TOUR DIARY!
End of UK and IE.
Yes!!! After this tour there can be no doubt(reunion) The Hives are entering if not a new golden age at least silver or bronze. Cant remember when I last wrote one of these but I think it was in Brighton after the show at The Dome and I was going on about ABBA or god knows what. Since then we went to Cardiff and played The Great Hall which was more of a makeshift stage that it felt like you could fall through but the crowd was great. Spent a couple days in Manchester did a typically Hives awesome show then Storm Kathleen cancelled our Dublin show which was extra bad news since Dublin also got cancelled on the Arctic Monkeys tour. Cant catch a break. Thanks to some management ninja tactics we got a new date and extended the tour and added a show in Sheffield at The Leadmill. We played there once in 2002. Thats eons in rock n roll.
Some fans with extremely limited knowledge of the challenges of tour logistics complained about moving Dublin of course. Man there is no way to make everyone happy all the time. Believe us, we have tried. I think we reach about 99%.
Norwich was beautifully quaint and english. Sometimes that can feel like a balm on the soul after weeks in dressing rooms and sticky venue floors. Norwich, which is an old viking name due to the fact that our people once raided and pillaged these shores. The english then thought to themselves, hang on there is something to this, and proceeded to raid and pillage and enslave some 130 countries which is still the world record. London was handled with panache style and grace by both us and one of the best crowds we have played too. Hammersmith Apollo, sacred Motorhead ground. No one can play rock there without thinking of and bowing down to no sleep til…
On this tour we decided to play really long shows. 90 minutes of The Hives equals 3 hours by a normal rock band just played twice as fast. Crowd loved it. I think?
Now I am sick, exhausted and off to bed.
Til next time my loves,
Onwards,
Upwards,
We have spoken

the boyfriend sigh heard round the world (or maybe just in our ears over and over) in 2x07 was iconic. besides lexi’s writing woes, what other cute mannerisms or antics of lexi’s do you think would cause fez to boyfriend sigh again?

Beekeeper Movie AU
So, Lena is on the run from her mob-connected brother (maybe because she's turned him in to the cops??), and lives in a house all by herself in the middle of nowhere. She starts going through an old shed, for want of something better to do, and runs into a hive of bees. She calls in a professional, who ends up being Kara.
Kara notices that Lena is nervous around the bees (there's something about the buzzing that puts her on edge okay??) and starts rattling off bee facts. She's so passionate about these facts, and the bees themselves, that when Kara mentions that she wants to keep some hives of her own, just doesn't really have a place to keep them since she's basically living out of her truck, that Lena offers both Kara and the bees a place to stay with her.
(No, it's not the safest idea, but when is Lena ever NOT willing to put herself in danger for want of human connection?)
Anyway, Kara takes up residence in the shed, upon her own insistence, but Lena manages to coax her in for mealtimes, and they develop a bond. Kara is softened by Lena's smiles, and Lena is smitten with the rugged outdoorswoman. They're both glad for the company.
But then, one day when Kara is off at the farmers market selling some of her honey, Lex's men find Lena at the house and manage to wrestle her into a van. Lena, for her part, puts up a pretty good fight, and the mess of blood and debris that Kara finds on her return is considerable.
The thing Lex doesn't realize is that Lena's new roommate Kara is, in fact, a retired Beekeeper.
And unfortunately for him, the signs of struggle that Kara finds sends her back into work mode.
With a single call to a former coworker, Kara learns Lena's true identity and her circumstances, which is enough to point her in the right direction. She starts punching and burning her way through Lex's holdings in search of Lena, and Lex does his best to keep Lena out of her reach, thinking that Kara is the feds trying to recover their key witness.
I'm not sure why Lex doesn't just kill Lena. Maybe Lena sabotaged something, and he needs her alive to fix it? Or perhaps some kind of information she has that he needs.... hmm. I'll ponder that later.
In the meantime, it's just chaos and carnage as Kara does her thing. But when it comes down to it, when she faces off against Lex with Lena between them as his human shield, Kara doesn't take the shot. In the end it's Lena, who pulls a Rizzoli and curls herself around the gun Lex points at Kara-- forcing him to shoot himself through her own chest.
Kara manages to save her life-- I like to think maybe the actual cops have been after Kara the whole time trying to stop her rampage, not realizing until the moment they finally catch up that Kara actually had a purpose and that purpose is currently bleeding out in her arms.
When Lena recovers, they both return to the little house in the middle of nowhere, and resuming the keeping of their bees.

hatchetfield head-canons!
-Richie rlly likes amphibians has a frog named Sir Hop-A-Lot and another frog named Marcie
-Whenever Paul loiters in Beanies just to talk to Emma, she give him free refills without saying anything just so he’ll stay longer, and Paul never realizes it until he starts getting the jitters
-Max and Alice know each other thanks to the smoke club, but they don’t talk since Alice lives in Clivesdale and Max would never associate with anyone from Clivesdale
-Before he discovered suspenders, Pete had an era of wearing his belt very tightly and tying the strings of his pants way too tightly
-Sycamore is an all boys school (I don’t know where this one came from but I just enjoy it)
-Paul knows where Hatchetfield high is and the short cut (even though he went to Sycamore) cause he drives Richie to school
-Paul was very similar to Richie in high school (minus the whole anime thing) and even dyed his hair on a few different occasions
-Paul is demiromantic and demisexual
-Ruth has kinda straight hair, but just has never brushed it in her life and likes the potential attention her very curly hair can get her
-garygoldstienattorneyatlaw knew the whole wiggly madness was going to happen and wanted to get some new clients (and wanted to be involved in something)
-garygoldstienattorneyatlaw is also the only attorney in hatchetfield
-Linda and Becky totally had a fling in high school that ended very badly which is why they hate each other now
-at Ruth’s insistence, Richie has helped her put on a one woman show and filmed the whole thing to show others
-Max also has slightly overactive sweat glands, but people don’t make fun of him for it because he’s an athlete so they think it’s just how athletes work. also max would beat them up if he did
-Grace’s bedroom is themed around Noah’s arc, but it also has the corpses of all the dead humans littering the ground
-the “perky’s buds” episode take place in a universe where Emma never met Paul
-the hive can only infect Paul OR Emma/it can’t have both of them at the same time (I get this from how Emma is in the opening number (aka the start of the show which is the end of the show) but how Paul isn’t there and then in inevitable we don’t actually see Paul turn Emma we just see infected Paul)
-Black Friday is a loop and tomorrow never comes
-lex and Ethan are t4t
might post more of these later but just on specific character because yesss I play favorites

Workplace Distraction: (m/f, very short, work place fun) - Who doesn't want to get hypno-triggered like a good little corporate drone?

Started thinking about the implications and now I have a theory: The reason why General John MacNamara is so different in TGWDLM and Black Friday is because of who is telling the story.
We know the narrator for TGWDLM is Pokey. Its a retelling of the events and he is in control of what we see and hear - its why the characters cant hear the instruments but we can. This is also backed by the title number and Emma specifically (but that's a post for another time).
In Black Friday, we don't have confirmation on who the narrator is but tis safe to assume one of two options; either the ensemble (Tom, Becky, Lex, etc) or Webby. In this case, we're leaning towards Webby as there are interactions that would be difficult to see otherwise - ie the presidents office before the start of 'Monsters and Men'.
In regards to MacNamara, we know the Lords have history with him. During 'Made in America', while Wilbur is the one who calls out to him, in the captions its credited to Wiggly. This could be attributed to him being a General for PEIP, but there was a little too much malice in the ost for me to believe that's the case. While we don't see it happen, it's clear that MacNamara has not only impeded the Lords progress, but has actively stopped them - probably on multiple occasions. Additionally, he is a Warrior of Light: he can wield the Blade of Truth and has helped Hannah and Lex (Webby's chosen vessels) on multiple occasions (Orb Weaver isn't out yet but that is the synopsis so that would make the pervious point true on two sperate accounts). And even if he isn't a Warrior of Light, the enemy of my enemy is my friend - he is at the very least and ally of Webby.
Now for how that affects his characterization;
In TGWDLM MacNamara is a bit more aggressive and sporadic, even to a silly extent that can seem a bit much at times. He has wide eyes, he's constantly moving, and goes on tangents. Then, despite his title of General, he is easily defeated and absorbed by the Hive. Why is that? Well, because Pokey is the narrator. I wouldn't push it so far as to say its propaganda against PEIP ("look at how silly this so-called military is. even their general is weak! they couldn't be a threat if they tried"), but it absolutely carries a mocking tone. Pokey wants you to laugh at MacNamara, not take him seriously.
In Black Friday, however, MacNamara carries a very different tone. He's calm, collected, knows exactly how to handle almost every situation. In this one, you could actually believe that he is a General and not just some guy with a gun. This can be attributed to Webby being the narrator. She agrees with his values (note 'the value of the human heart' dialog vs 'The Witch in the Web' and how Webby treats Willabella) and, as stated previously, is allied with him in some way. Webby wants to paint MacNamara in a good light, and have you see him as a hero.

hey guys look at this hatchetfield au i made ages ago and never posted here for some reason i think
behold
THE APOTHALYPSE AU
(apotheosis + apocalypse)
essentially just the question of what were some of the other hf characters doing during the events of tgwdlm!! the au mainly focuses on ethan and hannah having a tlou style adventure but also features some other survivor groups with some familiar characters along the way! (more info below)
CHARACTERS
Tumblr media
above are the 8 main characters of this au (left->right: ziggs, lex, hannah, becky, ethan, tom, steph, grace) throughout the au, alliances form between the different groups. each group is also kind of a different style of zombie apocalypse survivor characters - ethan and hannah are the found family, ziggs, steph and grace are the dumb gay teens, tom and becky are the actually competent ones (and also the first to be wiped out) meanwhile lex is solo run-and-gunning her way through town like a badass. i will drop more lore for each character bc they each have their own story in this au but ill probably do that on different posts to make things easier yknow
GENERAL LORE
so im taking a few... creative liberties when it comes to the actual mechanics of the hive in this au, making it more similar to a traditional zombie apocalypse. for one, even just regular physical contact with the blue shit can cause the infection to very slowly begin spreading. the infection will generally spread a lot slower in this au (unless it was caused by an actual fatal wound like many are in the show), meaning the actual apocalypse will last a lot longer than is implied in the musical (i cant actually remember if they give a specific length of time in the show but ah well)
anyway yeah this is my silly au feel free to use it in any way i will literally give you my first born child if you do

Saw. A post abt wanting hatchetfeild ask?
Fav character to read angst only fics about?(I personally love depressing grace fics)
Yes!!! Thank you 🤩
I personally love to bully Paul so I love a good angst fic about his suffering.
Give me hopeless Paul still aware and trapped inside his own infested mind. Give me defeated Paul so used to minimising his own desires he can’t even comprehend what he wants, let alone articulate it. Give me helpless Paul that has “a touch of the Gift” like Hannah and Lex, but not enough to save anyone. Give me tired Paul who is forever in a cycle of almost, maybe, with the love of his life. Give me brave Paul who lost everyone he cared about in a single DAY and still found the strength to try and stop Pokey/The Hive despite knowing he would probably fail.
I constantly think about how him being no more than a background character in the rest of the lore means that the people he sacrificed himself for in the TGWDLM timeline will never know how heroic he truly could be when it came down to it… 😭😭
(Happy endings are fun and all, but there’s so many opportunities for Paul angst 👀)

saying something about every hatchetfield production
spoilers, some nonsense, zero consistency with what I talk about, hurriedly written text, and back Cinderella’s Castle, QUICKLY, the kickstarter ends on May 4th. Also I mostly won’t be talking about the message to take away from all of them because I plan to make that another post.
TGWDLM: the catalyst of it all, it set up many fan favorite characters. Also my personal interpretation is that the musical we watch is actually happening in canon and is being put on by Pokky/Paul. Also how much of someone’s personality remain after infection?
Black Friday: it does pretty good as our first (true) intro to the LiBs it works very well. We get more General Macnmara who quickly becomes one of my favs. It also adds a lot of my other favs to the Hatchetverse, Hanna, Lex, Ethan, and Tom
NPMD: probably my favorite of the mainline musicals. I really hate Dirty Girl tho. The musical version of Hatchet Town is better than the OST version. The characters all have really good chemistry. I love Grace as a warning about the consequences of using religion as a fear tactic, when she sinned and wasn’t instantly punished for it she decided to take matters into her own hands and became a bloodthirsty maniac. The fact we got so close to a good ending if Max hadn’t fallen is darkly funny.
Hatchetfield Apeman: I don’t know how to feel about this one, it’s an interesting story but I think shouldn’t have been the first nightmare time story as it set a bad precedent for a lot of people.
Watcher World: I FUCKING LOVE WATCHER WORLD. The horror buildup of “what the fuck is happening here?” was genuinely amazing. The idea of a paranormal amusement part made for the amusement of an elder god id so cool. I feel uncomfortable saying the work “Sniglet”
Forever and always: one of my favs, the mystery of the two Emma’s is amazing, and the twist of which Emma Paul chose is amazing. It does make me wonder tho, is Emma a robot in every timeline? Also im just gonna assume that Tinky is connected to this one.
Time Bastered: another of my favs, the way it connects with FaA and the very clever time travel writing were highlights. The Ted is The Homeless Guy twist is really clever, and the ending is tragic
Jane’s a Car: holy shit my opinions on this one is so mixed. I love the bonding of Becky, Tom, and Tim is so wholesome. I REALLY hate that scene. Also is Jane turned into a car in every universe?
The Witch in the Web: our true into too Webby. Massive lore dumbs sort of weighted it down for me but it was still good.
Honey Queen: god I love this one. The fact that the LiBs aren’t mentioned until the very end was a really good choice. Both Zoey and Linda going to any length to win was some great tension.
Perky’s Buds: I went into this one expecting it to be kinda mid, and I was right but it was on the high end of mid. Ziggy being NB and played by a real NB actor is great! The bird hive mind is genuinely kinda unnerving despite how cute they are. I personally think they should have died, then content on the rooftop with the fire would have been such a good ending, but the police showing up to arrest them packs less of a punch.
Abstinence Camp: again, one of my favs, I fucking love this one and it also has the best Nightmare Timr song. It’s a fun way of exploring the “if you have sex in a horror movie you die” trope. Grace once again gets some sort of power and abuses it.
Daddy: I have mixed feelings, it’s a genuinely interesting plot but it get pretty uncomfortable. The song at the start made me think it would be a more empathetic take on Sherman Young but it definitely fucking wasn’t.
Killer Track: what is there to say? Killer track is actually so fucking amazing, if you will watch anything from this list watch this. I’m saying nothing else
Yellow Jacket: not at all what I was expecting, but it was great! From what I heard I was sort of expecting a high school drama with Pokky doing his bullshit in the background, but I loved this too. Also the ending hurt me.
Workin’ Boys: Pokky strikes again, but I’m not sure why TBH. Motherfucker just decided to fuck with his one most loyal subject and for what?

the lords in black,,,,,, theyre five eldritch gods that exist in a black beyond all dimensions called the black and white. theyre all brothers.
the first one in that post was nibbly, aka nibblenephim, the one who feasts in the dark. his color is pink. he is the hungriest god, and he. well he eats people. characters associated with him are roman murray and occansionally linda monroe
then theres tinky, t'noy karaxis, bastard of time and space, weaver of impossibilities. his color is yellow, with bits of orange. he controls time (like time travel) and the different timelines. he has a box that he uses specifically to torture This One Guy and sometimes his brother. characters associated with him are. ted and pete spankoffski.
then theres wiggly, wiggog y'wrath, the lord in black. his color is green. he wants power, control. hes very capitalist. like the show that predominately featured him was all about anti consumerism. he has tentacles. characters associated with him are wilbur cross (uncle wiley), and occansionally linda monroe again.
pokey, pokotho, the singular voice. his color is blue. he fucking hates any voice except his own and loves musicals. hes the main guy behind the first hatchetfield show, the guy who didnt like musicals, where he infected people into a musical hive. characters associated with him are paul matthews (THE guy who didnt like musicals), and the hive in general. sometimes charles coven.
and FINALLYY blinky, bliklotep, the watcher with a thousand eyes. his color is mainly purple with splashes of yellow and orange. hes the most sadistic of the brothers and just likes to watch people suffer. he has his own amusement park in hatchetfield, watcher world, where he can do this (the park alters peoples minds to make them fight and want to kill each other). he also abuses his sniggles, which are basically like this weird little creatures that live in the black and white and work for the lords. characters associated with him are bill and alice woodward.
but also then theres webby, no canon full name yet, the queen in white. her color is. white. she is their sister, and the only one who wants to help humanity. she does this through specifically hannah foster, but also to a lesser degree with lex, hannahs older sister

Role Reversal AU
Basically, the heroes are villains and the villains are heroes or civilians.
There's a lot of information that I packed into this post.
Beings that aren't included in the swap are: Captain Marvel/Shazam/Champion Teth/Black Adam Captain N*zi (because fuck no is any n*zi going to be anything but evil. No Marvel mistakes with this au.) The Seven Deadly Enemies of Man Literally all of the villains trapped on/in the Rock of Eternity Orange Lantern The Blue Lanterns The Indigo Lanterns White and Black Lanterns Demons maybe Constantine? what do you guys think? Darkseid (good darkseid could be interesting tho) Doomsday Hfuhruhurr (aka Word-Bringer; an alien that collects brains from all over the universe to create an immortal hive mind called "The Union") Mongul 5th dimensional beings (they just like annoying people in general) Pariah Dark probably more
Some Heroes: Amity Park - Plasmius, Technus, Skulker, GIW, Maddie & Jack Gotham - Joker, Two-Face, Bane, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Ra's Al Ghul (the LOA is more like a secret watcher's society but more infighting in a friendly way) Metropolis - Lex Luthor, Cyborg Superman, Metallo, Parasite London - Cheetah, Giganta, Circe(part-time) Justice League (leaders) - Talia Al Ghul, Lex, Professor Zoom, Cheetah, Star Sapphire (Carol Ferris), Black Manta, Cyborgirl Justice League (general) - Poison Ivy, Gorilla Grodd, Captain Marvel, Red Lantern(Guy Gardner), etc.
Most villains who don't commit any violent crime are simply civilians in this au. (ex: Catwoman, Box Ghost, or Kite Man) Some villains - like Sivanna - become civilians while their family members become villains.
Some background info:
Danny dies and it pisses him off that his parents don't notice. Sam and Tucker agree and they become menaces to Amity Park. Maddie and Jack notice and decide that someone needs to reign in the troublemakers, which makes things worse. Then, the ghosts start noticing and they start sending a ghost to take care of the rogue ghost. Eventually, they find that Skulker and Technus are best suited to deal with the trio. Wolf and Cujo join the trio. Plasmius joins Skulker and Technus and they start trying to clone Danny to try to create an equal to fight against him. The clones are mostly viable because of the help of Technus and the Fentons. Team Phantom kill the clones except for Dani, who joins them. Jazz, while not evil, isn't good either. She just wants to prevent her brother from killing their parents. Because all the good guys are much less concerned with keeping civilians safe, there are a few casualties, which includes Jazz. Jazz notices that Team Phantom might be right about her parents, so she leaves Amity and eventually teams up with Zatanna. TLDR; Danny's mad at his parents and makes Team Phantom to cause chaos around Amity Park. Jazz leaves after she dies and joins Zatanna.
Zatanna (and her father) were low level thieves that were performing as stage magicians before Nabu's helmet turned Giovanni into Dr Fate. Zatanna became enraged at how he wouldn't give her father back and started murdering and stealing other magic user's powers and tomes in hopes of one day returning her father to her. After she found Jazz, who offered to help remove the helmet, she stopped murdering as many people. The two often help Klarion get in the way of Nabu's plans to get rid of anything he perceives as chaotic. While they happen to befriend Klarion, they never stop stealing.
Bruce becomes Owlman and is in charge of the Court of Owls. Tim, Dick, and Jason become Talons. Alfred is known as the Executioner. Barbara is a jewel thief until she loses the ability to walk thanks to falling off a roof while being chased by Joker. After, she becomes a cyber security threat that constantly steals, releases criminals from jail, and hacks into whatever tech the heroes use. Kate becomes a mob boss. Signal starts out stealing, but accidentally turns into a small time mob boss that works on the opposite side of the city. Commissioner Gordon is a corrupt cop who is firmly in Bruce's pocket. He sometimes fills in for Bruce during CoO meetings when Lucius can't. Cass is an assassin called Orphan that inspires more fear than (canon) Deathstroke. Steph got annoyed by how often her dad (cluemaster) was out of the house and became Spoiler - a villain similar to (canon) Riddler. Selena, while she's a civilian, also happens to be Bruce's street level informant.
Clark, while still having been raised by Martha and John Kent and becoming Superman, decides that being a hero is rather boring. While ruling the world sounds intriguing, he's seen many other villains that are just as competent as he is that want to rule. So he decides that he wants to be a complete (rather dark) nuisance. He ruins buildings by tagging them with his heat vision, freezes major water sources, cloned Lex and himself (technically it's a test tube baby but whatever) once, finds ways to steal everyone's stashes of kryptonite, and sometimes murders people. Kon or Conner lives with Lex part time and has two loving parents, both of which don't understand why he enjoys randomly jumping into their battles and fighting them both (causing as much property damage as possible). Lois helps keep criminal activity out of the papers and clocks Clark as Superman right away. She regularly publishes smear campaigns against the heroes and paints Superman in good light. Kara and her clone - Powergirl - regularly fight against Parasite and Cyborg Superman who constantly thwart their plans to take over the world (they're taking Lex's route).
Green Lanterns are like corrupt cops whose mission is to exert their will over others. Hal kills his dad's previous employer while Sinestro tries to stop him. Sinestro creates the Sinestro Corps and is much more like "our and others' fears fuel us and drive us to be able to save people" rather than "fear is true power and should be used as a way to control people". When Parallax takes over Hal, they become the ultimate hero but over time Parallax starts to become corrupted by his willpower and Specter jumps in to keep Parallax from becoming the ultimate evil. After a while Parallax decides that Sinestro is a much better host and both him and Specter leave Hal, who decides to take a long break doing petty crime before breaking the Green Lanterns out of prison. Carol, in the beginning, stops Hal and other Green Lanterns from committing crimes but eventually stops and focuses mostly on taking care of her business and the Star Sapphires. The Green Lantern's main enemies are the Yellow Lanterns, Red Lanterns, and the Manhunters. Blue Lanterns tend to avoid the Green Lanterns and work with the Manhunters.
Barry is super cruel and Eobard Thawne (aka Reverse Flash or Professor Zoom) came from the future to prevent him from destroying everything. Barry's backstory is either he killed his mom and pinned it on his dad, or he ran away from home a few times and his parents died while trying to find him. Thawne is very careful about avoiding Barry while he's a civilian, but is aware that he needs to be close in order to prevent Barry from destroying the timeline or murdering everyone.
Diana has plans on taking over the world of man and eradicating the men while leaving the women in order to create a perfect world for women. Cheetah, Giganta, and (to a lesser extent) Cerce understand that men are needed just as much as women are in order for the world to continue on.
