had a dream i was in a grimdark magical girl yuri setting, so when i woke up i made it real (and bug themed)
bonus details under the cut:
So basically, a small town was secretly holding onto a box containing an evil god, that the local group of magical girls accidentally stumbled on and opened. The thing inside it wasted no time in starting to destroy the world, and for an unknown reason, one of the magical girls even joined forces with it. The rest of the girls managed to beat them, saving the world, but ended up dying from the curse it left on them soon after.
After dying, butterflies girl looped back in time before the box got opened, and decided to keep the box for herself, to make sure its evil influence (box thing yapping at you to let her out) wouldn't get to her beloved friends. Box thing constantly draws in her allies to the town to break her out & tries to convince butterflies girl to please let her out.
Also here's a really rough relationship chart for your interest:

Look all I’m saying is that the ball boys in tennis are the most Whumpee coded thing I have ever seen
They stand a perfect attention completely focused on their task
They’re quiet and non-intrusive
When it’s time to complete their one given task they bolt onto the field, immediately off, and resume the position as quickly as possible
They wear uniforms
They’re not paid
You know that clip of the poor kid that slips and bashes his face into the side? He just stands up with no fucking emotion and no one helps him. He just goes back to his job. Funny yes but also holy shit why did no one check if he was okay.
Why are there like six little whumpees running around every tennis match? Who allowed this? I wanna see them cry lmao

obsessed with this first chapter of this villainess manga showing that the protag's immediate first reaction to figuring out she was isekai'd was to go 'if i dress up as a guy and seduce the player things will turn out well for me :).' no other plans no other suggestions. "her" first thought is i need to dress up as a pretty bishounen boy RIGHT NOW and steal all the other love interests' romance flags. very cisgender of thing to do i'm sure.

[ID: panels from chapter 95 of "yona of the dawn". in the first panel, gija hoists kalgan onto his back before jaeha can. in the next panel, he looks at jaeha over his shoulder and says, "leave him to me. you're still worn-out from yesterday, aren't you?". the following two panels show jaeha staring at him in surprise, then smiling fondly. end ID.]
let it be known that this moment's on constant rotation inside my silly little head at all times

Its so funny that Makoto gets such an awful rep (usually bc of her treatment of Futaba), but going through the game again, Makoto is the one who leads the conversation into getting her to open up for the palace door. She immediately offers up the idea of just being honest with Futaba; no lies or soft words, just straight facts in a calm voice. She knew Futaba wanted the change of heart, badly enough that shed listen without having to be convinced by force. And when Futaba panics about having to open up, Makoto makes sure she has no chance of backing out (‘give me time to open the door’ ‘ten seconds’ ‘WHAT???!’). Its for her own good!!
I think it can come across as mean and overbearing and even insensitive, especially if you are someone who is sees themself IN Futaba, but Makoto is both incredibly caring, sisterly, and understanding during the entirety of her arc. Like most characters, fandom seems to completely warp and exaggerate very specific moments and traits and sum up entire personalities bc of it. Ryuji and him being stupid; Ann and her being loud and mean; Yusuke being dumb as shit and singleminded for NO discernible reason, etc etc. People took the snooping and her one vaguely insensitive comment (about futaba and her whole Thing) and decided that she was a cunt and a bitch that couldnt be reasoned with.
Its so bizarre. Im aware that every piece of media w vaguely assertive girls has this issue (Sakura, Katara, Aqua, etc etc) but its still crazy that this is prevalent. Shes like the direct mirror of Goro and he does not get this specific kind of hate (usually its ‘he backstabbed and blackmailed us so i hate him’). Sorry. I need to be a Makoto Apologist to protect her from the rest of the world. My girl did nothing wrong shes just weird. She thought she could fight a mafia boss and she was RIGHT! She WON!!!!

Zane has been getting shafted since Season 4 yeah I said it
All these posts about Zane have got my brain a-stirrin', and while it's a bit hard for me to tell how flanderized he is, I realized that Zane has definitely been getting the short end of the stick story-wise.
He was great in Seasons 1-3, peak even, but after that I feel like they ran out of ideas for him and now he's mostly just "funny robot go brrr". For example, every other ninja has had some (as I'm calling it) "cool moment" in the later seasons:
Kai became leader of the Geckles, became Flamebringer, and destroyed an entire Ice Dragon (in a region where it was literally too cold to start fires)
Jay had his whole action scene and talk with Unigami and moment with Nya at the end of Season 14
Nya and Cole had their respective seasons they honestly ate fr
and Lloyd had the Oni Trilogy, and after S10, had his subplot with Akita (if that qualifies enough for a cool moment)
the closest things Zane has had to a "cool moment" is when he defeats Aspheera (which didn't last long enough to count imo), when he was the Ice Emperor (oh cool is he gonna self reflect on this or have some internal dilemma NO), or that Crystalized scene, which is honestly mostly a Pixal moment if anything.
He's kinda just there tbh, and hasn't really been given any story arcs or major focus for a long time (not counting the Grief episode, tho I barely remember that so I won't comment on it).
I could go on an even longer ramble, but tldr, after Zane blew up in Season 3, I think they ran out of big things for him to do (both action and emotional-wise)
