who up seeing their disorder in a fictional character but feel like its not their place to put a name on it

#id have to be waterboarded before i can talk abt how i see a lot of my adhd and personality in mitsumi iwakura let alone post it #idk how to talk abt this without feeling like im talking over or invalidating ppls experiences relating with a character #someone was talking abt how ppl tie laios' autism to special interest and social difficulties but not much else which kinda flattens it #and then went into a respectful in depth analysis of other autistic behaviour that laios exhibits and it wasnt phrased meanly #its fascinating and important to me to hear someone explain a little bit abt traits that they recognized and often go overlooked #because it does help me learn more about it. but i think thats also where hesitancy kicks in when it comes to depicting it accurately #like i have adhd and some of my adhd symptoms overlap with autism (time blindness and pattern seeking behaviour) but that only means #it feels familiar to me even without having autism. on top of that traits arent always cleanly determined as being /caused/ by #a disorder. to understand my environment i compare it to something unrelated but similar to make it more familiar and for the longest time #i thought that was a personality thing and not an information processing thing since i loved playing pretend in my head as a kid #so if you make a character who experiences that hoping to reach people that also experience that and tell them its not weird or #smth youre making up like. thats the goal. ppl who dont get it arent expected to it just means it doesnt cater to them but it helps them #become familiar to it yk? since i dont have autism myself i dont feel confident i can depict it properly or explain it in my own words #but that doesnt mean im trying to dismiss it or try and cut it out completely.. ill just leave the floor open to someone who /can/#a lot of issues around fanon depictions are when smth is baselessly popularized or a characters personality and behavior is flattened #especially to fit them into a trending meme. its harmless and its supposed to be for fun but it gets tricky when you drag things that #need to be carefully explained beforehand or else it gets lost in translation. like that tweet abt 'hyperfixating' on cooking pasta #once it becomes popular language usually the original meaning is left out for the sake of simplifying it for everyone that when it #circles back theres a sort of hesitancy like. am i using it the way it was intended or am i unknowingly using the popularized version of it #actually thats probably why i felt wrongfooted during diagnosis bc it felt like i was misusing the words i heard to describe what i felt #i /know/ i see a lot of myself in mitsumi because our minds are always somewhere else and we tend to put good faith first and for me #that personal connection is enough. but idk it feels like its always gonna have to be 'palatable' first before i can talk abt it openly #mad respect to writers and creators who stick to their story even if theres the looming fear of ppl misinterpreting it and letting them #have it.. its been almost 2 weeks and i am so close to deleting that m3 dunmeshi drawing bc ppl keep saying chilchuck wouldnt have 200 HP #IT LITERALLY SAYS I MADE IT WHILE WATCHING EP 1. people neverrrrr give daisuke enough credit for actually literally being dark's whole ass braincell during a heist. the manga doesn't have enough actual heisting to showcase the fact, but in the drama cds and LNs both it's always always dark who gets into a pinch during his heist and then daisuke who figures something out to get them out of it. heck it's even daisuke who immediately, instinctively starts plotting and figuring out how complex mechanisms and sensors work even while he's trying to GIVE UP THIEVING?? dai can be emotionally dense at times since so much of his self-opinion is fogged and clogged up by his insecurities but if anybody thinks he's useless or god forbid actually totally dumb im whamming them over the head

geno/ovi along the same lines. actually my opinion of ovi is that he's a fascinating character ficwise all around... enigmatic, charismatic,,, i don't understand nicke backstrom which is the biggest reason nickeovi isn't on the first list. but sid/geno/ovi is nightmare threesome material and we should talk about it

I just commented on an insta reel about Taylor’s “dating life” in the past year that also mentioned Karlie and how she was in the “200s” and must have “sat in the Ticketmaster line with us”…I just couldn’t take the misinformation about her seats anymore and wrote that she had a VIP bracelet and was in a VIP section with Sandra oh etc, that she was INVITED. ill be shocked if bg3 doesnt win a goty but i also think likeeeeeee it doesnt really deserve one… like idk it really is the supernatural or general hospital or ncis of video games. the sheer AMOUNT of it is impressive. the dedication to CONTENT. there’s so much game. but most of it is just kinda bland?? i only remember like 3 moments in 400 hours that i was like shaken out of my gamer stupor. also mechanically its just dnd, like i do think they deserve something for implementing computer dnd really well, but the qol changes they made are so minuscule theyre total nerd shit. and we shouldnt give gotys for basically covers lol

tldr; quantity over quality… its not like its bad quantity but its like pleasantly mid. is a lot of pleasantly mid worth the same as a small amount of very good? we’ll find out lol

I love the fact that I can work as hard as I can manage with a broken tooth and a dying tooth (one on each side, I've been chewing on the cavity for a year) and I still cannot save even $10 towards getting dental treatment (2 impacted wisdom teeth, + tooth broken off under the gum, + bad cavity) because I barely make enough to cover my food and board and the insane energy bill

#I'm just ranting don't mind me it's fine I am continuing to exist as usual I may delete this later bc it's a bit of a bummer to read #I prefer to keep my blogging to fun or otherwise nonserious content because it's supposed to be for decompression no real world drama here #I got into a 3 hour body language study and earned $50 so I spent that as fun money on a couple games during the Steam sale just to #take a break from the constant cycle of getting paid and then immediately saying goodbye to all but about 15 cents #(well it was 1 game Slime Rancher 2 and then 2 expansion packs one for Planet Zoo and another for Cities Skylines long play hours mileage)#I've tried to budget to buy small things like a fan or a toothbrush maybe (mine is 8yrs old and doesn't charge sometimes) but NOPE #let alone stashing away over $2000 for the amount of treatment I need given tooth extractions are $200-$500 each #I use about $50 of groceries a week ($30 USD) sometimes up to $80 if I need to buy some extra toiletries or bonuses like ham/falafel/bread #our last quarterly power bill was $1900 FOR NO REASON even for a winter one #olessan oration #the work I have is HIT/mturk type work which pays amazingly well and I am so grateful because I can't work in a traditional environment due #my inability to sleep/wake on anyone else's schedule and need for engaging work but it also means each worker is basically a contract worke #picking their own hours which is VERY HARD to stick to for me since I may also have ADHD-i but that diagnosis also costs like $2000 in Aus #so I'm doing my best fucking lmao #I have a set minimum hours I want to keep up to and move to full time but I am so exhausted by the constant background noise of #the tooth problems that I burn out very quickly #like the tooth ache isn't that bad #the tooth is actively dying but the pain isn't unbearable it just shits me off at all times #it's bearable most of the time and doesn't affect my sleep unless the temp is cold or something #it's been bad this week tho so I've gone through almost all my ibuprofen managing it #the tooth that broke off broke off earlier in the year and the gum has mostly healed over and the dead root is concealed inside my gums now #that stopped being painful in mid 2021 but when it died it was pretty bad it did stop me sleeping for a couple weeks #Christmas 2021 involved me contemplating ripping the tooth out myself lmao #the nerve eventually died seemingly without an abscess #unless I DID have an abscess but that seems extremely unlikely because abscesses are SEVERE AND HORRIBLE AND LIFE THREATENING #sometimes I can feel the tooth ligament wiggling on its own or I like flex it by accident it's so weird bc the tooth is gone so #the ligament is still holding onto the root but with way less weight #anyway I am eating my mac n cheese n veg with the side that has the missing tooth because the cavity tooth has a big bruise along the gumli #gumline which may be from overzealous brushing (I fill the tooth will temporarily filling putty and it needs to be cleaned well when the #putty falls out)

#personal #the engineering chronicles #i am so so scared for it we did a practice final last week that was extremely suspiciously easy so i reached out to someone who took the #final today asking if his had aux views and/or tolerance stack analysis (neither of which were on mine) and he said yes and also that he ran #out of time to finish one of his drawings so. AAAAA #*on my practice final #the thing is i got comparatively great grades on both the assignments for those topics (100% and 90% respectively and the 90% was bc the #professor i went to for help in office hours told me to negate all my values when my original values were actually the correct ones smh) BUT #they were the most time consuming assignments of the semester and also both required hawk-eyed attention to detail that had me redoing and #editing so much to get the correct answers like i won’t have time for that on the final 😭😭 especially if they’re BOTH on it which is likely #the midterm was hell on earth and everyone basically failed it i don’t even want to think abt this…#i have just over an 87% rn so im under no illusions that i will be keeping my b+ let alone moving up to an a-. to end w a b i can get as low #as 74% on the final which is….possible. but im not banking on it.#to end w a b- i can get as low as a 64% which is what im hoping i can achieve wrdjfjf 😭#it’s only a 1 credit class so it’s not like it’s the end of the world or my gpa if i get that or even a c #lvl 100 1 credit engineering classes here are hellish idk why. you’re probably thinking leigh if you are struggling this much at that level #that may be a sign but no bc ive also taken/am taking multi credit and/or lvl 200 engineering classes and they are soo much better. at least #thus far #plus stats and calc are both multi level and above lvl 100 and they’re both fine i have developed a lot of respect for them actually even #a good amount of curiosity and enjoyment. it’s just the lvl 100 1 credit engineering classes what is up w them #*multi credit not multi level lol
