Kamukura with emotions doesn't make him weaker than before, just because he's in relationship with Makoto doesn't mean he's gone completely *soft*. He's only gone soft in just one angle, the rest is still pretty much still the same except now he perfers to rest his head on Makoto's lap than anything else that was already available for him to simply just lean his head against.

The first thing he feels when being around makoto isn't *love*, it's simply the same feeling he always felt which is *boredom*. And the second that came along wasn't the first thing mentioned, it's *interest* (from the form of the prespective of boring normalcy that differs his own) that slowly by time turned into *obsession* (realizing this whole thing is much better than when being stuck in the tight room in his lab) and by then began to be sticking around the guy instead of the other way around and it'll be a surprise to Makoto one day and to Makoto that will only be taken as an invitation to be closer. A progress.

All in all *love* will be the LAST THING appeared even AFTER they were in a relationship because it is something that Kamukura HAS to come in terms or accept himself, or realising too late to stop it cause he only accept to be "in a relationship" (with the entitlement of 'lovers' or 'partners' and everything) with Makoto simply in a way so Makoto can stay close to him (knowing the guy's unyielding loyalty and used that to his gain), because Makoto continues to make himself intriguing to Kamukura in his own boring, simple ways because Kamukura has grow to hate and berated normalcy of the untalented by his teachers and developed it through there. Plus he never gets to experience or learn a lot more of it other than the lab staffs' explanation of how "boring" it is and it's seem to also be the reason *he* became Kamukura in the first place as well.

(So the beggining of their relationship itself, the "love" part was one-sided. Kinda. In a way)

Sure it *is* boring. The whole "normal lifestyle" thing is sure sucked away his life source (if he even had one) and it's already just as he expected even when he lets Makoto around for at least a few days, he only let the guy around cause his luck is unexpected at most times but then of COURSE Makoto would use those times to shimmy his way into Kamukura's life. Shortly yet slowly. A very strange pace it is but it worked well with both of them.

His sickening optimistic, motivating nature to upbring Kamukura's gloomy, unmotivated one to pull him in the most boring of activities eventhough he had stated either directly or indirectly that those are, obviously, *boring*.

But Makoto's other traits that has first caught him just *slightly* off guard (which is. Rare and almost to never) was his undeterred determination to prove someone wrong (either in a morality sense in what was naively generally right). Perhaps he has been too assuming of Makoto's commonly pushover antics, or maybe Makoto's usual everyday and everytime genuine optimism has put his guard down just a bit that it made him passed by the fact that Makoto- no matter how positive and hopeful- *can* get mad or bothered if being triggered in certain ways. Certain ways as in if it involves someone else or views of things morally in a negative sense (the reaction made Makoto look more.. real. Something along that line).

Im also thinking how at some point, that *stubborn* determination that *always* butts in whenever Kamukura try to state or refuse. To try and always attempting to change his mind and at some point it led to another breaking point leading to the next change and that would be Kamukura- in his still usual bored tone yet out of character dialogue, said, in *annoyance*; "can you shut up." And doesn't THAT caught them BOTH off guard.

Silence followed when both were lost in their own thoughts in trying to process it before Makoto snapped out of it first to apologise for crossing the line and in promise to not do it again. Which, Kamukura is fine with but at the same time- "no" he would say, "keep talking". Cause sure, Kamukura has a fair share of being annoyed sometimes, but THIS is different, because just *how* can he be so easily annoyed over something so... *simple* as Makoto to be able to *blurted out* the moment of thought? It's something worth to explore more. To *experience*. Because it's new and when it's new, it's usually *interesting and unexpected* to someone like Kamukura.

And sometimes it's not just usually some new emotion just popped up at certain times, it's also the fact how constant it is of how the emotions he had experienced off kept *shifting*. He'd be bored then suddenly feeling intrigued in something then suddenly be slightly fluttery-ish? ('Amused' he noted) or suddenly feeling heavy in his chest ('sadness' he thought), heck, even the feeling of something clawing his insides when Makoto almost get a brick crushed his own head ('fear' he whispered to himself) then suddenly sometimes shifts back to being bored, then intrigued, then over and over in an out of order cycle. It either shift back to the same things or it develops something new.

It was never just one thing everyday just like how things are before meeting Makoto- like continuously be bored of everything and that's what makes things both overwhelming and underwhelming at the same time.

I also think that another thing that pulls Kamukura to Makoto is that just from Makoto, wanting to hang out and stick to him, to befriended him, with the payment only be *spending some time with Kamukura* and not to use him for his talents and abilities alone. Is one thing Kamukura unmanaged to just *understand* or fully grasp. In the end though he resolved by thinking that perhaps this is just a Makoto thing. That Makoto is being too good or cared too much of others in a way. But it does put Kamukura in a good "hm..." moment though.

I have a funny imagery that Kamukura just seem to be more often being put *slightly* off guard more by Makoto (wether intentionally or unintentionally which is usually the latter) than anyone else does. To which he be more on guard than he is before and to not jump to the most obvious conclusions or assumptions on some people because, of course, the Makoto situation and all. To which also means it made him statistically *more* dangerous than before (congrats Makoto! You made him more cautious or more thoughts in than usual of what was around him!).

His obsession in wanting to keep Makoto close to him by time will become apart of his own conciousness that *I* believe to be the case. Because after everything?? Everything that happened for the last few months?? Wether before or after being together (though I believe the moment they are together is the moment where the feeling became more hecticly stronger)?? It would only be obvious that he would, for once, *accidentally* (cause really, since when does being with Makoto Naegi means anything gone as planned?) Putting the obsession from wanting Naegi close because he is the first and often only source of interest for Kamukura's own bargained to wanting Makoto close because suddenly he was in too deep in the pit he had been *still* continuously dig himself in and finding that he doesn't *like* it when Makoto was out of reach.

(Going from trying to keep the guy around for selfish reasons by means to keep himself out of his usual bored state [cause let's face it, Kamukura isn't a good person, nor a bad one either, heck doesn't even attempted in search to at least *try* to quench his boredom just because he lacks any sort of motivation. But if the interesting thing were to suddenly presented dangling just in sight he WILL grab onto it tightly.], to obsessively trying to not get the guy lost out of his reach figuratively or metaphorically sense cause he *knows* that he will never *feels* something like this again, to feeling just *right* to have Makoto close to him and not letting go just because he doesn't *like* it)

I doubt Kamukura even realised the moment he had been *attached* to Makoto, simply because he had never experience emotions in the first place other than just knowing the basic theories to diagnose others in. And when he did, it's too late by then (it won't be him unable to escape Makoto. No, no, on the contrary, Makoto will be unable to escape *him*).

So anyways. Love isn't the priority to Kamukura since the very beggining in the start of their relationship, because the other foreign subjects that is emotions (twinging sadness, light amusement, flickering annoyance, poisonous jealousy, and dare he not admit the clawing fear) *are* the foundations that build his own *version* of what was the concept of 'Love' is.

Love is different to everyone afterall, so far what Kamukura has learned and see, if there was anything the same about all of it is that; love is a form of passion, and the connection of the bonds, it can be different from others, but Kamukura *doesn't* feel anything a lot WITH anyone else in general more than he is with Makoto. So essentially to him, it was different. It's not love that was viewed *generally* but it was his own version nonetheless.

This is just *my* insight of how I see Kamuegi *in* Kamukura's prespective. Cause he is my favorite character to write. You can do so many things to him in certain situations no matter how impossible it seem to try and not break his character. But that's the thing. You NEED to break certain characters, but as long as you didn't break the fundamental core of their characters then trust me, it's more of a scratch or a rather small crack on a ceramic vase than it looking all smashed up.

Sometimes you GOTTA make a scratch or heck, added something on it, without it losing it's shape or material as a ceramic vase, in order to make it slightly more jazzam get it? Or to make it work for the theme of the room you placed it in. (Not me using the vase metaphor for all of this)

Makoto and Byakuya had been playing games for a little bit. He was showing some game Makoto said to be, a first person shooter. Byakuya of course, wasn't very good at this type stuff. He never really played video before. After he died again he growled angrily and got up. "I'm going to my room." He grumbled getting mad at the game. Makoto watched him leave then made some hot chocolate.

"I hope he's ok." Makoto sighed. He was horribly bored, now that his lover left. "I wonder if Byakuya left to do something important." Mkoto mumbled to himself and got up. He walked towards Byakuyas room and knocked. "Hey Byakuya." Makoto said hoping the rich boy would hear him and answer him. But, as lucky as the ultimate luck can get, he wasn't very lucky at the moment. Did he do something to anger him? Makoto tried the doorknob hoping that maybe it'll be unlocked. It was a low probability, but not impossible. To his surprise the door creaked open. The lights were pretty bright in the room. It was obvious Byakuya had just changed the lightbulb. Byakuya looked up from his book at the smaller boy, then went back to reading. "D-did I do something wrong?" The lucky boy asked.

"No Makoto. You didn't do anything wrong. I don't usually play games so it was pretty hard to play." Byakuya scooted over so his lover could sit next to him. Makoto, getting the hint sits next to the blond boy.

"Can we cuddle?" Makotos face was red and so was Togamis but he simply gave a

"no."

"Why not?" Makoto asks. Byakuya didn't answer or look his way. Makoto sighed, wondering what to do. As Byakuya stretched his shirt went up a little. Makoto noticed and got an idea. "This is your last chance. Cuddle with me or else." Byakuya didn't even bat an eye. "Seriously? Alright then. I guess you leave me no choice." Togami didn't even look up to see Makoto making his way over to his abdomen and legs. Before Togami knew it he felt the tickly sensation on kisses on his belly. He made a little snrk sound as he squirmed a little. "All you gotta do is put down the book and cuddle with me!" Makoto said in the cutest tone ever. Byakuya was barely cracking a smile. He seemed to be good at holding it but not good enough for Makotos soft feather like hands. While peppering kisses on togamis belly, he started lightly tracing shapes and stuff on sides. Togami melted into a pool, no, a waterfall of giggles. "Aww. Aren't you a cutie!" Togami hid his face in his book but he knew he'd lose if he put his arms down and he was stubborn enough to not.

"Makohohotoho! Nohoho!" He giggled like a mad man as Makoto started scribbling at his sides and ribs. "Heyeheheheeh! Stahahap!" Togami struggled even harder but Makoto actually dug into his sides, he went nuts. "MAKOHOHOTO NOOOOOHOHOOO."

"Its not my fault you're so ticklish and cute!" Makoto coos at the squirming boy under him. Makoto, now going way faster to pepper kisses all around his belly hadn't realized that his hair and the tip of the ahoge was grazing against Byakuyas soft belly.

"MAKOHOHOHOTO YOUR HAHAHAIR!!" Byakuya practically screeched.

"Huh? What about it?" Makoto asks not knowing about it.

"ITS TIHICKLIHING MEEEEHEHE!" Makoto was still attacking his sides.

"It was? Good to now? Now I can do it on purpose! You're the best Byakuya! You're so smart, you deserve a reward!" Makoto leans back down and blows a raspberry making Togami and tears of mirth slid down his face. Byakuya thrashed and begged for Makoto to stop but he didn't.

"PLEAHEHEHESE IM DYIHIHING!!"

"Oh? You are? Well you are a sleeping beauty. Perhaps I should heal you with some kisses." Makoto proceeds to pepper with kisses and blowing raspberry every few seconds when Byakuya didn't expect it. "Awww. Is the big and tough Byakuya sensitive? I never guessed you of all people would be sooooo sensitive. Especially with such a ticklish belly." Makoto teased in a silly tone. "You got yourself into this predicament and only you can get yourself out of it. Just lower the book and cuddle me." Makoto giggled along with Byakuyas laugh. "Hmm..." Makoto dug into his belly while also peppering kisses all over his belly.

"NOOHOOHOHOHOHO!!" Byakuya laughed uncontrollably and brought his hands down accidentally smacking Makoto in the face with the book.

"Ow!" Makoto exclaimed rubbing his head pouting.

"Dont... D-dont be like that." Byakuya said between breaths. Makoto whined at being hit on the head so Byakuya pulled him into a hug and wiggled his fingers in his underarms.

"OK OHOHOK IM SOHOHORRYHYHYYYY!!" Makoto thrashed. Byakuya stopped and kissed him on the forehead.

"Dummy." Byakuya said softly with a wide smile planted on his face and tears stained his face. Makoto buried his head in Togamis chest. He would giggle and squirm a little whenever the blond poked his sides or ran a finger down them. No one outside the room dared to see what happened or what was happening. All that mattered is that Makoto finally got his cuddles that he wanted.

“Y/N~ Where aaaaaare youuuu?” Oh god. Oh no. He was here. You were currently on the second floor of the school, cowering in one of the cabinets in classroom 1B. Your breath was out of control, unstable and violent as you tried to make the tears stop. You don’t know what happened. Everything was alright, you and Monokuma were in bed, just relaxing. But then, Monokuma had started to shift rather fiercely, telling you that the position was uncomfortable. When you had tried to help he just got angrier and told you to back off. But when you did, he got even angrier. Why the hell did you let go of him for?! How dare you! He obviously wanted you to change the position, not to let him go! He’d show you how it felt to be held like nothing but a piece of fabric.

And now here you were, hiding away in a cabinet while he roamed the halls, looking for you. You knew he was near and you had to control your breathing. Unless you wanted him to find you, and you sure as hell didn’t want that. You tried doing the breathing exercises that Taka had shared with you once, but that failed as the thought of Taka only made you cry harder. “No. Come on Y/N. God damn it, snap out of it!” You whispered to yourself. In through the nose, out through the mouth. Make sure to form your mouth in the shape of an “O” so that the air leaves slower. That’s what Taka had told you after he found you crying. You had a panic attack after Sayakas body had been discovered and ran away, he had been the one that followed you and comforted you. Oh Taka, how you missed him. You missed talking to him and Mondo, you missed showing your puppets to Makoto, you missed sitting in company with Kyoko, you missed doing your nails with Junko, you missed hanging out with Chihiro, you missed singing with Leon and Sayaka, you missed swimming with Hina and Sakura, you missed getting you palm read by Hiro, you missed playing poker with Celeste, you missed talking to Hifumi about his special interests and watching his eyes light up as he talked, you missed discussing novels and tropes with Toko, you even missed having Byakuya insult you. You missed all of them. You missed having someone that wasn’t Monokuma with you. You would do anything to get them back, to have one last moment, all of you together, as friends. But you couldn’t think about them, lest you want to start crying again. You gave the breathing exercise another shot.

You didn’t even get the chance as you heard his hauntingly gleeful laugh throughout the halls. Soon, you heard the sound of the doorknobs being turned and the double doors to the classroom being opened. Oh no. He was here. You covered your mouth with both of your hands, letting out shaky breaths through your nose. All of the previous calm had completely disappeared as you heard him roam the classroom. “Y/N? I know you’re in here~ I can smell you.” As Monokuma said this, he started sniffing the air to demonstrate. You felt tears start to brew up in your eyes yet again. Any desperate tries to muffle your heavy breathing ultimately failed as you heard Monokuma let out that signature laugh he always lets out. A laugh that usually sounded so cute in any other situation than the one you were in right now. “Aww are you crying? What’s the matter? Do you think a hug from your buddy Monokuma would help? Puhuhuhu!” Everything became quiet for a couple of seconds, the calm before the storm. It didn’t last long however, the rippling sound of wood breaking entered your ears as the door to your cabinet got torn off it’s hinges. As soon as the semi light from the classroom entered your vision, you let out a piercing scream. The thing that towered over your small form was none other than Monokuma, except he was absolutely huge! He was about 13 feet, which made you wonder how he even got through the door. His beady eyes met yours full of fear, and for a moment he waited. He waited and revelled at your small noises, until he couldn’t hold himself back anymore. He quickly snatched you up in one of his paws, letting out a loud and taunting laugh as he manhandled you. You let out a whimper as you struggled in his grasp. His sharp claws were out and was the thing that held you in place as you thrashed around. “Do you really think you can escape ME!? At this size?! That’s just adorable!” You quickly froze up once he stopped laughing and pointed one of his claws directly to your throat. He let out a low chuckle, much deeper than his usual high pitched voice. “You’re not getting out of this. Not that easily.” As he said this he swiped his other arm across the room, effectively pushing all of the desks and such away. You let out yet another choked yell as the violent motion caused several chairs to fly across the room, crashing into the wall. It scared you to the point of tears and once Monokuma saw this, he let out another string of giggles. He drew in one of his claws and used that finger to stroke your cheek, wiping away your tears rather violently. Which only made you cry harder. Although it didn’t last for very long as he laid down on the newly cleared surface on the floor, bringing your small body close to him, kind of like how you did when you two slept together. “Look! Now YOU’RE the plush puhuhuhu! And what a cute plush you are! Ahhh~ I could stay like this forever, you’re so small and helpless like this! I could poke your side and you would pretty much be impaled!” Your blood turned cold as he told you this. This was far from the first time Monokuma had mentioned killing you, it seemed to be like a fantasy of his. But he always made sure to tell you-

“But no! Seeing you like this, in this prolonged form of despair is far greater than any despair you would get from dying.” There it was. Just like always, Monokuma made sure to inform you that you weren’t gonna escape this hell by dying. Or at least by his hands, or well, paws. You knew he was enjoying your suffering. He wasn’t going to let you go. He wasn’t going to let you join the rest. You were his little puppeteer. And you were the only company he had, except for the mastermind. But you were different from them, you were full of so much hope and so much potential despair, hope that intrigued him to no end as he toyed around with you. “Wow! I only did this to teach you a lesson but this is actually really nice! I certainly see why you enjoy these kinds of things so much ehehehe.” The bear said as he practically cradled you in his big arms. “I won’t lie Y/N. The thrill of chasing you, and the fear in your eyes once I found you. It was ecstatic! I wouldn’t mind doing this more often puhuhu!”

You were his, his to play with, his to cuddle, his to terrify. His, and no one else’s.

ASOOT Timeline: September 2012 (Boomers, Visions, and the Worst Day Ever)

Hello, everyone, and welcome to our last few (relatively) peaceful days before everything gets all Stormy.–Timeline Anon

September 11: Kokoro and Yoruko tell Hajime and Umeko about Mikako’s possibly prophetic dreams. Umeko theorizes that Mikako could be recalling information via a tachyonic antitelephone that can send the information back through time in a form of precognitive dreaming, although she admits that she needs to do more research. She and Kokoro will look into this, while Hajime’s priorities are finding out who coordinated with the police to cause the prison break and Kanade’s escape, as well as where Maverick is.

September 17: It’s Ayame’s birthday. She turns 15. Taira celebrates with her and also gets to meet her parents.

September 18: Kakeru and Midori visit Setsuka, Umeko, and the Warriors of Hope. The children play Clue, and Midori proves herself to be a master of board games.

September 24:

It’s been two weeks since the prison break, and the Quantum Crew still hasn’t learned anything new about who caused it, where Maverick is, or what’s up with Mikako. However, a discarded prison outfit with Maverick’s number on it has been found in a dumpster in Akihabara.

Taira is no longer employed by the Togamis; instead, she has a new part-time job at a supermarket. Her job includes a barista post at the coffee kiosk in the store. Nikei comes in to get some coffee, and they chat about her progressing relationship with Ayame (which may or may not include some flirting now) while Sora indulges vicariously in her love of bitter coffee. Talk turns to the future Ultimate Lucky Student of Class 79, Yuki Maeda, who has made several appearances at Taira’s supermarket recently to buy Momonoki man chocolates. Sora, who still feels protective over her old friend, will keep an eye on him.

Iroha and Makoto have been on three dates and are pretty much an official couple. Maku, Emma, and Jataro (who is learning how to apply makeup) give Iroha a “beauty upgrade” and listen to her gush about Makoto. They are having another date tonight at Makoto’s house to watch Sayaka Maizono’s concert on TV (which is a benefit concert for the Rebuild Akihabara Fund). Emma talks to her agent and adoptive parents on the phone and lets them know that she’s okay, then lends Iroha some blue lipstick for the occasion. Everyone wishes Iroha luck, and she cheerily skips all the way to the bus stop.

Mikan submitted her adoption form for Kotoko about a month ago, but she hasn’t heard anything back yet. Setsuka reassures Kotoko that the agency will certainly let them know soon. Also, the Warriors of Hope have been told about the Tragedy/time travel/etc. 

Kyoji, Monaca, and Kanade have developed into their own little family. Kyoji gives Kanade some new clothes that Hibiki bought for her. He’s still too ashamed of himself to resume contact with Miaya, especially now that Maverick’s on the loose, but Monaca and Kanade encourage him to consider her feelings and to make things right with her instead of stewing in self-loathing. He resolves to visit her as soon as he can. That settled, they all watch horror movies together.

The two unknown time travelers have not deviated from their usual patterns of movement. Umeko is monitoring them via her long-range detector.

Syobai calls Yoruko and tells her that he’s found the home address of Minako Tomori in Takayama. Yoruko is then visited by Mikan and Hibiki; it seems that the Cuddle Puddle is making plans to have sex on each of their 18th birthdays, and they’d like some advice about it. After making sure that it’s something they genuinely want, Yoruko counsels them not to worry about making it the best thing in the world and to focus on staying safe and having fun.

Hiyoko is taking Hajime to meet her grandmother, Izumi Saionji, in Kyoto. They hope to win Izumi’s approval of their relationship and maybe even work out a way for Hiyoko to see her parents again. Hiyoko advises Hajime to be polite, not to show any weaknesses, not to argue with her, and not to let her get to him. After saying goodbye to the rest of the Cuddle Puddle, they depart on a six-hour limo trip to Izumi’s house.

Kokoro and Umeko go to the Kisaragi household to check on Mikako. When they get there, they are greeted by a frantic Yamato, who explains that Mikako locked herself in her room and has been screaming, crying, and praying since last night. The group rushes to Mikako’s room and tries to coax her out, but when Umeko detects a small impulse of tachyon energy, they’re forced to break down the door. There, they find Mikako on her bed, crying and praying while clutching her necklace, surrounded by her drawings of the world on fire that are straight out of the Tragedy timeline. Everyone comforts her, Kokoro gives her some anxiolytic to help her calm down, and Umeko tells the Kisaragis that Mikako’s dreams are of the future. Kokoro and Umeko don’t talk about Kasugano, as Kokoro wants to keep her daughter safe, so they only say that they’re trying to put together a timeline of the Tragedy future in order to change it. After Umeko explains all the science, Mikako agrees to run some experiments with Kokoro and Umeko to learn how her new powers work.

At noon, Hajime and Hiyoko arrive at the Saionji mansion, and Hajime meets Izumi for the first time. He manages to give off a halfway-decent first impression, but he and Hiyoko have a hard time enduring Izumi’s racist, classist remarks. Izumi announces that they will be having dinner tonight with some guests, and she orders Hajime to make himself look presentable. Once she’s gone, Hiyoko apologizes to Hajime for her grandmother’s attitude. The pair get changed into the nice clothes that have been provided for them, and she shows him around the mansion. 

During Taira’s break, she, Sora, and Nikei go to the local Farbucks to try a special coffee called Liquid Cocaine. Sora tells Taira and Nikei about Yuki, her friendship with him in the Tragedy timeline, and her wish for him to have a normal life like he wanted. She worries that because her protectiveness of him was programmed into her code by Mikado, she might only care about him because she doesn’t have a choice, but Taira reminds her that she broke free of her programming shackles and still fought to save Yuki afterwards, meaning that her unconditional love for him is real. Sora gives Taira her blessing to date Yuki if things go that way in the future. Both Taira and Nikei admit to finding Yuki cute, although when Taira asks Nikei if he’s into guys, he gets cagey and doesn’t want to talk about it right now. Taira hugs Sora through the phone.

Kyoji and Kazuichi stop by the Void Warehouse. Kazuichi fixes the lights in the roof and nearly gets attacked by a bird while he’s at it. He mentions that he and Chihiro are thinking about building a robot together. Kyoji, who has brought a box of medicines and bandages, tells Maku and Emma another story about Maverick; he had a girlfriend named Haley Arai for a few years before he went to Hope’s Peak, but their relationship ended after he convinced her brother to engage in a school shooting, which left her paralyzed. It’s abundantly clear by now that Maverick is a sadistic man whose motives seem to be “because it’s fun.” Kyoji is focused on protecting everyone from him, so he asks to be told if anyone sees anything weird.

Gundham stays vigilant for any sign of Maverick, as he is worried about the potential danger posed to his friends and partners (he’s mostly integrated into the Cuddle Puddle at this point). Hibiki hugs him and assures him that he doesn’t have to fight alone. When Gundham wonders why the rest of the Cuddle Puddle accepts him so easily, Hibiki asks him about his past. In his typical Gundham style, Gundham explains that his father abandoned him and his mother, both families rejected them, and although his mom was a good mom who helped him discover his passion for animals, she died of an illness two years ago. As such, he thought he would always be alone, but Hibiki tells him that he’s loved by the Cuddle Puddle and that he shouldn’t isolate himself from them. They have a tender moment, then go to play games with the others. Also, Mikan finds a brochure in the mail for a place called Sunny Days Vacation Island, causing the Cuddle Puddle to consider the idea of taking a vacation at some point.

Iroha and Komaru prepare to watch Sayaka’s concert while waiting for Makoto to come home from school. Komaru, being a Sayaker, is of course very excited. Iroha is also excited, and since she knows that Sayaka will be one of the girls who develops feelings for Makoto in the future, she’s already dreaming of a Cuddle Puddle-esque polyamorous relationship involving her (plus the three other girls who will like Makoto). However, Iroha also knows that Makoto’s worst day ever is today, so he’ll probably miss the concert. She plans to comfort him when he gets home.

Makoto takes a different route home from school. He’s in a good mood and is looking forward to seeing Sayaka’s concert with Iroha and Komaru. Unfortunately, a series of unlucky events happen to him. He loses a game of rock-paper-scissors, so he has to buy food for his friends, but his bag rips open and sends all the food into the street. Kazuo Tengan drinks one of his coffee cans and tells him that no one has control over their fate. Then, they both end up on a bus that is taken hostage by a jewel thief named Jutarou Akafuku after Makoto accidentally exposes his stolen jewels. Kazuo fights Jutarou, Makoto manages to step on the brakes, and Jutarou tries to escape on a mailman’s motorbike, only to crash it as a result of an aluminum can that Makoto failed to pick up earlier. All of the mailman’s letters are destroyed in the explosion, including the letter to the original Ultimate Lucky Student of Class 78, ensuring that Makoto will be the Lucky Student and go to Hope’s Peak. Nearby, Taira and Sora realize that the Ankle Effect is not actively seeking to make the Quantum Crew’s lives miserable, but only wants everything to happen as it did in the Tragedy timeline.

It’s time for dinner at the Saionji household, and the mystery guests are Hiyoko’s Aunt Momoko and her husband Teru. (Momoko is actually a first cousin once removed, but she’s called Aunt Momoko.) At dinner, Hajime and Hiyoko tell the story of how they got together, and it comes out that Saionji women are expected to find husbands by around 18 or 19. The conversation goes belly-up when Izumi disapproves of Hajime’s social status. This causes an argument between everyone at the table, and Izumi threatens to pull Hiyoko out of Hope’s Peak. Momoko and Teru send Hiyoko and Hajime to their rooms while they try to talk some sense into Izumi, then go to give encouragement to the young lovers. Hajime and Hiyoko take a bath together.

Umeko tells Mikako about the quantum physics behind her new powers and also about time travel. Mikako experiments by looking about five to ten years into the future, and she shows Kokoro a vision where Kokoro and a grown-up Kanata are with a teenage Kotoko and a little girl named Sayuri Hinata, the future daughter of Hajime and Hibiki. Mikako suffers some mild seizures from the side effects of future-seeing, but other than that, things look good. Kokoro calls Iroha and asks her to draw pictures of Sayuri, teenage Kotoko, and grown-up Kanata. Mikako has just enough strength left to show Yamato a vision of himself hanging out with their future classmates.

Emma is thinking about having her adoptive parents adopt Masaru as well.

Sayaka’s concert starts. Iroha and Komaru watch it by themselves, since Makoto’s still stuck at the police station after his terrible day. They enjoy it very much. Komaru goes to check the mail in the middle of it, and just as Sayaka announces that she will be part of Class 78, Komaru finds a Hope’s Peak acceptance letter addressed to Makoto. The girls rejoice, and when Makoto returns from the police station, Komaru shares the happy news with him. After celebrating with his family, Makoto goes up to his room to find Iroha on his bed, surrounded by dandelion petals that she picked herself. They cuddle and kiss together in bed as Makoto tells Iroha about his day. She stays the night.

Hiyoko and Hajime wait for Izumi to make up her mind while chatting about whether or not they can (or should) get married. Eventually, Hiyoko is called to see her grandmother. When Izumi asks Hiyoko why she wants a romance with Hajime despite his status, Hiyoko argues that it’s not the Tokugawa Period anymore, that character matters more than class, and that although tradition is important, the Sainoji Clan needs to change and evolve with the times or else be left behind. Izumi decides to sleep on this and make her decision in the morning. Hiyoko and Hajime end the night by snuggling together on the futon.

It had been something that a therapist had told him once. If you can’t talk to anyone about your emotions, write an angry letter and throw it out. At the time it had seemed like such stupid advice. If you weren’t telling someone out loud, then how was it supposed to help anything? What was the point of writing a whole letter and then just throwing it away?

Now, though, Nagito was going to make use of it.

The letter wouldn’t be angry, and he’d much more likely burn it than throw it out, but the principal was the same. He could bear this loneliness and longing no longer. It was an ache that suffocated him; the mountain of pain that he couldn’t possibly express got stuck in his throat and choked him. And not in the way that he liked. He couldn’t tell anyone. He had no friends. He couldn’t tell Hajime. Hajime was gone, and he wouldn’t talk to him anyway. He couldn’t tell Makoto or Kamukura. He didn’t want to make the one suspicious or bother the other.

So he would write it instead, if he couldn’t say it, and he absolutely had to let this feeling out before it crushed him.

He sat alone in the study with the curtains drawn back. It was a private, out-of-the-way room that Nagito didn’t think Makoto, Izuru, or Hajime had ever been in. Dark wood walls and floors, lots of bookshelves, a desk and a computer…Nagito sat here now with only the sunlight pouring through the window as his light. He had a pen and a few sheets of paper. Normally he did his writing on his laptop, but he thought the physical act of doing it this time might be cathartic for him.

Hopefully, if he was lucky, no one would disturb him in this dark room as he wrote. He could get it all down, get it all out of his system, and go back to being useful and cheery to his two guests. He would hide the letter in his closet, probably, or burn it in the backyard. Either way, it could never see the light of day. Never reach the hands of the person he was writing for. That would ruin everything.

He began.

I miss you. I love you. I want to be around you so much that it feels like an ache. You know it’s been a month since we sat down and had a serious conversation. You said we needed to talk, and we never did. You said you had a present for me, and you never gave it to me. I miss you. I want to be around you. I want to talk to you. I want to be cuddled up with you by the fireplace, warm and comfortable and loved and safe and happy in your strong arms. You’re my only friend right now. You’re the only person I see every day. Without you, I wonder around in this big empty house full of memories, and I don’t even feel real. You’re the only thing that tethers me to my future. I hate to be so dependent on you. Believe me, I would never say it to your face. I don’t want to tie you down. I need you to live, but I don’t want to hold you back. If you go, and I die, then at least you’ll still be happy, and that’s all I want. I won’t be happy no matter what.

That’s been hurting me a lot. I can’t be happy no matter what. I loved you so much for so long. For years, you were everything I wanted and dreamed about. The life we have now was everything I dreamed about. Us living together, in a house we make ourselves, with our dreams and our peace and our love and our dog. That was everything I wanted for so long. But…now that I’ve got it, why am I still so unhappy? I feel so fake. I feel like dying almost every day. Nothing has gotten any better. Why can’t I be happy, even when I get what I want?

As a matter of fact, it’s made things worse. You always used to be such a fantasy of my future for me. If I thought ‘I have no future. I may as well die.’ I could stop and imagine, ‘well, think how happy you would be if, maybe, one day, Hajime loved you.’ But I can’t even comfort myself with that hope anymore. Even if you love me, I know that I’ll never be happy. Now I truly have no hope.

What happened? Why don’t you talk to me anymore? You talked to me more when you hated me than you do when you love me. I miss you. You used to be my best friend. We used to spend so much time together. But…You only ever pay attention to me when something really awful has happened.

I’m sorry for what I did.

I really didn’t mean to hurt you. I didn’t mean to get you in trouble with the Future Foundation or put you in any danger. I just wanted to make you happy, because I could see that I wasn’t making you happy. You didn’t want to be with me. I thought…I would make up for what I did wrong, and give you someone you did want to be around, who could make you happy. I didn’t mean for anything to go the way it did. My luck always shows me that no good deed goes unpunished. Because a worthless piece of garbage like me is meant to be evil, not good.

I’m sorry for what I’m about to do to you too. I know that my biggest talent in life is making you angry, and I’m about to use it. I’m so sorry if what I do hurts you. I don’t see how a worthless piece of garbage like me is even important enough to you to hurt you. But if I do, I’m sorry. I’m not doing it to make you feel bad. I just want your attention again. And you always paid more attention to me when you hated me than you do when you love me. You’re a tsundere like that. So I need to make you angry with me, and to do that, I’m going to do some bad things. I can’t help it. I need you. More than I ever did on Jabberwock. I’ve been around your hope so long that I’m addicted to it now, and now…You’re all I have left. I have no friends, no classmates, no prospects, and no Hope’s Peak. I can’t live without you.  Nagito’s pen stopped mid-sentence. Was that Kamukura’s voice, calling him downstairs for something? He’d better go see what it was. Wouldn’t want to keep the Ultimate Hope waiting. Nagito was there to serve, after all. He could always get back to the letter later. Mind shifting already to other things, he put down his pen and closed the door behind him.

Hours passed. He didn’t come back for it.

Bro do it! Another one Makoto will sometimes eat is cereal. However he only eats fruity pebbles (with marshmellows, ofc). It's not uncommon to see him eat an entire bowl of cereal and then drink like 7 cups of chocolate milk before deciding he is STILL not tired and ends up sitting in the kitchen watching Netflix on his phone. Another cute idea I had is that Makoto falls asleep quickest when he's cuddling someone. He sometimes ends up sleeping in 77 rooms with them because it helps him

Also Makoto eating a wholeass bowl of cereal and drinking 7 cups of choccy milk is such a mood istg. I like cereal and chocolate milk myself but I'll have a tendency to consume them in literally any other hour then the morning- (also I'm not American, so I have no idea how fruity pebbles taste, but if you think Makoto would enjoy them, then I'll take your word for it that they're good lmao).

I like to imagine that he does the Gay Seating Thing, and sit in literally any other way that a normal human being will- you just walk in and his head is resting off the countertop with his feet in the air.

I wonder, what kind of shows would Makoto like? For some reason I keep thinking of true crime/documentaries, but that's just because of the whole mystery solving aspect of the games, maybe his actual tastes are different? I know when I'm up late trying to sleep I end up (somehow) on the Korean side of youtube, watching resin tutorials (I don't understand any of it, but the visuals are pretty.... resin looks a lot like candy when it's 4am.... hhhnnhnhn-). Or I end up reading fics, and, well, that's never a good idea for when you don't want to stay awake...

And hhhhhh nonny that idea is adorable!!! Makoto cuddling up to the others, or falling asleep on the couch and leaning against someone's shoulder. If you want to be angsty, you can even look at it from a post-killing game perspective, and say the reason for him being unable to sleep alone is because the last time he said goodnight to someone and left to sleep by himself, she ended up dead :"D

And YES the others would totally let him sleep in their rooms with him. It's a little confusing and embarrassing the first time it happens, but eventually they all get used to it, to the point where whenever Makoto has to go back to his own dorm, it's a strange feeling for everyone. He's like- their little teddy bear. Small and sweet enough to promise to protect them, but just as much in need of that comfort himself.
