lilith origin are very interesting in mesopotamia myth she was the handmaiden of inanna known as lilitu. Lilitu spirit is wind and storm spirit who also seduce men. Then in one of the text epic of gilgamesh the tree that meant for inanna for her throne is inhabited by a serpent spirit with the name kis kil lilake whom scholar translate to lilith. Gilgamesh cut down the tree make all those inhabitant flee away. In judaism scripture torah she was say to be the consort of hashem. She was the dark counterpart of shekinah. In another jewish scripture she was consort of samael while the younger lilith who is identified with naamah consort of asmodeus. In the qlipoth tree of death she and her three other sister is part of that. Her other three sister is either her other aspect or her daughter. She alongside with them is 4 queen of hell

Lilith often people forgot she is a baby kidnapper and eat them. She cause miscarriage to woman and rape man in their sleep in order to create her children. Her eating baby is not just from lilitu spirit but from another goddess lamashtu just like her cause miscarriage. There is debate whether she was goddess or demoness. From one of statue burney relief the goddess identified with either lilith inanna or ereskhigal
