okay so i know absolutely nothing about code but im trying to get some adorable jonmartin shimeji made by @wifii! problem is, i am on macOS, but i have downloaded java and other shimeji zip files are working, but i cant get this one to work. I have tried troubleshooting with chatgpt to see if it can detect any issues in the code but i dont know what to do.

does anyone know how to get a shimeji jar file working on mac or has any coding experience to help me figure out how to do it?

posting this here bc my friends told me "hey just ask reddit! they'll respond" so I listened to them like an idiot. I got no answers. so I play mc java on Mac and said friends made a server for 1.18.2 (modded) and I just cant get it to load. even in single player vanilla mc. it'll load everything just fine, and then get to the bit where it says its loading terrain and then just... freeze indefinitely. spinning wheel of death and all. it only does this with 1.18.2 for some reason? any tips to fix it or am I just cooked?

3. Any time it says the computer doesn't allow for it, then go to privacy and security, then close the window, then when the file it says you can't run pops up press allow for being able to run it, repeat process until it says won't run, then restart computer

Again, this isn't actually a virus, lol. The most they can do is throw your screens around and windows users can disable that (Not sure about Mac, but I think they can't. RIP)

Not to show my Tumblr fandom age and level of cringe but I’ve been thinking about Pacific Rim recently (or really just my ship (Maco x Raleigh) and drift compatibility as a concept) and since everything always circles back to Gilmore Girls for me on this blog it got me wondering who is and isn’t drift compatible and what that means.

Like, drift compatibility isn’t about romantic compatibility or that kind of soulmatism, it’s about having someone who you klick with on such a fundamental level that you could pilot a giant mecha together. Raleigh copilots with his brother before he meets Mako. One robot is run by a father-son duo. One is run by more than two. It’s not about romance but strong, personal and stable bonds between two or more people.

So with that clarified I think Rory and Jess are 100% drift compatible and that Rory isn’t drift compatible with any of her other boyfriends. Not because of shipping but because Jess is explicitly written to have an instant understanding with Rory and connection of the mind. That being said Rory and Lorelai are also drift compatible, but not Lorelai and Luke (again, not shipping related I love java junkie I just don’t think they could pilot a jaeger together). Emily and Richard are drift compatible and while Emily sorely wishes to be compatible with her daughter and/or granddaughter but she just isn’t. Lorelai, Sookie and Michel are drift compatible, both just the women and as a trio. I actually think Paris could’ve been drift compatible with Tristan at some point (though I really don’t ship them) and when she meets Doyle they are so drift compatible it’s funny. Also she might be drift compatible with her nanny. Madeleine and Louise are a lock for drift compatibility. Miss Patty and Babette are probably drift compatible too. All of Hep Alien could possibly run a suit together but after Dave leaves and tensions rise between Zack Brian and Gil Zack would break compatibility with and for everyone (that band is a unit and can only pilot a jaeger as a unit). Taylor Doose is convinced he can pilot a whole mecha by himself (he cannot).

Steam runs on Linux natively - that's why the steam deck works. Same with Blender and Minecraft(Java). Minecraft Bedrock isn't officially supported but there is an unofficial launcher that runs the android version.

Photoshop isn't available, but photopea exists and iv heard good things. It's free, of course. Also, GIMP has you covered for 80% of edits. And if you do mostly vectors, Inkscape is great.

I hadn't heard of clip studio paint before this, but google says you should try Krita. It's available on every os too so no need to commit before trying it out.

Picking a linux distribution: i recommend Ubuntu. It's the most popular/common and has the most software available (arch and nix users, pretend you didn't hear that). Also the interface doesn't try to look like windows or macos, which puts your brain in learning mode.

While the map may be impressive, yourself parkouring around in circles. Which at one point the world will start to feel empty.

Enemy designs are cool, however same enemy, same area.

Four unique bosses and encounters. However…..

Combat is very repetitive. 

Glowing seeds to collect all over the map.

My Experience:

Before the acclaimed Assassin’s Creed franchise was born, Ubisoft's greatest parkour master game was the Prince of Persia. An epic tale of a warrior prince and unique rewinding time ability that was always fun to do. But to create something new, Ubisoft made a total 180 on this game, no longer would the Prince be ... .uhm a Prince. But he would be a (I guess) traveling thief who has lost his donkey………one word: AWESOME! 

This new Prince is now my favorite, THAT”S NOTHING MORE TO SAY!!

Okay Okay I’m kidding! 

Prince of Persia is a game where you are immediately sucked into its plot. Helping a young woman named Elika to stop the curse that has left her kingdom ruined and her people dead. While you are playing as the “hero” of this game, The Prince behaves more like an anti-hero than anything else, cocky, a bit arrogant and flirtatious when given the chance. This is what makes this game worth it. The interaction between Prince and Elika is so much fun, there’s a button where you can have them speak to one another at any given time. Elika will fight alongside Prince, so if you parry or activate any special move, Elika will provide a hand. But here’s the issue of this game, Elika will always prevent Prince’s death. From falling off the platforms or enemies about to deliver the final blow. 

Safely put this game has no game over!  

As amazing as this sounds, it kinda takes away from the difficulty of this game, if there really is one. You see, while playing Prince of Persia, the game does feature four interesting bosses. These bosses have some unique story backgrounds, they all were in charge of different parts of the map which gives them a cool intake of who they were. But while the part of the world is challenging and enemies themselves are unique. It will be the same boss battle hack and slash encounter over and over again. 

The maps themselves also feature some challenging paths that are unlocked through story progression. It adds more to the parkour challenge and they are a challenge. One mistake and you would have to start all over again.   

As much as I can nitpick a person’s upper strength to climb and jump all the obstacles in this game. This is (like I said) not the most typical Prince of Persia game, but I enjoyed it so much. Simple to play on keyboard, beautiful graphics and character interactions that make up for the amount of ideas this could have had. This is an adventure that your two dollars investment will be proud to spend! 

OH! It has been 15 years and he still hasn’t found his donkey…
