Okay guys let me be clear I LOVE the l&co show. I love the cast. I love the adaptation.

But also. Part of me can’t help but think of how amazing it would have been if it was adapted in the 24 ep era of shows.

Because one thing about the 8 ep format is that there’s no time for filler episodes and man do I love a filler episode. Like the gang just messing around on a one off mission? The holiday episodes?! The slice of life content?!! The cast is so perfect they would absolutely body it

It’s funny to think that sometime after the fall of the Fittes House, I started to believe that the Problem was no longer causing so much suffering to the world anymore. But it is times like these, when death resurfaces and slaps you in the face, hard, that really grounds you to reality. Every day, the Problem robs the lives of innocent children who are just doing their best to protect others. Countless lives lost, the terror and sorrow it would cause to families and friends. Sacrifices. It was always going to be this way.

A day before Halloween, Lockwood and Co. is suddenly tasked with one of the most arduous and dangerous cases they have ever encountered.

A group of missing agents, an ancient tale of a peculiar girl, and a sudden outbreak of supernatural Visitors in the midst of order, when things seemed to have already calmed down.

The stakes are sky-high; will they succeed in their quest and save these agents? Above all: will they make it out alive?

Speaking of this holiday though, do you ever wonder what Halloween must be like in the world of Lockwood and Co? Like, is it a celebration akin to Rotwells parade where normal people try to "reclaim the night" and stay out longer than curfew normally allows? Maybe agents are tasked with shadowing groups of trick-or-treaters as they move through neighborhoods and steer them away from the more haunted parts of town.

Or maybe it's a tradition people are trying to let die out. Going out after dark will always be deadly so why have a holiday where you celebrate by doing just that? Maybe they've tried to morf it into more of a reminder and warning if how dangerous the world and the dead really are. Although, now that I've said that it seems unlikely. If there's one thing I think the general public can all agree on, it's that it's pointless to dwell on the scary parts of the world and whatever happens is just some agent's job. If they happen to die while on that job, we'll that's just cruke fate at work again. If they've got Talent then it would be selfish to stay home at night when they could be out there fighting all those pesky Visitors. Never mind they're literal children who shouldn't have to face these kinds of dangers.

Summary:

Kat’s tongue presses to the roof of her mouth, and she’s speaking before she quite realizes she’s going to. “It’s a beacon,” she says, one long exhale, like a bellows expertly pressed. “For the dead. For spirits trying to get home.”

Holly’s eyebrows shoot up, mouth dropping open slightly, her pretty round face pinching in surprise. “That’s portal magick,” she hisses.
