Get blasted!#This was a tech & art demo to figure out how to make more dynamic battle portraits.#Unfortunately the coding has been a lot more difficult than anticipated...We couldn't show off what we wanted to!#I still learned a ton of new things that will going to make this project look even better!#Doing these tech demos with fan art has been extremely helpful becuase I can get through my messy learning stage-#-without having to redo a ton of assets because I found out that I needed to approach things a different way.#That said: I *will* be posting Original Content for these game dev diary posts fairly soon!#This is all to help me and my game dev partner experiment with RPG maker for our own game after all B*)#I'm really excited to share this project with you all! So I thought I'd give ace attorney a try but it is the least accessible game I have ever played and I cannot play it at all

It constantly hits you with a bright white flash ~for emphasis~ and there's no way to turn it off and no mod to fix it (I have looked as thoroughly as I am able)

Blehhhh anyone who knows how to mod things wanna earn my gratitude?

once again i am being subjected to "educational courses on generative AI" (lengthy advertisements that the higher ups want us to watch so they can say that we are trained in AI)

#it's a contact year we need to show that we spend a lot of tiem not only maintaining this stuff but also learning and improving the produc #we provide #they never define what they mean by AI or how the AI actually works its driving me insane #whoah this adobe ai can generate an image for you and insert it into the image you have have without learning photoshop #yeah but HOW. where are these images being pulled from? what methods are used to produce this shit #HOLY SHIT: most programmers dont actually spend that much time programming. they actually spend a lot of time in meetings. helping coworker #reading emails. reading documentation. HELLO???? YES??? #.most of the feelings were thrown onto evan since like. i dunno feels like a lot of the works like that write the npcs as fi the npcs-#.are actually people from outside the game transported into the game and have points of refrence about this whole thing and react how ''rea #.people'' would react to learning that they were inside a video game #.when really the npcs would prolly react closer to just going yea okay. since that's their world. they have no other world. that's their #.universe. and now they ave a little bit more info about their own universe #.yea they could have an existencial crisis if they knew what it means but also like #.''ooooh that means that i'm not real'' uhm. yea they are. they still are. that world is real from their perspective and continues to be #.real even after the learn about this #.from OUR perspective they aren't! but from theirs? yea! they are!#.also it9 s not like they would instantly know everything about how video games work even if they had no prior knwledge of that #.why would they try to change the fact that they're made out of lines of code #.that's like being mad and wanting to change the fact that they're made out of atoms #.except in their case it's ones and zeros in a computer #.PLUS!!!!!!!!! I made up a pet mini monster that I drew in pencil on my desk and I would draw out feeding it and giving it water etc. like it was a self-imposed tomodachi. Then the cleaners started cleaning it off. So began a turf war over domain of my own desk - every day I'd draw him again, every time they spotted him they'd rub him out. Much to my teacher's chagrin I did NOT stop doing this after she told me to stop vandalising my desk and pay attention in class, because, as I told her, "it's just pencil". She was similarly displeased when I got sick of him being erased so I resorted to drawing him in my notes and on scrap pieces of paper instead.

That and I wrote secret notes to my friend planning our next moves in the LARP game we made up to play at break. The teacher once caught us and tried to do that public shaming thing that's, y'know, well known as a terrible teaching method, where they expose the conversation in front of the whole class, but this proved impossible for as her my friend and I communicated in the Dragonology Dragon Runes and LOTR Elvish alphabets exclusively. She tried to get us to read it for her and we were just like "no lol".

Just in case anyone was wondering what the nerd version of these antics is. Sometimes it isn't dangerous, it's just weird!

"kids don't pay attention in class anymore Because Of Phone" is so funny as an argument. students haven't paid attention in class since school was invented. my parents' generation were in there making flipbooks out of the corners of their notebooks and doodling random shit instead of taking notes. and they didn't have phones.

ok i just wanted to be able to talk about how the process was with this and how i feel about the results and whatnot...

ive been wanting to make a google slides visual novel since i was like 13 LOL it hit the point where i was repeatedly told i should just learn to code but i was like NOOOOO ITS GOTTA BE GOOGLE SLIDESSSS which is totally stupid but hey. i think that gives it some sort of simple charm that reminds me of being 16 and doing little projects in my room LOL i like working with the easiest tools . my bad

anyway. im just very happy LOL. it's not perfect but i feel like i came full circle in a sense?!?! i've been into creepypasta since i was 9 and it comforted me when things were really hard, and when i was 18 i was going through a really hard time and got back into creepypasta as a way to distract myself. i've always had a habit of throwing myself into fiction for escapism when things suuucked.

i'm 20 now but i've met SO many amazing people, had so many fun awesome exciting projects with friends, created tons of stuff im proud of, felt more motivated to create since i was like 13, have been inspired by so many amazing artists/authors on here, etc. just so so so lucky to find community in such a tight-knit cute fandom that thrives off of creativity and playing around! i hope i can keep the momentum and make a couple more chapters this year, but im kinda busy with school and work...LOL . i'm just excited to have this posted so i can have more discussion about it T_T
