deep in thought.
This illustration is an addition to this theory I came up with some time ago, that Nuka expected Kovu to betray the Outsiders the whole time, and that he also made a correct assumption about the reason for Kovu's future betrayal. You can read the description in the linked post for more context on this theory.
The more I think about the scene where Zira and Nuka watch Kovu's progress in the Pridelands, the more I become convinced that this theory is actually correct, at least to some degree. I can't think of any other important purpose for this scene than to show that Nuka is suspicious of Kovu, while Zira is certain of his loyalty.
So here is Nuka, looking at Zira training Kovu and contemplating on whether to tell his mother outright that Kovu is going to betray them. Is it even a good idea to tell her? If so, how? Lay out all the evidence that she's set to ignore? Would she be even less likely to take Nuka seriously after this, and see him as a loser slandering his brother out of jealousy and bias? Would she blame Nuka for Kovu's betrayal if he does betray them, and Nuka is certain that he will?
And she will blame Nuka if Kovu betrays them. It was him who was supposed to be watching Kovu back then, and he lost sight of him, and Kovu met the Princess, which led to this chain of events. Oh, his mother will never forgive him...
He needs to warn his mother about Kovu's likely betrayal. But he knows that he will be dismissed, and then likely blamed after it happens. So he can only drop hints, and hope that Zira and Vitani will pick up on them. And when he fears it may backfire, he can play ignorant.
And with this, "I'm sorry, Mother. I tried" gets an additional layer. "I'm sorry, Mother. I tried to be a worthy heir, but wasn't good enough for you. I tried to warn you about Kovu, but couldn't get you to listen. When he inevitably betrayed us, I tried to do what you wanted in his stead. I failed on all accounts, and I'm sorry."
----
I tried a few new things art-wise, I think this made this illustration look more interesting. Also, I have recorded the process in parts and composed a time-lapse video, you can watch it here.

Familiar Master (Pathfinder Second Edition Archetype)
Tumblr media
(art by David Lopez on Artstation)
The familiar is a classic companion for not just magically-inclined characters, but also those that benefit from having a small critter that helps them out.
However, there are some who demonstrate a talent for raising, training, and/or bonding with familiars of exceptional skill and ability, which is the focus of today’s entry!
These so-called familiar masters can certainly be found among the various familiar-having classes in the game, but it also provides an opportunity for classes that normally do not have the option for familiars to have one!
In this way, this archetype is a reflection not just of the various spellcasting archetypes from First Edition that empowered their familiar, but also the archetypes that gave familiars to other classes, with a minor element in some of the archetypes that altered the familiar themselves.
Whether they are a druid, witch or wizard with an especially impressive familiar or a charming swashbuckler with a clever pet, these figures are defined by their connection to another being, which offers a lot of opportunity for both flavorful interaction and in-game utility, which we’ll see below.
The dedication feat for this archetype is fairly simple, either granting a familiar if you do not have one, or enhancing a pre-existing familiar if your class, ancestry, or some other source grants one!
Those that do not automatically get an enhanced familiar can gain one later, of course.
Familiar Masters that are also spellcasters learn to use their link with their familiar as a conduit for their magic, letting their familiar be the source of magic, such as blasting foes with a cone or line from the familiar, the familiar throwing a fireball, and so on.
Oftentimes, a familiar can end up being the team’s mascot, and some masters tap into that shared bond to let the familiar have abilities that synergize with other members of the party.
While many familiar owners have access to powerful otherworldly or magical familiars (what 2e calls specific familiars but 1e calls improved familiars), but those masters that seek them out tend to find they cost less power to bond with one.
By way of shapechanging magic, quickly switching out familiars, or some other ability, these mystics can learn to alter their familiar’s abilities more often with a time-consuming ritual.
At the upper echelon of this archetype, the familiars of these are simply better and more able than other familiars.
A fairly simple archetype, this one has a nice mix of must-have abilities and optional abilities for the familiar enthusiast in you. Whether you’re a spellcaster seeking greater power from your bond-mate or a non-caster that wants to make use of having a tiny buddy of some kind, this archetype promises something nice to characters of any class.
It goes without saying that familiars should be seen as an opportunity for additional roleplay rather than something for the character to forget about most of the time until it’s useful. Now, admittedly, there are limits to that. Sometimes the familiar has to take a backseat to other NPCs or to the character themselves, but if you are playing with an archetype that specializes in familiars, you likely have an interest in playing with their interaction and character at least some of the time.
Truly pampered, Cobb the cat is supremely lazy. However, his lackadaisical behavior belies surprising power and skill when his master can convince him to help. He complains the whole time, though, making him a bit grating.
Slain and reanimated as mere fodder by a necromancer, This would have been the end for Kovus had it not been for his raven familiar, who successfully reminded him of his past and called him back to his now skeletal body. Now free, the two of them share an even greater bond than before.
It is said that in ancient times, powerful mages were able to bind dragon wyrmlings as familiars. Most consider this art now lost, with only the most ancient wyrms remembering those days, and their opinions of it vary. However, a dark cabal of mystics seeks to rediscover this power, and apply it in greater force, binding older dragons to their service. This conspiracy is what has driven Oblyxa, a young umbral dragon, to swallow her pride and approach the party for aid.

Runaway Nuka au
Due to the mistreatment from his mother, and seeing that his siblings got treated better, Nuka ran away, in the middle of the night. He found himself in the Pridelands, not caring if he got attacked before he was heard - he was used to it - anywhere was better than his old home.
He is found by Nala, who was on a morning hunt, just before they were joined by her hunting party. Nuka saw the carcass they had, not remembering the last time he had antelope!
"Why are you here?" Nala asked, not jumping to violence right away but being cautious.
Nuka, panting as he took a breath, said "I just.. I couldn't handle it.. I didn't ask to go to the Outlands, when Scar was overthrown. The little termits get treated a lot better and I wanted to leave."
Nala's look becomes a bit sympathetic, before turning to her party. "Take the kill back, tell Simba we have a visitor."
Nala and Nuka wait, Nala seeing the skinny lion almost drooling as the antelope was taken away. She raised a paw, and Nuka had seen it in the corner of his eye and flinched. Nala lowered a paw.
Nala looked at him closer. "It's Nuka, right? I remember when your mother Zira delivered you, the smallest cub I've ever seen."
Nuka nodded, not saying anything as he keeps his eyes on her as he moves his ears to listen. If Mother followed him, if it didn't work out in the Pridelands, she would kill him.
The sound of running paws on grass approached them, getting louder as they got closer.
"Nala!" Oh, there's Simba. Please be merciful. "What happened? What-! What is he doing here?" The concern, the genuine concern, it made Nuka tilt his head and become lost in thought.
"Speak!" The roar made him jump, this roar being deeper than his mother's.
"I.. I didn't want to leave when you took over." Nuka said quickly, and when Simba didn't say anything, Nuka continued. "Sure, I mean, I'm Scar's son, but I'm not his heir. The little termits get treated better, Mother is gonna train Kovu to kill you.. I, I don't know what you want to do to me, kill me or let me go, just know that I left home because of how they treat me back there and what's to come." He just kept talking and stuttering so horribly that it wasn't even words, just noise.
"Enough!" Simba roared at him, making Nuka drop to the ground and cover his face. He paced back and forth for a bit, thinking.
"Simba.. I remember Nuka, vaguely, and Scar neglected him. Zira must do worse, look." Nala said, pointing to Nuka. She could see him objectively, as an abused young lion, but she knew him a bit more than Simba as she had seen him a few times after his birth before Simba's return.
Simba turned to her. "I can't trust him! Scar's blood runs through him, Nala! Look at him!" True, he was Scar's son, but was he really?
Nala nodded. "That is true, but I see something different." Her being a mother, as opposed to Zira it seemed, would. "I see an abused cub, who ran away from home when he felt like enough was enough. Don't you remember that?"
Simba let out a growl, before going back and forth again. This time for longer.
This was Scar's son. But, if he remembered Zira correctly, the youngest one was Scar's heir. This lion wasn't the chosen heir.. he ran off, seemed too young to be on his own.. maybe he didn't truly? What would his father do? Mufasa would grant mercy. Under a condition.
"Alright. You can stay." Simba said, and Nuka felt like crying in relief. "But," of course there was one, "you are to sleep outside of Pride Rock until I trust you." Simba then got in Nuka's face, him being much bigger scared the young lion more than his mother's same actions, snarling through his teeth. "If you cause ANY trouble.." he showed his teeth, "you answer to me."
Nuka nodded, his stutter coming back. "O- of course.. I- I understand.. th- thank you for giving me a chance, S- Simba."
So yeah, Nuka learns to hunt and becomes a willing member of the Pride: asking Nala and the other lionesses to go on hunts, patrolling
He even plays with Kiara under the watch of Timon and Pumbaa, scars off the birds so the duo can eat all the bugs they want
He goes to Rafiki and asks if he needs help with anything, and often politly being told no but Rafiki will let him know
He becomes stronger, healthier and his mane becomes thicker - but he listens to Simba, becoming the subordinate male of the pride, as he's happy to just have a loving place to call home
He is invited into the den of Pride Rock before the "main" events begin, the ambush scene and onwards
He doesn't trust Kovu, who just brings up all these old feelings of inferiority for him - no, he doesn't have feelings for Kiara, he just wants to be a good pride member and protect those who protect him
(He doesn't consider his old family, well, family anymore. He told the Pridelanders as such, and he means it)
When Kovu tries to bond with Nuka, the older lion just doesn't want to. He goes to his cave, Scar's old one under Pride Rock, and that's that
He stays behind, during Simba being attacked by the outlanders, helping with a hunt - and he doesn't stand up for Kovu when he is exiled, why should he? He wasn't part of any of it and Kovu made his bed so he should lay in it
During the fight between the Pridelanders and Outlanders, he is firmly Team Pridelands
He and Kovu are reunited with Vitani, who joins them
The three aren't close, never were, but they at least are cordial with each other

Since we've started barn hunt, I've been hiding his dental chew for him every morning to give him a "hunt" at home. It's getting harder and harder to fool him in the house, so I tried hiding it in the field at the power lines. It was really cool to watch him follow the same steps I walked with his nose to the ground.

Let's finish with the twins, shall we?
-------------
Akili is Moyo's twin sister and second born of Kiara and Kovu, making her the future leader of the next Lion Guard. While her looks are similar to Zira's, she is less bullied than her brother, mostly because she has a very extroverted personality and wants to be everywhere and see everything, since she is going to protect the kingdom when she is older.
Her aunt Vitani is her heroine and spends a lot of time with her, much to Kovu's dismay (not because he doesnt like his sister, but because he already has to deal with Simba kidnapping his son, now his sister is kidnapping his daughter as well :v). Kiara just finds all of this funny and is ok with it as long as the cub is protected and not being take into the Guard's missions. Despite this, Akili loves her mom and dad dearly, and she is daddy's little warrior. With her brother Moyo, she has a fun relationship and while they banter like normal siblings do, they love each other. When they start to get older and the herds start picking on Moyo more and more, Akili is the first to jump and defend her brother and doesn't mind getting into a verbal fight to protect her sibling. She is snarky and has a silver tongue that can slash even the toughest skin of a rhino. Like Moyo, she doesn't start her official training as The Fiercest until she is 1 year old.
She is bisexual

I am NOT good an drawing animals, I want that to be clear. For the images I’ve done of Haji previously, I used screenshots from the movies and drew over Kiara as a cub. For Tamu here, I used various references and drew over both coloring page linearts as well as screenshots and heavily edited the facials to look accurate. I did her cub version first, and then did her adult version.
I can see her being a female cub who trains with Vitani often, being her gal-pal of sorts like how Kiara has Tiifu and Zuri. She crushes on Nuka, but once he dies trying to impress Zira, she confides in Vitani that she wishes she had told him sooner. When Zira goes to execute her invasion on the Pridelands, Tamu confronts Vitani on the plan in private, asking her the hard question of whether she believed that what they were doing was right. The confrontation ends with Tamu and Vitani disagreeing with one another and Tamu leaving to find Kovu to warn him of what Zira is doing. She eventually meets up with him and Kiara after the pair decided to return, leading them to the ensuing battle. Tamu would prevent Vitani from going after Kiara, allowing for Kovu and Kiara to confront their parents. When Vitani goes against Zira’s wishes, Tamu walks at her side to give her confidence in her actions.
After the pride is reunited and Kovu and Kiara are betrothed, Tamu asists Vitani in the hunting party and likes to sunbathe in the grasses.

Guys, just hear me out!
Lucerys and Aemond as Kiara and Kovu from the Lion King 2. Don’t judge the old lady with big love for old Disney cartoons.
It’s a great opportunity to write a fanfic full of Aemond’s pangs of conscience, lots of UST and awkward situations with Aemond and the Black family.
So, the idea. (Sorry for the mess, English is not my native language)
Before the eye-cutting incident the children from both families have good relationships and their parents are okay with that. Luke and Aemond’s fight and Alicent’s lack of support from Viserys become the end of happy days. Rhaenyra and her family return to Dragonstone. Viserys is slowly dying while Alicent turns her children against Nyra’s. Aemond is natural, his hatred for other family and especially for Lucerys is strong.
After Viserys’s death and Aegon’s coronation Alicent and Otto reveal their plan of destroying the Black family from within with Aemond’s help. He flies to Dragonstone and convinces Rhaenyra that he has nothing to do with the Greens and he doesn’t support Aegon’s coronation.
Nyra allows him to stay but others should keep an eye on him. But he successfully spies for the Greens.
Aemond is cold with others but everyone in the castle seems to be nice with him and treats him as a guest. One day Lucerys decides to apologize to Aemond. He does it so sincerely that Aemond is a bit shocked. And he is shocked about lots of things especially about warm relationships between all the Blacks so he starts to involve in that.
For example, he is reading alone on the shore when he sees Luke and Jace’s training so all starts from here. He decides to train his clumsy nephew Lucerys. With tons of sarcasm and My Lord Strong but still!
This part can include amazing ideas:
1. Little Aegon and Viserys ask them to do smth for fun maybe playing hide and seek and Aemond really has fun
2. They read together about Old Valyria and Lucerys finds out that Aemond doesn’t know high valyrian so Luke starts to teach him.
3. Relationships between them become warmer and Daemon starts to tease them, Rhaenyra smiles warmly at that.
So one day Lucerys offers Aemond to fly on dragons for fun and after flying they land on the small island. Under peaceful starry night sky they confess their feelings to each other. Aemond offers to fly away and leave behind the Greens and the Blacks with their plots. Lucerys convinces him to reconcile the two.
Soooo, then add a pinch of angst when the Greens will hear about Aemond’s betrayal and the Blacks will know about the true plan. Things are getting worse.
The angsty part is not my cup of tea so imagine the rest yourselves.
Slow burn, UST, denial of feelings, fluff and smut mmmmm chef’s kiss
I hope someone would like to write it :))))))))
(Daemon singing In Upendi for lucemond won’t leave my mind😭)

The Great Hunt- The Outlanders
@adrianasunderworld @marrondrawsalot @writing-heiress @the-weirdos-mind @nproduction626
Zira Mahlangu- Current Head of the Mahlangu tribe, queen of the Badlands, youngest sister of the former queen of the Sunset Savana. She has no magic but is feared for her ruthlessness and brutality.
Tumblr media
No one is safe from her wraith.
Her children
Nukah Mahlangu- Zira's oldest child. Aloof and seemingly psychotic. In rare moments he shows his intelligence and is considered the most deadly due to his unpredictableness
Tumblr media
Age: 24
UM: Creepy Crawly-allows him to control any bug or insect
Incantation: "Creepy Crawlies in the walls, wriggling little mites bite the hands I command. Hear my words and obey me."
"Vitani" Mahlangu- Zira's only daughter. Her name is rather embarrassing to her so she goes by Vitani. Her mother put her through rigorous and brutal training to make her more fearsome than her mother. Vitani has never lost a battle.
Tumblr media
Age: 18
*She has not yet discovered her UM yet- but she has mastered a magical skill she considers the closest thing to a signature spell. Vitani is a master in Maui Thai and uses magic to harden and speed up her bone's micro fractures and calcification, making her skeletal system stronger than steel and using magic to reverse it in seconds
Kovu Mahlangu- Heir to the Mahlangu tribe, heir to the badlands, and Zira's favorite child. Kovu has been groomed ever since he was a baby to his mother's heir and to get justice for his aunt... no matter what.
Tumblr media
Age: 16
*He has also not yet discovered his UM yet- but he is extremely proficient with fire magic
