Honestly the best piece of advice I can give to younger girls trying to figure life out is to completely ignore men. I'm not being quirky or cute when I say that, I mean it seriously. Ignore men's judgments of you, ignore their insincere compliments, ignore their half-assed romance.

Focus on developing yourself. Practice your art, play sports, do theater, volunteer, spend time with your friends, but do not put substantial effort into pleasing men. They'll be there for you to pursue when the time comes and if you want to. But nothing will waste your youth more than fighting for male acceptance.

ngl, the more I think about it, the more I feel conflicted over how people sexualize my characters.

On the one hand, it would be silly to deny that I don't go out of my way to create aesthetically pleasing/attractive characters because I love to draw what I enjoy, and I love it when people simp for them.

But on the other hand, sometimes it does bother me that people are so fixated on sex and their own arousal that they miss important lore/plot information that I get a bit frustrated

How to be an X-Men writer: do the bare minimum of Kittyana gay moments and make Emma Frost a one dimensional girlboss revolutionary so people forget you killed off the most diverse team of X-Men in years in favour of focusing on a bunch of white characters doing the interesting resistance work and relegating that interesting team into a mini that ultimately won't impact anything in the main arc but hey Kitty and Illyana hugged!
