i think probably its weakest mode is probably rainmaker? it just takes soo fuckin long to get to the right side of ur spawn for defenders i think the spawning spot should maybe either be more centered or... mm yeah no thats all i got. if beacon was on more weapons i would probably run becaon on rainmaker undertow more.

BUT i love it on tower control & zones & blitz. i think splat zones would probably benifit the MOST from a left flank around the pillars bc its just sooo! need a better way to get around mid. i think clam blitz would also love that flank bc then you got 3 ways in instead of the 2 and i think my perferred way would get ignored more :3c

luna de mancy / lena = also mostly the same character. wanted to lean more into what punk style she already had. i love her arc in dt17, but here she reclaims her shadow magic + never has to reconnect with umbra ever. both she and umbra are ruddy ducks

sunny vanderduck / webby = shares an arc with cherry(huey), and while she still has the same role of having luna realize she deserves to have a good life and isn't a bad person, luna helps her realize that valerie(beakley) isn't the best guardian either...

twilight costa / violet = meets luna + sunny earlier on. outwardly she's mostly the same, but she struggles with feeling connected with other communities. american culture and her heritage, being too weird to one of the smart kids, and too smart to be one of the weird kids, being outcased from the rest of the [junior woodchucks]. but once she finds her place with luna, sunny, and cherry, she opens up her silly side more :)

oliver oca / gladstone: despite getting people to be around him with his luck, he knew he was still alone. never really seeing a point in trying to do things, when he knew his luck would handle it for him. his passivity worsens after the casino, where his efforts didn't help him get out. luckily, someone is looking to fix him... (post-development design. spoilers! he loses his luck. mainly connected to the rest of team magic through umbra, luna, and Rorschach Specter]

its based on how the sun/moon dynamic doesnt actually work well astronomically, and also the song "the moon will sing" by The Crane Wives

to explain it; the moon/Luna cannot shine without the sun, basically, he has nothing of his own and people only notice him because of the sun being there , not because of him himself

things like "moonlight" being just sunlight and such, the phases of the moon and moon events all being possible because of the sun, there is NOTHING the moon/Luna has of his own speciality

on the suns side, the sun cannot physical control this, he cant help shining light onto the moon, he feels that he deserves it he deserves the light despite it not being his own

the sun is not purposley taking away moons/lunas sense of self, but thats how it feels to Luna

Secretary Park: "...ugh. whatever. Im doing a short list and thats all. First is representative Smalls. I'd say she goes well with Seaborn Hongjoong. They both hold very good core leadership qualities and I feel they would play off of each other's creativity.

In lieu of sounding painfully obvious, representing Gaia would be a perfect match with Fuzanglong Jackson. He carries himself in a way that is cocky and honestly a bit overconfident, but I've seen him in the break rooms. He cares grately for the other trialmates and looks after them. Gaia works hard throughout the day and would do well to have someone around to just...help her feel small and turn off her brain. As much as he acts like a cocky jackass, Jackson would be a good fit.

As for our local mischievous ghost dragon Laz, i think his chaotic-and bratty bottom-behaviour makes him perrrrfect for Faerie Yeosang. Tinkerbell over there definitely had a deceptive, disarming smile when he first came into the office, but the more i talk to him and see him in action, the more I'm becoming aware of how good he is at wrangling brats and dishing out interesting "punishments". Granted, i wish he would use towels or a blanket in the office so my cleaning staff doesnt have to clean cum off the walls and floor for the nth time but thats besides the point.

Representative Tay likes a mean top who can take care of her, as well. So naturally, either Eldritch Wooyoung or War God Jaebeom. That describes both of them to a T and i honestly think she quite deserves to be, and i quote, "tossed like a pizza" . Undoubtedly, she'll gossip with me and give me the juicy details later.

Representative Luna would do well with paired with either the good doctor Yunho or Dragon Mingi. She stares out into the sea with such a sorrowful expression, making her potions by her lonesome. I feel she'd smile more and brighten up if she just had that one extra push to explore beyond her bubble. Those two do well at comfortably navigating their partner's struggles and issues.

(rotating the perpetua characters in my brain) actually no its kinda interesting how i can feel them shift away from hermitcraft as i write out the story, and how little changes to their situations and personalities can drastically affect the plot.

more (potentially redundant) brain thoughts below

damien, at least in the first 7 chapters of the script so far, has a very different personality to evil x. i upped his braincells and introspection for narrative interest (putting him at odds with wk), but that ended up growing into a tendency to ramble and be overly concerned with the moral implications of his actions. this (and helen being a positive influence on his emotional intelligence) actively hinders his villainy, just in a different way from evil x.

as a result, a large part of damien's character is how he rationalises and tries to resolve this dissonance of him recognising that he's doing bad things for bad reasons. thematically there's potential for social commentary here but i'm deliberately not going into that.

'why people do bad things for bad reasons', in my mind, mostly boils down to coming up for justifications for it or projecting onto the 'enemy' (scapegoating, essentially), which is mostly a wither king plot beat. hardly anyone ever believes that they're the villain of the story, just the heroes of their own.

meanwhile, damien is hyper-aware of the harm he's causing. he sees himself as his own 'villain', feels bad about it, but continues on the grand quest to destroy perpetua because it's something he agreed to do, and believes that on some level, he deserves the pain that comes from this. he and captain luna both share this quality and it will inevitably come to tear them apart.

its worth mentioning that captain luna is also very different from xisuma. xisuma in the hermitclone storyline was not portrayed in a very positive light (since evil x was the protagonist) and even if i was aiming for neutrality bc 'Hey, that's a Real Person's Likeness', he was always vaguely in the realm of 'well-meaning but horribly ignorant of evil x's struggle for identity and personhood'. because luna and damien dont have an author-character relationship i have no reason to portray them like how i would x and ex. luna is very quick to accept damien as being his own person separate from himself, and being the big damn hero that he is, shows more compassion and sympathy. the bigger issue in their relationship is luna's trauma surrounding augustin.

part of the fun of perpetua is coming up with character dynamics for relationships that dont exist within the hermitclone concept. worm man basically never interacts with xisuma (and even grows to resent him a bit after what happens to evil x), but luna and avery consider each other to be family.

avery and worm man's loneliness come from very different things. worm man doesnt have people in general- he's the outsider to a group of friends and can't join them for reasons beyind his control. avery, on the other hand, feels a disconnect from being the only one who was 'born into' perpetua and hasn't joined the crew 'on his own merits'. part of the difference here is in that perpetua as a story doesnt have to justify joke weirdness and that avery is a child surrounded by acomplished and talented adults

helen is actually the mvp because her presence as a grounded, well-adjusted adult changes drastically changes damien's life on marcianus. if she hadn't chosen to work against wk, damien would've been a more archetypical 'bad but sad boy' along the lines of zuko atla or hunter toh. not like he isn't already, but it would've been a lot worse. eidolon's characterisation later down the line is informed in part by helen's absence.

genuinely i didnt expect riza to be friends with avery since badtimes and worm man didn't really interact much. but i do welcome it because she's fun to write. she's quite a simple character right now, and i dont know if i should keep it like that or not because she works well as a supporting character.

sorry, au where i write the 100 show and bellamy ends up with clarke because i watched the show, monty ends up with harper and doesnt die because she isn't low hanging fruit and they love each other, raven ends up with shaw because if nothing else, this girl deserves at least a modicum of happiness and nothing actually happened to wick theyre best friends and things just didnt work out, jasper ends up with shae because i dont hate him and he's been through enough, murphy ends up with emori because duh, miller ends up with jackson because theyre great together and bryan was bad, lexa does not die but falls in line behind clarke ends up befriending luna because of how clarke has changed her and if they end up together thats great but they dont have to, i wished roan lived but i understand why he didn't but lets say he also falls in line behind clarke because i feel like he could but i have no love interests for him so he could be with anyone, actually if niylah is bi i could see them getting along, if shes strictly lesbian, i could also see her with luna, hell poly group of lexa, luna, roan, and niylah where all the girls are dating luna and lexa and roan are also dating niylah but separately, octavia ends up with levitt or no one i will die on this hill because lincoln was meant for her and she is forever changed by him so if she wants levitt then levitt it is because he is the only thing about season seven i will allow, i really like her and ilian together but i guess his death was unavoidable, i still like octavia and diyoza coparenting hope because even though i wish she had a better name they are still great coparents, also abby and kane are a duh and jaha dies because i hate him, speaking of people who i hate, echo, i have no reason to change the script other than hating her but like, i do so if she dies thats great but i guess she could end up with one of diyozas men or some miscellanous grounder idc, indra and gaia having each other for the rest of their lives is fine ig bc i have no love interests for them and i feel like gaia is ace but i have no love interests for indra and i think if she loved gaias father she could love again after all the fighting is done and that she deserves someone to be with if thats what she wants

it seems like machete and i have just magically cleared stuff up between us? he certainly doesnt seem to harbour any resentment towards me, or anything. we talk rarely when cranberry's with us, sort of like a mediator ? (cranberry is the unfortunate and accidental middleman lol, literally) although we do most of the talking without cranberry, sort of ignoring cranberry being there. we even have a snapstreak going. i've made peace with [the idea of] his girlfriend (she turns up in his snaps but it doesnt bother me anymore!) ; i found her tiktok and spotify a while back (not that i was looking for it). she has a playlist for machete with a bunch of swiftie songs too haha. it's different from mine. i think mine got really crazy because its sort of a mix between him and some other people, too, plus some songs are just there because i like them lmao

cranberry also has a girlfriend too now, i'm friends with her, but we're not close. it was sort of rocky between us for a while, and some weird stuff and some not cool stuff happened, but we stayed friends :) if i'm being honest, she's not the first person i would ship with him, but if he's happy, i'm happy!

another friend i might have dated is still around haha. let's call him han solo, because thats who he reminds me of. he's also cranberry's best friend! (he and cranberry insisted i write a fanfic for them hehe it was hilarious and caused chaos but everything's good!) he probably knows about eli by now. my friend, let's call her luna, is the captain of the sythe x han ship, but eli exists, and she knows it. but, she'll always ship me and han, i guess. he's nice, too. we only became friends in the period after everything with mchete and cranberry, so i don't think you've ever heard of him? but we had a blast towards the end of the year. we might even go to school together next year? i don't particularly want to make major life decisions over a guy who isn't even my boyfriend, but if we do, i would be really happy :)

all in all, i suppose it is a lovely end to a chaotic but perfect year ❤ i hope everyone gets all the love they deserve and live up to their full potential! it's made me realize that life is full of ups and downs, highs and lows, heartbreaks and falling in love, but in the end, everything always works out! i don't believe in luck, just hard work 💪

How I feel about this character: little serio rei deserves love. he deserves protection. he was abused and mistreated and the way he grew up chills me to the bone. he suffered and he didnt deserve to because he was just a child. that being said PERSONA as an adult sucks. i hate that guy. years of emotionally, physically, and psychologically abusing his students for no reason is not something i can forgive. was it jealousy that they dont live in cages like he did? was it a way for him to let out his anger and despair? was it just bc the esp manipulated him? honestly, i really dont give a shit. i understand better than anyone that abuse can easily become a cycle but that doesnt mean im okay with persona's actions. being abused as a child doesnt give you a get-out-of-jail-free card for abusing more children. natsume is my son, my blorbo. i cannot tolerate the grown adult man who COMMANDED him to take his own life and told him that his only value was as the black cat. no thanks. no hate to persona fans, but natsume is my baby boy above everything

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: i ship him with therapy and staying far away from all children always since his he has a tendency to act violently whenever he sees one.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: THAT BEING SAID. izumi. ah. maybe if izumi hadnt died rei wouldnt have grown up to be persona and things would be better for everyone. ALAS. he must also be held accountable for his own actions. it cant always be about how the esp fucked everyone up. persona is a grown adult, not just a victim of circumstance... tho it seemed at the end like he understood that better than the narrative smh

My unpopular opinion about this character: hmm hmm hmm. i talked about this in the discord with someone but i think its very sus that persona is more easily forgiven than luna. it smells like misogyny to me. luna and persona have almost identical arcs: being groomed by the esp, purposefully isolated and manipulated so they align with him, abusing children only to regret their actions and change sides at the very last moment. i dont really understand at all why luna is somehow worse than him when theyre pretty much the exact same. in fact, i could argue luna was a little less of a menace than persona when it comes to their treatment of the kids bc she only started playing a role with students halfway thru the story as opposed to being an abusive teacher for years before the story even began. theyre both terrible but i dont understand why luna is treated more harshly when persona is NOT better at all. at least luna actually stayed away from the kids after her redemption.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: i wanted so badly for natsume to punch him in the face or tell him off. we never got natsume saying ANYTHING about persona at the end which sucks bc out of everyone he deserves to and he shouldve gotten the chance. i choose to believe that natsume has socked persona in the face many times before the epilogue chapters.
