Alas, this beautiful dream could not last.

While it's different from my usual style I really loved how this came out!#Strolling back to the art scene to remind everyone I am still a lover of botanicals.#I had a blast with the symbolism for this one:#White lilium longiflorum (easter lily) for rebirth. Purple hyacinthus orientalis for sorrow and forgiveness.#Red spider lily (Lycoris radiata) for loss and death.#'Rebirth into something new' is so well done in Dungeon Meshi. She is back but she is not the same.#The last few episodes/chapters gives her this dreamy quality to her. As if she's not quite real. She's so perfect in their memories.#And as we know of dreams - no matter how sweet- they must end once we wake up.#It is so painful to lose someone twice. To see someone you loved in a dream and wake up and remember that loss again.#Dungeon Meshi being a grief allegory is important to me. I'll explain more as the story continues B'*)

Youre fine hun, and thank you 🫂 i honestly dont think ive even seen or noticed anything stressful from you! And i generously block tags to help curate my tumblr experience, and it works 90% of the time. Its just that once in a while a post slips through, and even then i can usually recognize its gonna be a heavy one and scroll past before i read too much of it

#kiwi answers #lily my sweet #ive got a lot of political/world issues/etc tags blocked for this reason #i care deeply snd feel even deeper so i can’t usually handle seeing tons of posts on my timeline about genocide for example #but with the tags thing i can block most of them #its just once in a while someone does add any tags to their post about it #if the og post is tagged properly all reblogs will show as having a blocked tag #and it doesn’t bother me much seeing that theres a post with fill in the blank tag or word mention #with one exception but its rare and i dont think youve literally ever reblogged one of those

thinking about jily recently because they are so tragically romantic.. lily throwing a snarky remark at james and james swooning over the fact she even noticed him. james smelling her citrus-sweet perfume in an amortentia potion and getting all shy with a small smile on his face. james listening to lily with endless patience after an argument with petunia. lily watching james in quiet awe on the quidditch pitch and pretending it never happened when her friends tease her about it. library study sessions where she's the only one who can actually get james to study, because he could listen to her explain the goblin rebellions in her lovely irish accent for the rest of his life. common room parties where the liquor's flowing and lily's eyes are fixed low and intent on james, turning him into a stuttering mess. james calling lily his wildflower. and in the midst of war, james pressing a kiss to the crown of lily's head as they make coffee in their kitchen. lily cleaning james' bloodied knuckles after he gets into another bar fight. the last thing james ever told her was "be right back" as the doorbell rang on that halloween night. james and lily died in different rooms of the house, but their final thoughts were of each other.
