Birth induction! As a practitioner that honors natural birth and it's own natural timing I disagree with induction for the sake of convenience or because of fears of 'big babies'. I understand that often we get really excited to meet baby and want to hurry things along or we are too physically uncomfortable or there is other health complications and people want a safe, effective, non medical and non invasive way to help things facilitate. Babies will come when they are ready, but just as you or I may resist taking a big step in life because of fear, that is often the case for babies too. Often they just need some help getting ready for the biggest leap of their life. This is where BodyTalk is amazing! ❤️I can never get a phone call when one of the babies has my phone. But it may be starting to get out of hand. How much do you let your kids watch tv ? 6 Months of our Curious Baby 🐵⁣ ⁣ It’s someone’s half birthday, today! ⁣ Baby G is 28.5 “ long and 19 lb 2 oz!! ⁣ 🥳6 months of breastfeeding, but he is a foodie and insists on at least 2 meals a day! ⁣ 🥳He sleeps all night in his crib but still gets at least one nap with mommy in a day (I can’t help it; I love the cuddles!) ⁣ 🥳 He is *this* close to crawling and he still wobbles when sitting, but that’s ok! ⁣ 🥳 He loves talking to himself in the mirror. He also loves petting his three dogs and playing with mommy ALL DAY (seriously - white on rice this one is)⁣ 🥳 Most of all he is LOVED by his mama and papa. One of my happy days with my little munchkin when he was five months old. I love being a mom. When I became one, it gave me the happiness that never felt so real like I’ve found my purpose. L’apprendre. Encaisser. Prendre une décision.

J’ai appris que j’étais enceinte le 30 août 2018. Et contrairement à ce à quoi je m’attendais quand je m’imaginais être enceinte un jour, je n’ai pas sauté de joie. Je prenais la pilule depuis plus de quatre ans et je ne me souviens pas l’avoir oubliée. Je suis toujours étudiante. Je ne suis pas en couple avec la personne concernée. On a une relation depuis des mois, mais nous ne sommes pas un couple. Fusionnelle, oui. Amoureuse, non. Je lui ai dit deux jours plus tard alors que je n’avais pas encore encaissé moi-même. J’étais désemparée et désespérée, lui était calme. On a discuté de “la suite”. L’IVG semblait être la chose la plus raisonnable à faire. Étudiants, finances d’étudiants, même pas en couple, jeunes, lui plus jeune que moi, et par dessus le marché, il n’a jamais voulu et n’aime pas les enfants. Mais il sera là, me soutiendra, me tiendra la main, “on est là-dedans ensemble”.

Il a été là-dedans avec moi jusqu’à ce que je lui dise que je n’arrivais pas à me résoudre à faire une IVG, en ayant d’ailleurs déjà fait une cinq ans plus tôt. Il m’a d’abord dit qu’il serait là malgré tout, qu’il n’était pas un lâche et qu’il tenait à moi, qu’il ne voulait pas que je sois seule pour ça. Puis la panique, la peur, l’égoïsme, la réalisation de ce que ça représente, peut-être ces quatre choses là, ont fait qu’il est finalement parti. Plus de son, plus d’image.

J’ai réussi à me convaincre que ce bébé n’était pas une fatalité et que j’allais m’en sortir. J’allais continuer mes études, moi qui n’étais pas loin d’abandonner avant la nouvelle, j’ai décidé que j’allais m’accrocher et y arriver, pour mon bébé. J’ai annoncé la nouvelle progressivement aux membres de ma famille. Entre soutien et incompréhension, parfois un peu de déception, j’ai fini par avoir le soutien de toute ma famille.

Le 31 décembre 2018, j’ai appris à l’échographie du deuxième trimestre que c’était une petite fille. Choisir son prénom a été un périple, moi qui avais voulu un garçon de toute mon âme, j’ai du faire le deuil du petit garçon que j’avais imaginé et dont le prénom était déjà une évidence. J’ai annoncé le prénom que j’avais fini par choisi à la mi-février. Ce sera Bébé M.
