Sunlit Tattoos
TickleTober 2022, Day 2: Drawn On
----
Fandom: IT movies
Ship(s): Benverly (pre-relationship)
Characters (lee/ler): Lee!Bev/Ler!Ben
Word Count: 649 words
Summary: Bev is already planning out some tattoos for when she grows up. She asks Ben for some help.
[ao3 link]
------------
It was rare that it was just the two of them. Usually it was hard to get away. There were only so many places the Losers felt safe enough to hide, odds were that you’d find at least one other person there.
But somehow, not today.
Because today it was just Ben and Bev, reclining in the late summer sun, the familiar stink of the quarry clogging up their noses. Ben leaned back against a tree, watching Bev as she doodled on one of her wrists, dappled in the sunlight that breached through the foliage above. She stuck her tongue out when she was concentrating. It was cute.
“What do you think?” Bev asked some time later, thrusting her wrist out in Ben’s direction from where she laid on the ground.
He took the offered appendage gingerly, helping hold it up so her arm wouldn’t get tired. He twisted his head to look at her finished product: a wolf on a little howling up at a full moon, sketched out all small to fit on her wrist the way she wanted.
“That’s really good!” He said, shooting her a grin that he hoped was more genuine than nervous. “I really like it.”
Bev smiled at him and took her wrist back holding it above her head to examine her handiwork. “It is pretty good, isn’t it? I think I’ll get it tattooed when I’m old enough.”
Then, she shot him a more sly grin. Pulling herself up into a sitting position, Bev shuffled back until she was leaned up against the tree with Ben, the two of them pressed together from shoulder to hip. She thrust her pen into his hand and held her clean wrist out to him.
“Your turn,” she said.
“What?”
She rolled her eyes with a smile, pushing her unmarked wrist into his other hand. “Draw me a tattoo, New Kid. Come on.”
“O-oh. I dunno, Bev. I mean, isn’t Bill really the other artist here?”
She nudged his shoulder. “Come on, Ben. You wanna be an architect, don’t you? Maybe I’m looking for something a bit more geometric for this next one.”
Ben worried at his lip. “Are you sure?”
“Positive, dummy.”
He took a few moments to think, and then Ben brought the pen down on her skin as delicately as he could, starting to sketch out a shape. Bev hummed as he worked, and slowly, her fingers started to curl up into a loose fist. Then, at a particularly light stroke, Bev gasped and jerked her wrist in his grasp. Ben immediately let go, pulling the pen away as fast as possible.
“Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”
“I’m fine, Ben.” Bev huffed, shaking her head with a small smile. “It just tickled a little, that’s all.”
“Oh. Sorry.” He scratched the back of his head. “I can stop, if you want?”
Bev laughed. “How am I supposed to get the tattoo if you don’t finish it?”
“Are- are you sure?”
Bev offered up her wrist once more, an easy smile on her face. As he reached for it, she pulled it back for a moment.
“Just… not a word to the others, alright?”
Ben smiled, drawing an X over his heart with a fingertip. Bev’s smile grew into a grin as she gave him her wrist, and that grin lasted all throughout the rest of his sketching.
In fact, he was even lucky enough to catch a few giggles when he was drawing in the right places, Bev squirming next to him while trying to keep her arm still. Ben made sure to work extra slowly in those spots. You know, so he wouldn’t mess up. It had nothing to do with wanting to hear her laugh as much as possible.
Ben would draw her a thousand tattoos if it meant he got to hear it just a little longer.

“The Crow” (1994)
-a fascinating alternate universe is glimpsed here; when super hero films can be moody, visually adventurous, and have memorable villains
-of course this is all because Batman (1989) by Tim Burton was a fucking smash, but in the end this film is just wonderful and alive
-Alex Proyas has a deft hand as a director. His pacing is at times a little jumbled, but he really creates a dilapidated, lived in universe, and his blocking is superb
-Brandon Lee gives a performance where his whole body contorts to make a person aching to set things right then die
-I have a soft spot for actor Michael Wincott, and his presence as villain Top Dollar is a hoot every second he is on screen
-also, this clearly was a big influence on Cowboy Bebop. Its villain, Vicious, is essentially Wincott with the crow. Absolutely lovely
+and of course the church scene blow out, which is a mesmerizing set piece (again clearly indebted to Batman 89 but it makes it its own)
-the music in this film is well chosen and emotionally moving. This is capitol g Goth. The Cure, Stone Temple Pilots and an thundering cover of Joy Division’s Dead Souls by Nine Inch Nails
-there is a certain vibe to the first half of the 1990s in the United States, and this film captures it perfectly. Downer joyfulness
-the scenario and dialogue, credited to David J schlow & John Shirley, is tender while still moving forward with energy
+I like the random quiet moments of vulnerable whispers, such as “Mother is the name of God on a child’s lips”
-Ernie Hudson has a really laid back presence in this film, he supplies stubborn warmth that lets a lot of the film breathe. His airing of the character makes the film a richer experience
-I love the touch of the hero making the villain feel all the pain of his victim, the 36 houses in intensive care. It’s such a refreshing variation instead of just punching or dropping the bad guy down building
-something wonderful got caught here, it pulls out another world I look forward to revisiting

1-5!!! (kittyandco)
AH UM. That last question x.x;;;; Kitty... I will be answering forrrr Lee!! Lee needs more love
1) what does your f/o’s youtube recommendations look like?
I think it's lots of ranch/rodeo stuff. Or horse care. Lee doesn't often use YouTube. I think specifically he likes Post 10's videos. It's one of the few channels he's subscribed too. (He needed to ask how too)
2) if your f/o has any social media accounts, what’s their icon?
Again, Lee is... he's not old school but he's NOY tech savy. Anything public has his face. Or a photo of something else he found pretty. If he took it, it's slightly blurry usually
3) what’s in your f/o’s bookcase/e-reader/etc.? does your f/o even like to read?
Ummmm!! God I don't know actually? He's totally got a favorite book. I just don't know what...
4) what’s in your f/o’s camera roll?
LOTSA photos of me, and me and him! Lee loves taking photos of me because I'm his favorite human. He thinks I'm the handsomest thing around so of course he takes a bunch. He also takes photos of nature, shaky photos of dogs for me, things like that!
5) how quickly was your f/o ready to call you their s/o or spouse?
UM. WELL. OKAY. SOOO. Uh. >.> <.<
Lepos was. Very very ready to a. call me his boyfriend but also b. call me his husband. I. Think sometimes he refers to me as that without hearing himself because I'm that speical to him! Nothing's happened yet but... maybe one day

Stars and Strips
GYPSY Crescent Theatre, Birmingham, Sunday 12th May 2024 They’re an ambitious lot at the Crescent.  I’ll say that in their favour from the off.  Now they’re tackling this mammoth of a musical, which brings its own challenges: the many locations, the large cast of characters, and the musical numbers. Ostensibly the origin story of burlesque star, Gypsy Rose Lee, it’s really the story of her…

Losers Club Tickle Head canons + Pennywise?
I'm gonna skip over Pennywise cuz I don't really vibe with putting the demon alien clown in my tickle fluff dkjfjkdfhd (no shade to you!! just not my vibe) but definitely yeah on the Losers!!
I don't wanna take over everyone's dashboards though, and there's 7 of them, so the headcanons are under the cut!!
(also i was a little brief with all of them just because there were so many and i didn't want it to be a super long post lol)
Bill
Ler
Look. He is an older brother. he absolutely is a tickle monster
he's always careful to stop when people aren't having fun anymore though
he winds up giving more than receiving because he just. has too much skill, the other Losers know that if they tickle him there Will be retaliation lol
Lee
He seems like he'd be really squirmy idk lol
he is absolutely most ticklish under his arms in my opinion
he does not have a very high tolerance for tickling lol, he doesn't get tickled enough for it
Stan
Ler
I feel like he ALSO would be on the giving end more than the receiving end
he is very deadpan about it. a lot of the others will tease or joke around while tickling someone, but he just seems so unimpressed the whole time lol
i feel like he's one of the only people who's managed to tickle Bill and get away from it unscathed lol
Lee
Stan is a giggler and you cannot convince me otherwise -- his face just gets all scrunchy and his laugh all high pitched and cute
ribs and sides on my boy, ribs and sides
he's so deadpan and serious a lot of the time, the others definitely tickle him (when they know he'd be okay with it) to get him to smile
Richie
Ler
He will Not shut up -- teasing, commentary, just general mouthing off, he will not stop talking, and he will talk louder to be heard over your laughter if he thinks you can't hear him lol
half the time he tickles someone is cuz he actually feels like tickling someone, the other half of the time is just provocation
he is constantly bouncing around someone's spots unless he is trying deliberately to target somewhere, he just Cannot Stay Still lol
Lee
He is very squeaky/snorty
feet and hips 100%
he isn't just a squirmer, he's a flailer. Watch out if you are tickling his feet. He knocked one of Eddie's teeth crooked once lol
Eddie
Ler
Eddie baby :( you are just so small it is so hard for you to get the upper hand here -- but small also means fast and that is his advantage
Where Richie jumps around, Eddie seems like he'd definitely focus in on one spot until he got stopped or got what he wanted out of it
he talks too, but he talks so fast that half the time his lee can't keep up with what he's saying with all his commentary lol
Lee
He is absolutely one of the Losers picked on more often in this sense lol
Knees knees knees, all those shorts of his will the be the death of him
Screams and kicks and fights back, even though he's having fun and doesn't necessarily want it to stop lol
Bev
Ler
Tied with Bill for biggest tickle monster of the group for SURE
she doesn't even need to tickle you to know where you're most ticklish, she just needs to look at you and she knows lol
The only person who can tickle her unscathed is Ben, and even he can't get away with it 90% of the time
Lee
Ribs and Neck!!!
her laugh is absolutely adorable but if you comment on it you better run because she is coming for you lol
it usually takes multiple people to take her down (unless you're ben, and even he can't most of the time lol)
Ben
Ler
poor boy is 2nd most got after Eddie so he doesn't have his time to shine often, but he's very sweet when he does
all light tickles and occasional soft teasing, also lots of compliments, he is very sweet
when he is older and he's all big and buff you'd think he'd use his newfound strength to fight back or pin the others -- he doesn't, he's too much of a sweetheart to even consider that
Lee
Sides and stomach! When they're older and he and Bev get together she absolutely like traces her nails along the lines of his abs to drive him crazy
He doesn't squirm around much, he curls up though and tries to block off his spots
he laughs really easy, you just wiggle your fingers at him and he's already gone
Mike
Ler
He's definitely the type to tussle/wrestle/tickle fight, but in a very careful and gentle way
he's pretty tentative at first cuz he was homeschooled and ostracized so he didn't really have friends before, but he gains confidence pretty fast
he will absolutely help pin Bill down so that the others can get revenge (within reason lol)
Lee
He and Bill are ticklish armpits buddies!
he is the wet noodle type, he goes limp as he laughs (which is at odds with his tickle fight tendencies lol)
sweetest giggles, hearties belly laughs, full-bodied laughter all around

“Steel”
Corny, lovable yarn about a band of ragtag outlaw steel workers going on one last gasp of glory.
George Kennedy doesn’t have much screen time, but I enjoyed every bit of it, especially when he murmurs “I gotta admit, tall buildings still give me a hard on”.
Art Carney, man is it weird to see him be beaten up, and then later throw barrels like donkey Kong.
Even more surprising, how truly invested I was as a steel worker lost his best friend, his brother from another mother. An emotionally devastating moment.
This film came out in 1979, but crystallizes the glue horse formula all team sports films would follow in the 1990s.
Right down to the ending which is obvious in two minutes but goes on for 20.
I rather enjoyed the dynamite that breaks the first thirty minutes, and the line about the gal who says if she was the real catch they “would be more than just five minutes late”.

Top 5 Emily Axfords characters?
i mean let's be realistic and ask ourselves when has she ever missed. the answer is never. but to narrow down....
Moonshine Cybin. (I mean come on. She's beautiful and strong and will kill you but only if she thinks you deserve it. She'll save your life if you let her. And even if you won't. If I dwell too long on her saving Deadeye or trying to save Marabelle or redeeming Pendergreens I'll lose my shit. And that doesn't even touch on how she helps Hardwon and Bev.)
Fia Boginya. (She's a haunted introvert whose best friend is a book and who is in love with her girlhood friend. She'd do anything for her friends who she made a fairy promise to. She's running to the ocean. She waited 8 years for her mentor because she knew she'd come back. She will save someone on the scales without knowing what they did to return the favor done to her.)
Calliope Petrichor. (While we've had her longer than Fia, which feels insane, her story not being complete makes her rank slightly lower. She screwed over her sister to save a serpent. She is on a quest for the Beastlands so her world isn't taken apart. She's taking down Mothership, and she was ready to kill a god to save Calder. She helped Hardwon get his groove back, and she's so fucking crazy. I love her.)
Sofie (Bicicleta) Lee. (There's something about how Sof was willing to die at the end of TUC1 to be with Dale. There's something else about how she worked so hard to bring him back. She wingmaned Ricky and Esther so hard for two seasons. Her best friend was a rat. She got sober. She's incredible.)
Brimstone Billie. (She's a blacksmith. She's embedded so she can't get bedded and is therefore incredibly horny. She immediately starts negotiating a threesome during a fight when she's reunited with two of her best friends. She uses a spell so that the evil ruler of her home can't turn invisible and run away, completely whomping him. She fucks a piss drinker through a bag.)
ask me my top 5 anything

Stray Kids in IT
Georgie - Yang Jeongin
He is baby and unfortunately that means he is dying first. Pour one out for the babiest bread.
Bill - Bang Chan
No one is surprised. He’s the leader, and his guilt (despite it not being his fault) for I.N dying drives him. Idk if anyone else has read the book recently but literally all the characters talk about how they’d die for Bill but don’t always agree with him/understand his motivation. That is So Chan-core.
Richie - Lee Minho
If anyone is gonna be Trash Mouth Richie Tozier it’s gonna be Lee Minho. Homosexual feelings for one of his friends? Check. Propensity for violence and outrage, but is actually a softie? Check. We stan.
Eddie - Han Jisung
Hypocondriac softie. He’s not convinced he should be there or if his friends really love him, but is so deeeeeply loved by everyone and especially Lino. The bravery comes out in the moments where it’s needed, and his sacrifice is always remembered. Pour another one out for Hanji.
Bev - Lee Felix
Have you seen how SKZ fawn over Felix? Like you can not tell me I’m wrong. Everyone treats them like they’re weak, but they’re actually the strongest of the bunch. Unintentionally keep everyone together and moving forward, always agreeswith Chan/Bill and helps everyone see the importance of the Losers Club.
Stanley - Hwang Hyunjin
Very methodical, particular, and mature, but also the most skeptical and fearful. In the book, he is supposed to have a strange sense of humor, and that feels sooooo Hyunjin to me. Also rip to Hyunjin: the reappearance of IT causes him so much strife he can’t go back to Derry. Also, if we’re going off movie Stanley sacrifices himself to make sure the others can succeed bc he knows his fear would get in the way of the others killing IT. We love a self aware king even tho hes dead
Ben - Seo Changbin
Okay I debated putting this but he just, fits for Ben’s arc. Super smart, sensitive and shy, but turns into a rich hot dude who gets the girl in the end and remains unwaveringly kind and gentle? Yes please.
Mike - Kim Seungmin
Listen, this might be a hot take but imo Seungmin is the only one in skz who I think would be a) responsible enough to stay in Derry to make sure someone’s ready when Pennywise comes back and b) unhinged enough to drug his friends to try to get them to stay in town and kill a demon clown.
Pennywise - JYP sorry not sorry
Thrives off fear and making others feel smaller and more insignificant as him?? Feasts on the souls of innocent children?? Corporate wants you to tell the difference between the two. You can’t.

an incomplete list of texts i sent as i slowly lost my mind over the second book of rivers of london, because i fully intend to drag at least one more person into this pit with me. come read with me i promise you're gonna feel so good and normal over this book, come closer
wow okay peter remains the absolute horniest bastard ever. is he a tits or an ass man? yes
oh we are just getting the surface levels hints of nightingales MOUNTAIN of unresolved PTSD and i am very 🥺
you ever feel like a character was written specifically to appeal to you? i'm getting so many tantalizing hints and i KNOW he's going to destroy because he's catnip. he is bait specifically designed to hurt my feelings
also his description makes me think of lee pace or like, 90s/00s paul mcgann and that's just Very Good and i'm being deeply not normal about it
also nightingale reads as SO queer to me, and the potential in fic to explore what that means insofar as how he has navigated the changing landscape of queerness from 1900 to present day is so tantalizing. i don't care that the author says he's not, in this case the author is wrong lol
i must say, i do not care for simone. if we absolutely MUST have hetersexual nonsense in this book i would like beverly back please. she was cool and not a cheating homewrecking jazz groupie lol
still not impressed with simone. i mean, far be it from me to judge a woman's grieving process and all, but she doesn't seem very broken up over her within-the-week dead lover. i mean, i LOVE peter and all and he's hot shit, but immediately falling into bed with him? sus
in conclusion bring 👏 bev 👏 back 👏
also peter, buddy, WHAT ARE YOU DOING
he's a disaster so even though i'm screaming DON'T DO THAT i am unsurprised he is being led around by his dick by a beautiful woman throwing herself at him
but i just. i Don't Trust Her. she doesn't make sense, and i can't tell if this is a case of male author writing wish fulfillment and thus not giving the hot girl adequate motivation of her own
or whether i AM supposed to find it suspicious the way she basically doesn't mourn the man she homewrecked who died very suddenly and then IMMEDIATELY jumps into bed with the magic cop investigating his very probable murder
and i REALIZE the only way to find out is to keep reading, it's just frustrating that women are written poorly so often that, even if he's written good women before, i still have to debate with this is a subtle clue or just Male Author Syndrome
oh my god he finally twigs that this may be weird behavior. peter. bud.
at least he got it before trying to sneak her past folly wards?
side note: god lesley really got the short end of the stick. like, her face fell off, her teeth are a fucking mess, and she probably has brain damage. she got royally shafted
peter "i'm totally straight" grant, talking about how he wants to take a muscly guy by the shoulders and kiss his cheeks and making sure to mention how many phone numbers her got while canvasing the gay bar.
hmm sure, jan
look i KNOW peter is Incredibly Horny All The Time when near any attractive woman, but simone appears from NOWHERE half dressed while he's canvassing for the jazz vampire and he just skives off like that? while looking for a potential killer? that doesn't seem like him he's not that irresponsible. that smells like conspiracy and glamour and i don't trust herrrrrrr
like, peter was already horny wanting to motorboat mama thames (lol don't think i didn't catch that pun) last book. but this book has been a whole new level of horny, and peter may be distractible but not THAT distractible surely
another side note. i love molly and nightingale's weird friendship they've developed living basically with just each other for decades.
oh jesus that's fucked up
oh the severed head is talking
oh. oh no. it got worse
peter, darling, beloved, is now REALLY the time to be talking about how hot your boss is? like i appreciate your dedication to the thirst but time and place, bud
oh never mind i forgive you nightingale is so fucking cool, i get it, i love him
he's so good. the most tragic backstory and perfect stiff upper lip old fashioned english gentleman on the outside, and then just below the surface he's a daredevil and a bit of a bitch and he fucking CARES just SO MUCH and have i mentioned how much the casterbrook wall HURTS ME?? this was revealed in the last book but i just remembered it and it stabbed me again
okay i'm done
i feel like peter has miscalculated making a deal with his cousin to teach her if she aces latin. that's gonna come back to bite lol hope you like teaching too smart for their own good teenagers cuz that's gonna be your life now
"but sir, what do we do if you die??!" "well, that doesn't seem like it will be my problem at that point :)" he's such a bitch sometimes and i LOVE him, mother
ohhhhh. oh no. the pale lady looked like molly and now molly is obviously not okay after she died, that resemblance wasn't just coincidence she definitely knew her 😢
and this is the first person peter has killed, no matter how accidentally. and nightingale is back in the hospital with his chest infection. wow everyone is just having a terrible time right now
okay. i realize that as a memory for him this probably isn't a GOOD one, it's from the war and probably much scarier and MUCH more traumatizing than he makes it sound with his dry narration of it. but god. nightingale knocked out two TANKS. by himself. with his mind. fucking sexy lol
oh damn it why can't they just let me be horny about how powerful he is instead of immediately following it with the fact that he was rear guard and making emotional that it means he was the one trusted to watch over and protect the rest of his men while they retreated as that one final shield between them and enemy fire
hhhhhhhholy shit what did simone DO to mama grant???!!!!
she just bitch slapped her!
OH MY GOD SHE TRIED TO HOMEWRECK HIS PARENTS TOO???
she's PLAUSIBLY IMMORTAL???
fuck i was right she was sketchy as hell!!
she's a fucking jazz vampire and she's been glamouring and sucking him dry! buddy, get to dr walid STAT for a brain scan and make sure she's not turning you into cauliflower!
peter don't you make excuses for her you KNOW it's possible, stop lying about your mum and trying to make her feel better you need to take her in she's a m u r d e r e r
i mean, glamour yes i realize but god, frustrating
good lad peter, i see you fighting it 💪🏾
ohhhhhhhh. oh fuck. she didn't KNOW. she didn't know she was from the 40s and killing people. oh this is bad
nightingale, attempting to show concern: "that was not the most intelligent thing you've done" xD 10/10 nailed it buddy
umm, nightingale? this may not be the black and white moral situation you think it is to go in guns blazing...
it's both funny and little sad how militant both molly and dr walid are when nightingale is injured like. i do LOVE when the person who is SUPPOSEDLY in charge gets lovingly bullied, but it hurts because that's also probably the ONLY way to make him take care of himself is if they FORCE him. and peter's not any better, he's gonna need bullying too
i do love when they team up though. molly and nightingale ganging up against peter like. nightingale gets the special treatment and a hot cocoa from molly, but peter gets the dog's leash and smug little "i'm on bedrest :)" or nightingale foisting the rest of his kidney pie on peter while molly is out of the room then grabbing his empty plate back to pretend he ate it all himself when she returns xD
the cases are interesting and all, but i think it's the core characters that are really the standout of the novel and the reason i keep reading even while i'm asking myself things like, but WHY is she killing via vagina dentata instead of literally any other assassination method? i think it's also why simone stood out so much. she HAD no background that we were told (until now) aside from being sexy. which of course i now know was intentional
"this is your brain, which is not only clean and unsullied by thought..." i love dr walid. it probably says something about me that my favorite characters all have to be at least a little bit of a bitch
oh no i'm having feeeeeelings about both nightingale and peter trying to keep the other out of the vampire raid to shield them from the emotional effects of it, just from opposite ends. nightingale doesn't want peter to have the pain of ANOTHER death on his hands, this one purposeful as opposed to the accidental death of the pale lady, so he's trying to just cut him out of it. and then peter ALSO doesn't want NIGHTINGALE to have the weight of more deaths on his soul and wants to protect him from what he sees as the unfortunate necessity of having to off someone who isn't intentionally hurting someone but still may be too dangerous to live. nightingale trying to save peter from his bleeding heart and peter saving nightingale from his practicality overriding his morality 😭 i just love when characters try to take care of each other in mirrored ways
uh...uh oh peter...no i don't think those are the police OR nightingale's paratrooper buddies
okay the audiobook is fucking excellent though, his infomercial voice while extolling the virtues of doc martins is KILLING me
oh this posh wanker. "oh what is feeding on people but another form of exploitation, and we all know there's nothing wrong with exploiting workers, equality is morally bankrupt anyway" god i hate you already you're insufferable
like of COURSE a dining club oxford nose wipe would think that way. he thinks he's sooooo slick and original with his chimeras they're such exciting new COL crimes but it all just boils down the the exact same rich white bullshit mentality
he would hate it if he realized how dull and banal his villainy is once you strip back the shock value of the trappings. just another entitled prick who views people as things, fuck this dude
i'd be tempted to say the faceless man's signare smelling like pork was a dig at david cameron and piggate if i didn't know it was written a few years too early for that lol
peter: oh no nightingale is going to give me SUCH a bollocking nightingale, obviously so relieved he's alive: very much does NOT give him a bollocking and instead tells him how impressive it is that he didn't just immediately die against the faceless man
"for a terrifying moment i thought he was going to huge me, but fortunately we both remembered we were english just in time. still, it was a close call" 🤣🤣🤣
oh ouch peter. just use all his dead friends against him. effective but also, low blow
god he wants so badly for peter to be right, too, that they and HE doesn't have to kill anyone anymore, that how that it's not Just Him ALl Alone they might have the support structure for other options. oh no i want this to work so badly so that hope is validated, but i just know something is gonna go wrong
welp
i didn't like her but i didn't want her fuckin DEAD you know?
and now the ones left standing have to deal with the trauma and the fallout
oh lesley :( they're both trying so hard to be normal about it and they're such good friends 🥺
LESLEY DO MAGIC?
LESLEY JOIN TEAM FOLLY???!!
also don't think you've been sneaky there and that i haven't noticed SOME sort of thematic symmetry of lesley struggling with having lost her face involuntarily from magic, and the faceless man having voluntarily masked himself. involuntary vs voluntary loss of identity. i'm sure there will be more parallels in the next book but like. i see you. i see you setting up face themes with these two
hopefully with lesley regaining her face somehow and thus reclaiming identity while the faceless man is unmasked thus losing the identity he built for himself and revealing the true one he hid. maybe hopefully? i want good things for lesley and bad things for the faceless one.
