oh yeah today i got a new flash funko pop. it’s exactly the same as two of my other flash funko pops, except this one lights up and makes pew pew, whoosh noises when you bop it on the head. it is, quite frankly, delightful

when you create a character and want to give them a nickname, it might sound ideal to call them something cute or cool like nightshade or candy or other stuff, but i think its inherently more realistic and way more funnier if you have in mind that most of the times nicknames come from other people, like your friends or family, and they can be straight up violating

from what ive gathered throughout the years of living amongst people, there are a few "nickname categories", and they are as follows:

your surname has a somehow funny word in it and its now your nickname for forever

youve had a misfortune of reminding someone of some fictional character and now you are called by that characters name

actually, youve had a misfortune of reminding someone of anything, be it a plant or an animal or an inanimated object, and it is now your nickname

youve misspelled/mispronounced a word and everyone collectively agreed that its how they will call you from now on

(the last one is personal bc i legit didnt know how "auchan" is pronounced and i said it wrong in front of my friends (rookie mistake). ive been auchan (the mispronounced way) for a long, long time)

obviously do what you want with your characters, but i highly encourage the funny nicknames. they can add so much to the oc, both in the dynamic they have with their friends/family, and also in terms of a backstory for them

layer one (a non-fan just seeing the scene): i’m sorry sheriff woody from toy story is saying all this?? roasting an anime villain? and it’s played completely straight? 🤣 kh is completely insane

layer two (casual kh fan; has seen the rest of the context for the toy box world up until that point) YOU GET HIMMMMMM!!!! MESS HIM UP WOODY!!!! FRIENDSHIP!!!! epic haha

layer three (invested fan; knows baseline lore about xehanort): SHEESH. lol. that surely can’t be true… ouch. great scene though

layer four (completely insane fan; knows The Deep Lore about xehanort from khux and khdr): i am going to go lie down in traffic.

The thing about Toy Story 5's premise is that honestly, toys vs. technology could be a really interesting idea to explore. Like yes, some kids genuinely are addicted to tech and don't really get the experience of playing with toys (but a lot less percentage than some adults seem to presume.) And in a world where tech is being introduced to children younger and younger, how do toys deal with that? Especially in a case like Bonnie who is presumably still a young child, who previously loved her toys to death (...TS4 notwithstanding clearly) but suddenly apparently is neglecting them for a tablet? Also there are some toys coming out that are both tech and toy fusion, how do those fit in to the Toy Story world?

The problem with the movie is, I'm not confident that anyone on the creative team will be able to explore it beyond "lol tech bad," and also, they kinda already did this with the "Toy Story That Time Forgot" special.

Also I have no real comment on the "army of malfunctioning Buzz Lightyear dolls" thing. I just don't know what they can actually do with that, and that's coming from someone who actually enjoyed the movie Lightyear.

sjdhsldjskdj LITERALLY!! i was made fun of so much too when i used to have an accent and would say it after moving to different places but i eventually got it out of my voice. when my grandma came to visit months ago she was like givin me a lil side eye cause she said it shouldn’t have fully gone away and now she sounds way older next to me whereas with my aunt (28) she sounds closer in age bc they still have the same accent. my grandma is 63 (and we’re like every generation on that side of my family born and raised in the south) and she laughs SO hard whenever we text the group chat with ‘ya’ll’ and cowboy memes because people who aren’t from the south used to spell it wrong and tell us it wasn’t a real word so we shouldn’t say it anyways and they’d make fun of us.

whenever we do it my grandma is like ‘you’re gonna give me a hernia is what y’all are gonna do right now with all that laughin’ and she’ll even go ‘good lord my god’ like it’s SO funny. fr please, that anon was not on the inside of that inside joke. as if it’s even that serious lmfao. i don’t talk about my entire life story on here because why would i. their lack of context and following assumptions based on their own projections are not my problem lmfao. we’re havin our funnnnnn ;)
