chapter one: meeting lissa

Ellie only really knew Lissa from afar. She'd been dating Daan for almost a year but Daan had always kept her at arm's length from Lissa. Everyone knew they were dating except Daan's daughter, the person that Ellie knew was most important to her girlfriend. As far as Lissa knew, she was just her mum's friend and teammate no different from anyone else. Ellie was still sneaking out in the mornings and sneaking in in the evenings. Lissa was six now so she'd never known a time really before Daan had dated her ex, Beth, and the break-up had hit her hard. Ellie had seen a lot of it from afar so she understood Daan's position, it was just a bit awkward when Lissa was thrust towards her because everyone assumed they knew each other.

It was fine, though, she managed it. She just wanted to be with Daan and she knew that Daan would eventually tell her or she would find out. Until then, Ellie has started to make sure she took note of what Lissa liked. At school and to eat for dinner, the books she read and TV shows she watched. Daan talked about it a lot and she still had conversations with Lissa where she could learn things, Ellie figured she'd have to get her girlfriend’s daughter on side at some point and she was ready. She had brushed up on her dinosaur knowledge and some Dutch. The Dutch was hard, though, she was already struggling to learn French and it was just another complicated language.

vasilissa could admire the kind of killer that cato was. it wasn't her style. she was quiet and deadly, and that had always worked for her. it still worked for her. brute strength could be just as useful though, and he proved that. she'd been given access to his academy scores, and his scores from tribute training. and now, well, she saw further potential. she'd gone out of her way to find a time when he was alone, because she didn't intend to lie to him about her identity like she did with most people. she bided her time, not wanting to put him on edge. part of her had wanted to toy with him, to follow him for as long as she could before he realized, but even for her that was cruel, especially when she wanted someone on her side.

she'd never been in two, and she knew the longer she spent out in the open the more attention she'd draw. she didn't want just anyone's attention, she wanted his. she settled on finding him in his home, knocking sharply on the door and waiting. she stood on the stoop, the strange feeling of missing her own district washing over her. four was much different, but she hadn't been home since her games. she didn't see anything familiar and yet... she straightened, pushing away the thoughts of four and of the sea she forced herself not to miss. she had business here.

Alarms blaring was more than enough to tell her just how screwed they were. Whoever had set off an alarm, Alisa had no idea; she hadn’t set any off crawling through the stupid ventilation shafts, and nothing had been set off from here. There had to be some kind of inside source, someone who had tipped the rest of the facility off to their arrival. It was the only answer that she could think of… and it seemed the rest of her team shared that sentiment.

“Jee, couldn’t tell,” Liss replied sarcastically over the comms, cursing under her breath. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go. Here she was, deep in the facility, unarmed, after crawling through the stupid vents, and somehow someone had screwed them over. It couldn’t be one of the scientists; most of them were either dead, or they were cowering in the corner while she did her damnedest to figure out a way for them to get out of there.

Checking the security feeds that she could see, Liss brought up the schematics, checking where the alarms were. Not anywhere near their position, yet there were guards moving in on them. She could see another alarm, near the entrance she’d opened for the rest of their team—led by Eron, no less—to get into the facility for assistance, but right now she felt like she was a sitting duck.

“I hope you’re moving a lot faster than these damn guards are, because if you’re not, I’m about to be up shit creek without a paddle if you’re not!” Not that she couldn’t do anything unarmed—she was a talented biotic, after all—but damn it if she didn’t feel like things were going to be very difficult if she didn’t at least have a gun for the moment she was going to need it.

At least she wouldn’t be difficult to find: the sound of explosions—and not the fiery kind, but the sound of volatile biotic chain-reactions—would be enough of a signal.

set in the same verse as When does a Saint Become a Monster? as a sequel memories time-travel fix-it fic. i did a poll not too long about which pov i should go for and who should be the ones to keep their memories should i write such a fic, and @d-lissa proposed that everyone remembers except reborn from reborn's pov. if i ever actually commit to write this fic i don't think i'll actually go for this combination (sorry missi 💔), but i love it so much i just had to write something for it. so yeah, enjoy!

Nana Sawada's overjoyed at finding his flyer in her mailbox. She puts it safely in her pocket, and both she and him wait excitedly for Tsunayoshi to come back from school as she goes on about her day.

He comes back early, too early for him to not be skipping school again, but Nana waits for the school to call her before going to his room. Reborn follows after her, still concealing his presence, and swiftly slips inside Tsunayoshi's room unnoticed as soon as Nana cracks the door open.

"Don't barge into my room!" Tsunayoshi shouts, sitting from where he was lying on the floor, reading a manga.

"You can live your entire life bored like you are right now," Nana smoothly continues chiding him, "or live it happily. I want you to live feeling 'It's great to be alive!'."

Reborn listens with one ear as the conversation leads to Nana bringing him up, taking Tsunayoshi in. Of course, he's seen him before, has been watching him these past couple of weeks, but never from that close before.

Even from that close, not only there's nothing noteworthy about Tsunayoshi Sawada, but he's obviously lacking in many ways and to non-negligible extents too. He hasn't any potential to speak of either, not any Reborn has noticed yet anyway, but that's fine. Makes it even easier in a way, being free to build him from the ground up without any insufficient and inadequate preexisting foundations to get in his way.

Potential's never had anything to do with Reborn's flawless rate of success anyway, whether its presence or lack thereof. He got offered a job he decided to accept, and he doesn't plan to be anything less than perfect at it.

"I refuse to have a tutor, OK!" Tsunayoshi snaps at his mother again, now standing. "I'm not good at anything I do anyways!"

Reborn smirks. There goes his cue.

He comes out of his hiding spot, his suitcase in hand, standing in the middle of the room between Tsunayoshi and Nana. "Ciaossu," he greets them. "I arrived three hours early, but as a service, I'll evaluate you now."

Tsunayoshi goes stone-still, not even breathing anymore from the look of it. He doesn't dare to blink either, his eyes intent on him.

From the look in his eyes, he's as confused by his reaction as Reborn is. It isn't among the ones Reborn predicted from him.

"Hey... whose kid are you?" Nana asks, concern in her voice.

Reborn keeps his eyes on Tsunayoshi, watching him right back just as intently. "I'm Reborn," he starts slowly, boring his eyes into him, unwilling to miss even the slightest twitch of any of his muscles that might be a clue as to what he missed, "the home tutor."

Tsunayoshi gasps, something so soft Reborn doesn't even hear it, only sees his mouth part open. Something broken too from the way his chest rise and fall in a stutter.

His eyes go wide and become empty, looking at him but seeing right through him. Unseeing of everything in his sight altogether, yet looking at whatever his mind's showing him right now.

It's the same look that sometimes takes over Lal and Colonnello. The brief and merciful ones where they can remain frozen through it, their mind disconnecting from the present reality and trapping them in one of their own making.

But nothing about what he learned about Tsunayoshi hinted at this being something he goes through too, and he's learned everything there is to know about him. He thought he did. Did do so, because Reborn's nothing but thorough.

And what would have even triggered him? Him?

"Tsuna?" Nana calls out worriedly, stepping forwards.

It takes only a couple of seconds before Tsunayoshi snaps back to himself. Blinks back to himself, in fact, gasping, much louder and harsher than before, a desperate sound to it.

They catch each other's eye again, have never stopped looking at each other, but now Tsunayoshi sees him again too, a full-body flinch makes him stumble back.

He falls on his knees, whimpering, the tears in his eyes spilling out down his cheeks. He heaves, doubling over, but nothing comes out of his mouth as he slaps his hand against it. He lowers it to his chest, clutching at it and wrapping his other arm around his stomach tightly, as if… as if nursing a wound or trying to keep pain at bay, there’s no doubt about it.

He gasps for breath fast and hard, struggling to find it, and the strangled sobs he can't quite hold back only make it harder. Only make him curl over himself more as they tear through him, his hair falling in front of his eyes and hiding his face from sight.

"Tsuna!" Nana shouts, but Reborn stretches his arm to the side before she can rush to him.

"Wait."

"Don't."

Nana pauses, stunned at the order that echoes Reborn's own.

Reborn lets it hang in the air, deciding on what to make of it, the corners of his lips twitching up.

Tsunayoshi doesn't look any less... like he's unraveling than before, still gasping for breath and crying, yet there's no doubt he was the one to speak. There's no doubt it was an order too despite the tears strangled in his throat, as well as a warning.

If Reborn was a lesser man he'd second-guess himself about it, but he isn't.

A warning against what though? Speaking to his mother in that manner? Giving orders around like he owns the place? Meddling in a situation he has no business stepping in?

Reborn isn't so sure about the last one when he seems to be the cause of it to begin with.

Tsunayoshi blindly reaches out with a shaking hand. "Mom…" He sounds like the whine of a wounded animal, snapping Nana out of her stupor.

She's on her knees at his side in a blink, her hand in his, her other arm wrapped around him and holding him tight against her. "I'm here, Tsu-kun, I'm right here. What is it, what do you need? What can Mama help you with?"

Tsunayoshi holds onto her hand tightly like he has no intention of ever letting go of it again, his knuckles white and his nails digging into her skin. He doesn't answer her, but her soft voice and comforting words ease his breathing to a steady one and slow down the flow of his tears down his cheek.

He eventually straightens himself, catching his eye again. A long beat of silence passes as they look at each other.

Tsunayoshi's eyes gleam with tears again, but he doesn't let them fall. It looks like a struggle not to, the features of his face twisted in... not quite pain. And amidst the conflict on his face, there's warmth and fondness, happiness too, even, at his sight.

Maybe even..., but Reborn's too good to not second-guess himself on this one, instead reserving his judgment for later once he'd have had more time to observe.

Something that could be a smile curls up Tsunayoshi's lips. Something that would have been a smile too, perhaps, in different circumstances. "Reborn."

Reborn blinks slowly, can't help it.

It was strangely imploring, the sound of his name in his mouth. Yet at the same time, it was strangely accusing too.

In any case, he said it with recognition, with familiarity.

Did Iemitsu already speak to him about the mafia? No, there's not a chance he did.

Then, did someone manage to slip past Iemitsu's watch and bring the mafia to him before Reborn could? Unlikely, to say the least, yet…

"You know me?" Reborn asks.

Tsunayoshi laughs. It sounds pained, something a little more than a breath that leaves his throat raw in its wake, and he brings his hand to his mouth to cut it short. He squeezes his eyes shut, squeezing his mother's hand even tighter than before, and takes a slow and deep breath.

It seems to help him put himself back together. He stands, drying his eyes, Nana standing with him, and gently lets go of her hand, stepping away from her hold. He faces him, standing straight, shoulders squared but relaxed, looking at him straight in the eye.

Staring him down.

Reborn almost barks out a laugh, but restrains himself to a wide smirk that's all teeth.

Is he staring him down now? Staring him down? No-Good Tsuna?

Oh, how long has it been since Reborn felt so excitedly curious? He doesn't know what's going on, can't even begin to guess at it, but he has every intention to find out sooner than later.

Later though. For now, all he knows is that the boy in front of him looks nothing like the boy he watched these last couple of weeks, or the pitiful, weak and breaking down boy on his knees from only a couple of seconds ago.

All he knows is that a boy—a civilian stands in front of him like they're equals even as he clearly knows better than to be fooled by his appearance, a calm, confident resolve in his eyes and no hint of fear to be seen anywhere.

Reborn steps forwards. "Do you know me?" he asks lightly, easing up his smirk into a slight curl of his lips upwards and waiting to see if Tsunayoshi will see through his threat anyway.

He looks like he does, yet only a smile that doesn't reach his eyes graces his lips. "Reborn." His voice is soft, but cold. Full of recognition and familiarity still, but full of distance too in the way he doesn't let it shake him. "Leave. Or I'll make you."

Forceful Intervention AU - Supporting Cast

The Masterpost for the Forceful Intervention Verse got ridiculously long and reached the character limit, so I opted with making a post for the supporting character cast instead of stressing over trying to make everything fit into one singular post.

Without further ado, meet the cast of OCs!

Lissa Colo'Ba - A natborn officer who served with the GAR while under the command of Jedi General Chora Tuteru and the 209th Battalion (aka Avis Squadron). Known simply as Dove (a nickname given to her by the troopers of the 209th), this mysterious pilot has a past that links her both to the Jedi and Mandalorians alike, in more ways than just her service record. Like the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover.

Maeleen Eppa - The renegade daughter of two very corrupt senators, Mae was reluctantly conscripted into the GAR after finding herself in hot waters with both her parents and the Republic (after accidentally stumbling into Separatist space while trying to run away from her home planet of Poluzitania). Spending the majority of the war serving under the 104th as an engineer and mechanic, her loyalty towards both Jedi Master Plo Koon and the 104th became the driving force for her rebellion against the Empire.

Zed Kwinde - A strong Force Empath that was raised as a Guardian of the Whills for the Kyber Temple of Jedha. He grew disillusioned due to feeling powerless in the face of war, as he could sense the misery and pain of others but was not allowed to interfere as that was not his battle to face. Unwilling to sit around idly, Zed fled the temple and completely reinvented himself, becoming somewhat of an expert in cybernetic enhancements, slicing and marksmanship. While he comes off as snarky and selfish, his intentions are often much purer than they seem.

The Golden Ladybug Crew - One of many brothels in Coruscant's red light districts that has allied itself to the Coruscant Guard, due to having formed a mutual respect for each other's street-savvy survival skills. The Golden Ladybug is not only open to clone troopers who have nowhere else to go, but also often provides supplies and information to the Guard in exchange for protection from the shadier folks who threaten the Madam's business and affairs.

The 105th/Petrichor Company - The veteran troopers of Krell's defunct Battalion, who could not be relegated to other Jedi due to their distrust of Force Users. Having initially worked with the 501st to try to rehabilitate them, several incidents involving in-fighting and excessive violence ended up forcing the Jedi to leave them under the Coruscant Guard's jurisdiction, in the hopes that some community service might help them get along better with "outsiders". The 105th was then assigned to work with the Golden Ladybug, who through sheer commitment and infinite patience, managed to rehabilitate the traumatized troopers.

Scully & Erin - An unlikely duo of a Changeling with connections in the Coruscant Underbelly, and an AgriCorps Jedi Ruurian. Scully and Erin both have ties with clones that (despite the horrors of Order 66) have clearly not been sullied or forgotten, as they are always willing to lend a hand to whomever most needs it. Even while on the run. The two travel with ex-501st Trooper Nax (known to them as Hobbs) who they rescued from Daiyu.

Metronome Squad - A batch of clone troopers divided among four battalions who maintained close contact throughout the war. They were ultimately separated by the tragedy of Order 66, but later managed to reunite with each other (those who were left anyway). The group consists of Rhythm (Communications Officer of the CG), Pitch (Clone Medic of the 501st), Beat (ARC Trooper of the 104th) and Tacet (ARF Trooper of the 212th).

Guard Remnant - A group of surviving Coruscant Guard troopers with faulty inhibitor chips, that managed to flee the heart of the Empire after Order 66 went out. Comprised primarily of riot troopers and unofficially lead by Slick, the Guard Remnant has made of the town of Bakkskrash their home and keep the settlement protected with the help of Dogma and Rhythm (whom both accidentally became the sole law enforcement for the entire town).

Sponge Clan - A tight-knit family unit comprised of ex-501st clone medic Sponge, their partner Hugo Espin, their adopted clone children, hybrid clone child Molly, Pitch of Metronome Squad (who at the time was having issues reconciling with Rhythm, thus had nowhere else to go), scuba trooper Penguin, heavy gunner Lichtenberg (who was considered MIA on Umbara but managed to survive by the skin of his teeth) and several pets (the most notorious being Beautiful, Sponge's barghest companion and most trusted friend). They are not immediately allied to any of the many Mando clans whom seem to have taken an interest in them, instead focusing on the Guard Remnant and the town of Bakkskrash.

AI Troopers - AI copies of Fives and Tup that were created from brain-scans that were done prior to their deaths. It's unknown who exactly created these AI copies, or what reason they had to do so, but the experiment seems to connect to one of Palpatine's various Immortality projects.

The Lost Children of Mandalore - Several Mandalorian clans that reside in Epifania, after their ancestors settled there while on the run from the Mandalorian Wars. While the clans sometimes don't see eye to eye, they are united in their affinity for the clone troopers who have sought shelter on their quaint little planet.

The Golden Pye-Dogs - A band of pirates that have allied themselves to the Guard Remnant and the Sheriff of Bakkskrash. While most don't understand why these scheming scoundrels would willingly work with law enforcement of any kind, one can't ignore the fact they seem to have an adopted clone child as the factor behind this particular choice.

The 13th Sister - Once an AgriCorps Jedi and dear friend to Erin, Kera Brookii willingly became an Inquisitor in the pursuit of power. Having grown disillusioned with the Jedi Order's seemingly "unfair" training policies, Kera felt like her potential was wasted and sought revenge on those who she assumed looked down on her. Cruel and manipulative, she is suspicious of Zed's activities as a mercenary for the Empire, being sure of him being a double agent. None of the other Inquisitors believe her however, as they consider her traitorous by nature and far too power hungry to ally themselves with willingly.

Sulu Ra, the Mad Cloner of Kamino - A microbiology specialist on Kamino. He was adept at perfectly replicating microorganisms that comprise the majority of a being's internal and external body flora, thus helping their products to live outside of lab conditions, making Sulu Ra's work an important part of the cloning process. However, due to his morbid curiosity of natural mutations and hybridization, interest in bio-weaponry, and natural dislike of wasting resources, the once highly sought out microbiologist became a nuisance that actively tampered with the cloning process to indulge in his own sick and twisted experiments. His list of victims includes Tup and Dogma, Olly's entire batch, two entire battalion's worth of rookies, and many more beings that they themselves created from scratch.

Aoife - A mysterious young lady with seemingly omniscient knowledge of the world around her. No one knows where exactly she came from, but Aoife seems to have good intentions regardless of her strange nature. She saved Hardcase from a fate she herself says was impossible for him to have been relegated to because it just "didn't make sense in the story".

The Rascal Gang - A group of kids who's parents were either a part of the rebellion or who were clones. Mismatched in all sorts of ways, this oddball group seems to have ended up on the Colossus, and are on the lookout for something. What exactly that something is, remains unknown (but likely has to do with the Resistance).

2022 Favourites

In no particular order. This is content I've read and watched in 2022, not necessarily content released in 2022.

Books

1. A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland: m/m heroic fantasy + non-binary characters. This was one of my most expected novels of the year and I was fully satisfied with the result. One of the protagonists suffers from severe anxiety.

2. [French] L’Héritage des Rois-Passeurs by Manon Fargetton: portal fantasy with a lesbian protagonist. The French language in the secondary world is different, but I don't know if the author invented the variations or based them on something real.

3. Sword Dance by AJ Demas: m/nb historical fantasy. This trilogy takes place in a fictional world based on Ancient Greece. It's a delightful mix of intrigue and domesticity shenanigans.

4. The Hollow Star Saga by Ashley Shuttleworth: f/f and m/m urban fantasy (YA). This series about the fae also includes a touch of Greek mythology. I care a lot about all the characters.

5. Youngblood by Sasha Laurens: f/f urban fantasy (YA). This is my favourite queer vampire novel. It's an excellent mix of vampire lore, romance and mystery.

6. The Magic Between by Stephanie Hoyt: m/m magical realism. The characters have superpowers, but it's not superhero fiction. It's a fun bi4bi romance.

7. One Verse Multi by Sander Santiago: m/m/m science fiction with a trans male protagonist. This is my favourite read of the year. I loved the science in this story and how the author played with the Mandela effect (false memories shared by many people).

8. Safe and Sound by EM Lindsey: m/m romance. This is a very moving hurt & comfort novel. This author always does a great job with the intersectionality of queerness and disability, deafness and vertigo in this case.

9. If You Still Recognise Me by Cynthia So: f/f romance. This novel is about identity (queer, but also British and Cantonese) and fandom.

10. [Spanish] Anne sin Filtros by Iria Parente and Selene Pascual: f/f/m romance with a trans male protagonist (YA). This novel is also about queerness and fandom. I've read several books by these authors and this is my fave.

 TV shows

1. Ancient Detective: murder mystery/wuxia with BL vibes + a non-binary character in the last few episodes. While this c-drama is mostly m/f, I appreciated the queer touches, as well as the complex plot.

2. Legend of Yunze: GL wuxia. This c-drama is a quick watch, with episodes that are only a few minutes long. What's nice is that the f/f is not very censored for a Chinese show.

3. The Lost Tomb/DMBJ franchise: adventure/fantasy with BL vibes. This c-drama franchise kept me busy for a good part of the year and I estimate that I've seen about half of it. It covers a genre that is relatively rare in Western shows.

4. Bulgasal: urban fantasy with a queer-coded villain. Sure, queer-coded villains aren't the best form of representation, but the one in this k-drama is very well-written. The reincarnation plot is fascinating as well.

5. Vampire Academy: urban fantasy with some f/f and some m/m (YA). I loved the movie way back and I'm glad that they've added queer representation to the show, even though it would have been even better if they had made the Lissa/Rose subtext canon.

6. Wednesday: murder mystery/urban fantasy with a probably a-spec protagonist (YA). This is a delightful adaptation of the Addams Family, true to the old movies.

7. Love in the Air: BL romance. This addictive Thai drama is my favourite show of the year. Payu/Rain are my fave couple, they're so playful and loving. For Prapai/Sky, there's a lot of hurt & comfort, which gave me so many feels.

8. Semantic Error: BL romance. This k-drama's protagonist is on the autism spectrum. It's enemies-to-lovers, or rather annoyances-to-lovers.

9. She Makes My Heart Flutter: GL romance. This k-drama is a quick watch. I love that it mostly focuses on sapphic friendships.

10. Heartstopper: m/m romance with some f/f and a trans girl (YA). I love the webcomic and the adaptation is really well done. It's such a sweet story.

Daan watched Lissa eat her breakfast, she was a lot quieter than usual, and the whole place was a lot quieter than usual.

“Can I go take Ellie her breakfast?” Lissa broke the silence and Daan looked over at her, “I miss her.”

“She’s hurting a little bit at the moment, schatje,” Daan ruffled her hair, “Maybe in a few days.”

“Please, please, please,” Lissa begged, “I can be careful and I want to give her Luuk so she hurts less.”

I'm beginning to think there might have been discourse/debate between KT and IS regarding the Fodlan games. We'll never know of course but it would be amusing if that's the case considering how it translated to their audience.

Some people already thought about it, and while Nopes was a heavily marketed/produced product by KT, at the end of the day, even for FE16, IS had to pop in and give a sign of approval.

I think the interview for Engage more or less revealed that while the two games weren't developed together, they were thought of as being wildly different experiences - both in gameplay and story, and while I have my own gripes with Engage's story especially in the last chapters, Engage's big character resolution is

Alear coming to terms with what they were born as, but deciding, nonetheless, to use their power to be and act as the divine dragon Lumera was, aka use their power to do something "good" even if they were born as Sombron's kid thus supposed to do "bad" things.

Compare this with "crust BaD" - nowhere in the Fodlan games is it ever mentionned, by one character who has a crust, that crust is only a power and not inherently bad or good, it's what you decided to do, you as someone who has the opportunity to use this power, who ultimately choose to do the right thing, or the wrong thing.

Hell, it's only when Fodlan met another game (fully developed by IS, for better and worse) that his question is raised, and quickly eluded by Supreme Leader warping away from Lissa, because hey, in an IS game, that question would have been raised, and defaulting to "crusts BaD" has never been the house's recipe to make a game - especially since this specific recipe has been overused, first in FE Jugdral (Loptyr blood isn't inherently evil, that was the teaching Blaggi tried to promote that was later ignored and then forgotten), then, sort of in FE6 (no Fa, divine dragons aren't doomed to become souless war dragon producing machins or humanity's enemies!), in FE13 with Robin and their fell blood, and finally, in FE17.

I think, even if FE16 still sells a lot of alts in FEH and DLC and what not, the lack of side materials and goodies is, imo, telling enough about what IS wants to do with it - FE17 got a manga release on the shonen jump + (i think?) even when the sales are inferior to FE16's (granted, if we compare something that was around for 4 years including 2020 to a game released in January, that's not very fair) - Nopes's DLC was called off and bar FEH milking the Fodlan verse to sell units, imo, IS wants to drop it and move forward.

And while it makes me sad because there are things I'm legit interested in (war of heroes guide like the tellius recollection guide plz), given what "Fodlan" ended up when KT was left (mostly?) alone in the form of Nopes (you effing beat up refugees to steal their gold! Like, we're the red units beating the green npcs, or the bandits burning houses??) - I am less and less sure I want to see more Fodlan content, even if I was pleasantly surprised with the Fodlan content - especially regarding Nabateans who are completely ignored by their source game - IS made up for FEH.

Sure we have some issues that are inherent to FEH's nature as a gacha selling game cajoling units who can sell a lot (Hilda's family never had slaves unfed servants! Syrup just had some adventures in Goneril!) but to the FEH team - from IS - Sothis is more pissed at Agarthans for having genocided her children and turned them into pincushions than for Billy's dad's death.

Hell, for what it's worth, Emblem!Dimitri mentions how much he likes the idea of a world/place without discriminations based on origins or races, something he cannot say in the KT Fodlan games, because it stars Ms "You are a Nabatean, you should not rule over Humans!" as the main character of the game - so it's not a lot, but imo, FEH + FE17 gives us clues as to what IS would have done with the Fodlan cast -

Even if I'm not kidding myself, Hresvelg Tea was always supposed to be the main selling point of that verse, so while I don't think we would have had less uwus, maybe we might have had some sort of "sekrit brainwash" to make Ashnard in an onesie still be marketable for FEH.

So I couldn't decide if I wanted her to find out the truth or not before Huaisang revealed it at first but I finally decided that I didn't. Instead I figured it would be interesting for doubts to somewhat creep in but her desperately push those thoughts away because she didn't want to believe it and then everything coming to light and seeing that those doubts were valid. It's painful lol. The other is romance plot with JC (because she's a self insert and I love him lol). In my mind and the fanfic I'm writing they become close friends during the Gusu lectures and discuss the possibility of courting but then Sunshot happens and the rebuilding of Lotus Pier. Once things finally settle and the idea comes up again the stuff with WWX happens and she has a hard time accepting that everyone thinks it's best to get rid of him, which causes strife but eventually they come back around and finally get to lol. This one I know is very very specific xD

Send me a ☀ for me to talk about someone I’ve met through rp: Once again, SO MANY. The majority of my online friends are my friends because of role play. But it would be a disservice to not discuss my first ever online friend for this. In around 2009-2010 I got into the book series Vampire Academy. A year or so before that was when I started role-playing on the internet. My website of choice at the time was something called bebo that no longer exists. Well, one of my rl best friends and I loved Vampire Academy so much that we not only role played two main characters: Rose & Lissa but we also made ocs that were their children and shipped them together. We decided to make bebo accounts for them and one day I found an account that was a daughter of Rose, which would make her my oc's sibling. We started talking and decided to make them twins and my friend also became friends with her. We started talking more and more and eventually my irl friend and I video chatted with her. We had already become friends at the time and that just cemented it. We continued role playing together, coming up with new storylines for our original ocs, as well as role playing in different fandoms together such as Star Wars, Supernatural, Yu-Gi-Oh, Descendants, etc. And I'm talking almost a decade. At one point she and I got into a bit of a disagreement and stopped talking for a little while and I regret it a lot because shortly after we started talking again she unfortunately passed away, in 2019, before I got to meet her in person. I miss her a lot and haven't been able to write in the Vampire Academy verse since.

I was able to get my Spotify account recovered, so here is the Neither Crows Nor Eagles playlist! Most of these are Lissa songs or Kpp'Ar songs or Lissa and Kpp'Ar songs, but there are a couple Soren and/or Claudia songs in there. A couple are just vibes. One is the song that titled the whole AU.

Unfortunately, I discovered that one of the tracks I wanted to put in is from that artist's ONE album that's not on Spotify, so I replaced it with another song that I cut during an earlier revision pass. If you want the truly authentic experience, replace "Monster In The Wall" with "Foxes and Sunflowers" by Flower Face.

"Monster In The Wall" is also a great song for Soren, but leans more toward canon-verse. Also just generally a bop.
