A take that I'd like to bang like a drum over and over again:
Engaging with stories in a pedantic or analytical way isn't bad, it's just a different way of making, interacting with, and enjoying media that might work for some people but not everyone.
Being prescriptive that everyone should engage with stories the same way is bad. The CinemaSins people or whatever you find most annoying aren't a problem until they start telling people how stories should work.
If you're telling people that they should shut up about consistent worldbuilding or plate tectonics or weird implications of story logic because the story is really about the character dynamics, you're just a different flavor of annoying.

Prequel piece to:
Crazy (NSFW) - Pope's always been crazy but now he's also a man in love.
Tomorrow - Pope's family always fuck up the good in his life.
Do Over Day (NSFW) - Pope tries to make up for the day before.
Tumblr media
Your relationship with Pope begins because of a safe.
A Garibaldi 1965 to be exact.
It’s a beautiful antique of a thing. It’s also a complete pain in the ass to get into, which is why they call in an expert.
The Professional is what you’re known as in their world. Every job you’ve ever pulled is seamless, a complete work of art Pope can’t help but admire. You’re consulting fee shows it too, you know your value and you won’t settle for less. As much as Smurf begrudges it, they need you otherwise the work and the money they’ve already put into this job, it’ll be completely wasted.
When you step through the door every single one of them is taken back because what they didn’t expect was a woman, a damn fine one.
Craig hones on that almost immediately but you shut him down by holding up your hand as if he were a dog, stopping him in his tracks. “Oh honey, you are so far from my type it isn’t even funny.”
His mother’s jaw tenses as she watches you because already you’re commanding the room and she doesn’t like the competition.
“She’s gotta be a dyke.” Craig says later when you and Smurf step outside to discuss bringing you onto the crew for the job because they’ve just realised how momentously fucked they are. “It’s the only explanation.”
“Or she just doesn’t like cokeheads.” Deran supplies, sipping from his beer. “If Smurf can convince her to get on board that’s probably gonna mean you’re gonna have to quit powdering your nose for a couple of hours while we get shit done.”
“Fuck that.” Craig says as the sliding door opens and you and Smurf step back into the kitchen.
“Alright.” You address the group as you stand there with your hands on your hips. “You wanna get into that safe it’s gonna take two of us. My partner in crime needs to be someone meticulous with attention to detail and steady hands. Who isn’t going to flake out going over the same thing over and over and over again so they can get the muscle memory boxed off.”
The last comment is directed at Craig, they can tell from the forceful look you give him.
“I guess that’s me.” Pope says raising to his feet. “Since I’m the only one with an attention span longer that the time it takes to do a line.”
He feels your gaze on him, calm and analytical, taking in his shirt buttoned all the way up to the throat, his stillness as he stands before you.
“You’ll do.” You say before jerking your head towards the front gate. “Come on, we’re going for a ride to my workshop.”
And that’s how it starts. Hours and days spent in close proximity as you teach him the delicate art of safecracking. He’s used to a more brute force approach. Tearing the shit out of concrete, blowtorching the mother fucker but the way you work, it’s like magic. Thorough, mediative. He comes out of your workshop at the end of each session feeling calmer, like some sort of balance has been restored inside him.
“I don’t like how much time you’re spending with that girl.” Smurf tells him, one morning on the way out the door.
“It’s for the job, you know it is.” He tells her before leaving.
But it’s not, not really because the two of you have started getting close. A couple of beers on your back porch overlooking the beach, dinner from a food truck before you kick off your shoes and take a walk along the shoreline, the water cascading over your ankles.
“I want to learn more.” He tells you once the job is over. It’s true, he does but he also doesn’t want this to end. You’re the first woman he’s felt an interest in in a long time, the first one that might actually see him.
You step outside onto the porch instead of letting him in the way you usually do. He knows it’s because of Smurf, that she warned you off him, told you his secrets. You know the truth now about how fucked up he is.
This is what she does when he starts trying to build something outside of the family, she cuts off his life lines, leaves him twisting in the wind until he realises the only place he can go is back to the house he grew up in, the family that steal away little pieces of his sanity until the darkness eats him up.
“Look…” He begins but you’re already wrapping your arms around his neck, gathering him up into a hug. He stiffens at first because he can’t remember the last time someone held him. His muscles relax and he draws you closer, his cheek coming to rest against yours as he breathes in the scent of the ocean clinging to your skin.
“You’re not the only one that’s fucked up.” You whisper, your breath ghosting in his ear. “I killed my father when I was fifteen because he was creeping into my bed at night.”
His grip on you tightens as he buries his face into the curve of your throat.
“Don’t let her use that shit to control you. You’re not the person she’s trying to turn you into, you’re more than that.”
“How do you know?” He murmurs, his forehead coming to rest upon yours so he can look into your eyes. “How do you know I’m not the monster she wants me to be?”
“Because I see your sadness.” You tell him, your fingertips trailing over the copper stubble that mars his cheek. “You do it for the love and all you get back is this feeling in your chest, this emptiness that feels like it eats up your entire soul.”
“I don’t wanna be like this anymore.” He tells you, his voice breaking. “I don’t want to keep losing myself.”
“You don’t have to.” You tell him, your palm coming to rest upon his heart. He can feel it thudding underneath the pads of your fingers as he clasps it there, his connection, his way back to humanity. “The two of us, we’ll figure it out, I promise.”

Ruler of the 3rd through the houses
ruler of the 3rd house through the houses reveals how your mind works, how you learn and speak, your communication style, relationships with siblings, and how you move through your local environment. This also ties into social intelligence, storytelling, and how you interpret the world around you.
3rd House Ruler in the 1st House
Your mind is your identity.
You communicate with intensity and presence. Your thoughts are quick, and your words can leave an impression. People might see you as opinionated, witty, or always “in the know.” You probably need to speak to understand yourself. Talking over others, impatient listening are throngs that can happen.
3rd House Ruler in the 2nd House
Speaking as a source of value.
You might monetize your communication skills — writing, teaching, sales, or media. You think in practical terms, and your thoughts often revolve around worth, values, and security. Grounded, hands-on, slow but lasting retention. Watch for fixed mindsets, and attaching ideas to material worth.
3rd House Ruler in the 3rd House
Ultra communicator.
This doubles the Mercurial energy. You’re endlessly curious, naturally sharp, and likely live in your head. There’s a deep connection to language, possibly a gift for mimicry, writing, or storytelling. Fast, curious, often self-taught or info-obsessed.
3rd House Ruler in the 4th House
The inner voice is shaped by the past.
Thoughts are deeply emotional. You may reflect and process internally before speaking. Early home life or family dynamics may have shaped your communication style — for better or worse. Emotional, intuitive, learns best when feeling safe. Prone to overly subjective thinking, and clinging to the past.
3rd House Ruler in the 5th House
Creative communicator.
You speak with flair and passion. Storytelling, poetry, performance, or playful communication comes naturally. You’re likely the funny friend, the flirt, or the drama-filled texter.
3rd House Ruler in the 6th House
The mind as a tool.
You’re a practical thinker. Your thoughts are often directed toward improving systems, fixing problems, or helping others. You may work in writing, analysis, healing, or admin roles. Systematic, structured, analytical.
3rd House Ruler in the 7th House
Your words shape your relationships.
You’re a natural negotiator, communicator, or mediator. Conversation is your love language. Partnerships (romantic or professional) deeply shape your mindset.
3rd House Ruler in the 8th House
The secret mind.
You think deeply, intensely, and often privately. You may be interested in taboo subjects, psychology, mysteries, or healing. Your words hold weight — and often power. Deep dive thinker, emotionally charged type of learners.
3rd House Ruler in the 9th House
The philosophical mind.
You learn best through big ideas, different cultures, or spiritual exploration. You may be a natural teacher, traveler, or someone who bridges practical thinking with visionary ideas. Expansive, big-picture, philosophical.
3rd House Ruler in the 10th House
Public voice, visible mind.
You may communicate for your career or be known for your ideas. Your thoughts are goal-oriented, structured, and ambitious. Think speaker, writer, CEO, or spokesperson. Authoritative, strategic, often career-focused.
3rd House Ruler in the 11th House
The networked mind.
Your ideas move through community, technology, and social movements. You think about the future, the collective, and what’s next. Possibly gifted in digital spaces or group organizing. Social, futuristic, thrives in collaboration. Prone to overthinking social roles, and groupthink tendencies.
3rd House Ruler in the 12th House
The mystical or hidden mind.
Your mind is imaginative, dreamlike, and intuitive. You may communicate best through art, music, or subtle emotional language. You often process things internally before expressing them. Intuitive, visual, dreamy — needs time alone.

How lock-in hurts design
Tumblr media
Berliners: Otherland has added a second date (Jan 28) for my book-talk after the first one sold out - book now!
Tumblr media
If you've ever read about design, you've probably encountered the idea of "paving the desire path." A "desire path" is an erosion path created by people departing from the official walkway and taking their own route. The story goes that smart campus planners don't fight the desire paths laid down by students; they pave them, formalizing the route that their constituents have voted for with their feet.
Desire paths aren't always great (Wikipedia notes that "desire paths sometimes cut through sensitive habitats and exclusion zones, threatening wildlife and park security"), but in the context of design, a desire path is a way that users communicate with designers, creating a feedback loop between those two groups. The designers make a product, the users use it in ways that surprise the designer, and the designer integrates all that into a new revision of the product.
This method is widely heralded as a means of "co-innovating" between users and companies. Designers who practice the method are lauded for their humility, their willingness to learn from their users. Tech history is strewn with examples of successful paved desire-paths.
Take John Deere. While today the company is notorious for its war on its customers (via its opposition to right to repair), Deere was once a leader in co-innovation, dispatching roving field engineers to visit farms and learn how farmers had modified their tractors. The best of these modifications would then be worked into the next round of tractor designs, in a virtuous cycle:
https://securityledger.com/2019/03/opinion-my-grandfathers-john-deere-would-support-our-right-to-repair/
But this pattern is even more pronounced in the digital world, because it's much easier to update a digital service than it is to update all the tractors in the field, especially if that service is cloud-based, meaning you can modify the back-end everyone is instantly updated. The most celebrated example of this co-creation is Twitter, whose users created a host of its core features.
Retweets, for example, were a user creation. Users who saw something they liked on the service would type "RT" and paste the text and the link into a new tweet composition window. Same for quote-tweets: users copied the URL for a tweet and pasted it in below their own commentary. Twitter designers observed this user innovation and formalized it, turning it into part of Twitter's core feature-set.
Companies are obsessed with discovering digital desire paths. They pay fortunes for analytics software to produce maps of how their users interact with their services, run focus groups, even embed sneaky screen-recording software into their web-pages:
https://www.wired.com/story/the-dark-side-of-replay-sessions-that-record-your-every-move-online/
This relentless surveillance of users is pursued in the name of making things better for them: let us spy on you and we'll figure out where your pain-points and friction are coming from, and remove those. We all win!
But this impulse is a world apart from the humility and respect implied by co-innovation. The constant, nonconsensual observation of users has more to do with controlling users than learning from them.
That is, after all, the ethos of modern technology: the more control a company can exert over its users ,the more value it can transfer from those users to its shareholders. That's the key to enshittification, the ubiquitous platform decay that has degraded virtually all the technology we use, making it worse every day:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/02/19/twiddler/
When you are seeking to control users, the desire paths they create are all too frequently a means to wrestling control back from you. Take advertising: every time a service makes its ads more obnoxious and invasive, it creates an incentive for its users to search for "how do I install an ad-blocker":
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2019/07/adblocking-how-about-nah
More than half of all web-users have installed ad-blockers. It's the largest consumer boycott in human history:
https://doc.searls.com/2023/11/11/how-is-the-worlds-biggest-boycott-doing/
But zero app users have installed ad-blockers, because reverse-engineering an app requires that you bypass its encryption, triggering liability under Section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. This law provides for a $500,000 fine and a 5-year prison sentence for "circumvention" of access controls:
https://pluralistic.net/2024/01/12/youre-holding-it-wrong/#if-dishwashers-were-iphones
Beyond that, modifying an app creates liability under copyright, trademark, patent, trade secrets, noncompete, nondisclosure and so on. It's what Jay Freeman calls "felony contempt of business model":
https://locusmag.com/2020/09/cory-doctorow-ip/
This is why services are so horny to drive you to install their app rather using their websites: they are trying to get you to do something that, given your druthers, you would prefer not to do. They want to force you to exit through the gift shop, you want to carve a desire path straight to the parking lot. Apps let them mobilize the law to literally criminalize those desire paths.
An app is just a web-page wrapped in enough IP to make it a felony to block ads in it (or do anything else that wrestles value back from a company). Apps are web-pages where everything not forbidden is mandatory.
Seen in this light, an app is a way to wage war on desire paths, to abandon the cooperative model for co-innovation in favor of the adversarial model of user control and extraction.
Corporate apologists like to claim that the proliferation of apps proves that users like them. Neoliberal economists love the idea that business as usual represents a "revealed preference." This is an intellectually unserious tautology: "you do this, so you must like it":
https://boingboing.net/2024/01/22/hp-ceo-says-customers-are-a-bad-investment-unless-they-can-be-made-to-buy-companys-drm-ink-cartridges.html
Calling an action where no alternatives are permissible a "preference" or a "choice" is a cheap trick – especially when considered against the "preferences" that reveal themselves when a real choice is possible. Take commercial surveillance: when Apple gave Ios users a choice about being spied on – a one-click opt of of app-based surveillance – 96% of users choice no spying:
https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/05/96-of-us-users-opt-out-of-app-tracking-in-ios-14-5-analytics-find/
But then Apple started spying on those very same users that had opted out of spying by Facebook and other Apple competitors:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/11/14/luxury-surveillance/#liar-liar
Neoclassical economists aren't just obsessed with revealed preferences – they also love to bandy about the idea of "moral hazard": economic arrangements that tempt people to be dishonest. This is typically applied to the public ("consumers" in the contemptuous parlance of econospeak). But apps are pure moral hazard – for corporations. The ability to prohibit desire paths – and literally imprison rivals who help your users thwart those prohibitions – is too tempting for companies to resist.
The fact that the majority of web users block ads reveals a strong preference for not being spied on ("users just want relevant ads" is such an obvious lie that doesn't merit any serious discussion):
https://www.iccl.ie/news/82-of-the-irish-public-wants-big-techs-toxic-algorithms-switched-off/
Giant companies attained their scale by learning from their users, not by thwarting them. The person using technology always knows something about what they need to do and how they want to do it that the designers can never anticipate. This is especially true of people who are unlike those designers – people who live on the other side of the world, or the other side of the economic divide, or whose bodies don't work the way that the designers' bodies do:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/10/20/benevolent-dictators/#felony-contempt-of-business-model
Apps – and other technologies that are locked down so their users can be locked in – are the height of technological arrogance. They embody a belief that users are to be told, not heard. If a user wants to do something that the designer didn't anticipate, that's the user's fault:
https://www.wired.com/2010/06/iphone-4-holding-it-wrong/
Corporate enthusiasm for prohibiting you from reconfiguring the tools you use to suit your needs is a declaration of the end of history. "Sure," John Deere execs say, "we once learned from farmers by observing how they modified their tractors. But today's farmers are so much stupider and we are so much smarter that we have nothing to learn from them anymore."
Spying on your users to control them is a poor substitute asking your users their permission to learn from them. Without technological self-determination, preferences can't be revealed. Without the right to seize the means of computation, the desire paths never emerge, leaving designers in the dark about what users really want.
Our policymakers swear loyalty to "innovation" but when corporations ask for the right to decide who can innovate and how, they fall all over themselves to create laws that let companies punish users for the crime of contempt of business-model.

Like A Father
Platonic Yandere! König x GN!Reader
Wordcount: 3040
AN: Hey friends! I’ve been craving a cute(?) oneshot about König and it’s been running through my mind for ages. I’m supposed to be writing some final papers but I’m making the executive decision to ignore that. It’s self indulgent and I love it. I am but a mere gluttonous beast when it comes to writing.
TW: Yandere behaviors, drugging, kidnapping, delusional loser man behavior, somewhat realism, software engineering and tech stuff, reader in their 20’s, employment, the author’s severe daddy issues, very brief implication of the idea of SH
♡♡♡
You hadn’t wanted to work for a PMC but the pay was what the bills were demanding. You had your own office and could ignore your coworkers pretty easily. All you really did was keep the wifi on and the necessary websites running. It was a cushy gig and you had a surprising amount of free time. Your bosses praised your dedication to your job and you only rarely had to emerge from the comfort of your office for occasional meetings. The rest of your time was spent either playing cute little games on your phone, reading, or scrolling around through social media.
During your first meeting, you sat at the only empty seat near the head of the table. You were introduced, said your hellos, and just listened to the presentations and discussions going on. Any time someone asked your opinions on a subject, you politely deflected and said that you’d have to get better acquainted with the current systems and that the last person in your position left quite a bit to review. This was met with approving nods and appreciative words. You learned that the guy who did your job before you wasn’t great and that your coworkers were excited to be able to access the internet on a regular basis.
While the others droned on about the logistics of sending soldiers to wherever they were being sent, you took the opportunity to look around the room at your new bosses and coworkers. All of them were grizzled and at least middle aged. You could tell that they were all in the military for their respective countries before coming to work here and, quite frankly, you didn’t want to know the reasons why any of them left. You stood out like a sore thumb in comparison to their crisp uniforms and permanent scowls. Your face was youthful and you lacked the experience that they clearly had. You wore a button up and slacks that you specifically chose for comfort and the notebook you carried had small stickers decorating the cover. You seemed almost childish but it was clear from the notes you took that you were a fast learner.
You decided to take a closer look at the two men sitting next to you. On your right was the head of logistics. He was intimidating but not much more so than the rest of the group. He was frustrated that one of the company’s suppliers wouldn’t be available to drop off his preferred breakfast but quickly came up with a solution thanks to a suggestion from the head of housing.
On your left was a giant man that towered over everyone in the room. He was the head of one of the company president’s preferred teams. You could tell that his advice was highly valued by the rest of the men in the meeting. His face was scarred and his gaze was piercing and analytical when you looked up at him. You could feel him watching you as you quickly looked away and tried your best to listen to the rest of the meeting. You didn’t see the way that the corners of his mouth twitched up into almost a smile.
During your second meeting, you sat in the same spot. The man on your left scared you but what could you do? He had seniority and he only made eye contact. You gave him and the rest of the men in the meeting a polite nod and buried your face in your notes. You zoned out a bit while trying and failing to pay attention, wishing you had given an excuse about needing to recode something to meet quality standards or something else that the bosses would buy. You gave some small updates on what you had done, got your deserved positive feedback, and stayed silent for the rest of the meeting.
Your third meeting went similarly to the second and you made your way back to your office once it was done. You sat at your chair and opened your notebook to review your notes when a small sticker fell out from the page that your bookmark was on. You think hard for a moment about where it could’ve come from before reaching down to grab it. It was a small, pastel yellow giraffe in a cartoonish art style with a holographic glitter background. The first thing you felt was confusion. Where did it come from? Why was it in your notes? Then, you started getting curious. You did every reverse image search that you could think of but there was nothing. You used every applicable keyword imaginable but you still couldn’t find anything.
After a longer time than you’d care to admit, you found an artist with a style that matched the art on the sticker perfectly. It was strange. There was nothing on their website or social media that matched the art on the sticker. It had to have been a custom order that wasn’t posted about. Who would have done that? None of the men at the meeting seemed like the type to buy stickers, let alone hide them in someone else’s notebook.
The week came and went. You had put the sticker on your notebook and promptly forgot about it. It just joined the landscape of cute scenes and creatures on the front cover. During your fourth meeting, you failed to see the way that the scary man on your left’s eyes sparkled with pride at the new addition to your book. That week, you had to do your first in person repair. You went down to the basement and had to plug a cord back into the wifi router for the floor. It was surprisingly easy and almost looked like an intentional unplugging. You brushed it off, figuring that it was a simple mistake or accident.
When you got back to your office, there was another sticker on your keyboard. This time, there was a little note underneath it. You pick up the sticker and peer down at the note. The handwriting was scratchy but it’s clear that whoever wrote it did their best to make it legible.
For your hard work.
You look back at the sticker after a second and observe the details in the drawing. It’s a small octopus with the same style and pastel colors as the giraffe. It has the same background and it’s clear that the same person that made the first sticker made this one too. For a moment, you just stared at the sticker and the note. It would’ve been sweet if you hadn’t locked your office door before leaving and had to unlock it when you got back.
As the months go by, you settle into a comfortable rhythm punctuated by the startling nature of little presents. The notes left with them continued to be encouraging and kind, even as the gifts began to turn into daily occurrences and changed from just stickers to other presents as well. The presents ranged from individually packaged tea bags and small candies to more stickers and the occasional roll of washi tape to tiny stress relieving candles and keychains. You put the notes that were left with them in one of the drawers of your desk and they were beginning to pile up. You find yourself glancing at the notes every once in a while, wondering who they came from.
You’ve been doing very well.
I’m glad that you decided to work here.
I’m proud of you.
It took a while to become comfortable in your role in the company. It took even longer to be able to look the intimidating man from the meetings in the eye. You still didn’t talk much, even at the company parties. You weren’t friends with any of your coworkers but you got along with everyone perfectly fine. You weren’t exactly threatening and you kept everything running smoothly so there wasn’t much conflict.
At least, that’s why you thought you weren’t close with anyone there.
No one talked about the ominous figure that followed you wherever you went in HQ. No one thought to mention the bone chilling looks given to those who said inappropriate things about you or the fact that not even a two week’s notice was given by soldiers who had been with the company for years when they took a joke too far. They disappeared and everyone knew better than to talk about it. They just avoided you at worst and made pleasant comments on your work at best.
To you, the job was getting better and better. You didn’t have to talk to a soul on most days and you only had to sit there and listen for the most part during meetings. You didn’t have a single clue about what was going on and that was the way that König liked it. He got to take care of you and watch over you like a guardian angel. Like a father.
He made sure that you were safe. He made sure that work didn’t stress you out. He made sure that no one said anything unkind to you. He made sure that you had at least something small to look forward to every day. He could afford it. He didn’t have a husband or a wife to come home to. He didn’t have any of the kids that he had dreamed about having since he was a little boy. He remembered staring at the babies he saw with their families and desperately wanting one while he was in school. He remembered watching the men on his teams raise their children and being practically green with envy. He had resigned himself to never being able to raise a child until he was looking through the job applications for the open IT position.
He paused when he read your name and started looking through your resume. It was good and you seemed suited to the job. Then, he read your cover letter. You seemed to be trying your best to be confident and your words were sweet and sincere. He decided to take a closer look at who you were. He looked through all of your social media, both personal or professional, and his heart melted.
You were perfect in every way. You were supposed to be his and he had finally found you. He was finally going to be a father.
Exactly half a year after heavily recommending you to the president of the company, you were grabbing a snack at one of the regularly scheduled office parties. König felt his heart warm when he saw you grab a second cookie from the batch that he had specifically made to suit your taste. You had become much more friendly with him and it had made him very happy. You would greet him in the hallways when you saw him and asked him how his day was when you were early to meetings.
He was used to children being afraid of him and even though he knew that you were a grown adult, the irrational part of his brain made him feel like you were the equivalent of a toddler. He figured that it was how sweet your little eyes were and how small you were compared to him. He knew that he was a scary guy and he was exceptionally proud of you for being brave and talking to him. He couldn’t help but get worried when he saw you heating things up in the microwave or fiddling with electronics. He was very concerned that you could burn or electrocute yourself and it took every ounce of self control that he had to not take over for you and have you sit and wait where he knew you would be safe. His absolute adoration of you and his fear of you getting hurt had helped him to decide that you would finally be coming home with him today. It was like the company had thrown him an adoption party after having such a long and hard road to finally having a child.
He had made sure that you would have the foods that you liked at the party and he made sure to watch over your every reaction to see if you were enjoying yourself. He wanted you to be as happy as possible at all times. He had personally given you a can of your favorite soda to help make you even happier. He smiled to himself when he saw that you finished it off fairly quickly. He knew that waking up in your new room would be a hard change and he had done his best to prepare for it. He had read all of the top books on adopting an older child and on how to make a home feel welcoming. He had spent an obscene amount of money on making sure that your room was painted in the perfect shades and that your bedding was perfectly comfortable. He had even taken up quilting to make sure that your bedspread was exactly what you would like. He had fuzzy blankets and plushies at the ready for when you inevitably had a meltdown or threw a tantrum from the stress of the change. He made sure that the bathroom was stocked with everything you’d need to take care of your hair and skin and that the theme matched your bedroom.
The most important thing that he had made sure to do was to babyproof everything. There was nothing sharp or particularly breakable and everything that wasn’t soft was bolted down. He knew that you would get bored without any games to play so he had gotten old consoles from when he was a child so you could play all day while he was working. He had bolted those down too and made sure that you couldn’t harm him or yourself with anything that he gave you. He had also made sure to give you a desk filled with art and writing supplies, as well as shelves and shelves of books for you to read. He was looking forward to reading you stories from his childhood and seeing what books, toys, and games you would favor when you were finally home with him. He figured that it would be an adequate amount of entertainment until his new kid got settled in.
You were walking to the parking lot from the main building after the party when you started to feel woozy. You stumble a bit before starting to fall, only to suddenly be caught by someone. You feel yourself getting lifted up and look up to see those terrifying eyes that had scared you so much during that very first meeting. There’s something different in those eyes this time. He looks like a kid on Christmas and the last thing that you feel before slipping into unconsciousness is horror.
König chuckles and happily carries you to his car. He hums a song that his grandmother used to sing to him as he opens the door behind his car’s driver’s seat and sets you onto the plush seating. He buckles you in and then tucks a blanket over your lap and a plushie under your arm. He had made sure that the child locks were on, even though he knew that you wouldn’t be waking up any time soon. It was good practice for his new role as your one and only parent. He knew that being a single father would be hard but oh so rewarding and fulfilling. He gets into the driver’s seat and adjusts his mirror to look back at you. He starts the car and turns on some classical music to help you sleep a bit more peacefully. He carefully begins the journey home with you and seems incredibly pleased with himself. It was well worth the trouble of drugging the soda with the proper dose of medication for your body weight and then resealing it without losing any of the carbonation.
As you slowly wake up from your drug induced slumber, you can’t help but cuddle into what you think is your bed at home. The plushness of the mattress is absolutely perfect and your body feels soothed by the comfortable cotton sheets and the weight of the warm quilt. There’s a soft plushie in your arms that you don’t recognize but you’re so out of it that you don’t care. You’re warm and comfortable and something is making your mind feel so, so relaxed. After a few minutes of cuddling, you slowly open your eyes and blink sleepily.
This isn’t your room. This isn’t your bed.
You don’t recognize any of this.
You don’t remember how you got here and it’s starting to scare you.
Before you can truly start to panic, the bedroom door opens and someone enters. Your vision is hazy and you can’t see very well until they get closer but you can tell that they’re carrying something. The person squats down next to you and your eyes start to focus. The person is a man and he reaches out toward you, resting what you now recognize as a tray on his knee. He gently checks the temperature of your forehead with his knuckles before gently stroking the top of your head.
Wait.
You recognize him.
You recognize those eyes.
He smiles down at you lovingly and seems thrilled to bits that you’re finally here with him. He carefully stands up while lifting the tray, towering over you like the imaginary monster from a child’s closet. He sits on the edge of the bed next to you and gently sets the tray down on the nightstand. It’s covered with all of your very favorite breakfast foods and your preferred drinks to go with them. He continues to smile down at you like you hung the sun, moon, and stars in the sky.
“Good morning, little one! You’ve been sleeping for a long time. Papa made you some breakfast. I think you’ll like it very much.” He coos.
You look down again at the plushie in your arms. It looks exactly like the first giraffe sticker that was given to you by a stranger at work.

Note
the asks and responses you've been posting about this ex-abuser friend and abuse as a skill set are so so interesting to me. it's more related to your responses, but I've been thinking for a long time about autistic forced passiveness teaching manipulation tactics. personally, since I've been trained out of advocating for what I want (or even noticing I want something), I've noticed I fall back on tactics anywhere from asking very leading questions to gradually pushing people's boundaries to get what I want, and a bunch of other behaviors that aren't supporting anyone. it doesn't help that a life of masking has given me a very analytical brain for social interactions. this is something I'm working on, obviously, but I imagine that there must be other autistic people who subconsciously find themselves unable to ask for what they want but also still...wanting things and having to figure out (unfortunate) ways to get them.
This is SUCH a great message, thank you for sending it. And yet another of the reasons why I hate the victim-perpetrator binary. Most Autistic people have been victims of immense boundary violation and disrespect. We're a highly marginalized, disenfranchised group! And we ALSO develop ineffective or manipulative coping strategies to deal with this reality a lot of the time, and have been taught to use them by our families and communities!
I have fallen back on many of the exact same strategies you've mentioned here, and more. I've taken on responsibility for other people's problems in a codependent way, hoping they'd magically notice all that I was doing for them and intuit what they should do for me; i've tried fixing other people's interpersonal problems for them and passed "benevolent" (I thought) gossip behind their backs; I've tried controlling people's behavior ""for their own good"" hoping that if they needed me, they'd love me; I've made passive aggressive remarks, aggressive remarks, and given people the cold shoulder. I've played "the game" with friends and partners and been artificially chilly so that I never seemed like I liked or needed them "too much", I've cried and beaten myself up when criticized in a way that has silenced or scared other people, I've directed my meltdown energy at the wrong people, and on and on.
And I've seen a LOT of Autistic people pull this kind of manipulative, incommunicative, triangulating, controlling shit, and even outright abuse one another with such tactics, and it's so tragic, and it cannot be easily explained by one person having an "abusive personality" or belonging to a "dangerous group" and another person not having those attributes. Shit is complex and contextual. And we use the tools we have been taught to use and seen treated as typical in our communities. That means we can also learn our way out of using them -- but that has to be a social process too. No one just becomes a better person through guilt or sheer force of will.

Do you know them? What do they admire about you? (possibly 18+)
This is part 2 of the secret admirer PAC. To check part 1, click here. You can either choose the same group as for the first part or choose another. It's completely up to you. For the first question, I will only be drawing one card to get a simple yes or no answer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Group 1
Do you know them ? - The Star
That's a yes. You possibly interact with this person online and/or they live at a distance from you. They could have Aquarius influence in their chart.
What do they admire about you ? - 2 of pentacles, ace of cups, 9 of pentacles, page of pentacles
They admire your youthfulness and your giving nature. They like that you try to remain impartial and never judge a book based on its cover. They like your independent thinking but also your independance in general. You work very well on your own and you're not needy, which they value. You can think for yourself. They like your analytical mind, your curiosity and your ability to learn in any circumstance. They like how honest you can be about your feelings, your experience and difficulties. You wear your heart on your sleeve and are easy to be around. You're very laid back which gives them space and security. You make them feel safe and cared for. They like your enthusiasm and openness to life. You have a good balance and your heart is pure. They admire how you're always in a good mood and seeing the glass half full. This gives me Dean/Castiel dynamic vibes. In this person's eyes, you are a Castiel.
Tumblr media
Song : (You're the) Devil in disguise - Elvis
Group 2
Do you know them? - Knight of pentacles
That's also a yes for you. You either know them through work or your studies. This person could be an earth sign. They like horses. They may have recently made an offer or given you a gift. They walk slowly.
What do they admire about you? - 5 of pentacles, 8 of cups, 3 of swords, 2 of cups
Okay this may be a bit weird but they like your clinginess and also when you complain to them about things that upset you. They admire your ability to ignore what doesn't serve you or would only bring you down. They admire that you're still standing strong despite all that you've been through. They admire your kindness and ability to connect with all people, to love them unconditionally. They like when you ask them for help or rely on them when you're feeling down. They like to see you sad. They think you're beautiful when in pain or crying. This may be a little triggering, I'm sorry. They like that you also don't deny your help and guidance to people in need. You're a good samaritan. You can't say no. They admire your resilience. Also your ability to know when to give up or to delegate. Your ability to rely on your peers or know who to find when in trouble. They like your moodiness and your bad temper. They like to see you upset. It's entertaining to them. They admire the emotional responses they can get from you because it's something they fail to understand or are unfamiliar with. This energy is rather disturbing. This gives me Crowley/Aziraphale dynamic vibes. In this person's eyes, you're an Aziraphale.
Tumblr media
Song : I wish I didn't love you so - Betty Hutton
Group 3
Do you know them? - 10 of wands
You don't know them on a personal level. You are aware of their existence but it would be very hard for you to figure out who they are. You wouldn't suspect this person to admire you. You know them either from a time of your life when you were in trouble or through a common responsibility you share. So this could be worked related, but not just that.
What do they admire about you? - 9 of wands, 8 of swords, knight of swords, 7 of cups
They admire your ability to get out of any situation and slither your way through obstacles and people's BS. They admire your feisty nature and your honesty. They think you are brave. They admire how you always keep your options open and stay alert, ready to strike at any given moment. How you never stay stuck in one spot. This person would like to tie you down so they can pick your brain apart. You're a mistery to them. This gives me Will Graham/Hannibal dynamic vibes. In this person's eyes, you're a Will Graham. Constantly thinking, constantly moving, unstoppable, impossible to get a hold of or manipulate. Hard to read. Always one step ahead. Too clever for this world. They admire how stubborn and reckless you can be at times. You're unpredictable and never boring.

ASTROLOGY OBSERVATION #14
Mars in the 2nd house is very possessive
Moon Aquarius is easy to sympathize with those around, although they may have many bad qualities, they will often be ignored by people because of their support in the team. Some in this group when they don't like someone and hate openly can easily recognize their feelings, these people can play bad tricks like using crowds, councils to bully
Here are some of the positions that I don't like very much, doesn't mean they will all be the same and I hate everyone with this aspect, it just brings some difficulties and disadvantages, takes a lot of time time to recognize and transform it:
1. Moon Square/Opposite Pluto: often emotionally volatile and explosive, has difficulty controlling anger, may experience more bad luck with women
2. Moon square / Opposite Uranus: actually this is one of the most horrible corners for me because as far as I know and actually it means about their separation from the mother physically or mentally
3. Venus square/opposite Mars: causes sexual attraction but often changes partners too quickly and gets nowhere
4. Mars Libra: passive in problem solving. The house in this position plays an important role, like the one who moves the pieces tactically. I think it is necessary to add other angles to strengthen this position, especially Pluto to increase ambition and determination.
5. Venus Gemini: often emotional, easy to play emotional roller coaster with others, unpredictable, interesting, but for me this is not a very good position in love, they easily find it difficult. hard to find the right person
6. Moon square/Opposite Saturn: often encounters problems in childhood such as abandonment, working in a difficult, deprived environment, shouldering responsibility, loneliness; They have quite a lot of psychological damage, rarely share, confide, and find it difficult to open their hearts to others. When they learn to be less strict with themselves and learn to accept and love themselves, the door in their souls will lead them to the good things that are waiting for them on the other side of their hearts.
7. Venus square/opposite Uranus: feel less interested in wanting a relationship Some positions I like:
Tumblr media
Moon trine/sextile Pluto: I once wished to have this aspect because it gives the ability to read other people's psyches and understand emotions deeply and they themselves also have a protective covering for their minds. mine
Sun trine/sextile Pluto: have their own privilege in society, they can be people whose image others consider as an authority and important figure, admire; Their passion is strong and they will try to do it
Mercury conjunct/ trine/ sextile Neptune: they have acumen, speciality and development in language, can know 2 or more languages, have artistic abilities, their voices are quite cute
Venus trine/sextile Mars: they easily radiate sexual attraction to other people (regardless of gender), which makes it easier for them to have relationships
Ascendant trine/sextile/conjunct Mercury: usually curious, cheerful, child-like eager people, they often have an active, playful appearance.
Ascendant trine/sextile/conjunct Sun: confident, shine, positive energy
Moon in Sagittarius/9th: very active, cheerful, likable, open and optimistic, they respect others and different cultures and religions
Mercury in Gemini: funny people, lots of topics to talk to, easy to talk to anyone, except people they don't like
Mercury conjunct/trine/sextile Pluto: their voice has charm, weight, usually straight to the point, analytical, inquisitive and rarely afraid of knowledge and reason
Moon sextile Venus: cute girls and boys, graceful words, pleasant, non-aggressive, cohesive and peaceful
(a position can't say who you are, everything will change, maybe for the better, maybe for the worse) try to take a deep breath and try to feel the peaceful moment in the present
Thank you everyone for inspiring me to write articles on this topic. Thank you for your love for me; love you all. Wishing you all good health, peace and luck ⭐

meet maverick
wc: 2k
synopsis: "his exploits are legendary"
main masterlist
athenaverse masterlist
a/n: the first of two updates today!! as requested by @whoismurphyslaw - "im wondering does everyone know that reader is related to maverick?
Tumblr media
“Attention on deck!” the order came and no one hesitated to stand.
All 15 of you standing straight at attention as a few men walked into the hangar you and the rest of the detachment had reported to.
One, stopped beside Hondo, who you had given a subtle nod to when you’d entered and seen him. That was Vice Admiral Beau “Cyclone” Simpson. You could feel his gaze wandering over the group of you as you all stood at attention facing the front. The second, walked until he was stood directly in front of you all. Rear Admiral Solomon “Warlock” Bates, stood firm as he addressed you all.
“Morning, welcome to your special training detachment,” he greets succinctly. You can tell he’s studying you all, trying to see what he can learn with every analytical glance. “Be seated,” he orders, and everyone takes their seats.
You risk a glance around you, quick, as you take in how everyone’s settled in.
You’d arrived early, Harvard and Yale greeting you, right when you’d pulled into the parking lot. You’d been surprised to see two others already seated in the back when you walked into the hangar. Their patches read Shadow, and Lucky. You’d never worked with either pilot before, but you made your way over and introduced yourself, chatting with the team as more pilots began to filter in.
You’d then looked to Harvard and Yale. They seemed to understand immidiately.
“let me guess, you want to sit in the front?” Yale’s the one to speak up, and you can see as Harvard bites back a laugh.
“What’s wrong with sitting in the front?” you challenge.
“Nothing,” Harvard counters, placing a hand on Yale’s shoulder placatingly before he could make an argument.
“We’re sitting behind you, not next to you, I hope you know that,” Yale states, rolling his eyes.
“Cowards,” you tease as you move toward the front of the room.
“Teacher’s pet,” Yale shoots back sitting down directly behind you.
“Mature, both of you, really,” Harvard smirks as he slides into the seat beside his pilot.
Phoenix and Bob arrived next, then Coyote, Halo and Omaha, Rooster, and then came Jake. Jake glanced at Rooster, and at the seat across the aisle from him, beside Coyote, before breezing past both, and settling himself right beside you.
You caught the way Phoenix rolled her eyes, and you did the same as he offered you a smirk and a wink.
Fritz, Fanboy, and Payback were the last of the detachment to arrive. Fritz slid in with Coyote, and the Pilot and Wizzo team took the desk across the aisle from you.
“I’m Admiral Bates, NAWDIC commander. You’re all TOPGUN graduates. The elite. The best of the best,” Bates begins, Jake shoots you another wink at that, slipping a toothpick between his teeth, and you catch the looks of pride on the other pilots in the room as well. “That was yesterday,” Bates continues, and everyone’s expressions start to turn down. “The enemy’s new fifth-generation fighter has leveled the playing field. Details are few but you can be sure that we no longer possess the technological advantage. Success, now more than ever, comes down to the man or woman in the box.”
Jake glances at you, and then back toward Phoenix, you don’t miss the middle finger she subtly sends his way, and shift your foot just enough to bump him.
“Half of you will make the cut. One of you will be named mission leader. The other half will remain in reserve.”
Jake turns his head, and you know damn well who he’s glancing at now. Men, you think, keeping your focus forward.
“Your instructor is a TOPGUN graduate with real-world experience in every mission aspect you will be expected to master,” Bates continues, and you have a horrible thought.
he never said why he was back on north island…
“His exploits are legendary.”
There’s a sinking feeling in your stomach as people begin to turn back, I’m taking some time, Sweetheart, trying something different, don’t worry about it, was all he had said when you’d brought it up.
“And he’s considered to be one of the finest pilots this program has ever produced,” Warlock admits, and you can feel how he’s staring straight at you now.
Jake turns back, and his reaction was enough to prove your hypothesis. He winces, hand coming up to his face in a bit of regret and your struck with the memory of watching Jake, Coyote, and Payback toss your dad out of the Hard Deck last night.
“What he has to teach you may very well mean the difference between life and death.”
And you finally turn, just visiting Ice, my ass…
You catch the dark expression on Rooster’s face, and you’re not sure you school your features enough either. When he turns his gaze away they meet yours and you’re not sure what it is he sees, because he stays focused on you for a moment instead.
“I give you Captain Pete Mitchell,” Warlock introduces, and you feel more than just a few eyes float over to you.
Jake and Phoenix specifically are staring quite hard and you fight to keep your expression neutral. The choked sound that Brigham makes from behind you doesn’t help, though.
“Callsign: Maverick,” Warlock finishes before stepping from the podium, and back in line with Admiral Simpson and Hondo.
Your dad finally makes eye contact with you, and all he offers is a quirked brow and a shit eating show smile, and you do your best to keep your expression flat as he finally approaches the front of the room, and assumes the position Warlock had before.
You catch the little smirk your dad throws out, and he glances at Payback, Coyote, and then to Jake, “Good Morning,” he greets, and you bite your cheek at the awkward smile that Jake proffers in return.
His foot bumps yours, and your eyes meet green, just for a second, but you can read the message clearly.
Why didn’t you say anything?
You know he’s talking about both last night at the Hard Deck and right now, only one was an active omission, though.
Your dad’s smile drops as he glances past your head, and you can imagine why, especially when he decides to focus back on you, so you relax your shoulders, and give him an encouraging nod.
He nods back and takes a deep breath before getting started, “The F-18 NATOPS,” he pats the thick stack before turning his gaze back to the desks. “It contains everything they want you to know about your aircraft..”
Your dad makes a general referral to the Admiral’s and your gaze focuses on them for just a moment, long enough to see Warlock and Hondo’s attention, and Cyclone’s discomfort, interesting.
“I’m assuming you know the book, inside and out,” he continues.
“Damn right,” Payback confirms.
“Yeah!” Harvard offers from behind you.
“Damn straight,” Hangman tags on.
“You got it!” Coyote adds.
Your stomach twists when your dad gives a nervous glance back at the admirals.
And then he tosses it.
Everyone shifts in their seats, including you, nervous looks are shot around, but you find yourself entirely focused on the man that raised you.
“So does your enemy,” Maverick says and a tension seems to settle over the hanger.
You offer up a sour smile, as you watch him analyze each Naval Aviator and WSO.
“But what the enemy doesn’t know is your limits. I intend to find them, test them, and push beyond.”
Jake’s staring at your dad in rapt attention, and you understand why. One of the reasons you’d been able to form a friendship with Jake was because you could see past the bravado, you could see him, in a way that most people couldn’t. You’d been raised by and around men like him your whole life. Reading them was as easy as reciting the alphabet. For nearly every pilot in this room, your dad was sparking something, some deeper understanding. You were pretty sure there were only two of you in the room who actually could see past it.
That being said, the other one had to actually be paying attention for that to stand.
“So, today we’ll start with what you only think you know. You show me what you’re made of.”
Your dad spends a few minutes explaining the dogfight drill he’s decided to run before excusing everyone to get their gear, and head to the jets.
The second the excusal is issued, everyone starts standing and Jake turns to you.
“I cannot believe you-” he barely get’s through his first sentence before your attention is being pulled.
“Athena, a moment,” Cyclone’s voice cuts over the noise, and everyone’s gaze jumps to you for a second.
You offer Jake a wry smile and a shrug, before turning and walking to the Admirals.
“Sirs,” you greet, as you stand at attention across from him.
“I don’t think I need to explain to you how incredibly unorthodox this situation is,” he states.
“You mean that my father is my CO or that my godbrother is in my unit, Sir?” you offer in return.
Warlock’s lip twitches into a smile which he coughs to cover, and you bite your tongue to stop a smirk at the heavy sigh Admiral Simpson offers.
“Scuttlebut is, that you earned your callsign as proof despite your genetics, Lieutenant, any chance that’s accurate?”
You study Admiral Simpson for a moment, there’s slight bags under his eyes, and you know that even though they haven’t exactly explained what the situation is, whatever this mission might be, was going to be dangerous, extremely so. The stakes had to be high if they brought your dad, of all people, in to teach.
“Goddess of war and wisdom, Sir. An instructor at Pensacola gave it me, he was familiar with Maverick’s particular brand of… approaching situations. Figured I’d earned it, for thinking and not just… doing,” you explain.
“Approaching situations, huh? Very tactful,” Cyclone mutters. “This current set up, was not my preffered outcome, so I want to make myself clear. You are here because you are considered one of the best of the best, that is not up for contention. He is here, because for some reason, Admiral and Commander of the Pacific Fleet, Tom Kazansky, seems to believe he’s the man for the job. This is highly irregular, and while your father will be responsible for most of the training and choices made, he will not be the only one. We will be watching you, Lieutenant, maybe more than anyone else, the stakes are too high to risk it, simply because you’re his daughter.”
You have to choke down the scoff you want to offer in response to that. You got to where you were through your own blood, sweat, tears, and dedication. Nothing else.
“I understand, Sir,” is what you do say.
“I’d like to clarify something,”Warlock interjects before Simpson can dismiss you.
“Yes, Sir,” you confirm shifting your gaze.
“What Cyclone here means is, if your father tries to bench you as a way to protect his child, but you seem to be the best selection, we will override that and assign you to this mission. But the same can be said in the converse. If he attempts to select you, but we feel someone else is better, we will remand you to the reserve team. You earned your spot on this detachment, and your selection predated his as your instructor. We simply need to acknowledge the fact that there is a conflict of interest here, and ensure we are all on the same page.”
Warlock, you decide, has become your favorite.
“I understand, Sir,” you repeat, though you’re sure your tone has softened a bit.
“Good, you’re dismissed, please rejoin the detachment.”
“Yes, Sir,” you confirm, saluting both admirals.
They salute back and once they walk away, you turn on your heel to head for the locker room.

Blue Lock Headcanoas!!
mainly complementary for my ao3 Bastard Truth, but also just thought of them on the way
in no particular order
Tumblr media
Hiori:
he’s a lot harsher and more honest/crude with his roommates Isagi, Kurona and Yukimura than with others
usually very nice and sweet to strangers and new friends, as we can see with his first meeting with Isagi and Nanase, obviously on the soccer field he’s more aggressive, but now that he has found his true purpose and he has gotten comfortable with his friend group, he lets himself much more loose
we’ve already seen that in the manga but he loves talking in gaming terms because our boy is a certified  g a m e r
Tumblr media
Kurona:
falls asleep like a statue with his face to the ceiling, but after falling asleep he will move around a LOT, even accidentally waking himself up sometimes lmao (already mentioned that)
there was one time where he woke everyone up by pushing a lamp down the table, that’s how everyone ended up knowing
no confirmed family, but I like to imagine he has sisters that used to play with his hair (and he also likes to play with his hair since he was small). So they would always end up making braids into it, and he picked up that habit as well
he’s a simple soul but cares a great deal about his friends, and can pick up on small social cues, not as well as Hiori who does it with his analytical mind, but Kurona does it by intuition and it works really well sometimes (sometimes not so)
every joke that comes from his mouth is also a genuine question
in another universe, he would be my cute little pet shark, accompanying me on my daily morning seafish massacres
Yukimura:
Tumblr media
Kaiser:
mentally unstable, sometimes has suicidal thoughts, but strongly suppresses them
takes different medication to function, from mood stabilizers to sleeping pills
if he doesn’t take sleeping pills, he can’t fall asleep as he will just keep repeating his ptsd flashbacks in his head
he doesn’t really like sleeping on the soft mattress that he gets in hotels or initially in the Blue Lock facility, will sometimes end up sleeping on the floor, but he complained about it to Ego and he made him a custom mattress
very tech-inept (usually that’s a fun character quirk, in this case not so much…)
can use basic features of a phone, knows what social media is but barely uses it outside of interviews
likes to read after he learned reading (confirmed canon)
he sometimes thinks about his mom… once in a year maybe. But when he does, he’ll think about her a lot. Every possible scenario. Every what-if. Until he represses all his thoughts for another year
his eyeliner is not just for show. it partly is, but it’s also yet another thing to set himself apart from his dad
he has terrible handwriting, but he has perfected his autograph to a T and it looks so elegant and beautiful you wouldn’t even fathom that his usual writing looks like doctors’ notes
his parents met at the Berlinale
Tumblr media
Isagi:
he really wasn’t trying to hide his injuries very much because when it comes to things outside his expertise, which is soccer and keeping his schedule, he tends to be a bit klutzy
yes, he has metavision and it helps him outside of the soccer field as well, but that’s more for short-term unexpected scenarios
spoiler
Also I was recently looking at Isagi’s profile again and his strengths/weaknesses are very relatable lmao
Strengths: Finding the good in others.
Weakness: Looking too much at other’s expressions.
Tell me that's not a good boy who truly cares about others??? (and then on the soccer field he won't give a f* lmao)
Tumblr media
Noa:
he’s French, but his personality is so stereotypically German omg, according to his wiki he’s been like that since small but I like to imagine that he picked up some habits from his German colleagues
this is fun because now I can imagine all the German stereotypes on him lmao
he doesn’t like being late and he hates it when others are late
he has no sense of humour
he wears socks under sandals
at the beach he reserves seats by putting a towel on them (it’s not part of the rules, but at the beach there are no rules)
he doesn’t necessarily like Japanese polite nature, but he acknowledges its strengths (which is why he was even more surprised when he met Ego with his very untypical crude nature)
more on the way!
