It was a rainy morning in the Zora Domain, 7 o’clock to be exact. The rain battered alongside the icy pathways, the waves crashed below. The King, Dorephan, sat on his throne, concerned due to the noises heard outside the domain. The King has summoned some of his attendants and soldiers, including Link, the Hylian Champion. The King voiced his concerns to the group, saying that the noises sound like an attack on the kingdom; possibly Vah Ruta and guardians back under Ganon’s control. Link volunteers to go inspect the area outside the domain, in Upland Zorana. Sidon burst through the archway.
Father! What horrible news! I have heard that Ganon is possibly attacking the kingdom again! It is preposterous! Let me know what I can do to protect the kingdom!,” the shark smiles, winking and flexing his bicep, his signature look. “My son. Perhaps you can swim down the river, and see what is in the Lananryu Wetlands, closer to Central Hyrule, near the entrance to our domain,” the King suggests. “Of course,” Sidon agrees, and bids a goodbye to Link, whom he did have relations with. Sidon would never admit due to his pride, that he had a soft spot for Hylians. They were so tiny, so soft. The opposite of him. Link was his best friend, and sometimes lover. Link was a beta, however. Sidon, as an alpha, really yearned for a Hylian that was an omega. He wanted to feel one, experience being with one. As biology said, alphas and omegas were made for each other, regardless of race in Hyrule. Same or interspecies, it did not matter. Yet, Sidon failed to find a female, omega, counterpart to his sweet Link’s beauty.
He waved to Link, telling him to be safe, before watching him use Revali’s Gale to fly up into Upland Zorana. Sidon swam down the river, watching as electric Lizalfos, electric chu-chus, and golden bokoblins prowled around the plains, at the side of the river. “So many monsters…,” he thought to himself, swimming faster, hoping not to run into them. He swam to the bridge at the outskirts of Tabahl Woods. He saw a crowd of Black moblins, shrieking, with Dragonbone weapons, attacking something on the ground. He looked a little closely, barely visible to the monsters. He saw that they were attacking a Hylian. A very small one at that. He growled, jumping onto the bridge, facing the moblins, and took a few of them out swiftly, using his muscles and sharp teeth.
After throwing the last moblin down into the waterfall, Sidon comes closer to inspect the Hylain, to see if they were okay. A sickeningly sweet smell has hit him. He crouched down, taking a closer look. A very small Hylian woman, laying on the bridge, gravely wounded. Her blood, her body, smelled so good to him… could it be? An omega?
He stops his dirty mind from trampling him, and gently picks up the Hylian. Placing her in his arms, he swims up the river as fast as he could, eager to get her into the domain, so she could be properly healed and taken care of.
He reaches the domain, swimming up the waterfall, careful not to drown the woman. “Somebody! Please help! I have found an injured Hylian!!,” he shouts, and at instant, a few other Zora take her away to heal with herbs, in the lower chambers of the kingdom. Sidon meets back with Link, glad that he is okay, giving him a few kisses as well.
“My Link. I think I have found an omega. What should I do?! I am a bit worried!!,” Sidon shouts at him, the little man looking at the shark with a smirk.
“See if the chemistry is right, when she wakes up. If it is, perhaps then you could mate with her, for real, unlike you and I,” Link sheepishly tells him.
“Yes! Link! You are amazing! A genius! An absolute marvel!!,” Sidon shouts at him, giving Link his signature smirk and wink, and hugging him before running off to check on the Hylian he just rescued.
“My dear. Are you okay?,” he leans over the woman, his large shadow covering her small one. She moans in pain, looking up at him. “I think I’m okay now, yes. Who are you?,” her voice was small and shy, quiet. She meekly looked at him with her beautiful green eyes. Sidon blushed, loving how soft her voice was.
“Quickly, young one. Tell me your name.” The woman tells him. “Lily.” “Ah. What a beautiful name that is. I am Sidon, Prince of the Zora. I was making my round down the Zora River, when I saw you being beaten by monsters on Inogo Bridge!!,” he exclaimed, clearly worried for the young woman.
“I should have been more careful,” the woman replied, slightly blushing.
——-
You had been beaten by Moblins, and were about to meet your end, when you feltl a strong presence lift you up, carrying you up the Zora River, up a waterfall. You did not know who that was, yet you were extremely grateful. You awoke to a beautiful Zorana leaning over you. His smile, his voice, his muscles. You loved it.
Best of all, it seemed like he was an alpha. You could tell right away. This is who you had been searching for.
You had been born in a Hylian village off the coast, Luteno Village, full of Betas. The only other Alpha in the village was already mated — to a Beta. They did not have heats, ruts, pheromones. Sometimes, you wished to be one of them. Oh how easier it would be. Omegas were weaker than most, softer. This did not do you any good, especially in the calamity — so many monsters around. What options did you have?
Therefore, you left your small, coastal fishing village in hopes of finding a mate, a lover. You traveled up the Zora River, into Shatterback Point, up mountains, in the rain, in a thunderstorm. The time could have finally come. You were positive that whoever saved you, this ‘Prince Sidon’, was an Alpha. Further, he was royalty.
The size difference between you two was massive. You nervously watched as his clawed hand rested near your body. His palm was the size of your entire arm.
“My dear. Are you alright? You look positively out of it,” the handsome prince spoke to you. You replied that you were, which then coincided with him asking what you were doing in the area.
“Well, you see, Prince Sidon, I came here to find a mate. In Luteno Village, most of the people are Betas — normal. I’m a little helpless on my own, you see, with the calamity and all. I’m not strong enough to fight these monsters. I don’t even think that Omegas and Alphas are common in all of the kingdom of Hyrule…,” you trail off, a bit sad.
The shark grinned back at you, with a knowing yet gentle smile. “My dear. You see, they aren’t that common in the land of Zora either. Alpha and Omega pairs used to be more common before the calamity. All of our Zorai, they are mated pairs, since we usually have very long life spans. Except for me, of course.”
You nod, starting to realize what he was implying. You were sure that he was able to sense the tension between you. You had read, in an old book your grandmother owned, written before the calamity, that just each other’s presence can indicate true love between an Alpha and Omega. You hoped that your late grandmother’s book was right.
“Lily. I want to ask you something, sweet pearl,” Sidon starts. Perhaps, once you feel better, I can show you around the village?,” his yellow eyes look hopeful, bashful, even. A prince, paying attention to you. You were over the moon, and so, you obliged.
—-
Just in a few days, the Zora had healed you. You spent more and more time with the Prince every day, whom you now called Sidon. After a week, Sidon had asked you to accompany him for a nightly swim. The two of you had started doing that ever since you had healed.
You loved how fast he was in the water, how gentle he was with you on his back. Most of all, you loved how big he was. <3
Sidon took you into the lake next to the domain, and up the Veiled Falls. The two of you sat on the luminous stone filled dock, tension between the two of you rising. Sidon tapped his sharp nails upon the dock, nervous on what to say.
“What is it?,” you asked, putting a concerned hand on his shoulder, which made him flinch. “My Pearl. Lily. I have gotten to know you over the past week or so. You are truly amazing! I have never met a Hylian such as yourself before! This is a personal question to ask..yet.. are you possibly looking for something more than safety , here in the Zora Domain?”
You wince, deciding to tell him the truth. “I came here to look for a mate, Sidon. I’m an omega. They aren’t very common after the calamity,” you look down as you say it. Perhaps he has an arranged marriage already.
“My Lily. I am so glad to hear you say that!” He looked enthusiastic suddenly. “You see, I am one of the only other Alphas in this town myself! Everyone else is male or female, just a Beta. You are right, sweet Pearl! How clever you are,” he praises you.
You blush as he compliments you. He moves a bit closer to you. His clawed hand gently holds your head. “You and I, my pearl. I think you’re the most adorable little Hylian I’ve ever seen. The fact that you’re an omega — that is just even more precious and intriguing to me. Be my mate, sweet pearl,” he gently asks of you, yellow eyes full of passion.
You agree, giggling as he brings you in for a kiss. He was gentle with you, although you could feel his sharp teeth grazing your lips. You kiss him back with passion, you feel your lip start to bleed because of his sharp teeth. The two of you are inextricably close now, and his two hands easily grip your hips, almost as long as your whole torso. He gently moves you closer to him, although you can feel his sharp claws pierce your soft tummy.
His smell, his lips, his eyes, all of it was intoxicating. In your grandmother’s book, you have read that those with ‘sexual variance’ (gender classified as omega or alpha — instead of male or female (what Betas had) have greater chances for passionate and intricate sexual and romantic relations. It was biology, after all.
You press your smaller body closer to him, your softness against his rougher skin. You traced your small hands over his torso, his wide shoulders <3 as you could feel him moan into your mouth. He pulls away for a second, manhandling you onto his lap, where you felt a rather big bulge forming already..<3
“You know, sweet one…I have always hoped to find someone with sexual variance… a little omega I could have all for myself, to love, to breed…,” his voice seemed much lower now, you swore you could hear a growl behind it. “Make me yours then,” you softly reply back, gazing into his yellow eyes.
He smirks, and then uses those strong muscles of his to pin you onto the ground. A trail of wet kisses is left all over your face, your neck, your breasts, which he cups so gently, mindful of his claws, your hips. He asks if he can take off your clothes. You nod, and he does so, careful not to rip them with his claws.
“My little grace smells so good for me,” he chuckles darkly. “That’s all you wanted, hmm? A strong alpha to come breed you, claim you…,” he whispers, his sharp teeth grazing your lips. You nod. “Please, Sidon. Want it, please…,” you beg him, doe eyes meeting his.
“You know, my little love…Zora actually have two cocks. I wonder how they’ll fit inside my Pearl…,” he chuckles, bringing you in for another kiss. There you were, caged in his arms, your small hands around his large, bulging biceps, and you can feel him start to grind into you for a bit, before his cocks spring up, all hard, veiny. You almost drool, yet you stop yourself.
You have read in your grandmother’s book that alphas have bigger cocks than betas, than omegas. They have superior strength too…
You stare in awe as the Zora runs his clawed hand over his cocks, over his ball sack, all full and ready to burst!! “Sidon. Please, want it in me,” you beg of him, pathetically reaching up to him like a little girl would to her father.
“I’ll give you anything you ask for, little Pearl. So sweet…,” he moans, and with that, you see him gently line up his two cocks to your already soaking, wet, pussy. You wonder how his sharp teeth would feel on it … <3
“Sidon. I’ve never.. never had this before…,” you tell him shyly. He reassures you with a few kisses. “I will be gentle, little love. You will get used to it, you will want more. Don’t know how long I have been waiting for an omega, all to myself,” his grin showcased his row of sharp teeth, scaring and making you want him more at the same time.
You were ready. He gently began to push his pulsating cocks into you. The stretch hurt, yet since you were wet, you were ready for him. You could take it. He pushed in little by little, and the deeper he went, the more delirious you got. His cocks just stuffed you up so perfectly!! <3
Your eyes met his, your soft hands ran alongside his cheeks, his fins on his head. He has you in a mating press, and you could swear you were seeing doubles from how nicely his cocks filled you. Your eyes began to roll back into your head, as you drift away from the world, and solely focused on the moment: him.
“My sweet Pearl. Doing so well, my love. Taking these big cocks so nicely, can’t wait to breed you, my Pearl, have you carry my heir…,” he moaned out, just as delirious as you were. You were his prey, to be caught, bred, owned by him!! “Please, my prince, Sidon, please!!,” you squealed, eager to agree to everything he was saying, due to how earth shatteringly amazing you felt right now.
“Mate me. Claim me. Please, sir,” you beg him, a moment of clarity in your delirium. He smirks in response, giving you a little (sharp) love bite on your shoulder. “My pleasure, my little love.”
He starts rutting into you, faster, your little body shakes and you have to hold onto him as tightly as you could muster, burying yourself in the crook of his neck. You see stars, with his throbbing cocks inside you, you’ve never felt something be so right. You feel them twitch, and with screams from the both of you, you come at the same time.
You feel his hot seed spill into you, filling you.
You fall asleep in his arms after a bit of cuddling, and he gently takes you back to the Domain, to the palace, into his private chambers. You were his now. His mate, his little grace.
Author's note: Enjoy everyone! Let me know if I should make a part two, or maybe a sidlink fic!! Pls reblog and help a writer out!! <3

Ok so ive been on a hyrule warriors age of calamity kick recently and i have to know , if iliana were to be in hyrule warriors would her play style be a mixture of revali and kid link from og hyrule warriors? And would her whole thing be she travels back with sidon in the dlc? ( and gets miphas blessing while shes at it *wink wink*)
Tumblr media
I haven’t seen OG Hyrule Warriors yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was. 🤔 Revali and Kid Link sounds like a good mash up for her.
She would end up in the past a bit differently than the new Champions, having been playing the Ocarina and accidentally playing the Song of Time. The second she got the notes right Hylia would yeet her into the past, lol. She would definitely get Mipha’s blessing after the truth is revealed.
And yesss!!! The second Iliana sees Link she’s gonna run up and hug him because she missed her little brother/best friend and he’s just… not going to know who she is. Iliana is gonna be very heartbroken but also would kind of get it? But mostly heartbroken because not only does he not recognize her, but he’s also clearly locking his emotions away.
Link is keeping the burden on his shoulders alone, and is suffering, refusing to let others help. And that’s what hurts her the most.

Hyrule High School
Promotional fiction for @zelquiwi ‘s fanart on Twitter
Chapter 1
Zelda said goodbye to her ballet coach and stepped out into the sultry evening sun. A cooling breeze blew into her face and dried her sweaty face. She undid her braid and let the breeze blow through her hair. Zelda relaxed mentally and walked along the pavement. Bicyclists sped past her, twirling her white polka-dotted red summer dress. She shyly held her hem so as not to expose too much, as the dress only covered half of her thigh. She wore a white short shirt under her dress, white sporty shoes and a small bag with her ballet clothes.
The roar of cars and motorbikes deafened her ears, pedestrians shouted at each other, the paths were too crowded. Fathers and mothers with prams and people in wheelchairs were disregarded and jostled.
Dogs barked at each other while being held back with difficulty by their owners.
Zelda found the chaos too much, so she decided to take a diversion today, away from the main roads.
Fascinated, she watched the retro facades of the narrow streets, the colourful hubbub of the restaurants and the welcome invitations from the waiters to take Zelda to the restaurant. She smiled off gratefully and walked briskly along the paths.
She loved to stroll the streets after her hard ballet practice before returning home bored. As the 15-year-old pubescent daughter of a diplomat and a lawyer, the highest discipline was expected of her. It was tough, but she couldn't complain as it opened many doors for her.
When Zelda finally arrived at her front door, she sighed loudly. She knew the summer holidays were coming to an end and with it her freedom to devote herself fully to her hobbies.
Zelda moved gracefully through the corridors of the school to her classroom in her white blouse, navy blue school uniform blazer and matching skirt and was greeted warmly by her classmates, although she treated everyone equally, she felt most comfortable in the presence of her best friends Impa and Purah. The two were siblings with a year's difference, though they could be as different as night and day. While Purah was older than Impa, she was still a bright and fashionable model student in science. Impa, on the other hand, was the more sensible of the two, very well-versed in languages, politics, history and the subject of Hylia's teachings. While Zelda excelled in all subjects, the poor marks in the teachings of Hylia cast a mocking shadow over her report cards every time.
While Mipha, Robbie and Revali joined them, they were talking about their experiences of the summer holidays when the other students suddenly fell silent. It was still too early for one of the teachers, so the troop turned around curiously.
A young man about their age with blond spiky hair tied back stood in front of the blackboard and greeted everyone curtly.  He stood there with his chest erect and sporting clothes, scratching the back of his head nervously.
" Are you lost Link?" asked Revali mockingly.
"Revali don't be so rude. I hope you are all right." intervened Mipha. A girl who was always sweet and polite to everyone.
"Where the heck have you been all these holidays!" blurted out Impa.
"I'm fine, thanks," Link said, giving Mipha a smile without bothering to give Revali a glance. "I've been helping out in the countryside all summer." His gaze drifted from Impa to Zelda, who paid him no attention. "Hope you didn't miss me too much." He winked at Paya , Impa's and Purah's cousin, who blushed every time Link flirted with her.
He immediately noticed that the rest of the girls were also looking in his direction, whispering and giggling amongst themselves. They couldn't be blamed, because Link had an attractive charisma, fascinating blue eyes, an athletic figure and above all something mysterious about him, which was attractive to many girls.
"Don't pretend you'll be missed, you poor beggar have to sweep up cows' shit on your farm."
He whirled around and stared renegade at Revali, running towards him, but when both grabbed each other by the collar, Sakasai intervened while Cado and Dorian held them back.
"The holidays are only over, yet you are feuding blood. Let's enjoy this year peacefully!", Sakasai soothingly talked to them. His poetic expression was able to melt even ice-cold icebergs.
Just when the situation had defused, the bell rang for the start of class and the teacher, Mr Daruk, entered the room.
"Link, Revali. As soon as you make eye contact, you bark like dogs fighting for territory in the street. I have a new seating plan here that will make sure you two sit far apart."
Mr Daruk was the linguistics and labour teacher. He was dark-skinned, broad-shouldered, with a muscular chest and a round beer belly. His white hair pointed in all directions and his full white beard went down to his stomach. He always prepared us, apart from the lessons, for the hard life after school. For which Link was particularly grateful, as he had to struggle especially hard in his neighbourhood.
"Revali, you will sit in the front row next to Mipha. Sakasai, please sit next to Paya. Link, you will sit next to Zelda." As an indignant murmur went through the class, the teacher thumped the teacher's desk, creating a silence that had never existed before. "I demand discipline! Now sit down at your assigned seats. You will see that you and your new neighbours will complement each other. Now to the order of the day..."
As he sat down, he felt how uncomfortable it was to sit next to Zelda, as she obviously couldn't stand him.
Therefore, he slid as far as he could to the edge of his chair so as not to get too close to her.
Link barely caught what the teacher was saying, he was too taken with her closeness. To keep a clear mind, he pulled his hood over his head and rested his head on his arms, which were folded on the table. He sighed. It was going to be a busy day at school, he thought to himself.
"Hey bro, you alright? Up for basketball?" asked Sidon, who was his best friend, despite the fact that he was in a different class from his year. He was a hunk and towered over him by several heads. He had red hair, like his sister Mipha, but gold-shimmering eyes. Despite his imposing and intimidating manner, he was the most likeable Hylian he knew.
"Ayyo Bro, how you doin'? Throw me the ball!"
Link took off his hoodie and bared his muscular torso. He wanted to clear his head and stop thinking about how annoyed Zelda was at his presence. He wasn't even sure why she was and assumed she was looking down on him with her domineering appearance.
The mere fact that he had put his head down on the table and was boredly playing with his pens made her breathe an annoyed sigh and tap her foot impatiently. She was also the first to immediately pack up her utensils and disappear out the door without giving him a glance.
While he was shooting baskets with his best buddies, he was joined by the rest of his friends, including Cado and Dorian, one slim and athletic, the other broadly built. More boys gathered around him, whom he knew from his neighbourhood or from his sports clubs. He greets them all with a handshake and a brotherly hug: a fist to the brother's shoulders. This is how they signal solidarity and friendship to each other.
Sometimes they were joined by Impa, who would then go up against the boys and single-handedly finish them off in every game. Impa was a girl Link liked to have around because she was unbeatable. She was like a second sister to him, whom he respected and wanted to protect at the same time.
But when Link looked out for her, he found her agog with Zelda Purah and Paya discussing something and smirked. He could only guess what they were so animatedly discussing at the moment.
"Phew, Link put some clothes on, your armpits stink big time."
Abruptly Link's mood changed, as if someone had hit him in the head with a shovel.
"It only started to smell when you got here, Revali."
The young Revali was not much taller than Link, had his hair braided into a boxer braid while two white dyed strands hung out of his braided hair. He had the eye shape of a snake and his eye colour and character were just as venomous. He was always out to make Link's life difficult and to flaunt his parents' wealth.
"Do you want to mess with me? You street dog have nothing to say to me, is that clear?" said Revali provocatively. Just like Link, he was surrounded by his boys waiting to bash each other's heads in.
"You can't do anything but play hardball, come on get lost with your wannabe gangsters."
A horde of girls from different years, cheered Link's and Revali's names as if it was some kind of competition.
Link wrinkled his nose contemptuously and stared renegiously into Revali's eyes. As a final sign of warning.
Sidon noticed the sparkling fire in the eyes of the two rivals and walked between them and stood protectively in front of Link.
"Hey yo bro, how about we settle this problem between you with a contest".
The girls who were just now cheering and gushing for Revali or Link were now screeching Sidon's name together as if his presence could put all disputes aside.
"A competition? Only if I choose the discipline. ", Revali said, but Link was about to intervene when his best friend held him back.
"We will choose three disciplines. Everyone will get one discipline they are particularly good at, while the third will remain neutral. Okay?" asked Sidon. Link nodded in agreement. Now it was up to Revali.
"On one condition, we're going to put this competition out to the whole school so everyone can watch me kick the shit out of that son of a bitch."
"Be careful what you say, we don't want your ego to be hurt anymore." Countered Link and turned away. It was already a foregone conclusion for him that he had to face his rival and win.
Zelda watched the action of the rival boys while Impa and Purah argued about which motto would be more appropriate as a house party. She squinted over at the silent Paya looking distressed at the tense troop of boys on the basketball court. Zelda followed her gaze and immediately understood her expression. It was Link, who moved away from the group and sat down on a wooden bench, running his hands through his hair.
"Paya, go to him. He will be very happy to receive emotional affection from a pretty girl, like you. He might fall in love with you after all," Zelda said hopefully.
She shyly looked Zelda in the eye and turned bright red in the face. Purah and Impa interrupted their discussion and listened in wonder.
"That's right, Paya! Go get him!" Purah, Paya's eldest cousin, motivated her. Everyone knew that Paya was crazy about Link but was too shy to talk to him.
When Paya finally decided to go to him, Impa was about to stop her, but Zelda and Purah held her back. Impa didn't like it, because she knew Link very well and also knew what his heart was like. Her gaze rested on Zelda, who was looking contentedly behind Paya. Maybe she had to get involved after all and a house party by the pool would be the best option.

Shadows of Hyrule | Chapter 20
Link didn't care much for sporting events, nor did he care much about having any school pride, but the game gave him an excuse to avoid going home and, furthermore, avoid his heroic responsibilities. Still, Daruk, Revali, Teba, and Riju all cheered ecstatically as each goal was made. Link and Yunobo continued to stuff their faces with popcorn, Link only casually listening in to the conversation the girls were having behind him. As female conversations would go, it was rather uninteresting.
When the game came to its thrilling conclusion, the students cheered for their school's victory. The players shook hands on the field before cheering with their teammates, and after a few minutes more, the bleachers began to empty out. Link and his friends followed suit, the evening breeze cooling their faces as they strolled across the parking lot. They said their goodbyes before making their separate ways; Teba and Revali in Revali's sports car, Daruk and Yunobo in Daruk's Jeep, and Urbosa and Riju in Urbosa's Explorer. Not long after their departure, the town car pulled up for Zelda, and she bid Mipha and Link a good night before sliding into the car with the tinted windows.
“So,” Link started as they made their way down the street towards home. “What are we doing this weekend?”
“We?” Mipha repeated. “I don't know about you, but I'm -”
“Doing homework?” Link said with a grin. “Studying?”
Mipha sighed. “Yeah.”
Link nodded. “Cool. Got room in that exciting schedule for me?”
Mipha hesitated. “I dunno. Why?”
“Because I need to ace this next test if I want to pass math.”
Mipha rolled her eyes. “You're actually going to study?”
“Yeah, I guess so. Nothing else going on.”
“That's the spirit,” she muttered.
“Are you still mad at me?”
Mipha glanced at him quickly. “No.”
He held his gaze on her for a moment, then seemed satisfied with her answer. He shoved his hands in the pockets of his hoodie and looked up at the night sky.
“Zelda told me that there's nothing going on,” she said with a one shouldered shrug.
“You believe her over me?”
“Well, yeah.”
Link pushed her shoulder playfully.
“The Princess has high standards. She wouldn't sleep with any failing schmuck.”
“All the more reason to lie about it,” he said with a wink.
“Whatever,” Mipha said. “Like I said. I don't care.”
“Why not?”
Mipha met his gaze, her brows knit together. “Am I supposed to?”
They had stopped walking. Link held her gaze on her, but said nothing.
Mipha's brows furrowed. “What?”
Link shrugged and continued on, leaving Mipha to catch up to him. “I guess not.”
Mipha watched the ground as she walked beside Link, her mind wandering. What could he have possibly meant by that?
“So,” Link started, “you'll help me this weekend?”
“Sure.”
They stopped in front of Mipha's. Link turned to her, throwing her two finger guns. “You're the best.”
Mipha rolled her eyes. “I know.” She made her way toward the house. “I'll text ya later,” she called over her shoulder, then, before slipping into the house, “Thanks for walking me home!”
Link watched as the door closed behind her, then continued down the road towards his own house. He fished his phone out of his pocket when he felt it vibrate and squinted in the light at the text from Mipha.
Night :)
He smiled down at the phone as he typed his goodnight reply to her.
*****
Link held the notebook above his face, laying flat against Mipha's bed. He turned it to the side, then upside down, his brows furrowed as he stared at the equations.
“Stop being so dramatic,” Mipha said, sitting at her desk. She was looking down at her textbook, the end of the pen in the corner of her mouth.
Link peered at her, catching her as she chewed on the cap, and smiled. When she turned and met his gaze, he quickly looked back at the notes.
“I'm not being dramatic,” he said with a sigh. “Math sucks.”
Mipha looked passed him and out the window. The rain was falling heavily. In that moment, the room was very quiet. Sidon was still out at his swim meet, and her parents were at some work thing; they were never very forthcoming with her. Regardless, she was suddenly very aware that they were alone. Not that it mattered.
“Whatcha thinking about?”
Mipha jumped and met Link's gaze. She turned quickly back to her textbook and let her head rest in her palm in an attempt to hide her reddening cheeks. “Math,” she muttered.
“You are such a loser,” Link said with a grin.
“Whatever.”
Link pushed himself upright, leaning against the wall in the corner of the bed. He let the notebook fall open on his lap and he flipped casually through the pages. “We should get dinner after.”
Mipha chewed on her pen, but she was no longer studying the equations. She stared ahead at her laptop screen. “Dinner?”
“You know, that time of day where people eat food.”
Mipha's brows furrowed. Goddesses, he could be infuriating. “I know what dinner is.”
“You do owe me,” he pointed out. “I bought you coffee.”
“Dinner is a lot more expensive than coffee,” Mipha said.
“Fine,” Link said. “But you still owe me.”
“Since you got here,” Mipha began, “you've raided my fridge, took a nap, called Daruk, raided my fridge some more, stared at the ceiling, and now you're asking about dinner. Have you even looked at the notes?”
Link grinned. “Yeah, I looked at them.”
“So what's an absolute value?”
“A value that's absolute.”
Mipha rolled her eyes. “You're an idiot.”
“So, for dinner, I was thinking tacos.”
“I thought you were going to try?”
“I did,” Link said proudly. “I got a B- on that make up test.”
Mipha closed her textbook and met his gaze, brow raised skeptically. “You did?”
“So, tacos?”
Mipha stretched her arms above her head. She glanced at the clock on her desk. Everyone would be home soon, and she supposed Link wasn't about to drop the subject of dinner. “Alright,” she said, giving in. “Tacos.”
Link pushed himself off the bed, pulling his shoes on as he hopped to the door. He stumbled through as he opened it. “Last one there pays,” he called over his shoulder.
In just under fifteen minutes, Link stood in front of his favorite taco truck, taco in hand, and Mipha found herself handing over the money for their dinner. Link draped an arm around her shoulders as they walked down the street, tacos in hand.
“Thanks for dinner,” he said with a wink.
“Yeah, whatever,” Mipha muttered. She glanced him as he happily shoved his taco into his mouth. “So, what are we doing tomorrow?”
“Nothing,” he said. “I'm busy.”
She cocked a brow. “Busy? Doing what?”
“Studying,” Link said with a grin.
“Yeah, right,” Mipha said, rolling her eyes. “You couldn't even do that today.”
“I had stuff on my mind,” he said as he took another bite.
“Didn't seem like it,” she said through the corner of her mouth.
“Well, I'm studying extra hard tomorrow.”
“That's unlike you.”
“I've been busy lately,” he added. “I can't skate by like I usually do.”
“Maybe you should drop karate.”
Link finished his taco, then proceeded to lick at his fingers. “I wish.”
“Why don't you?”
Link shoved his hands in his pockets and kept his gaze to the horizon. “I dunno.”
“It doesn't seem like you like it very much.”
Link only grunted in response.
“If you don't like it, forget about it,” Mipha pressed. “It's not a big deal.”
“It... I can't.” He felt her gaze on him and his brows knit together. “Can we talk about something else?”
Mipha watched him curiously for a moment before pulling her gaze away. “Okay,” she said slowly. “Sorry.” They walked on in silence for a few moments before Mipha spoke again, her voice softer. “You'd tell me if something was wrong, right?”
Link shrugged with one shoulder. “Sure.”
“Is there something wrong?”
Link frowned. “I wish I got another taco.”
Mipha rolled her eyes and smiled. “Maybe if you get a good grade on the test this week,” she said. “My treat.”
“Bribery, huh?” Link nodded. “That works for me.”

The Mark of Destiny Ch. 15 (A SidLink AU)
Chapter 15: Memory Tickled
Trees whizzed past the car window as Link sat in the passenger seat, eyeing the scenery around him. The morning had been not really a pleasant one but noting this Linkle had volunteered to take him out for the day.
And seeing as Sidon had to leave for work at the last moment to pick up a shift, plus things were a little tense between them now that he had kissed the redhead again which left Link feeling awkward, plus he didn't want to be alone, going out with his sister seemed like next best solution rather than sitting alone in his room with his thoughts.
“Where are we going to go?” Link asked her. He felt bad that she was driving but he didn't trust himself to even cook himself a meal for himself let alone how to drive a car properly. He knew basic functions but some things were just not coming back to him.
“Well I thought it would be a good idea to show you one of your passions,” Linkle responded with a warm smile.
“Passions?” he asked.
Linkle only smiled as she pulled in front of their dancing school. Link looked up the the building as he climbed out of the car slowly.
It was a decent size for a school, a large building with the name of the dance studio plastered right on the front.
“Do we know her?” he asked pointing to the sign curiously as Linkle stepped out next to him on the curb.
“Yep. We have known Cyra for a very long time. Actually we just found out that she is Sidon's cousin. Small world huh,” Linkle added, resting her hand on his arm. “Did you want to go in and say hi to her?”
Link hesitated at first. It was another person that he had to meet all over again that he was meant to know already.
“We don't have to if you don't want to. We can go do something else,” Linkle said quickly, seeming to wilt next to him but Link quickly shook his head. He did wonder if he always could read his sister's mood like this. Either it was a twin brother thing or it was that she wore her emotions right on the surface.
“No, I should say hello to her again. Maybe it'll jog something in here,” Link said, tapping the side of his head.
The smile quickly returned to Linkle's face and she grabbed hold of his hand, pulling him in through the glass doors of the building.
It was mostly empty except for a few students here and there. That was normal after a recent performance. The students always had the chance to get a break from learning new pieces for a few weeks, but in those few weeks they were still expected to come in a few times to make sure they were still in good shape and ready to go.
Well everyone except for the twins. An extended break was given to them right now until things became better.
“So...this is where we learned to dance?” he asked, gazing at himself in the mirror once they were in the main room.
The sight before him scared him. His skin was pale his hair seeming to lack luster. And the cherry on top of it all was the bandage that had been freshly placed over his injury.
This was not the man he was supposed to be. He was not supposed to be scared, looking as if he hadn't eaten in a week.
He wanted to be the person everyone wished he was. A loving brother, a wonderful best friend, a fantastic dancer, and a match to the one person who had made him feel comfortable...that is until Link felt like he had messed it up the night before.
“Every lesson we have learned since we started,” she said looking at herself from the side in the mirror and rest her hand on her small stomach.
Link turned away from his reflection and looked about the room. Music sounded over the loud speaker, giving a nice vibe to the place.
The longer he stood there it was harder to see himself as he was now moving about in the mirror to watch as he moved.
“There are my two favorite dancers,” came Cyra's voice from her office, approaching the two with open arm, pulling them into a gentle hug.
A different sort of greeting than what she was used to doing but due to Link's condition she didn't want to startle him too much.
“Link, this is Cyra,” Linkle introduced to him.
“How are you two feeling?” she asked, looking at the both of them as if she was going to cry. Link shifted uncomfortably but still gave a nice smile.
“I'm feeling alright. Head doesn't hurt that much anymore,” he replied.
“That's wonderful. Soon you'll be fully on your feet in no time,” she said happily, the song on the radio above them switching. Linkle gave Cyra a knowing glance but didn't say anything as Link listened to the soft melody.
The two ladies slipped into a conversation about the baby, Link slowly tuning them out as he stepped closer to the mirrors on the wall.
What was it...about this melody that had him feel just moving his body in certain ways? As if the music was taking control of him...
He let his eyes fall closed, taking a few steps back from the mirror wall and listened closer to the melody.
That was when his body started to move on its own.
His arms and legs in slow sensual movements, hands grasping in the air as if he was dancing with...someone else. It felt natural this way but also different. It felt as if he was meant to have a dancing partner for this.
Someone tall, strong, holding him against his body and guiding him in such a way that left him breathless.
The talking around him died down, though he whisked himself into the melody, not even noticing that he was being watched.
It felt natural and fun, something his body was used to. It was a relief that his body still knew what to do despite that he had no idea what the next step was.
The song came to an end and Link finally opened his eyes, watching as his body was shaped in a particular position.
A small bit of applause came from behind him and he quickly straightened himself, flushing darkly as he looked to his sister and Cyra.
“What?” he asked embarrassed.
Linkle came closer, taking her brother's hand.
“We'll show you,” she said.
*
“I don't understand, why is so important that I watch this?” Link asked as Cyra pressed play on her computer. The two didn't reply and pointed to the screen.
Link watched quietly his eyes widening as he saw....himself walk onto the stage dressed in a sultry outfit. And across the stage came the tall redhead that had been by his side since he had woken up from his slumber.
Sidon.
There it was. That same music from before in front of the mirrors. Link sat up further in his seat, his eyes following every movement that the him on the screen did.
The same exact ones he had just done in front of the mirror by himself. But the one on the screen was much more fluid with his partner.
The dance was erotic and sexy, bringing heat to Link's cheeks as he watched their bodies move together.
“What is this?” Link asked, pulling his eyes away from the screen to look up at the two of them.
“That was the dance performance that happened a few weeks ago. You and Sidon did a wondrous job with that dance, leaving so many in awe,” Cyra said with a happy sigh as she watched the screen with a warm smile.
Linkle knelt down a little next to him. “That dance you had done just before...was this same one. You remembered something.”
Link's eyes widened at that and he grinned. He had to tell Sidon.
*
The smell of chlorinated water hit his nose quickly as he stepped into the pool area. Several people bobbed up and down in the water, laughing and playing.
Though Link's eyes sought out Sidon. Ontop of the life guard stand he sat in nothing but a pair of red swim trunks and whistle around his neck.
Link's mind drifted to the dance video he had seen and he flushed a bit. He had to tell Sidon. He wasn't sure why he was the first person he had thought of but once he had  received the news that he had recalled something, all he could think about was getting to him to tell him. Thankfully Linkle agreed to drop him off.
Upon seeing the small blonde Sidon waved to him, motioning for him to come closer to the life guard stand.
Link approached, being careful of the water on the side of the pool. Sidon was just coming down from the side when Link arrived.
“Hey,” the redhead said happily. “What brings you here? I thought you were spending the day with Linkle.”
“I was,” Link replied, taking a small step forward. “There's just something that came up that I think is very important.”
“What is it?” he asked.
Link parted his lips to tell him when another man in red swim trunks approached. “I'll take over Sidon. Boss said you're done for the day.”
“Thanks,” Sidon said to him, giving his full attention to Link then. “What's the good news? Have you remembered something?”
“Yes,” Link said. “Just hearing a song had me remembering the performance we had done together weeks before my accident.”
Sidon's grin widened and he pulled Link quickly into his arms, spinning him a moment before setting him on his feet.
“That's fantastic! I'm so glad you had remembered something. You want to know what? We should celebrate. Follow me, I just need to wash the chlorine off and then we can go out for some ice cream. I can reintroduce you to your favorite,” Sidon declared happily.
Link's smile remained on his face and he followed after him to the locker rooms. The room was empty, making Link relax as he took a seat on the bench near the showers. Sidon tossed a towel over his shoulder and gave Link a small wink before stepping into the shower cubicle, pulling the curtain closed behind him.
Link kicked his feet, looking around the locker room curiously as Sidon started his rinse down. Though the sound dragged Link's eyes to the curtain.
Sidon hadn't shut it all the way, leaving a gap where Link could see clearly inside. His cheeks heated up as his eyes quickly averted.
What was he doing, he couldn't look at him like this.....but wait...why couldn't he? Sidon was his match and aside the awkwardness of what happened last night he wanted to experience things again with him. As well as his body.
He rose from his spot on the bench, taking slow steps as he approached the shower Sidon was in. His body heat rose, his hand shaking a bit as he grabbed the curtain and pulled it open.
Sidon quickly turned around. “Link, what are you doing?”
Taking a deep breath Link stepped into the small shower and closed the curtain completely behind him. His other hand rose, resting on the back of Sidon's neck as he pulled him down into a warm kiss, his small body pressing against him.

Soft Petals, Chapter II
Here it is! I finally finished the next chapter of Soft Petals, and I hope you enjoy it!
The camp was quiet as Link and Zelda approached it, the last embers of the fire struggling to remain ablaze as the night began to envelop it. Link, having long since lit a torch from his pack, attempted to relight the fire and succeeded in getting a small, warm flame that bathed the surrounding tents in a gentle glow. Taking off her pack, Zelda sat down on a log near the fire and let out an exhausted sigh.
Their trip had taken longer than she had anticipated, and she was glad to be back in the safety of camp. Monsters hadn’t been nearly as much of a problem since the Calamity had been defeated, especially since the disappearance of the Blood Moon meant they no longer reappeared after death, but they still roamed the lands and could be dangerous if ran into while unprepared. Not that Link was ever unprepared, but she still worried. She’d lost too much already, and she wasn’t about to lose Link too. He mattered too much to her.
The princess and the swordsman had become close over the last few months, to the point where things had become romantic between them. They believed they had managed to keep it quiet, but they were much less subtle than they thought. All of their friends could tell plain as day that the two were romantically involved, and they definitely weren’t the quietest when they shared a bedchamber. But out of respect for the heroes, and because it was infinitely funny to watch them try and pretend they weren’t a couple, people like Impa and Bolson kept quiet and chuckled to themselves.
Link sat down next to Zelda and she put her head on his shoulder, prompting him to kiss the top of it as he handed her a plate of food he had prepared from stuff in the meal pack. He watched as her eyes lit up at the sight of the small piece of cake he had packed specifically for her, smiling as she scarfed down the rest of the meal so she could get to it faster. He considered it very lucky that he had managed to find her favorite recipe sitting in a book in the castle’s ruined library. The smile that broke across her face the first time he surprised her with it was a sight burned into his mind forever, a memory he would cherish for the rest of his life.
Link frowned. How often before his hundred years’ sleep had he thought the same thing? How many unforgettable memories had escaped from his consciousness while he slept? They seemed to be slowly returning to him, but he had no way of knowing how many would eventually come back. Even more worrisome, he had no idea how many of his memories were truly memories and how many were simply creations of his own mind, conjured up to fill in the gaps with something – anything – to keep himself sane.
He shook his head fervently, clearing the fog from his mind. No sense in worrying about that. Better to enjoy his life now and make new memories to cherish. He was young still. Not technically, he supposed, as it had been well over 100 years since his birth, but he retained his pre-Calamity 19-year-old body and mind. He had plenty of time to enjoy all that life had to offer, and now that he had Zelda by his side again he felt like not a single second of his life was a waste.
Zelda gave Link a quick peck on his cheek.
“Thank you for making dinner, hero.”
She stood up, taking his empty plate from him and setting the two near the rest that had been discarded by their traveling companions.
“Now what do you say we get to bed, huh?” she asked, reaching her hand out to him with a wink.
Link grinned, taking her hand as she pulled him along towards her tent.
“Tonight,” she whispered, “you can stand watch from inside.”
Paya stood beneath a tree on a hill just outside of camp, her eyes fixed on the couple as they entered Zelda’s tent. She’d been standing watch for the camp for a couple hours now, her Sheikah stealth armor helping to keep her hidden from any monsters or passersby. She had a soft, sad smile on her lips as she watched the princess and her swordsman flirt. She loved Link, that much she knew, and she couldn’t deny that her heart ached to see him with someone else, but she did her best to support the two’s romance. They deserved each other, really. Link and Zelda had been through so much together, had been so irreversibly entwined since long before she was born, and they seemed genuinely happy together. For now she would give them all the support and friendship they would take, as being close to them and being their friend mattered more than anything to her. She cared just as deeply for Zelda as she did for Link, and they had welcomed her into their circle with open arms.
Paya had to admit that it was intimidating being friends with royalty, and that wasn’t limited to just the Hyrulean royals. Since becoming a part of Link and Zelda’s friend circle she had been introduced to the leaders and elders of all the races in Hyrule, and she often found herself blushing with nervousness whenever one addressed her personally. The Gerudo especially turned her beet red with embarrassment, as she wasn’t used to wearing such revealing clothes – especially around Link - and being around so many strong and beautiful women. Prince Sidon, on the other hand, had managed to get her out of her shell after just a few minutes, and in him she found a fast friend. They both cared deeply for Link, albeit in different ways, and Sidon’s enthusiasm for life was contagious to the point where Paya found herself being more social and less jumpy around everyone.
Where Paya thrived, however, was the silence of nature. She enjoyed being alone with her thoughts, and being on watch gave her plenty of time for that. She had volunteered to go along with the princess’ company in order to fulfill what she felt was her duty to serve the crown, just as her grandmother and their ancestors had for generations. She also had wanted a chance to spend more time with Link, but that was neither here nor there.
Paya heard a playful giggle from the direction of Zelda’s tent and shook her head with a smile. She pulled her mask back up over her mouth and turned to resume her patrol, the moon reflecting gently off her silver hair as she walked silently into the night.

1 hour Ficlet batch 5 #6
The Dice roll for this was; heads, 2,2,1,2. A lovely Zelda and Link Story. I love these two and I honestly think Zelda isn’t at all treated fairly in most of the fandom. I love the girl.
If you like this story or any of the other 1 hour ficlets, please consider sending in a prompt.
How to Ruin a Ruin
The crash was probably deafening if Zelda wasn't still quite some distance from where link managed to go straight through one of the wall of the ruin they had discovered in one of the outskirts of the late kingdom of Hyrule.
Zelda started to run down the hill hoping to find her champion in a less than messed up way, she had seen more than enough injuries on him to last both of them a lifetime.
“Link, please let me know you are still alive. I would feel horrid to have to sent a notice to that fiance of yours to have to tell him that you can't marry him after all.” Zelda grins when she sees a shield being waved above the bricks that had not been in such a disarray only an hour before.
“Good. Now tell me how to get to you. I fear you caused so much distress to this poor wall that it will tumble right on top of you if I try to use the opening you so gracefully created for me.”
A soft snorting sound lets her know that her champion, her knight, her best friend, and the only other person who knew what she went through, was still very much enjoying himself.
The shield was lifted up again, and jerked left twice, up once, and then a short twist right. After that there was some odd hopping movement Zelda just hoped meant that she needed to jump over some rumble and not that parts of the floor were missing.
Once she gets to the part of the building Link's lying, with one of his legs stuck under the remains of the wall he demolished, it becomes clear it was neither of that.
“Oh Hylia! Why did you not tell me you booby-trapped this place the last time you were here. How in Hylia's name am I supposed to get to where you are without triggering this all.”
Link waves at her for a moment then makes it clear he still remembers how he placed them, and that he is fairly certain that he even remembers how to avoid them.
'Really Zelda, you just have to trust me for a moment.' he grins at her when she lets out a sigh and rolls her eyes at him with a soft grin. 'You are right that was exactly what I said before surfing down on my shield, but you have to agree it was fun.'
It takes him only two weird pouty faces before Zelda finds herself in a fit of giggles. She tries, she honestly tries to keep a composure but who can when he's acting like that.
“I can not see how Sidon manages to ever get anything done when you are around.” She passes the first booby trap, taking a quick photo with the sheika slate and the mental note to sketch it out in her notebook later. “I would almost start to believe the reports that one elder keeps sending me stating my approval to your wedding was an attempt to bring the Zora domain to ruin.”
She sends Link a quick wink when he makes a few rude signs. The second trap really does result in her making a few small jumps. She gives a cross look when there's a small pop and her pants gets covered by some sludge, causing Link to start chuckling.
“You think that's funny don't you? Honestly Link, what kind of booby trap is that even? All it does is give you a stain, I can't see a bokoblin get scared of that.”
Link waves his hands for his face trying to stop laughing. Once he gets his breathing in order and no longer giggles every time he tries to look towards Zelda he's finally able to explain why it would indeed be very effective against them.
The look of utter disgust on her face sets him off in a whole new round of giggles, one she soon joins. She becomes even more careful with the next two traps before finally able to step to where Link is still lying. He gives her a soft smile and waves her a 'Hello stranger, fancy meeting you here', before letting out a sneeze.
Zelda quickly removes her cloak and covers Link with it while she starts removing the bricks that seem to be the one hindering him the most. His leg looks like somebody tried to run a whole racetrack over it.
“Oh Link. It looks just awful. I'm not certain a potion will cut it here. Personally I would demand at least a weeks bed rest, but then again knowing you I should be happy if I can end up convincing you to take even two days.”
She patches up his leg as good as she can with the item's they brought along, then she decides to use the slate to teleport them someplace closer to Hateno village. There she sends out a message to Paya, letting her know of Links current state, the return message comes before the next day really began by a swift knock on the door.
To Link's chagrin Paya agrees on the several days bed rest. And he has to endure the knowledge that Zelda even makes it a royal order, when she catches him eyeing the Sheika slate. No amount of pouting helps him when after that lecture Zelda catches him squinting his eyes a bit. He wonders how she concludes him having gotten a concussion from just that, but she does.
On the third day Zelda has to track him down when she finds his bed empty in the morning, only to find him helping some of the villagers with some small chores. She forces him to sit and takes over the work, after wards she takes him back to his house.
“Honestly Link. You are ill, the least you could have done was tell me about it. There was no reason for you to do this now.” He sighs at her disappointed tone.
'They helped me greatly when I came here the very first time. These are the people that still loved to tell our story, that still carried the hope. It's the least I can do in return for them.'
“Sometimes Link I fear you look after others just a bit too much. There is no shame in helping but not at your own expense.” She smiles at him. “I remember a very annoying person once telling me just that when he caught me doing too much.” Link smiles, the memory vague but present.
'If I remember it correctly the replay I got was “And Why is that such a bad thing?”. You did not like me very much for telling you off as you so lovely put it back then.'
Zelda nods. She can't deny it was one of the subjects they would argue about in great dept once they had gotten accustomed to one another back then.
“Do you also remember what your reaction to me saying that was? I had always gotten annoyed with people telling me it was not my place to do favors for lower people and I had been convinced your answer would be similar.”
Link shakes his head. Try as he might this part of the memory was probably lost to him forever. Zelda sees the pained look on his face by the way he pulls in his brow and softly rubs his shoulder.
“Do not worry too much over it. I remember it quite clearly. You told me; 'Because you forget to look after yourself'. That had hit a nerve with me, you weren't telling me off because of my station, you were telling me to calm down because out of concern for me.”
A soft smile crosses her lips. Remembering the day as clear as if it was just last week and not over a hundred years ago. Link signs that he would love to know where she is in her mind.
“It was the first time I told you; “I thought you did that for me?”. I think any feelings of comradery we had since was carved into us that day. Something told me that maybe, just maybe you understood me better than I thought you would.” her lip curls. “Even if you could annoy me greatly.”
If you like this story or any of the other 1 hour ficlets, please consider sending in a prompt to get one for yourself.

SidonxReader (Promises Pt4)
Pairing: Prince Sidon x Reader (LoZ:BotW) Genre: Romance!! BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT WE NEED Summary: The first time Prince Sidon was allowed…no asked to travel further away from his home than ever before. And for no less reason than to find help to save his people from a threat that his father had yet to explain to him! With only a small silver crest, a map and his best friend Link he makes his way to the first temple in order to remind the goddess herself of a long forgotten promise. What he finds there is not what he expected.
((WHAT HAPPENED HERE!? I am gone for a hot minute and already there are so many people!! >u<; Thank you all so much for your support! I hope you’ll like this chapter as well ;DD MAYBE THER IS A KISS IN IT?!?!? *BAITBAITBAIT* (not really, this still needs more character development before we throw people at each other with surprise love) please bear with me TTuTT))
“How long until we get there?” You all had been walking for hours. Uphill. Downhill. Uphill again. Currently you were stumbling down a stony path on the edge of yet another hill. “According to the map we shouldn’t take much longer until we reach our next destination. Look, it’s right there!” Link had the piece of parchment in his hands. He pointed onto one of the crosses on the inky landscape and you wondered if he knew what he was talking about. (You certainly didn’t.) Plus, he had said the same thing a while ago already. Your eyes scanned the map quickly. That was such a small piece of paper anyways. Sure, there were words written all over it, names to landmarks and places to pinpoint the wanderer’s location with…but to you it all looked like nonsense. If that one cross at the bottom left had been your temple- and the one a bit to the right and up the one you wanted to go to next….then where were you? WHERE?! “Patience.” You looked up to meet Sidon’s eyes. He was looking far off ahead of your group as if he could already see something in the distance, but then he shook his head and sighed almost inaudibly. “I know you are eager to resolve this predicament of yours. I am, too, quite in a haste…”, there was a subtle hint of sorrow in the corner of his smile, “ You can trust Link with the map. He has been through all of Hyrule from north to south, east to west. If anyone knows their way out here, it’s him.”
“Mh.” You nodded; then you asked, “Sidon, you mentioned needing help from the goddess. For your people. What is happening back where you come from?” The Prince looked at you surprised with his mouth slightly open, allowing you a small glimpse of his sharp teeth before he spoke. Your sudden interest in the Zora matters seemed to have been unexpected. “Ah, it’s…difficult to explain.” He started. “You said maybe I can help you. While I doubt that is the case, I can still hear you out before I decide on that for good.” There really was no reason not to, right? If nothing more, it would help you pass the time while walking…and maybe, just maybe, you were a tiny bit interested in why the Zora Prince had such a worried look on his face.
“I….how do I say this without making a fool of myself?” he mused with his arms in front of his chest and a hand under his chin. “If I am completely honest, I’d have to say…” You glanced at him, waiting patiently for Sidon to collect his thoughts. “…I really don’t know.” “Well this could be seen as foolish by some…” You stated and immediately slapped yourself mentally. Another old habit you would have to keep an eye out for: Your bluntness ….now more than ever because people could hear you talk. “But I am sure you still have your reasons!” You added in a hurry. “You see, my father, the king…he told me about a dark prophecy only known to the royal family of our people. A secret.” He paused as if deep in thought and his face was painted with sadness as he continued to speak. “He said he asked me with much regret to go out and search for our salvation…but he himself is too old and too chained up in his duties to do so…it seems the signs of danger all point to the legends coming true and that we are all doomed should the white goddess not come to our aid.” His eyes were fixed on the ground before him, his shoulders heavy with the weight of an unknown burden.  “He did not tell me of the signs or the words of the prophecy so I could travel with a lighter heart, he said…” That must have worried him even more… must be real bad then…, you thought. “…but what pains me most is that he felt the need to shield me from all this. He was reluctant to ask his son for help. I just wish…he had more faith in me.”
Oh… “What matters though is that we get to the temple and say our prayers. Maybe the goddess will hear us this time!” It took him less than a second to switch from the sombre tone back to his happy face. The only thing you managed to reply with was a nervous laugh when he shot you an especially wide smile this time. It was…concerning how quick he could change…and also, once again, maybe this was  simply to be expected from a Prince. I feel …like…I have heard more than I should have… You tried coming up with something nice to say but couldn’t find any words. Forgotten was the anger about the events from yesterday. For now, at least.
“OOF!” You stumbled back when you walked right into Link. “Oh, I am sorry!” “We are making a halt?” Sidon asked the young Hylian boy. The area around the group was quiet. Apart from the chirping birds and the occasional gust of wind nothing broke the serene scenery of the woodlands you wandered through.
“Not exactly. We’ve done well today and since we are in this area…” , he tightened the belt holding his scabbard. “If you don’t mind, Sidon….and you of course…” he nodded at you and you slightly cringed remembering the loss of your name, “ I would like to pay a quick visit to the Great Fairy that resides in these woods.” “A Great Fairy?!” That had come out louder than you had expected. None the less you continued. “ I want to come with you! Is it far from here? Will she be awake?” A heap of questions just rolled off your tongue like a ravine off a snowy mountain. The young men looked at your face. Your cheeks where glowing with excitement over the possibility of meeting one of the elusive magical beings. “I’ll gladly join in as well! It’s not every day you get the chance to see a Great Fairy.” The Zora Prince looked almost as happy as you. “I was going to ask you two to come with me from the start!”  The blonde smiled. “It’s not far from here- just a minute or two off the beaten path to our right.” He pointed at the thick shrubbery and was already making his way over to the treeline. “I am sure she’d like some rubies…and maybe she knows something that can help you…you.” He waved at you to try and emphasize that he was talking to you. This ‘not-having-a-name-to-go-by-thing’ was starting to get more and more awkward… “That’s what I have been thinking!” You stumbled over a fallen tree and trudged behind him through the woodworks. “I know about the Great Fairies but never met one- they see a lot of things!” It was worth a shot, right? And it wouldn’t even cost you all that much time. “Yes! Ah, and Sidon?” “Huh?” The Zora perked up from looking at his feet. He was a pro in the water- but this hopping and jumping and manoeuvring through the bushes was quite a bit of a challenge. “You might like to hear this: every Great Fairy resides in a Fairy Fountain!” “Fresh water?!” “The best you can get!” “You are not kidding me, are you?” “Never! See for yourself, we are there!” The Hylian hadn’t lied. It had taken less than two minutes to get to the big flower shaped spring. Big succulent petals reached out from the glistening water surface. They were adorned with jewellery made from pure gold and little fairies gleefully danced in the air around it. Sidon wasted no time sinking to his knees in the shallow water around the fountain itself. The mere touch of the liquid seemed to relax him more than you had seen him since ….no, you simply hadn’t seen him this relaxed at all up until now! For some reason it made you smile. “So, where is the Fairy?” You slowly walked closer to the fountain, taking in the sight and greeting a few little fairies that had come to buzz around you with their tiny wings. They’d shy away from Hylians and humans and any other kind of people alike but not you. Just like the ones in your temple they flocked to you as soon as you approached. You sighed with faint relief. At least some things seemed to have stayed the same.
“The Great Fairy is right here. We just haven’t greeted her properly yet.” With this, Link opened his pouch and took a good handful of rubies out of it. He threw them in the air above the fountain and for a moment it was raining stars and lights. The water’s surface hadn’t quieted down when it once again began to stir and bubble- but this time from deep within. The rumbling got louder and louder until finally with a splash and a giggle the impressively voluptuous Great Fairy rose up between the opalescent waves.
“Haaaaaaa….what a nice nap that was…” She stretched a little before she leaned on her forearms and contently smiled at you all. “My my…boy, how nice of you to visit me again <3 And you brought some wonderful friends with you as well, I see…” Her light chuckle rang through the air as she looked each of you over. “How brave a warrior, to wander the dry lands to such lengths…” She winked at the Zora Prince with a coy smile, who in turn blushed and jumped to his feet to bow just a little bit deeper than necessary. “There is no need to bow, Prince Sidon. I am merely a fairy that watches the world’s goings on from the safety of her small pond <3 I should be the one bowing to your bravery- but I guess it isn’t possible right now <3” And so she didn’t bow. Instead, she blew a kiss in his direction, which made him blush even more. Link was grinning behind his hand, barely able to stifle a laugh, watching the whole thing. …you were still too taken aback by the Fairy’s sheer….size. She was a Great Fairy. A GREAT Fairy. “Now, I don’t believe you have come to ask me to enhance your clothes today….” The Fairy’s gaze came to rest on you. “What do we have here I wonder…come closer child.” Her long nails clicked against one another when she moved her fingers to call you. Hesitantly, you waded through the cool water and onto one of the lower petals in front of her. “Shouldn’t you be peacefully dreaming in your lovely temple? How unusual for your kind to be out and about…I’d dare say even impossible!” She reached out for you, fingertips loosely brushing over your shoulder and arm, her touch as gentle as the wings of a butterfly. “And yet you are here and with such a pretty packaging too. Apart from this…” Her nail lifted the hem of your blanket a little bit. “I- I know!” You clumsily brushed the blanket back down. And I am already growing accustomed to this thing as well, you thought with a huff. “You are right- I shouldn’t be here, nor in this body. Great Fairy- don’t you know how I can go back to how I was before?" “Hmmm…you want to change back, I see…” The Fairy tapped her index finger on her bottom lip a few times, “Sweetheart I am sorry – taking away what was given by Hylia herself is definitely out of my powers~”
“Wha- !? But—“ Not even a great fairy could reverse this? And what did she mean ‘given by Hylia herself’?
“It is something you’ll have to figure out on your own.” She smiled. What was it with people smiling at you when you were clearly distressed? “Then— My name! You said you saw me sleeping; then you surely know my name!” Grasping at straws- if she didn’t know how to get rid of the mortal shell than maybe she could clear up the name question. “Oh, so you also lost your name….figures, actually.” Figures?? “Yes! My name- do you know my name?” “Haaaaaaaa….sweetie…I am sorry, I must have forgotten your name as well.” Both of you looked at each other for a few seconds. You, disappointed and defeated. She, still smiling warmly …and unfitting, you decided.
“Awwww- don’t pout with that pretty mouth.” She said after a while. “Here, let me give you a gift to lift your spirits. Something nice, something just for you.” These words spoken, the fairy suddenly bent forward, her enormous face inching closer to you. And closer. Even closer. She wasn’t stopping. There was less than a handlength between you. She still moved in—
You barely had time to realize what was going on before her plump lips filled your entire vision. The last thing you could do was shut your eyes as tight as possible in anticipation of the impact…
….that never came. You only heard a satisfying ‘muah!’ and opened your eyes. “Well, do you like it? I, for one, think you look just fabulous!” And really, instead of the brown blanket you were dressed in a pretty, albeit a little short, tunic, that slightly fluttered in the wind. “We don’t want to hide those pretty legs.” There was beautiful embroidery on the hem and some of the seams. The fabric was soft and flowing. A delicate feeling against your skin that reminded you of your dreams filled with magic and wonder. In awe you marbled at the beautiful garment she put on your body. “I do like it, thank you.” You gave a sad smile. “I guess this is as close as I will get to our magic again. I lost all of it since I got this body.” “What?! Ahahahahhahaha!” Her laughter was shrill but hearty. “ You must be joking, my dear! Not one ounce of it was lost—
You are literally glowing from all the energy stored inside of you!”
What? You had to do a double take. She was right. The markings on your body emitted a shimmering glow. Was this your magic? It had to be! Only… …you couldn’t do anything with it! Nothing, not even stupidly shaking your hands did a thing, neither was concentrating on the glowing lines and circles and letters helpful. So you had magic in you still. Good! Not all hope was lost with this body. “Now, my lovelies, I believe you were headed somewhere…” Suffice to say all of you agreed to leave before the Great Fairy was able to hand out more of her infamous kisses.
She watched the trio as they slowly disappeared into the leafy greens. A sigh escaped her lips and she whispered to the little fairies in a hushed tone: “Oh I am sure she’ll make it. They all will. In fact, they’re already all waiting for them. A test, yes. The  first of them.” A few of the little glowing winged orbs flew closer to her ear. “It’s true, I lied a little. Poor (Y/N)…let’s hope she figures it out soon.”
The Great Fairy got ready to retreat into her fountain.
“There are far greater things in this world to wish for than a temple or being one of the magical kind.”
  And with this, she vanished.

Don’t make this weird, he thought fervently. Whatever you do, do not make this weird.
Lying curled up next to the small, currently dead fire that he knew he should give one more go at getting started again but just couldn’t work up the motivation to do so, Link hugged his legs to his chest and tried valiantly to ignore two things: the bitter cold cutting through his light, flimsy clothing to assault the vulnerable flesh underneath - why on earth had he chosen a regular old tunic over the much warmer, much sturdier Rito clothing was beyond him - a serious slip in judgement as far as he was concerned. Why did people allow him to be the Champion again? He couldn’t even competently dress himself, despite knowing the weather was going to be freezing! The cold, however, was something he was used to ignoring. It was a relatively easy thing to ignore, despite the immense discomfort it wreathed him in.
That other thing was Prince Sidon, who was sitting quietly only a couple inches away, close enough that if Link were to roll over, he would get a faceful of knee. So close, in fact, that he was completely surrounded by the Zora’s unique, pleasant scent. Every time he breathed in, his throat, lungs and mind were saturated by it. He had been surprised, at first, to discover that despite Sidon’s people having some kind of connection to fish, they didn’t at all smell like fish. Instead, Sidon, at least, gave off a salty, grassy scent - something similar to what a sunny, clear day in Lurelin village smelt like; when you got past the overwhelming odor of dead fish, that is. He’d define it as a peaceful, welcoming aroma, as well as one that was very, very distracting.
If his concentration on not thinking about it slipped for even a moment, Link found the same lines of dialogue zipping through his mind, chanting over and over again that Sidon smelled so good, so unbelievably good, how could he smell so good, how was that even possible, no one should be able to smell that good, especially not someone who spent the majority of his time in water. For a few moments, his brain would be completely overrun by the loud, incessant cacophony before he jerked back to reality, harshly chastising himself as his cheeks burned hotly with embarrassment. He knew there was so way Sidon could hear his thoughts but still, that didn’t change the fact that he was thinking them.
Don’t be weird, don’t make this weird, he told himself for what felt like the tenth millionth time since he and Sidon had coincidentally met at the edge of the river that ran through the split of the Dual Mountain just as a nasty snowstorm was picking up. It had caught them both by surprise, leaving them practically stranded as hefty snowflakes pelted down from the stone grey sky to quickly cover the world in a thick sheet of pristine white. His heart fluttered happily as he remembered the huge, relieved smile that had spread across Sidon’s handsome face when they had spotted one another. After all, it’s better to be out in dangerous weather with someone you can trust and rely on, rather than be stranded all alone. He wasn’t sure who was more thankful for their impromptu meeting, himself or Sidon but one thing for certain was that they were both very happy to be in each other’s company.
Though, it would probably be more accurate to say he was both very happy and extremely worried. The cold was easy to ignore, he had spent more than enough of his time convincing himself that he wasn’t freezing or that he wasn’t overheating that he knew how to handle being out, exposed, in bad weather. Sidon, on the other hand, was very difficult to ignore - mostly because he didn’t want to. At that moment, he wanted nothing more than to roll over, prop himself up on his elbow and look up into those gorgeous, warm, golden eyes but he could recognize that would be putting himself in a dangerous situation. The mental filter he usually kept strongly in place tended to get a bit weaker whenever he was exhausted; given that he had spent the entire day climbing up the sides of both sides of the Dual Mountain just so he could get to the shrines that, for whatever horrendous reason, were at the top, it was easy to say that he, before Sidon had appeared and even more so now, was about ready to drop where he stood.
Now that Sidon was beside him, the exhaustion was still there but it was accompanied by a familiar jitteriness - the sensation he associated with his flight response, the basic and instinctual need to flee from a situation he knew posed a danger to him. Not a physical danger in this scenario as he knew that if Sidon ever were to attack him, he had probably been asking for and deserved it, but rather a sense that something that was both intangible and precious was currently in peril. All because he might not be able to keep his dumb, big mouth shut.
Don’t make this weird. Do not make this weird, he repeated over and over again as Sidon’s heavenly scent wafted around him, cocooning him in pleasantness that easily pulled his mind away from the fact that he was currently so cold that his fingers were numb. He needed to rebuild the fire, to get it going once more or he was risking hypothermia. However, that would entail rolling over, getting himself up and collecting the materials needed to make a fire, which would mean some kind of interaction between him and Sidon would most likely take place. And in his current exhausted but somehow hyped up state, he was scared of what might happen. He didn’t even really need to blurt anything out - Sidon could just smile and he knew he’d probably fall flat on his face, the tips of his ears turning the same color as the rivers of lava that ran from Death Mountains.
In other words, he’d make an ass of himself and Sidon wouldn’t just turn a blind eye to that. He would know something was going on, would probably also demand that Link tell him what it was (most likely out of fear that the cold was getting to his head - which wasn’t wrong as he was sure the cold wasn’t helping his current state), and that was something that he just couldn’t risk because the answer was one he didn’t ever plan on sharing with Sidon. And given that he didn’t want to lie to Sidon - mostly because he knew he was a terrible liar, and the Zora Prince knew the same - he just found it easier to lie on the cold ground, his limbs shivering, his teeth clenched so they wouldn’t chatter and try his best to ignore the someone who, in any other circumstance, he wouldn’t even consider snubbing.
He just needed to hold on for a little while longer. Eventually, exhaustion would overwhelm everything, as it always did, and he’d slip into a restless sleep where his dreams would be filled with Sidon’s scent, possibly even more than just his scent, then he’d awake in the morning to find the world blanketed in white, Sidon asleep by his side and probably take a few moments to gaze longingly down at the Zora Prince’s handsome face before guiltily jerking away and putting his refreshed mind on maintaining a non-weird demeanor. Then, they would continue on, same as before, nothing having changed and awkwardness avoided. He just needed to get to that point - after that, everything would be fine. He would be fine, Sidon would be fine. Their friendship would be fine.
“Link,” Sidon abruptly spoke up, his voice hesitant and soft, “are you awake?”
Suddenly, he was very grateful for his lack in motivation in getting the fire going again because if he had, Sidon would have definitely been able to see his jolt of surprise but due to the darkness brought on by the heavy, overcast sky, he was relatively sure that the Zora Prince could probably only see his general shape and nothing else. Biting back the automatic response that had arose in his throat, Link tiredly sighed inwardly at the wave of guilt that washed over him at having ignored Sidon calling out to him, and told himself that it was just for tonight, he just needed to hang on for the night and tomorrow, he would be okay. Tomorrow, he would make it up to the Zora Prince by listening attentively to every single thing he said, never letting his focus slip once.
But for now, he needed to play it safe and remain quiet.
“Are you asleep?” Sidon whispered, followed by the telltale noises of him shifting closer to where Link lay.
Again, he bit back a response, mentally apologizing Sidon for being dishonest. Struggling against the urge to hold his breath as he felt the Zora Prince lean over him, obviously inspecting his face in the dark. There were a few moments of tense silence, during which he was certain that the Zora Prince knew he was fibbing, before Sidon shifted back, let out a soft, long sigh, whispered something to himself that Link couldn’t quite make out then fell quiet once more. The guilt was in full force now, almost to the point that he couldn’t bear being quiet for a moment more.
Don’t make this weird, he chanted, over and over again, inside of his head. He knew if he were to speak up now, if he were to roll over and engage Sidon in some kind of dialogue, something would slip out that would make things weird between them. There were a lot of things he didn’t want and one of the things at the very top of the list was their relationship becoming awkward. His friendship with Sidon was very precious to him, he considered the Prince to be his closest, dearest, most beloved friend whom he could lean on, rely on, talk to about anything and he would rather march into Hyrule Castle, completely naked, armed only with a tree branch to face Calamity Ganon over doing anything that would mess up their relationship.
And if that meant swallowing down everything, clamping his mouth shut to keep words that desperately wanted to be said from falling out, then was absolutely what he was going to do.
Warmth suddenly brushed along the curve of his cheek, causing him to nearly jump out of his skin. He managed to not actually do that and remain still as he tried to figure out what just touched him. It took him less than a second to realize that what was currently lightly stroking the cold skin of his cheek was none other than the backs of Sidon’s fingers. The only reason he could tell that was what it was was because he could feel the Zora Prince leaning over him, his other hand planted firmly on the ground directly in front of Link’s stomach, close enough that he could feel it pressing against him. Not to mention, just from the sensation alone, he could tell that it was somebody’s hand and given that no one was there besides him and Sidon, and since he wasn’t touching his own face, that only left the Zora Prince.
Okay, that explained the what but not exactly the why. While the Prince wasn’t at all the distant sort, he was actually quite affectionate but it was never to this extent. Hair ruffling, bear hugs (which he was sure were just normal hugs for Sidon but were more of the bear variety for him given their size differences), as well as the common Zora sign of friendly affection that Link referred to as the forehead bump because it was just Sidon lightly bumping the rounded curve of his head fin against his forehead or temple were what he was used to - simple, easy going signs of platonic love, some of them a bit rough, others a little more sweet but nothing ever this tender. The gesture was almost intimate in nature, though he was certain that that was probably just reading too much into it.
A soft pang of guilt made itself known in his heart. Maybe Sidon wanted to talk about something that was bothering him, perhaps that was why he had been inquiring as to whether he was asleep or not, and Link had ignored him. However, the guilt was quickly batted down by confusion: if Sidon wished to speak about such a something, why was he touching him in such a way? Link wracked his brain for any line of thinking or sort of problem that could lead up to him having his cheek gently, almost loving stroked while the person doing the motion was certain that the one whom the motion was being enacted on was asleep. The answer was none, he could not come up with a single, defined reason as to why the Zora Prince was touching him in such a way.
A thought sudden sprang up in his mind. Perhaps Sidon was just feeling lonely but didn’t want to be rude and wake Link up so he was just touching him in that very soft, very gentle way so he’d feel less lonely, but also wouldn’t disturb him. Yes, that had to be it! The Zora Prince wasn’t sleepy just yet so the intense quiet of their current situation was making him feel a little uncomfortable - therefore, he was initiating some kind of physical contact with Link to alleviate that but was doing so in such a way that he was certain that he wouldn’t wake him. Link mentally nodded, a little proud of his deduction skills, though the guilt sullenly crept back as he realized he had pushed Sidon into feeling such a way by ignoring him. He would definitely have to make it up to the Prince someway, somehow in the following days but for now, he would just stay still, enjoy the feeling of those long, calloused, warm fingers grazing his skin and try not to think too terribly hard about the whole thing.
He had just made up his mind to do that when he suddenly felt Sidon lean further down. For a split second, he was scared he had been caught in the act, that the Zora Prince had figured out that he was just fibbing. Hundreds of excuses screamed through his mind, each one more ludicrous and outlandish than the last but they all came to a screeching halt when he felt Sidon’s warm, firm lips press a light, fluttery kiss against the same cheek his fingers had just been caressing. Warm air slid along his skin as the Zora Prince breathed out slowly, sending a wave of tingling goosebumps across the surface of his flesh. Before his sputtering mind, which was just repeating ‘WHAT! WHAT! WHAT!’ over and over again in an annoying, maddening loop, could react to what Sidon had just done, the Zora Prince leaned down once more, nuzzling his lips against the curve of Link’s cheeks, lightly pressing kisses that became increasingly firmer and more pronounced as they move along the line of his face. Not with enough pressure that if he were truly asleep, he’d be woken up but still with what he was only a little bit hesitating to say was enthusiasm. Short, harsh breaths puffed against his skin, chasing away any trace of cold.
Meanwhile, his own breath had frozen inside of his throat, surprise at the sudden actions causing his lungs to seize. He had thought up an explanation about why Sidon had been stroking his cheek - it had been far fetched now that he actually thought about it but it had still been a reason as to why. Even with his brain currently in the state of constant, startled screaming, he knew there was no explanation as to why Sidon was kissing him to be found inside his mind. How did he explain this? This went beyond just feeling lonely, beyond needing some kind of physical connect in order to chase away the discomfort of stillness and silence.
This...this was intimate, this was beyond friendly affection. And it felt so supremely good. His exhausted, seizing mind quickly got away from ‘what’ and ‘why’, deciding instead to focus on the immensely pleasant sensation of Sidon’s lips brushing softly along his skin. Heat began to bloom in his cheeks, spreading across his face to his ears, surely turning them a bright shade of pink. Inside his chest, his heart was hammering wildly, slamming hard against his ribcage, sending reverberations of the beat throughout his entire body. Struggling to keep the pace of his breath even so Sidon wouldn’t catch on to the fact that he was awake, Link distantly wondered what he should do. He wasn’t exactly anywhere upset that Sidon was kissing him out nowhere, he was just extremely confused as to why.
A sudden disturbing thought dawned on him: what if this wasn’t really happening? What if he was halfway asleep and this was just a dream? As soon as the thought appeared in his mind, he just as quickly shoved it away. The sensations, the warmth, his own sense of perception alone was enough to tell him that this was not in any way a dream. Though, that had been the only why he had been able to think of and now, he was left again with no explanation. Maybe he should speak up? Just like the thought about how this could be a dream, that suggestion was quickly shoved away. Don’t make this weird, the mantra chanted once more inside his mind. Pretending to wake up now would most definitely make things weird.
Before he could make up his mind as to what to do, Sidon abruptly jerked away, letting out a harsh, hard exhale of breath. Link felt him lean back, away from him, and cold quickly refilled the space he had once occupied. An intensely mournful feeling suddenly filled his chest as Sidon’s scent, Sidon’s warmth slipped away from him. Swallowing hard, struggling against the impulse to turn over, grab the Zora Prince’s arm and yank him back, Link let his breath slow down, his ears trained for any noise. There was a deep sigh from Sidon followed by him softly saying, “What are you doing? Are you an idiot?”
Another sigh followed then there was nothing but silence for a very long while. It felt like a different silence than before - this one was heavier, more tense, as though there were an ominous cloud hanging directly overtop of them. Link swallowed hard again, a hint of anxiety nervously murmuring in his chest. He desperately wanted to ask what was going on with the Zora Prince but was far too scared to reveal he was awake. Pulling in a deep breath to calm his still pounding heart, Link had a short lived internal struggle of what to do that was brought to an abrupt end when Sidon suddenly reached over, gripped his shoulder and began to firmly shake him.
“Wake up, Link.” Sidon commanded in a calm but forceful voice.
He couldn’t ignore that. Pretending to be asleep now would definitely just bring to light that he had been fibbing. After letting Sidon shake him a couple of times, Link slowly opened his eyes, then out a quietly irritated noise before rolling over to face the Zora Prince. Just as he previously thought, it was so dark that he could barely make out any of Sidon’s features. Rather, all he could really see was Sidon’s outline. The Zora Prince had moved close once again and was leaning over him, his head bent down so Link guessed he was looking down at him.
“What’s the matter?” he asked, a little proud of how perfectly he got the ‘I’m tired, why did you wake me up’ voice.
Sidon was silent for a few moments. Link could practically feel his gaze boring into him. Fighting against the urge to fidget under such a scrutinizing stare, Link tried to meet his eyes but since he couldn’t figure out exactly where his face was, that proved to be a bit difficult. All he could do was look back in around the place he estimated Sidon’s head to be.
“If I were to kiss you right now, what would your reaction be?” Sidon suddenly asked.
“Eh?” Was the only sound he managed to get out.
“Please just answer the question, Link.” Sidon responded firmly, though his tone sounded like false bravado.
Staring blankly up at the Zora Prince, Link slowly digested what he had just been asked. What would he do if Sidon were to kiss him right now, in this very moment? Link stared blankly up at the Zora Prince as the question flashed vibrantly in his mind’s eye. Did he mean kissing him as he had just previously done or a full blown kiss on the lips? No, now that he was thinking about it, that might be a stupid inquiry. This atmosphere, the way he could feel Sidon's gaze boring into him, he could only mean an actual kiss kiss. Still, maybe it was best to ask for some clarification so he didn't misunderstand.
“What do you mean?”
More silence from Sidon, though thankfully, it didn’t go for too long, “Here,” he said, lifting one large hand to point at Link’s mouth, “if I were to kiss you here, right now, what would your reaction be?”
“Why would you do that?” Link finally managed to ask after several moments of stunned silence. It felt like a dumb question to ask. A large part of his brain already knew the answer. Despite not being the most versed on the subject, he could, at least, put two and two together to come up with a valid reason. Not to mention, looking back to only seconds before, that just hammered home that this was what he thought it was. Wasn’t the answer obvious? But still….he needed to hear Sidon say it. Before he could answer, before he could officially shove away the mantra of ‘don’t make this weird’, he needed Sidon to say it.
For a very long, very tense moment, he thought Sidon wasn’t going to say anything. He thought for certain that the Zora Prince was going to move away, tell him to forget it before lying down on his side, facing away from Link. Anxiety fluttered inside his chest. He didn’t want that. Yes, he had just been running away and pretty much doing the exact same thing, which he now felt profoundly embarrassed at having done so - he was the Champion, and yet, he couldn’t handle something like this?! - but at the same time, he realized that, rather abruptly, he and Sidon were in a scenario he had envisioned many times, and what they both said in this moment was going to be very important to the future of their relationship.
“Sidon?” He spoke up, his voice cracking slightly, “Why?”
The Zora Prince was quiet for a moment longer before he let out a long, hard breath, his head bowing. His hand dropped away, somewhere down where Link couldn’t really see. A lump rose in his throat, his stomach muscles tightening as he anxiously watched the shape of Sidon’s broad shoulders rise then slowly fall back down. He wanted to reach out, to reach down to wherever the Zora Prince’s hands had gone so he could take one into his own, squeeze it tightly, comfortingly, in hopes that would give Sidon the courage to speak but his body refused to listen to his wants. Instead, all he could do was stare up at the Zora Prince, his heart thundering in his chest, his skin cold for another reason beside the frigidness, and a dizzying mixture of hope and anxiety whirling around inside his mind.
“I love you.” Sidon suddenly said, his voice soft and barely audible, “I’ve loved you for a very long time now. Ever since you first arrived in the Domain, I think there’s been a part of me that loved you. As time passed and we spent more and more time together, that small part grew and grew and grew until it filled my entire being with adoration, adulation for you. I thought I could hide it, that I could swallow it down and we could just be friends. I wanted to be friends with you, to be close to you, to be your confidant, someone you could turn to but I wanted so much more.”
Sidon paused, taking in another deep breath before softly continuing, “I wanted you. Not as just a friend, but as something so much more. I wanted to deeply to tell you but I was frightened. I didn’t know what would become of our friendship if I did. I-I didn’t want to lose you. I don’t want to lose you but this silence...it's suffocating. I can’t keep quiet any longer, I know that now. So please,” Sidon’s head abruptly lifted and Link felt, rather than saw, the full weight of his intense glare fall upon him, “answer me. Deny me so I can put these feelings behind me and be your true and honest friend. Please, before I do something shameful.”
“No.” Link replied after several moments of silence.
He heard Sidon gasp quietly in surprise but he paid no mind to it. Pushing himself up onto his knees, he scooted forward until he was directly in front of the Zora Prince. Also ignoring the breathless question of what he was doing that came from Sidon, Link reached up, having to stretch his arms out to full length, and cupped the Zora Prince’s cold cheeks in the palm of his hands.
“You asked me what I would do.” He said softly, his voice trembling, excitement thundering through his veins, an intensely dizzying feeling bombarding his head, “Is this good enough of an answer?”
With that, he pulled the Zora Prince down while pushing himself up as far as he could go and clumsily placed his cold lips against Sidon’s, using the tips of his thumbs to guide him to where his mouth was. A startled, hard breath brushed against his nose, followed quickly by Sidon’s muscular arms wrapped around him and squeezing firmly. Pulling away from the light kiss, Link stared up into what he hoped was the Zora Prince’s eyes, took a deep breath and said, “I’m sorry.”
“For what?” Sidon asked hazily, his voice laced with barely disguised want.
“I’ve feel the same way. I’ve loved you for so long but I’ve always been so scared to tell you. You are my most precious friend, someone who I want to remain by, to stick by your side through everything and just be with you. And I was so scared of making our relationship awkward, to ruining it and losing my closest, dearest friend that I would just tell myself to not make this weird, to not doing anything that could destroy this,” He slid down into a sitting position, his hands falling away from Sidon’s face to rest limply in his lap, “Everything is in turmoil right now, there’s tragedy and violence everywhere I turn but you are the one who makes me feel safe. No matter where we are, if I’m with you, I feel at peace, like the whole world had just vanished and everything was okay. I can talk to you about anything, turn to you about everything and loved being someone you felt the same about - that we were on the same level, we could talk openly and honestly with each other. I was so fucking scared of losing that. I couldn’t even stand the thought of it. But that didn’t change the fact that what I felt for you went beyond just friendship.” He laughed quietly, “We’ve both felt the exact same way. How did it take us this long to realize that?”
“Say it again.” Sidon whispered.
“What?” Link asked, brushing hair out of his eyes.
“How you feel about me. Please, say it again.”
Sniffing hard, his cheeks heating up again, Link let his gaze drop down to his laps, took a deep breath and said, “I love you.”
“Again...please.” Sidon whispered urgently, reaching forward to brush the backs of his fingers along Link’s flaming hot cheek.
“You say it back first.” Link said in a tone that was a little pouty. “It's not fair if it's just me.”
“I love you.” The Zora Prince said firmly without any hesitation. Stroking the pad of his thumb against Link’s lips, he whispered, “I love you so much. I want to make you mine. I want to keep you by my side always. I love you, Link.”
Leaning down abruptly, he began to pepper kisses all over Link’s warm face, whispering soft confessions of love in-between each smooch placement. Basking in the blissful attention, Link slowly turned his head every which way to give the Zora Prince access to every inch of his skin. However, a dinging thought suddenly popped up in his mind. He wasn’t bothered by the abruptness of their situation - if anything, he was glad that, if anything, despite their confessions coming out of nowhere, the entire thing had been handled far smoother than he ever would have thought and resolved so easily that it almost made him nervous. There just was something he was immensely curious about - to the point that he couldn’t really concentrate on anything other than the question flashing inside his mind. Setting his hands on Sidon’s broad shoulders, he gently pushed him away and asked, “Why now? What made you speak up now?”
He felt the Zora Prince jolt underneath his palms, accompanied with a sharp grunt of surprise. In the darkness, he saw Sidon bow his head slightly, though couldn’t tell at all what kind of expression he was wearing. Now the darkness was really starting to get annoying. He should really get that fire going again. Opening his mouth with the intent to tell Sidon he was going to do just that, he was cut off by the Zora Prince suddenly speaking up.
“I lost control of myself just now, when you were asleep. I wanted so badly to touch you, to kiss you that my restraint simply caved, and for a short moment, I allowed myself to indulge in you, all the while knowing that I had not been given permission. When I managed to regain control of myself, I realized that this was something I could not remain silent about anymore. No matter the result, I understood that it was unfair to both you and I to keep my silence. So, I chose to speak.” Sidon chuckled softly, reaching forward to lightly stroke Link’s hair, “Praise to the Goddess, you feel the same as I.”
“I do,” Link said warmly, covering the back of Sidon’s hand with his own. After hesitating for a moment, he cautiously said, “I have a confession, though.”
“Oh? What is that?”
Heat rose to his cheeks as he meekly lowered his head and said, “I was awake.”
“Huh?”
Flinching slightly in embarrassment, Link took a deep breath before continuing, his words coming out quickly, flowing free from his mouth like a strong moving current, “Just now, I was awake. Having you so close was incredibly distracting because you smell really good and I couldn’t help but to think of you but at the same time, I didn’t want to make anything weird. If things became weird, our relationship might become awkward so I was pretending to be asleep with the intent on making it to you tomorrow for ignoring you and then you started touching my cheek and then kissing me and I didn’t know what to do so I just kept quiet.” He stopped, took another deep breath and whispered, “I’m sorry.”
There was a tense moment of silence, during which he was certain Sidon was mad at him for tricking him but, to his relief, the Zora Prince abruptly burst into laughter. Cupping Link’s burning cheeks in the palms of his large hands, he gently pulled him forward into a sweet, smiling kiss, “Well, I suppose this makes us even, doesn’t it?”
Smiling back, leaning into Sidon’s touch, Link nodded, pressing his lips against the Zora Prince’s, loving the expected firmness but also the unexpected smoothness, “It does.”
Chuckling gleefully, Sidon yanked him close, muscular arms snugly closing around him. Pressing kisses all along the top of his head, the Zora Prince whispered in-between smooches, “This doesn’t feel real. I’ve dreamed of this for so long and now that I have you in my arms, it feels like a dream. It isn’t, is it, Link? Tell me this isn’t a dream, please.”
Link was about to respond when an idea suddenly popped up in his mind. Squirming lightly against Sidon’s embrace, he said, “Give me a moment. Let me do something real quick.”
Very hesitantly, as though he didn’t want to let go, Sidon moved his arms away, his hands slowly training down Link's arms. The cold immediately assaulted Link’s flushed skin, quickly driving away all memory of heat. Not bothering to put the effort to keep his teeth from chattering, Link fumbled his way over to where his pack sat. Beside it was a the last bundle of wood he had. Picking it up, he retrieved a piece of flint as well as a small dagger from inside his pack then made his way back over to the designated fire pit. After instructing Sidon to scoot a bit away, he dumped the wood onto the remains of the previous fire and, with trembling hands, took a few tries to get it going but managed to get a loud spark on the fourth try. It took a little persuasion to get the sparks into a roaring fire; however, his talents with flames was something he was bit proud of so soon enough, there was soon a splendid source of heat and light flickering away in front of him.
Smiling triumphantly to himself, he turned back to Sidon, stood up and walked over to him. Sitting down in the gap between his legs, he scooted closer, sighing happily when Sidon’s arms embraced him once more. Wiggling around until he was in a more comfortable position, he leaned his head back so he could peer up into the Zora Prince’s face, he smiled sweetly and said, “This isn’t a dream. See? I’m right here.”
“You are.” Sidon softly, his expression so warm and intensely loving that Link felt his heart skip a beat. Heat rushed to his cheeks, surely turning them a deep shade of red. He wanted to look away, but at the same, he never wanted to stop looking into Sidon’s golden eyes. Never would he have thought that he’d ever see the day that the Zora Prince would look at him in such a way. Now that it was here, now that that gaze was right in front of him, he dearly hoped that nothing would ever take it away from him.
“Are you warm enough?” Sidon asked worryingly, brushing his fingers through Link’s hair.
“I’m warming up nicely.” Link replied.
They both fell silent, simply enjoying the closeness of the other, breathing in each other’s scent. Sleepiness almost immediately swamped him as he sunk into the blissful feeling of Sidon’s warmth, skin and embrace. Yawning, he snuggled closer, ready to let himself slip into a peaceful slumber, knowing that tomorrow, he would start the day not with the suffocating, painful thought that he needed to continue hiding, to continue ensuring Sidon never knew but instead open and honest, with Sidon by his side, their fingers intertwined. That was about the most comforting promise tomorrow brought with it in a long time.
“Link?” Sidon suddenly spoke up, pulling him from his almost slumber.
“Yes?” He replied sleepily.
“Can I touch you?” The Zora Prince asked after a moment of hesitation.
“You already are.” Link said, confused.
“No-” Sidon stopped, his voice catching before quietly continuing, “I mean, down there.”
His sleepy mind couldn’t figure out what the Zora Prince was talking about for several moments. Leaning back, he stared, perplexed, up at Sidon, trying to put the pieces together. Seeming to understand that he needed some time, Sidon quietly gazed back, though Link noticed, even in the low light level, that there was a distinct blue tone to the Zora Prince’s pale cheeks. He understood that to be the Zora equivalent of blushing. As his eyes focused on that blue hint, all the pieces fell together inside of his mind and he finally understood just what Sidon was asking.
Now, it was his turn to blush. Though, instead of blue, he knew his cheeks had to be as red as rubies. Sputtering slightly, he blushed even more deeply when Sidon abruptly smiled, obviously catching on that Link had figured it out. Down there, there was nowhere else he could be talking about other than privates area. That was definitely taking a giant step forward but was he bothered by that? Tearing his gaze away from Sidon’s tantalizing golden eyes, Link stared down at his lap and was startled to find, despite being exhausted, he still had enough energy to react to that request.
Inside his loose pants, he was already semi-hard. Not yet standing to full attention but he was quickly getting there. As Sidon’s voice, asking if he could touch him down there, echoed inside his mind, his cock responded, eagerly hardening and growing. He could even feel a little patch of wetness around the head. Physically, it seemed he wasn’t bothered at all and was even ready for such a big step forward. Was there actually any complaint or doubt inside of him? He quickly searched around inside his head but came up empty in that department. There was only a soft, meek question of why so suddenly but he couldn’t find the energy to devote to that inquiry. He couldn’t bring himself to care about the abruptness - after all, this was something that both of them had been unconsciously hoping for for a long time. Sidon didn’t even have to affirm that, he could see it in his eyes. Instead, he found his heart racing, heat coursing through his veins, causing a tidal wave of goosebumps along his skin. As he registered all that, he realized that he was excited, all traces of sleep had once again been driven away in favor of thundering exhilaration at the thought that if he said yes, Sidon would happily touch him. His big hand would slip down between them until it got to his crotch and then-
“You can.” Link said in a warbling voice, not wanting to just imagine what would happen. He wanted to experience it. Not for it to just be a sweet, lovely dream as he slept underneath the wide open sky. Not for it to just be a hazy daydream as he jacked himself off, after which the shame and guilt over doing such a thing threatened to make him vomit. He was being willing, hopefully, eagerly, happily offered the real fucking thing.
And he wanted it so unbelievably bad.
“You sure?” Sidon cautiously asked, reaching down to cup Link’s chin, raising his head up so their eyes met.
His heart pounded hard against the confines of his ribs as he looked up into Sidon’s eyes. Despite the calmness of the Zora Prince’s voice, his gaze told a different story. Inside that golden sea was an intense heat, a hungry, almost desperate want that stared down at Link as though he wanted to devour him. He hadn’t been fully hard before but now, his cock was standing directly upright, pulsing and hollering that it was ready to go. Swallowing hard against the dryness in his throat, Link could only manage a short nod.
“I need you to tell me, Link.” Sidon softly urged him, leaning down, bringing that hungry gaze even closer, “Tell me that it's okay. I have already shamed myself by kissing you without permission and I swear to do that never again so tell me, speak clearly and tell me that it's okay.”
“It’s okay.” Link coughed out, his voice embarrassingly eager, his breathing uneven and patchy.
The Zora Prince stared at him for a moment longer before a small smile replaced the stern, serious expression on his face. Leaning down further, he pressed a soft kiss on the tip of Link’s nose and whispered, “You are so unbelievably cute.”
Before Link could respond, Sidon’s large hand was sliding down his back, downwards towards his hip. Holding his breath in excitement and anticipation, he tried to turn his head away out of embarrassment at just how much he wanted this but Sidon kept his head in place with the hand on his chin and began to place light, fluttery kisses along the bridge of his nose, the curves of his cheek and the line of his brow. Pulling back slightly, his hand pausing at the hem of his pants, Sidon smiled warmly down at him and whispered, “So cute.”
With that statement said, the Zora Prince, without a speck of hesitation, pushed his long, calloused fingers underneath the hem of his trousers. A hard jolt raced throughout his entire body, startling the air out of his lungs. Given the length of Sidon’s fingers, as well as his own smallness in comparison to everything that was the Zora Prince, he didn’t have to move his hand much further before he was weaving through the wild, wiry pubic hair that grew in abundance around the base of his cock, sending shudders up Link spine at the sensation of his smooth fingertips rubbing softly against his sensitive skin. He expected Sidon to take it slowly, to gradually move further down until contact with his dick was made but it seemed the Zora Prince’s patience had run out. Letting out a short, hard, excited pant, Sidon plunged his hand down even further and wrapped his fingers firmly around his twitching, precum dripping member.
Letting out a loud, choking, startled cry, Link’s hips uncontrollably pistoned forward into the ring of Sidon’s fingers and immediately, as the last note of his yelp was coming out of his mouth, he was coming into his pants. Scalding hot, thick jizz spurted all inside his underwear and all over the Zora Prince’s hand. It was so abrupt that there was only a short lived, flimsy flash of pleasure that faded just as quickly as his orgasm had come. Shuddering, his cheeks burning with mortification, he tugged his chin away from Sidon’s grip, bowed his head and mumbled, “I’m so sorry.”
Instead of responding, Sidon carefully pulled his hand from Link’s pants. Frowning deeply at the removal but knowing he had no place to voice a complaint, he was about to apologize again, to explain that it's been a long time since he had gotten some relief so that’s why he had been so quick - not to mention, it was Sidon, someone he had been dreaming about touching him like that for so long so it was kind of understandable but still, didn’t change the fact that that had been embarrassingly quick, when a wet sucking sound reached his ears. Jerking his head up, his eyes widened, even more heat pouring into his cheeks. Half-lidded, hazy golden eyes gazed unabashedly down at him as Sidon slowly licked off all traces of his semen from his hand and fingers. Hard pants fell free from the Zora Prince’s open mouth. His cheeks were stained with vibrant splotches of blue. Link watched, mesmerized, as his long blue tongue slipped in-between and around his digits, loudly slurping up his jizz.
His dick, which had been softening, immediately reacted. Twitching slightly, it decided that playtime was nowhere near over yet. When Sidon pulled his now clean, but glistening with saliva, hand away, it was already semi-hard again. Smiling widely, the Zora Prince softly said, his voice a husky purr, “That was the intended end result, so why apologize?”
“It happened so quickly, though.” Link mumbled, his gaze still on those sharp, white teeth. In the back of his mind, he wondered if Sidon would bite him. He didn’t know what it would be like to be bitten but, for some reason, he really wanted to find out.
Sidon shrugged slightly, still smiling, “That doesn’t bother me. After all, this isn’t going to be the only time, correct? So why worry?”
His heart jumped excitedly inside his chest. It was obvious, of course it was but still, the promise of more, the sudden impactful knowledge that this wasn’t going to just be over once the moon had set. There was going to be more, so much more! A big smile spread across his face. Thrusting himself forward, he threw his arms around Sidon’s broad shoulders and nodded happily, “You’re right. I promise it’ll last longer next time.”
Sidon laughed heartily, wrapping his arms around him tightly, “That’s not something you have to promise. I’ll be happy no matter what, as long as I’m with you.”
Stupidly happy - that was how he felt. Happy to the point that he felt he was going stupid. Snuggling close to Sidon, he sighed contentedly, ready to just spend the rest of his night in his arms, utterly uncaring of the fact that the situation in his trousers was very soggy, but a thought suddenly occurred to him. Leaning back, he placed his hands on Sidon’s shoulders, looked up at him and said, “Not just me. Lemme do you, too.”
The Zora Prince’s eyes widened in surprise before, to Link’s distress, visibly hesitating, his golden eyes shifted away. A little worried but not wanting to jump to conclusions, he leaned to the side so he could peer into Sidon’s face, “What’s the matter?”
He remained quiet for a moment more before moving his gaze back to Link. After taking a deep breath, he slowly said, “My gential...situation is a lot different than yours.”
“I figured as much, we’re different races, after all.”
“It might be a little...overwhelming for you.” Sidon said haltingly.
Link blinked, tilted his head and said, “I’ll have to see eventually, Sidon. Unless you really don’t want me to.”
“It isn’t that! It’s not that. I just don’t want to scare you.”
Scare him? That was not remotely possible. Sidon would have a gaping mouth in place of a penis and he wouldn’t even blink. He’d find a way around it, find a way to make it work. There wasn’t much of anything that he felt could deter him away from any of this. Not to mention, now, more than ever, he really wanted to see. He actually knew nothing of Zora genitalia or reproductive activity. It wasn’t exactly something he could just ask so he had been curious before but now, it was officially piqued. He didn’t want to do anything that would make Sidon uncomfortable but he felt this was probably something they needed to go ahead and get out of the way before it became awkward.
Placing his hands on Sidon’s warm cheeks, he peered into his eyes and said, “If I’m ever scared, I’ll tell you and we’ll stop. I expect the same from you, understood? If you’re ever nervous or uncomfortable, you just need to tell me, okay?”
Sidon hesitated once more, clearly having an a short but intense internal battle before letting out a soft sigh and nodding, “Okay, understood. Sit back for a moment, I’ll need to guide you a little.”
“Nothing like a Zora biology lesson to get you in the mood.” Link replied teasingly, scooting back a few inches to give Sidon some room. There was just enough light coming from the fire that he could clearly see the entirety of the Zora Prince’s front. His eyes unconsciously traveled down to Sidon’s crotch region, which was still as smooth and unbearing of anything resembling a penis as it ever was. If he were being completely honest, he’d have to admit that curiosity was overrunning excitement. Due to Sidon’s reaction to having to show off whatever it was that was Zora genitalia, he was more eager than ever to see it.
Chuckling, Sidon spread his legs open a little bit more, fully exposing his crotch region, “Do you see it?” he asked quietly.
“See what?”
“Give me your hand.”
Link obediently offered his hand to Sidon, who gently took it into his own. Bringing his hand down to his crotch region, he gingerly pressed the palm against the dip in-between his legs. Immediately, Link caught on to what the Zora Prince had been talking about. It was a little hard to detect but there was definitely something underneath his hand. A line? No, a slit, currently closed, which means, it could most likely open, probably with a bit of stimulation. Without waiting for a verbal prompt from Sidon, Link began to gently rub the heel of his palm against the quickly becoming pronounced edges of the slit. To his delight, Sidon immediately began to react, shuddering lightly and panting softly as he gently encouraged the slit to open up, excited to see what was hidden underneath.
Suddenly, an idea popped up in his head, a way to speed along this process just a little bit. Moving his hand away, he ignored the confused look that Sidon gave him, and scooted back further back, just enough that he could lie down on his stomach with his face directly in front of Sidon’s crotch. He felt the Zora Prince start slightly but, again, paid no mind to it. Now that he was closer, he could more clearly see the slit. The edges had become much more pronounced, no longer a stark white color but instead tinged with an adorable shade of pink. He still hadn’t gotten it to open up but he could tell that he was close. It just needed a little more encourage. With his pulse pounding in his temple, his breath falling hard and fast out of his mouth, and his dick rock hard once more in his trousers, he leaned forward, stuck his tongue out and pushed it gently but firmly against the bottom of the slit. As the loud, startled moan that Sidon let out rained down onto his head, an intensely weird but somehow immensely delicious taste flooded his mouth. It was sweet and bitter at the same time, a bizarre combination that immediately made him feel dizzy.
Drawing in a deep breath through his nose, the scent of Sidon’s musk driving the dizziness a notch further, he ran his tongue up the length of the slit, pausing at the top to suck lightly. He actually had no clue what he was doing or what he should do to make it feel good but he supposed the best way to find out was to try what seemed right. At least, he could tell that trying to force open the slit was a bad idea - he could imagine that probably was not a pleasant experience and it needed to happen naturally. Not that that bothered him, he was already enjoying himself. Sidon’s slit was tantalizing soft, tasted unbelievably amazing and it was clear his ministrations were well appreciated, if Sidon’s gasps and moans were any indication.
“Link,” he suddenly coughed out, “back up, back up!”
He didn’t want to move away but he could tell by the tone of Sidon’s voice that he should do what he says. Pulling his head back, he leaned up with the intention to ask the Zora Prince what was wrong, a little afraid he had done something to hurt him, when the slit abruptly opened up in a smooth, easy movement. A shudder passed through Sidon’s legs as two very large, pink lengths of flesh pushed themselves out to stand proudly in front of Link’s face. His mouth hung open in shock, his gaze filled with the startling sight of Sidon’s penises. The base shape, at least, looked similar to a Hylian penis but there was the similarities ended. For one, the head was shaped like an arrowhead with instead of a rounded tip, it was more angular and pointed. The texture of the penises almost, from look alone, seemed to be rubbery almost, as though they were flexible. And, of course, they were big - very, very big. This came of no surprise as he couldn’t imagine someone as big as Sidon having a tiny dick, that just didn’t correlate but he never expected his member to be that big.
There was also two of them. Tilting his head slightly, his eyes glued to the throbbing, twitching dicks in front of him, he quickly decided that was probably the most important detail. In the back of his head, he vaguely wondered why he had two, what purpose did that serve but quickly decided that was a question that could be asked later. Right now, rather than being nervous or uncomfortable by the strange dicks, he was actually even more excited. This was something entirely new and he was ready, willing and eager to explore it. Swallowing down the excess saliva in his mouth, he scooted back to his original position and softly asked, “Can I touch?”
“Yes, please.” Sidon breathed.
Quickly realizing that there really was no point in lying down anymore, Link shuffled into a sitting position, got himself comfortable, ignoring the throbbing erection begging for attention inside of his pants and cautiously reached out to wrap his hand around one of Sidon’s cocks. The Zora Prince let out a sharp, short breath, his large body shivering. Now that the dick was in his hand, he found it no more strange than holding his own. It was a bit slimy but also soft, hot and throbbing. He didn’t even get closer to getting his fingers all the way around it, though. His fingers weren’t even close to touching. Slowly, he slid his hand up to the head, paying close attention to Sidon’s reactions to make sure that what he was doing was appreciated. Again, it seemed as though his actions were much appreciated since the Zora Prince was making the cutest noises and after a quick glance up, he found that his eyes were closed, his mouth was halfway parted, soft, hard pants dripping out from between his lips, and his cheeks were a brilliant shade of blue.
The head was oddly firm and spongy underneath his palm. Immediately, he could tell that, just like a Hylian penis, the head of Zora penis was a highly sensitive area. Mostly because the moment his hand wrapped around it, the reactions from Sidon intensified. What had been a minute shudder running occasionally through the Zora Prince’s large body magnified into a constant shiver. Those adorable little noises he was letting out became more frequent, as well as a bit louder. Well, seeing how that was the case, there was only one course of action he could think of to do.
Tucking a length of hair behind his head, he slipped his hand to just below the head, leaned down, opened his mouth as far as it could go, straining his jaw a little in the process and pushed the head inside. It was so big that it could barely fit but his brain barely registered that. Instead, all he could really think about was that amazing taste, how soft the skin of his dick was and just how much he wanted to sink his mouth all the way down to the base, despite that meaning it going down his throat. In that moment, he wanted nothing more than to stuff his entire throat with Sidon’s cock.
He wanted Sidon to fuck his throat until it was raw.
The intense desire didn’t last for long as reason slowly bled back into his mind as the pain of his jaw being so strained brought him back to reality. Largely ignoring it but knowing he probably couldn’t keep this up for long, Link paid special attention to where his teeth were in relation to the head as he brushed his tongue against the spongy head. It was largely flat but intensely powerful tasting precum was leaking out of a small split that ran down the middle. He sucked the best he could but it proved to be a little difficult. Not that that mattered to him because Sidon...just listening to him alone was enough to nearly make him come. The normally composed, in control Zora Prince was currently gasping, mewing and melting underneath his ministrations. At some point, he had put one of his large hands on the back of Link’s head, fingers weaving through the silky strands.
He was feeling it. He was enjoying it. He was liking it. That meant more to him than any discomfort. He wanted to give him so much more, but could already tell that, just like him, Sidon was not going to last long. Quickly realizing that he was only paying attention to one of the dicks and let the other one out, Link reached around, wrapped his small hand around the large head and began to earnestly rub his palm against the flat edge.
“Link!” Sidon cried loudly.
Wishing he could smile but his mouth was just too full, he intensified his ministrations, wanting to drive Sidon to edge, wanting him to flood his mouth, to send scalding hot, copious amounts of his cum down his throat. He wanted to swallow every last drop of it. Craning his neck so he could look up at Sidon, he took great pleasure in seeing just how much he had unraveled. Mouth wide open, head thrown back, chest heaving, eyes squeezed closed, and, to his delight, a thin stream of saliva was slowly rolling down his chin - if that wasn’t the face of pleasure, he didn’t know what was. Abruptly, Sidon clenched his teeth shut, his head wrenching forward as he looked down at him with an intense, glowing gaze.
“Off!” He grounded out from behind his teeth, “Off, now!”
Not happening, Link thought distantly, hopefully conveying the same with his eyes. Though, neither of them were given the time as the moment after the words were out of Sidon’s mouth, his entire body spasmed, a loud, keening cry erupting from his mouth, his head jerking back as, inside of Link’s mouth, a different kind of eruption was happening. Link felt both of the cocks momentarily swell up before fluid was gushing in copious amounts into his mouth, He attempted to swallow it down but it soon proved to be too much. Regretfully, he pulled off, swallowing down a mouthful. However, he refused to move away so he caught the last few spurts on his face, chest and arms. Probably not the best idea, though he really didn’t care.
By the time Sidon was spent, there was a large amount of Zora jizz on him. He wasn’t covered but, understandably, it was a bit messy. Sitting back, taking the time to look down at the liquid on him, he licked away the cum from his lips. Swirling it around inside his mouth, coating every inch with the bitter taste of Sidon’s jizz, he decided that it tasted alright, not as good as what he supposed had been a natural lubrication to keep everything smooth and soft but still not nearly as bad as what he’s heard Hylian jizz could taste like. Glancing over at the Zora Prince, he was surprised to discover that, in opposition to how long it took to get the penises out, it hadn’t taken any time at all for them to go back in. There was only a slight hint of the slit remaining now. Blinking hard, he tilted his head and wondered if that was a conscious or unconscious thing - did Sidon control when they come out and go back in? Another question he would need to ask later.
“Was I even any good?” Link asked curiously, as Sidon slowly slumped forward tiredly, his head bowing down towards his chest. “I’ve never done that before so I can’t imagine I was any good at it.”
“Doing something like that is unheard of among the Zora.” Sidon said softly.
“Like what?” Link asked confusedly, wiping away the jizz from his face best he could.
“What you just did with your mouth. That isn’t something Zora do, I didn’t even know that was something that could be done.”
“Because of your teeth?” Link guessed, flicking the cum from his fingers.
“Precisely. Sharp teeth and genitals don’t exactly match.” Sidon replied, slowly raising his head.
His eyes immediately widened in alarm when he saw the state Link was in. Reaching forward, he yelped out an apology and became to fervently wipe away the mess on his face. Giggling mischievously, Link took hold of Sidon’s jizz covered hand, tugged it over to his mouth and, without breaking eye contact, playfully licked away a swatch from his skin. Sidon’s eyes widened, his shoulders tensing up. Then, they abruptly slumped as his head fell forward.
“Don’t rile me up anymore, please.”
“Oh? And what will happen if I do?” Link replied teasingly, licking off another patch.
In one quick, fluid motion, Sidon suddenly reached forward, grabbed his arm, yanked him forward until their chests bumped together. For a moment, he was worried he had made him mad but that was quickly disproven when the Zora Prince’s hand landed on his backside, and firmly squeezed one of the rounded, plump globes. A powerful jolt of tingling pleasure ran up his spine, causing his penis to twitch powerfully in response. Gasping into Sidon’s shoulder, he shamelessly rubbed his butt against Sidon’s hand.
“I may not have known that the mouth could be used for such pleasure but I do know that this can be used for intercourse.” Sidon purred into his ear, “I wanted to know how to make it work with you, even though I thought it would never happen. I explored the options, learned what to do and how the two of us could do such a thing, but it only heightened my lust. And now, with you right in front of me, I want nothing more than to claim you, to mate with you but we cannot do it here. At least, that is what the rational, in-control part of me is saying but the primal part, the one driven by instincts wants to push you down, spread you open and shove myself inside.”
Part of him wanted to tell Sidon to just do it, fuck the consequences and fuck him until he couldn’t stand in the morning, to shove both of his dicks so deeply inside of him that he could feel them bumping against the bottom of his stomach but he knew that was a stupid request. Even if they did decide to do it, there was no way that even a finger was going to get inside of him, let alone even one of those massive dicks. Despite never having actually done it with a someone else, his own fingers had been inside him often enough to know that even with his small fingers, a significant amount of lube and preparation was needed. Right now, they neither had the lube nor the patience to get through the preparation process. Though he did like it when it hurt a bit, he didn’t much like the idea of a very large dick suddenly being shoved up inside him. That was a little bit too much pain for his liking.
Just going for it was tempting because he wanted to but he needed to be realistic, “Promise me that’ll be one of the first things we do when we get out of here?”
Sidon chuckled, “I promise. One of? What would be the first thing?”
Link thought for a moment before easily replying, “I really want to sleep in a bed together with you. No playing around, just wrapped up in your arms and sleeping by your side. That would be my first thing.”
“I can arrange that.” Sidon replied, lightly nuzzling his neck, “I can give you half of the request right now, however. Not a bed in sight but I would delighted to have you sleep in my arms.”
There was nothing else, at that moment, that sounded more wonderful than being wrapped up in Sidon’s arms, surrounded by his scent. Now that all the excitement was winding down, he quickly realized he was exhausted. His limbs were getting heavy, his mind was becoming sluggish and he knew that in no time at all, he would barely be able to keep his eyes open. Nodding happily, he snuggled closer to the Zora Prince, unintentionally rubbing his still hard dick against his stomach. It twitched angrily in response, almost as though it was chastising him for forgetting about it.
“Do you want me to take care of that first?” Sidon asked, a hint of eagerness in his voice.
Okay, strike that. There was one other thing, at that moment, that sounded more wonderful than just falling asleep. Despite being very tired, he figured he could keep himself awake for one more orgasm. Slipping his arms off Sidon’s shoulders, he slid back, pushed himself a few inches away with the heels of his feet then, while coyly smiling up at the Zora Prince, he spread open his legs, revealing the very obvious bulge in the crotch area. Waggling his hips invitingly, he said, “You’re welcome to it.”
“Then, allow me to indulge myself just a little.” Sidon said, his voice dropping once again to a low, husky purr.
Reaching forward in a startlingly smooth motion, he gripped both of his legs, yanked him back but instead of sitting in down right in front of him, he kept pulling until Link was on his back then on his shoulders then not on the ground at all but instead, held upside down, one of Sidon’s arm tightly holding him around his midsection, his back against the Zora Prince’s chest and his legs dangling uselessly above him. He was so startled by the abrupt chain of events that he barely registered the fact that somewhere along the way, Sidon had shoved his pants down, exposing his bare buttocks to the cold, night air. Once he had managed to realize that, he was given no time at all to figure out just what Sidon was planning before the Zora Prince was spreading him apart with one hand and in the next moment, something wet and incredibly hot was pressed against his opening.
Tongue, he thought distantly, his mind already going funny. Tongue, tongue, tongue, that’s his tongue, he was licking an area that Link would have never thought to put a mouth anywhere near but now that there was a tongue there, he couldn’t bring himself to think about it. All he could really focus on was that Sidon’s long, limber, talented tongue was swirling teasingly around the puckered opening, occasionally pushing against it and spreading him open just a little bit. It was a strange, foreign feeling but one that he quickly got used to, and thus, one that almost immediately had him on the brink of orgasm. He really needed to work on his endurance but for now, he allowed himself to bask in the shudders of electric pleasure flashing throughout his body, making his toes curl and his heart pound. Arching his back, grinding his butt against Sidon’s tongue, Link, needing something to hang onto, set his hands on the Zora Prince’s thighs, curling his fingers so that his fingers were digging into his scaly skin.
He was coming close, the tingling at the base of his cock growing into a steady, loud, thrumming hum. Rivers of precum were currently flooding out of the tip, flowing down to create a large puddle on his chest. Seeming to sense that his orgams was quickly coming, Sidon picked up the pace and intensity, but didn’t go quite far enough for Link. He knew he needed a little bit more. Sure, he could reach up and jerk himself off until he came but he wanted something else to make him come. Reaching forward, he gripped hold of Sidon’s wrist and said through clenched teeth, “Inside! Fuck me with your tongue!”
A mighty jolt raced through Sidon’s body but he made no complaint or argument. Instead, he pushed the tip of his scalding hot tongue directly against his opening and with absolute ease, pushed inside. Now, it was Link’s time to jolt, his eyes going wide as the distinctively odd but immensely pleasurable feeling of a wet, wiggling, talented tentacle of a tongue pushed deep into him. Crying out loudly, he held on as best he could, forcing off his orgasm through sheer power of will - not yet, don’t end just yet, just a little while longer. Somehow, he managed to keep himself from coming but Sidon seemed determined to force him to him. With a soft chuffing sound, he began to swirl his tongue around inside, pushing up against the sensitive walls in a constant assault. Cries, mews and sobs of Sidon’s name fell free from his wide open mouth, along with lines of saliva as his inside were mercilessly invaded by the Zora Prince’s tongue. His mind was completely blank, filled with nothing but a loud buzzing noise as his orgasm coiled like a spring, tighter and tighter, inside the base of his groin.
He didn’t last much longer than that. When Sidon pulled his tongue almost all the way out, only to forcefully shove it back in, his self-restraint snapped. He came quietly, only letting out a choking sob as his orgasm tore through him, his eyes and mouth clenched shut, his fingernails digging into the Zora Prince’s skin. The world behind his eyelids went momentarily white. His body shuddered pleasantly, pleasure zipping through the network of his veins. As it faded away into a golden glow, he let out a long, gasping breath, slowly opening his eyes as Sidon carefully righted him. Dizziness immediately swamped him as all the blood rushed away from his head.
“Are you alright?” Sidon asked, stroking Link’s cheek with the pad of his thumb.
“That felt amazing.” Link reverently breathed, smiling tiredly.
Sidon smiled in response, tugging Link close, pulling up his pants as he did so, “I’m glad, that was a fine experience for me as well. One I’d like to do again sometime but for now, I think it's time we actually try to get some sleep.”
Yawning widely, pretty much on the verge of passing out, Link nodded. Lying limply in the Zora Prince’s arms, he let him move him around until they were lying beside the fire with Link being the closest to it, and the Sidon behind him. Snuggled up close to his chest, safely tucked into the natural curve of his body, covered by his arms and their legs intertwined, As they relaxed into one another, Link mumbled, “I’m going to need a bath so badly tomorrow.”
“A bath and a change of clothes.” Sidon agreed.
Link fell silent, feeling himself slipping away into slumber but before he was completely gone, there was one more thing he wanted to say. Pressing a warm kiss against Sidon’s chest, he said, “I love you, Sidon.”
A kiss was pressed against the crown of his head, followed by warm breath ruffling his hair. Curling his arms tighter around him, Sidon whispered, “And I love you, my little one.”
With those simple, profound, warm words echoing inside of his mind, sending waves of comfort washing over him, Link sighed happily, buried his face into the Zora Prince's chest and finally allowed sleep to claim him.

Books (BotW One-Shot)
[Takes place soon after the ending of the game. Mild spoilers!]
“Thank you again for all your help with Vah Ruta, Prince Sidon,” Zelda said with a slight nod of her head. Prince Sidon bowed low.
“It was an honor and a privilege, your highness,” he replied smoothly. He looked up and flashed the princess a smile and wink. Zelda had to resist the urge to roll her eyes, but she couldn’t stop the smile that came to her face.
“Are you sure you wouldn’t prefer to stay another day?” the prince continued as he leaned back up. “I’m sure the king would be more than happy to host you, as would I.”
Zelda shook her head. “I appreciate the offer, really, but I believe it best if Link and I began our journey to Hateno Village as soon as possible. There are some things I’d like to discuss with Purah about the Divine Beasts.”
“Another time then?” the prince offered. Zelda nodded. “And Link,” the prince continued, his attention turning to the swordsman standing beside Zelda. “If you’re ever around, let me know. I want to see how much that Zora armor improves your swimming.”
Link smiled and nodded, quiet as ever, but Prince Sidon didn’t seem to mind. Zelda assumed he’d picked up on Link’s quiet nature, just as she had before. With their enemy defeated, however, she was surprised that he still felt the need to remain stoic.
The journey to their designated midpoint was rather uneventful. The countryside had calmed down considerably the past few days as the last of Calamity Ganon’s monsters dwindled. The blood moon was no longer an issue, so once the monsters were defeated, they stayed defeated. It was a huge relief, especially after their journey to Zora’s Domain had been filled with so many of them. Link had mentioned the path being treacherous, but she’d severely underestimated the number and strength of the monsters along the way.
She was glad to have Link there with her, protecting her as he’d done all those years ago.
For a moment she’d turned to look at him as he rode slightly ahead of her. He looked exactly the same as when she’d last seen him, and yet somehow he seemed…older. The weight he carried himself with was that of a seasoned warrior. It made sense after everything he’d been through. She couldn’t imagine how hard his journey must have been, and she was awed at the strength it must have taken to face it.
Looking at him then, Zelda smiled to herself as she felt admiration well within her.
The sun was just beginning to set when they finally arrived at the Riverside Stables. There was no one else there, save for the people who ran it, and Zelda felt relief wash over her. It wasn’t that she didn’t like being with people, but she found it hard to relax when others were around. Years of growing up under the watchful eyes of an entire kingdom left their lingering effects.
Zelda looked up from her spot next to the fire at Link as he talked with the stable’s manager. Link was the sole exception to that rule, because he was the only other person who understood how that felt. He looked over suddenly, and when his eyes met hers he gave her a smile. She felt a small amount of heat rise in her cheeks, but she didn’t look away as she smiled back at him.
Words would never be able to describe how happy she was to have him back in her life.
Some time later, after they’d been fed – Link did most of the eating admittedly, still as gluttonous as ever she noted – Zelda found herself rambling about one of Link’s adventures.
“It still amazes me how little we know about the dragons,” she said, fascination bursting from every word, “especially since they’ve been alive for thousands of years! I had no idea that their scales were linked to the shrines like that. What I wouldn’t give for the chance to examine one.”
Link perked up suddenly. He reached over for his bag and began to rummage through it, but in his haste a few things spilled out onto the ground. Zelda giggled at his clumsiness and reached to pick the objects up, but when she finally laid eyes on them she froze.
“Link…is that...?”
The diary sitting there by the fire was unmistakably familiar, even after not having seen it for a hundred years. The leather cover was worn and stained, but as she reached down to pick the book up she swiped her palm over it and saw hints of the vines and flowers that used to adorn it so vibrantly.
“Where did you find this?” she breathed.
“The castle,” Link explained. Zelda looked up to see him staring firmly at the ground, attempting to hide his embarrassment. A thought crossed her mind.
“Did you read it?”
Even in the glow of the fire Zelda saw Link’s face turn a slightly redder shade. He nodded. They sat in silence for a moment as Zelda processed that Link had seen the things written in her diary. She had told him some things about her anxieties before, and she knew he was smart enough to pick up on others, but there were things in here that she hadn’t shared with anyone. Things that she kept buried deep inside and only allowed to exist externally on these sheets of paper. The thought of Link being privy to those thoughts, those fears, those secrets…she wasn’t sure how she felt about that. Partially mortified, and yet strangely relieved?
Link leaned down to collect the other books, but before he could put them back in his bag Zelda spoke.
“Wait, what are those?” she asked, glad to have something to distract her from the contradictory thoughts in her mind. The other two books had the crests of the royal family on them, but one was far more formal looking than the other. It had remnants of a golden border and white cover, and appeared to have some kind of utensil overlaid on the royal crest. A cookbook maybe? The other book was harder to figure out. Aside from the crest, the cover was mostly blank.
“I found this cookbook in the library,” Link said, handing the first towards her. Zelda took it in her hands and opened it up. The pages fell immediately to an entry near the end, and when she saw what it was she smiled.
“Fruitcake.”
“Your favorite,” Link added. Zelda nodded without taking her eyes off the page. What she wouldn’t give to have some right now. Unfortunately, her craving would have to wait. She placed the cookbook gently on top of her diary before looking back at the other book still in Link’s hand.
“And that one?” she asked. Link seemed more hesitant about this one for some reason. He wouldn’t meet her eyes, but he handed the book over to her. Zelda flipped open the first page, and when she recognized her father’s handwriting she gasped. For the next few minutes she read the journal in silence, an ache growing in her heart the further she got. As she read the last entry she couldn’t stop the tears that began to silently fall down her cheeks.
“He was proud of you.”
Zelda looked up at Link with teary eyes. Without a word he got up and joined her on her bench, silently offering his comforting presence to her. She accepted it, and leaned into him and rested her cheek on his shoulder before wrapping her arms around his waist. Zelda felt his arm drape across her shoulders, gently holding her to his side as the tears continued to fall.
“I…I didn’t know,” she managed, her voice cracking. “I thought I-I was just a disappointment to him.”
“You were his daughter,” Link responded. “I don’t think you could ever really disappoint him.”
“I just wish we’d had more time,” Zelda whispered. Link squeezed her arm and held her closer.
“I know,” he said gently. The fire crackled as they sat in silence for a while. Zelda’s tears eventually stopped, but the ache in her chest was persistent.
“Do you wish you could go back? To how things were before?” Zelda asked. She leaned back enough to look up at Link and watch as he considered her question. His eyes were focused on the fire for a long moment before they shifted to look at her. Zelda watched as his gaze softened.
“Yes and no,” he answered. Zelda waited for him to explain. “I would like to see our friends again, but back in that world I don’t think we’d be happy. All those expectations and duties hanging over our heads made us both miserable.” Link gestured to the open field in front of them. “Now we have the chance to live, and build our world even better than before, just like you said.”
Link’s answer triggered something in her heart, changing the ache there into a feeling far lighter. Happier. She looked into his eyes and smiled.
“I’m glad you’re here Link.”
Link smiled. “So am I.”

SidonxReader (Promises Pt3)
Pairing: Prince Sidon x Reader (LoZ:BotW) Genre: Romance!! BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT WE NEED Summary: The first time Prince Sidon was allowed…no asked to travel further away from his home than ever before. And for no less reason than to find help to save his people from a threat that his father had yet to explain to him! With only a small silver crest, a map and his best friend Link he makes his way to the first temple in order to remind the goddess herself of a long forgotten promise. What he finds there is not what he expected.
((HOLY COW SO MANY FAVS!! I hope I can make you all happy little bunnies with this chapter too!<3 Much love to all of you!))
The three of you had walked but a distance when the sun was beginning to set. All in all, you had to admit, the experience was less awful than you had expected.
Sure, the soles of your feet were burning , your eyes were getting tired, your stomach was aching strangely …
well, no, it was awful; but the world around you and the nature you got to see were almost enough to make up for the pain. So much space and open field around and above you- being ‘free’ like this could have been perfect if only you weren’t constricted by the flesh and bones that weighed you down. More than once you had allowed your thoughts to drift off into the blue skies, wishing you could join the clouds and the birds. Not that you would admit any of that to those shabby mortals though. Apart from the angry glare now and then you hadn’t communicated with anyone since the journey had begun. The others had talked. Small conversations about things from the past, anecdotes and small talk. You would have probably listened if you hadn’t been so angry still. The sky was already painted in a rich palette of orange and purple tones when Link decided it was time to set up camp. “Enough for today. We should rest for the night and continue our way once the sun rises.” The Hylian dumped his sword and shield on the ground. He stretched a little and started looking for firewood. “Huh, still no river or lake anywhere near us, what a pity…” The Zora joined his friend in picking up dry branches and leaves. “I’d much prefer to rest in a refreshing spring than out in the open for yet another night.” Rest? Now, here? “Will it be alright?” The blonde asked Sidon as they put layers of wood and leaves in a small heap on the floor. “Ah, no! Don’t worry about a thing! As long as I have the flask and the talisman I will be as fine as a fish in the sea- only without the sea!” Prince Sidon grinned and patted a small pouch on his side. “Again, thank you for your help Link. I know there is enough work to be done for the Champion of Hyrule as it is already… certainly she had a hard time letting you go.” He paused and watched while Link lit the fire. “I am sure Princess Zelda is missing her knight already.” The boy didn’t answer but his subtle smile and the rosy tint on his cheeks betrayed his silence. He’d left to help his friend in need because he wanted to; but saying that the princess was the only one missing someone would have been a lie.
“Come, sit with us.” A waving hand invited you to join the two men at the slowly awakening fire. You shifted your weight awkwardly from one foot to the other. “I can still walk…” Why do we have to rest here? “It’s getting dark. I know you are in a hurry just as we are too but…This is the wilderness, you never know what it is that you can encounter here in the dead of the night.” Link knelt down and put a sharp stick through an apple while he said this. The red cheeked fruit was put over the fire. “We rest here so we can cover more ground tomorrow without the fear of getting eaten alive.” His serious expression turned into an innocent smile. “Besides, aren’t you hungry too?” “Your feet must be hurting also- you shouldn’t strain yourself too much, young lady.” The Zora added with a calm tone. Your eyes wandered between the two. And the Apple. “It has been a long day…”, he said. His eyes lingered on you and he held out one hand, beckoning for you to come closer. “I….” The smell of the slowly roasting fruit started to float through the air. It smelled sweet and delicious. You knew you were hungry. You didn’t want to walk on those feet anymore- and the monsters scared you when you imagined them ripping apart the sensitive new body you inhabited. Pain, you thought, was the last thing you needed more of. A quick glance over your shoulder sealed the deal. You could walk into the darkness, alone, hurting and frightened. Or join these …people, you decided…for warmth, food and rest. Each step forward stung like walking on glass. You sat down between the two, looking at each of them warily. Link smiled and nodded while he patiently watched the apple over the fire taking on a bronze sheen. The Zora was for once not showing his sharp teeth. The smile on his face was there, however. Just a tad bit less flashy, a tad bit quieter than before. He shifted his gaze to the flames. And you couldn’t help but admire the play of light on his features as the fire shone on his form. Really, you hadn’t seen a Zora before in all of your years. You had seen countless Hylians and Humans back in the day- but never a Zora. He had such a different body, lean with a much longer torso than a Human or Hylian. …and he had fins like a fish! They were on the arms and the hips; thin, colourful layers adorned their edges. There were so many pretty colours on him…why was he even wearing those metal pieces…sure they were pretty too….but did he need them? You looked up to get a better view on him. The red fins that framed his face looked soft… “Hm? What is it?” The golden eyes snapped back to you. “Eh…” What…? OH…no! Of course you had openly stared at him! You got caught staring at the Zora because you hadn’t realized that this time- people would be able to notice you staring at them. Say bye bye to spying on people while being invisible! Another disadvantage this new shell had brought with it! Curses! You pouted and looked the other way, leaving him puzzled. But not for long. “Ha, I know- why don’t we use this time to finally introduce ourselves? Since you seemed so adamant about walking in silence we had no chance to do this earlier today. I shall start to make it easier on you!” He jumped to his feet and turned to look at you with a slight bow. The sudden enthusiasm made you jump a little. “I am Sidon, the Zora Prince, son of King Dorephan!” He recited this with his flashy grin again. The whole thing looked like it had been rehearsed, which you guessed was only normal for royalty. Not that you cared…you already knew both of their names from before, when they…. …ugh. Enough of that. “…and this young man—“ he gestured to Link and inhaled for the next sentence. “I am Link.” , the Hylian boy simply stated with a smile. Sidon stopped and gave a hearty laugh before he sat back down. “You are too humble, friend, as always!” “Now, young lady…” he said to you,” please, tell us your name.” You straightened your back, wanting to exude the natural grace your kind was gifted with. There was a proud smile on your face when you opened your mouth. “My name is….” And the smile faded. “…it’s…” Confusion replaced it. “..I am…” You gasped when realization hit you like a brick. You didn’t know. You had forgotten your own name! Had it been because you had slept too long? Did you even have a name in the first place? No, you did have a name. People had called upon you when praying in the past. … but now it was gone. You clenched your teeth and your fists. Tears threatened to well up in the corners of your eyes. You buried your face in the blanket. “This is all your fault…” the whisper was barely audible. “W-what?...” “You took my statue and my home and now I don’t even know my name anymore!” There they were, the tears rolling down your cheeks left and right. Your hands frantically wiped at your face while you were bawling your eyes out to your hearts content. “This isn’t fair!” You had it worse than a stray fairy, for it would at least have a home to go back to once it found it. “What am I gonna do now?” “Hey, now…” There was an arm around your shoulders. Between sobs you looked up to see a blurred version of the Zora scooting closer to comfort you. You let it happen, too weakened and too overwhelmed to reject the gesture. Too exhausted to proof your anger. “This is all a bit much right now, I know…” This is more than a bit, stupid fish… “…but we will do what is in our power to help you regain what is lost.” … “I give you my promise, as the Prince of the Zora.” …what do I care for the word of a mortal? That was what you thought, but strangely, you relaxed a little, still sobbing with the occasional hiccup. What a terrible day… …but it was also the day you learned about the first positive thing a body could give and receive: The comfort of a hug.
*******
You awoke with the first rays of the sun. Sleeping by the fire hadn’t been so bad. You had slept like a stone after a day of walking and the crying. There was already movement around the dying campfire. Link was getting ready, you noticed from your position curled up in the blanket and lying on the soft, mossy floor. You slowly sat up and looked around you. Sidon seemed to be awake too. He had rubbed your back a while longer the night before and then retreated a bit further away from the fire to escape the heat it produced. “Hey!” A finger tapped your shoulder. “Feeling better?” Link held out a roasted apple, cold but certainly still tasty. You grabbed it and smiled a little for what felt like the first time in ages. “For some reason, yes.” “Must be the morning air.” He winked. You lifted a brow at him, the question mark in your eyes big and bright. He simply lifted his face to the sky and inhaled, and then he looked back at you. You did as he did and immediately noticed what he meant. No words needed. The air that filled your lungs was pure and fresh, it felt uplifting, as if your chest swelled with new energy just from breathing in and out.
“A wonderful morning!” A few minutes later you were already licking the residue of the apple juices off your fingers when the Zora Prince joined Link and you at the ashes of the campfire. “Prayers all done?” Prayers? “Yes, we can leave now. I guess I am a little homesick after all. It shouldn’t take too long the next time.” He looked a little saddened and you almost felt bad for him. Almost. Until you remembered you statue and your temple. Not your name though… Had there been a ‘Thank you’ stuck in your throat somewhere, because he had helped you calm down yesterday, then it was pushed back down into the depths of your belly again this instant. Right next to the tasty apple. You watched him with a slightly sour expression while he took a flask filled with silver liquid from the pouch on his side. “What’s that?” You asked when he uncorked it, ready to take a sip from the potion. “Ah, this.” He stopped from raising it to his mouth to examine the flask. “This is the medicine the doctors in our domain have given me to help me in our journey. It tastes horrible and is almost too thick to swallow but it is the only thing that prevents the Zora body from taking damage from the life away from water.” He took a sip from it and shuddered, making the decorative ornaments on his body give off a metallic rustling sound in the process. “My people usually don’t venture too far off from home as without this medicine we would likely die if we didn’t find a body of water after some time. You see, we are not exactly made to life the life of a Hylian for example. This medicine had been in the works for some time already… who would have thought I’d be the one to test it, haha!” His chest swelled with pride for a moment. “ It works wonders I must say!” “So…you die if you don’t get it. Or water.” “Yes, it is important I take it at least once a day!” “I see- then please make sure you take it.” “There is no need to worry about me, my lady.” An almost invisible hue of pink graced the Zora’s cheeks. He put the flask back in the small pouch and cleared his throat.
“I am not worried.” You crossed your arms in front of yourself. “You owe me at LEAST a statue and a temple. I need you  to stay alive until you make good on your promise. Last time I heard the Zoras’ sculptures and masonry is simply without parallel… ” Sidon’s mouth dropped into the roundest ‘o’ with the sharpest edges. …why… “A-and also, I don’t need more things to cry about until we reach the next temple, so make sure you keep an eye on your health.” You looked away with a bright pink blush across your face. The Zora Prince chuckled. That laugh again. “Oh, I will! Really, there is no need to be afraid of anything happening. And I stand for my word, a statue and a temple, then. It really is the least I can do.” And that smile. And worst of all- those stupidly golden eyes.
You had felt a lump in your throat and another one in your chest when he had looked at you with that shocked face. Adorable. And the smile now? Beautiful. Yesterday there was so much new to see around you- and of all the things you had found yourself staring at the Prince was the one you had stared at most. Today you’d manage to steer clear of staring at him. Probably. You hoped.
You wouldn’t see him again after you got your home back. So who cared if you stared a little?! NO! BAD! Stop staring! But there were more problems. You didn’t know how to get rid of this mortal body. Or how to remember your name. Or how to ignore those feelings.
Those stupid feelings inside you, that you were sure only mortals should have to deal with.
