Sometimes love is in the words “i love you” but sometimes

it’s little kids bringing you weeds they dug up out of the ground with the roots still covered in dirt and sometimes it’s in a business card for their home tailoring service with the promise to give you a deep discount when all you did was help them open a pdf and sometimes it’s bags of fresh produce left on your desk and sometimes it’s someone’s grandma patting you on the cheek or a grandson calling you from California to thank you for taking care of their family when they live so far away and sometimes it’s the homeless lady who’s been coming in every day for weeks to tell you that she finally found a job and a place to live and sometimes it’s the teenage girl shyly telling you they like your pride pin and asking if you have heartstopper (and the way she beams when you say that you do) or little boys telling you their favorite pokemon and

life is so fucking hard and the world is so fucking hard and sometimes it’s everything I can do to grab onto those things with both hands to remember that the worst people the world has to offer are usually the loudest and the only way to beat that is to love aggressively and relentlessly and harder than they can possibly hate.

Developers of the world, people (I) need a cozy video game about being a librarian in a little town.

Buying books for the catalog, organizing them based on categories or other systems, recommending them at the people of the town. All in a beautiful 19 century building which is in part in ruins but with the help of the mayor you repair and rebuild old zones of the library and of course exploration and discover old books with the history of the town and the library.

Maybe a small story about how the library helps to improve the life of the people, a woman who start a new store of embroidery, an explorer who needs books about plants, the old man who knows about the past of the library and how it was closed after the IIWW ...

I have GOT to find some kind of clever upcycling art project to use these gold-covered books. I cannot bear to toss them.

This was . . about a THIRD of the book that were in the house when I started cleaning. There was another shelf like this on the other side of the room, and the piles and stacks and shelves of books in every other room in the house except the bathroom. I need to remind myself that I HAVE made progress. I got rid of almost two shelves of elderly (but good condition) encyclopedias to a high school art program so the teacher could offer them to the kids for book-origami or those fancy , sculptural cutting projects. There were quite a few outdated sciency things or political books I outright tossed. A couple big boxes went to a book exchange to find new homes.

I have made progress. But wow.
