ok not gonna go too deep into it bc the next chapter is big alpine lore related so it would basically just be redundant but I can still just jot down some general hc stuff that I think will be explained in story but still just wanna have fun jotting down :3👍

-Ok so. Bc the twilight travels rift (that’s the name right??? The twigoat statue/bell one? That) has the three colored bells/statues (red blue and yellow) my thought was the bell might have been made by three people? Or goats in this case I suppose lol, haven’t thought much beyond just some kind of sorcerer/mage group of some kind, that’s basically it, not thought super hard on it beyond that but we’ll get there when we get there ig

-Accession/twilight spirits are essentially like the opposite of ghosts !! Even though they look similar I think they are actually more similar to mj, in that they still have their bodies. But for twi spirits it’s because they are basically frozen/immortal and NOT dead. As I said they are opposites, life and death and all that. The way they form is the same as corruption BUT the difference is they are calm/control their emotion/can accept the magic from their soul, where as corruption is rejecting it/being overwhelmed by it. I think a good example of this is in the prologue it was shown that snatcher makes flowers/plants wilt but twilight spirits have their whole flower thing going on yk? You get the idea

-the alps and subcon I think would be close/trade often!! (I think this got mentioned in the prologue Iirc?)

-Delilah’s mothers side of her family live in alpine while her fathers side of the family lives in subcon, hence she vaguely mentions it in fic a few times (but I also think she also clumped lotus in with her family too but more so to use as an excuse to not be super detailed abt her alp trips) (oh yeah uh if u don’t know Lotus is my TG follower twilight spirit goat oc who is dels guardian! :3)

-the bell isn’t supposed to ACTUALLY lead to the twilight realm, it’s more so meant to just a window/peek at what it’s like, …meant being the key word here (hence Hattie’s in game diary mentioning she thinks she wasn’t supposed to be there) probably gonna slip in some lore about it being under a spell/enchantment of some kind? Maybe only people tied to magic or the twilights specifically can enter, weither it be literal as in knowing TG/Lotus or following them, or more metaphorically like hat being from space counted her? Shrugs I’ll think on it a little more later ig all I know is if you got magic or ties to it you can go to the astral plane directly yayyyy :3👍 fun!!! I love going to the disorienting space afterlife for a visit it’s just an average Tuesday for me it’s fine dw about it

-twigoat religion/following is based more so on Buddhism/concepts of nirvana in my head, like there isn’t an underworld or hell or anything it’s all just one place, but TG isn’t actually a god or anything it’s like the game lore they were just a regular mortal goat who decided to protect the astral plane/watch over it after becoming a twilight spirit/traveling to the bell.

-Design detail is all twilight followers wear silver bells! :3 but NOT gold bc that’s basically saying they are doing it wrong/don’t care. (Examples of this: TG, Lotus, Dels, shady sunburnt, Rei (gold), shapes later/timeskip specifically for a different twilight character later that I’m not spoiling rn, and also party crasher has gold bells but not so much for twilight lore reasons but changeling council lore reasons which I’m not spoiling here sorry womp womp)

-I feel like believing in the twilight realm VS following the twilight goat are like separate things? Just bc the actual astral plane is a concept while TG is a person/religious figure so like most characters would know of or believe in the astral plane but not all of those characters actually follow TG youknow? Having proof of an afterlife basically means beleif in that plane isn’t part of the religion but following the religions morals/teachings IS if that makes sense???? hopefully u get the idea.. lol

-Lotus is TGs follower > dels was Lotus’s Follower > so I think @twipsai s oc zebu would be dels follower :3 (like I think they’d just be a reference and not an actual character in aau but idc I’d still kill for a!zebu <3 love that thing)

Ok so like Im not a REAL dc blogger so I don’t really have my own reading list; I basically focus heavily on black characters across the board and then dive into wherever they’re from but I usually use other reading lists to do it and go at my own (slow ass) pace. For DC i started fandom only and then moved on to actually reading comics which is why my opinions are so strong there bc I KNOW WHAT YALL ARE LIKE!

Sorry but now for Duke specifically I KNOW there’s a specifc blogger who’s list I followed down to the T but I cannot remember their url rn so here’s a list/chart that has like. Listings for him specifically

That’s mostly to follow timeline but for me I think to get his character down u could do all star Batman, Batman and the signal, the outsiders, WAR and then branch out from there (but also saying this as someone who’s read most of it so like maybe I’m biased and missing or forgetting smth). I’m sorry if this isn’t helpful but as SOON as I find that reading list I’m posting it bc I swear I literally went down that list one by one.

-but also despite me obviously shitting on certain characters runs or interpretations I think the best thing you could do is give everyone a fair chance. Blank slate in ur mind if ur JUST starting and see where u go from there but also remember to check ur biases and think about WHY certain things get included or retconned or explained away bc that’s where a lot of ppl falter in thinking their fave is just misunderstood or smth.

(and he also leaves a handsome tip in your jar even when he doesn’t buy anything!!)

hoseok has a great instinct for color theory!!! he just knows what works and what doesn’t and you need an extra mind to help conceptualize arrangements in the blink of an eye

namjoon is a master of small talk and an all-rounder!! you have a loT of customers who have no gist whatsoever on what they want, and you don’t want to risk giving them an arrangement they loathe!! he knows how to hit it

he was actually so excited when jungkook pitched him a job offer

he could literally go “y/n, the lady in yellow has a dalmatian. i could tell she would tulips in her arrangement along with hydrangeas.”

so that’s that, basically

you and jungkook have been hectic and apart for a whole week because you practically sleep in the shop trying to keep up with everything

he’s actually keeping the website and sneaky hires from you as secrets in the meantime because he wants to surprise you!!! like literally right now

he enters from the staffroom and make sure none of the people waiting by the entrance see him because that would be utter chaos

the shutters are all closed so no one from outside can see what’s inside, but you actually fAIL to realize that your shop would still be closed for another ten minutes

the moment you hear a voice, your mind automatically goes to “hi! welcome to spring day. what blooms would you like?” mode :|

jungkook frowns because you look so haggard under his trained eye even if you still look well-kempt!! you can’t have your shops and yourself appear ratty in the eager instagram stories that taehyung’s fans take

but that’s okay!!! he’ll coax you to come home with him tonight because he’s gonna tell you about his hires this morning

you briefly look up to send a smile, already fetching your paper on your left hand and twine and scissors on the other

“i-i haven’t slept, dummy!! and i figured that you hate me because we haven’t seen each other for a week and-“

you say in between sobs and chuckles, giggling when your cheeks are smushed and jungkook keeps peppering you with wet kisses

“ten minutes before opening,” kook sweetly reminds you, kissing you on the lips after an entire week that the sheer euphoria he’s getting now is enough to last another

“mhmmm,” you hum when he presses his warm hand on the small of your back, “tell me about your week in ten minutes.”

“sounds good,” he affirms, scratching your scalp that makes you relax even more until he stops red-faced —

“but like, while multitasking, y’know? kiss me while i tell you about my week.”

But no, here you were staring down at Tsukishima who was now in the pool completely soaked. You laughed as you watched him glare up at you, “Don’t look at me like that, you were going to fall in at some point.” You say before extending your hand out to him, he huffed. “No, I wasn’t you’re childish.” He said, making you snicker.

You felt a soft tug on your wrist, jerking you forward. Your shriek was cut off by a loud splash and cool water stealing your heat, you quickly emerge from under the water, gasping. Face soaked you rubbed at it with your now wet hands, which wasn’t much help. You looked at Tsukishima who was smirking at you, “Respectfully, I hope you get lost in the deep end.” You laughed as you move your hair away from your face, “You literally pushed me in, you deserve – “You cut him off splashing water in his face and swimming away laughing. Cold water hits your back making you shiver and laugh; you turn over to smiling. “Wait, wait look, I can hold my breath for five minutes.” You declared and Tsukishima chuckled. “Y/N seriously? Five minutes... you’re crazy.”

You roll your eyes, “No watch.” You closed your eyes, covering your nose with your thumb and index finger before dunking down into the water. Water filled your ears, Tsukishima watched as you tried to show him that you could hold your breath for five minutes, which wasn’t true as you quickly resurfaced, gasping, spluttering out water that got in your mouth. “I can tell you for a fact that wasn’t five minutes.”

“What?! That was like five minutes.” You swam over to him, who rolled his eyes. “Y/N, you can’t hold your breath for five minutes.” He stared confused at you, “I know I can.”

Tsukishima chuckled a little, “You vastly overestimate your abilities.” You rolled your eyes, “I think I perfectly estimate my abilities, Kei.” He shook his head, “Yeah, okay.”

You wipe your eyes, “Can I ask you something?” water only seemingly to pile up as you stared at him. Moonlight gazing down at the both of you, water overlapping each other, and crickets seemed to be the only thing happening in the background. “It better not be you asking me If we can get matching tattoos.”

“What? No – that’s tomorrow's question.” You joke, “But no, seriously do you believe in fate?” You asked, Tsukishima chuckled, wiping his face. “No, but I’m guessing you do?”

You nodded, “I do – I do believe in fate.” You sighed as you felt warm in the cold water, “Why?” Tsukishima asked and you hummed, “Well, to a certain degree of course. For me I think everything you do, go through, and endure it happens for a reason. Fate seems like it's designed to make a human grow; there aren't any so called “mistakes,” and they’re only hidden meanings.

Sure, most of the things in the world can be proven to be scientific and not of fate. However, everything happens for a reason, everything you do and say has a purpose and it matters. Yet, in little things where something can’t be proven scientifically like; meeting someone, or getting into the college you wanted, or even landing your dream job. You can say that is fate, there is a reason for these things. “Fate helps people get something that they don’t think they can or should get, it brings you closer to so many new things and it also intertwines in what happens in your life.”, “Then what about a leap of faith?”

“I think it's an expression often misused. It isn’t saying to like go blindly into something, but rather unsure of what will happen, but making the decision on going through with it.” Tsukishima nodded, “What does that have to do with people meeting?” He asked, and you perked up slightly swimming next to him. “Easy, I think It was fate that we both got to meet again.”

“I’m sure we both thought we’d only be high school friends from memories that you can only recall in a small moment. But that didn’t happen, here we are, I'm your plus one and wondering what’s next.”

Tsukishima hummed, “So, basically you can say something good or bad that had happened cause of fate? But as long as you have learned something from it, it matters and as long as you have grown from it?”

“Yes!” You shout, but then laugh. “Sorry, but yeah. It’s like a learning experience.” You say, “And fate also comes in with weddings, I mean I don’t think soulmates are just made. They’re found, found when you meet that person because you just decided to go walking that day.” You sigh slightly, “Fate has so many connections, it’s just amazing.” Tsukishima watches as you laugh lightly at your small rant.

And he’s never felt luckier. You shivered as you swam to the edge of the pool, pushing yourself up and sitting on the side. You looked up at the sky, stars littered the sky and the moon peeked out just behind the hotel building, you hummed the air making goosebumps kiss your skin. You then look back at Tsukishima who was now crawling out the pool himself.

“The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?”

As for the Kokomi tips, sure!! I'd love to give you a couple <3 This is a little long, and I'm doing these off the top of my head so it might be a bit disorganized, but I hope it helps! (this is long I’m sO sorry)

Okok, so there are mainly 2 ways to play Kokomi: Either you play her supportively for her skill, which is her jellyfish, or you play her as a DPS. Personally, I go DPS Kokomi, but that's because mine is high invested and crowned atp ajksdnsa

Building her is, like, super easy lmao. an hp/hp/healing bonus set is one of the basic and most universal Kokomi sets, no matter what playstyle you're going for, and you don't need to worry about substats much at all. Going for ER or flat hp in the subs is pretty good, but you don't need to stress over it too much.

Viable Kokomi sets are maiden beloved, ocean hued clam, tenacity of the millelith, (and for DPS purposes) heart of depth.

Since it’s not uncommon to have Kokomi as the lone hydro character, she needs a lot of ER, depending on your weapon + how often she stays on the field. A good baseline would be 180 ER to get your burst on cooldown, and just adjust n test to see what suits you. 

If you play her fully as a support, you're either going to be using her jellyfish as a hydro applicator in freeze/electrocharge teams, and you'll be using her burst only to refresh the duration of her jellyfish. She isn't as useful in vaporize teams though, since her hydro application can't keep up with characters like Xiangling and Hu Tao, so she's not as popular in those.This is the one where you build her hp/hp/healing bonus. As a support, tenacity is one of her really good sets, since she can use both the additional hp, and her jellyfish is able to proc the 4pcs effect, which adds to the team's overall damage. maiden and clam are also good options, though and feel free to mix and match 2pc sets across the three sets if you need. Viable weapons for support Kokomi are Thrilling Tales (good for buffing the entire team's DPS) prototype amber for the heals, or even sacrificial fragments, if you're not used to popping her burst to refresh her jellyfish duration, and you need a cooldown to ensure full uptime on her hydro application.

Playing support Kokomi is super easy lmao–– basically just pop into the field, cast your skill, then before its 12 second duration is up, you switch to her, cast her burst to refresh the duration of the jellyfish, then swap back out. This ensures that your skill will be off cooldown by the time the refreshed jellyfish expires for good, and you'll be able to keep 100% uptime on your heals and hydro application!

Another way to use Kokomi’s skill is in the sukokomon team. It’s a bit complex, but it does surprisingly high damage and even with low investment, so it’s worth checking out. 

Now, DPS Kokomi is my personal favorite and what i currently have (sort of.) This is the one where you obvi deal damage with her in her burst, often using Kokomi's normal attacks to proc reactions. One of her best (and honestly most fun and satisfying) team comps is a taser comp, (I fondly call my taser team Electrofish) It’s basically Kokomi with Raiden/Beidou/Fischl/Kazuha/Sucrose to make the most of rapid fire electrocharged reactions, with viridescent shreds from the anemo characters. Here, the viable sets are 4pcs clam (for that spicy phys dmg every few seconds) or 4pcs HoD. Mainstats you want are hp/hydro/ healing bonus, with ER and flat hp/hp% and some attack%. As for weapons, moonglow is definitely her best, though prototype amber and even the hakushin ring are viable. 

In an electrocharge team, the rotations might vary depending on who you use, but the general pattern is kokomi E – Electro offield supports (raiden E, fischl E, beidou Q) – anemo chara’s skills/burst for the vv shred – Kokomi’s Q. Now, when you normal attack with Kokomi, it’s not very recommended to use her charged attack, since it takes up time and stamina. It’s generally best to normal attack twice, then dash cancel her animation, then rinse and repeat. 

Personally, I run a dps/hybrid Kokomi, since I mainly use her in co-op (and because the clam domain hates me and hasn’t given me a decent hydro dmg artifact smh) and I’ve built her on hp/hp/healing, with Everlasting Moonglow so she heals a really good amount while also doing damage while in her burst + capitalizing on the damage from the clam’s bubble.

JDFKDKV me and 'beer' got close during my sister's bday party. it was just a small n intimate gathering (only like 5 ppl,, including me n my sis) nd he was invited. my sis was so drunk, we had to bring her up to her room and tuck her into bed,,, my sis friend was in the bathroom puking the night away JDFKSSJNK and the others were just either passed out drunk or just didnt wanna drink anymore. but there was so much drinks left and we didnt want to waste it, so me and 'beer' ended up tryna finish the cocktails that was made since it was such a waste to throw them out and since i was under the consumption of alcohol i became more outspoken and confident than i usually am JFVDSJKVDJK we had a couple drinks earlier so while we were abit tipsy and we looked like crazed people talking and giggling n shit,, we became close after that night. and from there, we became each other's designated "drinking buddies". Herodotus: Literally nothing. There isn’t a professional setting where I have studied any one thing in particular, and I’m not the kind of person who purposefully studies anything in my free time. I enjoy learning things by just,, existing and collecting knowledge. I'd like to study art, but the opportunity has yet to arise.

Kronos: It’s in about a month ;)

Athena: As much as I love to read, I’ve never really thought about this? I don’t really have a set list- ummm… Raybearer is really good and I highly suggest it, Tuck Everlasting, I remember I always loved the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus series, and Fever King is great, and finally The Bed Was On Fire When I Laid Down On It is really good. That isn’t in any particular order and is more of just books I can remember reading and enjoying atm XD

Aphaia: A bit less stressed, a few less mental health issues. I remember being incredibly repressed, for a bunch of reasons. I don’t like who I was as a child, I had views I now disagree with and did things I now disagree with, but I can understand it was those mistakes that led me to be who I am now. I have a complicated relationship with who I was when I was younger.

Atlas: I genuinely don’t know. Sorry XD

Atlantis: Over the course of my, admittedly short life, I have taken violin lessons, piano lessons, voice lessons, cello lessons, mandolin lessons and just general music lessons. (I’m not taking any right now, and I'm not particularly good at any of these)

A chance to talk about my Oc’s??~ don’t mind if I do XD

Octavious originally lived in a very hot climate and hates the cold with every fibre of her being. Since moving to the capital (where this story at the very least starts) he has lived in a colder climate. Not cold, it still gets too mind-numbingly hot in the summer, but it’s the kind of place you need a heavy jacket in the winter.

The culture in this world is something I both have and have not thought about. I probably have the culture of Octavious’s hometown and the general culture of the Hydro elves figured out but everything else is really iffy, so I guess I’ll just talk briefly about both of those.

Hydro elves in this world a fairly nomadic, and you can find them nearly anywhere in the world, but if you do it will just be families of 6-ish or less. Larger communities are formed on the shore near places where they can grow large amounts of fibre. Octavious comes from a community close to a field of Linen or a linen adjacent fibre that I’ll come up with at some point. This is because linen is really good for weaving, and for making fishing nets. Nets are a very large part of Hydro elf culture. In these communities, it will generally have up to 50 people, and they will all treat each other like family. It takes a village to raise a child you know? Adults that aren’t your parents are referred to as aunt and uncle, and other people your general age that aren’t your siblings are your cousins. Blood relations aren’t very important, everyone is family. The people with the most respect are the oldest members. This is because they know the most about weaving and net making, which are both very culturally significant.

I actually have made a map!! It’s really rough and is 100% just for me to get a general idea of where I want things to be, but it exists, and I want to make a better version of it to post and to show you where everything is.

Octavious’s necklace, as previously stated, is a bunch of waived together strings, each string corresponds to someone especially important in his life. She likes weaving little bracelets and things of the like, which is why he has given his friends friendship bracelets. Only Auster wears theirs normally, but the other two did keep theirs.

Octavious’s love language is gift-giving, Auster’s is words of quality time, Oak’s is acts of service, and Luka’s is physical touch.

Luka loves dad jokes. Octavious hATES them.

Auster’s design for what he turns into is my favourite thing rn, so I’m very excited to show you.

Oak hits out of love, and hate, and pretty much every other feeling because Oak likes hitting things.

Octavious has the most academic knowledge, but they are also the dumbest person ever and I kinda love that duality. It’s like, high intelligence, low wisdom.

Oak and Octavious bond over causing havoc, and generally being nuisances (affectionate)

I’d say Auster is the most traditionally nice out of any of them, but that’s because Oak is aggressive, Octavious is bad at being genuine, and Luka is bad at expressing himself.

Octavious’s hair is designed to look a little like storm clouds and lightning.

Auster is the hardest to draw. I don’t even know why, they just are.

Oak and ember elves can’t control fire, they control heat. This means that they can start a flame in their hand (or anywhere else) if they have fuel and oxygen, but they can’t really move flames created by them or otherwise. They can also snuff out fire really quickly because they can just take away the heat.

Auster doesn’t have a last name. Not just I haven’t found one yet, they just don’t have one. I think that there are so few Avian elves that the people didn’t see a need for last names, they just never recycled any first names.

I’m trying to incorporate as many Oc’s I made for other stories that I have since abandoned into this one. So far I have reused Oc’s for one of Auster’s siblings, another hydro elf, and possibly a deity.

Originally I was going to just have basic elemental powers for the different elves, but I’ve since changed my mind and I’m trying to come up with something a bit more interesting ;)

FRUITS BASKET S2 EPISODE 7 RECAP AKA ‘TOP TIER FURUBA SHIT’

My guys... this episode pretty much hit all the points for me in what I expect of a Fruits Basket episode... and more! I loveeee this episode. I gotta admit last week’s episode was a bit of a shoulder shrug for me cos it was mostly a set up for the beach ‘arc’ but this. episode. I have way too many screen caps, I don’t know how I’ll do this. 

And we open up with a big ‘fuck no’. I love the flash forward just to prepare the audience for a whole lot of hurt. Excellent. *pours myself a glass of wine*

Ohhhh... Tohru’s one of those people who like to push aside their own problems and focus on other people’s instead... Except, it’s not in an annoying and judge-y way at all. However, I am beginning to question whether she is actually that selfless and the real root of it is that Tohru needs a distraction from her own pain. Either way, it’s sad and I don’t think she’s doing it consciously at all which makes it even sadder.

Also, appreciation for Momiji being a human backpack at all times. And I love his cat eared hat! I want one! Our Outfit Appreciation Winner this week. 4 stars.

- Kisa/Hiro being a mini version of Kyoru was basically confirmed this episode and I am happy.

This go around of Fruits Basket has made me realise how much I relate to him and his position in the family. Every anime has a character that’s in their twenties and just... tired and I always relate best to them, shoutout to Keishin Ukai from Haikyuu.

Even though I hate Akito, I have an appreciation for the subtle shit the animators/designers do whenever they come onto screen. All of Akito’s actions have a kinda feather-lightness/almost ethereal feel to them and the way Akito is contrasted against not only the scenery but the other characters around them is... so gooood. I’ve already talked about how I love the emphasis on the presence of Akito in their first appearance in the anime but... I’ll still be talking about it cos it’s great. And I can’t wait to hear Colleen Clinkenbeard in this ep, but Maaya Sakamoto was stellar in this episode (fun fact: did you know she also played Haruhi in OHSHC?!?).

But yeah, I still hate Akito. Sorry.

- That Akito and Shigure and Hatori (and partially Kureno) scene just really... disgusted me. To see someone have that much power in their touch and their words is... freaky and unsettling. And I love it cos it’s interesting but I also hate it soooo much. I have nothing more to say about it besides that really. I was more interested in the Shigure and Hatori moment afterwards...

That’s a nice way of putting it...

Maybe this was to be taken mostly as a joke, but do you think that Shigure actually wants Hatori to remind him how much of a shitbag he’s being? Most of my problem with Shigure (and why I actually liked 2001!Shigure but let’s not go there again) is that out of everyone in this series, he’s the most untouched. And yet he schemes and manipulates and seems to get everything he wants. AND what makes it even worse and annoying and spectacular, is that Shigure’s little nudges and pushes of the chess pieces which are the zodiac members aren’t so obvious to the extent that you could only blame him for it. It’s almost genius, if it weren’t so repulsive.

I love love love love love this moment between Yuki and Tohru. It was gorgeous!

4. Izaya Orihara from Durarara

Ah yes, the og queen bitch. Has my taste for villains ever recovered from Izaya? No. If your villain isn’t at least a bit like Izaya I’m not interested. Durarara was one of my first serious fandoms and Izaya was the first character I ever wrote for and I think you can explain me as a person if you consider Izaya was my all time fav at 13. I can’t really say anything about Izaya that hasn’t been said thousands of times before, I love how goofy and overperformative he can be, I love how there’s so much in him once you crack him open, I love how good of a villain he is for a messy story such as DRRR, puppeteer villains are really a league of their own. We need more puppeteering twinks, maybe then I’d be more into villains yaknow.

3. Hawks from Boku no Hero Academia 

To no ones surprise!Him! I’ve been drifting off from BNHA recently what from catching bad case of JJK what from just reading n watching more other stuff and honestly that’s probably good because I’ve been into BNHA for a couple of years now as my main fandom and I really could have used a break. Not to say I don’t like BNHA anymore tbh I think right now BNHA is the best it’s ever been just ya know, drifting. That being said my love for Hawks will never die, god what a good boy and we got his backstory too aaa ;-;. BNHA was just like Servamp, something I liked but didn’t really have a fav character in until this random support character strolled in and won my heart. God I love how much we got on Hawks. He’s completely different from his initial impression and his unrelenting strive to do good despite being thrown from one horrible situation to the next is just ;-; HES SUCH A GOOD BOY. He’s selfless to a fault, literally putting everyone before himself and putting himself down for not being able to achieve more than is humanly possible I’m just ;-; I WANT HIM TO BE HAPPY. He just makes my heart happy, he’s good and warm and hardworking and in a manga where trauma plays such a major role in so many characters it’s so good to see Hawks there, having been through three different types of hell and still coming out unnerving in his goodness. All I want for him is to have a good life and to one day be able to smile for real.

2. Gojo Satoru from Jujutsu Kaisen

Again no surprise since I’ve been so into jjk lately. Satoru is p high up rn cuz I’m mainly into JJK now but god knows where he will actually settle. He’s not even really my favorite character in the show, that goes to Inumaki, but this is a list of who I think about the most (tho all of these characters are either no 1 or no 2 for their shows) and boy my brother and foxy can tell you I’m constantly thinking about this bitch. I didn’t really care about him that much at the start but then I got to Hidden Inventory and OH BOY MUCH TO THINK ABOUT. Satoru is such a wonderfully complex character whos evolution you can clearly follow through the years. He’s under so much pressure as the strongest sorcerer to deal with everything and he has to operate in that system trying to change it for the better while at the same time trying to make sure his students arent sacrificed in the name of that change. He has a very goofy disposition but along side with Nanamin who’s a lot more explicit about it, it’s clear he cares about mental state of his students a whole lot. He knows this world is terrible and that the will come out of it with scars and that he can’t protect them from all of it, but he balances protecting and letting them grow as much as he can. They need to grow so jujutsu society can change after all, but they also need to be protected so they don’t fuckin die before that can happen. This is without all the many many opinions I have on Hidden Inventory and SatoSugu as a whole, how they influenced each other, how differently they reacted to their shared trauma (Funny how everyone on this list is fuckin traumatized) and what resulted from it. How their fucking love story is dramatic enough to be a Shakespeare play. Also I like it when he’s long and goofy ahahah

1. Chuuya Nakahara from Bungou Stray Dogs

If there is ever a day when I don’t go feral over Chuuya I’ll probably be dead. He not only lives in my head rent free he owns the place.

HES SO UNDERUSED.

BSD has such a great setup with Chuuya, like he’s ex partners with the mentor of the main character who got betrayed and abandoned when the mentor left shared evil organization. Sounds like grounds for drama right? YOUD THINK SO. Like Chuuya and Dazai have such a great and interesting dynamic and you can feel how strained it is from the distance and betrayal and they bicker and fight as their defining relationship trait BUT there is such a strong underlying trust to all the fighting. These two trust each other with their whole lives and that hasn’t changed despite everything, despite how much time has passed and how much that trust had been tested. So you’d think he’d be an important character :) HES STUCK IN SUPPORT HONESTLY HES STUCK IN BACKGROUND UNLESS HES NEEDED TO DO SOMETHING COOL AAAAAA. Chuuya is literally one of a kind, I’ve never seen a character with such a good design and such an cool power and such an interesting relationship to one of the main characters and such a love and support from the fandom BE SO UTERLLY AND COMPLETLY WASTED. Even when we get Chuuya scraps they rarely build on relationship he has in canon but just throw in new random ones at him (tho that’s a broader problem of Kafka throwing new characters at the plot instead of developing the one he already has really). We get a hint of a cool fight with him? Completely cut out, More often then not it just feels like he is benched because he’s so damn strong there would just be no plot tension if he went in and broke some heads (which is also a problem with Satoru, guys stop writing op characters if you’ll just put em on the bus aaa). Anyway he’s completly and utterly wasted by the plot.

And it’s such a waste because he’s such a good character. Like he’s a member if the villain organization and is obviously by that very vicious and violent but also so empathetic and kind to people he considers his friends. He and Dazai have the brawn and brain thing going on and stg Chuuya is like the only brawn I can think of that is classier then their brain. Look at how this guy dressed, he’s high class gay, hat, choker, coat, gloves, he is bringing in the looks. I love how he can actually be completely calm and rational and put together but then put him with Dazai and it’s back to ‘we are 15 and we will scream out heads off at each other’, they are so childish. 

Anyway I love Chuuya he deserves to be treated better and I will never stop screaming about Chuuya ever

Haha, I don’t know how hot they are, but I can give you a speed run! (Also I am very excited to get this. FO4 was the first open world game I ever played and just the concept of that and the hugeness of the world and branching story & sudden feeling changes towards me in companion characters totally blew my mind, & it still lives rent free in my heart).

Ada, Old Longfellow, and Strong I /still/ haven’t maxed despite having too many hundred hours to want to list on this game—the former bc they were DLC, Strong because honest to god I left him at a nice settlement and then completely forgot about him and remembering that I am the energy in this Ryan O’Flanagan video but abt leaving my super mutant in a tiny settlement alone. I will get there! To max affinity I mean. But anyway, I don’t truly know those three, so my takes are incomplete. So far though, I really like Ada. She is a good girl just trying her best. Fucks me up I can tell her to self destruct. Even though I feel sure she would ignore me, I cannot imagine ever saying that to her. It was really sweet she was willing to forgive the Mechanist and move on with her life. A good girl. Longfellow I am maxing rn (was last time I played anyhow). I enjoy him. Gruff grumpy old man but he seems quite decent and I like his idle banter and when he sings to himself a lot. Seems like he’s had it rough. Strong I liked. He’s wild, and I loved how insane meeting him was, and am worried about him eventually understanding poetry and how that might mess up his sense of world understanding. But he’s a chill dude in his own way and I am glad they gave us at least one nice super mutant.

For the companions I actually do know like the back of my hand, the speedrun:

Nick Valentine: Best man on earth. One of two fictional characters I ever called husband. I would die kill or live for him. I want to be 1/4th the man Nick Valentine is. One of the best characters ever period and I adore literally everything about him. It fucked me up early in game where right after he offered to basically risk destroying his mind to help a stranger look for her son, he asked me how I was doing. First character in the entire game to do that. His first companion dialogue is abt how you’re doing TuT. The man is very kind and forgiving and fair, but knows when the draw the line and take no shit. Emotionally mature, kind, caring, longsuffering. Incredibly damaged and broken by life, but holding on and living kindly and to help others anyway. One of the four most marryablen fictional men I’ve ever seen.

Preston Garvey: Brave, kind, sweet man. I would defend him with my life. He really just wants so bad to make the world better and life has been so hard, but he’s still trying. A beautiful and underrated companion and I would throw hands for him on sight. I adore how he whistles. A true and gentle and loyal friend. Take him to Quincy and let him get his justice it’s what he deserves. People who hate him because he tries to get help helping civilians in that game are weak. I love him so much... please give him enough time to reach max affinity he’s so worth it.

Deacon: *To the tune of You Are My Dad* You are my friiiiend! You’re my friend! (Boogie woogie woogie). Initially, he pissed me off bc he lies all the god damn time, but after we got close enough he actually trusted me, he stole my heart and I would also die for Deacon. He’s a really good person who thinks he’s shit because of who he was on his past. Also him 🤝 Preston: massive survivor’s guilt. They should be friends. Poor Deacon has been the last member of the Railroad like four times, and it’s awful. Help him. Give him love and support. He’s one of my all time faves. Also, Railroad hands down best faction and if you kill them for any reason other than like a walkthrough route video and I ever get the chance I would 100% clock you in the face as hard as I can, like going for losing teeth, and feel no guilt. I know it’s a game and that’s wrong, and I’d be wrong, but I’d still do it. Also, Ryan Alosio (his VA) saw me do cosplay for Deacon once and told me it was great and it filled me with even more love. Anyway Deacon is great. Also, his whole “There are other organisations out there. And, in time, I'm sure they're going to spoon-feed you their own patented form of bullshit. Ignore the verbage and look at what they're doing. What they're asking you to do. What sort of world they'd have you build and how they're going to pay for it.” Is one of the like, two most iconic quotes in all of FO4 & just super good in general.

Hancock: Hardcore badass man but also a good dude and a champion for the people. Man really puts his money where his mouth is and you gotta respect that; another favorite companion for sure. Big fan of the way he stabs a guy for you upon meeting, and is a cool leader who organized his crime and does a decent job actually leading. He works hard to help people and bites back hard. Social justice advocate, dangerous man about town, not afraid to cosplay a revolutionary war hero 24/7 & u gotta respect the no fucks given attitude. A chill dude. Like that he fights the institute, hates the Brotherhood, helps the Railroad, and is friends with Nick. He’s legit af. Also, his VA gives a different answer every time someone asks him about the voice he did for hancock and they’re funny af.

Piper Wright: A cool spunky lady. Lois Lane on the case, kicking butt, and taking name. She’s nice but also hardcore and smart, supportive, fun. A good person. You always get points if you like Nick (which most companions do), and they’re good friends. She’s funny and I love her. A good heart.

Codsworth: He’s great. He’s family. He’s like my...weird brother. Getting to max affinity is heartwarming and also makes my heart go :’-] . Great early-game companion bc he kicks ass and doesn’t need stims to heal. I love getting called by my name and think that was a great feature (well, my PC’s name). He’s a wonderful funky little robot dude and I am so glad he likes me.

Dogmeat: Amazing. A good boy. Doggo of the year. His actor deserved the game award she won. Cute, full of love, and plays with a teddy bear if you give him one. 100/10z

Cait: I like her a lot. She’s been through so much shit, and it makes sense she is how she is. I like they actually gave her an emaciated and messy (though still pretty) design, since she is a drug addict. And that they make her main quest about taking that seriously and wanting to get help, and that she’ll call out the player if they fuck around and do drugs in front of her after she gets rehabilitated. Her relationship to the PC if good is really sweet, and I am a fan. I like that while she’s not sympathetic to synths and thinks they aren’t people, she forgets that every time Nick walks into a room and is like “Oh hey Nicky : )”. She’s a good girl who has been through a lot and still needs time to heal and find herself, but she’s making great strides.

Robert Joseph MacCready: Human disaster (loving). Homeboy a goddamn /mess/ but I love him. He tries so hard to be cool. I love he makes you pay him to come with, then chickens out and gives it back lol. A fool ball of anxiety and bad decisions and what he thinks brovado is. I wish he, Preston, and Deacon would quit fighting, bc I am always like “ :’-] </3 Boys Please” when they swap out, but I love them just the same. He’s doing his best, he’s just stupid and a fool. Like Philip J Fry. Keeping his goddamn soldier toy, which somehow is listed as junk instead of sent to Misc with quest items where it would be fine, safe?parylizes me with fear. I’ve lost 2 hours of gameplay reloading an old save bc I accidentally lost it.

X6-88: A more complex one to answer about. He’s bad, but like, I’m pretty sympathetic to how he got that way. He was created in a lab and had his emotions mostly dragged out of him in intense psychologically damaging training so he would be a weapon and view himself as an object. I was relieved he chose me over the institute even if he wasn’t a fan of the chocie, and think that means there’s a lot of hope for him. Wish he’d chill the fuck out and quit intimidating civilians for 6 god damn seconds, but I like him. I bring him fancy lad snack cakes home from travels all the time, bc Synths are supposed to like them. Really like that he’s the /most/ sympathetic companion towards Danse in Blind Betrayal, even though he should not be programmed for that, and Danse hated him and made it clear any time they interacted.

(EDIT) Curie: I FORGOT HER BABY IM SO SORRY. I like Curie a lot, despite the fact I temporarily forgot she existed. I stg I thought she was in here. Uhhh, okay. Curie: like her character and personality, HUGE un-fan of both the way her desire to get a synth body is to be ‘more real,’ as if Codsworth isn’t a fully realized person while the same robot type she is, instead of just like. Because it would make her happy. ALSO hate how much of a Born Sexy Yesterday she is, even intentionally in not-determinate affinity talks. It’s gross. But her herself, I like a lot. She’s my daughter and I will protect her. She works at The Castle right now as their on-site medic.

Paladin Danse: I know I’m gonna take heat for this but honestly? He didn’t do much for me. I like that he looks and sounds kinda like Buzz Lightyear, and that’s fun, but idk at all why people think he’s so hot. He’s very boring & generic looking to me. Like you’re valid! Taste all be different. But he doesn’t do it for me personally in looks or personality. I don’t at all like, hate him. Or even dislike. Tbh I am fairly neutral on him. It was funny making affinity with him though. Every other companion I had maxed, I liked more and more with each affinity talk. They’d be like “So my dad was a minuteman and died and I want to honor him” or “I just want to really feel like I’m a person, for real, myself, and I am glad I met you, because the good we have achieved together is ours, even if I can’t be sure of anything else,” or “My brother threw the cultural minorities out of our city for clout bc the rich citizens were all racist, and I tried to help—I snuck them food to the unsafe ruins they set up in for weeks, but eventually, they just vanished, and I still bear immense guilt and self-hatred over not having stopped that.” And Danae’s would be like “One time a buddy of mine got kidnapped by super mutants. They turned him into one of them, and they’re all abominations, so I killed him and it made me really sad.” And I was just like “...Oh danse. I really wanted to like you more. But what the fuck.” His relationship to Haylen is sweet though. And ofc I saved him in Blind Betrayal. I blew up the Prydwin so he’s safe now too, and he lives in the garden by my house and tells me how glad he is we’re friends, and I’m p into that. Overall, my feelings on him are not strong at all though.

Porter Gage: Not a fan. Like, I appreciated he helped me kill the old boss, sure. And bc I owed him for that, I went to max affinity to see what there was to him as a person. And like, as far as raiders go, he was okay. But he wasn’t deeply sympathetic, and he’s a slaver, and if you try to liberate the slaves he and the others own, he /will/ turn on and attempt to murder you immediately, no matter how close you were, so he made his choice, and it was to be a bad person and an asshole to the last. Really enjoyed the VA’s work a lot on him tho.

hey, dude. i’m guessing by “supporting creators” you mean reblogging gif makers and not like, cheering on fic writers, so i’ll focus on that. (i think i cheer on many fic writers, go read @victorianoir and @davidcarner‘s stuff especially) in trying to figure out why you sent this ask, i’m guessing it’s because i don’t appear to reblog much chuck content from other blogs?

but, i do! i run (co-run, but there’s just me there) @chuckvsthegifs where i reblog chuck posts from many creators. every time i see a gifset, i reblog it there. i rely on the chuckedit tag which i’m sure means i miss some (lord knows my own stuff doesn’t always show up there), as well as my dashboard, but unless I’m somehow missing a ton of posts I definitely find new content to reblog and thus support there. i try and space it out to one post a day there because I don’t wanna run out of stuff!! but that’s more a remnant of when nobody posted chuck gifs and the tag was all but empty, i was scrounging old blogs for something we hadn’t reblogged yet.

in terms of this blog, i do reblog and support things made by others here too! but not as much, i suppose, which is what i’m guessing you’re critiquing, but i do have reasons for that.

i don’t consider this blog A Chuck Blog. it’s never been an archive for every single chuck post, it’s literally just my blog, for the shows and things and moments from them that i like, I just... like chuck the most and that’s why it’s the thing i gif. i made this blog after having another for two and a half years that was a completely hectic mishmash of anything i saw, yet simultaneously so dedicated to one fandom i felt guilty posting anything else, and it totally stressed me out. i swore my new blog (lol new, six years old) would be my jam. that’s why rn i’m posting a lot of star trek, that’s why this blog began with 90% Office content and then changed. vsthegifs is an archive and fandom dedicated, it’s designed to have everything chuck, that’s why i post everything over there and have done since I joined the blog a few years back. this space is my own jam. sometimes that means a lot of chuck posts from everyone, with me rambling in the tags about chuck and sarah again, sometimes that means just a few a week that are from my own brain. i go with however i’m feeling, without obligation. the other reason is that i am literally always paranoid about posting too much and pissing people off. idk why, i don’t mind when people i follow post a lot of stuff all in a row, but i still feel it. that’s why i only post four or five things a day, only one from each fandom, spaced out, etc, it’s why i don’t reblog text posts and stick to gifs. i basically set up a queue at the start of every day so i reblog stuff evenly. it’s dumb but i can’t seem to undo it for my own peace of mind. i run three blogs in total (this, vsthegifs, and nocontextchuck) and i cannot un-think the idea that if i reblog something to two blogs in a row or in quick succession, i’m pissing people off by the cross-posting 🙃 posting a lot of chuck in a day is something i rarely if ever do, whether it’s my own stuff or anyone else’s.

i’m sorry if you see not reblogging everything to this blog as well as another as not “supporting”; imo everyone who makes chuck gifs is a fucking rockstar. this show ended almost 9 years ago and began when I was ten years old, so trust me, i’m supporting and cheering on everyone.

truly incoherent late-night ramblings about the mighty nein and pride under the cut. an unorganized stream of consciousness basically. i’m so tired i have so many Thoughts

cad saying tonight that nobody in the m9 is vain (can’t remember if he said “none of us are vain” or “none of you are vain” but i’m going with the first one bc i can’t watch it again till it goes up on yt) really got me thinking because my immediate reaction was “no? that’s not true?” but i couldn’t figure out why exactly i thought that - so naturally i spent the rest of the episode pondering it.

like... the members of the mighty nein are each in their own way juggling a massive load of insecurity and in some cases just pure self-loathing but they’re still very... they’re not vain, but they are proud to the point of arrogance which is just super interesting from a character perspective (just wanna note here this is not a “and this makes x character A Bad Person” hot take or whatever, characters have character flaws and that’s what makes them interesting to me, please don’t come to my inbox saying i hate fjord or caleb or caduceus or veth or jester or beau or yasha because that’s just not the case) anyway imo yasha is currently the only one who hasn’t shown a big moment of this flaw, everybody else has. yes it’s possible i don’t remember a moment for yasha at this second but tbh she’s spent so much time getting controlled by other forces this campaign like :( give yasha a break challenge :( she gets one from this post

early on beau had her kind of rebel without a cause, too cool for school thing going on - to me that’s a kind of pride? like it came from a feeling of isolation and disconnect from the people around her and the structures her life had operated in and also the idea that “i’m the only one who sees how bullshit everything is” that’s (at least in my own experience) a really common feeling in late teens/early twenties. honestly the first moment that shook her out of it was dairon imo (i know that a lot of beau’s change is attributed to molly’s death but i honestly think it started back with that brawl in the warehouse) and dairon has continued to be a (flawed themselves) check against arrogance for beau which is really interesting to me? anyway continuing

fjord’s whole persona that kinda wasn’t a persona during the pirates arc (i’m talking specifically about the captain pursuing his own ends, not about the accent thing) was very much a character based on knowing more about the world than everybody else did, even though i don’t think fjord himself believed it? honestly for all that you can say about fjord i think he’s lowest on the list in terms of pride (besides yasha!! who isn’t on this list!!) bc he’s very honest about the fact that he often feels like he just does not know what’s going on around him. props to that bc it is hard to do.

veth’s biggest Moment of this (and pride just doesn’t feel like the right word but i don’t know how else to capture the meaning, the idea of Knowing Better than everyone else i guess? you know what i mean) that i can think of is the letter to astrid in zadash that everyone screamed about bc caleb was the current fandom favorite sadboi at the time; it was such a big moment of trying to arrange someone else’s life for them that’s like. like it’s a Big Moment idk how to explain it. i think a lot of the responsibility she feels for yezza and luc also relies on the premise that she Knows Best which again is super interesting because it clearly causes her a lot of guilt that she’s not doing Enough for them in her own eyes when it’s like... like... talk to each other... idk idk i have Feelings about the brenattos. Arranging the lives of other people, no matter your intentions, is imo a thing that comes from thinking you Know Better than they do. 

caleb... i so do not want to re-litigate the disintegrate discourse that was imo truly a waste of time last week but i do agree with the idea that caleb’s got ye olde mythological-level hubris. the man has a goal of turning back time to rewrite his own mistakes and like it’s not just a dream it’s a Goal He’s Working Towards which means that either 1) he believes it’s possible for him to do it or 2) he can’t admit that it isn’t possible and he has to live with ‘his’ mistakes (i can’t get into the caleb stuff rn but uhhh it’s not as much a personal failing as you believe it is caleb). both of these viewpoints are like. so dependent on viewing himself as A Power That Affects The Universe instead of someone who is affected by it which is kind of the sentiment i’m trying to get at idk idk it’s late i’m tired

it’s interesting with jester and caduceus for a couple reasons but the fact that they’re both literally blessed by gods is like... like i can’t say they’re unduly proud (i don’t really think that any of the m9 are like unduly proud) because they’re literally made More Important by the deities of the setting from the moment of introduction but we do still see really interesting stuff from both of them imo

caduceus thinks he knows better than everybody else which is something i think we’ve seen from the beginning as well? that’s part of why he’s kind of set himself up as the Wise Councilor of the group (and if you ask me, why he seems unable to reach out for support of his own - all the instances of someone digging deeper into him were instigated by other people from what i can remember right now) and it’s been neat to see him reconciling things he Knows Are Right from his time in the cemetery with a more complicated reality in the wider world. it’s hard for me to say that cad’s arrogant because he thinks he’s privy to the literal divine plan when he is privy to an actual divine plan thanks to the wildmother but i think it’s interesting to see it in the small moments. we saw it more earlier i think? but like this part of his character isn’t Gone. as long as he’s got himself designated as the group moral compass i think there’s an element of this in play. 

and jester ohh jester i love u i’m so sorry everything has been so hard for so long like aaaa imagine you find out your best friend (who is also your god) has been lying to you for all of your friendship and also lying to all of his followers (because it turns out he’s not a god, technically) that’s so hard anyway. anway. i don’t wanna derail into talking about how much i love jester but i love her ok? ok. anyway jester’s current defense mechanism is retreating into the fact that she’s the best follower of the traveler and he loves her the most, because she’s Special (which again, her god told her this there’s literally nothing i can say against it) but we’re seeing that kind of fracture in an interesting way if you ask me? because the fact of the matter is, whenever jester asks a question about ‘the followers of the traveler’ she is implicitly also asking a question about herself (this is why i was so fascinated by her convo with fjord tonight also). it only works for So Long to keep repeating that you’re special when you’re not sure about it anymore oh jester i am so worried about u ohhh :( i am so sleepy but i have so many thoughts
