Greenland, an autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark, is facing climate change since years with ice melting, the animals' behaviours and seasons change, threatening Inuit cultures and lifestyle.

As the ice is melting, it is harder for hunters and fishermen to go for their activities, for hunting and for fishing. Those activities among others are necessary for many Inuit people to get food. For centuries, many of them used to rely on natural resources to get food. But today, climate change makes it harder, to such an extent that hunters and fishermen, affected by poverty, are forced to eat fast food, poor in nutrients. Dog sledding, a traditional way of transportation, praticed for centuries is also threatened by climate change. As the ice is thinner and thinner, it is becoming too dangerous to dog sledding, some, unfortunately, died from drowning. Dog sledging is also a way for many to connect, when they live in more isolated places.

 It is a whole way of life, a culture that is under threat. And if they can no longer hold that position, how can they cope when the education system is in Danish and they are not so proficient in the language? All those changes can definitely lead to mental health issues, issues Greenland is familiar with, as suicide is a huge social issue for decades. A short description listing only some of the effects of the climate crisis. 

What about the Danish government? Does it give enough support? Not enough at all for Seqinninguaq, explaining in the video clips how the Danish policy on climate change take in non-effective actions and how at the same time they damage environmentally the Greenlandic lands.

As many of you may know, I have been on a journey the last few years of learning to accept that I am a fat person. Part of that has involved figuring out how to present myself in ways that make me feel good. As you can probably imagine, spending the first 30 years of my life feeling compelled to wear over priced garbage bags and sweats until I can starve my body into a tiny enough size to be worthy of fashionable clothing has not helped me to develop a sense of personal style, so I often find myself bumbling through looks that look amazing on other beautiful women of size, but not always feeling like those looks suit me. I find it particularly difficult to find the right balance of femininity for me, the right balance of modernity vs. retroness, the right balance of casualness vs. formality vs. my rock and roll spirit, and most of my attempts feel some level of awkward for me. But I have to tell you guys, I am really loving my looks lately. I'm super thrilled with my hair cut, my developing makeup skills and routine, and I am just totally stoked at this jeans-tshirt-blazer look I'm rocking today! “The attorneys representing young people who are suing the federal government in a major climate change lawsuit recently took the unusual step of filing an injunction to stop all new leases for fossil fuel production. If the injunction is granted, it would lead to a nationwide moratorium on new fossil fuel permitting and leasing on federal lands and waters until the lawsuit is resolved. No small matter. Recognizing the urgent need for action doesn’t always give rise to the political will necessary to follow through, particularly with an issue as complex as transitioning the global economy away from fossil fuels. Climate change presents the single biggest threat to sustainable development everywhere and its widespread, unprecedented impacts disproportionately burden the poorest and most vulnerable.
