Who was the one to propose: Lyn was 100% the one who purposed. Made makeshift rings out of some thin metal, and gave Troy and told him they were getting married at the Bazaar. Troy didn't fight her on this considering she had helped him end the ranch days before and well...its not like they would find people better suited to each other lol.

Who stressed more over wedding planning: Troy for SURE. The man was really freaking stressed especially while choosing his wedding ring from a stand at the Bazaar. It was a lot of stress over a simple silver band, but he knew it made Lyn happy so didn't complain. Although technically Nick planned their entire wedding and it turned out pretty nice.

Who decorated the house: I feel like Lyn would probably take the lead on decorations? But would also love and value Troy's input on how to decorate their house. Laurel would probably leave certain rooms like Troys study for him to decorate however he wanted. She would just have a lot of fun in just the mundaneness of decorating a house, she would be excited.

Who does the cooking: Lyn for sure. Troy burns stuff lol. Not all things, he can make noodle and stuff, but Lyn in the main person to cook. She can't make like intense dishes, but pretty simple everyday stuff.

Who is more organized: DEFINITELY TROY. The man is intense about organization. Laurel likes things clean and organized but she also doesn't mind a little mess.

Who initiates bedroom fun: Both really. In the beginning Lyn initiates more often, but then once everything is comfortable its a pretty even split.

Who suggested kids first: NO ONE. Tracy was not planned AT ALL. Both of them freaked the fuck out. Never even talked about kids, but got used to the idea. They both referred to Tracy as an 'it' while Lyn was pregnant and Troy kept calling her, 'the fertilized egg'.

Who’s more dominant: It's pretty evenly split between the both of them?

Who’s the cuddler: Lyn 100%! Her love language is physical touch, and Troy just had to adjust to that 😂 She literally sleeps on top of him most of the time, and becomes a lot much more touch oriented when she gets pregnant. Literally walks around the compound holding his hand. Lyn also plays with his hair a lot, and braids it when he sleeps.

What’s their favorite non-sexual activity: Besides wrecking havoc, probably just reading together at night. They'll cuddle and read together before bed, Lyn usually running her fingers through Troy's hair until he falls asleep.

Who comes home drunk at 3am: Neither. Probably Nick 😂

Who kills the spiders: To be fair...I feel like this is Russells job 😂 Lyn isn't deathly afraid of spiders, but she doesn't like them, and tries to get Troy to kill them. But then Troy is like: "You kill walkers all the time! You can kill a goddamn spider." and leaves, so then Russell is the one that has to kill the spider 😂

Who falls asleep first: Depends but I feel like more often then not, it's Troy. Because one, he feels safe enough around and with Lyn to just fall asleep and sleep peacefully. Two, Lyn usually tries to fall asleep after Troy to make sure he actually sleeps.

I can already hear them. Two loud sets of feet tramping through the underbrush, one larger than the other, and their voices sound both annoyed and confused.

No, not just that—they sound like a pair of nervous babysitters, if not also a bit more.

Still, I can only guess what’s bothering them at this moment, though it might certainly have a lot to do with the girl and her friend who just came through this part. Especially considering that, at least for most of these, they’re wearing a certain combination of family colors.

If anything, they’re certainly not scared to be seen in public with one another.

This is probably why I waste no time moving in their direction, even as my hiking companion has to stand still for a minute before allowing himself to turn and walk upon a different trajectory. We’re going in the same direction regardless, so I don’t think I should have ANY trouble speaking to any of the others if the problem here is exactly what I think it is.

Not when I have firsthand knowledge of what DOES happen to young girls who suddenly don’t make it back home.

This is why I’m not afraid to meet them out here upon this very path, my head upright and my lekku at rest. I know for a fact that they have no reason to fear me, so in return, I can only hope that they don’t give me any reasons to be afraid of them.

Or…that’s my main thought, until I see the largest of the bunch crash through a few trees first.

OMG HI!! This is so exciting I haven't really talked about my beloved so this is a super fun opportunity ty!!

I haven't thought about it much, but they would have different feelings towards holidays. In general, Trystan would be more excited about them even if he had to spend them with his sus siblings while Haelyn would be more pragmatic, if that makes sense. Trystan would go all out for holiday parties, while Haelyn would prefer spending the holidays with her close friends and family she could use more happy memories. She's not someone who needs material goods to prove a relationship's worth, so something like a personal scrapbook would be more valuable than a random piece of ornate jewelry. Trystan or Marguerite would probably plan a huge holiday party and Lyn would attend for their sake she has a lower social battery but they definitely have a mini party at The Drunk Tank after (present exchange, holiday movie binge, game night, all that jazz). I feel like another tradition would be hosting events to fundraise for charities. Oh, and each year they dedicate the holidays to learning something from the other's culture like a dance, or cooking a cultural dish, or sm because I think that's adorable. It was a cute accident that became a yearly tradition.

You didn't ask for this, but going back to the gift thing, I headcanon that Lyn and Trystan wanted to propose to each other at the same time. So, Lyn commissioned (?) a handmade ring to propose, but Trystan beat her to it lol. He proposed with some kind of expensive family heirloom a week before the custom ring was done and now I realize this is a fic I need to write-

2. Again, I haven't really thought about it but their activities would probably be alternating from super relaxing cozy activities (puzzles, dog walks, sketching, movie night) to super energetic or outdoorsy activities like camping, traveling, hot air ballooning, something sports-related, etc.

3. In the intro post I mentioned Haelyn is left-handed and does abstract sketches when she's having trouble with a case. This is a way for her to brainstorm and use the "other half of her brain" to see the case from a different angle. She does like realistic sketching when she has free time such as still-life, landscape sketches, or just portraits. Trystan is an excellent muse and never lets her forget it lol

Support System - Sain/Florina

This is just something I did for fun, because I really like the idea of Sain and Florina having a support, and it’d be nice if more of Sain’s supports ended with him being friends with them. I always imagined Sain as a ‘Knight in Shining Armor’ type, when he’s not relentlessly hitting on women, based on his ending. I think a character like Florina would bring that part out of him.

Not intended to be romantic, but if you wish to read it like that, that’s also fine.

Sain: Do not cover for my folly! I am Sain, a Knight of Caelin! I chase after women because they are beauty incarnate, not because I wish for them to flee!

Florina: O-of course I just… when y-you’re so forward I feel… s-scared.

Sain: Those words are a stake upon my heart! By my honor as a knight, as long as you forgive me, I promise to never make you uncomfortable again!

Florina: Okay, I… I forgive you just… please d-don’t be so loud.

Ending-

Once Lyn abdicated Caelin to Ostian rule, Sain resigned his commission and moved to Illia. There he began to work with Florina as a mercenary. While her fear of men still remained, Sain came to be one of her most trusted friends in the years to come.

Unnecessary throwback, I just reread The Wind that Cuts the Night AGAIN (one of my faves) and I think about this every time i do, are there any authors or books in particular that influence your writing style? Because the vibes are impeccable in this fic and it’s something that makes me wonder about any inspiration you may have had <3

I have read literally thousands of books, and I think every single one of them - especially the ones I've loved - have all influenced my writing style a little. From non-fiction to fiction.

There's definitely no single writer I want to emulate, because I pretty much never find exactly what I want to read out there. It's more like I find moments, and then I think 'oh I want to make a reader feel the way this writer made me feel right now' but that doesn't necessarily mean I want to write in their style? Or if it does, it will still be influenced by all the other things that have influenced me in the past.

*thinks* I've read so many authors it's almost impossible to single out the ones I love the most re: writing style, but here's a few: Ursula K. Le Guin, dgalerab on AO3, Robin Hobb (though I feel like I've aged out of her writing now), CS Pacat, Suzanne Clarke, Bill Bryson, Robert Holdstock, Mark Z. Danielewski, Asumiko Nakamura, Andrea Gibson, Martha Wells (particularly re: Murderbot), Hinako Takanaga, Chuuya Nakahara, John Fowles, Orson Scott Card (for all that he's a bigot homophobic dickhead), Sarah Monette / Katherine Addison, Alan Ball, Mike Schur, Brian Jacques, Cecilia Dart-Thornton, Dan Harmon, Randall Jarrell, Thomas Harris, Yana Toboso, Ono Natsume, Kim Dare, Moto Hagio, Scott Heim, Gerald Durrell, Tanith Lee, George Mackay Brown, early Lyn Gala, early Sidney Bell, early Roan Parrish, Ann-Marie MacDonald, William Goldman, a bunch of classic authors and poets that we don't have time for, Tamora Pierce, Philip Pullman, and like...more fic authors I'm forgetting, lol.

(Also I am under no illusions that I am anywhere as good as any of these writers, they're just the ones whose styles really inspire me. Except I know I'm missing like 100 others and that's going to annoy me, lmao, I am okay with being mediocre, when I have this greatness to aspire to).

(For anyone who thinks my writing is good, all I can say is read broadly, widely, across genres, across mediums, it's the best way to improve what you do. Though I'm mad as fuck that the list doesn't have more POC in it. I need to read far more broadly).

but Ninian gets depressed again and says that she's been lying to him. Eliwood takes this remarkably well

8.5/10. obvious cliffhanger for the A support, but otherwise pretty good! a considerate protagonist is always nice to see

tl:dr they dueled, he won. he says it would have been disrespectful to hold back, says he's impressed at how strong she was, and asks what she's doing

character moments? in my comedy support? it's more likely than you think. there's usually a clear divide between serious/non-serious supports now so this was nice to see.

8.5/10. another funny one with some good character moments for both

what is there to say about kinship's bond, one of my favorite defend chapters in the series? it was absolute agony to do this chapter because while you don't HAVE to kill eubans, you absolutely want to because a. he drops a knight crest b. boss kill experience c. the chapter ends the second he dies d. the chapter turn requirement is the max amount of turns spent defending, so basically as long as you kill him before turn 10 enemy phase, you'll be saving at least one turn, if not multiple. the problem is that he's basically in the asshole of the chapter, being surrounded by forest squares and being in the very corner of the map whereas you start near nearly the opposite side. still, getting to him isn't hard if you overextend with marcus/any other non-isadora paladin you might have by this point and just haul ass with a javelin, hand axe, and iron axe equipped at various points. if anything, the hardest part is surviving with everyone up to that point.

LMAO JK did you think i was serious? the hardest part is the dicerolling for killing eubans because i cannot tell you how many times i got to the end only to see "sain is attacking eubans. he has a 70%-80% hit rate and he only has to hit once and is doubling. OOPS he missed both hits" or even better the classic "both hits missed on the enemy phase and now you can't kill him because the forest square he attacked you from is preventing a 1RKO LOL haha". i swear to god it's not even HHM or the ranked run that's making my blood fucking boil, it's the fucking probability always swinging against me in the most fucking improbable circumstances. i had like 2 80%s miss then a 30% to kill hit me. i just. i know it gets exhausting to see me complain about RNG in this game but holy fucking CUNT FUCK does it incense me. like i cannot overstate how mad it makes me because i'm literally not making any mistakes and still losing because of it. i'm trying so so so hard not to mald harder but whatever.

heath got a level and change and got good stats. the plan is to use the shit out of him next chapter by prepping him with a barrier and letting him go to town on as many of the magic units that he can. iirc he's not gonna be doubling but if i give him the short spear, he might be 1HKOing until he either can 1HKO with the javelin or double. isadora meanwhile did 2 things for me this chapter: she used a nearly broken iron sword to kill an annoying mage and then she hauled ass to the secret shop to buy a bunch of shit with the silver card (another physic, two torch staves, two barriers, and a 5 use chest key (i'm going to need this for BBD and NOF i imagine)). the best part about buying a bunch of shit with the silver card is that it doesn't cost any money due to how the game calculates funds, so even if i am overbuying, i'm just making my liquid gold solid.

last thing to note: we're in red alert territory because my collective lord levels are only at 46 right now and FFO is right around the corner. i need to average getting 2 level in living legend and genesis. i THINK this is fairly doable considering there's two berserker bosses next turn and i think i can at least get lyn to kill one of them, ideally eliwood would be able to tank out the other one. the biggest problem is living legend has a short turn count so i have to be quick, but i also need to make sure i'm hitting the experience benchmark. i'll burn turns if i HAVE to, but i want to avoid that at all costs. at the same time, i absolutely refuse to do lloyd's FFO, so the conflicting desires there are gonna come to a head soon.

when the world is one color (pynch, 2k). so this is the first of the many one shots i managed to write and post last year and i'm very happy with how it turned out! aka how to combat being cold with hugs (missing scene, post-trk, pre-epilogue)

but for their voices (pynch, 5k). this was very exciting to write bc it was fun to explore adam's thought process in this cdth-inspired au. aka adam is not unkowable if you stare at him long enough (different meeting au, college)

a persimmon (pynch, 1k). oh dear i struggled so hard to finish this little piece bc there were many different things i wanted to include, but i'm quite happy with the result! aka adam panics bc he's horny (missing scene during ch. 39 of trk)

the puppeteer (pynch, 3k). i made myself cry while writing this one. aka once upon a dream (sickfic, mi-adjacent)

yiling’s apples (mdzs, 2k). i've fallen hard for their story so i had to write something for it. aka why does everything important happen in yiling (pov outsider, gen)

heya it’s Riddle Anon/Anon Hearts here. And well I wanted to say thank you. It’s a bit out of nowhere, but ummm I’ve been having trouble with sleep for the last couple weeks and today I woke up like really bad. And I tried just looking through things so I could relax, and I ended up looking at your pizzeria story. And while there were times where I genuinely felt a bit like Lyn I really enjoyed it. I think I’ve been reading it for like an hour and a half now at the first part of Day 13 right now.

I know it’s kinda random and all, but ummm really thank you. It helped me relax a bit and took my mind off of my bad sleeping schedule. I remember even considering trying to imagine who’d I’d want to meet and maybe see what happen in an rp cause I tend to rp a lot with friends or just in my head. In all honesty though I’m rambling a bit but thank you. I know ummm this is out of the blue and it feels a bit kinda stupid and stuff but ummm I appreciate you taking the time to make your story and keep up with it. Even if it sometimes drains you motivation. I hope you can keep going with it. Even if I’m not caught up.

Heh… ummm I’m gonna go back to reading now I kinda feel way too embarrassed and nervous now. And sorry if this is here while you’re asleep I kinda woke up at my 3am and as I said before sleep has been a big issue for me recently… so going back to sleep was quite literally out of the question. Ummm I hope your day goes well and that everything is ok! And that you’re healing well from yesterday.

YO, Riddle Anon! I actually know the feeling. I went to bed a little after midnight and I still woke up at 4 a.m. Mostly because it's hard to sleep with the bruise right now but I've had some sleep issues as of late. I'm on central time so it's 6 a.m. right now, I was already awake. >:D (This is pretty long so for convenience, here's the read more).

Regardless, like-hearing that my story actually could help someone out, squeezes my heart with joy. I wish I could describe it but that's been my dream with writing every since I was little. I have so many stories and ideas roaming around in my head, I think they're great but executing them is the hard part so I never pushed myself to do it until Widfali.

And my biggest dream with writing was that my stories could help people as others fantasy stories growing up had helped me. SO, it's honestly one of the best compliments I can receive. I am so happy and grateful that Widfali could do that for anyone. You have no idea how absolutely sweet it is to read that. Also I'm worried for your sleep schedule. If possible you gotta get some good Z's, please!

AND THANK YOU for taking the time to read what I wrote! Anyone who does deserves all the thank you's as well, readers are my biggest motivation! Without any of you I don't know how well I would have continued.

Watched S3 He-Man

HOOOOOOOOOOO.

So much! So much to talk about! There’s positives... and some minor negatives. But minor ones! Because this season mainly was awesome!

So positives first!

1. THE FIGHT SCENES. RADICAL. AMAZING. GREAT.

2. The story was great! They managed to pace everything perfectly in eight episodes!

3. ALAN OPPENHEIMER AS GRAYSKULL!!!!! WALLACE SHAWN AS ORKO!!!!

4. They saved Krass! And I like how she was still struggling between her emotions and continuing to be a bad guy, it really makes the confrontations agonizing.

5. Ork-0 used real magic! I’m very glad we got to see him again and he got some character growth. It had a real good life lesson for kids.

6. Ooooooooooh, the Hiss monster designs were sooooo good. The Basilisk was a smidge underwhelming but it was still awesome.

7. Actually EVERYTHING had great monster designs. Those weird mecha-horse things, Skeletor’s god forms, etc. Great stuff.

8. MY BOY DUNCAN GOT HIS TIME TO SHINE!!! Actually everyone equally got their time to shine, I’m so thankful to the writers that they treated everyone so equally respectful. But Duncan did such a good job, I’m so proud of this kid!

9. I don’t know if people will dislike it, but... I actually like that Adam restored Keldor to his human self. And it wasn’t for ham-fisted reasons and it wasn’t like he was forcing himself to see Keldor as family, he simply stated “It’s the right thing to do” because Adam doesn’t have it in him to kill.

10. Stratos and gang came back for a bit! I do kind of wish they could have played a bigger part but that’s ok. It’s hard juggling that many characters.

11. BABY TEELA WAS SO STINKIN’ CUTE!!!

12. The gang has come together as a family again :’D

13. Ok even though I don’t like Smith’s MotU... that cameo was hilarious, fight me.

14. OHOHOHO, HORDAK! EVELYN IS HORDAK’S DAUGHTER! Does this mean we get a Season 4?? >:3

Now... I do have some negatives, but honestly again these are minor nitpicks in the grand scheme of things. So they don’t really matter.

1. I... really don’t like how the show kept fluctuating Evelyn/Evil-lyn’s morality and gave her this semi-redemption arc. It was dumb and ham-fisted in the other MotU show and it was really painful here. Like... I LOVE Evelyn/Evil-Lyn. She’s so delightfully narcissistic and under-handed, but making her do good things and be more prone to helping really takes the “Evil” out of Evil-Lyn. Especially because it made no sense.

2. George Takei as Mer-Man, bleh... He was ok as an actor but could they have picked someone less... controversial? You want an Asian actor to play Mer-Man? Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa is right there, guys. At least his character died. But I’ll admit the character design was pretty rad.

3. Some weird animation errors? During the scene where they’re trying to lure more Hiss monsters into Snake Mountain, there’s a scene where Kronis doesn’t have his jaw brace but suddenly in the next cut he does? I dunno, there were a couple of weird character-model inconsistencies between all the seasons but again, it’s not a big deal.

4. WHAT HAPPENED TO JUSTINE? D: Seriously, poor girl just disappears off the face of the earth. She had kind of a cute partnership/friendship with Tri-Clops, it seemed, but then all of a sudden she’s just- poof! Gone.

5. I’ll 100% admit that this is less of an overall criticism and more of a personal issue but... I don’t really like how Kronis and Evelyn’s partnership seemed to have such an abrupt change in dynamic. In the first season, they were equals and they seemed to tolerate each other smoothly, even mutually getting along (Like ”Your runt hit me with a transport!” “When we find him, how’s about we both hit him with one?” “Hmhmmm... I’d like that”. Or all the “dear Kronis” parts?). But then suddenly with S2, and even more so in S3, they made Evil-lyn the “leader” while Kronis/Trap-Jaw suddenly gets delegated to hulking, idiot henchman. I miss when the two of them were working together, they had a fun dynamic.

6. Oh gosh, speaking of which, Kronis just lost the charm of his character from S1. He turned into an idiot and a wimp, and he is just... drastically different from his S1 incarnation. Remember that this guy is supposed to be smart as hell? Remember how he took on Cringer with his bare hands (granted Cringer didn’t have claws but assuming Cringer weighs as much as the largest tiger breed, so like.. Amur tigers, which are 600 pounds? HE THREW 600 POUNDS OF MUSCLE)? You’d think instead of being screaming, fleeing bait for the Hiss minions he would have been more... I dunno, controlled and intelligent about it? Either way, RIP S1 Kronis. You were way more of an appealing sinister badass.

7. Ok... Why hire Kevin Smith as Tri-Clops? Did they just feel bad for him or something? Seems like a really weird choice considering how shitty he’s been to He-Man fans.

But honestly, like I said before, those nitpicks are so minor it doesn’t even matter. This season was amazing, I was initially sad to see it was only eight episodes long but they did such a fantastic job with the writing and pacing that it felt long enough. I love this show so much and I only hope it does get greenlit for S4.
