Avatar: The Last Airbender Live Action Thoughts!

-First of all, ya'll need to leave those child actors alone, they are babies and they didn't write the show, nor was it their idea to do it. I have seen way too many people body shaming children; leave them alone they all did well!

-I think Gordon makes Aang just as cute and small and powerful as I always saw him as!! He manages to joke around and be fun even when the storyline is a lot darker and more serious.

-I really wish Sokka was able to be more of his goofy and silly self. I understand why he isn't, and his humor is more sarcasm and dark jokes, but I saw glimpses of him in there! His excitement when he was with the Mechanist, engineering and getting to do something other than be in charge. Also when he has any older brother convo with Katara or Aang. I'm hopeful with time he'll be able to loosen up!

-(Speaking of the Mechanist, my boy Danny Pudi was SO GOOD, I love him, him and his little son).

-I wish Aang would practice waterbending with Katara :( those scenes of them practicing together were always some of my favorites in the series. Just beautiful kataang moments. I'm glad they addressed it but I missed those moments.

-I don't understand how you guys can't be having fun watching this, I get so excited waiting for little moments of lore, or when Jet and Katara were fighting in the forest I was sitting in front of the TV like "WHERE'S SMELLERBEE AND LONGSHOT. OH MY GOD NO IT'S PIPSQUEAK!" It's just so much fun! The colors are beautiful, the effects are gorgeous, and the plot and characters are entertaining. Think about the piece as it's own thing and enjoy it!

-Adaptations are just that; adaptations, and things will be changed! I think so far I haven't minded their changes, I understand why they've been made. There are things to criticize, but I think this is pretty well done.

-Zuko is fantastic; I think all the child actors are fairly good but Dallas' pissy attitude and the faces he makes are so so fun! I feel for Zuko and I'm scared of him when he shows up, and he's just as annoying and bratty as ponytail Zuko should be. His physical motions are fantastic!

-TEO WAS SO LITTLE?? Oh my god, like as a kid I thought the cartoon version of him was kinda hot so when they wheeled that tiny baby in I was HORRIFIED.

-Idk why YOU ALL weren't scared of Lizzy Yu's Azula, but her little smile in her intro scene gave me a lil chill. Maybe it's because I was away when the show first came out so I saw post after post about how bad she was, but I just.... Thought she'd be worse?? She did really well! Ya'll better be careful though or Gaten Matarazzo will come for you, that's his girl.

-So far the mushing of plots has made sense to me. Yes, I miss the silly filler episodes and the traveling the Gaang did, but it allows us to sit in a scene longer, and to colorize the world better, when we're in one place and one plot for longer. I think that's important for this type of medium and this amount of episodes. They might be able to justify more next season if this show does well enough.

-I am OBSESSED with Zuko and the 41st division oh my god, what a fantastic and well thought out addition. The reveal, and they're bowing for him when he comes back was DEVASTATING.

-They we're GIVING us Sokka and Katara best sibling moments, I loved all of them. They are so cute, they just mean so much to me.

-I don't feel Appa or Momo as characters like I did in the cartoon. I'm hoping this can change, because rn they surprise me every time they get on screen. I'm like "WHAT- oh it's Momo, he's here." How are we going to feel Appa's loss as much as we did in the cartoon if they continue to like barely be in it.

-Ken Leung SLAYED as Admiral Zhao, I watched him go literally insane as the episodes went on.

-Aang's imposter syndrome and feeling of failure being focused on I will always enjoy, even if I hope he can be silly next season too. His entire character arc this season just made me want to cry.

-Bro the coloring during the the Siege of the North was A M A Z I N G. The way the color faded in and out with fireballs and the monster koi passing nearby, just so pretty. It looked awesome.

-Making Yue a waterbender? The best. Her freezing Sokka in place so he can't stop her? Heartbreaking.

-Iroh and Zuko paddling off looking for bestie Lt. Jee?? Okay.

-They really grew this show up for us adults that watched it in 2005 and focused in on the really painful moments, themes, and details.

2.2 Penacony thoughts [part 5]

**Major story spoilers** as we’re finished the main story here. Going to be chatting even more about Acheron and our time in the Horizon of Existence, the real final boss, as well as all cutscenes that follow, so if you haven’t finished the whole story yet, I encourage you to come back and read this all later if you wish to do so after you experience everything for yourself first.

I gotta start off by saying that I absolutely love how this scene looks. Yeah it’s upsetting to learn that Acheron’s companion here is actually dead, but all the rain falling upon that red glow is just really nice to look at. Of course Acheron is slaying as usual too. I even dig the shadowy look of this man despite his circumstances.

Is Acheron kinda of like a grim reaper of sorts? At least that’s the feeling I’m getting when she says she’s guiding lost souls. And correct me if I’m wrong, but he is the one who wanted flowers on his grave, right? He just doesn’t remember I assume? It also seems that “Acheron” is just a river and I vaguely remember Acheron mentioning one during her conversation with the “Dreammaster” inside the park.

So I guess this is what all that red text meant? It wasn’t something we should have feared but a way to guide us forward, onto the right path? That’s how I’m interpreting it. Anyways, name drop reveals that this man was actually one of the Nameless buried at Dream Flux Reef.

Soon enough we arrived at the Horizon of Existence with Acheron and I’m like 99% sure this set of questions she asks us are close to the same exact ones she spoke of when we met her inside that first dream. I wish I remembered my choices to her questions from back then, because with the game only giving us one option to choose for each question, I wonder if it’s giving us the same option we picked when we first answered her because that would be amazing.

SHE. SAID. THE. THING!!! Acheron real name confirmed!!! Even though it’s pretty much what we all expected from the very beginning, it’s great for it to finally be true and not be a total secret.

A big ol’ cutscene begins and it reminds me of how little we actually received about Boothill, like yeah he shoots that fancy relic bullet up into the sky because he’s the only Galaxy Ranger around who can do so, but he didn’t do much else? I mean I absolutely enjoyed seeing him interact with Dan Heng and everyone else but to not even get the chance to fight a battle with him seems weird after 2.1 gave us the chance to really use both Acheron and Aventurine and test our their gameplay whenever we switched to their perspectives. Same thing happened with Robin too. We walked around as her and Boothill for brief moments but that was pretty much it, making the switch seem kinda pointless to me.

I got no words for this. It’s just an incredibly beautiful screenshot of her. I’ll never get tired of seeing all that red whenever this monochrome world takes over. Makes me regret skipping her every day but next time I’ll pull her for sure.

Yet another line she told us during our first encounter with her. Also, if this is the last time we see her in the story, I’m gonna be sad.

The crew!!!! I’ll admit it does look a little silly that we’re only armed with a hat while everyone else has a reasonable weapon, but I love each one of us so much!! It felt perfect for me to have Himeko in my team during the upcoming fight too.

While I figured we were gonna be blessed with Robin’s appearance and one of her songs during the fight, can I just say that I was not expecting the assist mechanic to be the mother-forking Express?? I had joked somewhere sometime ago that if Pom-Pom were to ever become playable, that their ultimate would be running the enemy over with the train and color me surprised, because that’s pretty much what happens!!

So the final battle itself went pretty well. Took a bit more damage than before but still an easier fight overall than how Aventurine’s went for me. I knew I didn’t have to bring in our dear gambler in since the fight itself granted us shields, but his helped me just fine along with all those follow up attacks.

I think my Trailblazer managed to do pretty well too? I stressed so hard to break that 145 on speed to access that secondary buff of the Talia planar ornaments, so that’s why other stats may be a bit lacking. At least I have break effect at 197%.. is that reasonable?

Anyways, as much as I adore Serval, I had to use the train to deliver the final hit.

Pfft, ain’t no way. Sunday is really over.

Look at us protecting March, aww!

Trailblazer pulls off some last minute talk-no-jutsu to get through to Sunday’s head and with a heartfelt embrace from Robin, I think it’s time to start crying.

C’mon, look at how gorgeous this is!! Such a beautiful sunrise to witness after all the chaos is over.

Surprisingly, the credits roll again only this time it actually feels like a proper ending to the story. It even lists Acheron’s true name, yet March still remains a mystery. When will we ever learn? Who knows.

Final cutscene of the patch begins and what do you mean Argenti saved Aventurine??? When and how and why didn’t we get to witness such a moment with two of Star Rail’s most beautiful men!

Aventurine betting his own life once again.. oh dear, you never learn. Then again, it seems you never lose either so, go ahead sweetie. Go get that promotion you so rightfully deserve!

This scene also bums me out a little because I was really hoping we would actually get to see Jade arrive in game this time around, but it seems we’ll have to wait even longer. Cutting it a bit close to her release with it being in the same patch but at least she’s phase two. I’m pulling for her day one though. I don’t care what happens in the story, it won’t change my mind about her! (to be fair, I’ve seen some leaks about her gameplay and, oh my god..)

Boothill unexpectedly enters the room after knocking out the two IPC guards outside the door and we’re left with yet another cliffhanger. Definitely not as strong as a final scene as the previous two versions but no way a random name drop could match a sudden surprise death either.

And finally, that’s all for now. Penacony remains to be a story full of mysterious twists and there’s plenty more to see.. hopefully. We still have no clear idea what happened to Firefly, then there’s all those bombs Sparkle was handing out to everyone, we still have to officially meet Jade and see what she and Topaz have planned. Sunday and Robin were last seen falling from the sky so they gotta land safely and I haven’t a clue if we’ll even see Acheron again. Here’s hoping 2.3 ties up all loose ends and gives Penacony the finale it deserves!

You didn’t wanna glam up glam up but you did glam up glam up giving yourself the excuse of that you’re always going to dress up to matter where you’re going or how trivial the matter is *cough* not that one supermarket incident *cough*.

your black dress is short maybe a bit too short for the kinda cold weather these days but you enjoy it when your thighs quiver a bit as it gives you a fake sensation of alertness of your surroundings and that yes I’m alive. (Kinky if you ask me)

However, you’re secretly hoping that the chilly weather wouldn’t be the only reason why your thighs would shiver. ummmmm not that you’re expecting anything tonight .

“get yourself a jacket y/n unless you wanna end up in bed with the flu,”MJ screamed at you from the kitchen while you were making the last touch ups with the straightener, but what she said is right so you went to your closet and look for a jacket that won’t ruin your outfit.

The only jacket you found was a black leather jacket that used to belong to Trent. The jacket had this JB print on the inside which might explain his weird obsession with Justin Bieber’s songs on your road-trips together back in the days. You used to make yourself believe that you can still smell his cologne on it.

You haven’t really moved all your clothes from your grandparents house. You thought that the necessary pieces of clothes will do you well until now cause you’re lazy ass was too lazy and now your left with two options:

A)Wear the jacket and act clueless if Trent notices Because you really don’t wanna die frozen

B)Go without the jacket because you’re heart can’t stand another act of drama and die

Well you clearly don’t wanna die yet and you don’t want the reason of you staying in bed for a week to be a 80nm virus that isn’t not even considered as a living thing (bio classes guys focus in your bio classes)

“Are you guys ready?” You called for them at the door while you were putting on your knee high boots after you found yourself subconsciously touching the tattoo you had on your ankle with Trent’s name. You thought Trent was gonna be a permanent character in your life lover or not but now you’re left looking like an obsessive bitch which you’re seriously not.

“I swear y/n if it turns out that you’re fooling around with Bellingham and you’re lying to us I’ll make steak out of your left thigh and I’ll take this girl with me to burn your house down,” said MJ as she hooks an arm around Bunny’s neck while squinting at you.

“seriously guys? When have I ever lied to you guys about anything? Please don’t burn my house down I can’t go back to my grandparents’ house now after the scene I made” That question made them look at you deeply their eyes calling you a liar.

“Okay okay I know I’ve got history of hiding stuff but no trust me that Jude boy is the last person on earth I would even consider to look at,” you genuinely tell them crossing your arms to look firm and trustworthy usually it works most of the time.

“Okay guys let’s go we’re already late,” bunny says pushing us out of the door and ushering us towards the house next door, only for you to hear some serious barking.

I mean it makes sense why that dog hates your guts I mean his owner didn’t get an hour of discipline so it’s understandable that his dog would carry some of his owner’s traits. All respect to his mum though.

“Oh guys look at himmmm isn’t he the cutest,” bunny said as she went to play with the dog ruffling it’s fur acting all cute with your fucking nemesis.

“I don’t think we’re looking at the same creature. A friend of my enemy is my enemy too beware bunny I got my eyes on you,” you told her as you walk to the door.

“Oh come on he can’t be that bad just because he bit at your pants once doesn’t mean he hates you maybe there’s a misunderstanding or something,” MJ says as she rang the bell.

“I could’ve ended up with no legs girl that dog doesn’t bark only he bites too,” you desperately explained your understandable hatred at the dog

“I’ll get the door guys,” you hear a familiar voice saying from inside before opening the door, “oh it’s you girls”

Trent says as he hugs MJ and Bunny

his eyes linger a bit at your outfit focusing on your jacket you were hoping he’d say something hoping he’d tell you that everything was all just a dream and that he’s still the boy you trusted with your life. All you got was a “ y/n you were so missed,” with a hug that lasted 3 seconds you counted them cause you knew that’s all you’ll ever have from him.

He still felt the same he smelled the same you felt his muscles at you he definitely grew buffer good for him but it wasn’t good for your heart.

“the party is at the backyard let’s go I’ll leave you guys to mingle have fun ladies,” Trent says as he directs you guys to the backyard and left.

You felt sudden relief when he left and wow this Bellingham must be filthy rich cause look at all these doors and chandeliers. Everything was super clean and shiny the things you would do to actually own a house like this. The backyard was packed with people good looking people you may add.

Everyone had a radiating aura of confidence that you hoped was contiguous cause you really need to be infected with that.

“Now where are those hot football players don’t get me wrong the women are fine but we need to focus on our goals,” said MJ coach who was holding a cup of god knows what.

“I can’t seem to find Jude I mean it’s his house he should be here right?” Said bunny looking around for him. Oh god how I wish he just simply vanishes every time I remember how close he was to me, telling me to blatantly compliment him after he insulted me boils my blood.

What you didn’t know was the sight of Trent smiling and talk to his friends made your blood boil even more.

“I need to go to the bathroom so you guys can go have fun and I’ll come back quickly,” you told them, “just don’t have too much fun.”

You said winking at them before entering the house looking for someone to ask where the bathroom is. If you wanted to enjoy this party you need to calm down so you thought maybe collecting your nerves away from people would help a bit.

You heard a voice up the stairs so you went towards the voice hoping they’d direct you to were the toilet is, but you immediately stopped when you saw two people talking to each other quietly with the man pressing a lady to the wall.

You can’t make out their faces as the tall man’s back was towards you and he was covering the lady’s petite figure.

You must walk away as this is an infringement of privacy but you stopped moving when you heard her say

“Jude, this needs to stop,”

“stop? I haven’t even done anything Hannah this is fucking crazy and you should at least show a bit of empathy.”

“Whatever we had had ended a while ago you were just too proud to understand that I’ve dumped you for another I-“

The man who turns out to be Jude forcefully slams his hand next to the girls head causing both me and her to jump a bit. This man got some serious issues somebody needs to tell him that whatever he is doing is considered assault .

“You out of all people have zero right to talk about my feelings whatsoever. My friend whom I consider a brother fucking sent me an invitation to your fucking wedding and you expect me to just be so fucking happy about it?”

“I don’t like the way you’re talking to me Jude ,”

“I don’t give two shits if you like it or not. Is that how you return all my favours you go and date my best friend out of all people oh god not only date you’re fucking engaged to the man.”

“It’s not my fault you chose your career above your woman I guess it’s also my turn to choose too.”

“We did talk about it dammit you even told me you supported my choice and said how it would make me an even better player. The moment I leave you go and jump my friend how is that fine in that fucking brain of yours?”

“I won’t allow you to speak of me in that manner, jude. There is nothing to be done anymore and I sincerely wished you’d be happy for me the way I was happy for you when you left to get closer to your dream.”

“I heard from Trent that you got yourself a little girlfriend though I wish you both well oh and do bring her next week to the wedding,” Hannah said pushing Jude away walking towards the stairs. I hurry and I hide behind the staircase and wait for her to leave. This girl be causing a lot of problems everywhere she goes. Not my problem though everyone who associates himself with her can suit himself because he probably deserve it.

His hot breath hit your neck you can’t help but gasp at the sensation. You hoped he would mistake your reaction as a gasp to him removing your jacket not you acting stupid cause he exchanged some oxygen and CO2 beside your neck.

i liked riker but jonathan frakes looks like a baby without facial hair. he's gotta grow that in. also, at one point he asked someone a question and i got really excited. he should ask more people more questions i think thats what jonathan frakes was born to do. that and sit in chairs with style

it's weird though how many of them use first names...in tos sometimes they didn't even use last names, only titles. spock called bones "doctor" almost exclusively. so riker calling geordi geordi after like 5 minutes of knowing him was a little weird

i cried when bones showed up. sue me. his prosthetics were terrible and i already miss him so much.

overall both the adventure and the interpersonal stuff was a little ????? which is like. you can flop on one or the other. i DO have faith it will get better but i feel kind of lukewarm on it so far

there's a lot of direct counterpoints to tos, but it's shuffled JUUUST enough so it feels like it isn't copying tos's homework word for word but rewording it to trick the teacher. for example, data is like spock in that he doesn't understand emotions or whatever, but it's actually the inverse because spock understands and pretends not to, while data truly doesn't understand but wants to. then you have deanna troi who's sort of filling in for the other thing spock used to do, which is give us general impressions about unknown alien life, but she SPECIFICALLY does it through emotions so she doesn't resemble spock too much. the captain and first officer have a lot of scenes together but they're tense so it doesn't look too tempting to the slash fans. the doctor is still a bit grumpy but she's a woman this time. they don't use tricorders but geordi's special prosthetic helps them see all that shit anyway. it's tos but shuffled. lmao that it took 2 people to replace spock <3

anyway my favorite part, aside from the part bones was in, was when riker and data talked in the holodeck. and riker was like actually yeah the fact that you're a machine DOES make me uncomfortable. and data is like well i am superior but i'd like to be human actually! and you could see the little gears in riker's head turning and later he called data friend. i liked that and i love data. i love data he's very important even though the pilot wasn't good i think i would keep watching no matter what for data. and i knew it would be like that.

I'm not seeing things, am I? That genuine adoration in Loki's eyes, the way he knows how to calm Mobius down, the way he knows that something's wrong with Mobius even though he denies it. The way in the last scene when Sylvie walks away from him, when he says, "It makes it harder to stay." He turns around and places a hand on Mobius' shoulder. Implying that he's staying with the TVA because of Mobius. Maybe not all of the reason, because he knows the world's all going to shit and he thinks the TVA is the last line of defense but PART of the reason is DEFINITELY Mobius and I. I might start shipping them now.

Like I don't mind if their relationship stays platonic in canon, cz platonic friendships are just as slay as romantic ones but. the potential.

I love O.B. too. There's no reason not to. In fact the only option is to love him. I don't make the rules.

Sylvie's being a bit mean to Loki this time round I think. Like, girlie you kicked him out the door and he just wants to keep the world safe 🥺 but I do like that her response to the possibility of more Kangs is simply: murder. My girl is a girlboss for sure.

Also! I loved Loki's brief mention of throwing Tony out the window; made me smile with nostalgia :)))))))))

All in all, this episode really played on both the heavy and light notes that make up the symphony of Loki - he's kind to those he holds close to his heart, he's downright murderous to anyone else that comes against him. i love him.

hmmm there’s so much to choose from… this is weird but i’m gonna say like. character deaths. i feel like people vastly overestimate and exaggerated how sad these deaths supposedly are and i’m NOT saying this to be edgy and i DO think some of them are really sad okay like. the first couple hit!!! benny and barb and bob all make me emotional even if barb’s actual death scene does make me laugh bc they literally interspersed clips of her dying with stancy fucking which is hard to take serious. but like i cannot for the life of me relate to people who are sad alexei died. who are sad chrissy died. even eddie’s actual death scene is so hollow and forced to me that the scene itself doesn’t make me sad in the slightest and i Only get emotional thinking about the hypothetical feelings of the other characters, which we didn’t even get to see!!! ppl will inevitably be sad when the designated Born To Die character in s5 dies. i feel like st saw how much barb and bob affected people and they were like oh let’s do that every season then! but barb was sad because she was nancy’s childhood best friend and we spent a lot of time examining nancy’s grief over it, bob was sad because he offered hope for joyce that she could have a safe and stable life and his death was like ripping away her last shred of hope. alexei and chrissy to me aren’t developed or integral to the story nearly enough for me to be sad that they’re dead i’m SORRY

22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

ugh lucas’ storylines……s1 baby lucas so intent on getting his missing friend back that he goes to stake out a government lab BY HIMSELF and struggles to trust an outsider who he instinctively blames for the horrors until he empathizes with her and ultimately becomes her bestie…..s2 lucas developing feelings for max but literally being threatened and eventually attacked by her 18 year old racist brother and STILL making sure max knows that she’s a separate person who he cares about…..s3 lucas slaying bc that’s kinda all they let him do that season…….s4 lucas hoping he can thrive in high school and start a new chapter where he can feel socially accepted and kinda make a path for himself with a new interest but now max won’t talk to him and he’s worried about her and terrified for her wellbeing and no matter how much he tries to communicate this to her she continues to self isolate until finally his love for her is LITERALLY what saves her fucking life and also one of his friends dies horribly and it’s only given like 2 seconds of attention even though he’s clearly affected by it. god. all of lucas’ story arcs are so rich and compelling and no one ever wants to talk about him!!!!!!!!!

overall: i liked the first half better than the second half. first 50% was soooo addicting. i loved the world building and dragons and war college and challenges so much but i’m just not a huge romance person. like the romantic buildup is amazing but afterwards i’m just meh. of course there was the expected tropey/ cliche/ booktok moments BUT most of it was overshadowed by how great the other aspects of the writing was. i dissociated at the end and didn’t really feel attached to violet or xaden or even the dragons (this is a me problem) but i think the ending is great set up for book 2 (will probs give it a read). like u can tell where the book is going but then the author does something unique to make it a little different than other books in this genre, so idk how many surprises book 2 will have. the fact that i read this is in less than 24 hours says a lot though. i hope mira comes back :D

hello mcsm community. this is a repost of a long ass twitter thread i made so i apologize in advance if its formatted weird (and sort of disorganized). but heres some of my Thoughts and analysis on radar. i have much more to say than just this of course but HERE WE GO! radar insaneposting tumblr edition. long post incoming (i worked very hard on this)

ANYWAYS!

- he idolizes the new order and puts them on a pedestal above himself a bit. i mean from some dialogue it's clear he doesn't have the highest opinion of himself but he treats the new order smiliarly to how they felt about the old order in thw wither storm arc

- i have mentioned this several times but the "prison radar" thing definitely comes across to me as him trying to overcompensate (and mimic those he sees as "strong" like petra and jack) sort of. like if you contextualise it with how a lot of the characters called him weak an episode prior and it definitely seemed to have an impact on him its like. yeah. especially being thrown into a situation like w/ the sunshine institute and the whole iron breathtaker thing that has Got to fuck you up. idk i jusy see a lot of people take that at face value like "oh look he's being silly" when it comes across to me as more like insecurity ig?

- hes so autism its unreal

but yeah the whole thing kinda fucks him up

ig the only thing thay kinda bothers me is that arc doesnt feel finished. and also jesse can ENCOURAGW him to act like someone hes not??? OH AND. id like to point out this thing also involves him trying to break his own strict patterns which is p interesting to me. by this i mean the "disregard my bedtime! break whatever rules I feel like! within reason!" he seems to feel that in order to become stronf he has to be like. less caring of the rules w/e but the "within reason" line and the fact that he dislikes things being disorganized still is like. he doesnt Want to act like this. he doesnt seem to like thag but he feels iys the only way he can be strong and adapt to such a lifethreatening situation (to act like someone he clearly isnt)

another point id like to make is his relationship with Stella. it isnt really explored past this one scene in episode 2 of s2 but god there's a lot to unpack here

"you'll never change" - has stella... always been like this?  even when radar worked under her (which HAS to be at least a year before s2 bc apparently he's been working for jesse for about a year)

 also she calls him a "quitter" which. 1. has a negative connotation meaning that she Does Not Approve of him leaving 2. implies he quit of his own accord. this isn't normal former boss/former employee interaction though something definitely happened. like theyre both Weirdly Hostile and this is never brought up again....... ehat happened.

also "he doesn't even know how to use a sword" this part stuck out to me but Considering this thing i noticed a few months ago about how the mcsm world is very. survival oriented and people who can slay powerful monsters (i.e. old order) are looked at with high respect. so basically she's calling him weak here which is. Huh. also "you don't know anything" girl what happened.... why does radar feel he has to prove himself like that...

"id be careful about counting on him for anything" what did she mean by this. did radar fuck up in some way unintentionally and it pissed stella off or something??? because something clearly happened and im very sad this is never explored further bc this is a fucking interesting plot point.

also. the last image...... this is so fucking interesting regarding radar as a character because it does actually provide context for the whole prison radar thing. like holy shit this says a lot. the first line kinda shows his insecurity already. he's aware people don't believe in him and think he's weak and a coward, but he's going to try anyway. he feels he has to prove himself kinda.. like "you'll see! i can do it watch!" and considering his behavior in this episode it shows. he's overcompensating for that fear and trying to prove that he can be enough to make a difference. especially shown by how he reacts when "Vos" tells him he's not up for the task. he's trying, it isn't enough, so he decides to mimic his heroes and pretend to be someone he isn't (which... unfortunately half the cast doesn't take seriously)

the second line proves my points more. "im not the person she thinks i am anymore" raises a lot of questions on what happened ofc but there's also the "I can be different. Braver. If that's what the situation requires... I'll do it." and guess what! he *does* do that! a combination of pressure from people telling him that he can't do it and he'd just get hurt in the process and is too weak and cowardly to really do much + the stress of the situations he's thrust into seems to sort of catalyze his decision to put on the "prison radar" persona and pretend to mimic his heroes and act strong to not only make a difference and mean something but also to survive The Horrors . but he doesn't want to do this, that isn't who he is as a person, moreso what he feels he has to do. also thinking of pne line where he says something abojt the "incredible misery in the world crushing down on you". like this is a random throwaway line?? clearly the entire situation of s2 is Getting to him but he never really gets to Express that

now ofc like i mentioned this arc is in no way perfect. it's fucking interesting but it feels unresolved and forgotten by episode 5 along with the other characters completely ignoring the fact that that isn't who he is along with jesse even praising that in some dialogue options. like the writing of this kinda confuses me because everything radar says and feels up to that point implies that it's a façade built to be what others want him to be and as a stress response but some later things kinda treat the way he acts as a Good Thing and like ???? like i get it if they wanted to do the "being more courageous" arc sure. fine. but this doesn't seem like it was simply written as that. he does Not usually act like how he does during the "prison radar" thing and its just never addressed. which fucks me up bc this is personally one of my favorite character arcs of mcsm due to how complicated and insane it is + hes one of my favorite characters ever and i relate to his issues a lot but instead thw writings kinda ????? but yeah. its always bothered me really but to be Fair mcsm was hit by a lot of budget cuts that affected the plot like dont even get me started on the scrapped assistant to the warden who sesms to be meant to be the antithesis to radar kind of... and im p sure some episodes had different writers. so yeah this sucks but it isnt gonna piss me off that bad I just wish his arc was handled a bit differently. might potentially write something or w/e about this but anyways if you read this entire thread 1. you're insane 2. we do a little trolling. follow me mcsm truthers

Staring at the ceiling for hours has become a norm for you as of late. Eyes heavy and tired, bloodshot red from having given into your feelings and bursting into tears once again. Your head can only simply register one thing, a single thought, "Why am I so tired?" But you know why you're tired, you know why you're here. But that's the last thing you want to think about. Maybe if you were to isolate your thoughts so much, it wouldn't seep out onto others, you wouldn't infect them with your incredible burnout and awful mental state. Maybe, if... you just weren't here anymore, you wouldn't have to let anybody down?

It's felt as if almost everything around you is slowly crashing down, the fact that it's all happened so slowly only makes it even worse. Like a "fuck you" that never goes away. Almost as if your new constant stresses and worries don't take up all the time in your day. Eating and sleeping have never felt like such a task, even as little as you've partaken in such tasks over these 2 weeks. "If I'm always hurting someone else or making their day worse, then why shouldn't mine be worse?" Nothing but self destructive thoughts, clawing and chipping away at the usual outspoken vivacious person that is yourself. Counting the hours that pass or occasionally opening your phone just to stare at your lock screen being the only thing keeping you from floating away in that awful fucked up brain of yours.

You feel truly utterly useless, everything you have done or tried to do has lost all its worth. The frowns of other people begin to feel like knives penetrating through you, twisting and mixing your insides, almost making you feel sick. You feel so embarrassed that your only thoughts can be "Why am I here?" or "What's stopping me." Why can't you just be normal? Why can't you just feel happy? You don't like isolating yourself, but you can't bother to leave your room even though it has been days.

As you continue laying there, every blink you make feeling tenfold of what it truly is, you are jolted back to your senses as you hear a soft knock coming from your door. Unable to really ignore it, seeing as you can't really lie about not being home, your car is outside. You return the knock, trying to hide how tired you are, "What happened?" The door then opens a small bit, only being the slightest bit ajar, just barely enough for a head to stick out from it. And that is just what happened, suddenly you see at first small bits of messy plum-purple hair stick in through the small crevice made. Then, you begin to see it, the face of the oh so lovely yet oh so timid Mayoi. At that very moment, it then suddenly hit you... "You've probably had your boyfriend worried sick this whole time." Mayoi had always been the type to show the highest bit of concern for you, no matter what was going on. But, he would never want to invade your privacy, if he think you needed your own space, he'd give just that. Even so, he'd always be right there by your side no matter what, through thick and thin Mayoi was there even if you two haven't decided to move in with each other yet. He would often have his moments where his overwhelming stresses and anxieties get the better of him and he can't help but break into a panic, being able to comfort him and help him through that would send your heart to the moon.

Mayoi's whole head suddenly peeks through the door, you hear a slight rustle coming from what seems to be something in his hand which is obstructed by the doors view. His striking cyan eyes always catch you off guard. It's always as if they are staring into the deepest part of your body, just studying you. With a concerned frown on his face, he can't help but see how tired you look, and seeing your face slightly red from the previous crying you had done only makes him more worried. Finally, Mayoi musters up the courage to say something.

"Y/n.. I'm really worried about you. Y-you haven't come out of your room in a few days, I'm so sorry for being a bother but, d-do you need me to stay for a few days?" Mayoi sounds like he might even shed a tear himself, you are simply shooken to your core seeing his face, the true worry, sadness, confusion. You don't want to leave Mayoi like that, but no matter what it just feels like you can't get your shit together. Feeling such guilt and doing nothing more than blaming yourself for Mayoi's concern, you ask him to come into your room.

He becomes a bit flustered at the request, "Are you sure I should come in? I don't want to invade your space."

"How could such a considerate person deserve me.." you'd think to yourself and you fight the urge to frown even more noticeably. "It's just fine Mayoi, you're welcome into my room at any time, please don't feel worried to step in." You give him the most comforting smile your face can possibly contort into. The plum haired boy begins moving around the scattered clothes and small bits of garbage flooding the ground, trying his very best not to step on anything. Along with the more steps into your room he took, the rustling noise from before had been revealed to you to have been indeed a bag that was hanging from his wrist.

Every second he inches closer to your bed, you can feel your body tensing up, your heart rate only raising. "He shouldn't have to go through all this trouble for me, why do I cause him all this trouble? I should be a normal, loving, happy partner, yet here I am. Doing nothing but causing him trouble. Why do I keep on making mistakes, I'm only hurting him, why would he even stay with me if I'm that much of a bother, why am I even here anymore?!" You can't help but panic, why must you torment yourself like this any time someone dares to care about you, any time someone would even try to open their heart to a vile awful person like you.

Suddenly, as Mayoi reaches your bed, you have lost all track of your thoughts, how far you have sent yourself in terms of blind panic. Because, low and behold, you are already in tears, sitting there right in front of Mayoi. You are only made aware of this once you feel one of the crystal drops run down your cheek, almost tickling it. Mayoi jumps a bit, not expecting this sudden reaction.

"Y-Y/n?! D-did I do something wrong, are you alright?! Please don't cry.... I'm sorry, I'M SORRY!" A billion thoughts rush into Mayoi's head slightly sending him into a panic aswell. You can't help but blame yourself as always for this situation. But, you do the only thing that you think you can do right now, you just... hug him, you latch your arms around Mayoi and you don't let go. Almost having him in a death grip, you can do nothing more than try to let yourself feel the warm embrace and try to calm your boyfriend down. You let out sudden sporadic sobs, not being able to contain all these bottled up feelings, Mayoi suddenly shakes each time you let one of the sobs out.

After choking on your words more than enough, you are finally able to get a few words out. "Mayoi... I'm-" you take a deep breath trying to stop another sob from coming out, "I'm so sorry.." but you couldn't stop it, more tears came out. "I do nothing but hurt you, I do nothing but cause you pain, I keep on bringing you down with my problems. I'm so sorry for everything I've done to you, I don't want to be constantly worrying you, but somehow I can always fuck up and do just that. I keep on fucking up for everyone, no matter how hard I try. I'm just... so tired, I'm tired and I can't do this anymore. It's all so hard, I'm just a waste of space that's been nothing but a useless burden to everyone." You take one last shaky breath, more tears coming, "I'm sorry....". You can no longer comprehend any basic words to use to express how you feel, absolutely out of any energy to say anything more. You just dig your head into Mayoi's shoulder, and once again hug him.

It takes a while for anything else to happen, but that's fine with you, just being in Mayoi's arms gives you a sense of comfort, but an unimaginable sense of pain. His hand begins to reach for your hair, as he shakily strokes it, just like a parent would with their child trying to lull them to sleep.

"Y/n... you haven't done a single thing wrong. I'm so sorry these feelings have been bothering you so much. Please tell me... y/n" He hesitates, slowing down the gentle strokes in your h/c hair, "Are y-you okay y/n? I'm really sorry for asking but, I can't see you so sad like this. I'm in no place to assume how you feel, so please, if you have anything going on, you can tell me."

Knowing Mayoi would be willing to give that kind of space to open up about how you feel, you decide to finally let it out. Though the embarrassment won't go away, though all the bad thoughts feel so loud, you can't keep this from him anymore. It's not worth keeping it all in anymore, not when Mayoi is so concerned about you. You suddenly begin to let everything out, talking about your struggles, your constant concerns, and well.. the thoughts you've had. Being as brutally honest as you can is all you can do, but you make sure to remind Mayoi that none of this is his fault and in no ways are you upset at him. The last thing you would want is to have him panicking which would only make things worse. The fact that he is even here listening to you, and so intently as he is already enough of a shocker.

"That's... about all, I'm so sorry about the mess aswell, I'm just.. a mess right now." You sigh as you look downward with a look of shame and embarrassment that you'd let things get this low. It takes Mayoi a bit of time to find the right words to say, a process which normally would take him a fair amount of time. Once finding out what he wants to say and how to say it, he gently holds your hand, looking into your e/c eyes with the same look you always get as you stare into his eyes.

"Y/n, you've never been anything of a bother, I should have checked on you more. Never would I believe you deserve any of this..." He pauses. Getting lost in your gaze, which shakes him up a bit, he regains his grounds, "I-i want to help you in any ways that I can... I love you, and I will be here for you. Though I am nowhere close to anything above average, I want to love and care for you in whatever ways I can. Everything is going to be okay y/n, I got you. I won't let you go."

The last sentence he let out shook you to your core, and you could feel yourself tearing up again. You then fall right into him, but not suddenly enough to catch him off guard, and you just lay there. Never has an embrace felt so... comforting, so loving, so reassuring. But, Mayoi has proved a hug like that can exist and that yes... everything might end up really being okay. After some time, you sit back up. Mayoi looks to his left where he had placed the bag he had in hand down during the breakdown, and he passes you the bag.

"I'm s-sorry if you aren't hungry, but just in case you are, I got you your favorite." He slightly blushes as you open the bag to find a large assortment of foods and snacks you like; you can't help but smile and look at him.

"Thank you Mayoi... thank you, I love you"

♥︎First of all I would like to apologize for the unexpected hiatus that I took, I would've post more but there hasn't been a lot of content from the manga that I could analyze. I might take more in the future depending on how the manga goes from here. Now that that's out of the way, let's get onto the analysis!

I spoken about how I think the other guild mates can kind of courage his reckless behavior here but after a quick reread of a couple chapters in 100 year quest I've got more insight on the topic.

In chapter 18 of 100 year quest Karameel asks Natsu to kill Mercphobia since he was the only one who possessed dragon slaying magic. Natsu doesn't want to do this since killing people he considers good goes against his own morals. This puts the burden of killing someone entirely on Natsu despite his protests. Even when they met with Mercphobia the first thing he said was if he was a good guy, they would have to figure out a different way to complete the quest. Natsu was never going to kill him if it had been his choice alone.

In the next scene literally everyone pushes Natsu into a corner practically forcing him to take on this burden. Even though he pleads with the others begging for their understanding, they all stayed silent. Eventually he just sucks it up and decides to do it anyway. No one in this scene understood the weight of what they were putting Natsu through. Although he was the only one capable of killing Mercphobia, no one offered their understanding. Carla does try to say there's no other way but they were all still putting him against his own moral. No one else had to directly deal with getting their hands bloody which explains why Natsu was so pissed at Karameel since her meddling is what caused this chain of events. Her choices are what led to Mercphobia's demise but it was Natsu who eventually had to deal the final blow.

The fight goes on fairly well and Natsu makes sure to stop Mercphobia since he personally told him that he wanted to keep the town safe. Natsu almost gets wiped out by a whirlpool but Ignia saves(?) him last minute.

(Something I wanna quickly mention is that we can see early signs of Natsu's PTSD here after seeing Ignia but it's only short lived.)

Anyways Ignia destroys the town and rants about Igneel which pisses Natsu off so he decided he doesn't like him. Ignia offers his flames but Natsu doesn't want to eat them. The entire scene is played off to be comedic but they were once again putting all their bets on Natsu even before Ignia offered his help. Not to mention, by accepting those flames he was also inadvertently agreeing to the fight that Ignia offered. It's like he made a deal with the devil in exchange for power.

They were depending on him so much that he almost died and yet they still relied on him despite that. No one checked on him and no one thought that they should fight alongside him either. I know Wendy's magic isn't offense based but I'm positive that her and Natsu's magic together would've worked better than her just being support since they are both dragon slayers.

The next scene is what bothers me most about this arc though. After Natsu eats the flames that he did not want to, defeats Mercphobia which he also did not want to do, the power somewhat takes over him and he goes into overkill. At this point he had to remind them that he doesn't want to fight alone and that they should be helping. It kinda seems like E.N.D was triggered from the flames he ate. This is a direct consequence from eating Ignia's flame yet Natsu is demonized in this scene despite not wanting to eat his flames! Also his hands are practically destroyed after using them. He's left a bit traumatized after the even because of course he is. The entire arc is him making very difficult decisions because no one else bothered to even try to think of alternate solutions.

This panel is one of my favorites because it shows Natsu deep in thought after all he had to deal with. He doesn't remember what happened but he asked happy if he said anything strange. Happy said he did but he also said things he'd normally say to which Natsu simply responds with "I see".

His curt response is very different from the usually happy go lucky type of response we see from him. This was him being vulnerable since he was upset with what happened. It's obvious Natsu feels this way because of his connections with E.N.D. I don't think Mashima made Happy mention how he was both like and not like himself for no reason. Natsu doesn't want to lose himself to E.N.D but there's also a bit of himself that can be seen within it.

The next scene also bothers me a ton because Lucy basically says to figure out the issues unless he wants it to happen again which was a very poor way to change the mood. Lucy was one of the members who was pressuring him to eat the flames yet she still blamed him for the consequences he couldn't control.

I think this arc highlights the major issues with Natsu's complex of needing to be strong and toughen up very well. No one takes him or any of his issues seriously which is why he bottles so much inside. It also make sense as to why he still only turns to Happy when he's feeling down like this. I have hopes that after this recent chapter they learned to appreciate Natsu a little more and hopefully give him a break. Internally, he has a lot more going on than anyone would expect.

👑 Favorite version of Zelda?

Honestly really hard to pick just one. I like BotW/TotK Zelda a lot because she has such a fantastic arc and you really feel for her and her story plus I find her very relatable...

Spirit Tracks Zelda is easily among my favorites too, her being a ghost and your companion makes her SO unique and she's really funny and cute and has one of the best relationships with her Link, and she also gets to shine in combat, too!

Skyward Sword Zelda also set the standard for her backstory and I think she's so likable but I do wish we saw more of her in general...

Ocarina of Time Zelda had such a cool story what with messing with forces she didn't necessarily understand while trying to plot against Ganondorf even though she was just a kid, not to MENTION the Sheik reveal which is just iconic tbh.

Both for Hyrule Warriors and Wind Waker I don't have much to say in general about them but I still really like their take charge, more active attitudes! I do hate how they lighten Tetra's skin color and remove her from being active in the plot when the reveal comes though... you hate to see it!

Twilight Princess Zelda... what can I say, she is an elegant sapphic icon and she will always be famous. I was a bit ticked off when they changed out her for ALBW Zelda in Smash because I think she is much more memorable.

I would be remiss not to mention Wand of Gamelon Zelda at least a lil' bit too... Idk she's cute and cheesy and I'm not sorry for including her. Maybe if Nintendo made her actually playable in their games I wouldn't have to do it but 💅

🐳 If you were a Zelda character, what race would you be?

Probably a Hylian boringly enough but I would kill to be one of those occasional enemies that does their own thing for some reason, like... I could be a wolfperson who can't eat their yogurt until you trade me a spoon for my boomerang or whatever.

👊 Favorite Zelda Villain/Boss?

Villain-wise, I love Hilda... she was clearly in the wrong but my god I can completely understand the desperation... Twinrova also I ALWAYS adore seeing whenever they pop up - I love me some comically evil grannies. Ghirahim and Yuga heard "slay" and said "this has multiple meanings and I'll do all of them," and honestly Ganon(dorf) is super cool always but I particularly enjoy his portrayals in ALttP, OoT, WW and TP. Shoutout to Veran and Onox too for variety's sake.

Too many cool bosses to mention but Koloktos is still my fave.

🧚 Favorite Zelda companion?

Uh-Oh... Here's the thing about me - I'm an Annoying Companion Enjoyer (tm) and I don't think I dislike any of them, even the infamous ones. Navi is my girl she was just trying to help and everyone attacks her and attacks her and attacks her... ungrateful behavior.

Tatl is so iconic and funny, I will always be mad they kinda toned down her mean girl-ness in the 3DS remake, even though I get that some of it was for accessibility reasons since a lot of her og comments just weren't helpful at all lmao... tho I think they could have struck a better balance.

Ciela is SO underrated, honestly. She had a good arc and I love her bickering with Linebeck so much.

Midna has the best story out of all of them and everything about her is excellence from her design to her attitude to her relationship with Link and Zelda... ugh she is so good, I miss her.

I've already said my piece about Zelda in Spirit Tracks BUT WHO CARES, HER AGAIN!!!

Fi is the only one who actually made me sob in real life from her last scene and I really enjoy her design and her dances and I genuinely think people forget how sassy she could be sometimes, not to mention being the actual Master Sword - I was ecstatic when they hinted at her existence again in BotW and TotK :)

👍 Favorite Zelda Headcanons?

The Triforce being in flux and changing aspects between its wielders in some games, like Zelda in BotW potentially holding Courage since her key scene was going up alone against Calamity Ganon and Link's usage of the runes and primary association with Blue could tie to him bearing Wisdom in them. If not just headcanon, I think it's a prime idea for fan content.

This one also maybe doesn't count as a headcanon per se but... the Zelda Timelines... I greatly enjoy speculating around them but I do believe taking it too seriously is generally just bunk. I don't think even the developers take them as a wholly 100% accurate and important deal and I think that's actually completely fine. I am an ALttP->Link's Awakening->Oracle Games truther btw.

pros:

I really loved the approach to sex in this show, in this very open, non-judgemental & diverse way. it represented multiple types of sexualities & approaches to sex, which was pretty much unseen in thai dramas until then. just for that fact, it's a one of the most important thai dramas of the last decade.

the acting is very good. everyone did a great job, were silly when needed, hot when needed, and emotional when needed. of course my queen fah carried the entire show, and sing slayed the more emotional scenes as always, but everyone did a great job.

the chemistry is amazing for every couple, and they really sold their pairings & the sex scenes without feeling cheap or oversexualized.

the show talks about so many important topics: it's the first thai drama EVER to depict a successful & happy abortion, it canonically has a bisexual female lead, explores sexual trauma, fat-shaming & being non-binary which, again, has never been seen before in thailand. it's truly a show that aims to normalize difference & give so many minorities representation which was beautiful to witness.

cons:

undoing all of alex's actions in the end felt so disappointing... not only does it mean the reality we witnessed for 12 episodes didn't happen, but also it really cheapens jean's trauma since it's undone instead of alex having to deal with the consequences of his actions. having alex & jean end up together felt so wrong since imo there was too much water under the bridge for them, and jean & tony had more chemistry and were healthier. also having kat end up with tony when she didn't want a romantic relationship before was also a disappointing choice, since it was really cool to see a 'queen bee' type of character not define her success with her relationships with men.

the characters aren't overly lovable like in every p'jojo ensemble shows, since they have very little time to get explored, but here it's even more present imo bc even alex, the main character we follow most of the time, is kinda super bland & the least interesting character from the bunch.

would I rewatch it: maybe

Even though the ending disappointed me, this show is really important still and I still enjoyed it a lot. I would recommend it for the great diverse representation & openness to sex :)

The Lies of Locke Lamora 10/10

100%yes. Heist adventure, dark themes, revenge, angst a rollercoaster of emotions. Just a beautiful book.

2. The Secret History 8/10

Honestly don't read for the plot, read for the vibes and the good writing because it transports you until you feel like a 'romantic classics student' that 'no one could ever understand', because they don't 'appreciate the arts'. It's pretty cool.

3. TJ Powar has something to Prove 8/10

Just yes. Realistic Desi portrayal?? War against the concept of a beauty standard???? 200% yes.

4. The Final Gambit 6/10

Ngl kinda disappointed in the whole 'climax' scene that lasted a page. She really took Rick Riordan's advice. BUt the characters are still extremely dramatic so slay.

It's really hard to find fantasy novels in which the lead doesn't have any special powers but is just trying their best to have courage and be kind. I think that's the ultimate superpower so yes, loved this book.
