Description:
Lemongras is a perennial grass in the family Poaceae grown for its fragrant leaves and stalks which are used as a flavoring. The grass grows in dense clumps and has several stiff stems and slender blade-like leaves which droop towards the tips. The leaves are blue-green in color, turning red in the Fall and emit a strong lemon fragrance when damaged. Lemongrass produces large compound flowers on spikes when grown in the tropics, but rarely flowers when grown in more Northern latitudes. Lemon grass can reach a height of 1.8 m (6 ft) and will grow for several years, typically its economical lifespan is 4 years.

Folklore
Lemongrass has been used as a healing herb in folklore for hundreds of years. This tropical plant is used prolifically in many Asian cuisines.
Historically, lemongrass was often used for its oils. During the 17th century, it was distilled and shipped around the world as part of the perfume industry. At the time, there was very little access to personal hygiene facilities, which meant that anyone who considered themselves of a higher class would anoint themselves with scented oils in an attempt to cover up their own smell. Lemongrass was one of the most popular scents though few could afford it due to its high price.
Lemongrass has been a traditional healing herb in its native regions for a long time, the fact that it’s so helpful in reducing fevers has given it the name “fever grass” in some cultures. It’s one of the most popular medicinal plants in Brazil, with many in the Amazon regarding it as a wonderful sedative when taken in tea form.
Lemongrass is a great magickal plant which you can use to promote openness to new ideas or people. It’s great for providing some magickal help if you struggle with communication. Lemongrass is also thought to attract fae.
One of the most famous uses of Lemongrass essential oil is as an effective and natural insect repellent. It is thought that the citronella content of Lemongrass is responsible for its insect repelling abilties. It blocks the scent that attract mosquitoes and other biting insects such as lactic acid and carbon dioxide, making it harder for insects to locate you. Furthermore, research has shown that citronella helps to reduce mosquito landing by 40 percent.

Quotes about Lemongrass
"I landed in 1980 in Bangkok, and I stopped to eat ten times between the airport and the hotel. It was all lemongrass and ginger and chilies." -Jean-Georges Vongerichten

I saw this spell idea on Ginny Metheral’s YouTube channel a long time ago and haven’t tried it yet. I am sick (more than usual, I have the stomach flu) and decided it was time to try this out. However, I didn’t have the exact ingredients so this is changed a bit.
My spell:
A bowl of ice (I used cubed because I didn’t want to wake up the parents)
Lemongrass essential oil (Ginny’s called for rosemary)
Sea salt (it’s the salt I had downstairs because I use it for my diy piercing cleaner)
Advice: do NOT put your energy into this if you are the sick person!
I decided on lemongrass because according to the site* linked below:
“Lemongrass essential oil is traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine to help to lower fevers and calm the nervous system. Traditional Chinese Medicine recommends lemongrass essential oil to ease stomach pains and also to relieve headaches, colds, the flu and rheumatism.”
I’m not rubbing it on me or anything because they say it can be a mild irritant and I don’t wanna deal with another thing right now, but I’ll leave the link below.
Basically I just sprinkled it on and put it next to my bed. I can already feel the difference. I really love water spells.

Can you possibly expand on the type of alchemy/ sex magick? Such as potions or spells that directly help with putting on plot of weight? I’ve always wanted to get more info regarding spells or incantations that help with weight gain. Don’t worry I’m looking for reference for myself and personal use. Anyway I love your blog and thankful for any insight 🖤
Feedee weight gain ritual from a theistic Satanist and herbal alchemist. 200 lbs gained in 15 months
The response on my post regarding weight gain and witchcraft has been incredible! So here’s some information on how I’ve gone about my weight gain rituals in the past. Please be aware that this is not for the uninitiated, results will vary depending on your methods. At the end of the post, I provide names of the demonic divine and herbal correspondences best suited for this working. This is thoroughly intended for you to customise to your liking!
Cross small bones (chicken leg bones will work) and bind them together tightly with the red yarn. This is your doll’s skeleton. Wrap fabric around the outside of your doll, bind with red yarn while retaining the humanoid/cross shape. This does not need to look pretty, but it must roughly resemble a person in crucifixion pose. The bones symbolise your skeletal system, the yarn symbolises your nervous system, and the fabric symbolises skin and fat. Consecrate it with a drop of your blood. Take your chosen herbal mixture and mix with melted lard, pour this over your doll. Wrap and tie more fabric to the midsection of your doll overtop of the lard and herbs to “fatten” it.
Take a piece of paper, write your name and date of birth. Then the amount of weight you intend to gain over what period of time. And the sigil of whoever you’re working under. Burn the paper in a small dish. Add a herbal oil of your choosing to the ashes and dress your candle with the mixture. Dress your candle with saliva and cum. Drip the candle on your doll, then on the areas of your body you want to gain the most weight. This will sting, but it will not hurt nor leave a burn. Close the ritual and remove the wax from yourself. Sleep with the doll beside your bed.
In the coming days, repeat the process of dripping the lard and herbs, wrapping the doll and dripping the wax over you and it until you are satisfied with the doll’s “weight gain”. Leave offerings as curtesy to the demonic force aiding you every time you repeat the cycle. Hard liquor, tobacco/cigars, blood, nice chocolate, etc. Keep the doll in a place hidden from anything or anyone that could interfere. Dispose of it at the crossroads with a good offering when you have gained your desired amount of weight.
Some sex magick ingredients:
* Damiana
* Kava kava
* Radish
* Marshmallow root
* Chilli
* Rose
* Crowfoot
* Dried apple
* Basil
* Tuberose
* Nutmeg
* Blowball
* Ginseng
* Fig seeds
* Blood root
* Holly
* Coriander
* Dill
* Violet
* Jasmine
* Senna
* Cacao
* Endive
* Vanilla
* Peach
* Dried apricot
* Devil’s bone root
* Mint
* Mandrake
* Adam and Eve root
* Orange peel
* Savoury
* Devil’s bit
* Mugwort
* Brown sugar
* Daffodil
* Cherry bark
* Hibiscus
* Garlic
* Maple
* Caraway
* Ylang ylang
* Lemongrass
* Cardamom
* Chestnut
* Clove
* Spikenard
Lust and gluttony demons:
* Asmodeus
* Lilith
* Sytry
* Beelzebub
* Incubi/Succubi
This is obviously not for the uninitiated, if you don’t know how to contact a demon respectfully and you don’t know how to control, manipulate and transmute energy, it has high chance of going horribly wrong. If you insist on doing it regardless, at the very least do your own research.

Ah, lemongrass. Not only is it one of my favorite ingredients for stirring up family recipes that remind me of home, but it is one of my all-time favorite herbs for magic and healing. Underneath my picture of dried lemongrass is a list of its correspondences.

magick ramen
I’m going to share one of my favorite kitchen witch practices . It’s ramen. special ramen.
Like any spell or magickal working, start with your intention. Is this going to be a bowl of abundance ramen? Does it need to be healing, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral? Mood-boosting? Grounding? And what if you want weed infused ramen??
Gather basic ingredients. noodles. A base broth/powder/sauce if you have it, you can use regular ramen sauce packets and add your other ingredients too, the herbs and spices, veggies and mushrooms.
Intentional herbal ingredients
Healing/immune boost:: ginger, turmeric, black pepper, garlic, cayenne/hot peppers/tabasco sauce, astragalus, thyme, any medicinal mushrooms (i love maitake), cumin
Abundance: basil, rosemary, ginger, lemon thyme, lemongrass, oregano, dill, avocado (avocado ramen when it’s perfected is tooo good)
Grounding: any root vegetable such as carrots, Nutritive herbs like Dandelion leaf or root/burdock root, spinach, oregano, basil, parsley, red clover, nettles, raspberry leaf, oatstraw, sesame oil
Mood management: reishi, ashwagandha, lemongrass, lemon balm, basil/holy basil, ginseng
Weed ramen: All you need is a thc infused oil or butter or a dab of concentrate, depending on the potency a little usually goes a long way.
You can also make a non thc herbal butter and oil infusions for the fatty element of the soup. If you’re an egg ramen person don’t forget the egg!
For the salt element you can make an herbal infused salt by simply mixing some salt with an herb or herbs of choice.
Obviously you can apply these intentional ingredients to any meal, ramen is just so easy and versatile and fun to make. If you make your own magic ramen (yes i use magick and magic interchangeably) let me know how the process goes!

Cities: A Modern Witch's Urban Sanctuary Part 4: Urban Magick
Tumblr media
When in the city, it has its own unique options for magick. One such example is using cans that you've found on the street for such purposes as stringing them together and hanging them from your doorknob as a protection charm. There are many uses for cans. Make sure to clean them first, though. You can use scraps from broken tires for baneful magick as well as banishing. If you burn them, I would not recommend doing it indoors. Bottles found lying around, whether they be glass or plastic, have many uses. They can store moon water and other liquids that one might use in their practice. If the glass bottles are broken, you can put them in a spell jar to drive your enemies away. If you see some paper lying around, it can have many uses in your practice. Chicken bones from fried chicken discarded in front of your apartment building? Those can be used in your practice, too! Even those metal bottle caps can be used for luck, money drawing, or prosperity magick. You'd be surprised how ordinary, mundane-looking litter can be used in one's practice. Just make sure that you clean these items before you use them. You can also do things like use chalk to write sigils on your apartment building. If you don't have an altar, you can make one out of a milk crate with some plywood or thick cardboard on top. You might find feathers lying around, and those have many applications.
Many cities have occult shops where you can find a variety of supplies for your practice. However, if you do not have one or cannot go to one, there are other places where you can get supplies. Take grocery stores, for example. The spice section has a wide variety of common herbs that one might use in one's practice. Some herbs can be found in the tea section. You can use loose-leaf or bagged tea. One thing that I've done is get herbs from the tea bags (chamomile, lavender, hibiscus, lemongrass, and safflower, among others). You just have to cut them open to get the herbs. Some herbal tea blends have herbs that you can use for a specific purpose. For example, Bigelow Red Raspberry has ingredients that are good for love spells, including self-love. If you need fresh herbs, common cooking herbs can often be found in the store. Really, a lot of herbs and other items used in one's practice can be found there. Some stores also have incense, candles, notebooks, and pens or markers in a variety of colors. Some stores have those flat marbles, which you can use to make a DIY set of rune stones. If you don't have any spring water available, you can get those gallon jugs of spring water at most grocery stores. If there is a craft section, I'd recommend checking it out. Most grocery stores have a place where you can buy cookies and the like, which can be used as offerings. If you're on a budget and have a local Dollar Tree, you can usually get candles, incense, dried herbs, salt, notebooks, a variety of craft supplies, cookies, dolls to represent the god and goddess, cartons of eggs to make eggshell powder, and many other items that one can use in their practice. Really, if you're creative and open-minded enough and know where to look, you can find a wide variety of things to use in your practice. I would recommend checking out the seasonal items, too.
Back to the matter of herbs and such things. If you don't want to go out to buy herbs, flowers, vegetables, and the like and are patient enough, you can grow your own. Some plants can be grownn on the window sill, or on your balcony if you have one. If there is a communal garden, try to find out if that's also an option to grow your plants. If you grow your plants indoors, I would recommend purchasing a grow light. If you grow your plants indoors, you will probably have to hand-pollenate certain plants yourself. Thankfully, there are a wide variety of videos on YouTube that give instructions on how to hand-pollenate your plants. Some plants come in dwarf or container varieties, which can be useful if you don't have a lot of space. For example, many micro dwarf tomatoes grow to be less than a foot tall. You might have to order some seeds online, though.
In the city, you can cast almost any spell that you can cast elsewhere. You can find almost any ingredient that you need if you're creative and resourceful enough. If you look for it, you'll probably be able to find it in the city. Who knows? You might find something you can use that might surprise you. As they say, sometimes you don't know what you're looking for until you find it.

What types of plants are attributed to Air? Once you read this article, you won't need an almanac to find the Airy herbs in your garden or spice cabinet.
Elemental correspondences are a factor in a lot of herbal magick. The assignment of plants and herbs to Earth, Air, Water, Fire (or a combination of these elements) can be traced back to medieval medicine. In pre-modern times, diseases were thought to be due to an imbalance in the four humours, ruled by the four elements. By ingesting or applying plants related to the proper element, herbal healers could attempt to bring the body into balance.
The practice of medicine has (fortunately) advanced.  But elemental correspondences are still used by those who work with the energy of plants. Earthy, Airy, Fiery or Watery classes of plants all have distinct properties and uses in magick.
It's easy to look up herbal correspondences, of course--but it's far more useful to understand why certain plants fall under the influence of one element or another. In this article (first of a four-part series), we'll look closely at plants that are usually attributed to Air.  (Keep in mind that some plants have two or more elemental correspondences:  Oak, for instance, is said to be both Earthy and Airy.)
Below are some attributes of Air plants. Not all Air plants will have all of these traits, but the more that apply, the more likely the herb belongs to Air.
Corresponds to Mercury, Jupiter, or Uranus.
Plants ruled by one of these three Airy planets will usually be Airy themselves. (Makes sense.)
Lives in the air, or travels by air. (Poplar, Cottonwood, Moss)
Tall, sky-spanning trees have a natural affinity for Air. So do rootless plants. Mosses and bromeliads grow on branches and take their nourishment from the breeze. That's about as Airy as it gets!  Maple, with its helicoptering pods, is another Airy tree. The leaves and flying seeds of any plant are the Airiest part, followed by branches.
Lightweight. (Aspen, Marjoram, Cilantro)
Plants with lightweight wood, branches, or leaves are likely to be attributed to Air. A bundle or sheaf of an Airy plant will tend to be lighter than it looks.
Fresh, clean fragrance. (Lavender, Rosemary, Lemongrass, Anise, Oregano, Peppermint)
Perfumes of Air are bracing, refreshing, herbal and aromatic. (In contrast to the heady florals of Water or woods and musks of Earth). This makes Air herbs a popular ingredient in the magick of cleansing.
Masculinity. (Fennel, Asparagus, Celery, Cattail)
Air is a masculine element. If any part of the plant looks phallic, or thrusts up from the ground in shoots or stalks, pay attention. The ancients certainly noticed and assigned that plant to Air!
Wisdom-bringing plants. (Hazel, Almond, Bay, Borage, Frankincense)
Knowledge and wisdom fall under the sway of the element of Air. Plants that are used to bestow eloquence, prophetic ability, or astral flight are Airy in nature. So are many "lucky" plants (like Clover) and traditional incenses.
Prolific or fast-growing. (Poppy, Caraway, Ivy, Cashew)
Air is the element of swiftness and expansion. Many nut-bearing trees are assigned to Air. Like lusty Jupiter (who is ruled by Air), Air plants tend to spread their seed.
Yellow color.  (Dandelion, Yarrow)
In Western Magick and Wicca, yellow is the color attributed to Air. If an herb has yellow leaves and flowers, that may be enough to tip it into the Air category.
Parasitic or opportunistic plants.  (Mistletoe, Oakmoss, some mushrooms)
Here's one of the less-positive aspects of Air: It doesn't have much identity of its own.  Some Airy plants are able to adapt to their environment and get what they need without sprouting roots. Hydroponic plants have trained us to take care of them, and can easily be moved from place to place--they may be the most advanced Air plants of all.
Hope you found this article helpful!  Read more from articles here.

~~~An in depth guide to the element Air~~~
~~A BOS Entry~~
Air is the spark of inspiration and the beginning of new ideas. It is the first step of progress in a journey. Air rules the intellectual and mental, as well as knowledge and learning. Air represents life in the soul's journey.
Air represents the intellectual aspect of ourselves, and therefore Air magic focuses on mental abilities like visualization, as well as expanding your knowledge by reading lots of books and researching things on your own. Air also has a strong association with divination and prophecy, and is represented by the suit of Swords in the tarot deck. Air works in harmony with the other elements: it moves earth, fuels fire, makes clouds (water), and it is our breath that is essential for life. Air is always moving, never still, and never in solid physical form. Air is versatile, quick, moving quickly from one idea to the next.
Air is considered a Masculine element.
~~~Examples of Air Magick, Spells, and Rituals~~~
Air spells don't have to be complicated, unless you want them to be. Here are some easy ways to cast air spells and harness the energy of the Air element~~
~~burn incense as an offering to gods/guides/guardians, and to manifest your intentions

~~cloud bursting~~moving air with the power of your mind whispering air spells into the wind working with air element fairies and spirits
~~~Air Meditation~~~
Feel the air that you breathe. Your breath goes in and out, deeply and fully. Breathe to the very bottom of your stomach, feeling your body expand as you breathe in and feel yourself relax with each breath out.
When you Begin to feel your body growing lighter and brighter with each breath, breathe in a glowing white light, and see yourself slowly becoming the glowing white light with each breath, little by little.
In your minds eye, see your body dissolving away like smoke in the wind. Leaving only your consciousness and spirit. Feel yourself drawn upwards on currents of Air. You float in the sky, surrounded by the brilliance of the Sun and clouds. With each breath you grow lighter and brighter, until you shine like the sun, filled with radiant golden and silver light.
You are made of Air, you are an idea, a passing thought, a dream of inspiration. You see the limitless possibilities of Air. Feel free to spend some time here exploring this element in this meditation. Go ahead and give yourself permission to spend as much time as possible. Building a connection with each element individually will better help strengthen your workings as well in the future when you decide to work with a certain element in particular.
When you are ready to end the meditation, you can begin to feel yourself growing heavier, as you breathe, slowly return to your physical form once again. Feel your body becoming solid as the earth. Feel the warmth of your fiery spirit. Feel the blood coursing through your veins. When your ready go ahead and open your eyes and feel free to move around once again. You are now balanced with the four elements.
Hope this in~depth guide to the element Air helps you along your path. Feel free to add or change this to better suit you. Yes this is more in~depth than other posts however this is intended to help inspire you to do more studying into the elements.
Thank you for reading,
Blessed be!
#Spell of the day:
DREAM BREAKTHROUGH SPELL
This dream spell is for breaking through a stubborn challenge or moving forward in any area of life where you've been feeling blocked. Do this just before bed.
(If you don't know what the symbol for "dagaz" looks like, please Google first. )
If you have runes, pull the Dagaz rune out of your set. Otherwise, draw it on a stamp sized scrap of cardboard. Hold the rune against your forehead. Relax and bring to mind whatever you'd like to shift in a positive away. Don't try to be positive about it; feel everything you feel about the issue. Also bring to mind the options as you see them, or lack there of.
Then set the intention to direct all the energy of your thoughts and feelings about the situation or challenge into the rune, letting them drain from your body and mind. Place the rune under your pillow.
As soon as you wake up in the morning immediately write down any dreams you remember. The key to your breakthrough will be contained within them.
What plants and herbs are attributed to Air?
Tumblr media
by Michelle Gruben
What types of plants are attributed to Air? Once you read this article, you won't need an almanac to find the Airy herbs in your garden or spice cabinet.
Elemental correspondences are a factor in a lot of herbal magick. The assignment of plants and herbs to Earth, Air, Water, Fire (or a combination of these elements) can be traced back to medieval medicine. In pre-modern times, diseases were thought to be due to an imbalance in the four humours, ruled by the four elements. By ingesting or applying plants related to the proper element, herbal healers could attempt to bring the body into balance.
The practice of medicine has (fortunately) advanced.  But elemental correspondences are still used by those who work with the energy of plants. Earthy, Airy, Fiery or Watery classes of plants all have distinct properties and uses in magick.
It's easy to look up herbal correspondences, of course--but it's far more useful to understand why certain plants fall under the influence of one element or another. In this article (first of a four-part series), we'll look closely at plants that are usually attributed to Air.  (Keep in mind that some plants have two or more elemental correspondences:  Oak, for instance, is said to be both Earthy and Airy.)
Below are some attributes of Air plants. Not all Air plants will have all of these traits, but the more that apply, the more likely the herb belongs to Air.
Corresponds to Mercury, Jupiter, or Uranus.
Plants ruled by one of these three Airy planets will usually be Airy themselves. (Makes sense.)
Lives in the air, or travels by air. (Poplar, Cottonwood, Moss)
Tall, sky-spanning trees have a natural affinity for Air. So do rootless plants. Mosses and bromeliads grow on branches and take their nourishment from the breeze. That's about as Airy as it gets!  Maple, with its helicoptering pods, is another Airy tree. The leaves and flying seeds of any plant are the Airiest part, followed by branches.
Lightweight. (Aspen, Marjoram, Cilantro)
Plants with lightweight wood, branches, or leaves are likely to be attributed to Air. A bundle or sheaf of an Airy plant will tend to be lighter than it looks.
Fresh, clean fragrance. (Lavender, Rosemary, Lemongrass, Anise, Oregano, Peppermint)
Perfumes of Air are bracing, refreshing, herbal and aromatic. (In contrast to the heady florals of Water or woods and musks of Earth). This makes Air herbs a popular ingredient in the magick of cleansing.
Masculinity. (Fennel, Asparagus, Celery, Cattail)
Air is a masculine element. If any part of the plant looks phallic, or thrusts up from the ground in shoots or stalks, pay attention. The ancients certainly noticed and assigned that plant to Air!
Wisdom-bringing plants. (Hazel, Almond, Bay, Borage, Frankincense)
Knowledge and wisdom fall under the sway of the element of Air. Plants that are used to bestow eloquence, prophetic ability, or astral flight are Airy in nature. So are many "lucky" plants (like Clover) and traditional incenses.
Prolific or fast-growing. (Poppy, Caraway, Ivy, Cashew)
Air is the element of swiftness and expansion. Many nut-bearing trees are assigned to Air. Like lusty Jupiter (who is ruled by Air), Air plants tend to spread their seed.
Yellow color.  (Dandelion, Yarrow)
In Western Magick and Wicca, yellow is the color attributed to Air. If an herb has yellow leaves and flowers, that may be enough to tip it into the Air category.
Parasitic or opportunistic plants.  (Mistletoe, Oakmoss, some mushrooms)
Here's one of the less-positive aspects of Air: It doesn't have much identity of its own.  Some Airy plants are able to adapt to their environment and get what they need without sprouting roots. Hydroponic plants have trained us to take care of them, and can easily be moved from place to place--they may be the most advanced Air plants of all.
Witchery: Lemongrass Intuition-Amplifier Wash
This is a follow up to my last post as a suggested spell to go during the mabon season. Hope this is helpful and if you preform it let me know how it goes for you.
Uses:
Use this mixture to wash your altar, magickal tools, and home; it will heighten your intuition and bring protection against negative energies. *Note this is not to be consumed*.
What you need:
3 cups (750 ml) water (preferably rainwater)
1 tablespoon dried lemongrass
3 bay leaves
2 teaspoons dried jasmine
2 teaspoons dried catnip
2 teaspoons dried wormwood
Half a lemon
What to do:
Put all the ingredients in a small saucepan, bring to a boil, the simmer for 5 minutes.
Let the mixture cool and then strain it so that you're left only with the liquid wash. This is now ready for use.
