[Drama of the Week] Doctor Lawyer
[Drama of the Week] Doctor Lawyer
So Ji Sub is back after his last project, My Secret Terrius in 2018. He also got married and has been living under the radar. Even before this, he seems to be an elusive superstar, he doesn’t use social media and he doesn’t put his life in the limelight at all. This only makes him more endearing to the fans. I have been a long time So Ji Sub fan since watching the Phantom in 2012 where he acted…

MY ID GANGNAM BEAUTY //  KDRAMA DİZİ YORUMU
UYARI : Yazılar genel olarak spoiler içerebilir. İçermeyedebilir.
İmdb puanı: 7,4 Benim Puanım: 6
Drama: ID: Gangnam Beauty (English title) / My ID is Gangnam Beauty (literal title)
Hangul: 내 아이디는 강남미인
Director: Choi Sung-Bum
Writer: Gi Maeng-Gi (webcomic), Choi Soo-Young
Episodes: 16
Date: 2018
Language: Korean
Country: South Korea
Cast: Lim Soo-Hyang, Cha Eun-Woo, Jo Woo-Ri, Kwak Dong-Yeon

5 KDramas to Watch if You Want to See Female Villains in Action
There are three main elements to make a Kdrama worth watching - the main leads, the execution of the storyline and the villains. You can’t deny the fact that villains like Jung Joon Ho and Imoogi have made the courses of the dramas even more exciting and enthralling to watch. Villains have sometimes made us hate them with all of our hearts, sometimes they silently secured a place in it (just like Jung Guen Won from Itaewon Class).
When it comes to Kdrama villains, they are mostly male but that doesn’t mean Korean Industry has not gifted us some of the cruelest and toughest female villains. And if you are yet to enjoy one of these bone-chilling female villains of Kdrama, then you are at the right place because today we have brought 5 deadliest yet underrated female villains for you to enjoy.
1. Park Yeon Jin - The Glory
Tumblr media
There is hardly anyone who has not watched The Glory yet. The drama deals with sensitive themes like high school bullying, abuse of power and money, infidelity and so on. And when a drama is mainly dark themed, the actors playing these dark roles need to be talented enough to pull the roles perfectly without leaving any loopholes. Lim Ji Yeon here plays the role of Park Yeon Jin, who is the leader of the bully group. She is a spoiled teen brat, who abuses her power and money to get away with her wrong doings. She constantly bullies Moon Dong Eun, pushes another student from the rooftop, kills one of her notorious friends, cheats on her husband and what not. She has all the ill-qualities that will make you hate her from the core of your heart. But her character and Lim Ji Yeon’s ability to blend with the role, makes the drama much more enjoyable and thrilling. So, if you have not watched it, you should give it a try but proceed with caution since there are triggering concepts.
2. Choi Myeong Hee - Vincenzo
Tumblr media
Everything I try to write about Choi Myeong Hee will fall short. The way we all wanted to kill her while watching Vicenzo is proof of the ability of Kim Yeo Jin in portraying this evil lawyer, who is also Jung Joon Ho’s ally. She’s nasty, she is evil, she is cruel, even her accent will tick you off very badly. But we have to admit to the fact that the drama would not be as marvelous as it is without her character in it. She constantly commits many wrong deeds only to gain more and more power. However, we must admit that we all have been quite impressed by her zumba dancing skills anyway.
3. Cha Moon Suk - Lawless Lawyer
Tumblr media
The character of Cha Moon Suk is the perfect example of two-faced. This Lawless Lawyer villain appears to be all noble and caring but she is actually corrupt and greedy. Lee Hye Young plays the role of a senior judge, who secretly runs a corrupt charity and spares absolutely no one who comes in her way. She doesn’t even hesitate to kill her dear friend nor does she show mercy for her long-time right hand man Ahn Oh Joo. She’s driven by her greed and can do anything to attain more power and money. In my personal opinion, her character and awesome screenplay is probably the only thing that makes the drama worth watching, as for me, both of the main leads could have portrayed themselves a lot better.
4. Kang So Young - School 2015
Tumblr media
Here comes another bully, Kang So Young from School 2015. Cha Soo Hyang plays this character of this spoiled teenager Kang So Young who finds great pleasure in bullying her orphan classmate, Eun Bi. Her bullying goes so far that Eun Bi is pushed to the verge of death. However, Kang So Young feels no remorse. As the drama goes, she gets even more evil as she does not show any sign of leaving Eun Bi alone. She does not even regret her choices and uses her parent’s power to get away with everything. However, at the end of the drama she reflects upon her choices and apologies to Eun Bi. But that does not mean her character is easily forgiven, am I right?
5. Choi Yoo Jin - The K2
Tumblr media
Here comes our last and my personal favorite pick, Choi Yoo Jin from The K2. Even though Yoo Jin’s character is not the villain but an antagonist, still she is a deserving candidate for this list. Song Yoon Ah plays the role of Choi Yoo Jin, who is a woman of mid 40s, she is also a daughter from a chaebol family but is disinherited. Her father disowned her because she married a politician. And guess what, that same husband, goes behind her back every night and cheats on her on a daily basis. She is also the CEO of JSS Security, which is responsible for her presidential candidate husband’s security. Her character certainly makes some bad choices, such as separating her step-daughter from her husband and using her constantly to blackmail the man, but she is the one to hurt the most as well.
Even though her relationship with her family and husband is dianted and she is mostly used for money, she gives her everything to keep his husband’s image spotless. She grows a fondness, dare I say romantic feelings, for Kim Je Ha (Ji Chang Wook) but that too is quickly shut down as the main female lead comes into the picture. All in all, she may seem to be an evil woman but she actually is a victim of fate and betrayal, which is understandable. Song Yoon Ah’s incredible acting and her on screen chemistry with Ji Chang Wook is one of the primary reasons why you should watch the drama if you have not already.
That was all for today, we will come with another recommendation post, sooner than you think.

A Gay Girl's Guide to Korean Musicals (with English subtitles!)
People often associate musicals with male gayness (both onstage and off) but there's stuff out there for female-oriented queers too! It's just harder to find, which is why I put this video together despite not knowing Korean.
This list isn't comprehensive and I deliberately chose musicals with either queer female characters or gender-free casting (i.e. female actors playing male roles), except for Bernarda Alba, which is special as it’s by far the largest-scale all-female production with 10 characters. Obviously there are many Korean musicals out there which don't meet these criteria and are still of interest to the queers, but I wanted to highlight these in particular as they are, apart from Rebecca, not as well-known. I highly recommend checking out @koreanmusicals for more information on Korean musicals generally!
Note: Again, I don’t understand Korean and relied heavily on machine translation and the original lyrics for licenced productions, so any errors in the subtitles or explanations are mine. Corrections are very welcome!
At-a-glance list:
1. Lizze (리지)

Kim Jung-hyun descends as a puppet after a fall…
Tumblr media
'Kokdu Season' Kim Jung-hyun appeared as a kokdu.
In MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Kokdu's Season', which aired on the 27th at 9:50 pm, Kkokdu (played by Kim Jeong-hyun) appeared for the first time in 99 years.
Han Geum-jeol (played by Lim Su-hyang), a specialist in emergency medicine, struggled after graduating from a local medical school and being insulted by her guardian for working at a rural hospital, and even getting involved in a medical lawsuit. She ended up having a conflict with her wealthy guardian and she was unfairly fired from the hospital. Han Keum-jeol was leaving the hospital and found her mother when she was about to fall. He left the flower ring and necklace and suddenly disappeared.
Later, Han Han-jeol met the man he was looking for at an interview at Pilseong Hospital. Kkokdu, whom Han Han-jeol met, was Professor Do Jin-woo of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Pilseong Hospital, and took a position as an interviewer at Pilseong Hospital. Do Jin-woo adopted the clause saying that a signboard was needed to save the patient, and Han-jeol entered Pilseong Hospital with Do Jin-woo's parachute.
Han Han-jeol then returned the flower ring necklace to Do Jin-woo. However, Do Jin-woo did not remember that he had saved the limit clause, and he did not even know the flower ring necklace.
Later, Han Han-jeol found out that he had been recruited to uncover the truth about Jang Mi-soon's (Jung Ah-mi) medical accident. Jang Mi-soon died during Do Jin-woo's cholecystitis surgery, and Do Jin-woo revealed that Ji Soo-yeon (played by Oh Yeon-ah) changed the CT scan before the surgery. In response, Ji Soo-yeon admitted her mistake and promised to testify in her medical malpractice lawsuit, but suddenly disappeared.
Do Jin-woo was convinced that Han Han-jeol had heard the conversation between director Kim Pil-soo (Choi Gwang-il) and Ji-su-yeon at Eonju Hospital, where Ji Soo-yeon was located, and asked Han Han-jeol for help. Han Han-jeol refused Do Jin-woo's request because he could only fly in the eyes of Pil-soo Kim, the director of Pilseong Hospital. Prior to this, Do Jin-woo, who revealed that he was an adopted child, confessed that Jang Mi-soon, who died in a medical accident, was her birth mother who abandoned him. As Do Jin-woo said, Han Han-jeol accidentally overheard the conversation between Kim Pil-soo and Ji Soo-yeon at the time, and informed Do Jin-woo that Kim Pil-soo had ordered Ji Soo-yeon to change the CT picture.
Han Han-jeol went to the courthouse to testify, and visited Do Jin-woo, who could not be contacted, and Do Jin-woo fell in front of Han Han-jeol and lost sight of death. Do Jin-woo said, “I’m sorry,” and closed his eyes, and Han Han-jeol sobbed and performed CPR.
At that moment, Do Jin-woo, who opened his eyes, woke up and changed his attitude, and strangled Han Han-jeol in anger, saying, "You would have said that you would kill the first person you see!" Do Jin-woo was watched by Oksin (Kim In-kwon) and Gaksin (Cha Jeong-hwa), and he descended after 99 years and was revealed as a puppet possessed by Do Jin-woo's body. Han Han-jeol, who did not know this, went looking for Do Jin-woo, who had disappeared.

There is a big incident that makes the heart pound to Kim Jung-hyun, the god of the underworld, and Lim Soo-hyang, the doctor of the visit. In MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama "The Season of the Puppet," which will premiere on the 27th, viewers will be immersed in a dreamlike excitement by depicting the dramatic first meeting between the God of the Underworld (Kim Jung-hyun) and the doctor of Wangjin (Lim Soo-hyang). "Season of the Puppet" is a fantasy romance drama in which a dead puppet who comes to this world every 99 years to punish humans with a mysterious ability meets the limitation of a visiting doctor. The story of the two men and women who will meet each other beyond the time of hell gives deep excitement and emotion. Amid growing interest in the interesting worldview, the photo released shows the green energy announcing spring and a puppet holding a cliff that almost fell on the stairs one day in full bloom of cherry blossoms in his arms. A fate that they never imagined would come to them. At this moment, when time stops and only the heart shakes violently, the limit clause cannot take its eyes off the top, feeling a dizzying excitement as if cells are awakened all over the body. On the other hand, no emotion can be read from the expression of the puppet holding the marginal clause. Rather, the god of the underworld, which does not save people, but kills them, helps the human limit, arousing ironic curiosity. The temperature of the expression is sharply divided, but the famous scene of the picturesque scenery is expected. I'm already looking forward to the "season of the top" to see what the story of the top and the limit clause facing the brilliant season will contain. MBC's Friday-Saturday drama "The Season of the Puppet," which makes you curious about the first meeting between a puppet full of excitement and Hangyuljeol, will premiere at 9:50 p.m. on January 27.

Kokdu: And the Most Clueless Award goes to…
…Han Gye-jeol in Kokdu. Like come on girl, it has been MORE than 10eps (I struggled), and your subconscious is already yelling at you that the person in front is NOT Do Jin-woo, but why are you still insisting and behaving as though he IS? I cannot… really. Any other female leads in other fantasy dramas would have smelled something is off from ep4 (max 5) onwards, given that this “Do Jin-woo”…
