ok, but imagine a post/mid-credits scene:

We see a dark door to Bucky's apartment from the inside, then hear rattling. Bucky opens the door while on the phone with Sam, ranting about what happened during the movie.

Then, he notices that there's faint light in one of his rooms, abruptly stopping the conversation and saying he'll call back. He cauciously walks up to the room as silently as he can, pulling out some kind of weapon in the meantime. He takes a steading breath and walks in.

Near a lightstand sits a man, one Bucky knows all too well, reading one of his books, his coat folded nearby. He doesn't look at Bucky but acknowledges him, greeting him.

Then he starts to talk.

He talks about power, how it corrupts absolutely. He talks about irony, how somones impulsive want can become their only purpose, the thing that was supposed to kill them the only value keeping them alive. He talks about a mission he was sent for, how it obviously is something he wasn't supposed to return from alive. He says that they can call it paying back for his help from last time, to make them even.

Bucky only raises his eyebrow, visibly unimpressed that so little info was supposed to convince him to do anything, especially for him. He asks for more details.

The man looks at him for a moment in silence, then closes the book he was reading.

"Say James," says Zemo, tilting his head, "What do you know about Latveria?"

so my division ocs!!!! i never gave them a team name or division, but based on the ideas surrounding them, i believe the intent was to be a kyoto division of sorts, for the symbolism of kyoto at one point being the capital of japan and a kind of posse foil

i think intended for his sister’s friend to be ichijiku 🤔

his sister did wind up leaving him behind and joining chuuoku 😔

his speakers would have been a coffin with swords piercing thru it and his mic a magic wand with one of those tiny mics attached to it lol

he comes from old money and was proud as hell for it

also flaunted his dad was the prime minister

was attending kyoto university at the time of the coup. his peers had always thought his personality was insufferable so they bullied him after the old government fell

he eventually dropped out bc of paranoia over being found by chuuoku and also couldn’t stand the bullying

since mr stonecold over there bore a little more similarities in looks to hitoya for my liking, i created shutter fly in response lol

i don’t remember mc stonecold’s eye colour tho and didn’t get very far in further fleshing out shutter fly so they aren’t coloured lol

with retrospect, i think it’d be cool if the architect was actually behind the city planning for chuuoku lol

mc stonecold’s speakers were marble statue hands with speakers embedded in them, and idk what his mic was lol

mc shutter fly had softbox lightstands i think are what those’re called as speakers and a camera stand as his mic lol

the kanji in his name reads 己空

his parents both physically and verbally abused him. on the day they abandoned him, they took him on a bullet train bc he seems to like train cars. they went to use the bathroom and got off a a stop without him

he himself understood what happened very quickly and by chance got off at nagoya

he was on the streets for months. by the time he found his way to kuugen temple, his hair had grown out to cover his eyes. it was kuukou who thought his eyes were metal as hell so he allowed kuukou to cut it for him lol

kuukou asked hitoya to find his parents to get them to relinquish custody

is very clingy with kuukou despite sometimes finding him scary. his scared response is to try to fight to protect himself and kuukou’s instinct is to fight back so they sometimes clash in this way

kuukou also sometimes falls back on the way shakku raised him while raising kikuu. but the first time kuukou ever almost hit kikuu was his last and told him to make sure he hits kuukou as hard as he can if kuukou ever tries to again

so their scuffles tend to be kikuu, a little scared bc he yells a lot, trying to box kuukou, and kuukou trying to restrain him without hurting him. kikuu eventually lets that fear go and becomes more of a snarky shit towards his father, very similar to how kuukou was with shakku lol

It was the holidays again in Twisted Wonderland, and that meant Night Raven College was covered in snow again as well. Ramshackle dorm had yet to get heating inside, so y/n was just as cold inside as she was walking to the school, or anywhere else.

She had started traveling from her dorm to see her partner. Most of his dorm had stayed over the holidays for studying, and so had he. She stumbled through the cold breeze that brought more snow down on her, falling onto her knees a few times in the process. She shivered in the cold, but kept moving. 

Now her boyfriend had exited his dorm mirror to go get a few things from the school kitchen, when he spotted y/n in the courtyard. He blinked a moment, confused, before she fell to her knees again. He rushed over quickly, kneeling down next to her and wrapping an arm around her, helping her up. 

“Ja-mil-” she gasped softly in the cold air, looking up at his face lovingly. He looked at her softly, concerned.

“How did you end up all the way out here, my love?” he asked carefully, already walking her to the mirror room.

“I was-s coming to see y-you” she managed to say softly before another shiver passed through her. He trained his eyes on her, noticing she was still wearing what she was when he had visited a few days ago.

“How long have you been wearing those clothes?” y/n might have flushed if her face wasent already flushed from the cold as they entered the mirror room. 

“Grim-m managed to ruin-n all the other o-ones, so now this is all i have-e until C-Crowley gets b-back” she shivered again as Jamil took her hands softly, making her smiled softly. “Your hands are warm-m” Jamil smiled fondly in return and nodded.

“Youre about to be warm too, were heading into my dorm.” she nodded softly, as Jamil pulled her through the mirror, and y/n instantly felt warmer, still not fully warmed up but much better than she felt outside.

Scarabia had become a second home to y/n, her visiting whenever she had the chance whether it was to just see Jamil, or to study with him, or help him cook. Practically anything happened and she was over there, so she had many fond memories over there. So it felt natural for her to be there.

Jamil lead her into the dorm itself, and through the halls till they reached his room, as he opened the door and lead her in, moving the blanket on the nicely made bed out of the way and having her sit, before wrapping the blanket around her tightly, almost like he was swaddling a baby, and not that she fought it. He then went to his closet and pulled out a shirt for her, and his birthday jacket before setting it on the bed next to her.

“Im going to go make you some hot tea, change into these while im gone, alright? Itll help you warm up” she nodded carefully, smiling gently.

“Alright mil, thank you” she hummed, already warm enough her voice wasent shaking, and he nodded back, smiling softly before leaving and closing the door. 

While he was gone she changed into the clothes, and he was right, she already was feeling warmer. She looked around the room that was so familiar to her, smiling softly at the familiarity. As Jamil came back with a tray, a small pot of tea and two tea cups on it, along with some small treats, which he slid onto the lightstand next to the bed. He poured some of the tea into one of the tea cups, offering it to her, smiling softly at how warm she looked in his coat. 

“Here, drink up, its your favorite.” she smiled brightly at him.

“Thank you jami.” she look it carefully, sipping at it softly as he sat next to her on the bed, and she rested her head against his shoulder. “Youre too good to me.” he shook his head softly. 

“I cant have you getting hypothermia, now can i?” he hummed softly, looking at her gently. Before he thought and stood up again, making y/n raise an eyebrow. 

“Where are you going?” he smiled. 

“I have a surprise for you” he hummed, eliciting a curious look from y/n as he reached up on the shelf in his closet, pulling down a small box before bringing it back over to her, her putting her tea cup on the tray again. He handed it to her and she inspected the box carefully as he sat back down. “Open it, love” she nodded before opening it carefully.

Inside was this beautiful necklace, a round stone that looked like a galaxy with a single gold band around it hung from a gold chain, and y/ns eyes were astonished as she looked at it.

“Najma picked it up from at home, thinking youd like it, from everything ive told her about you since she met you last year. Do you like it?” 

“I love it, Jami. thank you” Jamil smiled softly.

“Good, cause some force took its energy to send you here from another galaxy, just so we could meet. And for that im so grateful.” y/n smiled gently.

“Im so grateful too love.” he smiled warmly and flushed softly, “can you help me put it on?” he nodded, y/n handing the necklace to him before turning away from him, moving her hair out of the way as he put the chain around her neck, clasping it carefully before she turned back to him, fingers going up to mess with the stone, as she looked above them, a small thing of mistletoe forming above them, making her look at it curiously. 

“Did you do that?” Jamil looked up, confused, before his eyes locked on the mistletoe as well, and he shook his head. 

“No- who could have-” he looked at the door, which he hadnt closed because his hands were full, and he sighed. “Kalim must have.” y/n smiled gently, leaning closer to him carefully. 

“Tis the season of love. “ she smiled mischiviously, making Jamil chuckled softly and shake his head. 

“No, thats true hearts day season. Tis the season of giving.” y/n giggled softly in return.

“Well then, give me a kiss.” Jamil laughed, before leaning in and kissing her, as she returned it. Before they broke apart, resting their foreheads against one another. “I love you Jami”

“I love you to, y/n”

Yeah, I think so too 🥰 he seems pretty relaxed out and about, and also on stage (especially liked when he made that 'ain't he cute' face (don't know how else to describe it) to Flake a few concerts ago 🥰

And what i particularly like is that he hardly ever hurts himself anymore on stage, once or twice butting Paul's mic-stand a litttle bit, but at least he gave up (as far as i can tell) headbutting that massive lightstand every show....i did not enjoy watching that 🫣

So i hope being a bit closer back in the six-men-marriage (as i firmly believe he is) gives him some peace of mind (and i hope his own entourage treats him right as well)

DRUMMERS: Anton Fier & Chris Cutler, 1987

I photographed two drummers in 1987 who were more than timekeepers. Anton Fier arrived in Toronto as a bandleader - the organizing force behind The Golden Palominos, an alt/indie/avant garde supergroup who he had transformed from a jazz outfit on their first album to an experimental pop band on their second, Visions of Excess. Guest vocalists on the record included John Lydon, Michael Stipe of R.E.M., Jack Bruce from Cream and Fier's discovery, singer and songwriter Syd Straw, alongside an all-star cast of musicians that included Richard Thompson, Jody Harris and Bill Laswell. His touring band included Matthew Sweet and P-Funk keyboardist Bernie Worrell. I had done a very prickly, unsuccessful interview with Fier over the phone a few months previous, but for some reason (I loved the record) decided to ask my editors at Nerve for a re-match, interviewing and photographing him at his hotel for what would be a cover story.

My second interview with drummer Anton Fier turned out much better than the first, and my photos were even better. I was still using my human lightstand and tripod method, holding my Mamiya C330 in one hand and my Vivitar flash in the other while trying to focus and compose, but the results were improving. Fier and the Golden Palominos would continue to release a string of fascinating records through the '80s and into the '90s - albums like Blast of Silence, A Dead Horse, Drunk With Passion, Dead Inside and Dreamspeed, most of which are extremely rare today. Fier's career had begun with immense promise, with stints in the Lounge Lizards and The Feelies before the Golden Palominos, and he would play on records by everyone from the Electric Eels, Joe Henry, Lloyd Cole and Matthew Sweet to Yoko Ono, Mick Jagger, Jeff Buckley and Herbie Hancock. But by the 2000s he was beset by money and health problems, and in September of 2022 he was dead of assisted suicide in Switzerland. One of my 1987 portraits of Fier ran with his New York Times obituary - something neither he nor I would have imagined back in that hotel room near Maple Leaf Gardens.

The other drummer of note I photographed in 1987 was Chris Cutler, born in 1947 in Washington DC to a British intelligence officer and his wife. His musical career began when he joined the Cambridge prog band Henry Cow, and after the band broke up in 1978 he founded Recommended Records, later adding a publishing arm, November Books. While performing with Art Bears, News from Babel and countless other avant-garde groups, he wrote File Under Popular, a collection of essays on music. This book, and his apparently endless musical energy, was what inspired me to photograph and - I presume - interview him when he came to town in 1987. He embodied the DIY spirit that I also saw in punk rock, and I was impressed when he showed up at Ildiko's, the grimy club above a pool hall where I'd seen countless hardcore shows, with his whole drum kit condensed into two cases that he hauled up the stairs. I photographed Cutler in the grafitti-filled dressing room at the club, holding my C330 in one hand and moving my flash around with the other, getting a few dramatic results. Chris Cutler continues to perform, record, write and even broadcast to this day, and Recommended is still putting out records.
