YES OMG. I went to an anime convention a few months ago and saw SO many cheap bootlegs being sold as if they were authentic items. Being an experienced collector, I have a good eye for bootlegs so it didn't affect me, but I couldn't help but think of all the people who were duped into buying a crappy $30 bootleg that they could have gotten on Aliexpress for like $2.

#the most egregious case was this one person selling these beautiful light-up displays of fake bonsai trees with figures perched on them #they were going for well over $100 each #but when I actually looked at the figures it was obvious they were cheap bootlegs that probably cost the seller less than $10 #the light up displays were probably from AliExpress or Temu as well #it just pissed me off because finding authentic figures for relatively cheap is very possible on sites like Yahoo Auctions Japan #but it's not as easy and cheap to use a proxy as it is to just order directly through a site like Temu #so guess what people choose to do instead #dropshipping #anti dropshipping #anime #figure collecting

i desperately wish gw2 had more food-centric lore. i think about asura food more than is probably particularly reasonable. they're sort of implied to like molecular gastronomy in the lvl500 chef quests which is fitting and makes sense, but surely not every asura is eating bespoke Pea Spheres day in and day out right? i think my favorite angle on them is a sort of 50s-80s american-esque food style where there's a huge emphasis on things being Convenient and Scientific, so you'd get a lot of absolute slop tv dinners and canned items that have labels boasting how they were nutritionally fortified and contained your day's complete vitamin intakes and so on. a lot of jellied things. i do also fully believe they would have + eat soylent.

boyf left the house to go to the pub and ended up accidentally leading the search for a missing child?? predicaments follow this man everywhere

#long story short the kids carers dont know the area well #were standing out on the trail panicking in the dark with just their phone lights on #boyf walks past and they ask him if hes seen a kid or if he knows where she could have gone #this area is all little trails through trees and marsh and streams #and he grew up here so he was like ah fuck theres so many places #he says give me a minute #runs back to grab his fluorescents and big torch #then went back and was giving ppl directions on where to check #cops turn up and they dont fuckin know the area either #so they’re asking him about all the different trails and shit #quite the situation
