I’ve been following lackadaisy for so long it feels like an actual dream to see it out and animated… I was wondering 1. How long have you been animating and 2. Have you ever worked with any other indie animators? Or maybe in a more mainstream studio if not that?

Long enough that my first cartoons were toys and clay figures recorded on VHS tapes. Long enough that Maya had no edge loop tool. Long enough that I remember when Adobe Animate was Macromedia Flash and actually functioned and didn't crash.

I've done industry work, I've done indie work. Pretty much any commission I did for folks qualifies as "indie". And I've worked on indie group projects. A few MAPS/Reanimates. I hosted the All Dogs Reanimate. I contributed to the Hazbin Hotel pilot and Farfetched. I've done multiple Game Grumps animateds. I've done animations for Lindsay Ellis and Extra Credits and more. That was all inbetween studio jobs on various shows on TV and streaming services. I've juggled a lot. Some stuff you've seen, some is so obscure and bad I'm glad nobody remembers it. It's all been a lot of experiences that inform my approach in Lackadaisy's production.

Anyways, this is a Filipino-American show created by Ramon Lopez and Jesse Hernandez, which ran from April 25, 2007 to May 31, 2011. It had 2 seasons of 16 episodes and aired on Myx.

The show is about two cousins named Philip "Phil" Matibag and Jackson "Jack" Colero, who used to live in completely different areas, San Francisco and the Philippines, but are forced to live with their ever unhinged uncle Richard "Tito Dick" Cabeza.

The show had been in development since late 2005, the first three episodes were completed in 2006, while the rest of the first season was completed in 2007. Season 2 was produced between 2007 and 2008, but never saw the light of day until 2011. It was animated on Macromedia Flash on a Windows XP model.

Although the show was aimed at being the first targeted towards Filipino-Americans, it was widely hated, due to the lazy writing, every character being offensive stereotypes, awful animation and humor that is just tasteless and disgusting. The concept does seems interesting, but it’s wasted on such terrible execution. No wonder it got a 2.2/10 on IMDB. Although it has an ironic cult status thanks to the memes. It’s so bad that it’s actually interesting really, seeing these characters being mean to each other with such an edgy tone, not something you see in Family Guy actually.

Season 2 is a slight improvement because it has more interesting plots and slightly better animation, but it’s not saying much.

Plus, the storyboards do look better and more expressive than the final product because why would they be? They’re drawn by a pencil rather than having a computer do it.

I don’t recommend watching it, maybe once if you’re curious but there isn’t anything redeemable about it aside from some aspects. The theme song maybe a legend in meme culture, but this show deserves to be forgotten otherwise.

hi!! noticed that you switched accounts here, i havent been online on this site for a bit so i didnt realize that you had replied to me back months ago T-T mb, anyways i actually did find macromedia flash 8 (that i think is the safest on the net currently? could be wrong) but its on The Internet Archive :3 i checked it as much as i could and i think its alright? i actually found it after 2 days from asking you on your previous blog. also how are you? and forgot to mention last time that i love your usernames haha! also hope that the trojan that the version you had didnt actually do anything D: stay safe!! and if you want the version i found i can always send it here ( i actually dont really know how tumblr works) and if you feel like it you can also check it over!

yknow i never noticed anything, about that trojan ??? altho...the cmd did appear three times in a row during start up (only to disappear immediately after) for a few years...until i changed computers and stopped downloading cracked stuff. yeah. could also be bcuz my former laptop was around 10 years old and overheating cuz the fans finally gave up

hey!!! im back mb on tumblr and i noticed that u replied like months ago to my ask.. so anyways! u said that it has a trojan? if its only like 1 positive in a list of like a bunch of anti viruses it could be a false positive due to old programs being weird, however i did find the safest version macromedia flash8, its on the internet archive and i found it after 2 days after leaving an ask on your page. Also, how are you doing? also forgot to mention last time, i love your user! brings back memories :3 (the flash version on internet archive is i think the safest out there? if you want the link i can send it however im not very sure myself if its safe but my pc seems to be alright, ive ran it through a lot of anti virsues and such)

There's this tweet going around twitter that I simply couldn't not answer (officially in that 30-smth demography, :___D) and my best answer could have been

I used to watch a LOT of TV.

I used to play a few computer games (ranging from Activity center-like edutainment games, to stuff like Lode Runner -one of the few games we had in my very first PC which experience wasn't ruined for the lack of sound, lmao) and Age of Empires II -especially that one 2001 Spring/early-Summer when we didn't have cable TV- I DREAMED with the music of this game. All of this at my best knowledge because English wasn't my forte when I was a kid.

Videogames to a certain degree because all I had was either Pokémon Gold on my GBC or playing DKC2 (or Aladdin) on my SNES. Kinda played with emulators (my first kinda? emulation experience on my own was one of those Sega's bundle ports for Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Shining Force for PC, too :') )

Use the internet for a hour or something to play Macromedia/Adobe Flash games on old kids' websites and also browse the many fansites of stuff I used to like when I was a kid.

I could have added "waste my time rambling on message boards... but I think, TECHNICALLY it might count as social media... not as much as, you know, Twitter or Tumblr these days.. but I still connected to people in some way or other.
