Guys it’s officially 10 years since I first started watching doctor who. Bc it was the 50th anniversary and I’d never seen a full episode so I decided to watch all of it from the beginning lol. Not to sound grand or melodramatic or anything but it’s a v cool moment for me bc ever since then, 90% of my special interests have been retro tv shows that I almost certainly wouldn’t have thought of watching if I hadn’t started watching doctor who. So. Like at the risk of sounding ridiculous it was a bit of a turning point for me fjsjdjsj and it’s 10 years to the day!!!

Before the job at Grout's mansion, Evie was kind of semi-adopted by Nines, who taught her what she needed to know. He taught her to fight and how to use weapons and how the power dynamics worked in the city so that she could navigate LA with way less trouble and see through Lacroix's power flexes more easily. He also took her for rides on the motorcycle and arranged for different places she could camp out each night, making her survival way more feasible.

He saw a lot of himself in Evie and put in all the effort that he could afford without ignoring the political situation. On the nights where he was just too busy to make time, he'd make sure that one of the others would keep an eye on her and teach her something. Weird how often this fandom uses teacher Steve (especially like, kindergarten teacher Steve when tbh I think he'd be better as a middle school teacher) in place of him having children when???
