DAY 30: Favorite Tom Era in General

2015-2023

Tom has really grown not only as an actor but as a person in the last 8 years. After his divorce from his 3rd wife, he's been keeping his business private, focusing on himself and his career, and living his best life. A true king. Of course, I love all of the eras of Tom, but in recent years, he's become more lovable, more passionate, and more of a real human being, in my opinion. He's not jumping on Oprah's couch, arguing with Matt Lauer, or laughing hysterically at a terrible story on national television (iykyk). He's aged like a fine wine. While I still love the wild and crazy things he did back in the day, I love the older, more reserved side of him. Tommy, if ever you're looking for someone to rock next to you in your rocking chair and watch the sunsets every night, give me a call, babe. I'll love you from now until forever. Keep dreaming big and reaching for the stars. 🌟

Ein Kilo Pommes zu verschenken

Nachdem wir am Freitag erst im Dunkeln angekommen waren, wird am Samstagmorgen erstmal der kleine Holiday Park gesichtet, in dem wir kurzfristig für 135 Euro die Nacht unseren 3-Schlafzimmer-Bungalow gebucht haben. Allerliebst. Eine wirklich kleine Anlage, mit Spielplatz, Pool, Trampolin, Tennisplatz (samt Schlägern und Bällen), BBQ, die liebevoll von zwei Herren gepflegt und verwaltet wird.

Zwar würde es einen schönen langen Weg am Meer entlang geben - aber wir sind doch wegen der Seen hier! Also zuckeln wir erstmal zum Captain Hawke Lookout, zu dem es vom Parkplatz erstmal 20 Minuten bergauf geht. Dann nochmal auf einen kleinen Aussichtsturm und wir bekommen einen ersten Überblick, auch wenn wir vor allem Baumwipfel sehen. Das Meer rauscht laut im Hintergrund, James Cook selbst hatte dem Kap im Jahr 1770 den Namen gegeben.

Wir zuckeln am Booti Booti Nationalpark entlang, halten am 7-Mile-Beach und verweilen. Schwimmen wäre natürlich wieder nicht, diesmal wegen Strömung. Aber der Sand quietscht unter den Sandalen, im Sand selbst verbergen sich Muscheln, es gibt viel zu entdecken und die Temperatur ist gerade angenehm. Auch wenn wir auf der anderen Straßenseite schon die ganze Zeit einen See haben, sehen wir wegen der Bäume nichts davon. Aber wir steuern das Frothy Coffee an, am Smith Lake. Und da läuft auf einmal nichts mehr nach Plan...

... denn ursprünglich sollte es hier Kaffee geben. Kaffee. Aber mit einem Teenager nahe dem Hungertod an der Seite entgleist die Bestellung irgendwie. Am Ende stehen drei dicke Burger samt Pommes, Tintenfisch mit Pommes und eine Extraportion Pommes auf dem Tisch - die junge Dame an der Kasse hatte unsere Bestellung nicht nur zwischenzeitlich komplett vergessen gehabt, sondern auch überhört, dass die großen Pommes die anderen ersetzen sollten. Nunja. In einem Behälter nehmen wir die Restpommes mit, der Mietwagen riecht den restlichen Tag wie eine Frittenbude.

Mehr als gesättigt beobachten wir noch eine Weile einen Angler, der Jesus-gleich über das Wasser zu laufen scheint. Einen Lachenden Hans, der so garnicht scheu ist. Und den schönen See. Dann geht es zurück, mit einem Stopp an der Green Cathedral am Wallis Lake. Die Andachtsstätte ist inmitten einen Palmenwaldes gelegt und hat wirklich eine wunderbare Atmosphäre. Auf dem Rückweg fahren wir einmal über die Brücke nach Tuncurry. Dort haben wir viel Spaß bei der Beobachtung eines kleinen Schwarms Pelikane, die bei einem Fischer auf der Lauer liegen. Danach trudeln wir wieder in unserem Häuschen ein. Louisa und Nicole stürmen den Pool (Solarbeheizt, 29 Grad!).

Gegen 16.30 wird die Reiseleitung ungemütlich: Die Sonne geht bald unter und der Vermieter hatte doch gesagt, dass abends die Delfine in die Bucht schwimmen ... Also schauen wir erst zum Strand, dann zur Bucht. Kleine Jungs heizen mit ihren Rädern am Wasser entlang, das Fahrrad eines Vaters fällt eine Mauer herunter und wird wieder hochgeholt und irgendwo steht wieder ein aufstrebender Künster herum und streamt sich gerade vor attraktiver Kulisse, auch wenn seiner Gitarre wirklich niemand zuhört. Wir beobachten wieder Pelikane, hören den ohrenbetäubenden Lärm von Vögeln auf der Suche nach dem Schlafplatz - aber Delfine sehen wir keine. Sonnenuntergang fällt wegen der Wolken auch aus.

Zum Abendessen zeigt sich, dass das Mittagessen wirklich mächtig war. Die Eltern halten sich an Toast und Salat. Louisa bastelt sich einen Joghurt mit Obst. Und sogar Kilian löffelt nur Joghurt. Falls jemand ein Kilo Pommes braucht: Wir hätten da welche.

I recorded this audio commentary on March 29, 2023, and shared the audio-only version online a week later — then couldn’t finish the video version until now. Since that time, Bungo Stray Dogs has released more and more information about Season 5, which premieres later this week — so, a lot of my hypotheses about what would happen in Season 5 turned out to not be correct.

Before jumping into the audio commentary, I try to anticipate which scenes Studio BONES may include or remove in adaptation for the anime—then jump into the audio commentary itself (at around 25:20) and find out so much I got wrong.

Then at 49:30, I talk about the first Season 5 trailer that came out the same day as this episode and what worked and didn’t work in that trailer to get fans excited.

Social Media Ethics

The current state of social media ethics: what trends are happening in the industry? 

We are currently living in one of the most inflammatory times in the world.  Current trends include how to handle misinformation, making people take accountability with inflammatory language, how to include inclusion and diversity, how to address people who are unaware of their actions and behaviors (Freberg, 2021), the push for authenticity and security as it pertains to social media.  

What are two current cases related to social media ethics? 

Facebook has not escaped its fair share of ethical issues.  In 2020, they were accused of spreading falsehoods during the election and of selling its users' data.  Here are two current cases relating to social medica ethics: 

According to Lathan et al. (2023) Facebook has reached settlements with the Federal Trade Commission for documented cases of privacy abuses despite the CEO's claim that users knowingly choose to share their information and data with the platform.   

Additionally, Lauer (2021) discusses the ethical failures of Facebook where he states that Facebook is ground-zero for anti-vaccination and pandemic misinformation, with the 26-min conspiracy theory film “Plandemic” going viral on Facebook in April 2020 and garnering tens of millions of views. Facebook’s attempt to purge itself of anti-vaccination disinformation was easily thwarted when the groups guilty of proliferating this content removed the word “vaccine” from their names.  During 2020, there was a lot of misinformation as it pertains to Covid. 

These are just two cases that highlight privacy abuse and spreading misinformation within Facebook. 

Outline the current code of ethics for social media by a professional organization you would be interested in joining as part of their social media staff. 

I would love to work with the City of East Providence.  Below is a brief outline of the current code of ethics for social media for the City of East Providence.  According to the City of East Providence. (n.d.): 

Social Media Policy: City of East Providence 

I. Introduction 

Purpose and Introduction 

The city of East Providence has established social media guidelines to guarantee consistency and alignment with the mission.  These policies ensure uniformity, support their mission and protect the city’s character.  

II. Authorizations & Approvals 

Authorizations 

Approval from the Chief Information Officer (CIO) or the City Manager is required before any city department can create, use, or deactivate a social media account. 

Only the CIO or the City Manager can approve employees to  manage, edit and post on the official social media accounts. 

Account Creation 

Employees need approval from the CIO, City Manager, and department head to create a social media account in the name of the City or any other city agency. 

III. Posting 

Approval Process 

Prior to posts going live, the City of East Providence sets up procedures to get posts approved. 

Posted Content 

All content must follow the social media guidelines set by the CIO and City Manager and should be relevant to the department’s mission, services, and goals. 

Identification 

All social media pages should clearly show that they are managed by the City of East Providence and must link to the City’s official website on the main page of any social media site. 

IV. Content 

Posts 

Don’t post anything that doesn’t directly support the mission, services, or objectives and avoid sharing or approving content that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property. 

Removals 

The City has the right to delete or remove any content that doesn’t follow this policy. 

Protected Information 

Don’t share confidential or “for official use only” information and avoid posting anything that could compromise the security of the internal systems. 

Public Safety 

Don’t post information about public safety events involving the Police, Fire Department, or Public Works. 

V. Behavior 

Professional Communication 

Keep all communication professional and avoid using inflammatory or inappropriate language. 

Respect Intellectual Property 

Always respect copyright, trademark, and intellectual property rights.

What Happens if the Policy is Broken?

Brands/professionals with strong social media ethical codes: what brands are utilizing proper social media ethical practices? 

Dove -  At Dove(n.d.) they recognized that the definition of beauty was skewed so they began a campaign to redefine the definition of beauty.  By using real stories, helping children build confidence in their bodies, creating safe and equitable spaces for Black women, providing support for postpartum mental health issues and providing support to male parents. They also have a mission to protect the environment.  The best thing about their website is that it includes articles, videos and testimonies from a diverse audience.  

TOMS-  According to TOMS (n.d.), TOMS displays strong ethical practices on social media by remaining transparent and letting the public know how their money is spent, they provide shoes, clean water and mental health support.   Their rating is a certified B which means they have and enforce a high standard of performance and accountability throughout their company.  

Ben & Jerry- This ice cream company out of Vermont is known for its activism, protection of human rights, environmental protection, restoration and regeneration, bringing awareness to racial injustices, fairtrade, climate change and LGBTQ+ rights.  Their views on wealth distribution are posted on their website and they are very transparent with how they make their ice cream.  According to Ben & Jerry (n.d.), they take their 3-part mission of product, economic and social a step further by breaking down to include the rights and dignity of refugees, democracy is in our hands, campaign finance reform and climate justice.  One of their latest endeavors is voting, discussions about women’s prisons and how to combat air pollution.

Bill Nye- Uses his platform to educate about science, critical thinking and misinformation.  He is an advocate for climate change and believes in evidence-based discussions in a positive manner. He also promotes diversity and believes in accuracy. (Nye, n.d.) 

Neil de Grasse Tyson -Also uses his platform to educate about science in simpler terms, he helps break it down so it’s easily understandable.  His engagement is always positive, thoughtful and he encourages open conversations with all.  I admire his strength when he corrects science information. Not only does he discuss science, he also delves into science literacy, exploration, extinction, spirituality, culture and politics. (Tyson, n.d.)

Again, I do not utilize social media unless it is necessary.  But I would just use common sense when utilizing social media when I must, takeaways include: having time limits, post with a purpose and be respectful as it’s my responsibility to not engage in cyberbullying and not to post deceptions.  The main thing I take away from Bill Nye and Neil de Grasse Tyson is their courage to  post things that people do not want to believe or listen to,  and they do it without fear.  So, when I do utilize social media, I will use critical thinking skills to courageously post the truth and stand by it.

The main concepts I think are necessary to adhere to my own personal conduct online are: watching my tone, being responsible for my words, maintaining respect for myself and others, having peaceful conversations and not being antagonistic, not willingly posting items I know is false, keeping myself and others private information private, mindful of the language being used, not promoting falsehoods, review the information for accuracy prior to posting, checking sources of videos or information prior to posting, staying humble and showing others empathy.   Just because social media posts can be anonymous and you’re a person behind a keyboard, there still needs to be an understanding that anything posted reflects the person posting or sharing. (Freberg, 2021)

The things I feel strongly against and avoid on social media are posting inflammatory racist or hate  language,  spreading misinformation, not checking sources prior to posting, sharing personal details that are not mine, oversharing any personal details, jumping to conclusions, being argumentative, ignoring comments, participating, or promoting  unnecessary drama, stealing content and passing it off as my own, having a fake online persona, being part of crowd mentality, sharing inappropriate content, pictures or videos, being a troll, posting things in anger, being extremely negative/posting negative things, manipulating posts for my own benefit, being a bully or spreading hate, and avoiding copyright infringement. DTE Energy anunció que ha colocado una nueva matriz solar en el Centro de Investigación e Ingeniería de Ford en Dearborn, Michigan. El conjunto de 2159 paneles está ubicado en la azotea de la estructura de estacionamiento Deck 400, incluye un sistema de almacenamiento de batería integrado y se utilizará para alimentar cargadores de vehículos eléctricos (EV) recién instalados en el sitio. La matriz solar puede generar 1,127 MWh de energía limpia, que tiene un beneficio ambiental equivalente a la extracción de dióxido de carbono por casi 396.5 hectáreas de bosques de EE. UU. en un año.*

El nuevo panel solar es solo uno de los varios avances que ambas compañías están haciendo con el objetivo de reducir las emisiones de carbono. En 2019, Ford se convirtió en el primer cliente corporativo en inscribirse en el programa voluntario de energía renovable MIGreenPower de DTE. TOP 4 Antrag der Stadtratsfraktion Bündnis 90/Die Grünen - Information über die Möglichkeit des Einsatzes von Biovergärungsanlagen zur Energiegewinnung

Sachverhalt

Die Stadtratsfraktion Bündnis 90/ Die Grünen reichte am 15.01.2024 einen Antrag ein, mit dem Ziel, den Vorstand der AWISTA, Herrn Christoph Wufka einzuladen, um über die Möglichkeiten von Biovergährungsanlagen zur Energiegewinnung zu informieren.

Herr Christoph Wufka lässt seinen Mitarbeiter über das Sachthema referieren. Es gab 2023 knapp über 10.000 t Bioabfall. Es gibt einen Bewertungskatalog. Wohnbebauung in der Nähe ist ungeeignet, zu weit weg aufgrund der Wärmeleitung zurück aber auch nicht. Für den Betrieb in industrieller Form sind nur sechs Mitarbeiter notwendig. Vieles läuft vollautomatisch ab.

(Anm. d. Verf.: Ich gewinne den Eindruck, dass die vorgestellte Anlage irgendwie nicht zwingend großen Nutzen bringt. Den Vorteil so einer Anlage wird nicht so richtig vermittelt. Es klingt eher so, dass für so eine Anlage eher Probleme und Herausforderungen zu lösen sind.)

Ohne den Abfall von mehreren anderen Landkreisen wäre ein Betrieb der vorgestellten Anlage nicht wirtschaftlich möglich.

Die Debatte

Herr Janik: Er erkennt, dass es eher ums Entsorgen und nicht ums Versorgen geht.

Frau Dr. Lauer (B90/Grüne): Die Technologie ist schon seit Jahren vorhanden. In einem früheren Vortrag war noch von Biogas die Rede. Das hat sie heute vermisst. Und was passiert aktuell mit den Bioabfällen im Landkreis. Sie fragt nach der CO2-Bilanz.

Herr n.n.: Die Abfälle werden gesammelt, nach Wessling transportiert, 50% gehen an einen externen Dienstleister nach Erding und 50% gehen nach Augsburg. Die vorgestellte Anlage mit 45 t/a Abfall pro Jahr produziert für einen Vertrieb von Biogas tendenziell zu wenig Biogas. Auch sind aktuell die Preise für Biogas im Keller.

(Anm. d. Verf.: Man kann die Fragen auch kürzer beantworten.)

Herr Weidner (SPD): Er hat sich auch schon andere Anlagen angeschaut. ...

(Anm. d. Verf.: Mir ist nicht ganz klar, was hier alles bemerkt wird. Ich verliere langsam den Faden.)

Herr Fiedler (FDP): ... habe ich verpasst ...

Herr Wobbe (UWG): Er berichtet von einer Anlage, die er schon besucht hat. Die war viel kleiner. Auch für Schorn war vor 25 Jahren eine Anlage im Gespräch. Ohne Bürgerinitiativen dagegen wird es wohl nicht gehen. Für ihn wäre eine Lage in der Nähe der A96 bei der Kiesgrube zum Beispiel denkbar.

Herr Dr. Sengl (B90/Grüne): Wurde bei der Energiebilanz die Anfahrten mit eingerechnet? Und wie sieht es mit mehreren kleineren Anlagen aus? Wurde das auch kalkuliert? Wurde das Wärmenetz in die Berechnung mit einbezogen?

Hern n.n.: Ja - und ja, kleinere Anlagen wurden auch kalkuliert. Die Größe der Anlage ist nicht proportional an die Menge des Biomülls anpassbar. Es gibt teilweise nur Anlagen in "groß" und "noch größer". Das Kosten für das Wärmenetz sind bei der Kalkulation berücksichtigt worden.

(Anm. d. Verf.: Die durchaus längeren Antworten schreibe ich jetzt nicht mit - nur zusammengefasste Stichworte.)

Frau Dr. Lauer (B90/Grüne): Sie hat den Eindruck gewonnen, dass die AWISTA so eine Anlage gar nicht haben möchte. (Anm. d. Verf.: Diesen Eindruck kann ich bestätigen.) Sie fragt nach der tatsächlichen Geruchsbelastung und den Gründen, warum die AWISTA so eine Anlage realisieren möchte.

Herr n.n.: Die Geruchsbelastung ist in neueren Anlagen nicht mehr so hoch. Nahezu alles ist eingehaust. Durch die anliefernden Fahrzeugen ist eine Geruchsbelastung möglich. Der Vortrag war wertfrei. Im Landkreis München sind Kapazitäten freigeworden, so dass hier neuer Bedarf entstanden ist. Der Wunsch ist durchaus vorhanden, die Hürden sind aber hoch. Der Gegenwert ist eine konstante Strom- und Wärmelieferung.

Herr Heidinger (BLS): Sind in den 10.500 t/a auch gewerblicher Bioabfall mit dabei.

Frau n.n./Herr n.n.: Es sind keine Speisereste aus der Gastronomie berücksichtigt. Die sind per Gesetz anders zu entsorgen. 90% der Bürger/Gewerbe sind aktuell angeschlossen.

(Anm. d. Verf.: Die erste Stunde ist herum. Das hätte man auch schneller beraten können. Na, immerhin sind wir jetzt alle ein wenig schlauer und wissen halbwegs, wie man so eine Biovergährungsanlage industriell betreiben könnte.)

Beschlussvorschlag

Der Stadtrat nimmt die Informationen zum Einsatz von Biovergährungsanlagen zur Energiegewinnung zur Kenntnis.

TOP 5 Haushaltskonsolidierung 2024: Genehmigung der vom Kulturausschuss bewilligten Zuschussanträge aus dem Kulturbereich und der ARGE Französische Woche für das Haushaltsjahr 2024

Sachverhalt

Der Stadtrat hat in seiner Sitzung am 08.02.2024 für die Kulturförderung ein Gesamtbudget in Höhe von 100.000 Euro beschlossen.

Der Kulturausschuss bewilligt für das Haushaltsjahr 2024 die kostenfreie Nutzung der Schlossberghalle für das Fünf Seen Filmfestival 2024, die Starnberger Musiktage 2024, den Kunstverein Starnberg e.V., die Starnberger Faschingsgesellschaft Perchalla e.V. und die Stadtkapelle Starnberg e.V. Der Kulturausschuss bewilligt, dass für die kostenfreie Nutzung der Schlossberghalle 19.000 Euro in den Haushalt 2024 unter 3000.7070 eingestellt werden.

Abstimmungsergebnis:

Gemäß den im Kulturausschuss gefassten Beschlüssen ergibt sich ein Förderbedarf in Höhe von 114.900 Euro. Darin inkludiert ist die Unentgeltliche Nutzungsüberlassung der Schlossberghalle für Starnberger Vereine und Kulturveranstalter in Höhe von 19.000 Euro. Da die im Stadtrat beschlossene Deckelung von 100.000 Euro nicht erreicht wurde, wird die vorliegende Fördersumme erneut dem Stadtrat zum Beschluss vorgelegt.

Die Debatte

Herr Weidner (SPD): Er bittet um eine Erhöhung der Förderung für das FSFF. Da wurde 2x gekürzt auf 53%. Die 2. Kürzung sollte wieder aufgehoben werden, gerade weil das FSFF eine große Bedeutung über Starnberg hinaus hat. Das FSFF ist das 3. größte deutschsprachige Filmfestival.

Herr Janik: Die Gratis-Nutzung der Schlossberghalle war nicht berücksichtigt. Laut Presse kann das FSFF auch mit dem geringeren Zuschuss leben. Er schlägt vor, noch 3.000 € für einen der Filmpreise mit daraufzulegen. Das FFSF ist schon einer der größten Empfänger. Wenn erhöht werden sollte, soll es nur für dieses Jahr gelten.

Herr Wobbe (UWG): Er möchte die 114.000 € nicht überschreiten. Bisher wurde an drei Positionen noch gar nicht gekürzt. Da könnte man vielleicht 1.000 bis 3.000 € bei den Dreien umverteilen.

Frau Kammerl (CSU): Sie möchte an den Beschlüssen nicht mehr ändern. Das wurde im Kulturausschuss bereits rege diskutiert. Man könnte beim FSFF auch höhere Eintrittspreise verlangen. Der Landkreis zahlt nur 10.000 €. Die Stadt unterstützt hier schon mit dem doppelten Betrag.

Herr Jägerhuber (CSU): Das Kürzen der freiwilligen Leistungen tut weh. Die kostenlose Nutzung der Schlossberghalle ist auch eine Unterstützung. Und die für 10.000 € gelegte Stromleitung für das FFSF im Wasserpark kann man auch noch dazu zählen.

Herr Fiedler (FDP): Das Paket des Kulturausschusses sollte nicht wieder aufgeschnürt werden.

Herr Weidner (SPD): Er findet es nicht sachgerecht, wenn die Stromleitung nur dem FFSF zugerechnet werden. Da könnten jetzt auch andere diesen Standort nutzen.

Beschlussvorschlag

Der Stadtrat bewilligt für die Kulturförderung im Haushaltsjahr 2024 ein Gesamtbudget in Höhe von 114.900 Euro. Die Fördersumme wird gemäß der im Kulturausschuss am 21.02.2024 beschlossenen Zuschusshöhen unter den Haushaltsstellen 3000.7070, 3212.7070, 3312.7070, 3320.7070, 3321.7070, 3329.7070, 3401.7180 und 7910.7170 in den Haushalt 2024 eingestellt.

Der Stadtrat beauftragt die Verwaltung, den Entwurf einer Satzung zur Änderung der Satzung zur Regelung von Fragen des örtlichen Gemeindeverfassungsrechts zu erstellen und dem Stadtrat zur Beschlussfassung vorzulegen. Der Entwurf soll u.a. folgendes berücksichtigen:

Grundpauschale = 50 €

Sitzungsgeld = 50 € je Sitzung

Im Vollzug des Beschlusses hat die Verwaltung folgenden Satzungsentwurf erstellt.

Finden an einem Tag mehrere Sitzungen statt, wird das Sitzungsgeld nur einmal gezahlt.

§2

Diese Satzung tritt einen Tag nach ihrer Bekanntmachung in Kraft.

Der Stadtrat hat in seiner Sitzung am 19.02.2024 u.a. folgendes beschlossen:

TOP 8 Regionalmanagement München Südwest e.V.; Hier: Mitgliedschaft im Regionalmanagement

Sachverhalt

Die Städte München, Germering, Starnberg sowie die Gemeinden Gauting, Neuried, Krailling, Planegg und Gräfelfing haben nach der gemeinsamen Erarbeitung eines Raumordnerischen Entwicklungskonzeptes München Südwest beschlossen, die Zusammenarbeit zu verstetigen und den Verein Regionalmanagement München Südwest e.V. gegründet.

Die Mitgliedschaft im Verein wurde seitens der Stadt Starnberg für die jeweiligen Förderzeiträume bereits zweimal verlängert. Die aktuell laufende Förderphase endet Ende 2024. Die Mitgliedschaft umfasst eine anteilige Beteiligung zur Finanzierung des Regionalmanagements. Der Beitrag beläuft sich derzeit auf 16.000 € brutto jährlich.

Im Rahmen der Vereinsarbeit werden derzeit unterschiedliche Themen, wie etwa die Entwicklung einer Multimodalen Mobilitätsstrategie, Energiefragen oder auch die Konzeption eines regionalen Landschaftsparks Würm in Fachrunden erarbeitet.

In diesem Jahr muss eine Entscheidung bzgl. der Verlängerung der Mitgliedschaft getroffen werden. Sollte ein Austritt in Betracht kommen, so ist dieser schriftlich gegenüber dem Vorstand unter Einhaltung einer Kündigungsfrist von sechs Monaten zum Schluss des Kalenderjahres zu erklären. Entsprechend müsste eine Kündigung bis zum 30.06.2024 erfolgen.

Aufgrund der angespannten Haushaltslage möchte die Stadtverwaltung dem Stadtrat die Gelegenheit einräumen, die Mitgliedschaft vor dem Hintergrund knapper Budgets zu überdenken und fristgerecht eine Entscheidung hinsichtlich eines möglichen Austritts zu treffen.

Die Debatte

Frau Kammerl (CSU): Der Verband hat damit Bauchschmerzen, da die Finanzierung damit geringer wird. Sie besucht seit zwei Jahren für die Verwaltung die Veranstaltungen. Die Stadt München versucht dort oft, Partner für Projekte zu finden.

Herr Dr. Sengl (B90/Grüne): Man kann später auch wieder beitreten.

Herr Janik: Es gab bisher durchaus auch einen Nutzen, aber in der Summe zu wenig.

Herr Wobbe (UWG): Die Themen sind zumeist auf die München-Gemeinden ausgerichtet. Wir können da ruhigen Gewissens pausieren.

Beschlussvorschlag

Der Stadtrat beschließt, dass die Stadt Starnberg aufgrund der aktuellen Haushaltslage für die kommende Förderperiode nach 2024 nicht weiter Mitglied des Vereins Regionalmanagement München Südwest e.V. bleibt.

TOP 9 Aufhebung der Richtlinie für die Gewährung von Zinsvergünstigungen zur Beschaffung von Wohnraum für Beschäftigte der Stadt Starnberg

Sachverhalt

Im Jahr 1974 wurde eine Richtlinie für die Gewährung von Zinsvergünstigungen von Wohnraum für Beschäftigte der Stadt Starnberg vom Stadtrat erlassen. Diese Richtlinie wurde am 24.10.2005 durch Stadtratsbeschluss geändert.

Aufgrund der geringen Nachfrage bei den Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter der Stadt Starnberg (wird derzeit von vier Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern genutzt) sowie der angespannten Haushaltslage, schlägt die Verwaltung die Aufhebung dieser Richtlinie vor. Ab sofort sollten keine weiteren Zinszuschüsse gewährt werden.

Frau Falk (SPD): Sie möchte dagegen setzen. Jedes Merkmal, was uns von anderen Gemeinden unterscheidet, ist wichtig. Da es nur wenige nutzen, kann man das so belassen.

Herr Jägerhuber (CSU): Die Nutzer sind überschaubar. Durch die Unterstützung wird och auch Personal gebunden.

Der Stadtrat beschließt die Aufhebung der Richtlinie vom 07.10.1974 in der Fassung vom 26.10.2005. Die laufenden Zinszuschüsse werden vereinbarungsgemäß abgewickelt, ab sofort werden keine weiteren Zinszuschüsse gewährt.

Da sicher von nicht Wenigen eine Mitgliedschaft in einem Verein mit wenig konkreten Auswirkungen als weniger sinnvoll angesehen wird als so manche lokale kulturelle Veranstaltung, ist der Austritt aus dem RMMS die auch in meinen Augen richtige Konsequenz.

Die Konsolidierungsversuche gehen weiter und sind heute nur teilweise genehmigt worden. Wir sind ja noch nicht am Ende des Prozesses.

Und mit zwei Stunden ist die öffentliche Sitzung zügig abgeschlossen worden. Hoffentlich artet der nicht öffentliche Teil zeitlich nicht aus.

Wines of the year, 2023

Given the nature of my work and the fine wine folk I am so lucky to rub elbows with on the regular, I taste thousands of wines each year. These are the ones I remember most fondly: the way they opened the world, the way they centred experience, and all the kind souls that shared them with me. 

I will remember 2023 as the year I really shed my ignorance and fell in love with Bordeaux and a year in which my partner and I continued our love affair with Jura Chards and Loire Chenins and entered into a new obsession with the great dessert wines of the world.

This list probably looks unhinged to the non-obsessed haha. Without having a social media outlet these last few years, it feels like some small gesture to the hardworking producers who crafted these works of art to be able to shout them out and thank them for their work. So here were the gems:
