Bade farewell to the Hero
It’s the onset of dawn. The dark night sky transforms into a beautiful shade of cotton white, colored with various hues of purple, blue, and pink. The sun, as usual, is slowly rising on the banks of the dark Yamuna, but today, her ethereal black waters carry a silent grief of her own as well as of the town of Vrindavan.
As beautiful as the dark night sky, lotus eyes as deep as the Yamuna waters, there sleeps the young beloved lad of Vrindavan, Krishna on the lap of the moon-like beauty of the town of Vrinda, Shri Radha.
“Have you taken your flute, Kanha?” Her soft voice, no more than a whisper, causes the young boy’s eyes to open in sudden remembrance.
Radha sighs with a small smile on her lips. Her nimble fingers bring out the familiar bamboo flute decorated with a peacock feather and pearls from her waistband. Her fingers reverently touch the flute for one last time. Radha’s kohl-rimmed eyes flutter close, as her fingers close upon each of the seven holes of the flute. There is no music playing anywhere nearby, but only her heart hears the heart-wrenching tunes of separation.
Krishna’s fingers tremble while holding the flute as realization sets in. The moment the chariot wheels cross the boundaries of Vrindavan, his flute would eternally go to sleep. The city of Mathura has no loving gopikas, adorable cows, and young boys with him to play the flute all day.
“Being a simple cowherd is not your destiny, Krishna.” Radha tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear. As she looks at the tear-laden eyes of her beloved, she steels her breaking heart, her sorrowful eyes now staring at him like a powerful queen going on a battle.
“Your existence is meant for great things. You are to live your life like a king.” She points at the crowd assembled at Chief Nanda’s house, a grand cottage that looks tiny from the heart of the forest where they are in. “You have saved us and this town countless times. The world needs you. You are to be a savior for the whole world. For the whole Yuga.”
Krishna gulps his tears down his throat, which now burns like the fire of separation burning his heart. As a lone tear skids down his cheek, Radha’s voice grows bolder, and for a moment he wonders, how much strength does she silently possess in her being.
“Choose the path that leads you to your destiny, towards your dharma.”
Radha stands up. The golden rays of the morning sun fall on her gentle face coating her fair skin with a powerful glow. Krishna stands in awe of the splendor that adorns her face. Goddess. That’s what she is. That’s what she has been.
“You are the rising sun of Dwapar.” She holds Krishna’s hand and entwines her fingers with his. Walking towards the narrow forest path, Krishna observes Radha’s gait. She always walked with a swan-like grace combined with a little shyness on her face each time she entered the forest to meet him. Today, she walks with her chin raised, her eyes fixated on the path ahead that shall lead them both away from their love-filled carefree times forever.
Within moments, they reach Akrura’s chariot. Radha knows that Krishna hasn’t spoken a single word to her. She knows that he won't be able to do so, nor does she have the capacity to hear his enchanting voice when he is on the verge of departure.
The whole crowd looks at their hero. Krishna looks at the tear-stricken face of his parents. He hears the loud sobs of his lovely gopikas who pampered him with butter and milk sweets. His eyes gaze over the grim faces of his childhood friends. The cows of Vrindavan stare at him, sadness clouding their eyes, but those poor creatures can’t speak a word.
Gulping the last of his tears that clog his burning throat, he steps onto the carriage. Radha smiles. Krishna’s eyes meet her once again and she keeps on smiling.
It will get easier to leave, Kanhaiya. Baby steps.
Radha takes four steps towards the chariot. Handing over Krishna’s flute to him, she slowly moves back, her eyes fixed to the ground. The crowd goes silent. The sobbing gopikas cease crying and keep looking at the scene ahead.
Radha folds her hands and bows her head to Krishna. His heart cracks open at the gesture. He bows down to her all humbled.
“You may leave now. We wish you well on the journey ahead. Make us all proud!”
Radha then takes her position beside Yashoda who is on the verge of losing her consciousness. Nanda holds her shoulders, in case she falls to the ground in grief, but only Radha sees how his fingers shakily rest on his wife’s shoulders.
All this while, not a word had escaped Krishna’s lips. The hero must always promise a return to his loved ones.
“My beloved Vrindavan people, fret not. This separation is only momentary. I shall come back soon to tell you all about Mathura. There’s no escape from my pranks. Go, rest for a while before your loved prankster comes back.”
Radha’s vision goes blurry. Her dark beloved appears to go far from her.
“Such a mischievous liar you are O Shyam…”
The sun is soon to rise for Dwapar, but for Vrindavan, the sun has gone to sleep forever.
***
I am sorry :(
This was a dance idea but I decided to write a fic on this and then choreograph the abhinaya. I have cried while practicing this out too. Let's share tears??
Oh, yes I do love showing Krishna in mortal shades with grief, confusion and dilemma clouding him sometimes too. :)

"Jade and Blossoms: A Father's Love for Y/N"
Pairings: Dad Zhongli x Child Reader
In the picturesque land of Liyue, amidst the towering mountains and vibrant markets, there lived a wise and revered man named Zhongli. Known for his unwavering determination and profound knowledge, Zhongli was highly regarded by the people of Liyue. But there was one person who held an even more special place in his heart – his beloved daughter, Y/N.
Y/N was a spirited and curious little girl, just two years old, with eyes as bright as the morning sun and a smile that could light up even the darkest corners of the world. She had inherited her father's love for history and the beauty of the earth. Wherever she went, Y/N would pick up pebbles, admire flowers, and listen intently to the whispers of the wind.
"Look, Papa! Look what I found!" Y/N exclaimed, her tiny hand holding up a smooth, round pebble she had discovered on their morning walk.
Zhongli knelt down, a gentle smile gracing his face. "Ah, my precious Y/N, you have an eye for beauty. That pebble is a treasure from the earth itself. Keep it close to your heart, just like I keep you close to mine."
Y/N nodded, her eyes shining with adoration. "I love you, Papa."
"And I love you, my dear Y/N, more than words can express," Zhongli replied, his voice filled with warmth and affection.
Every day, Zhongli would set aside time to spend with his daughter. He would take her on long walks through the serene gardens, pointing out the different types of flowers and plants, and teaching her their names. Y/N would eagerly absorb every piece of information, her tiny hand clutching onto her father's finger, cherishing these precious moments.
"Look, Papa! These flowers are so pretty," Y/N exclaimed, her tiny fingers gently touching the soft petals of a blooming rose.
Zhongli smiled, his eyes twinkling with pride. "Yes, my dear. This is a rose, a symbol of love and beauty. Just like you, Y/N. You are my most beautiful flower."
In the evenings, as the golden sunset bathed Liyue Harbor in a warm glow, Zhongli would sit with Y/N in his study, surrounded by ancient tomes and artifacts. He would regale her with tales of forgotten civilizations and mythical creatures, weaving enchanting stories that captured her imagination. Y/N would sit in awe, her eyes wide with wonder, as her father's words painted vivid pictures in her mind.
"Papa, tell me another story," Y/N pleaded, snuggling closer to Zhongli.
Chuckling softly, Zhongli obliged. "Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a magnificent dragon who guarded a treasure beyond measure. The dragon's scales shimmered like precious gems, and its wings could create mighty gusts of wind..."
Y/N listened intently, her imagination taking flight as she pictured the majestic dragon soaring through the skies.
Zhongli's affection for Y/N knew no bounds. He showered her with love and attention, tending to her every need and fulfilling her innocent wishes. From chasing butterflies in the garden to building sandcastles by the Liyue coastline, Zhongli cherished each and every moment with his precious daughter.
"Papa, can we build a sandcastle like the ones we saw at the beach?" Y/N asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
Zhongli nodded, a playful glint in his eyes. "Of course, my little sand architect. Let's create a castle fit for royalty!"
And so, with buckets and shovels in hand, they spent the afternoon sculpting towers and digging mo
ats, laughing and sharing stories along the way.
One day, while strolling through the bustling streets of Liyue, Zhongli spotted a delicate jade pendant in a merchant's stall. Its intricate carvings depicted a blooming lotus, a symbol of purity and enlightenment. He knew in an instant that it was meant for Y/N.
"Y/N, close your eyes," Zhongli said, his voice filled with anticipation.
Y/N obediently shut her eyes, giggling with excitement.
"Now, open them," Zhongli said, presenting the pendant to his daughter.
When Y/N saw the precious gift her father held, her eyes lit up like stars in the night sky. Gently, Zhongli fastened the pendant around her neck, symbolizing his eternal love and protection.
"It's beautiful, Papa! I'll treasure it forever," Y/N whispered, her voice filled with awe.
As the years went by, Y/N grew older, but her bond with her father remained unbreakable. Zhongli continued to guide her, teaching her the wisdom of the earth and nurturing her spirit. And Y/N, in turn, blossomed into a young woman filled with grace and a deep appreciation for the world around her.
Though the years brought change, Zhongli's love for Y/N only grew stronger. He cherished every memory they shared, from her first steps in the garden to her triumphant achievements as she grew older. In his heart, Zhongli knew that Y/N was his greatest treasure, a gift that made his life complete.
And so, the tale of Zhongli and Y/N continues, their love enduring through the ages. As Liyue thrives under the watchful gaze of the Geo Archon, the bond between father and daughter remains unbreakable, a testament to the power of family and the enduring strength of love.

Hakuryu/Stockings
Placing under Read More as it is longer.
The Red Lotus was filled with people; the bar was a hubbub of activity, the patrons enjoying their drinks and games. One table had been set up so customers could gamble against each other in a game of mahjong. Suddenly, the winner of the current game stood up, his red hair crimson from the glow of the evening lamps.
“A round of beers, Mr. Jiang!” Gojyo addressed the barkeep. “It's on me. Plus some wine for the lovely ladies.” Yes! he could get used to this. Gojyo thought.
The women who were perched around his chair giggled.
Gojyo basked in their warmth. He was winning big tonight in more ways than one.
He flashed a charming smile at the cute brunette playing with her ringlets. “Say, how about making me luckier tonight?” He added a wink as an extra measure.
Mao-Mao giggled and asked, “Say— Gojyo, do you like my stockings?”
Blinking at the slightly odd question, Gojyo glanced at her legs. They were some really nice legs covered in sheer black tights. “Sure.” He confirmed. Of course, Gojyo liked her legs. The stockings were a great addition.
The next few nights were weirder —every chick he took back home asked him some stocking-related question. Until…
_____
“Come on Gojyo! Return the stockings.” Said Mei-Mei, tossing her hair as she searched through his room.
“What stockings! I swear I dropped them on the chair.”
“Every girl that has come home with you the last few weeks had their stockings stolen. It's not cute anymore. Hosiery is expensive.” Mei Mei snapped at Gojyo.
“How would I steal it? I have been in front of your eyes the whole time — Also, why?”
Mei-Mei straightened up from the floor. She had been looking under Gojyo’s bed. She brushed the dust off her knees and glanced at Gojyo’s legs.
Gojyo’s eyes widened comically. “You think I’m wearing them?”
“Uh…”
Gojyo brightened, crimson dusting his face. “Why would you— Why would any of you…” he trailed off.
Mei-Mei shrugged. “We think you would look good wearing them.”
Gojyo spluttered. Was this his reputation now?
Suddenly, there was a knock on the bedroom door. “If I may…” Hakkai excused himself as he let himself inside Gojyo’s room. “…I may have caught the culprit.”
Gojyo blinked, turning towards his housemate. Hakkai flashed them both a beatific smile, dark hair falling over pleasant green eyes. He then turned away, leading them both towards the ladder to the attic.
“Is that— A dragon?” The awe in Mei-Mei’s voice echoed the sentiment in Gojyo’s heart. Curled up in a corner of the attic, nestled among several pairs of stockings, a blanket, and two very ugly sweaters, was a small white dragon. Hearing the noise from them, the creature lifted its head and greeted them with a “—Kyuu.” The high-pitched chirp broke Gojo’s reverie, having never seen a dragon before.
Hakkai approached the dragon confidently, kneeling before the creature and petting its very small head. “Look—” he gestured, showing them both his hand. On his hand was a small iridescent white scale. “He is moulting.”
____
The Red Lotus was once again busy. It was filled with patrons abuzz with curiosity as they gathered not around the Mahjong table or the bar counter but at one of the booths.
Mao-Mao cooed at the dragon and fed him a bit of raw bacon. “He is so cute…” Mei-Mei said as she tucked her hair back behind her ear, causing her iridescent earring to jingle from the movement.
“I am naming him Hakuryu.” Hakkai explained as he sipped his beer. Gojyo laughed as Hakuryu cooed back at Mao-Mao before slithering across the table to perch on Hakkai’s shoulder. Hakkai glanced at him, his emerald eyes warming and deepening from joy.
Yes… he could get used to this. Gojyo thought.

A small bonus for the Raphael x Ex Foot Reader for you because I just thought it was cute. uwu. Just a cute special extra bc ur cool.

"Woah..."
You closed the window of your fire escape Raphael had slipped in through, drawing the curtains as the terrapin looked around. He couldn't help his awe. There were small paper creatures all over every shelf and cabinets. Creations of different patterns and colours and shapes and styles. Animals seemed to be the most common thing you made, but that didn't mean that was all you made.
Some were shapes, cubes and pyramids and rings. Others appeared to be plants and structures, lotus flowers and boxes and boats and ships and roses and lilies.
The bouquet of paper tulips that he made you were ceterpieced on your cheap white plastic coffee table, a vibrant pop of colour that drew his eyes and made paper butterflies flit around in his chest and stomach.
Paper decorum hung from your ceiling, attached with sticky tack and twine and tape. You had made lanterns and stars that were covering the multicolored LEDS that lit up the rooms. He even saw "pinned" spiders and insects you had crafted tucked neatly behind glass frames, the designs of the paper making him at first think they were real.
Shapes and colours littered your home and life, battling the stark, cold white and sterile feeling of your apartment. A folded and creased garden of Eden, alive with facsimile fauna made by their creator. A papercraft castle filled with delicate subjects their ruler made by hand. A hand crafted heaven with a mosaic of angular angels that were tesselated by you, their god.
However, there was something that bothered him, that itched at the back of his brain the more he looked around. The place was lined with false life, but not a singular sign of real life warmed the walls or shelves.
"No pictures?"
You blinked, looking over your shoulder back at him as he realized what he said. "Ah! Sorry, I shouldn't uh, comment on your home design-"
You answered with a shrug. "I mean you're right. I don't have any. I bet it's...weird, huh?"
"No!! I mean- it's just a bit...unusual."
You deflated some as you sat on your beat up, off-white love seat, your reptilian friend joining you.
"Sorry. I know the place is weird. I don't...have people over...often.."
Raphael frowned at that, confusion palpable. "I mean...We really only ever have April over, and we still have family and friend photos put up...?"
You pointedly didn't say anything.
Something clicked for the red-wearing ninja. You had neither.
"Ah."
"Yeah. You're the uh. First person I've ever had over, save for the maintenance lady and the landlord. They don't... stick around..."
He wanted to ask more. He wanted to push and be nosy, curious as to why you had no one close enough to you for pictures, for memories, but he wasn't sure you'd appreciate that.
He couldn't help his mind, though, thinking of you and whatever folded creature you animated for the night being the only things that touched the floorboards. You watching TV in a stark, cold room, surrounded by your own creations staring at you lifelessly. You going to bed, no one wishing you a nice sleep nor anyone for you to do the same.
Your victories and joys going uncelebrated. Your losses and lows never being comforted. Your tears being shed in the loneliness. Nightmares and fears doing nothing but festering and compounding.
The stifling, crushing loneliness that crushed you during your worst nights.
No wonder you joined the Foot ninjas. Desperation for contact and comfort and companionship would drive anyone to do anything.
The more he thought, the less this felt like a home. It was a place to be, sure.
But this house was not a home.
Your apartment was treated more like that of a shiny, clean hotel room. You could sleep, and eat, and exist there. But there was never the comfort. It was never yours to stay. Like wasn't yours to warm.
...But it was.
Unthinkingly, Raphael found himself pulling his phone out. The camera app was opened, and he scooted closer.
He wanted to make this your home. Your haven.
"Would you like to take one wit' me? I can get Don to print em..."
Despite the clinical coldness of your place, your eyes filled with warmth that made him think of a desert sun. It thawed the chill in his shell and bones, and he felt his heartbeat quicken to a thrumming drum beat.
"...I'd love that, a lot."
Aww!! Raph is so sweet ❤️ Wants to help you make your house a home.. I love him ^-^ and I love you're writing nonnie thank you

⚡️⚡️ RO-TO-TO! VIDEO INCOMING. ⚡️⚡️
As soon as the video starts, the camera snaps towards a cluster of bushes, quiet rustles seeming to fade out as instantly as the Rotomdex turns. The video feed tilts, like a Rockruff’s head would in confusion, before turning back to Derek. He’s sitting criss-crossed, dragging his fingers through silt in a barren patch in front of him, many of the “Kricketot” either at his side, or climbing his shoulders to get a better view at what he’s doing. He’s just drawing spirals in the dirt, but the bugs are very closely following the movements, their heads moving in the same circular motions as his hand does.
One of the Kricketot, who seems to be impatiently waiting up till now, skitters to over top the dirt, scratching up the patterns to make room for its own. It hops from one leg to another, the camera flying closer to get a better view of what it's doing. Upon looking down, the dirt now has a scale-like pattern to it; the mechanical bug standing pridefully tall off to the side as the others quietly awe over it. Derek chuckles, reaching his hand out to give the Kricketot a congratulatory pet, though it scurries away before he can even touch it. He sighs, putting his hand back down. The camera flies down, sitting myself next to my stubborn owner, looking up at him.
“SO. THERE’S REALLY NOTHING NOTEWORTHY YOU’VE NOTICED ABOUT THESE GUYS?”
“Well, they’re certainly friendly, unafraid of humans at best..”
“WOW. YEAH I COULDN’T SEE THAT FROM A MILE AWAY. I CAN’T BELIEVE IT.”
Derek snickers again, petting the back of one of the bugs on his shoulder.
“Y’KNOW YOU BEING STUBBORN ABOUT THIS IS ONLY DAMAGING YOU, RIGHT?? HEY WITH THAT EXCESS DEX INFORMATION I COULD GET A REAL PROMOTION. THEY MIGHT FINALLY UPDATE THE GHOSTFINDER LIKE YOU’VE BEEN HOPING! UNDER MY WORD! WHAT’S SO WRONG WITH THAT?”
Upon saying this, the camera lifts up, floating circles around Derek, waving my arms around as I speak. Instead of taking up on this amazing opportunity, he swats me away, pushing me closer to the ground while turning his head away. I roll my eyes, sitting back down on the ground, subsequently being nudged by one of the bugs, its nose almost entirely covering the camera for a moment, sniffing at it.
The Kricketot perks its head up, legs slowly shaking, producing a deep, monotone hum.
WHIIRIRRIRRRR!
A much louder whirring is heard further back, in the same direction the bushes were rustling. The Kricketot in front of the camera sprints, legs spinning rapidly, completely fleeing the clearing in the forest. Derek hurriedly stands up in the background, looking towards the noise.
“Oh, light..”
He snaps the Net Ball off of his belt, tossing it in front of him, the Araquanid chattering in confusion after being let out of its ball. In front of them was a Kricketot, trying to pat itself out on the dry grass, its wings evidently on fire. He picks it up, trying to hold it still despite the creature’s relentless shivering and wriggling.
“This is not food. We’re helping it, alright?”
Lotus looks at the Kricketot, slightly disappointed at first, but he looks back up at Derek and solemnly nods his head. The Araquanid looks back to the bug; big, sad eyes laying upon it as he gently presses its water helmet against the bug’s shell. The Kricketot only seems to writhe more, even biting the man’s hand in frustration. Derek barely seems to react, and while it draws back at the sight of free-floating poison flowing from the shallow pincer marks, it’s equally unaffected. While its wings are still extensively deformed, it seems to be in much less pain, pressing its hand-nub against the aforementioned bite. Derek lays the bug down against the grass, the gathering of other Kricketot rushing over to make sure their kin is alright.
“Tik, let Paral out and grab a Rawst berry from her saddle.”
“K.”

(Hopefully I’ve read this right - and it means fic with the second most amount of kudos, fic with the third most amount of comments. Rather than to name the fic with most kudos second, then the fic with most comments third - otherwise the answer is Futures Written for just about everything apart from shortest)
1. Most hits. Futures Written on Shifting Sand https://archiveofourown.org/works/21989497
Summary: Canon divergent AU.
Following their rescue from Xuanwu of Slaughter’s cave by Jiang Cheng, Wei WuXian and Lan Wangji are both brought back to Lotus Pier to heal.
Even with MianMian’s herbs that Lan Wangji was given in the cave he was still very sick from the Xuanwu’s bite on his leg. It had after all been a centuries old creature filled with death and resentful energy. It was not an easy injury to recover from, especially not when Lan Wangji had exhausted himself caring for Wei WuXian before they were rescued.
Recovery along with realisations about how they feel towards each other will be interrupted by the Wen attack on Lotus Pier.
Summed up as Lan Wangji is sick, Wei WuXian realises what should have been obvious, Wen Chao is still awful, some characters still die (sorry) and the Sunshot Campaign still happens, if rather differently.

🎁 - Covered in a drop cloth to once side of the shop is an enclosure designed for Jinana's adult Magehunter Scarabs. It had been a work in progress ever since the grubs had been gifted to hir last year, and now it' time to show off the fully planted, contained environment a little. (Even if it had to be moved after the party was over.) Heron waves over Jinana, "Ready to see it?" - vesuvian-disaster
"Is it time for the main event already?" Jinana rubs hir hands together in anticipation, coming to stand before the draped enclosure. S/he knows what it is, of course, but its appearance has been kept a secret from hir until now.
Heron smiles and lifts the corner of the drape, handing it to Jinana to tug away, revealing the terrarium.
He has outdone himself. Succulents are clustered about, carefully chosen for their resemblance to lotus flowers, looking as if they are floating on little pools of water-blue glass pebbles. The pure white sand of the substrate has been carefully raked in flowing patterns around the various bits of sculpture that will serve as hideaways for the creatures that will live here. While the front pane is of clear glass for viewing, the other sides consist of panels of stained glass with delicate beetle motifs.
"It's beautiful," Jinana breathes. "Oh, let's show them their new home!"
It's a simple matter to lure the newly-metamorphosed beetles from their jars of earth; the smallest amount of magic summoned to hand brings them forth, antennae fanned out and seeking. They are small yet - perhaps three inches long - but their carapaces are already splendidly iridescent, the little hairs of their limbs giving off shifting glimmers of light as they move. Six in number, three of them have visible 'horns' - the males. They all skitter to and fro in the enclosure, investigating the mildly enchanted objects placed there for their enrichment. One of the males begins rolling a rune-engraved brass ring with his back legs, no doubt intent on burying it.
"Look them go! Aw, they love it." S/he turns and gives Heron a big bear hug - or at least, the biggest hir arms can manage, laughing. "It's wonderful, thank you."

17 - “"I never said it would be easy."
Fandom: When The Night Comes (fanfiction) Characters: August, Hunter player character Rating: G Warnings: general game spoilers
“And—that’s the last one.”
Tethys practically slams the sheet of paper atop the sizable stack that sits on her desk. Throwing her arms up in the air, she gives a loud sigh of relief as she reclines back into her chair, enjoying the respite from looking at tiny text.
“I better not be catching you slacking on the job already, General.”
August slides into the room, closing the door behind them with a quiet click. There’s no true admonishment behind their tone in spite of their words; Tethys only answers with a grin as she slowly rises from her seat.
“What might be slacking for me would still count as a regular, decent day for other Hunters, you know,” she playfully argues back. From a cupboard she pulls out a kettle and two cups, filling the former with tea leaves and setting water to boil. August slides into the couch sitting in the office with comfortable familiarity as they wait.
“True, but you’re not one of the other Hunters. I have high hopes and expectations for you, you know,” they chuckle.
“Oh, and don’t I know it,” she sighs with a smile. When the water is hot enough, she lets the leaves simmer for the required amount of time before pouring out two cups worth. Offering them one cup, she plops into the couch next to them, enjoying her brew.
“I don’t know how you do it, or how you did it before, August,” she exhales. “And here I thought it would be the fights that kill my back, but I’m beginning to feel it might be my awful sitting posture.”
“Now you understand why I go out of my way to be out in the field,” they laugh in response, taking a sip.
“Now who’s the one slacking? It’s your job to give information to your Hunters of potential threats.”
“I never said it would be easy!”
They really didn’t, not that she had needed them to anyway. Hunters are primarily trained to pursue dangerous creatures of the night; what a strange, upside down turn it is to now be pursuing her own kind. A steady stream of Enforcers and other officials to vet, systems and rules to amend, all on top of the threat of monsters they already face.
But it’s a quiet moment for them at last, rare in the shadow of Harry’s conspiracy. Tethys allows herself to close her eyes, if only for a few seconds.
“Do you regret it, Tethys?” August asks, quiet.
She doesn’t open her eyes immediately, the corner of her lips turning up ever so slightly. She thinks of a once sunny pier, its waters full of lotus flowers before war swept them away. Of the churning sea she crossed to come to these lands, of the roughshod, bloody path she’s left behind as any other Hunter has. A lonely journey, for so many years. But one that brought her here.
When she opens her eyes, they’re peaceful. “No. Not a single thing.”

Verse 11.23 - Vishwarup Darshan Yoga
O mighty Lord, in veneration of Your magnificent form with its many mouths, eyes, arms, thighs, legs, stomachs, and terrifying teeth, all the worlds are terror-stricken, and so am I.
Arjun here expresses his awe and fear at seeing the Cosmic Form of Lord Krishna, who reveals Himself as the Supreme Lord of all creation. Arjun addresses Him as mahā-bāho, or the mighty-armed Lord, indicating His supreme power and strength.
Arjun describes the Cosmic Form as having many mouths, eyes, arms, thighs, legs, and stomachs. This implies that the Lord (or the Energy representing Him) pervades everything and nothing is outside His body. He is the source and sustainer of all beings and worlds. He also has many teeth, which are karāla, or terrifying. This indicates that He is also the destroyer of all creation at the end of time.
Arjun says that seeing this form, all the worlds are pravyathitāḥ, or terror-stricken. This includes not only the human beings, but also the celestial gods, sages, demons, and other creatures. They are all bewildered and frightened by the Lord's majestic and fearsome appearance. Arjun also admits that he himself is terrified by seeing this form.
Similar verses from Vedic texts that describe the Cosmic Form of the Lord are:
- The Śhwetāśhvatar Upaniṣhad states:
सहस्रशीर्षा पुरुषः सहस्राक्षः सहस्रपात् । स भूमिं विश्वतो वृत्वा त्यतिष्ठद्दशाङ्गुलम् ॥ ३.१४ ॥
The Supreme Entity has thousands of heads, thousands of eyes, and thousands of feet. He envelopes the universe, but is transcendental to it. He resides in all humans, about ten fingers above the navel, in the lotus of the heart.
- The Kaṭhopaniṣhad states:
भयादस्याग्निस्तपति भयात्तपति सूर्यः । भयादिन्द्रश्च वायुश्च मृत्युर्धावति पञ्चमः ॥ २.३.३ ॥
It is from God that the fire burns and the sun shines, the wind blows and Indra causes the rain to fall. Even Yamraj, the god of death, trembles before him.

VentiSongs | December 2022
December 2022 Playlist featuring new songs by Cristobal Tapia De Veer, Lissie, Carsie Blanton, Dilettante, Freja The Dragon, Peter Bjorn and John, Josiah and the Bonnevilles, Pearla, Molly Payton, SSVU, Silversun Pickups, Butch Vig, Lecrae, Vistas, Petey, Sunglasses For Jaws, Max Styler, Notelle, Dobrawa Czocher, Elias Braun, Astrid Sky, Goodnight Texas, Florence + The Machine, Ethel Cain and Library Tapes
1 | “Renaissance (Main Title Theme) The White Lotus Season 2” | Cristobal Tapia De Veer
youtube
The hottest track at dance clubs and music festivals right now comes from a Canadian artist – and it’s not Kaytranada or deadmau5.
“Renaissance (Main Title Theme)” comes from Montreal’s Cristobal Tapia de Veer, who composed it for season two of the HBO series The White Lotus (available in Canada on Crave). It features the voice of Montreal's Stephanie Osorio holding a single note that Tapia de Veer sampled and played on a keyboard.
“It’s really unexpected,” Tapia de Veer, 49…continue reading…
2 | “Night Moves” | Lissie
youtube
This is track five from Lissie’s new record Carving Canyons and was the second single taken from the album.
3 | “Rich People” | Carsie Blanton
youtube
Carsie Blanton writes anthems for a world worth saving. Inspired by artists including Nina Simone and John Prine, Carsie delivers every song with an equal dose of moxie and mischief, bringing her audience together in joyful celebration of everything worth fighting for.
4 | “Keep Time” | Dilettante
youtube
'Dilettante' is an art-rock collective led by multi-instrumentalist Francesca Pidgeon and is based in Northern England. The group was born out of Francesca's fear of committing to a single line up, and is her rebound project after a long-term relationship with indie-jazz four piece ‘Kumiko’.
5 | “Closer” | Freja The Dragon, Peter Bjorn and John
youtube
Freja The Dragon is the alter ego of Stockholm native Freja Drakenberg. Since growing up, music has taken up most of her time and today she’s a skilled singer/songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. After graduating from The Royal College of Music in Stockholm in 2016, Freja started assisting Björn Yttling (Peter Bjorn and John, Lykke Li, Primal Scream) in the studio, which led her to join Peter Bjorn and John as percussionist, guitarist and vocalist on the band’s Breakin' Point world tour. When she came back home, Freja and Björn started experimenting in his studio, which led to the embryo of something new, something that would become Freja The Dragon.
6 | “Blood Moon” | Josiah and the Bonnevilles
youtube
Josiah Leming is folk singer/songwriter and his audience is the Bonnevilles. He’s back with another great record 2022 and “Blood Moon” is my favorite track.
7 | “With” | Pearla
youtube
Pearla’s music radiates with indiscriminate awe. Whether it’s the befuddling depths of nature or the profoundly strange spark of a dreaming mind—she takes it all as equal magic. Her debut album is populated by eccentric creatures and quixotic scenes, her takes on mortality, intimacy, and personal freeness glowing with an air of mystique. 'Oh Glistening Onion, The Nighttime Is Coming' is a world unto itself and it’s out Feb 10th.
8 | “Ruins” | Molly Payton
youtube
New Zealand native, Moly Payton, is one of my favorite artists of ‘22. She’s been releasing new songs like the world’s about to burn since 2020. Maybe she’s onto something. “Ruins” is my favorite so far and the newest of the bunch.
9 | “David Lynch Has A Painting Made of Flies Eyes” | SSVU, Silversun Pickups, Butch Vig
youtube
Silversun Pickups have announced a digital release of their collaboration with producer and Garbage drummer Butch Vig, which was previously only available as a vinyl single for this year’s Record Store Day Black Friday.
The project, dubbed SSVU, consists of two new songs titled “David Lynch Has a Painting Made of Flies Eyes” and “Suzanne Ciani.”
10 | “My Head Feels Strange” | Vistas
youtube
Scottish rock band Vistas new single ‘My Head Feels Strange’ is the third single off their new EP ‘The Beautiful Nothing’, out in early January.
11 | “Spread The Opps” | Lecrae
youtube
Lecrae Devaughn Moore (aka Lecrae) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record and film producer, record executive, actor, and entrepreneur.
The first single from Church Clothes 4, “Spread The Opps,” acknowledges the opposition and stands steadfast despite it. “I’ve been running for so long from the opposition. Since I was a kid, there were enemies, both physical and spiritual, that were trying to destroy me. I decided to stop running. This song, “Spread The Opps,” is me knowing that even in the valley of death, God is with me. He’s scattering the opposition.”
12 | “Move My Feet” | Max Styler, Notelle
youtube
“Move My Feet” is a collaboration between Californian artist Max Styler and previously featured Notelle. It’s a track rising up the electronic dance charts for apparent reasons.
13 | “Lean Into Life” | Petey
youtube
Peter Martin, known professionally as Petey, is a musician and social media personality from Detroit, Michigan.
14 | “Twister” | Carsie Blanton
youtube
Carson Amanda "Carsie" Blanton (born July 22, 1985) is an American singer-songwriter based in Philadelphia, who performs on guitar. Blanton has released eight studio albums and three EPs, all with a "pay what you please" pricing strategy. Blanton wrote "My true calling as an artist is to share…What I actually want to do is make beautiful music and then give it to everyone, regardless of what they give me back."
15 | “Cat Psychosis” | Sunglasses For Jaws
youtube
London duo Sunglasses For Jaws are back with another new stunning track titled “Cat Psychosis” .
16 | “Prayers” | Dobrawa Czocher
youtube
Polish cellist Dobrawa Czocher is back on Ventipop. Previously featured her songs “There Will Be Hope” and “Con Moto” with Hania Rani.
17 | “Southbound” | Elias Braun, Astrid Sky
youtube
A peaceful and calm piano tune for focus and concentration. A collaboration from Astrid Sky and Elias Braun called “Southbound”.
18 | “Jane, Come Down From Your Room” | Goodnight, Texas
youtube
Goodnight, Texas is a tough-to-define storytelling folk rock band whose strength lies in unexpected sweet spots. “Jane Come Down From Your Room” is actually a song I’ve been listening to since October of last year. I think I intentionally kept putting off featuring the track because oftentimes, it’s the songs I am considering that I listen to the most often.
19 | “Morning Elvis - Live At Denver Ball Arena” | Florence + The Machine, Ethel Cain
youtube
Florence and the Machine recruit rising singer-songwriter Ethel Cain for a new rendition of “Morning Elvis,” the closing track from the band’s 2022 LP. Cain’s AMERICAN TEENAGER is one of my favorite albums of the year. I’ve previously featured Cain several times this year.
20 |“Velvet Ice” | Library Tapes
youtube
Swedish minimalist composer David Wenngren specializes in soft, evocative miniatures and his beautiful “Velvet Ice” closes out the twenty song playlists on Ventipop for 2022.

Inflatable Light Trail Decorations for The Lanterns, Chester Zoo - UK
Tumblr media
It’s that time of year again when families flock to one of the North West’s most popular venues to see the amazing Lanterns event at Chester Zoo. Unlike in the the daytime, the dark evenings provide an opportunity for an alternative, magical experience. Although the real animals may be sleeping, incredible illuminated puppet animals inhabit a carefully devised route around the zoo. Theatrical creatives Wild Rumpus are behind the extraordinary event which inspires both awe and a deep respect for the animal kingdom. After the previous year’s successful collaboration, the team at Glow Inflatables were commissioned to provide four beautiful, over-sized snow leopards and five lotus flowers for the event. The snow leopards can be found guarding a snowy mountain at the end of a light tunnel. They were carefully designed to reflect typical poses that may be seen in the wild and for ultimate realism, the material was printed with an authentic photographic texture. LED lighting was added to bring these stunning creatures to glorious life as the darkness descends. In a Japanese inspired garden, dragonflies are expertly operated by puppeteers who fly them around the giant inflatable lotus flowers supplied by Glow, occasionally allowing them to settle. In a recent review, the Manchester Evening News stated that the Lanterns was ‘a brilliant evening out’ and ‘surprisingly moving’. The dedicated team at Glow Inflatables was happy to be a part of this magnificent annual event and can always be relied upon to provide illuminated custom inflatables of the highest quality.
