I'm always so afraid of that kind of reaction, but one time I said to a coworker "I'm a very literal thinker and I do best if you tell me exactly what you mean." After a look of "hmmm I don't believe you," I said, "I'm the kind of person who in school loved rubrics because they exactly laid out expectations and how to do well (assuming the rubric was made well). It was a lightbulb moment for them saying "Ohhhhh!" I further elaborated with a concrete example, because they had asked me, hey can you do the dishes at XX time, I responded no because I had other things scheduled. They had been mad at me because I said no and they thought that meant I would never do the dishes, so I told them instead say, hey it's your turn to do the dishes, I would have been happy enough to do them! I just literally couldn't do them exactly at the time I was asked and didn't infer that I was required to do them at some point but it didn't need to be then. Our work relationship was a lot better after that!!

Do you think Dr.Doofenshmirtz is an affair baby, and that's why his parents treated him so bad? Or maybe their nephew that they had to adopt, because the parents not being at his birth thing and the dog named onlyson seems odd. He doesn't look much like his dad, if the mom had a sister that was too young or not financially stable enough to raise a baby gave him to them, it would make a bit of sense.

Very interesting to me that Abigail preferred Hannibal over Will, but Will had an emotional connection to her that Hannibal didn't - or at least not to the same extent.

I think maybe one day he could've found a stronger bond considering she had also killed and eaten people, but during the series she's really just a tool. Hannibal uses her to like... babytrap Will. And tbf it worked, Will didn't tell Jack what he knew when he discovered Abigail murdered that guy - if he was willing to cover for her, maybe eventually he'd cover for Hannibal too, the 3 of them too intrinsically tied for him to separate, I mean that's the trapping part. But she was just a means to an end, a relationship Hannibal nurtured for his own gain with Will....whereas Will really did view her as his daughter.

Very interesting to me...off-put by Will (especially towards the end of s1), but he had the most vested interest in her well-being out of the pair...

dude people who refuse to even look at something they disagree with is a red flag. and before this becomes a “piss on the poor” post, this isn’t about looking at things that are genuinely upsetting, or allowing yourself to fall into rabbit holes or accept into your belief system things that you are opposed to. it just means, if every opinion you have is so fragile you refuse to even glance at the opposite perspective…. like, that’s bad dude. thinking that it’s okay to insulate yourself from opposing opinions “because you’re the good guy and they’re the bad guy” or similar logic… this is assuming you already know and understand something you refuse to even engage with…. do you see the flaw in the logic?

this is gonna sound crazy but hear me out. go watch a trial. go watch a legal battle play out in court. play jury duty for a little while. actually hear both sides out. realize that it doesn’t shrink the truth to hear out both sides - it strengthens it!

Some Lando fans are now comparing Lando getting robbed with that penalty to LH getting robbed in AB 21 🤦🏻‍♀️

That’s so funny because were it not for precedent that they set in AD21 of doing everything for the show, they’d have investigated mclaren’s rubber wings and this “fight” that Lando is in might well never have existed.

It’s the same because if I had a nickel for every time some British guy with fresher tyres couldn’t get past Max Verstappen I’d only have two nickels but it’s fucking funny it’s happened twice.

The ask was really small both times and they fumbled it. Lando wasn’t ahead at the corner and hadn’t been for 8 laps so why are people so comfortable deciding he didn’t gain an advantage…he came back onto the track with a position he didn’t have when he left it and likely wasn’t going to get because he hadn’t got it in the 8 laps prior. They’re real loud considering Lando battled a fridge on wheels for 8 laps and was getting schooled. And as for Lewis…babe you had newer tyres and all you had to do was hold him off for 1 lap…Max just did it for 8 today.

reading interview with the vampire rn and it’s crazy because I feel like I’ve spent nearly the entirety of the novel thinking about wtf lestats problem is and now after meeting the vampires of France im like ohhh—wait. nothing was wrong with Lestat. as a matter of fact, I really wish Louis and Claudia could go back to their home in New Orleans along with Lestat, where their only real problem was the occasional existential crisis, because these vampires are trash.
