< Hugs from God >

Tonight Cora wanted to listen to her song “Lord, I need you”. I had both girls in the living room and played Cora’s song, as I tried to console Harper. Cora became upset because I wouldn’t dance with her. In that moment, I was faced with a 3 year-old meltdown.

The next song came on and I just remember this peace and calm take over my body as I closed my eyes, Cora yelled at me and flopped on the sofa multiple times. She yelled and screamed “I want my necklace off!” I closed my eyes and listened to the words pour into my heart and mind. I finally looked at her and said “I will not take off your necklace unless you can ask nicely”.

She blinked her eyes and starred at me as a tear rolled down her face. We starred at each other for a minute before I opened my arms and she went in for a hug. I held her as long as she needed.

BUT during this time I had a vision of God hugging us both in this moment. Then I saw the words, “You are like this child. I may not answer your prayers or wants and desires but I will always hug you my child. No matter how many tantrums you have, no matter how many times you turn away, or yell at me. I will always be here.”

I started to cry. The grace we receive daily from God is beyond what I can ever imagine. He is always there, waiting, and wanting a relationship with us. This moment was one I wished I could have captured and then draw God’s arms around us. It was a very humbling vision.

May you remember in your storms and tantrums he is right there just waiting for you to go to him.

La fiction prend le pas

Intriguante chose qu'est d'aller au cinema et de se retrouver seul dans la salle à profiter de la projection. Une première pour moi ce soir en me dirigeant pour une tardive séance de Paterson à utopia. Le froid et l'heure a du faire rester les habituels spectateurs chez eux, et c'est tant mieux pour moi. Avoir un cinema pour soit, aucune gêne des autres, aucune gêne à s'imposer, apprécions le film avec nos récepteurs à leurs maximums. C'est un jour à mémoriser !

In the end, we both had the choice.

“This isn’t actually it, is it?” He whispered to himself as he walked away… “again?”

The fact of the matter is, as much as it shattered him to leave, it destroyed him to stay.

He tried, he gave options, he tried to instil change,

He forced himself to watch you drown, too be patient throughout the pain that only seemed temporary.

He spent countless nights in that empty house, praying it was going to be…

He will always love her, he will always be reminded of her at every corner, he will always think about that laugh, that smile, those times she stuck around for a while….

But he cannot wait, not because she didn’t wait for him, but because when he’s with her time seems to stop.

Unfortunately for him, time doesn’t stop, it doesn’t wait for him to walk out that door into the real world. It just passes him by while he watches her suffer in his presence.
