i was NOT expecting a brilliantly written masterpiece about colonialism, but thats what i got, and its going in the greatest of all time hall of fame in my brain forever.

im not gonna sit here and regale you on the message of the movie. they only said fax, no printer, and its an important message to send kids. alot of the messages kids get about races and borders is “we are all the same 😚” but they came in with the “we are NOT the same and that is both good and bad, both exciting and dangerous so you need to be aware of dangerous ideas of “harmony”” and thats so real. kids need to understand differences are OK.

i love how they backed off the “chosen one” vibe poppy had in the first movie and talked about her flaws as a leader. while her stubborness was a good thing in the first movie to contrast branches pessimistic nature, it wouldnt have worked here, and i can see a cheap writer (like m*chael w*ldron) either insisting she gets away with her selfishness and carrying on with the happy ending anyway, or pretending that wasnt a character trait at all (because w*ldron doesnt watch the first movie and writes a sequel anyway)

my favorite scene is the bubble scene and the woods right after they leave funk where branch confronts poppy. do i even need to tell you why?

i just want to mention it because im pretty sure branch sings a cover of “girl crush” by little big town, which is a country band, and branch said he likes country music earlier and that slays. but when poppy comes in, what they sing is definitley not girl crush, and i cant tell if its giving “trolls can mix music” or im completley wrong and its a different song alltogether. but i cant tell if that song is homophobic or is super gay, so if im wrong thats prob for the best.

the only flaw i can think of is the country music, as a midwestern i can confidently say that was an affront to real blue grass country music. i guess born to die “works” but it didnt represent country as well as the other genres did. theres alot of controversy in the country music fandom with alot of singers who sound exactly the same and produced like its a factory line. but even if people still think miranda lambert and carrie underwood arent true country singers, their songs wouldve worked better than born to die. also the country trolls shouldve been on a self sufficient farm instead of the wild west. that wild western jazzy piano and country music isnt the same.

the only bad part about the movie is that it ended and barb ATE. SHE LEFT NO CRUMBS WITH THAT INTRO. send ask.

Barb really was goat, the best antagonist in the franchise. I love parallels between her and Poppy, how both had different intentions (Poppy wanted to help and Barb wanted to conquer) but Poppy's method was also wrong and both Poppy and Barb and everyone had to make compromises for all tribes to live in harmony because no one has to change their lifestyle for that to happen, all they have to do is accept that they're different and that's perfect. Just be yourself and let others be themselves.

That song in the end (Just Sing) slaps hard (and so does Can't Stop The Feeling btw).

Abed is USS Callister - OUGH my favorite episode. the crew being stuck would really resonate with Abed, both because of the bullying he's faced and also because he's stuck trying to figure out how to fix himself, how to make people like him; the characters in this episode are stuck being punished for things they don't understand, are treated as inhuman, and were forced to exist just to be tormented and they most of all just want out. when they finally do get out, it parallels Abed finding happiness at Greendale and away from his father and his bullies. Abed wouldn't stop thinking about "I wanted to say all that... but you threw my son out of an airlock, so fuck you to death" for WEEKS (just like me. rip Walton)

Troy is striking vipers - IM SO FUNNY this is the funniest episode in the entire show and if you haven't seen it i can't spoil it because watching it for the first time is a SURREAL experience. my brother described this episode as "what if gay?" and i think that's what 90% of Troy fans also think about 90% of the time so it couldn't be anything other than striking vipers im NOT SORRY. if you want a serious answer to this I guess he could also be playtest because the guy in the episode has the same vibes as Troy but very muted. watch striking vipers it's so funny it will leave you so confused

I wish there was more of an explanation for why Annie would be San Junipero but I'm afraid it is just the lesbians. also, the main girl being unwilling to accept her identity is just SO Annie. I feel like she has this fantasy in her mind that one day she'll get to run off with the girl man of her dreams and life forever in a heaven-like dream state -- she would absolutely go into San Junipero if she could, and she would never admit that, but she would.

Britta is The National Anthem - I also don't have much of an explanation for this one. guy fucks a pig on live television and you're telling me Britta Perry's not all over that? i think she would miss the point until the last few minutes when we get the shots of the crowds watching in horror and the empty streets (which by the way, fucking tore me apart) it kind of reflects her politics being super performative, she wants to do something good and meaningful that makes a difference and a statement, but she would never go through with it. she would think she wants to watch a politician fuck a pig because it's 'what he deserves' and is 'an up-yours to the system', but then she's watching it for hours and suddenly it's not funny anymore.

Shirley is nosedive - this one is just pulling from the show. the meow meow beenz episode is the same as nosedive beat by beat. it speaks to her holier-than-thou attitude, literally just watch the meow meow beenz episode it's the same

Jeff is White Christmas - i could go on for so long. first of all, John Hamm just has winger-if-he-was-a-better-person vibes, and this character accentuates that perfectly. I don't even know how to describe it, if you've seen it, you get it. I also think that the ending could be one of Jeff's biggest fears: ostracization. he's constantly trying to both fit in and make himself a distinct individual, but being so distinct that everyone sees him as a red mass and stays away from him would be terrifying, that man could not handle that kind of embarrassment

Granted, they have a history of reading bad fanfiction on wattpad, but I don't write in wattpad anymore! I write on ao3! And I don't write smut! I'm allergic to it! So tell me, why are you crying please what the fuck shit do you need a tissue what's got you crying about?

This is why you never reveal that you're a fanfic writer to a group of people who think theater kids are weird. THEY THINK. THEATER KIDS. ARE WEIRD. (the different type of weird which they hate). I'M A THEATER KID. (backstage and minor character but it still counts) GVBFILCOFHIEUKB

At least I have one (1) irl friend who doesn't think fanfiction is bad. In fact, she reads it every fucking day and openly declares it and I'm proud of her for being that brave. Coincidentally, she was also the one who introduced fanfiction to me (unintentionally, i just happened to be there when she started reading it out loud to our cabin at camp. oh God, someone ask me about the camp, I have stories). And she offered to beta read fics for me as well as work on a collaborative fic. And I have multiple online friends who beta my works and co-write stuff with me and i beta back and are just lovely + readers and commenters who actually like my fics and writing and I love them all so much. So there's that!

Recently, my cis lesbian roommate made a comment about "he/theys" that kinda stuck with me. She said these people, on her dating app, were matching with her and ignoring that she had lesbian in her bio.

We'd had convos about whether trans mascs and trans men could be lesbians (im a transmasc person, but not a lesbian, although ive identified with the label before), and I'm all for he/him lesbians and trans men who are lesbians- I've researched, I know Stone Butch Blues, I don't think telling anyone they can or can't be anything is right.

So this sorta stuck with me. I went, "but. They probably identify as nonbinary if they use they, and even if they don't, trans guys sometimes ID as lesbians too." And she was like "well, but I'm not attracted to masculine people." And I brought up that she does usually like butch lesbians (who definitely use other pronouns besides she/her sometimes!), and she sorta brushed me off, saying there was a different "vibe" between transmascs who use he/they and butches (even though they... sometimes are the transmascs she's talking about???)

So I was like "well, do you have 'looking for femmes' in your bio or something?"

"No."

"Then how are they supposed to know??"

"I don't know it's just my preference!!"

It was super. Odd. I should say, my roommate is cis but uses she/he pronouns. She is, in fact, a lesbian who uses he/him sometimes, as he identifies as bigender *but not a man, ever.

I just find this all so confusing. I mean, let's think about it, fr.

So the popular idea today is that lesbians cannot be men, so trans men can't be lesbians.

Now, here's what that implies: if trans men can't be lesbians, then they are always in the same category as cis men. Now, of course, some trans men ARE in that category, usually binary trans men- and they're all men, right, so every man is under that umbrella. But still, gender isn't so simple. Trans men and transmascs have vastly different experiences between each other and especially cis men. This isn't to do with internal identity, but outward perception. Regardless of whether I'm a man or not, the world has seen me as a woman all my life. That makes it very hard to be accepted and comfortable in mlm spaces, especially when theres so much transphobia in the cis gay community. Plenty of trans men are stealth, or simply have a supportive community, and are welcomed like a cis man would be. But that's not the case for everyone, and not every trans man WANTS to be treated in the same way a cis man might.

But whatever, okay, let's go with that. Trans men are men and lesbian means non-man attracted to non-man, so they're not included cause it's invalidating to (some) trans men, regardless of if they've identified with the label lesbian for years or feel unsafe in mlm spaces bc of how overwhelmingly cis they can be, or whatever else.

So... what about nonbinary men, then? Nonbinary women seem to be accepted, not just nb fems but those who identify as both nonbinary AND a woman- so why are nonbinary men not?

"Because they have man in their identity and lesbians can't like men"

So.. what about bigender people? People who are both men AND women. They can't be lesbians? I guess not.

But let's say they can, and we're just excluding binary trans men from the term lesbian..

People often bring up "would you accept a cis man identifying as a lesbian?" As an arguing point here. Bringing it back to my original point, would you accept a "he/they"? What if they were amab, and had no interest in transitioning? Or a transmasc person who DID? I just saw a transfem lesbian saying she couldn't possibly let trans men with full beards into lesbian spaces as it was transphobic and wrong- aren't there transfem lesbians who don't want to shave or get their face lasered? What do sex characteristics have to do with it? I thought we were trying to avoid labels based on that sort of thing.

So at the end of the day, I guess it really is about the label of "man." What's that even mean? That's literally just a word. I'm so confused.

as a genderfluid lesbian, it makes me feel unsafe here. it sucks to know that i'll never be fully accepted as who i am. my gender fluctuates very often and i feel more connected to being a woman which is why i use lesbian. Even so, on some days I feel more like a man. Am i suddenly not lesbian on those days? it sucks really.

And yes, they can use sapphic/achillean mspec instead! sure! but who made you the one to decide someone's identity for them?

Frosty Ruins "Bottoms"

Are you ready for this movie review? Get ready because it starts rough and never stops getting rougher. This is a review I was dreading because it seems to have marketed itself as a cringe fag fest and the first 10 seconds of the movie didn't disappoint, I already hate it and I already have so many complaints. The movie opens on two women discussing "getting puss." You don't know these characters, you know nothing about them not their personalities, their interests their values, not even their names…but you do know about their sex lives. Not only have they prioritized their sex lives over every single other aspect of who they are, making this a degenerate starting point…but it's disorienting from a story standpoint. Why do I care about this character…what do I call this character…give me some setting, some backdrop…anything. Porn starts with more story and less focus on sex than this.

I can tell already this is going to be a constant violater of the classic "show don't tell" advice because the dialogue is atrocious. Lines like "Im in a little suit like the lesbian I am" make you reject the idea that these are even people talking…all I can see is script writers, cameramen, and a director, it does the opposite of making me forget I'm watching a movie…it makes me painfully aware of it and I don't buy it as a genuine human interaction. This is dialogue that can only be the work of a broken illiterate persons imagination or an algorithmic writing program. It's like someone asked chatgpt to write superbad but gay and without any humour or reason. Tell me this doesn't sound like a robot attempting humour... "I bet you could eat food, digest it, let it marinate and poop it out." I'm not making that up or being hyperbolic that is word for word actual dialogue from this awful fucking piece of shit horrorfest of a movie.

Although I will give them credit for one interaction where they acknowledge that some or even all of the bullying and hate they get doesn't come from being gay but from being "ugly and untalented" and show an example of a popular gay dude being widely accepted. But yeah a premise of the movie is that the people are hard to look at on purpose. Finally some acknowledgment that physical appearance plays a much greater role in bullying and acceptance than any minority or special interest status ever did.

One final point in this movies favour is presenting a completely accurate depiction of how cringe and gameless most lesbians are. The moment a woman tries to pickup other women they grow a fedora and a neckbeard and start spilling spaghetti out of their pockets. It's a reluctant point because it also makes the movie incredibly hard to watch for a whole new reason.

I have to talk about the black characters rant early on in the movie, I call her that because again I have no idea who anyone is or what to call them because who they are has taken a massive backseat to who they want to fuck. She goes on this explosive insane rant and there are so many things wrong with it I don't even know where to begin. It comes out of nowhere for one, it makes no sense, she talks about hanging up her vagina…but then her idea of hanging it up is having sex with someone else…I only know it's a guy because I was able to rewind 3 times and listen back to what she was saying. She introduces a character in the dumbest way imagineable. Imagine the first time you get introduced to a character is in a mumbly lightning fast rant about their sex life. If you slow it down and piece it together you learn she's introducing a religious character who is a friend of hers and a closeted homo. See I thought homosexuality was supposed to be two people of the same sex hooking up but she seems to think that because she can't get women and he's closetted it means they would of course be a good default couple.

The rant is also grossly blasphemous and not even just to Christians. I can't explain how bad this is you just have to hear it. "Because he's gay and fearless he's probably going to fuck me without protection, I'm gonna get pregnant, we'll have to join a church and he'll probably be the gay pastor." What the fuck is she talking about, why would a gay man be fucking her…how is she so certain he would fuck her without protection and why is she saying it like she would have no say in the matter? Why would her getting pregnant mean they would have to join a church…why would he then be the pastor of the church? You already established he was gay so why do you have to specify he'd be a gay pastor? None of this makes any sense, every sentence deviates further fom rationality than the last and every line brings with it new unanswered questions. Then it ends with her screaming "the deacons fucking the evangelist" over and over and crying. My headache has a headache. Gay people have to pray people do not watch this movie because "homophobia" will skyrocket if they do.

The movie also has some of the most unbelievable and wooden dialogue I've ever heard in my life. Nobody in the history of planet earth has ever spoken or behaved the way the people in this movie do. It's almost like to make up for the fact that it's a comedy with no jokes or humour at all they try to just exaggerate every interaction and then do it very big with overacting and overreacting. For example a football player is insisting he did nothing wrong by groping an older woman in front of his girlfriend….already a ridiculous caricature of straight men, then he tries to stop her from leaving in her friends car where they gently bump into him with the car and he explodes into hysterics like he's been gievously injured…and the entire football teams comes running to help and fawn over him like he's a gunshot victim. As I write this I figured out what this movie is and why every moment of it feels so cringe and wrong…every interaction is like a fake tumblr story, from the start it had "the whole bus clapped" vibes. Like when the principle summons the main characters to his office by getting on the intercom and announcing to the whole school "can the ugly untalented gays please come to my office." You know the saying it's funny because it's true…it goes the other way…this is not funny because it has no truth in it whatsoever. Every second of this movie is false, every line, every action, every shot…just rings of untruth and fabrication. This movie is the comedy equivalent of a real doll. It has all the same parts all the limbs are where they belong…but they are not real…there's a hollow soullessness to it, a feeling of plastic wrongness.

I said before it's like someone prompted chat gpt but it gets worse and more likely AI written the more you watch. It's like they said to combine superbad and fightclub but make it sound like it was written by tumblr and one of the criteria was that it had to be lesbians and it had to be pure unfiltered cancer.

By the way as of this point in the review I've only watched 9 minutes of this horrific piece of dogshit. This is going to be without a doubt the worst movie I've ever watched every sentence of it pisses me off. Every moment is a new thing to piss you off, this is a weapons grade bad movie…like it was made in a lab to cause frustration and braincunting. Just when you're relieved they stopped arguing over which one of them is faggot #1 and which one is faggot #2 the one asks the other if she "perioded herself." Then there is a completely unexplained "joke" where one of the students claims her vagina is owned by the government and as the viewer you're left with again so many questions…why was that supposed to be a joke? what does it mean? And please can I have at least a ten second break from incoherence and cringe?

Then in another "that happened" moment the football guy from earlier comes into class…in his full gear…because to whoever made this movie it's just a costume and football players are not people outside of playing football. He then smashes a glass and threatens her with it by mimicking dragging the glass across his throat…and the teachers response is "hey man you couldn't make that analogy with your fist?" And again so many things wrong all at once. Why is the teacher not punishing him for smashing school property and then threatening another student? Why does a teacher not understand the difference between an analogy and a gesture? Again these little details are part of why I'm starting to seriously believe my this shit is all being written by algorithms theory. It's like nobody even bothered to edit the script. It's full of lines that make no sense, jokes that have no setup or no punchline…just the cadence of a joke.

If I go in depth into everything wrong with this movie I'll literally…not figuratively have to examine every single line, because at least for the start of this movie there is not one line that is not absolutely mind numbingly retarded and frustrating. And every line has multiple things wrong with it. Listen to some of this shit…

"How come you can't buck up and learn to protect yourselves without running somebody over."

"You can beat the shit out of each other while you perform the vagina monologues,just stay in your lane until you're munching beaver at weslyan."

By the way those two lines are how the concept of them starting a fight club comes up, it's so abrupt, so out of nowhere and so retardly nonsensical…it doesn't follow at all. The entire premise of the movie hinges on a throwaway line that makes no sense. The only reason they bumped into a guy with their car was he was threatening them and preventing them from leaving because they were offering a ride to his ex girlfriend. They took this to mean we as gay people need to learn self defense…already a leap in logic because nobody was attacking them and certainly not because they were gay. Then they accept their principles notion that they shouldn't use anything to defend themselves with, a retarded idea that nobody even bothered to attempt to explain or defend…and they just accept that they can't or shouldn't use whatever means they have available to defend themselves and instead have to learn hand to hand combat…another stretch. And then decide that the best way to do this is to start a fight club with other gays where they all just beat each other up. And they do this because the principle suggested it for no reason while insulting them. And by the way I'm explaining this all way better and more clearly than the movie does, the movie is just a string of incoherent sentences that form some idea of a patchwork of a plot I'm just trying to make sense of the nonsense. This plot is not the work of an intelligence at all…nevermind a low intelligence.

I really can't finish this movie,this is normally the amount of rage and content I have after a full 2 hour movie but im only at 14 minutes here. It's not even that the writing is so atrocious, the timing, the delivery…the acting is just the worst I've ever seen. I've sat through some horrifically bad movies over the years for these reviews I've sat through countless movies and shows that I grade as F-and yet never once did I say ok I can't watch this anymore…I've always finished it. I've watched woke black sitcoms, Rian Johnson movies, femsploitation reboots and yet this is the first time I've ever had to say no I can't finish this it's too awful. This movie is without a single doubt in my mind the worse movie ever made. It has ruined my grading curve because I need a grade so much lower than an F- and it just doesn't exist. Is Z- minus a thing? If in theory that is 20 grades lower than a fail that's what I give this movie. May God have mercy on us all.

I get what that person is saying but I don't think men experience "misogyny". I think it's related to misogyny and it's related to homophobia but can't properly be called either.

Patriarchal cultures are like a cult or religion of male supremacy, utterly obsessed with propagating themselves. That is why they control women brutally as they literally control the propagation of human life. But culturally, they are also obsessed with creating men that can make more men like themselves. There's different molds for different cultures of course and with different acceptable "types" of men even within the same culture (ie being gentle is unmanly, BUT you can be gentle if you make up for it by being violent through rhetoric and community function - think of Priests or otherwise "gentle" seeming very religious men, and how for them it's interpreted as being "dignified" in a way it wouldn't fly for other men). So while there's some room for variation, there's still a strict sort math involved for how unmanly you're allowed to be, and a strong artificial upbringing to mold boy as much as possible.

So going back. That process of molding is what she's getting at. It's not that men experience "misogyny" or that straight people experience "homophobia". Rather patriarchy needs to mold boys into men capable and willing to carry out misogyny, homophobia, and other cruelty to perpetuate itself, and they most certainly are willing to abuse boys just enough to make sure they get those results - if not by directly changing that boy, then by teaching other boys by example what sort of behavior deserves cruelty. And there's an in-built cultural anxiety at people outside of these roles, and even a panic response to them in children. This is why say, even conservative women react violently and urgently to something like their little boy wanting a butterfly face paint instead of something manly. It's a panic response!

Anyway this is just my two cents as a moid, sorry for the essay v_v ... but I think misogyny and homophpbia proper really have to be preserved to define the experiences of people who strictly do experience that on a life-long and systemic basis. But idk certainly thought provoking...

i think it relies upon one being mistaken for the other. a straight man can experience homophobia, i do know that - some guys beating on him for looking like a fag aren't going to stop when he insists "you've got it all wrong! im not actually gay!!" and i do also know that males can experience misogyny, if they're perceived as female - and that does happen to "cis" men too. a lot of ppl have called this "misdirected homophobia" & "misdirected misogyny" in the past but when i was talking abt this last i was arguing that the "misdirected" is kind of neither here nor there. it's happening, misdirected or not. they won't ever experience the full weight of those marginalisations - even the campest straight guy in the world can still marry his wife, and the most female-passing transwoman you'll ever meet will never need an abortion - but they can absolutely still experience facets.

the thing i thought was most interesting in that post was the thought of the straight teen still figuring out their sexuality & internalising the homophobia they recieve bc they think they MIGHT be gay... in a way thats still a case of one being mistaken for the other, but in an internal rather than external way. they're experiencing homophobia externally bc someone else has mistaken them for gay, and experiencing it internally bc they have mistaken themselves for gay. but some day they figure out that they're not actually gay after all - what does that experience leave behind in them? Hmmm. OK I'll start with KakaGai since they're probably my 2TP (is that a thing? The Naruto ship I love the most 2nd to GaaLee of course.)

Anyway, there's nothing about KakaGai that has me convinced they're anything less than canonically married. Like, from the moment Gai called Kakashi his man of destiny, they've been joined at the hip. Gai has been there for Kakashi through every loss, every trauma, just this consistent presence in the background. When he offered to basically sacrifice himself into ANBU because he saw Kakashi being swallowed by the darkness, my heart cried for both of them. And that's not to say that it's one sided! Kakashi was there to defend Gai when his father was attacked. He said he would have given up *anything* to heal Gai's leg. He's gone from finding Gai a nuisance to acknowledging him as a true rival, someone who he fights back to back with. They know each other so intimately, I can't see their relationship as anything but canon.

NejiTen and ShikaTema are about the only het ships I can tolerate in Naruto (except for ChouIno but nobody ever writes them). I think they're both good balances, personality wise.

Neji needs someone to soften him up a bit while not letting on he's being softened up, and Tenten’s combination of brashness and affection is perfect for that. He needs to be able to let loose and be silly, and Tenten can bring that, since she plays a great straight man to her teammates' lunacy. And as we've seen in canon (well, filler), Tenten struggles with not being the way a kunoichi "should" be, and I think Neji, who--if he had been given the chance to mature--likely would have bucked tradition, is exactly the sort of person to accept her for who she is, to help her develop her strengths, and (crucially) to happily listen while she rants for hours about ninja tools.

ShikaTema have a similarly complimentary dynamics. Temari is one of the few kunoichi who I think wouldn't tolerate any of his bullshit (we're ignoring Boruto here because FUCK Temari being a housewife like ... who *is* that??) In my mind, Shikamaru is a devoted househusband and they split their time between Suna and Konoha, because neither's job is more important. Plus they're just the endgame ship with the most development in canon - there's a clear mutual respect and attraction from the beginning, and Temari was literally like "Hey if we go to this hot spring I'm not gonna be able to resist throwing myself at you" and tbh I love a forward woman who knows what she wants (i.e. that D).

Aaaand that brings us to KanKiba. Frankly I just think they're a hilarious chaos couple. Like they're just a couple of dirty, grungy guys with arrested development and mommy/daddy issues. Their entire dynamic in my mind is a hilarious dance of "if the balls don't touch its not gay" and neither of them washing their asses.

im drunk, enid is trans, and you absolutely cannot change my mind on this and here is why: (spoilers for Wednesday ahead)

first of all, pink and blue in her hair aside, not only is she hyper feminine (as transwomen often become hyperfeminine, source: my trans gf who knows many other transwomen) but it is, to my knowledge, never explicitly stated why she cannot wolf out at the start of the series. just that she can't and might not. she also identifies herself as a kitty, which i did not think much of UNTIL the parent's day episode, and here's why:

not only is her mom so fucking overbearing and insistent that enid go to a "conversion camp" in order to wolf out, but is wolfing out late so common that there needs to be literal lycanthropy conversion camps in order to make it happen for young werewolves who are a little late on the path? something hit me during that scene while enid refused to go, stating that if she was meant to wolf out then she would do it on her own, and it's this:

if she is trans, which i think she most certainly is, and wolfing out often happens early on in puberty or the early teenage years, it is very much possible that sweet, sharp little enid here went on puberty blockers before wolfing out could potentially happen, thus throwing off her biological timeline for when wolfing out would naturally happen for her body if she had not begun taking puberty blockers and undergoing HRT.

the doctors say they dont know why she can't and that she might never actually do it, but how much of that is actually true? maybe the doctors dont actually have a lot of experience with MtF werewolves, and therefore, would not know the typical species response to puberty blockers combined with taking estrogen. it's entirely possible they have plenty of data on FtM werewolves, but MtF werewolves could still be a bit of a mystery to them so they don't really know. not only is her human body adjusting to becoming a woman's body but her wolf bits and bobs have to adjust as well from male wolf biology to female wolf biology.

further evidence that backs this up could be read as normal werewolf worries, but the fact that enid hemms and haws about if "two species" can "make it together" to her love interest, a male gorgon, speaks a lot to me. not only does it make sense for her to worry about dating someone of a different species, but trans people who are not aro/ace often worry about the same exact thing: what if they, as a transgender person of whatever flavor, cannot find a romantic/sexual connection? Even if Enid was Aro/Ace, there's still that deep set fear: what if they can't find anyone at all and are destined to be alone?

of course it is normal werewolf worries to be scared to not be able to find a mate or a pack of her own, especially if she's late to realizing her true werewolf form, but wouldn't that worry just be amplified by not only being hate to wolfing out, but to being a trans werewolf as well? it's no secret that many transgender people ALSO worry about never finding a partner or a "family", so to speak.

the fact is, sugary sharp-claw enid's entire character arc absolutely screams transgender&self-acceptance to me AND to other trans folk i've spoken about this to, especially when it comes to the conversion camp thing and how her mother is so ... like That, and her father simply says that he is proud of her and hugs her, because he inherently accepts who she is and what her life choices are even if she never "wolfs out" properly like her brothers did. Her father does not care if she is trans or cis or straight or gay or wolfs our or does not, he loves his daughter. Her mother wants to send her to conversion therapy. also its cute that her werewolf form has pink and blue fur goodnight
