The Linen Tank Top
One of my earlier and more ambitious crochet projects was this linen tank top with geometric surface stitching.

As I was still pretty new to crochet I struggled with working with the thin linen yarn and with doing such precise surface stitching. But I did it!

And in the end I'm pretty thrilled with how it turned out!

so far so good with these flat knit socks. unsure how long I'll make them before i turn the heels but really liking the colors of this scrap yarn im using up, very retina burning

rib is 2k2p, yarn is worsted weight acrylic because its what i had laying around. brand and colorway has been lost to time, and needles are USA size 5
i will say though. the yarn is 2x brighter irl it basically glows in the dark with how bright it is
#knitting#knitblr#enjoying how the yarn is striping. excited to turn the heels and then decrease for the toe boxes too#i dont really care about materials cause i mainly knit socks as stress relief but my next pair will be linen probably#cause ive got linen laying around that id like to use up at some point#these are pretty plush but they'll fit into my shoes so i dont particularly care#i dont really like knitting in the round so i figured out how to knit flat socks haha

Doing another wooly round up because I can and I'm super happy with how they all turned out!
The patterns are: Easy V by Caitlin Hunter, Rift by Jaq Cieslak, Retro Autumn Sweater by Off The Hook (crochet), Halibut by Caitlin Hunter, and Dreaming Cat by StuffTheBody (crochet)
#still don't know how to pose for photos#but i now own two pairs of nice jeans instead of one#and a skirt!#these were all made last year#not pictured are two cardigans and a top that i don't have pictures for#also I'd like to reiterate that although knitting can be horrifically expensive#that easy v is a 100% natural fibre cotton/linen blend and was only £16#and the tshirt was only a tenner#felt like i was committing a crime somehow#the halibut is my fav it makes me feel so cool wearing it#knitting#knitblr#yarn crafts#mcbcraft

Here's how the southdown babydoll/flax blend ended up. Excited to work with it altho not sure what to make. Iirc it's about 175 yards of 2 ply. Was gonna do a bag but I bet a hat would be nice too...
Spun on the espinner and plied on the treadle wheel. Depending on how it knits up, washes, and wears, I might make more of this kind of blend. It was very interesting and engaging to spin because of the very different staple lengths and crimpiness.

I wove this a few years ago - itās a short scarf in a Huck lace random pattern woven in linen and tencel. At 40epi and double at the selvedges itās the finest I have done. I want to repeat this but have doubts as to whether my eyesight is good enough!

tried on my lucky romper by lucky777loops that i finished in january YIPPEE !!!! not quite springtime-y enough to wear this outside and take cuter pictures but too excited not to share :-)) š±š±
#i found this pattern very easy to read AND easy to alter#mildly frustrating experience seeing as i had to undo and redo sections that i didnt measure correctly but oh wel#trying to decide if the very slight tightness under the arms bothers me enough to redo it.....#not yet#also i love this yarn so much#its linen/cotton blend and i cant wait to wear it in the SUN#šŖ²#knitting

Quoozies (queer coozies)

might post a real version on ravelry later, but just writing down a lazy version for right now:
Yarn: Big Twist Living
Color: "Inclusivity" [editor's note: š]
Hook: 5.75mm
ch 28
join to first chain to make a circle (make sure it doesn't twist)
sc around
linen stitch in a continuous spiral for about 18 rounds
do a linen stitch decrease (v loose) in a spiral for about 2 rounds to make the bottom
You're gonna have to periodically check the fit as you go, because it has to be within a pretty narrow range to actually work as a coozie without being too tight, so keep a can handy!

#also got some of the trans pride colors yarn and gonna do some of those#the first few I did were with waistcoat stitch and that works well too#this is just faster and easier and I really like how linen stitch looks with the rainbow yarn#crochet#patterns#posts#queer#ETA: for the waistcoat stitch ones I used a 6.5 mm hook

Finished a pair of socks for the first time in awhile? I think theyāre the ones I I started in my old post that I reblogged yesterday. I donāt remember if Iād picked a character or theme for the socks when I started them but the colorway fits the Jiang sect from MDZS, so I have Jiang sect socks now. I weaved in the ends and Iāll just have to take out the stitch markers and wash/block them before I can wear them.
And I finished the first of my Wen Ning socks, weaved in the ends and cast on the second sock. Done with the cuff, so if I can actually be consistent about about knitting and if Iāve the energy, after work, I can probably be done with the heel turn by the end of the week
#sock knitting#got two more pairs that have been progress for who knows how long#and a hair tie/sash/belt thing Iām knitting in linen#the linen is interesting but the sock yarn is more pleasant in a tactile way
