How does Eris feel about cassian?

pre-acosf i think eris disdained him in the same way you might a small splinter in the side of your thumb. the majority of the time you don't even realize it's there — but then sometimes it catches on a thread or you rub against it the wrong way, and the pain is fleeting but sharp and unexpected, and no matter how you hold it to the light, no matter how you try to get it out, no matter that you think it finally gone, it stays stuck in there. maybe even gets shoved in deeper. it's similar to how eris feels about rhysand or azriel antagonizing him about the morrigan incident, except i think with cassian there's the added — you're the one who fucked her; your actions are what got her butchered at all. how can you revile me when your role in this is far worse? how is it my fault you didn't have the foresight to know how the game would be played, and i have no recourse but to play it? but cassian not knowing how to play the political game doesn't really affect eris yet, so that manifests more as just a general lack of respect / discounting any opinion cassian has as uninformed. plus of all the inner circle, i think cassian has the most moral righteousness. his shame is tied to his being a bastard, not really to any actions he has taken himself, so he doesn't know the shame of being Bad like azriel and rhysand do. this makes his interactions with eris, who doesn't really attribute morality to things / doesn't have the luxury of holding morality in high regard, even more unpleasant to deal with. plus plus general illyrian / lesser fae prejudice.

post-acosf... i'm sure sjm is going to make him seek nc validation and absolution as part of his character / redemption arc, but eye think eris wants to burn cassian specifically to an absolute crisp. throughout acosf, eris is constantly insulted and antagonized; has crucial information about the trove withheld from him by his chosen allies, while he is offering information they could not get elsewhere; is publicly made a fool of by his allies when they dangle nesta in front of him despite the open secret of her being cassian's mate; has his guards (who he got captured by because he cared so much for them that he refused to raise a hand against them when he easily could have killed them BTW) slaughtered and then tortured by said allies; gets captured and has his bodily autonomy stripped from him just to bait the night court; and then cassian has the audacity to call eris a coward after he endures his father's torture to preserve night court interests and alliances. like holy shit, u kno? and if i missed anything it would only further my point. eris overextends himself on behalf of the night court throughout that entire book and sees literally nothing in return. not even any real change in their opinion of him. just a scrap of cassian thinking he might be a good person, then insulting him for ... some reason? again, that constant air of moral superiority from cassian that eris cannot stand, weaponized at what is maybe the worst time to do so — when eris has just had the longstanding vulnerability of his abuse exposed in his efforts to protect those who only show him ingratitude and resentment. sooo yeah, i think eris would happily see cassian reduced to a pile of ashes, especially since he was the talking piece for the nc throughout acosf.

Ok, Ok, I think I need to lay down. Yes, SandRay floored us today. Yes, Khaotung wanted to personally kill me with his acting and First with his huge eyes filled with tears. Yes, whatever the fuck TopMew had going on this episode had me pull my hair in frustration in a good way, because Mew is a hilariously horrible person and Boeing is unhinged. BUT. Listen. BostonNick stole the episode for me. That scene. That fucking scene. Everything that happened before that scene was the perfect set up. Atom setting Boston up. Cheum and co going to his house to shame him and denounce him as their friend. Nick and Dan. Their encounter at Nick's shop. It was all delicious and perfectly executed but it could never prepare me for this. We see Boston looking sad at the distance and Nick coming to him to talk (after he saw Boston's feelings about him through the fucking phone wallpaper pls, I'm not OK). He asks him and Boston is defensive but then Nick insists and Boston, in his need to have someone comfort him FINALLY, says what happened. At first Nick responds by telling him how things are; seems legit, he says, given what you've done. Boston tells him to cut it off but not in his usual way, he's not cruel or rude, he's simply asking to not be shit on rn. Nick listens and apologizes and he means it and I love it.

But Boston feels weird and cannot understand wtf is wrong with him and it's real and I love that he trusted Nick to ask him about it. And Nick's answer is perfect for Boston, because sure, for us, the audience it seems so obvious; of course Boston is doing fucked up shit in his desperation to be loved and accepted, but Boston doesn't know that. No one TOLD him that, no one SHOWED him that.

Boston's answer to that is even better, because he still doesn't understand. And he needs a more valid reason than that.

Nick's answer? Oh, my beautiful nasty little boy. He was so real for it. He needed to gather himself to say it. He needed time to utter those words. "I also did nasty shit to you, Boston" he tells him. "Maybe we belong together" What Boston said next was breathtaking. I love him for that.

He might as well have said "I love you" here. It has the same weight as that phrase. That's why Nick breaks down. That's why he kisses him like that, crying uncontrollably and telling him he missed him too. Because we already knew about Nick's feelings towards Boston. We knew the guy had an obsession turned love towards him. But with Boston it's different. And Nick thought so too before this phrase was uttered, before Boston basically confessed he has feelings for Nick, or more precisely, that Nick is special to Boston. And he proceeds to say it AGAIN, after Nick says it. He says AGAIN how he missed him and he THANKS him for staying by his side with TEARS in his own eyes. They hug while crying together, please, I'm too weak for this. And then they make LOVE. They don't just fuck, they make sweet love to each other while staring at each other's eyes and kissing and being cute and I fucking DIED right there. BostonNick is all I ever wanted and more. I need MORE, please, I can't handle myself. This episode was SO GOOD, I can't DEAL with this.

Celestial Pleasures: Miscellaneous Thoughts on PheeJin's NC Scenes

So I keep seeing gifs of PheeJin's NC scenes and apologies to whoever really enjoyed it, because every time I run across it, it just makes me laugh.

That Bulldog Astronaut saw several moons that night, but I'm not sure they were ever the exact moons that he wanted to discover.

Imagine being Jin's parents and you're coming back from a long day at work or maybe you finally were able to go on a date night and you see your son's room light on. So maybe you go around to his bedroom window and you're just met with the sight of your own son sprawled out being absolutely railed.

Or if they were home, Jin and Phee were not quiet at all. Those ass slaps were heard all around the world. Even if they were on the first floor they must have heard the first, the second, the third- I fully imagine his parents sitting at their couch, just looking at each other like this:

Quick random thoughts about My Stand-in episode 8:

I can't write something better with pictures as I always do today. It will just be a quick post about the episode, but here are my thoughts about it:

▪️ I can't believe Wut and Sol found out about Joe before Ming. They really accepted well this idea of Joe's soul being in Joe 2.0's body.

▪️Ming is facing such a mental crisis trying to admit the truth but also not believing it at the same time. I wonder what the final news will do to him.

▪️ Poor Joe who has to feel like he is stuck in a loop wondering when he will finally get to live happily.

▪️ We saw Tong for a really short time but he really was insufferable. You can really see how annoyed he is with Joe being close to Ming.

▪️ Is Mike really Ming's brother or are they just close acquaintances? Sometimes they translate "Phi" as a brother and it gets confusing. Especially when your level of Thai is bad as it is for me.

▪️ I wish something was happening between Secretary Jim and Mike.

▪️ I really like how Joe feels close to Joe 2.0's mom. He really misses having a family. You can see how important it is for him. Sol and Wut may not understand it well, but it was a touching moment when Joe explained it to them.

▪️ I now want to write something about the time loop and second chance in life after this episode.

▪️ I wish Joe 2.0 had the chance to talk to Joe 1.0. I wonder what they would say to each other. 🤔

This episode was really interesting. Now that the truth is out with all the main characters and with the final discovery... What will happen to everyone?

Robin had disappeared; for suddenly, amidst the throng, his eyes had encountered those strange grey-blue ones of Mistress Fitzwalter.

She was sitting alone in a little box near by the targets. Robin had walked down the lists to see for himself that his shaft had split the Norman's fairly, and in turning away to find Stuteley he had become aware of her shrewd, piercing gaze. She allowed her eyes to rest fully on young Fitzooth's ardent glance for the briefest moment. Then she looked away unconcernedly.

But Robin, venturing all, drew nigh. He came to the edge of her box, and began to speak. He had gone so far as "Give you good morrow, lady," when his eyes perceived the Sheriff's little golden arrow fastening her cloak. His mouth became dry at that and his words went back in his throat.

The girl, aware of his confusion, brought her gaze back upon him. She smiled.

"Is it indeed my young champion?" asked she, rather doubtfully at first, in her low, soft tones. "Is it you who have beaten the Prince's best archer, Robin o' th' Hood?"

Her eyes were wells of innocent fun. The way in which she lingered over the last syllables brought Robin still deeper into the deep waters.

"It is your servant, madame," was all that he could find to say.

"You see then that I wear your gift, Robin," she said, trying to make him at ease. "I have not forgotten—"

"Nor I—I shall never forget," cried he, impulsively. "Your eyes are always in my memory: they are beautiful as stars," said he, fervently.

"Oh, a gallant Locksley! But there, take my colors, since you will be my knight." She untied a ribbon from her hair, and gave it into his outstretched palm. "And now, farewell; take the Prince's prize, and spend the pennies worthily. Buy your sweetheart some ribbons, but keep that which I have given you."

She tossed her curls again, as she added the last word. Robin was beginning a vehement protestation that he had no sweetheart, when Stuteley's voice broke in upon him.
