The first aid competition, I've been studying for the last couple of weeks, is on this weekend, so I started to pack my suitcase today. We'll leave tomorrow afternoon and arrive sometime in the evening. The theory part will be on Saturday (wish me luck). The competition is in Leipzig (pretty cool city) and I'm looking forward to the weekend because at the same time I can have fun with my friends from our team. I hope all the studying will pay off!

Despite Russia's efforts, the Ukrainian language will never die. It now lives beyond Russia's control. I have yet to learn the grammar, but I hope every word I learn helps to spit in the faces of those that work to exterminate it.

Honestly, Duolingo may not be good for learning languages fluently but it's definitely a good start

Introduction post (update on april 2025)
Welcome to my langblr / studyblr blog!
I'm 22 years old and I'm French. I'm learning English (since Elementary school, I understand it quite well, but I struggle to speak it and write it), Esperanto (since 2019 on and off, I know the basics), Ukrainian (since early 2022, I'm a beginner) and Korean (since 2022, I only know a bit of Hangul). I also studied Latin for 6 years at school, but I don't remember much. In the future, there are some other languages I would like to learn such as Thai, Russian and Spanish.
I got a bachelor's degree in Lettres modernes, in 2023 (which can be compared to an English Literature degree I guess, but in French), I studied French literature from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, and the French language as well.
I would like to become a librarian.
Corrections are welcome ! Also, I'll be very glad to help people that are learning French when I've got some time to do so. I'm shy but I would like it to have a language buddy as well, so we can help each other.

hello little life update. I have started learning ukrainian (well trying to learn it). I’ve been practicing the alphabet every day and I just printed off writing sheets so I’m able to start tracing the letters in hopes to write it. don’t really know much yet but it’s so far very fun. hope able to learn more and get more pronunciation of the letters down soon. I also have tons of miscellaneous apps download to help, even if it’s just a tiny bit. Planning on saving money so I can get an actual teacher. Super excited hopefully I can update with good news about this.

Ukrainian adjective endings.
ий, іи – masculine а, я – feminine е, є – neuter
i.e.
це синє вікно (neu.) вона дружня жінка (fem.) він хороший тато (masc.)
Note that in the accusative (and the rest of the cases), adjectives should match the form of the noun.
вона п'є чорну каву (fem. acc.) я купую біле молоко (neut. acc.) я бачу старого тата (masc. acc.)

While my strong, vocal support for Ukraine remains unchanged and I believe it is unambiguously morally correct, I will say that there is something of a bitter pill embedded in it for me as a Jew who is very close to another Jew whose whole family had to flee Ukraine with her as a child because a combination of having the wrong surnames and being Jews meant they could not safely and successfully stay there. And like. She was born there. She still identifies as Ukrainian and has been devastated the last three years over the suffering of her people. She has been a vocal opponent of Putin and of Russian imperialism.
And at the same time, the reason she's here in the US and isn't fluent in Ukrainian is because she was too Jewish to be a "real" Ukrainian (despite the Soviets having forced her family to give up their Jewish religious practices and her having to learn everything as an adult.)

Say whatever you want about Dylan's Russian being rusty but WOE.BEGONE is like one of the only podcasts out there that has slavic characters that aren't the big bad villain.
