petition for a sherlock holmes muppets movie. sherlock holmes and watson are the only humans. kermit is lestrade. uncle deadly is moriarty. statler and waldorf are members of the diogenes club. ms piggy is irene adler.
holmes thinks he's on a cocaine-induced fever dream but alas! the case persists. watson is barely holding it together.

I thought The Six Napoleons was a Sherlock Holmes story, not a Scooby-Doo episode...?
Tumblr media
Lestrade has been waiting for Holmes for some time and is increasingly bored.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Holmes arrives, unnoticed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Holmes and Watson retreat into the hall and approach the door again, coughing and shuffling their feet loudly, giving Lestrade time to stand and greet them with dignity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Lestraaaaade!"
Tumblr media
(Tee hee.)
Later,

and

And then the episodes ends with Lestrade, with deep sincerity, telling Holmes, "We're not jealous of you at Scotland Yard. No, sir. We're proud of you."

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A SCOOBY-DOO EPISODE JEREMY.

We all know how Watson always describes Lestrade as short and ferret-like but I am noticing he also often describes him as "dapper" or well-dressed. Sometimes he even takes the time to describe his clothing in detail.
Watson basically writes "inspector Lestrade who is tiny and looks like a ferret but like. A really elegant ferret."

Starting my fanfiction journey has me realizing just how much ACD canon READS LIKE FANFICTION.
Like, what do you MEAN the two main characters are extremely fruity roommates who absolutely adore each other?
What do you MEAN Sherlock Holmes BLUSHES LIKE A LITTLE LADY WHEN WATSON COMPLIMENTS HIM?
What do you MEAN Sherlock Holmes starts out as a misogynist but is humbled by a beautiful talented girlboss outsmarting him???
What do you MEAN Holmes and Watson bicker about each other’s taste in art, and cleanliness, and eating habits?
What do you MEAN a story ends with the escaped victim of an abusive man who kills his exes POURING ACID ON AND DESTROYING SAID MAN’S FACE???
WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHERLOCK HOLMES CROSSDRESSES?
WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT’S WATSON’S GREATEST JOY AND PLEASURE TO SERVE HOLMES?
WHAT DO YOU MEAN WATSON IS ‘HERE TO BE USED’?????
WHAT DO YOU MEAN LESTRADE SAYS HE’S PROUD OF HOLMES AND HOLMES NEARLY CRIES?
WHAT DO YOU MEAN HOLMES AND WATSON FREQUENT THE TURKISH BATHS TOGETHER?
WHAT DO YOU MEAN HOLMES WOULD KILL A MAN FOR WATSON, AND WATSON WOULD GET SHOT TO SEE HOLMES’ LOVE????

The Boscombe Valley Mystery
“I walked down to the station with them, and then wandered through the streets of the little town, finally returning to the hotel, where I lay upon the sofa and tried to interest myself in a yellow-backed novel. The puny plot of the story was so thin, however, when compared to the deep mystery through which we were groping, and I found my attention wander so continually from the fiction to the fact, that I at last flung it across the room and gave myself up entirely to a consideration of the events of the day.”

John: OH MY GOD! YES! LETS GO- THIS IS A WIN! A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION! MRS. HUDSON!!!
Mrs. H: ( from downstairs ) YES, DEAR?
John: SHERLOCK JUST DRANK WATER!!!
Mrs. H: WHAT?! NOT TEA OR-
Sherlock: NO- I- WATER! I DRANK WATER! What is wrong with you lot-
John: Oh my God- I have to tell Greg-
Sherlock: Greg? Who-
John: ( on the phone ) SHHH. Greg. Get over here.
Greg: Is something wrong? Are you and Sherlock ok-
John: I just watched Sherlock finish a bottle of water.
Greg: … You’re pranking me. He’s snickering in the background isn’t he-?
John: Nope. Rally the troops. Have Molly pick up a cake- he loves those-
Sherlock: I’m still here you know-
John: SSHHH Sherlock. The adults are planning a party.
Sherlock: … Because I drank water?
John: Yes.

Sherlock: … Are you trying to psychologically condition me, Doctor Watson?
John: …. Is it working?
Sherlock: … What flavor cake?
John: Chocolate.
Sherlock: Then yes. Throw in some coffee flavored ice cream and I’ll eat a full meal instead of just nibbling at one.
John: DEAL! DEAL- 100% YOU’VE GOT A DEAL!

Currently reading the OG Sherlock Holmes' books, and who was going to tell me that every moderns iterations of that man that make him a somber asshole without heart was not only wrong as a deep reading of the character but also just at face value ????
That man is clapping his hands in excitement, humming songs, bowing to an imaginary crowd, telling himself encouragements under his breath, preening everytimes Watson tells him he is smart, and generally being silly. Hell he compliments Watson, Lestrade and Gregson, and I'm only at A Study in Scarlet ??? Which is the first fucking book ??? Who read that and though that we needed to make him a mysterious bastard without heart ???
Give me more silly little Holmes being both the most accomplishes detective out there and being a weird little gremlins. Please.

Lestrade and Gregson are actual d1 haters in a Study in Scarlet bro cuz when prompted on why he didn't check the front lawn Gregsons like "uhhhh it was HIS job 👉" at Lestrade and when Lestrade finds the writing on the wall he's like "ha YOURE STUPID 🫵" in Gregsons face and when Gregson thinks he locked up the right guy (he didn't) he's like "LMAO Lestrades such a DUMBASS going for the WRONG GUY 🤣 honestly I feel BAD for how DUMB he is" but the MILLISECOND both of them think Sherlock Holmes fucked up a deduction they immediately forget they're supposed to hate each other. INSTANTLY start putting their heads together and giggling and pointing and clapping each other on the back and planning to get drinks about it acting like it's a personal achievement. THEYRE THE ONES WHO INVITED HIM TO HELP ON THE CASE IN THE FIRST PLACE 😭😭 Bringing this dude along JUST to pray on his downfall oml

It's really so sad that even deep inside, pretty much on the brink of death, Sherlock doesn't realise how much Mycroft would cry.
Can you guys fucking imagine tho? If Sherlock really died? His brother would probably blame himself for it, no matter the cause of Sherlock's death. Like I'm so glad they actually planned Reichenbach together cuz man wouldn't have survived those 3 years before Sherlock came back.
Mycroft was literally ready to die for him! He was concerned for him from day 1 and it's just really sad that Sherlock couldn't see it.
