I ordered a Yeild House Juliet doll for myself and yesterday I got the notification that she's been shipped. I'm so excited. I've already started planning all the little outfits I'm going to make for her since she's coming with a pre-made body from the seller.

I have no idea how else to put this. The Hunter's Dream and the Hunter's Nightmare are typically referred to as purgatories for their inhabitants. Both diegetically and non-, we have a divine label placed upon places and acts not necessarily exacted by divine forces. The Great Ones are only referred to as such because of our lack of understanding of their existences, and so we put the face of god unto their beings. I have my own pet theories about the existence of the HD but what we do know is that the Moon Presence struck a deal to create it, and that's a whole other can of worms. I want to focus in on the Hunter's Nightmare:
Big stupid headcanon under the cut.
It's spoken of as though it was a punishment, a hell made specifically for those who lost themselves in the bloodlust of the hunt. Ultimately, however, the Dream and the Nightmare are both just pocket dimensions that the Great Ones created with specific purposes in mind. The Nightmare is not a divinely ordained hell, but a tool of vengeance against those who participated in the slaughter of Kos and so on. It just so happens that we interpret this vengeance to be a sensible one, and so we call it an act of god. This establishes that they are not permanent states of being or places of residence for the souls inside of them. It's not god, it's just something another set of creatures can do to people, and so can be escaped.
This leads me to my next point: souls trapped in the Nightmare (and by this logic, the Dream) can possibly be extracted. We know that killing something in one of these pocket dimensions casts their soul elsewhere. We also know that consciousness, especially made to emulate a person, can be imbued into inanimate objects, per the logic of the Plain Doll being an imbued consciousness by the MP, meant to emulate Maria.
Stay with me on this one: a soul/consciousness being able to be transported from one realm to another COULD be translated into an imbued consciousness. We see traces of this possibility in the fact that Doll can mildly sense Maria's presence and state of being, as indicated by her dialogue. An abstract part of Maria does reside within her, to a degree. I want to propose the idea that a soul could be transferred wholesale into an inanimate object as an imbued consciousness, or,
Wouldn't it be cool if some story-relevant development landed Maria's soul in the real-world abandoned doll? Just a thought I'm working with.
