There so many layers on this I’m really kicking myself 🦵🙇🏻‍♀️ for not taking process pics. This is my cover for @johannaclough #namelessartsjournal series. I started out with thin chipboard and reinforced it with thicker cardboard. I then covered it in fabric and collaged over it with scraps of paper. Then a layer of grey acrylic. Then a layer of fiber paste and stencils. Then a layer of brown paint. Then an layer of gold crackle paint and finally the grey/green/black paint. Whoa. It’s a wonder the cardboard held up. A Hummingbird in soft pastels from an online class with @mbaggetta Trying to capture the wing movement is tricky! I tinted some Pastel ground with light green acrylic ink and painted the background on some printmaking paper. On a home decor kick. This vanity desk was thrown out & I couldn’t resist. I chunked up the paint and liked seeing the layers of green, blue, cream, pink, white & seafoam peeking through and found a laminate top! Then I stenciled mandalas in copper & white and painted the inside metallic copper. I put satin clear on after to stop any flakes or peeling.
