This specific clip took the internet by storm trying to figure out who this mystery woman is. Even looking at some of Nanamis old “Get ready with me to go to the Met Gala” videos. Once they Finally found out that it was you, it could’ve made anyone slap their heads because the only fashion shows Nanami would be seen at were yours. There’s clips of you and him talking after shows yet, no one could’ve guessed that you were married to the famous actor.

. You didn’t necessarily pay much attention towards your and Kentos little “outing”. You had other things to focus on, such as your new fashion line. This line to months to make and you’d be damned if you let Kentos littles fans distract you.

“Darling..?” Kento called out. It was so silent. Unusually silent. Right about now, youd probably be running into his arms. Placing soft kisses all of his face. And yet you were no were to be found. tay i want to know all your observations and theories and thoughts and headcanons or WHATEVER about the eighth sense (i know there’s a movie version and that reaction video out there but i haven’t watched it so please humour me if you already have lololol)

crista my love!!! 🥹💕 omg i'm so glad ur also watching t8s i need everyone to watch it, it's just sO good. i'm also blushing twisting my feet twirling my hair that u want to hear me cry about this show because lmfaooo i'm the least coherent person to do this and so many wonderful things have already been said but i'll just reiterate some thoughts here since i just finished re-watching episodes 1 & 2 for the third time. this is way too long i’m so sorry bare w me pls:

i feel like the beginning sequence (before we are drawn to the present story) tells us everything and absolutely nothing at all. jaewon and jihyun sit on the beach, there’s a sound of a heart beat, their hands are touching, and then there’s a fading superimposition shot of the ocean waves. first of all, i love a good superimposition shot, not just because it’s nice to look at, but because these types of shots play with time and space. we then get that black and white shot of someone surfing, and then a cut to someone being pulled out from under the waves. another superimposition shot from the ocean to that scene back on the beach but jihyun is no longer there and we can hear the sound of sirens. i can see why there were death theories flowing around on twitter lol. from the shot of jihyun to no-jihyun it can allude to something like that but remember what i said about superimposition playing with time and space? the first shot is the future (or present, depending on where you’re looking at the story—perception is everything). the black-and-white shots were deliberate, though. those were in the past. and judging from the later conversation where jihyun trails off about a younger brother, it’s most likely jaewon pulling this younger-brother type person out of the water.

after the credits we get one of my favourite shots so far: a fish tank, taking up nearly half the screen in the foreground, and a blurry vision of the back of jaewon’s head in the background. as we get to know more about jaewon i’m really curious to know what this could be a metaphor for, but the most cliché metaphor for now is “fish out of water.” that seems to fit jihyun more, being a lil’ country kid in seoul, but i feel like for jaewon it’s more about the fact that he wears a mask of a confident person. and he’s damn good at masking. he let’s his friends carry on their double-edged conversation about how oh-so-easy his privileged life is and only gets angry when his friend crosses the line and pushes him over (because although jaewon might be easy-going, he is not a pushover).

jaewon and jihyun’s first exchange outside the pub is so good 😭 there’s banter—i love how sassy jihyun is and how it comes out in front of jaewon—but one thing is established in this scene: their interest in each other. for jihyun, it’s the fact that he was eavesdropping on jaewon and co.’s conversation and congratulated jaewon on completing his military service. jihyun also seemed a bit annoyed initially but he could’ve easily directed jaewon to the nearest convenience store to buy his own cigarettes, but jihyun brings jaewon two (which jaewon seems surprised about) and lights it for him. jaewon’s interest is solidified the moment jihyun slips him a lighter before he leaves. i went absolutely feral at the way their fingers lingered—far too long to be written off as just a small exchange. if a lingering touch isn’t the queerest thing you’ve ever seen, idk what is 😩

my favourite scene so far is their third encounter. i will never shut up about it tbh!!! pissed off by his friends crossing his boundaries and inviting his ex-gf to the pub (where he’d dragged them in because he was lowkey looking for jihyun 👀), jaewon goes outside for a smoke. jihyun follows him out and attempts to be brave: he tells him “my name is jihyun. i thought we should know each other’s names if we’re going to be friends” [cue tay screaming in the background]. the way jihyun looks at jaewon, the sincerity in those doe eyes, and jaewon’s shocked but absent expression is everything. i’ve already screamed about this in the tags but like i’ve said, jaewon is constantly putting on a mask for everyone around him—he’s nice, he’s got everything handed to him; he’s the quintessential golden boy. in all their encounters so far jaewon has been cheery and extroverted, but the fact that he doesn’t have the energy to put on a mask and doesn’t hide his expression from jihyun says a lot. jihyun will slowly become someone who jaewon can be 100% himself around and there is something so *sharp inhale* about that.

jaewon asks jihyun his name again on the bus to their surfing trip, and the little smile that is threatening to curl up on the corner of his lips absolutely killed me. sufa @heart-ming​ said it perfectly: jaewon knows his name, of course he knows his name. he’s been thinking about him (when he’s outside his family home as he smokes the second cigarette, or going into the bar to see if he’s working). jaewon’s obvious disappointment in seeing their sleeping arrangements is also funny, but that doesn’t stop jaewon. he practically begs the club president to let him teach jihyun, and the two continue whatever the hell it is they have going on on the beach; alone.

(also i could talk forever about the scene where jaewon helps jihyun into his wetsuit like—the way jihyun looks SO nervous and bare in front of jaewon, and the way jaewon puts on a soft and reassuring smile when they’re face to face, but the moment jihyun turns around, jaewon’s mask crumbles and we can see that he’s also nervous from their proximity. the intimacy of helping someone put something on is insane).

i’m fairly certain that kim jihyun is well aware of his sexuality (the boy is a girl group stan i mean c’mon). he might not be out, of course, but he’s been more straight forward about his intentions in pursuing his crush. jaewon on the other hand seems to be doing things not because he’s aware of his attraction to the same sex, but because he’s attracted to jihyun and a bit impulsive about this new-found attraction. there’s this magnetic pull the younger seems to have on the older, and for now, he’s kind of fallen into that trance. but from the synopsis we know that they will be sharing a kiss, and that jaewon will proceed to act as if nothing happened. i’m not ready for that angst next week 😭😭 but i’m actually curious if jaewon really isn’t aware, or he’s just afraid and in the closet??? is the “younger brother” he trailed off about actually his younger brother, or someone who he used to like????? i have so many questions about jaewon’s past that i need answering is it wednesday yet??????????

ok i’m talking too much about jaewon—that’s my blorbo, my baby girl, my cinnamon apple—but i also adore jihyun. he tells jaewon he’s trying to not be scared and he’s been doing some brave things the last two episodes i’m so proud of him :’) his braveness is quiet, like him. there’s something that was said to him by two different people that was pretty similar:                            

“at first, you’ll be clumsy and scared of everything, but that’s because you aren’t familiar with it.” “then are you afraid of many things? that’s just because you have many things you don’t know” 

the first quote was said by his boss when they were drinking, and the second was said by jaewon on the beach. i love these quotes and the fact that we heard them twice because besides being a romance, the eighth sense is very much a coming-of-age and about both of these young queer men coming into themselves. it's just uGH so great.  

icb i wrote so much and i didn’t even mention the surfing lesson or shower scene like........ there are just so many layers and nuance to this show and the storytelling, dialogue, and cinematography are all so good. i feel like the director captured the queer experience so well and i can’t wait to see what else is in store for us!! the korean theatrical release was heavily edited and cut down so i can’t wait to see it in it’s full form, how it was intended :’)

I amazed myself with how fast I’m writing SRN, like, this should have been the series that I pulled a netflix with.

Oh yeah, no Chan went full Prince Charming trying to find Y/n. Also, the 99.9% of the time thing is how I feel like he feels with the rest of skz.

The funny thing about the skz gc is that the rest of skz were mostly going to be background characters bc it’s mostly Chan and y/n but clearly the skz in my head did not like that. And Lix asked for ONE thing and Chan had the audacity to forget it.

Writing for 8 people is hard but since there is so much skz content online I can just watch interviews and skz codes and variety shows and use that to based their characters on at least. I try to make it as accurate as possible

They really did kill off Moiraine eh? I knew it was coming but damn. That's a rough time holy. The fact that her death was foreshadowed to hell and back honestly probably made it worse because I was waiting for it the entire novel.

And THE FINAL BATTLE WITH RAHVIN AND HOW EVERYONE DIED BUT THEN TIME SHENANIGANS!!!! Literally got chills.

The whole chapter pulled on my heartstrings and I felt for him, the ptsd from his past relationship, the being cautious of letting anyone in - I get that. 🥺 Honesly, I can see the growth in his relationship with mc, and I love it. Also, the fact that he wants to speak to her and clear shit up, but thats just easier said than done, especially when both of them have trouble speaking out their minds and hearts. Especially, considering how complicated their relationship is because they feel like they are crossing boundaries when they aren't.

Eunbin... that selfish, egotistical, manipulative bitch .... 🙃 I swear to god she is the most unreasonable person ever. I had a friend like her. Constantly making herself the victim of her own decisions, and feeling like its all justified because she felt like it was alright. eunbin is...... a tricky character for sure. but she's so fun to write and i'm enjoying including her in more scenes (very excited for pt.3 because there's so much eunbin) she is, however, definitely the type that is able to get what she wants all the time because she has that sweet face and sweet personality that everyone adores. she can come across as very selfish and oblivious which, yet again, i love LMAO. her bringing the angst is just everything. angst is what i like best.

but ah..... i can't wait for you to see how jaemin reacts when he realises mc had left him. it's almost like deja vu.... but yeah! jeno is literally the best. he's so comforting and understanding, he's literally the bestest friend. i want him.

ok so my family wanted to go see a film and this was the only title I recognized from the list so I chose this one!

I did have a bit of foreknowledge about the film going into it:

okay! so we ate some dinner and went out to catch the 10:05pm show

after like 15 minutes of ads, it finally started!

They're speaking Mandarin, woooo!!! I thought my mom would appreciate this (I was watching with my mom and two brothers; my sister was at a friend's place so she wasn't there. She should watch it tho it's gooood)

I did notice a slight accent in the Mandarin. My mom pointed out that most of the actors have Cantonese names, so this is probably why. The speaking was really good though, way more fluent than I could possibly hope to achieve lol

Also Evelyn and Waymond did that thing where they switched between Chinese and English a lot. i.e. speaking a bunch of sentences and then just randomly switching to the other language. And also some sentences are completely in Chinese, except for a couple of specific English words (e.g. "laundromat") substituted in. My parents do that a lot too!!! It was fairly common with Chinese friends who actually knew Chinese, too. e.g. "妈，我现在在mall了" c:

For some reason I thought they were owners of a restaurant. But oh okay, it's a laundromat, that makes sense too

Okay when Evelyn mixed up the pronouns for Becky I was like “omg mormy this you” because my mom actually does that a lot!!! In Chinese he (他) and she (她) are both pronounced “ta” and so my mom sometimes (not often, just occasionally!) accidentally calls my brothers “she” or my sister “he”. And she always goes on the exact same line about “it sounds the same in Chinese” too! it’s her fr fr

When the granddad was like "your Chinese gets worse every day" to Joy I felt so called out lmaooooo. 我的中文很差 she’s me fr 😭😭😭😭😭

btw 公公 (gong gong) or the more formal 外公 (wai gong) mean maternal grandfather, but these are more commonly used in the South. Where my parents are from, I’m more familiar with 老爷 (lao ye) and 老奶 (lao nai) to refer to my mother’s parents.

Also interesting that the granddad speaks Cantonese but Evelyn and Waymond speak Mandarin.

Oh, the fanny pack scene. Okay from the clip on the tumblr I got the impression that these security guards were some villainous force about to apprehend our heroes and Waymond did a MVP to save their asses. But no actually this is completely our MCs fault Evelyn lowkey (highkey) punched an old lady in the face completely unprovoked and then Waymond somehow escalated the situation and made it worse instead of just deescalating and apologizing lmaoooo. You couldn’t have picked a worse time to jump in here???  help

Okay the verse jumping thing is pretty cooool, and the low-probability thing to activate a different life branching line thingy is also cool! The branching is cool, the fancy phone app thing is cool, I actually really love graph theory! like. Thinking about all the different branches your life could have taken. I wanna see more of this!!!

Okay and the thing where Alpha Waymond is actually still in a truck in the Alphaverse while trying to do things in this verse kinda gave me the Matrix vibes very cool very cool

When everything splintered even more they showed so many different Evelyns I was like ‘holy hell how long did it take to get all these different costumes’ and each individual one only showed for like a single frame. wow

They almost got me with the fakeout “the end” and premature end credits but I watched Chronicles of the Going Home Club and also I know this movie has three parts you won’t get me that easily

I love the rocks scene. Very avant-garde, and a nice little resting point in the middle of such a breakneck pace movie.

“Most universes are like this.” No life, just sand, just rocks. Daaaam.

The everything bagel. The dark circle (like on the tax papers as well). I feel like this is a metaphor for a certain thing 😥 ono. If it’s that, then this is suddenly even more heavy.

I have no idea what Waymond is saying to keep getting Evelyn off the hook with the tax people but honestly MVP. even non-Alphaverse Waymond is really a great person

Okay but running after the truck like that is just inefficient, you’ve got 2 sets of legs, but you’re wasting a good chunk of energy on unnecessarily hoisting an entire adult body off the ground. I know this is funny and all but also it’s inefficient and you’ll never get your raccoon friend back like this pls optimize more sdljkjgldgjdh

Okay but the “this is awkward” by Joy just makes it more real and this is actually really feels but im really glad they made up

Wow part 3 is short

Okay, overall, I really enjoyed watching this movie! A solid 9.1/10!

When they said “everything” in the title, they really meant it lol. I really went through the full gamut of emotions while watching this movie, sometimes all at once! More mood whiplash than Symphogear episode 1! (some people may think this is a bad thing but honestly I don’t mind it lol)

The parallel universe stuff also really reminds me of Qualia the Purple, which was similarly mind-screwy. I love that series too.

It’s not perfect, because there are a lot of frustrating parts of the movie that could’ve been avoided if Alphaverse Waymond just explained things better, or if people actually communicated properly! Also I got severe secondhand cringe/embarrassment/social anxiety just seeing that whole situation in the IRS office and how they kept digging themselves into a deeper grave by assaulting various peoples. Imagine if the multiverse people suddenly dropped all contact and now mainverse Evelyn and Waymond have to explain all this to the authorities??? im horrified just by the thought of it fjlsjgfldjgkdflg

Also the Alphaverse Waymond explanations are interesting but honestly he could not have picked a worse time lmao. The whole time he was explaining stuff in the broom closet my mind was honestly going “ok this is interesting but the taxes pls tell me they’re going to figure out the taxes???” (as you may be able to tell I’m a boring adult dsfkjlgfdgjfg)

This is like me watching Squid Game and going “oh no, but what about the (illegal) organs” bc the TASK you know what I mean??? isjgdofidjf

And the whole thing about how Gong Gong was planning on killing his granddaughter. “she can’t be reasoned with” no you didn’t try hard enough try harder. This is probably a relevant allegory in and of itself; a breakdown in communications.

Closing Thoughts

Okay but nitpicks aside I actually did overall quite enjoy this film. I can see how this might be the film for everyone, though. My interests are very specific and this ended up hitting all the right buttons for me, but this might not be the case for everyone.

My older brother enjoyed it somewhat, gave it a 8/10. He seemed particularly interested in the bagel stuff, and kept prompting discussions about it afterwards lol. My mom didn’t like it as much. She did really enjoy the mother-daughter and other family stuff because that was real and relatable, but she didn’t seem to be as into the sci-fi or fighting stuff. She did find the scenes with the tax lady funny though, because she said she does have to do the taxes every year. When I asked her for a rating, she said it was half/half, gave it a 5/10. My little brother said he didn’t really like it, gave it a 3.3/10 at best. (But that’s fine, he didn’t like Symphogear either, so I guess our tastes just don’t really align that much 😅)

We did see the Shang-Chi movie last year, so I asked my family for their ratings on this movie as well for comparison (since also Chinese actors and relatable ABC stuff). My brothers gave this one a 7/10, but for my mom it was a 4/10.

When the sci-fi verse jumping stuff started coming in in the elevator scene, I thought it would shift from a more personal-scoped story to a broader, universe-threatening type of story. But I do like that it ended up circling on itself and ended up still being a family-scoped kind of story. No need to introduce like. Extra organizations or governments or random extradimensional threads. It works better when everything wraps around to still be related to the family.

This is maybe the reason why I also enjoyed Ryuusei no Rockman 1 more than Ryuusei no Rockman 2. in the first game, many of the newly created antagonists are directly related to Subaru’s close friends and adjacent neighbourhood, so it feels, closer, more personal of a story. The second game had various randos from foreign lands as antagonists, so I felt kinda less emotionally invested in the second game.

Y’know what I mean?

This is also a trap I hope Squid Game doesn’t fall into when season 2 comes out. Sure there’s this ORGANIZATION and BOSSES and CONSPIRACIES going on or whatever, but tbh it’s the family dynamics and interpersonal relationships that really drew me in in the first place, because those aspects were more relatable for me. I’m not as invested in this front man or these rich people doing rich and powerful people things, it’s just not as interesting to me. But maybe that’s just me.

Anyway enough rambling, I liked this movie, it is an EXPERIENCE. Definitely would rewatch. Graph theory verse jumping mechanics are super interesting, might explore these in some fanworks someday c:

From worst to best (or in your case, least awful), how would you rank all the sides of the Love Square?

Oooh jeez this will be interesting because I think my opinions on it have changed a lot.

I used to be cool with all sides of the square but since the show has devolved into what it is, I definitely like some less than others. Keep in mind, I haven’t watched the show since season 3 so I might be missing some info or be wrong. These are my subjective opinion too, it’s just how I feel about each so I’m looking the writing in all of them.

Adrinette

Because of what’s happened so far in the story, I can’t fucking stand this side. To me this ship represents the entire square so really I’m almost saying that hate the whole square, but it’s not exactly true. Adrinette is so frustrating because they canonised it without giving the audience the full satisfaction of the whole square being realised. What’s the point in the LS anymore if there’s no draw to it? Why are people still watching this show? Once again I haven’t kept up with the show since S3 so forgive me if I’m wrong but; didn’t the whole square flip at some point? So, Marichat were into each other but Ladrien was not? It rubs me the wrong way because it makes me dislike how they write Adrien even more: because it’s what Adrien wants, Marinette can finally date him, even though she literally got over him??

Anyway, I used to like this side of the square second most but now it just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It has so many more problems but I don’t have much time to go into them.

Edit: from what I know now with season 5, they are lowkey abusive?!?! With Adrien/Cat never being mad at Marinette/Ladybug for messing up and always giving in and forgiving her and telling her she’s right?!?! Holy shit they just made him even more of a doormat because he’s in love with her. It genuinely sounds like a reaction an abused person would have with idolising their partner, and creating an imbalance. Not to mention she doesn’t actually love the Cat Noir side of him, according to Catwalker, That’s so upsetting and genuinely fucked up, the LS is literally fucked.

Ladynoir

I always felt very meh about this side, but I understood where it had its fans. It’s kind of a shame that this side was just totally shut down by recent developments but it also makes things awkward because, Maribug had feelings for Chat at some point and Adrichat had feelings for Ladybug. They’ve definitely had romantic tension together at some point but that’s all supposed to be gone because of Adrinette. Thing is, I can totally see the writers sowing more seeds of emotional cheating because of course (I didn’t watch the NY special either but I heard that happened so).

I’ve always liked Ladynoir third most, second least? Because Ladybug clearly didn’t feel the same way about Chat. Sure further down the line she did but it started with Chat always pushing and pushing and her rejecting and rejecting. He’s tried to kiss her multiple times and even after he’s told no he still doesn’t get it (Prime Queen). Not to mention the disaster that was Glaciator.

I used to be whatever about it but now it’s just kind of sad, they could’ve had romantic tension without it being weird but now all hopes are dashed with now worries of cheating taking place. Yeah, it’s not looking good 😭

Marichat

I used to like this one the least (I never disliked it) because they weren’t mutually into each other. Since recent developments and a more of an appreciation for their dynamic, I’m surprised that it’s not my second least favourite but since they had that whole romantic confession thing I guess I shouldn’t be. Now I have no idea what the fuck is happening with this side but, good for them I guess? I have no idea how the development was handled for them developing feelings either but imagine it was somewhat okay so, big win?

Marichat always had a fun dynamic but I was indifferent to it it because I’m used to seeing “girl rolls eyes at boy being flirty” it’s just so over done in my eyes? And it almost felt like Ladynoir 2.0, because let’s be honest he WAS being flirty in Evillustrator. So yeah I was “just making sure I’m different” about it, but now we got Adrinette being that and Ladynoir being stale, I can’t help but actually appreciate this one, which, unfortunately, makes the standards quite low. Also, I never liked how much the fandom sexualised this side the most so I still have a negative bias toward it but it’s never what it used to be.

Ladrien

Onto my forever favourite side of the square, and it’s purely because of how they for the longest time had mutual feelings for each other. I always thought how cute it was that Ladybug was able to save Adrien and take his breath was taken away. Marinette got to be heroic for the boy she likes, and I can’t help but still get gushy over how Adrien swoons over her in Dark Cupid. Gorizilla is my favourite S2 episode and it’s because of the amazing Ladrien and how hilarious it is. It’s just a very bubbly feelings sort of ship, and it makes sense because 99% of the time I love my ships having mutual feelings from the get go or getting a long very well.

I have no idea currently what the side is like in the show. All I know is that they fell out of love w each other (kind of?), so they don’t have this bubbly feeling toward each other except for Maribug getting feelings for Adrien AGAIN. To say that it’s my favourite is still quite sad because there’s no hope for it.

This isn’t exactly a straight forward ranking because of my lack of knowledge and my own subjective opinion but, here ya go

favourite memory is a hard one i feel like i’ve forgotten everything i’ve done lmao 😐 oooh i was shortlisted in a young writers competition i entered a few years ago that was postponed because of covid, and they didn’t actually pick winners this time but two of my pieces were selected and published in a book with all the other finalists! that was probably my favourite memory, just getting that email saying my work had been selected was such a big moment for me (i’d honestly half forgotten about the competition bc it had been 2 years) it feels like such an annoying brag to talk about so i kind of stopped mentioning it after the initial excitement but it’s such a big thing for me because i doubt myself a lot and it was judged by actual famous published writers 😭 i also got tickets to see my favourite show as part of being a finalist which was another favourite memory because i got to take my family and we normally can’t afford that sort of thing!

1x09 is when Jensen broke me for the first time. That phone call scene? Heartbreaking! The fear that he shows the second he knows Sam can’t see him. Fuck this scene kills me every time.

And 2x01 kills me every time! ‘What the hell kind of a father are you?!’ i mean c’mon! The pain! The anger! I cry every fucking time!

2x04 that fucking line kills me every time. It hurts so fucking much. He really didn’t think he was worthy of being alive. I hate it here.

2x09 when Sam tells Dean that it’s over for him but it doesn’t need to be for Dean and he just goes ‘No?’ They had him say all that in his early 20s and then gave him that shitty ending?! Fuck them all.

2x10 that trip to John’s grave hurts! ‘Course i know what you’d say. Your happiness for all those peoples lives? No contest.’ I WANNA FIGHT JOHN SO FUCKING BAD

2x22 listen this whole fucking episode BREAKS me. The speech he gives to Sam after he dies. The ‘Don’t get mad at me. Don’t you do that’ when he tells him it’s his job to look out for him. The whole conversation with Bobby when he finds out Dean sold his soul. Or when Bobby tells him the world will end? ‘You don’t think I’ve payed enough?’ Fuck this whole episode hurts!

4x10 that entire speech about hell kills me every time! Jensen fucking killed it with this one and it hurts so fucking much! I don’t think I need to say anything else.

5x16 when Dean learns what Sam’s heaven is? Fuck. That quote ‘one man’s heaven is another man’s hell’ couldn’t apply more here.

12x11 need I say more? Jensen fucking destroyed it with that scene. You can see the sadness and the fear when he forgets his name in seconds and says ‘I don’t know’ that one HURTS! It hurts even more because he’s looking at us.

12x22 yeah, i think we can all agree this fucking scene hurt like a motherfucker. C’mon!! ‘I had to be more than a brother, i had to be a father. And i had to be a mother. To keep him safe. And that wasn’t fair.’ HE WAS JUST A BABY!!!

favorite thing about them

Oooh one thing? This is really hard. What attracted me most to him as a character is his humility and his strength in his stoicism, his quiet will to endure if that makes sense? Man’s been through hell of a lot but he just carries on for the sake of those around him and has more mental fortitude than he’s given credit for and he's wise for his age but he can also be chill and sometimes dorky and I like his well-roundedness, I guess. He is a good person even if he comes off differently, and he can’t see how good he is, and that makes me love him 😭 I like how his low-key nature is belied by something deeper. He has like, the kind of masculine traits that are more low-key and overlooked but I find super attractive.

least favorite thing about them

He has a tendency to... passivity, I guess? I guess it’s the lackadaisical part of his personality, the part of him that’s just happy to... just die and fade away into nothing and just see himself as how useful he can be to those around him? He doesn’t live for himself too much in any meaningful way, and it’s always kinda sad to watch. Like, on one level his self-sacrificial nature can be admirable and on another it's sad.

favorite line

He has so many good ones omg. I love the lessons he instils into the kids when they're little? He says something to Sakura after the Rock Lee/Gaara fight that;s like, there are times when condolences are crueler or something like that. Like, deep, bro. I know he was quoting someone else but i also loved the line he gave where he said 'to know what is right and to ignore it is the act of a coward'. That one's probably my favourite.

BUT, I wanna mention, one that's popping into my head right now is the one at the end of the Land of Waves arc, Naruto looks away from Zabuza's body and Kakashi says something like 'when you live your life as a warrior, this is how it ends.' Idk, it had an impact on me even as a kid, it just brought a lot of gravity to the situation and Idk, the kind of respect he'd had from someone he'd been fighting to kill for the whole arc and it's just one that got me thinking about men and soldiers and war. Like, I used to be obsessed with WW1 literature and it kinda harkened back to that, I guess.

Kakashi and Gai, obviously. I really loved their dynamic and friendship for so long before coming to tumblr tbh, where I kinda fell out of love with it (I just felt that both these characters are so much more than the other character but they just got reduced to that), but I’m appreciating it again. 

OTP

This is a cliche answer but none. I really don’t have any for him. He just doesn’t have any characters that I see him having romantic chemistry with - I don’t approach ships like most people, so I’m not super excitable or imaginative about ships to begin with, like, there are some I like and dislike, but I really don’t get invested in the idea of them unless they’re a huge part of the show itself, and that’s never been really why I enjoyed Naruto and Kakashi just doesn't have that with any characters for me. So, because i don't really have an answer, I'll tell you who I can see him being compatible with - he actually would work really well with Shizune, they'd balance and complete each other in a lot of ways, and he'd be good with Mei Terumi too, because you know, sexy man, sexy woman, power couple, both Kages, she has this understated badass feminine energy and Kakashi has this lowkey subtle badass masculine energy so I like that. His personality complements Iruka quite well too, he'd be compatible with him I think. The kind of bond he has with Obito is easier to reimagine romantically than it is with some of his other ships too.

I really don’t like any of his ships 😂  the student ships are particularly indigestible to me, and specifically during my teens I really hated Kakash x Sakura (it’s still probably my least favourite one, but no offense to any followers of mine who ship it), but like... I love Kakashi and Gai as a brotp, but I really don’t get KakaGai in a non-platonic sense, I really don’t (I'm sorry, I feel like that’s sacrilege on this website, and tbh that;s probably what’s emboldened my... confusion? of it).

random headcanon

Everyone says Kakashi is a dog person, and he is, but he is an animal person! He really likes being in nature and around animals in general, more than people. He would never turn his nose up at a cat and he'll watch some birds out of his window when he's half-asleep in the morning. I dont see him as a huge plant person but he's also got a hell of a green thumb, he probably just has one plant that he loves, but i like to think he has an appreciation and deep understanding of nature.

unpopular opinion

Lol I am the queen of unpopular opinions and I have a lot when it comes to Kakashi. Firstly, he’s not nearly as weak or as passive as a lot of the fandom would have you believe. Idk maybe fans want to make him more relatable and project onto him but they make fanon Kakashi a lot less functional and competent than he is in canon? He’s not defined by his depression or ptsd either. I think people on here feminise him far too much too (just something I’ve noticed, particularly with shippers. To me it’s a clear case of fan projection. Which is valid, but not what I get out of a show. Also, kinda unrelated but tumblr has this thing where they make established badass male characters into ‘uwu soft boys’ and I’m kinda allergic to it lmao)

Also, this is probably only unpopular on tumblr, but I'ma say it, I’ve always just had typical straight guy vibes from this man? Obviously people can see him how they want and I don’t really want to contest with anyone’s headcanons, but i’m someone that just goes by the source material, so when I see the idea of Kakashi with a woman being met with a lot of hostility and derision, it... confuses me a little.

In terms of from the series, again, so much, but i'm a sucker for the first time we see Kakashi's hair wet and I'm also a sucker for Kishimoto's manga art.
